First time customer, tried the deep dish pizza. Excellent! Hard to find good deep dish in Bellingham. Does anyone have other recommendations for the "best deep dish"?

These sandwiches are on a whole 'nother level and if you have never had a Hawaiian sandwich before and you live in Bellingham, you need to stop being pathetic and get your ass to his restaurant. NOTHING gets me wet like a Boogie Board from Coconut Kenny's. Except delicious beer...maybe. I don't know tho, these sandwiches are on point. I hear their pizzas are even better, which disgusts me because I can't even handle their sandwiches without getting fully torqued. So, I would imagine getting a pizza there would be life-changing. Like the first time you take LSD life-changing. **THIS IS REALLY THE ONLY PART OF THIS REVIEW YOU NEED TO READ** IF YOU HAVE NOT GONE HERE, GO HERE.

We've been on family vacation and this was by far the best value. HUGE portions and reasonable prices. Because of the Yelp reviews, we split King Mahalo and a half order or cheese balls. They did not disappoint. Delicious! We also tried their home brews, the Sunset Red and the Islander Hefe and they were wonderful as well. The environment was fun and welcoming and so was the staff. This would normally earn a restaurant my highest mark - 4 stars - but they get 5 stars! I need to emphasize that I don't hand those out easily. We were originally served the wrong sandwich. They not only apologized and got us the correct sandwich quickly, but also kept the first sandwich wrapped and in the warmer so that we could take it back to our hotel. So we also bought chips and drinks and took it all back for our teenage sons. Thank you, Coconut Kenny's, for doing the right thing. Some might say I shouldn't give five stars because someone "just did their job," but stellar customer service is getting harder and harder to find. The way this restaurant handled the problem turned what might otherwise have been a negative dining experience to an exceptional experience. That's worth 5 stars in my book.

I would definitely come back here. ordered their Maui and Kahuna pizza. Lots of meat. And the pizza are huge. The place is not busy though. I guess they do mostly take out. YOu have to help yourself to water. Not much service. Basically order and sit yourself down kind of place. Had their wings as well and meatballs. Very flavorful. Decor is quite interesting and does matches the theme of Hawaii. Best part is that they have free parking at the back.

Coconut Kenny's Hawaiian themed, casual and one might call it corny, but I love it. You basically seat yourself, order at the counter and they'll bring you your food. Drinks, napkins, utencils and take out boxes are self serve. Everyone and everything including the Island theme music makes for a relaxing atmosphere. The menu consists of pizza and sandwiches with minimal salads and desserts. Most of the items have a Hawaiian twist to them and overall enjoyable. This isn't 5 star dining, but your kids and including the big kid in you will enjoy it.

Dog friendly outdoor dining. Great service with awesome pizza and beer. I had the zesty meatballs and the big Kahuna pizza. Both were served quickly and hot with very friendly staff. Will be back for sure

I know that this place is wildly popular in Bellingham, but I hated the pizza we got for takeout. We ordered a plain cheese pizza and it was so gross that we peeled off all of the cheese and were left eating just the dough with bits of sauce smeared on it. There was way, WAY too much cheese, and unfortunately it was disgusting, gross, cheap, flavorless cheese. You know the kind. It was like ordering from Dominoes. The crust was also pretty bad. Thick, sort of sweet and way too bready. I will not be returning. Maybe this place is good if you order the Hawaiian specialties, but as a vegetarian there are not many options.

Who knows how anyone would give less than 5 stars! Great food, prices, and service.

Came here for a snack after the movie. . Love this place! The sandwich was fresh, huge and on special for $5.99! We got a small pan pizza and it was really good sized too. Great toppings, baked fresh to order and the island theme is way cool. We will be back. You should try it.. really really good food.

Had the all Meater pizza & Hawaiian cheese balls. I'm not gonna lie, when my boyfriend first suggested it, I was not sure about it (I'm an extremely picky eater), but it was freakin delicious. Customer service was good too, which is always a plus.

Great place if you want that deep dish caramelized goodness. If you are looking for more artisinal flatbread go somewhere else.

Got a large pulled pork pizza with red onion and BBQ sauce. Had just one piece and was stuffed! Not to mention it's packed full of meat and is so incredibly tasty! Not getting pizza anywhere else, very impressed and satisfied!!! We even got a Side of their coleslaw for $1.50 and it went perfectly. I have no complaints. You must go!

Don't let this tiny little restaurant fool you. It's adorable inside, and the food is FANTASTIC. They also serve beer and have sports on the TVs :) friendly staff. The pizzas are LOADED and amazing. It's always been very clean and tidy.

Some of the best gluten free pizza crust I've had. Finally! I think it's three dollars off on Thursdays. I love to drive through the pick up window. So convenient.

EXCELLENT! We will be back! The pizza was great, the best crust I have tasted in a LONG time! I wish we had Coconut Kenny's in Snohomish County, but we will be back when we are in town. Thank you for a great family dinner tonight. It was a great place to watch the Mariner's game and enjoy great food and family.®

Awesome pizza! I'm usually not a fan of thick crust pizza's, but this was really good! Great casual place to grab a bite! They now brew their own beer, which I didn't try. Next time!

  • Ben W.

The pulled pork BBQ sandwich is the special on Tuesdays, and we were told it could be split. We added some cole slaw and beers, and when the food arrived, the sandwich was huge, and delicious! That was a tasty meal and a great value!

When it comes to awesome pizza and amazing, size-of-your-head sandwiches, Coconut Kenny's does it the best. Their chicken pizza is seriously one of the best bites you can get in Bellingham, followed closely by Da King Mahalo sandwich served on their amazing Hawaiian bread. They also have a good selection of micro's (only $4/pint or grab your order to go and head up the block to the Kulshan Brewery) and there is a salad or two on the menu just to make the place look healthy. ;) The Polynesian vibe of the place is fun, too. Try them out in February when any sandwich on the menu is $5.55 - it's an amazing deal, especially considering one sandwich is enough for two people. Gotta love a place where you can eat and drink well and get out the door for less than $10/person.

I originally came here with a couple of my friends just to spend time with them. I wasn't planning on eating here. But while waiting for my friends' orders, the place smelled so good that I decided to order a sandwich. I decided to order the Northshore. When the sandwiches came, my jaw dropped at the size of them. They were as big as our faces! The sandwiches were delicious. My friends got the pulled pork sandwich and the King mahalo sandwich and I got to try a bite of both. The place is small, but not too crowded. There are lots of Hawaii themed decorations on the wall. You really do feel like you're in Hawaii. The price is fair for the amount that you get. I'm not a big sandwich guy, but if I'm ever craving it, I'll be back here for sure.

  • Lola F.

We ordered a Hawaiian pizza. The thick crust was crispy filled with ham, green pepper, cheese, and pineapple tidbits cooked to perfection. A bit on the pricy side but excellent pizza. Highly recommend this place!

  • Jennifer Y.

The food at Coconut Kenny's was amazing. We came here on a Sunday evening and the pizza's were on special - $4.00 off! I don't remember exactly which pizzas we ordered (I know, this is not very helpful) I think we got the Big Kahuna and the Maui Wowie. The pizza crust was amazing. Probably one of the better pizza's I've had in a while. We also ordered the Zesty Meatballs and that dish right there is an automatic star. The honey BBQ sauce they have on there was SO GOOD. *insert hashtag foodgasm* If I were in the neighbourhood, I would not hesitate to come back here again. Incredible food.

A unique pizza place that is just perfect when you want something greasy. I love the lava pizza. It's super spicy and wonderful. I've been coming here for years. Two thumbs up!

This place has the best pizza in town, absolutely delicious! My Favorite is the Waikiki.

  • Morgan R.

Good cheap eats - fast and well made We split a pulled pork sandwich - one sandwich was plenty for two. Tasty pork, good sauce, and a bun reminiscent of Seattle's Macrina bakery -- all good. This place clearly caters to the college student crowd, but there were several other couples there in their 50s - so it's appeal is broader than just young people - probably because the food is good, copious and inexpensive.

  • Courtney E.

Their margarita twist pizza and cheese balls, ohhhh man. Delicious!!

Driving from BC to Seattle, we needed a place to catch the US world cup game against Portugal. Timing was going to be tight, due to long border wait, and getting seats at Boundary Bay seemed unlikely. So hooray for yelpers listing this under "sports bars." I called them to make sure they'd have the game on. It was perfect. Several TVs throughout. Sadly, it only seemed a handful of tables cared/watched the game, but we were enthusiastic and appreciated it very much. The volume on the TVs was lower than I'd have liked, but considering only 4 tables out of the place were watching, I guess it made sense not to blast the announcers comments. Cute thatch hawaiian shtick throughout. You order at the counter and they'll bring it to you. Small selection of beers on tap. Sundays the large pizzas are $4 off, and they'll do half/half on toppings. Pizzas and sandwiches both looked great, but we'd stuffed ourselves on Dim Sum before leaving Vancouver, so just couldn't manage that. But it was lovely to share a pitcher and the cheesy bread bites. Basically they just melt a bunch of cheese and garlic over these little rolls. Yum!! Later we also ordered the cinnamon/sugar bread that came with two scoops of ice cream (and that was the half order!!). Delicious.

I love this place. I've been going here a long time. Their pizza is so good. The cheese balls are yummy too. The theme is just fun. There is no Hawaiian food on the menu but it's Hawaii themed which I love. They even have a drive thru which I didn't know until a few years ago. Dangerous. I'm gaining weight just thinking about it.

I understand the charm of this restaurant. It's a Hawaiian themed pizza place which is sort of odd, but it works. My boyfriend and I were just passing through and Googled good food in Bellingham. This place was high on the list. It's fatty and greasy, but that's why it's good. The pizza was just what we were looking for. Sometimes it's nice to eat somewhere that isn't trying to push the healthy card. Their menu is shamelessly fatty, haha. It was like indulging on "local" Pizza Hut type pizza without actually going to Pizza Hut, if that makes sense. We ordered the veggie pizza and some of their cheese balls. Greasy goodness. Nothing overly impressive but it was definitely tasty. The staff was friendly and everything inside was clean. I'd probably go back.

  • Amanda M.

All around amazing! We ordered beers and the Waikiki pizza. The service was friendly and a plus was everything we ordered was 20% off for happy hour (3-5 p.m on weekdays I believe). The pizza was loaded and incredibly filling with a tasty sauce and lots of toppings. I was nearly full after two slices. It was pretty greasy but in a good way! They have a variety of pizzas with unique toppings and sauces. The service was very friendly and it was nice to sit outside on a sunny day. I will be back to try more!

    (5)
  • P D.

I love their pizza. Their pizza's aren't cheap, but the large pizza is definitely a lot of food due to the deep-dish action. Whenever I'm down in Bellingham I swing by to pick up a paw-ke.

    (5)
  • Jessica U.

SOOOO GOOOD! We know good pizza and this is good pizza. The crust is thick (and delicious) but not heavy, generous toppings and delicious flavors! We recommend the Pake and the Big Kahuna.

Not being from this area, I normally follow the advice of the Yelpers I pick as friends. I selected them because of their consistently insightful and funny reviews as well as their photographs.... With coconut Kenny's I strongly disagree with the reviews of esteemed yelpers. I've been hesitant to post this but this is my true opinion of the place... The service was great. the large size barbecue pork on a fresh bun was pedestrian... It tasted like bottle barbeque sauce drenching not particularly well seasoned pork on a bun. There was no coleslaw, no lettuce, no pickle, no acid to cut this sweet barbeque. It had 3 notes of flavor but it certainly did not make a harmonious chord. It was a large quantity of filling, boring, extremely basic barbecue pork for a little under $15. I must have done something wrong so I came back for another try, ordering a personal pizza. I ordered the vegetarian which turned out to be a deep dish. she said it was four slices. I said its the same size as for regular slices questioningly. It was the size of two regular slices. That is fine by me because that was plenty. It was not cheap. There was a lot of dough the bottom of the crust has oil and they do not develop the gluten. It is not baked like a traditional pizza crust. Pizza Hut used to do their dough in a similar fashion years ago but I'm not sure if that is still the case. I'm really sorry to disagree. I wanted to like this place as much as so many do. unfortunately I find Coconut Kenny's mundane and there are so many better pizzas to be had in Bellingham.

I really enjoy their All Meater pizza. It's surprisingly not as heavy as one would think and definitely not as salty! The pulled pork they use on it is very good and I enjoy the sauce a lot, it's a little bit on the sweeter side which I prefer. I am not a fan of cheddar cheese on my pizza, but it's an ok addition. The crust is thick, this is definitely deep dish.

  • Marilyn R.

Really enjoyed my experience here. Good and fast service. I had the King Mahalo half size and it was HUGE. Wish I had been hungrier so I could have finished it! Love the bread they put their sandwiches on too - very tasty. Haven't tried the pizza yet but the table next to me was having some and it looked awesome. Will definitely be back!

    (5)
  • Lindsay T.

Everything I've tried is delicious from sandwiches to pizza. Good customer service. Not the first place I would have thought of to watch the game but with pitchers and specials it's a good choice.

  • Chris M.

Coconut Kenny's is a great concept: hawaiian themed decorations (and some hawaiian themed foods, too?), TVs that always show local sports, pan pizza, sandwiches and the most amazingly delicious appetizer ever: cheese balls! The pizza was good, but Coconut Kenny's gets 5 stars for the cheese ball appetizer experience. They're garlicky, cheesy, bready, doughy, and they're served with the same tasty marinara sauce they use on the pizza pies. Both times I was here there was a Seattle sporting event on TV (Mariners & Seahawks) and there were clearly people who hang out there to eat good food and catch the game at the same time. Driving by it so many times, I would never have thought of it as a game-day destination, but having been there I can say it is a good choice if you want to watch the game, eat some food and toss back a few brews.

    (5)
  • Amanda B.

Their gluten-free crust is one of the best in town! I loved it! My only pet-peeve was that their BBQ pizza didn't have gluten-free BBQ sauce on it, and I didn't know that until I had a bad reaction to it. Otherwise, they had a football game on, and the atmosphere was very low-key. A very fun place to eat. My only advice would be to double check the ingredients ON your pizza if you are gluten-free.

  • Heath C.

Huge sandwiches for under $8. The bread is nice, thick and soft. The fillings are perfectly balanced. I'm coming back for pizza next time.

The Best!!!! Very good food!!! Delicious... Had the king mahalo sandwich... Some my Fam had pizzas... The love the food.. For desert we all shared the cinnamon balls with vanilla ice and the was just bomb..Total recommend this place..

My wife are on a quest for good pizza in town after living down the road from The North Fork. The pizza's good with a pan crust and a good, mild red sauce. We ordered an extra cheese pizza and an all meat pizza. We're still looking for a great New York style pie, but as I said, this was good for a thicker crust.

Great food. Really good Pizza and salad. Worth the bit of a sidetrip from the highway when we were trekking down.

  • Cody C.

Wonderful establishment! Great pizza(I like the BBQ pulled pork), and delicious sandwiches(the king Mahalo mmmmm!). Great little place to stop by for a bite, and they also have a drive up window for picking up to-go orders! The only reason I'm not 5 staring is that it can get pretty backed up, as it is a tiny building, and once or twice the quality control was not fantastic. That being said if you try it for the first time and it doesn't live up to expectations, give it another try! 9 times out of 10 everything is perfect!

  • Dustin D.

The place is amazing - best pizza I think I've ever had. And the price is excellent too. Even had a couple generous samples of beer before deciding what to get for a pitcher (which is on sale on Monday's). Highly recommend the Big Kahuna pizza, it was amazing!

    (5)
  • Katie K.

I was impressed by how delicious the gluten free pizza was. Even more amazing, they do not charge extra for gluten free. That is amazing treatment I do not see often. They do have wine but I would say that adding a Gluten Free beer to the menu would make this a gluten free junk food haven. My non-gluten free friends also loved and devoured the pizza.

    (5)
  • Emily M.

YES! Coconut Kenny's now offers gluten-free crust. It only comes in large sizes, but that's even better because most pizza restaurants only offer gluten-free crusts in personal size. And, even better is the fact that they do not charge extra fees for ordering gluten-free. Most places tacks on 2-3 dollars for the special crust. I am so happy! Thank you Coconut Kenny's!

    (4)
  • Aaron M.

The food is tasty and economically priced. A great place to grab a quick bite or lunch with some friends. I think the wait times could be shorter. Some of the employees could be friendlier as well. But for the quality of food, it's well worth it.

Heard about this from "Best Of The Northwest" Ate there for the first time tonight and was rather disappointed. As I did not have a menu in hand when I ordered (there were none at the register where we placed our order, the girl said they were all gone?? really?) Anyway, I asked the girl if they had something like bread sticks and she said no, that they had "cheese balls and meat balls" (as she pointed to the menu taped to the counter, upside down from our view). We ended up ordering a large Big Kahuna and an order of meatballs for an appetizer. AFTER ordering the meatballs we learn that the cheese balls ARE bread with cheese and marinara sauce. Hello? The meatballs were very good but they taste like something that should be served with rice. An odd thing in a pizza place. The pizza, when it arrived, was burned on the bottom and completely (completely) black around the entire edge. Why would ANYone serve a burnt pizza?? As we did not want to wait all that time again, we ate it, eating around the burnt part. It had pretty good flavor but It was probably one of the driest pizzas I've ever had. I don't know if that is the way they do them there or what. We ended up leaving all our leftovers there, half the pizza ~ didn't care to take home burnt pizza... At some point we might give this place one more shot and try the smaller pizza as all the small pizzas I saw being delivered to the tables around us, none of them were burnt. Maybe try a sandwich. Maybe even try some cheese balls ~ the ones made with BREAD ! It could have been a whole lot better.

I love Coconut Kenny's! Somehow, we've bmmanaged to become regulars even though we live in Seattle. The service is great, the portions are perfect and the price is just right. They'll make a sandwich any way you want it, in stride... Love that about this place!

Came here after a friend recommended it. Staff was friendly. Got a Waikiki pizza. It came in a reasonable time and was one of the best pizzas I've ever had.

  • Joe A.

This food is absolutely amazing, I'm so glad my roommate took me here before I moved! I had the Maui Cheesesteak and it was delicious. Next time I'll have to try a different sandwich or even one of their pizzas. They had the World Cup on, though I didn't really care since I'm not a soccer fan. But one of the employes was ecstatic about it, as much as I would be for a Seahawks game. Can't wait to come back here!

Great pizza- not a thick crust fan usually but this place might make me a convert. Be sure to get the cheese balls!

  • Michelle W.

There is good reason behind the high-star rating of this place!!! YUM!!! This is not the place for carb-avoiding, gluten-free eaters. The bread and pizza dough are pure joy to chew and taste! Our boys got a pizza to split ($4 off on Sundays!), half Hawaiian, half cheese. Oh my STARS! The crust is so good! My husband got half a King Mahala sandwich (he loved it) and I got half a Boogie Board (ranch, chicken, mushroom, cheeses, bacon - warm, salty, gooey, comfortingly good). Jesus at the register was very helpful in guiding us to make great choices. The gentleman making the pizzas (I didn't get his name but he was so nice, friendly and welcoming!) was also a great representative of the restaurant. The garlic cheese balls are soooo good, too! They are as their name implies - soooo good! This place is worth your time!

  • Sherie E.

Delicious pizza, perfect size for 1! The dessert balls were great too but did have a taste of garlic. Not of fan of garlic-y desserts.

Best pizza & sandwiches in town. Period. Awesome, friendly, staff. The atmosphere is Hawaiian themed, with surfboards, bamboo, etc. There's always a game on their three flatscreens. Booth and table seating indoors, a few seats at a bar looking table outside. Bathrooms are clean. The pizza is incredible. Cheese-fused crust, deep-dish, loaded with toppings. Try the Waikiki, you won't be disappointed. 1 large pie is more than enough for 3 people, I never have left this place without being full. Their pulled pork sandwiches are delicious as well.

  • Rita M.

For a no. 1 rated pizza place, this one is just OK. Both my husband and I were unhappy with the pizza itself. We won't go back voluntarily, but I think my daughter and her friend liked it and were happy to have the leftovers. The crust is thick, but nothing to write home about. It's college pizza at best. There was so much topping that you couldn't taste the crust, and the pizza was baked in a high sided pan so there was no edge so you could taste what the crust was like. Definitely not hand stretched. Unlike others, I think it was overpriced--$60 for 3 12 in pizzas (mostly vegie) and 2 pops is a little excessive IMHO, and you have to order the pizzas at the counter and serve your own drinks. Which is fine. I don't mind doing that, but when you pay almost $20 a pizza, they should take your order at the table.

    (2)
  • Jacob E.

Good sandwiches and a great little seating area up front.

  • Brooke D.

Huge and tasty sandwiches! My coworker had the Hang 10 consisting of delicious meatballs, and I had the Hi Hee with savory buffalo chicken. Both of them did not disappoint! If I wasn't on lunch break, I would've had a beer to go along with the sunny, Hawaiian atmosphere.

    (4)
  • Kristi K.

Stop here for AMAZING sandwiches! Coconut Kenny's has fantastic food with a fun Hawaaiian vibe. The pizza is pretty good, but it's the sandwiches that really put them at the top of my list. The full size is HUGE (most people could probably get by with splitting a full one) and is served on warm, soft bread with generous meat. My favorite is the King Mahalo, but I have had many of the others and am never disappointed. So yummy! And, don't pass up an order of cheese balls. They are basically little balls of yummy squishy bread covered with cheese and garlic... sounds simple but they are soooo good! PS - I heard a rumor that this place was modeled after Big Kahunas in Honolulu, Hawaii (I have no idea whether this is true or not) but when I was in Honolulu last summer I made sure to check out Big Kahunas and I have to admit that I prefer our very own Coconut Kenny's! Seriously! I thought the bread was better, the cheese balls were better, the sandwiches better. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that I don't have to go all the way to Hawaii to get the best Hawaiian style sammys! Woo hoo!!

  • Brian E.

I love this place I don't go very often because it is a little expensive however I love their food it is unique and delicious. the pizza crust is unlike any other I have ever had in a good way and the sandwiches are filling.

  • Frank G.

Don't be fooled by the name, theme or decor of this restaurant. This is about as far away from island/Hawaiian food as it gets. Coconut Kenny's is pretty much limited to pizzas, sandwiches, and other items of that nature. I've had several things off the menu and none of those things are particularly special. The cheese balls were 90% dough and about 10% cheese and other things, completely disappointing. The expensive pizza was above-average at best but again, nothing special. The pulled pork sandwich tasted pretty good. Coconut Kenny's can be a good place to watch sports. I've caught a couple hockey and soccer matches there and I gotta say, it's a nice break from loud, packed sports bars. The beer selection isn't bad but with Kulshan Brewery just a few seconds away, you might wanna just get beer there instead.

We always go here when we do a cross-border trip to get our Trader Joe's fix. I've never had something I didn't like. The portion sizes are HUGE! One of their pizzas has been feeding me for the past three meals! And their sandwiches are like two sandwiches stuck together. Love the kitschy atmosphere, and the girls that work the counter are awesome. Tip: If you're going on the weekend, make sure you're there before noon, otherwise you'll have to wait to get a seat.

    (5)
  • Kiana F.

I love their sandwiches. They're huge and delicious and amazing. The pulled pork is bomb, yes it's just bread, and heaps of delicious pork. And yes, you may cry a bit at the fact that there's virtually no vegetables at all (or maybe that's just me?), but you can order coleslaw, which I should've done because I needed something to counteract the heap of meat staring me in the face. Their pizza was super good too. Go in for a brewski and a tasty sandwich and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I am glad so many people love Coconut Kenny's in the way I am glad Rebecca Black has made so many people happy. I just don't get it. To be truthful CK's deserves more than one star. But if i can steer one person to better pizza (la fiamma, rudy's, fairhaven pizza, chiccitti's, et al) I will be a responsible yelper. In a word: pinguid. Albeit mediocre and tasty, CK's is just OK. The white sauce is warm ranch, the pesto was uninspired and oily. And "da king mahalo" was sickly sweet, yet manages to taste both like the pesto pizza and the white pizza. Hell, it was no better than papa murphy's up the street. The service was efficient, kind and even delightful, but the food is more overrated than the bieb. Go downtown, your taste buds will thank you.

this is such a cute little house with lots of hawaiian decors decked out ceiling to floor inside. I went here over the summer and it was really exciting to step inside the tropical tiki hut for some lunch. All the sandwiches and pizza were made with hawaiian bread as the dough that they make themselves so allow some time for it to bake. But you get the fresh out of the oven taste which made it really soft and fluffy and slightly sweet. I got olives and sausage in my sandwich and was full with only half of it! even all the names of the items are hawaiian inspired with reasonable prices. :)

I had the Maui Cheesesteak. It had Dijon horseradish mayo. I do not like mayo at all and this stuff was amazing!! Everything was great. The atmosphere is kinda silly. I was not expecting much from the food but it was amazing!! I will be coming back!! Seriously!! Try this place!!

Normally I would never think about anything less than 5-stars with this place, but a couple of weeks ago we went in on a rainy friday night and I came away disappointed. The ambiance of this place always cheers/warms me with it's Hawaiiana decor. This night we ordered Longboard sandwiches which this time came on the sweet bread, but they were soggy, much to my surprise and dismay! Someone at the table next had a pizza which looked scrumptious, and will be my choice next time. I still love the small town feel and great service of this place, no more Kings bread longboards for this particular palette.

I don't think I've ever had better pizza than I had at Coconut Kenny's - and I've eaten A LOT of pizza! The Hawaiian grass-hut theme is fun, sure, but the BEST PART is the GIANT MURALS that can be found in the bathrooms! When you sit down it's like your RIGHT THERE, pooping on a delightful tropical beach and hoping nobody catches you! LIVE THE DREAM!!! Excellent pizza *and* a perfect simulation of pooping on a tropical beach, how can you possibly go wrong???

I made a dash in to Coconut Kenny's during a day trip up to Bellingham from Portland. Fun place and atmosphere, and the biggest sandwich I have ever eaten. I had the pulled pork, and it was very tasty. Good value. A half sandwhich would ward off hunger easily.

Lunchtime beckoning need food. Stopped by for the tooted longboard. Wow needs fulfilled. A little of a wait. Hey everyone had the same thought. Great sandwich.

When my boys were small, Coconut Kenny's was a favorite neighborhood stop. The decor, with all of the Hawaiiana, Is charming and original. The space feels like you are at one of the old beach hut restaurants! The second owner added the big screens, which I don't like, but they mostly televise sports and that's okay during important matches, I guess. The boys enjoy the sandwiches such as the big luau (ham and turkey) da pipeline ( roast beef/french dip) or the bbq killer pork. (that is my favorite sandwich, too.) And sometimes one or the other would have an individual sized pizza. The pizza is deceptively filling! On your first visit, you might try that size. Back in the day, they also offered a salmon dinner: fish, rice and a vegetable. ( great for everyone who is tired of pizza.) I wish they would bring that back!!! Coconut Kenny's is a fun, local, place where you run into your friends and neighbors, and have some reasonably good food for a reasonably good price. Try it! Aloha :)

I'm from CA, and was kinda eh about this place but I have to say... It's amazing! I Had the pizza & my sisters the sandwiches I wish they had this out in Cali! Amazing!!!

Definitely worth the visit. The crust was crispy and delicious. The marinara sauce was spot on. The toppings were fresh and considering that there was considerable meat and cheese and very little grease on the pan says a lot. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We will definitely return and highly recommend it!!

I used to ride by this place on my way from home to work just about everyday, and had to make sure to stop by at least a couple times a week. The pizza is great, the happy hours have some great deals, but it is really all about the sammiches. They are huge and full of deliciousness.

Coconut Kenny's take a great and different spin on pizza. Besides their delicious pizza we love their longboard sandwiches. This place is in our Top 10 for lunch spots in Bellingham. Such a great meal every time.

Okay any of you who follow me know I am not generous with my stars. This has to be one of the best pizza's I've ever had. You have to try it. We drove up from Everett and it was worth it. Well okay we took in the Bellwether Jazz Festival first but you have to try this pizza. It is the bomb. The people are friendly and the pizza is great. You can always find something to do in Bellingham and if you can't what the heck go to Coconut Kenny's for a pizza. The only thing I was disappointed in was that I left without ordering a pizza to go. :-( no pizza for me tomorrow. Oh darn, I guess I'll just have to come on back.

I stopped in on my way to the Hotel, because it had amazing Yelp! reviews. I grabbed a famous Mahalo sandwich and coleslaw and was in heaven. I asked for a half, but the girl recommended I get a whole for a dollar more. Apparently they were having a special, and all Full sandwiches were $5.55. The pizzas that the kids around me were eating looked delicious and made me wish that I wasn't just there on business. I ate half of my amazing sandwich for dinner and saved the other half for lunch. It was good cold the next day, too!

Hands down best pizzas in town. Friendly service, decent prices and delicious pizzas. There cheesy, thick, full off tops so worth it.

This place is great! My first trip to Bellingham was pretty much worth it for this place alone! What you should know: - Almost all their full-sized sandwiches can feed two people. - They have in-credible, super-sized pulled pork sandwiches for around 7-8 bucks. - The deep dish pizza is outstanding and has burnt cheese around the edge of the pan! - The happy hour is solid. - The cheese balls are bomb-tacular. - They have flat screen TVs and always have sports on. - Friendly staff. Would definitely go back anytime I'm in Bellingham.

Favorite Pizza place in Bellingham, and I don't think I've even had the Pizza. The "LongBoard" pizza sandwich is where its at. Homemade soft Hawaiian style bread is topped with your choice of toppings and sauce or pick from one of their pre chosen combos. Then the sandwich is cooked in the pizza oven and served. Absolutely delicious! The cheese balls are real tastey as well. Fact you can get a cold beer and watch espn is a plus, and I just used their drive up window for lunch time pick up and must say its quite conveniant.

We were visiting our daughter in Bellingham and looked this up on Yelp and decided to give it a try based on its 5 star rating. Boy they did not disappoint!! The pizza & cinnamon balls were amazing!! Service was great and friendly!

My husband I are newer to town so we're still in our food exploration phase. We're loving Coconut Kenny's. We've had sandwiches at the Ferndale location twice, so we wanted to try pizza. Our pepperoni pizza was delicious. I like pan pizza once in a while, and the extra crispy ring of cheese around the outside was like a tasty bonus! We also shared the half order of cinnamon balls for dessert. When they first set it down in front of us I thought we'd never finish it, but we happily rose to the occasion :). Nearby diners where drooling over it. The basics: I think the prices are right on; neither a great deal nor over priced. Service at both locations that I've been to has always been friendly, and food seems to come out as quickly as made to order can. We got the last table at 7pm on a Sunday night. We only saw one family wait about 10 minutes for a table to open up. Since it was Sunday night we parked in the lot of a neighboring business. Where do you park during the day?? Nearby street parking??

They should call it Pavlov's Sandwiches because whenever someone says Coconut Kenny's I start salivating. It's sad :(

Da King Mahalo is wonderful same with the cheese balls. The food is good, the service is decent, and the portions are generous. You only need half a sandwich to fill you up. The only things to complain about Coconut Kenny's is the seating, not very much room so if you go during lunch hour plan to take it to go, also the parking isn't wonderful, I always walk there from my work when I go. The only semi bad experience I had there was when I had printed out a coupon called in and ordered it and went to go pick it up and couldn't find the coupon and they wouldn't give me the deal even though it is a coupon you can just print off their web site and I obviously knew about it and ordered with the intention of receiving that valid deal. Yeah it was my fault for forgetting the coupon but I eat there all the time, too much really, and the one time I was going to get a discount they turned me away. I have worked in many similar food establishments and if a regular customer called in with a coupon and came in without it, I would give it to them still, just saying. I haven't been back since, I would I mean the food is good enough, however they just don't make their customers feel special like some of the places in town, and I guess I just haven't been craving Da King Mahalo as much lately. Anyways, definitely worth checking out, it's better than a lot of the places in town, just don't forget your coupon or expect a seat during lunch hour.

Went here for a quick lunch. We decided to get a half order of the cheese balls, on the recommendation of other yelpers, but they were just okay. What really blew us away were the two sandwiches we got. One was the BBQ Killer Pork, which was tangy and just a little spicy, with lots of tender pork and really good Hawaiian bread. The other sandwich was "da" Pipeline and this could be the perfect sandwich: cheese, mushrooms, onions, beef, toasty bread and a flavorful au jus. We got halves not fulls, but they were still huge. Wish we lived closer. This would be our new favorite haunt.

Thanks to Yelp, we had a wonderful affordable lunch today while shopping in Bellingham. Two of us shared a Mahalo sandwich, which was plenty of food. Sandwich was hot and fresh. It includes sweet BBQ sauce - if sweet isn't your thing there was a beef dip type sandwich that looked more savory (and a staff member said was also popular). Place is clean with a Waikiki type decor. Staff were friendly. Not that we were imbibing today, but we noticed that beer and wine are very affordable ($3.75 for a glass of wine - where can you find that?), even more so at their happy hour (3-5 Mon-Sat, discounts on food and beer). We will have to try pizza on a future visit.

This place has an awful over-the-top decor that makes me chuckle every time I go in. That said, the food rocks and the prices cannot be beat.

We went here based on the good reviews It was nothing special. Pork sandwich was good but it's hard to go wrong with that. The nacho's are nothing special. Food is average at best.

For unique and delicious pizza, Coconut Kenny's is the place! The interior is fun, but small - I wouldn't try to eat there with a party larger than four. We usually call our order in and then pick it up. I don't think you could get a bad pizza here and we always take more time debating which yummy kind we want than it takes them to make it. The pulled pork sandwiches and the chicken wings are quite tasty too!

**[FYI: Started review 4 months ago & now officially finished!]** A friend brought me here the other day for lunch, and I thought it was pretty tasty! The restaurant itself was located in a residential house-looking place, refurnished and decorated with an Hawaiian-esque theme. Even though the place is small, the dining area had high ceilings and open space. With both tables and booths for seating, the atmosphere was quite adorable and pleasant. Since it was my first time, my friend ordered for the both of us, and we ended up sharing a delicious, "Longboard" sandwich. It was absolutely delish!! =) I highly recommend going to this place and trying out their food! Their service is great as well. The cashier was really friendly and helpful, and he also recommended a few items on the menu for us to try out.

Love Coconut Kenny's! The king mahalo is SO good. The bread they use is something magical! The only thing is you will slip into a food coma afterwards..

I think this place is seriously underrated. They have what I like to call an "honest pizza"- generous toppings, and a crust you can really sink your teeth into, and for a decent price. Some of the "gourmet" pizza places in Bham really don't impress me- I don't really care for those places as their pizzas just aren't that good according to my taste, but I like a thicker crust and lots of toppings. Coconut Kenny's is a great sit-down restaurant for pizza (you can do take-out too). Also, the staff were extremely friendly (but not to the point where it's annoying) and helpful and nice, and the atmosphere was cozy. We'll definitely come back here with family and friends in the future.

These guys have an awesome pulled pork sandwich. To die for! It is reasonably priced and always tastes great. It is huge, so I always have leftovers for the next day. I think the sandwich is about $7. (SOOOO worth it.) Their pizza is good too, but why bother when you can get their pulled pork sandwich. They have a drive up window so you can pay for dinner without having to go inside. It is great if you have kids or it is pouring rain and you don't feel up to getting out of the car. The staff is always very friendly and courteous.

If you like BBQ Pulled Pork sandwiches... this is the place for you. The cheese balls are a great side dish too. I really enjoy their pizza, but my kids love the cheese balls and sandwiches. On top of that I accidently ordered a Big Kahuna, when thinking I was order the King Mahalo Sandwich... the Big Kahuna Pizza as it was, was delicious too. The King Mahalo is my new favorite sandwich... It's huge!

I like this type of place, but it's in an odd location. The prices are reasonable as stated before, but I still don't think their food is something to marvel at. It's pretty much pizza and sandwiches, and I tried both and found them mediocre at best. There is beer and service is pretty friendly, so that earned them an extra star.

  • Stephanie B.

Such yummy pizza! I love their white pizza. It has 5 different kinds of cheese, a white sauce and chicken with the best crust. Eating there is like a little trip to Hawaii, great decor.

  • Rob L.

Way less expensive than a trip to actual Hawaii, Coconut Kenny's is the next best thing, and it's right here in Bellingham. Specializing in Hawaiian-style pulled-pork, Coconut Kenny's serves up huge helpings of it on fresh Hawaiian bread. They also have some kick-ass pizza, though I can never resist the sandwiches... Great all the time, but especially on rainy days. They've done an awesome job of transforming the inside into an island paradise, so you can pretend you're on a mini-vacation.

  • Evan W.

Really? That's what I have to say for doubters of Coconut Kenny's. A pitcher of Mac & Jacs is $8 and the pizza is really good, like really good. It is a layed back place and everyone is nice. Try the White pizza

  • Vlad K.

I like Pizza a lot. There are a lot of pizza clones out there but Coconut Kenny's isn't one of them. The pizza is good but my favorite is actually one of the sandwiches. The da King Mahalo is fantastic and I push...er recommend it to my friends when we go there.

    (4)
  • Ben S.

This place has great pizza sandwiches, great prices and enough TVs to catch the action when the game is on. Sure it's a gut bomb and their nachos leave a lot to be desired, but that's what you expect for a cheap, fun place like this.

    (4)
  • Sean M.

Pizza with a Hawaiian theme. They have tiki torches burning in the front with REAL fire... Wow.. Other then that, service is usually good and the prices are fair. Food is average.

    (3)
  • Mallory P.

I don't know anyone who goes here. The location sucks, there's nothing here that you can't find somewhere else and I honestly don't understand the motif with the food... but some people like it. I would suggest going during the summer when the tiki torches are lit outside and you can share a pitcher with some friends.
