Drive all the way from beacon hill to try this place at my parent's request. There are a hundred Chinese restaurants between home and there, conservative estimate, so these yelp elite stars are going to be hard to earn. But earn them, they did! We shared about 10 dishes between 6 adults plus 1 toddler and 2 babies. Everything was really good! I particularly enjoyed the clams, steamed fish, soft tofu and roast duck. Very well priced, too!

I'm not picky with food quality as long as it's edible. However, this wasn't the case at King's. King's has a brand new owner now. I'm very disappointed. The previous owner was polite and the food quality was so much better. We came here on a Friday night at 7pm and the restaurant wasn't even busy at all, which says a lot. The service was terrible. The waiters completely ignored us and we waited for 30 minutes before we could order. The food quality was disappointing. The menu didn't change much but the quality went down a lot. I also came here with my family for dim sum a couple weekends ago and that was the worst dim sum ever. DO NOT DO NOT EVER ORDER HOT MILK TEA - it was the nastiest milk tea I have ever tasted in my entire life. I'm sad that this place just isn't the same anymore.

If I could give them zero stars I would. The worst customer service ever, so rude it's unfathomable. Never have I ever been treated like this before with my family even though we used to come here tons and tons. The food is a hit or miss depending on who's the cook. Dim sum here is poor. With a lack of Chinese restaurants in Bellevue, eat if you want.

I've been to King's many times and always enjoy their dim sum. Today was a little different. Our party received great service, the food was delicious and we were pleased with the experience. When we received the total, I went up to the cashier, slipped a cash tip into the jar, then paid for the meal with my credit card. I then went back to the table to wait for another member of the party to finish. As we left, the cashier and a waitress called me back to explain that I had not put a "service charge" on my payment slip. (I'm guessing they meant a tip?) It's very possible that they didn't notice me putting a tip into the jar, but I was so surprised and taken aback at being so publicly and pointedly asked for a gratuity that I put down an extra $5 in cash and left. I'm in favor of leaving tips for service, as I know how hard everyone works at a restaurant. So being publicly called out as an apparent cheapskate was particularly embarrassing. There are other places to get good dim sum in the greater Seattle area; King's was just the most convenient. For now, though, I'll explore some other local options and give my bruised dignity a little time to heal before I'm ready to return.

The truth is, the food was kind of OK, the duck 3.5 stars, and the rest maybe 2.5 to 3.5. BUT THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST, and it's a PATTERN. If you don't believe me, try adding up your bills. All the staff consistently count the price of one duck as two orders of half-ducks, multiple times to multiple people. I was warned of this but I was skeptical--now that I know it's true. I won't go to a dishonest merchant again.

Owner changes and quality of food has gone up a lot. Highly recommend. The services is good and they always check back on our table.

New management at King' Chinese Seafood Restaurant. New kinds of dim sum. Higher food quality. Very reasonable price!

King's is a my parent's favorite restaurant on the eastside. We have been coming here for years when it was called Ming's. It's probably the most authentic to Cantonese you can get in the area. Some day are better than others, depending on the chef. From my last visit in July, I would say this place has the best dim sum on the eastside. Of course, it may change again if there is a different chef.

Decent dimsum on the east side.. if you crave dim sum and u don't want to drive 2 hours to Richmond, BC.. this isn't bad.. Service is like any other dimsum spots - non existent.. food is decent, again measured on Seattle standards. it's just sad.. aren't there enough Chinese people in Seattle/East side to get something remotely similar to a Kirin in BC?

Went there about 3 months ago when we saw the grand opening sign and had dinner for a family of four on a Friday evening. The restaurant was full of customers and the food was really good and service was great. We decided to go back again a few weeks ago, still Friday evening and no customers at all. We waited in the lobby and no one showed up to seat us. We even got someone's attention, but still no one seated us, so we left. We won't be back unless the reviews change.

I would have to say that my dining experience here was surprising. I'm used to very dirty, disgusting Dim Sum but this was different. When we first arrived it looked much cleaner than most which was great, when we sat down most of the plates were stuck to the table leading me to believe that the table was sticky. When the food arrived it looked cold, so we called the waiter and she very kindly and politely took our food back and exchange it for fresh and steaming hot food. Overall the food was good and exceeded my low expectations. The service here was extremely friendly and respectful and the food was good. We will probably return. Update: the picture "Nian Gao" below is actually Turnip Cake, sorry! :p

I've been to Kings a few times lately. The food is okay and price is good too. Would have given it 4-star until the latest experience made me come out and lower the ratings. I ordered a takeout and when I got home, I found the pork I ordered was overcooked and with black overcooked spots all over the pork. I called to complain and asked for refund and the manager tried to deny it and said it's soysauce! When I told them I could tell the difference of a soysauce and an overcooked mark, he reluctantly promised to refund me the money to credit card. I probably would not go there again in the near future.

This restaurant has had numerous owners/managers and names over the past 10 years and with each change it starts out good but goes downhill quickly. It use to be our favorite, but no longer. The service is slow and the dim sum options are limited. It seats about 80 people and was just over 1/2 full when we arrived. We were seated near the kitchen where the food enters the dining room, so it was easy to see when the carts exited. It took 10 minutes for the first tray to pass with 4 items. Another 10 minutes until the hot cart arrived with 6 items-after our waiter signaled her. Another 15 minutes until any trays or carts arrived-but with the same items as before. At this point we decided to leave. Perhaps when there is a new owner/manager we will try it again-but not any time soon.

My family and I have been going to King's Restaurant for the past couple of years (I think it was called Ming's before that). We LOVE the food. It is not easy finding a restaurant that the whole family enjoys. We've had the dim sum and various al acarte items and have never been disappointed. We'll be there again tomorrow:)

The dimsum here is legit. Loved the sticky rice especially. This places me never want to go back to DTF again. Going back to try the pig trotters and rice claypot MMMM.

I've been to King's Chinese Restaurant twice for dinner. Both times were with large groups for a celebration, which may be why we had pretty good service... in fact, better service than at other Chinese restaurants I've been to in the greater Seattle area. The Chinese food is authentic, and pretty good compared to other Chinese restaurants in the greater Seattle area. They were accommodating with the group allowing for wine, soda, and cake to be brought in - I do not know if they charged a corkage fee or not.

Passable Chinese food, but I didn't find it to be worth the price. We were a pretty large group with reservations, and they squeezed us into the edge of the restaurant with no space. The people who sat towards the window couldn't get out to go to the bathroom because there was no space between us and the next table. The service was also subpar; I had to ask several times for water, which shouldn't have been a hard order to remember. I guess she doesn't bother with things that don't make any money, because the only reason I was able to request the water several times in the first place was because the waitress kept coming by to offer us more beer.

This review is based off the 10+ times I have ordered from the lunch special menu. I can call my order in and pick it up 10-12 minutes later. The staff is friendly and works with me when I butcher the name of the dish I want to order The food is fresh and a GREAT deal for lunch.

Wife tried to eat there today 11/3/14 and found ROACHES in her food. Turns out they have a series of violations with King County about roach infestations. Yikes! This was the best Chinese food place in the area. Too bad. Ugh!

Ate there on Christmas for lunch. Big mistake. Seriously take the drive to Chinatown. Dim sum made with low quality. The ordered dishes were too salty as well :( I've never been disappointed by sui mai... well this might have been the first time. If I wanted to eat just plain salty ground pork I could have made it myself. Service was alright

Over the years I have been to Kings a number of times usually for their lunch specials and have always enjoyed it. I have never tried their dimsum and have always wanted to so finally today we went there. Overall it was decent. The staff were excellent and very attentive. The actual dishes were visually pleasing, but while there was nothing blaringly wrong with them, they definitely miss the mark in terms of taste. The flavors were just off, texture of the food was not quite on par and everything had a hint of sour flavor to it. At first I thought it was just my taste buds playing tricks on me then I tasted their preserved egg and pork congee, it tasted great. I also looked around the room and saw mostly Cantonese speaking customers which indicated at least to me that some people liked the food there, but I probably would opt for a different restaurant the next time I crave dimsum.

Jesus Christ, I do apologize for using the lord's name in vain but there are your stereotypical bad Chinese restaurants in Seattle and then there are places that are gunning for the Nobel Peace Prize in next level horrific Chinese food. How is this place still in business? Are there anyone who actually eats here? I was unfortunately forced to get a box lunch here as part of a class I was attending near the area. When all your choices are bad at a 3 star (heavily inflated) Chinese restaurant, what would you do? You know with absolute certainty that the broccoli beef is probably the cheapest and roughest USDA destined for dog food grade beef which is further tenderized by whatever over the counter chemical agent or the general tso's would be the lowest grade chicken fried with an unspeakably old oil with an immeasurably thick doughy batter to obviously reduce their high cost of low grade chicken used and surely drenched with as much artificial sweet sauce that would accelerate any potential tumors or cancer cell growth in the healthiest of person, what do you do? What did I do? Kung pao is the go to in the most dreadful and desperate of situations. Look I know my bad Chinese food, a veteran of a war that had no winners, only shame, regret and diabetes. Why Kung Pao? Well, first of all if you know the joint had no chance of making any sauce based dish taste even remotely like food, the first step is to eliminate any heavy sauce based dish. Now I don't know about you but Kung Pao is supposed to be reasonably dry and relies more on peppers and fresh stir fried nuts with fresh veggies and chicken breast. Even the most bastardized of versions should be reasonably dry and passable as food. Ohhh, not here. Opening the styrofoam box, it was like being visited by the guardian angel in "A Christmas Carol", but instead of showing what my life would be if I was more generous and loving, it showed me what my life would be if I fucked up. A grim reflection of the possible bad times had and missed opportunities, a nightmare relived; that on the day you die, you will meet the person that you could have become. Reminds me of the time my friend took me drinking at Sun Ya in the ID on a weekday night, pointing out to the older group of riff raff and stating that, that's what we will be if we fucked up, no the irony is not lost on me that here we are 30 years younger and doing the same thing but I digress... Upon the first bite, I questioned my entire belief system. I came to the immediate conclusion that there can absolutely be no god. No god that is caring or loving would ever distill this unfiltered and raw punishment upon any of its subjects or creations. Free will should not come at this level of cost. What's wrong? 1. Worst chicken I have ever had, clearly heavily salted to mask the low quality and so old that carbon dating would not be able to accurately pinpoint the last time this animal was alive. 2. The 1 dumpling included in the box, interesting I thought, I started to play a guessing game in my mind. How much worse on a scale of "old Chinese news paper soaked with gutter oil" to "marginally worse than Costco frozen dumplings" can this be? Sadly, it was closer to old Chinese news paper soaked with gutter oil than it was to marginally worse than Costco frozen dumplings. 3. No sense of wok spirit whatsoever. Forget the nuts being golden and crispy or vegetables being properly cooked to bring out any sweetness. It was as if someone just tossed some things in a wok, added some water diluted oyster sauce and called it a day. 4. I don't care what anyone tells you, when you see a picture of an Asian restaurant serving any dish that is loaded with celery, RUN. Do not stop, run as far as you can in the other direction. The reason why they serve celery is because celery is basically free and takes up space yet celery is NOT a main ingredient in most Asian cuisine. Same with red peppers, half the box from hell was loaded with celery and red peppers. Look, I am no vegetarian but if I wanted to eat that much vegetables I would just have ordered the damn mapo tofu or blend them and drink the smoothie. Maybe my obsession with at least decent quality Asian cuisine prevents me from enjoying this monstrosity BUT let's look at the facts for a second, this box from hell costed $8.95 and judging by the other reviews, the service is no better. Why would anyone pay $8.95 for this? You can get twice the amount of food and 3 times the selection of sides at Safeway china express. Cafe Ori if you have to, so I ask again, why would anyone ever eat here? I don't get it.

King's is my future mother-in-law's favorite restaurant.... which of course translates to my least favorite restaurants ever right? King's is a mediocre authentic Cantonese restaurant where food is slapped together and served quickly and cheap. For lunch, they have a combination plates that for under $8 you can get a quarter of a duck, egg role and lots of boiled veggies + rice. For dinner, you can order from their special menu set to get a cheap meal as well. But like I said before, their food is sloppily made, over sauces, under seasoned and terribly presented. They also treat their Cantonese customers like gold and their mandarin customers like crap. Chinese discrimination at it's best. Dim sum is unedible. Please go somewhere else. Nothing is freshly made, they are all from frozen and re-steamed. So why did I give this place 2 stars instead of 1? Their cold chicken and BBQ duck are pretty decent for your buck and fill you up. But I'm pretty sure they outsource those 2 items from elsewhere so that's why they taste fine. Whether I like it or not, I will be stuck coming back here for indefinite amount of time.

King's Chinese Seafood Restaurant is seriously delicious. Okay, not the restaurant itself, but the food here is great and really reminds me of what you can get at the International District in Seattle, but on the Eastside. This restaurant serves a lot of authentic Chinese food at a decent price. There's also a lot of it. You're probably not going to leave this place hungry. Of course the same applies to just about every restaurant out there, but this one leaves you with a nice satisfied feeling and makes you crave more even after you're full. The really great thing about this place is that if you order at least six dishes from a pre-set list they have, they'll throw in a huge complimentary fish dish. They also include soup at the beginning and dessert at the end. What a great deal for $79.92 after tax! On top of that, service is fast and friendly. I'm not sure on the English names for a lot of what I got (maybe ordering from the Chinese menu isn't such a good idea when you're planning to review on Yelp), and I don't want to risk any inaccurate English translations, so I'll just describe what stood out to me. The beef and onion dish is simply superb. The slices of beef are cooked and marinaded very well, and it's a wonder how they're able to get it out within only ten minutes. The string beans here actually make me appreciate vegetables; they're vegetarian-friendly but given enough flavor so that I can still enjoy them. Same with their tofu--it's not the dull, tasteless kind that you get at other places. The tofu at this restaurant is soft, mushy, and juicy. With their seafood, too, you can't really go wrong. Anything with squid or shrimp is bound to be good. I have to spend some time talking about my favorite dishes here. The salt and pepper pork chop is super yummy. It doesn't look like it's loaded with MSG, but I don't think the pork chops really look like pork chops. Must be how they cook it. Probably the best thing they have, though, is the fried shrimp with scrambled eggs; if there's anything here you have to get, let this be it. It's basically what it sounds like plus green onions, but the eggs are soft and runny. I could easily eat a meal of just this stuff. So good! If you're not full after eating all the stuff you ordered here (and maybe even some you didn't order!), then you probably will be after having their green bean soup for dessert. It's a simple thick, sweetened soup of green beans. Way better end to a meal than fortune cookies. The place as a whole also beats a lot of similar restaurants on the Eastside. You might be able to get a better deal in the International District, but if you already live on the Eastside, then why pay that toll to cross the 520 bridge when there's already this restaurant here?

We have been to King twice, first time dinning in on a weekend with Dim Sum and second time for take out. Both time was total disappointment. Never going back there. I'm give a two star because if you are hungry and desperate for some Chinese food, ok to go there.

Enjoyed a decent dim sum here - prompt service and all the small dishes were pretty good and fairly priced. But really, the most memorable part was when a friend pointed out the cockroach(!) exploring the stack of styrofoam takeout boxes. Entertainment +1. Hygiene -2

Friendly and fairly attentive service in the dining room, but just boring mediocre (mama huhu) food at best coming out of the kitchen. I'm just not grooving with their greasy oil soaked spring rolls with fatty pork meat inside... served with the same hot sweet and sour sauce they serve in the sweet and sour chicken dinners... Lazy and uninspired.... The men's bathroom was also disgusting with the smell of urine in the air and also the view of urine all over the floor when I visited. It made me wonder what the kitchen looks like if the rest room is kept in that condition... My high school sports coach used to say a tie in a sporting event was like kissing your sister. I would say that I enjoyed this meal as much as I would enjoy kissing my sister if I had one... Is it "highway robbery" how restaurants like this have the cheapest soup option on the dinner menu priced around $7 or higher... What if I eat alone and just want a cup of soup? and what's up with this and how so many Seattle area restaurants are charging extra money for steamed white rice? Please... The food is train station quality and you are sticking it to the customers every way you can to make a buck... even charging extra just to get a small tea cup sized scoop of steam white rice? You would think tat white rice has the value of saffron by the way too many Seattle Asian restaurants ration it and upcharge you for it. We Seattle residents need to wake up and smell the coffee and realize that many our Chinese restaurants are seriously below par compared to many other parts of this country... What's up with that? We need to start calling it out every time and stop giving ridiculous gratuitous inflated ratings to restaurants that do not deserve them on Yelp. I am afraid King's is just going through the motion with soulless food... and joins a long list of meh Chinese restaurants around here that just cannot satisfy my deep hunger for awesome Chinese food in the Seattle area. When is some Chinese restaurant going to step it up to the next level? I'm waiting with eager chopsticks in hand...

We come there for dinner every week or so. Inexpensive, decent quality authentic Chinese food. Service is decent, too. Combo for 2 cost about $23 and there's so much food there was never a time when we were able to finish it all. Can't comment on the dim sum though - we go to a different place for that.

Won't be back. I'm as white a they come and love PF Chang's. This place is nothing like that. I guess it's authentic. If that is the case then I don't like authentic Chinese food The Mongolian beef was typical low quality fatty Chinese restaurant beef and it was a little too spicy. The dimsum was the same as noble court. Tastes like a bag of bones.

This is the closest dim sum place to our apartment so we do not have a lot of choices. That being said they have good food and do not typically try to pressure me into getting more food. It's my dim sum place while I live here.

Being Chinese, I love Chinese food but I would rather dumpster dive than ever return to King's. Between the crappy quality of food and the abysmal customer service, I'd have a better experience picking garbage out of Pioneer Square crack park and eating with the homeless folks. At least, they have won't argue with you. Ok, maybe but that's another story. So, what transpired you may ask? Well, I'm sick as a dog and dying for some congee (rice porridge) to soothe my sore throat. I ordered the congee and an order of the pan-fried shrimp and chives dumpling. I took a few bites and noticed the shrimp was partially undercooked. Just to check, I grabbed another piece and yep, it's not cooked all the way. You can always tell when shrimp is undercooked by its consistency and color. So, I call the waitress over and inform her of this. Well, she starts telling me that it's not possible b/c they cook it two ways, steamed and pan-fried. Well, I told her it's true, it's not fully cooked. So, she allowed me to substitute it for steamed shrimp dumplings. Everything could have been fine IF it ended there. But of course not. Another waitress, who my husband later told me was the owner, came over to see the undercooked shrimp. I proceeded to explain to her that it didn't taste cooked to me. Instead of apologizing like all other restaurant owners would have, she commenced to arguing with me that it can't possibly be true. I actually had to pick apart the damn shrimp dumpling to show her that it was still raw in the center. I told her you can the difference in raw shrimp. Like I'm really going to lie over a $3.00 dish to get it for free. She had no response and just walked away! Wow...what customer service for you! Besides the fact the food may get you sick, the quality is piss poor. The shrimp dumpling was overly salted and had a weird bitter taste. The pork and duck egg congee had pork that they eviscerated to the point of floss. The black sesame roll dessert was drenched with so much oil that the plate was covered in grease. You could have poured all that oil into a pan and cooked an entire meal with it. Lastly, for the love of goodness, how are you even called a Chinese restaurant when you give people lukewarm tea? You just need to bow in shame for eternity. I am done with this place.

Went there for dim sum and I have to say I was not impressed and I would not go again. The place it self was ok decor wise and the people were nice. The table was a bit sticky and maybe not the cleanest. The main disappointment was the food and the variety. There seemed to be 3 carts only going around with the same 4 choices on each. The food we did get was ok but not the most tasty. The prices were average as other dim sum places. I won't go back.

How do I hate thee, King's Chinese? Let me count the ways. You're all the way out here in Farvue. We made reservations since we had a group of 12+, and yet we still had to wait an hour to be seated. Your seafood dishes (fish and lobster) were awful, and had a funky taste to them - not spoiled, just... unusual. The jelly fish was far too salty. And your soup and tang yuan were terrible as well - how do you make bad tang yuan?! So, any saving graces? Not really. Most of the other dishes in your set menu were average to mediocre, although the walnut shrimp and e-fu noodles were actually decent. But, not enough so to bring me all the way out here. Almost a one star restaurant, but not quite, because I'd probably still come if someone were paying, but, well, let's say it'd take a whole lot of convincing, and some amazing company.

Been here a few times - and I'm probably leaning not coming here, at least for a long while. Service is decent - tables are spacious - and there's plenty of room where everyone can enjoy their meal. Food-wise, their Dim Sum is not something to crave for - and it tastes reheated. Considering that most of their Dim Sum is geometrically consistent, I would believe that these items are in fact replicated. I guess I'll continue my search for some good Dim Sum on the East Side and away from Downtown Bellevue, and it may be Little Taipei.

Im currently visiting the Seattle area want ing some good Dim Sum, King's did not disappoint. The pork shumai, sticky rice & beef meatballs all cooked to perfection & tasty. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us since my friends ordered chicken wings that are not usually available during the day. I was surprised to see how many negative reviews on here. But since I live in San Diego this is definitely what I consider superior Dim Sum. I will be back on every visit.

Came here for dim sum today and I haven't been here since they had remodeled the restaurant. It was called Ming Place before and now it is called Kings Seafood Restaurant. It is nice inside but the tables are very close to each other so it seems kind of squished. The lunch was a decent price of about $2.25 to $3.15 for each dim sum item and they had the usual items like hom bow, shiu mai, har gow and egg tart, but I did notice that they didn't have the black bean spareribs which is one of my staples. The one very bad thing about this restaurant is the service. First of all they don't have anyone to clear the dishes or have waiters around to flag for ordering things from the menu. All they had were the ladies pushing the dim sum carts. They were doing double duty of helping to clear the tables when they had time, but it was busy during the lunch hour and it took awhile to even get our tea refilled.

As someone who's had alot of dim sum in my time, King's is isn't bad. It's been a couple years since I last ate here, and I'm not sure if they changed ownership or chefs or both, but it's a bit of an improvement. I brought a large-ish group of coworkers here for lunch one day. They took our reservation by phone with very little advance notice, so that was awesome. When we arrived, our table was ready and we were seated immediately. The restaurant wasn't packed, but was almost full, being the lunch rush and all. A couple of my coworkers were well versed with this style of food, some had a little experience, and a couple were completely uninitiated. Everyone left with a pleasant experience. The service was fast and more friendly than you might expect at a typical dim sum restaurant. Prices were about on par, even by Bellevue standards. Sure, it might not be the best dim sum I've ever had, but it was pretty good and they featured an ample selection. I'll be back eventually, I'm sure.

I haven't eaten here in person, so I can't comment on the service but Kings is pretty dependable for Chinese takeout food. I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here, but now that it's around the corner from my Crossfit gym - they've been a huge life and time saver. Consistently good food (try the black pepper steak!), and the set menu dinners are a steal! 4 dishes + a free fish dish + soup + rice = $50. That could feed me for days!

When I walked in, my expectations were relatively high because everyone in the restaurant was Chinese. I was disappointed. The Hot and Sour Soup was not hot and barely sour. All of the sauces were really sweet, even the sauce on the Dry Fried String Beans, which shouldn't have any sweetness at all. It's better than Panda Express, but that only gets it up to a 2*.

Have been going to this restaurant for dim sum and dinner on & off in the last few years. The quality has been stable nothing great closed to where I live. What surprised me is they recently did a remodeling which make the restaurant looks cleaner and nicer compared with others in the area

We went to King's for dim sum on Mother's day instead driving all the way out to International District to celebrate. We have the reservation at 12pm and we were seated 10 minutes later even though we arrived 15 minutes early. I somehow like their dim sum than Jade Garden in Chinatown. Every dim sum we ordered was good and they were not skimp on their ingredients. Char siew bao, Loh Bak kao, har kaw, loh mai kai, sesame balls, fried roll noodles, bean curb rolls were all delicious. We will certainly return to their their a-la-carte menu sometimes soon.

The dim sum here is mediocre at best and rather pricey for the quality of food they serve. During lunch time the place can be either really empty or semi packed, I didn't really notice a trend on my visits. The food provided on multiple trips though were all lukewarm and the fried stuff was soggy and lacked flavor. I've been here for dinner many times and it's a lot better then what they serve for dim sum (lunch). This place however use to be pretty good, but has clearly gone down hill.

Went to King's for a going away lunch for a co-worker who swears by this place. I can say that I was less than impressed. It was her choice to have dim sum, so everyone jumped in on that, which was probably a bad choice as the the dim sum itself was nothing extraordinary and the service of the carts coming around the room was pretty slow. We had several vegetarians with the co-worker, who explained the situation in Chinese to the server, still had issues with finding any vegetarian dishes for them. I will not be returning.

This place was ok, not amazing but not bad. The service was fine. We tried the chicken fried rice, shrimp/pork dumplings, and the steamed BBQ pork buns. The fried rice was good, but its hard to mess that up. The dumplings and buns were just eh ok. I think international district has way better Chinese food.

This is for their dim sum, I have not had their cooked dishes yet, but I doubt I will return. I have had only one worse dim sum restaurant ever which is gam tong in Seattle. The xiao long bao, which was a disaster... (I should know better not to order it) the meat inside was mash. Utterly disgusting. I ordered chaozhou dumpling and it was cold inside. Within 5 minutes of eating these two dishes, I was out of their restaurant. I regret ever stepping in there and I felt the food floating in my stomach, my body unable to digest this rubbish. Although the service was good: the waitress offered to replace my cold dumpling even though I told her to save the hassle, I won't be back. I think the problem with this restaurant is the food being left on the steaming carts for way too long. In total, I spent about 30 dollars for three people to eat crappy food. Just terrible. Better to eat McDonald's than to step in here again. Heed my advice, the dim sum is inedible. Thinking about it now just makes me lose my appetite. If you are really craving dim sum and want to take a little bit longer drive for decent dim sum, go to Zen Garden in Mill Creek.

I would agree with the other reviews about having a better experience going with someone who speaks chinese. I don't but my friend did and I thought everything was tasty. I was here for dim sum. Looking around it was trying to be a nicer chinese restaurant they had very pretty chandeliers. My friend mentioned that they did do a little remodeling. I would say the food was fairly priced and don't be discouraged to try it if you don't have a interpreter I saw plenty of non chinese people enjoying their meals and got great service. I would probably go back whenever I am in the area but it's a little far from home for me.

This is a great place to come for good, homey Chinese food. The soups that you get at the beginning of the dinner are so good! I've tried to make them myself at home, but I think I'll leave it up to the experts. =P The salt and pepper pork chops are really good, and I'm also a huge fan of their fish hot pot. It's actually a whole pan fried fish that's comes out in a broth with pickled mustard greens, and the whole thing is kept warm over a small fire. I've never seen anything like this before, but I'm so glad I discovered it! Dim sum is also pretty decent if you're looking to come for a meal besides dinner!!

Went to dinner last nite. I guess the owner (the lady ) didn't smile or welcome at all . Don't know what is her deal. Bad customer services all time won't go back again !!! Food is too much msg !!!! I don't care much the food but at least customer services ! Bad food + bad services = no business !!! Can't wait to see them close down !!!

if I can give this restaurant a Negative 5 stars, I would. One of the worst dining experience in my life - crappy food and crappy service. I was there around 1pm for dimsum on Sunday, and by the time we left around 2pm, we only get to have 5 dimsum dishes. The crappy woman who pushed the steamed dim sum cart is stupid and slow. She would always push to the same direction every time - so one side of the restaurants are well fed, while the other half of the restaurants get the leftover chicken feet. I waited patiently (20 minutes) for her to finally made it to my aisle, and she PASSED me! When I said I haven't had the steamed dimsum, she said, "Oh! you looked like the customer who sat here before.... WTF??!!" The deep fryed dim sum are hard to get by too - the big tables get the good dim sum. If you have a party of 4 or less, you won't get the good stuff by the time the waitress made it to you. I tried to special order, but they never showed up. I finally gave up. Of the 5 dishes I had, they tasted sub-par. Even Safeway frozen dim sum tasted better than food here. And lastly, make sure you checked your bill - EVERY SINGLE CRAPPY ITEM they charged you. ASK TO SEE THE DETAILS, not just some numbers the owner pulled out of her crappy head.

Overall food, service, portion, and seating was all relatively decent no real wait time for a table on a saturday night(which is shocking). After being seated we ordered a set dinner menu which consist of four entrees with a house soup for starter and steam rice. #1 The house soup- was ok, just a plain broth with some added vegetable and other meat(strictly for flavor) #2 Cubed steak with XO sauce- was nicely chopped and flavored just right, not too spicy but just a little kick. #3 Salted fish chicken eggplant hot pot- hot pot came in a small metal pot on top of a plate. #4 Steam egg with (?) - I didn't care all too much for this dish. #5 1/2 free range chicken- The green onion ginger sauce was runny Final thoughts: Relatively inexpensive food on the east side(HUGE PLUS!), but the drivers here can't park/drive for shit!

This is my second time here and both have been for dinner. This second time, we came with a large party and right off, the waitress wanted to peddle the family style dinners on us as she did not give us regular menus, had to ask a couple times. First off, the service here sucks- I give it 1 star. It's pretty sad that as bad as the service is, I've come back just to get some decent Chinese food. Food: The food here is pretty good. We ordered the salt and pepper squid, shrimp and tofu soup, Mongolian beef, beef chow-fun, salt and pepper crab, ma-po tofu, and seafood hot pot with XO sauce. The food came out really good, with the salt and pepper squid and hot pot being excellent. Will I come here again? Probably......

I treat my family to Dim Sum every New Year's and for the last three years it's been here. The Dim Sum was a bit down on quality, and quantity available this year. There are several large Tables seating up to a dozen people and folks were waiting in the front for a seat so I was surprised that it seemed like they didn't prep for the crowd they have. We got full but there some regulars plates that were not served or we'd have to settle for one dish of an item to be fought over twelve of us. The wrapped sticky rice just had spiced beef in it. And the calamari was almost uneatable. A big reason I go there is they actually take reservations and keep them. I've tried Top Gun and Noble Court, making reservations and then when I arrive early they have not reserved anything. Top Gun even said to my face that they didn't take reservations after they had taken mine a week earlier. Another reason is that there is great Dim Sum in Seattle but it's a mob scene, no reservations, can't handle large groups and it's a drive when one lives in Bellevue. I guess I'll take my chances at getting a table at Noble Court.

Let me start with the positive. The dim sum is authentic and well done. I believe many of the items are made from scratch in house and not reheated frozen dim sum. We did enjoy the food, but the service and ambiance destroyed the 3.5 star food. Service here is haphazard and a bit schizophrenic. We had food on our table and beverages in less than 5 minutes when we arrived at 1:30pm on Sunday, but be forewarned that the ENTIRE staff stops for a meal at 2:30pm. If you are not going to serve us for 60 minutes then post hours that end at 2:30 and then reopen at 3:30. Don't ignore your hungry customers! Once the lunch was over the server was less than helpful and upset that we wanted to eat/order more. We left the restaurant hungry! Sadness.

After walking to the nearest place to eat from Discount Tires, I found this Chinese restaurant and ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken...if I only knew. I basically ate deep fried grissel with cold bbq sauce on top...it was so off that I ate one bite, left a 10 on the table and walked next door to JT's for a sandwich.

I like that they are happy to make something that's not on the cart and bring it out to you. That's always a plus for me, especially when having lunch with pesky vegetarians who can only eat seafood and vegetables. Dim sum is a great meal for carnivores as there's a bunch of little meat-filled dishes. The seafood is secondary, but the other day when a bunch of us went to lunch they had scallops. And my favorite: deep fried crispy taro thingers! Yay! Tea was replenished quickly, which was great as some of the items are plenty greasy (in a good way). It might just be time of day, but going right around 12:30 for lunch during the weekday was perfect. No waiting, food cart came around frequently and we were happy. Happy is good.

Tried dimsum at this place with my family the other day. Not that great...everything taste bland. Noodles were too chewy and the chicken feet tasted sour. Not sure about the food on their dinner menu, but the dimsum was no good. There was a lot of asian people at the place though and it was pretty busy, but I will not be coming back. I'll stick to my usual top gun.

This place is insanely close to my work, so it's a good default place to go to when your stomach can't handle an indian buffet or mcdonalds. It's also nice that they serve dimsum until late lunch (about 2pm I think), so if i ever wanna ditch work and get some chicken feet or honey walnut prawns, i'm there! (yea that's right, chicken feet) not the best place i've ever been to and they didn't seem to have the most variety (at least on the day that i happened to go), but they did bring out things that i've never seen at dimsum before, so i would want to go back to try those exotic items. they had chinese eggplant, lots of tofu dishes, and types of dumplings i've never seen before. i give this place the ol' robert approval, but if i wanted to ZOW my friends with a great dimsum restaurant, this would probably go on the bottom of the list

King's is really a Chinese restaurant where you absolutely NEED to go with someone who speaks or reads Chinese. I've been here twice. Once with Chinese speaking people and once without (note: I'm Chinese but I don't speak/read). Two entirely different experiences... from 5-stars (with super secret Chinese menu) to 1-star (the "American" menu).

I like occasionally trying a new ASian place out. Now and then I find a winner. Tried this out for lunch yesterday. Food was horrendous; couldn't get half of it down. Even the rice was bland and overcooked. I've been eating Asian food for 30 years, all over the country and Asia. There are some really lovely places in Bellevue - this is NOT one fo them. You have many better alternatives.

I've been dining here for awhile now, and I didn't notice how poorly rated this place is Personally I'm not a dim sum guy, so I don't know how the dim sum is, but lunch/dinner. This place has a great selection for great price. They serve about 20 different dishes with rice and "slow cooked" Chinese soup for dinner - all for about 20 bucks or 25 if you count the tips. Normally when I go there, it's usually packed. I would stay away from anything too American or fried though, I think it's too oily. There's the Spicy wine fish that I normally get, and the veggies are often pretty fresh. When I try more dishes, I'll write more... but so far I'm a happy camper.

I come here for one thing: the salt and pepper calamari. It's not Noble Dragon but it gets the job done since I can't go driving all the way to Snowqualmie every time I want good Chinese. They have dim sum during lunch and honestly it's kind of annoying how they keep coming by your table when you've ordered off the regular menu. But whatever. I like this place and frequent for lunch when I decide to eat out or I forgot to bring my lunch!

bellevue's dim sum choices seem to be shrinking! i've come here a couple times for dim sum but not for dinner since the owner change. i am literally only 2 blocks away and keep coming back here only cause of convenience and that it's pretty cheap (by east side standards). food is usually pretty hot but recently, not so fresh (my sticky rice in lotus leaf). service is brisk and helpful (not sure if it's because i speak cantonese, tho) but i'd rather have surly old chinese ladies and outstanding dim sum than vice versa (you want both service AND great dim sum? you better grab your passport and head to BC). i'm not sure if i'll be going back anytime soon, unless i'm THAT hung over.

My favorite time to visit King's is on weekends for dim-sum. After 12PM it can get quite busy. But the reasons to stop here: fast, hot main stream dim sum with good service, plenty of parking at a reasonable price. Nothing fancy, but the calamari is my favorite anywhere. Order it from the kitchen and it comes hot, crisp tender and salty with plenty of garlic and jalapeno... mmm! Other fav's are dim-sum stand bys: soy-sauce chow mein, Chinese broccoli, sticky rice in a leaf & honey prawns. Hot, greasy and delicious just the way I like it!

I don't really understand in Dim Sum, but I know disgusting and over-priced food when I have it... Everything I tried was tasteless, mushy, soggy with oil, indistinguishable meats, weird smell and a bad case of upset stomach afterwards. Oh, and the price tag was the worst part. Never EVER again.

  • David W.

The dim sum was good, but the lines made for long waits. We thought we had a reservation, but it seemed to make no difference to our wait time. But it's hard to find fault in a restaurant that attracts crowds while also hustling about. It just seemed a bit overly unruly, and they ran out of various dishes when we asked for them -- I guess making more was out of the question.

Alright Yelpers, my 9 year old son's favorite restaurant is Kings! He's sitting next to me shocked that it only has a 2.5 star rating! If you have kids, they'll love the dim sum (shrimp and beef wrapped rice noodles, shrimp balls, beef dumplings, and sticky rice)! You can't go wrong with their beef dry fried chow fun either! If all 3 of my boys like it, that speaks volumes!

I have only eaten dim sum here so I cannot comment on their evening fare. We have come here for dim sum for the last 3 years. My 6 year old daughter loves this place because of the chicken feet. She eats a whole dim sum bowl of those herself. Other favorites my children are the shrimp dumplings and the pork dumplings. My husband and I love the eggplant and vegetable dishes as well. The mango pudding for dessert is always a hit with the kids as well as the breads. It is not the best dim sum I have ever had but it is okay. It is really the only dim sum place we know of around our area. If you are expecting the exceptional dim sum you might find in Hong Kong or in California even you find it here. Having said that it is still decent and whenever my in-laws come (they are Taiwanese) we take them here and they enjoy it too. The price is so so. For a family of 6 we spent over $50 so it is not cheap. We will continue to come here for special occasions or when the urge for dim sum is strong.

Worst experience ever... extremely slow service, very limited number of dim sum choices and incorrect billing ( they really should find an honest people to do this task ....) . If you have to go to this place, pay attention to the bill. ....

I Love the Dim Sum here. It's comparable to the ones I have at home. Yes, the service is not good and pretty chaotic. The seating areas are quite odd as well. If you don't speak the language, try to get a table out front by the isle otherwise your chances of eating are slim. A few times, one of the waitress has been really nice and she carried the food to me on the 2nd level. In order to eat at a Dim Sum joint, be aggressive and walk over to the person with the cart and pick what you want or ask a waiter to get it for you if you know what you want. I keep telling my friends but they never learn. Never expect good service at a Chinese restaurant and if you get somewhat decent service, consider yourself lucky. Bring your token Chinese/Asian with you.

I ordered the sweet and sour chicken to go, there was one pot sticker in the box with it. I also ordered the vegetable chow mien, not crispy, but it was. This place is fine when you don't have a lot of time. But if you're looking for good pick up or sit down, don't waste your time here.

went back again, and had some really good pork buns and beef balls ( they looked like meat balls except that they were all beef. ) My Asian friend told me that you can tell whether a Chinese restaurant is really Chinese by seeing amount of chineese people there. I am sure that this was really a Chinese place unlike pf changs that claims to be Chinese.

After Jeem closed, we've been looking for a decent dim sum place in the eastside. We never ate here when it was Ming's. Finally tried out its dim sum today. It was not bad. The selection was limited, probably because we were there after 1pm. Har Gou was made with large fresh shrimp that were properly deveined, although the skin was really sticky; shu mai was good; rice noodles good; the xiao long bao were pretty blend and tripe under seasoned. Overall I'm just glad there's a place we can have some dim sum close to home.

  • Bob E.

Three of us had dim sum for lunch here and found the food to be tasty and fresh. I'm a fan due to the food quality, not the speed. We are very happy to have a good Dim Sum place not too far from Microsoft after the demise of the other two previously good Dim Sum places on the eastside. Tip: do NOT let them sit you on the elevated floor sections if you want dim sum. The steam carts don't go up the stairs so they have someone put dim sum on a tray and carry it up to the elevated section tables twice per hour with somewhat less than complete selections. So, for dim sum, be absolutely sure you get a table on the main floor. Avoid steps, get good food, simple.
