I was excited to see Bake's Place open up in Bellevue, a promising music venue with dinner service! The website was so confusing, I had put off visiting. When attempting to make a dinner reservation, only a 6 PM reservation was available, dinner seating at 6 PM, show begins at 8 PM. I wasn't sure if that meant we had to sit around for two hours, and it didn't sound fun! A friend finally talked me into going to happy hour and it was okay. They offer one house white wine for $4 and one house red wine for $4. I ordered the sweet potato fries for $6 and they were pretty tasty. I also ordered the $6 mini crab cakes, which were, hmm, not even sure what to say. When they say mini, they mean two teeny tiny, itsy bitsy, doll size crab tastes - not worth ordering again. Did the rest of them get eaten on the way to our table? Did they fall on the floor? Get crab-napped? This mystery will haunt me! The happy hour menu is pretty limited and based on my experience with the two items I ordered, I would say this venue is more about the music than the food. I would be very hesitant to order dinner if the food I sampled were any indication of the quality to be expected. They do have a burger special on Thursdays, but I am not sure what that means exactly since the web site is free of any useful details. Once the music begins, conversation at your table is simply unacceptable and you will find out on short order if you dare speak! They wised up and have limited the cover charge to weekends, which is simply automatically added to your bill. I may visit again for HH with my friends just so they can check out the place or if I am craving a cheap glass of $4 no name wine. Maybe see what the Thursday burger special is, I must know these things! If I am really in the mood for some music, I will be back again, after having dinner at Seastar.

In the past, my friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful food and entertainment at Bake's Place. However, on 2/1, Super Bowl 2015, our party experienced a humiliating and condescending encounter with the manager. When we made the reservation, we were not informed of the mandatory $40+ charge per person. After being there for 2.5 hours, the waitress told us we had to spend the additional amount to make our bill go up to the $40 per person surcharge. The manager spoke to our host, an elderly woman in a wheel chair with MS, in a confrontational tone. When we told him that we had not been informed of the $40 charge when we made the reservation, he said, "It's on the website," very sternly. When I said, that I had never seen the website, the manager retorted, "You SHOULD see the website." I replied, most people don't look at a website before going to a restaurant. He claimed that I was shouting at him and that he was throwing me out and calling the police. As we were leaving, before the end of the game, he said, "it's funny that you're the only one in the dark because everyone else here knows this." Yet, no one in our party of 8 and no one at the table next to us knew anything about it. After he demanded that we leave and threatened to call the police if we did not leave. We were escorted out of the restaurant in gestapo fashion. What had been an uplifting and fun time with our friends, suddenly turned into a horrific incident that left us feeling angry and embarrassed. Sadly, it is beyond our integrity to recommend this restaurant to any of our friends and associates. The manager's actions were unnecessary and unprofessional. We had to share this terrible experience because we don't want anyone else to have to go through such a regrettable encounter. ( :

I have been to Bakes Place a few times. I love seeing my favorite cover band, Kalimba Tribute - Earth, Wind & Fire. My very first visit was accommodating. Not knowing how the place "worked,"...I showed up, paid a $22 cover charge, and sat with friends who invited me. Drinks were expensive, and food was overpriced but I was in Bellevue, so it was the "norm." ...The food was just, well, food....nothing really wrong, but nothing exciting. My next visit was in October when I saw the Kalimba was playing there again so I rallied a table of approx. 20 of my friends and we all had a good time. I told them all it was a $22 cover and to pay at the door. Although, I witnessed the table before us STILL trying to clear up the whole "separate check issue." I've been in the food biz for over 25 years and know the nightmare that sep checks USED TO be....but with current computer systems, I know this to be very easy now for servers. It took excessively long and I witnessed Bakes Place almost accusing the guest of being in the wrong and making things difficult. I had a good experience and even got to know the owners a bit, or so I thought. Last night was horrible. Being a former owner in the food industry, I couldn't believe what I experienced. We called in a table for 14 and I was instructed to hold it with a credit card. I arrived at the door and they said it was a $31 cover tonight. I asked why such an increase and owner, Laura said "the band did it." I reluctantly paid it (as I had gotten ready and had driven an hour already). Then I had to embarrassingly explain to each one of my friends re: the increase. 5 of my friends were no shows ( for various reasons, and yes, I know this happens. I purposely ordered more drinks (including bottles for the table) on my check to try and make up for the difference for my server. ( I have a heart for servers, as Ive been there and realize what a HARD, but lucrative, job it is). My server, Salvatore, was and is amazing - BTW. However, after the show, he came over and explained that He was instructed to add 5 more cover charges on my bill - totaling an EXTRA $150! I was irritated by this but knew I' d have a conversation with the owner to square things away. I explained to Craig, the owner, that it is beyond my control whether people show up or not, and it was inappropriate that he make me pay for each one of them. He stood his ground and said that he lost so much business by not having these 5 spots filled. Like I said, I've been in the industry many years and understand that .....to a point. However, I have brought in many people from the South end and have been continuing to promote Bakes Place for months. I even tried to compromise, giving him an option to salvage a relationship with me by saying "Fine...Ill pay, but let me and my 2 friends at least stay for the next show. " He said "Can't do that." This is where it all went South... By this time,my friends have been waiting for a half an hr for me and I was becoming furious that an OWNER wouldn't have the mindset of "the customer is always right"....or the "power of one."... ESPECIALLY in this day and age of so many options and places to go. I told him I'd never return, I'll watch Kalimba elsewhere, of course.... And I'll be happy to tell all of my friends about this experience via word of mouth, social media, etc....and that he may want to rethink this attitude (all over $150). He said, and I quote......he' s "received 'threats' like this before... So whatever." THREATS???.... No, just facts ( as we all have social media access and some of us are more connected than others).....Then it escalated as the male bartender and a female bar back said, " you need to leave now. You' re not welcome here." Being in shock over my treatment, I took a few photos of those lovely people and when i did, the bartender said he was going to call the cops. Lol I cant remember a time I left an establishment in a stupor. I've learned over the years, and from the many awesome establishments that I've either created or worked for....that yes, you CAN'T please everyone....but you CAN bend over backwards for others and at least TRY to come to a compromise to salvage a relationship... Especially with a guest who you KNOW is connected and spends quite a but when she dines! Bakes Place, FLAT-OUT doesn't care about the guests....just the money...And THAT is a recipe for failure. So, good luck...I, nor any of my friends will be back. EVER! (...and WE will happily spread the word). Thank you Kalimba Tribute for all you do to bring joy, love & music to people's lives....and to our server Salvatore, let me know if you need a hook-up for another job. I know a couple places you would be exceptional at. BTW - If you've never heard of "the power of one" re: the food industry...here's - great blog link that explains the same concept: impactbnd.com/blog/the-i…

Wow! I was blown away by the music and energy at Bake's place. I went on a crowded and busy Saturday night, and ended up dancing my pals with strangers to the high energy salsa/latin music I would recommend this place if you love live music, but don't want to head into Seattle. FYI, it can get pretty noisey, so conversation is hard to keep. The wine list seemed decent, my Syrah was tasty. I did not have any food, but the dessert menu was tempting me all night. FYI there is a $15 cover charge, per person that is added to your bill. It is worth it! Trust me! I can't wait to go back and dance the evening away again.

Actual rating = 4.5!! I love this place, and so happy to see something like this open up in Bellevue. Top-notch entertainment, no cover through Thursday, and supportive of local community as well. This place has the best sound I have heard in one of these places. Service was good, owners made an appearance and the food was decent. I would give the venue a 5, and the food a 3 based on quality and value. But I am really there for the venue and not expecting SeaStar quality, so overweighting a bit on that. It is a bit pricey on the drinks, etc., but you also have to figure they won't see the turnover other restaurants might, given that people are listening to music... There is no cover through Thursday.

I work in downtown Bellevue close to Bake's Place and have never eaten there (still haven't). My husband, daughter and I walked in today to eat lunch and we were told that if my 2 year old daughter wasn't "loud" or "screaming" then we would be allowed to eat there for lunch. If you don't allow children, a simple "No" would suffice. It's safe to say we won't be back, even for a date night without our potentially "loud" or "screaming" kiddo. Not impressed Bake's Place, judging from some of your other reviews, your customer service needs a little work. It's too bad because I always like to support our local family owned businesses.

Not long after I wrote my last review, they changed the lunch special that was so baller. It now costs about $1.00 more, and no beer. We stopped going.

Happy Hour at Bake's Place was awesome! They had a great selection of food and drinks. I saw some great healthy choices. I had a great beet spinach salad and brussell sprouts that were amazing. Doesn't sound like it would be but it was. Location is a little hard to get to during the day but at 4pm they validate in the parking garage so no need to worry. I am so excited to see a show on the weekend. I will definitely be back.

Go for the food and stay for the music! You don't often expect great food at a great music venue, but I've been pleasantly surprised by Bake's Place. I've been for both lunch and dinner now and both times the cuisine has been top notch. The service was excellent, the band fantastic, the ambience unparalleled, and just an all around good time. And their patio is awesome... It's huge and yet somehow still feels cozy with the tall trees that make you forget you're in the middle of Bellevue's high rises. We will be back!

New menu at Bake's Place which is a downgrade from prior menu - likely to attract weekday workers' penchant for mediocre bar food. Bring back Diver Scallops! Cheese Plate: 9/10 - very good with homemade preserves Ginger Baker Cocktail: 1/10. Horrendous Orange Julius gone bad, way too sweet, funky and unpleasant after note. Drank a few sips and gave up. Bartender said 40% get returned! Seriously! Maybe that tells you something. Then bartender blamed the recipe - LOL. Stay far away Burger: 3/10 - Ordered medium, came well but told that new meat shows darker than cooked. Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. Flavor was good just dry and had 50% more bun than necessary. That and their fancy bun disintegrated on the burger making it a fork an knife item. Potato salad: 3/10 - Tasty, at least the part where the cook actually diced the potatoes. One lump served with burger. 3/4 of serving was three large chunks of potatoe. The 1/4 of reasonable cuts were nicely seasoned. Wine By Glass Menu: Pricey, quick checks on bottles showed prices 4X over BevMo prices. I don't blame them as now that the menu is downgraded they need the revenue increase. That being said, for $14 a glass, lets have something decent.

$5 beers for Happy Hour is a joke. Especially when they're 16 oz. And those "16oz" glasses probably aren't 16 ounces. You can get a SIX PACK of high quality beer for $7-$8. They must pay their people $50,000 salaries. And charge us to pay for them. And tip. Seriously there's great places around town that have imperial pints for less than $5 and they're charging $5 for "16" oz. PLUS TAX!

All Jazzed Up About Nothing My recommendations for the restaurant: 1. Find a way to post your night's entertainment outside and let us know it's sold out, before people park and need ticket validation to get out of the garage. 2. Treat everyone who walks through your doors like respected guests, even those without reservations. If you don't want the bother, don't open the patio or bar for service. 3. Give your hostesses a break - they're trying to do too many tasks at once. A manager should be at the front desk coordinating the event. It looks like a mess up there. I was very disappointed with our experience at Bake's on a Friday evening. As another reviewer noted, there is absolutely no information listed at the restaurant about a cover for the evening's entertainment, that reservations are required, or about the fact that the patio is only open until 8pm. We arrived at 6:45pm, looking for a quick bite and some ambiance after a long day of work. They hostesses gave us that look that let us know that since we didn't make a reservation for the eve, we'd be treated as second-class guests. And that's exactly what happened. The informed us that the patio was open, but only until 8pm. Since there was still an hour and 15 minutes left, they should have been happy to seat us, but it was definitely more of a burden to do that. The hostess are responsible for too many tasks - taking reservations, seating people, answering phones, handling the payments of the tickets, etc. We were not a priority for them at that time. Once outside on their beautiful patio, our waitress took our order for drinks and dinner, but then never brought us place settings - I had to walk inside and take them from open tables. The runner brought our food to the wrong table before I flagged him down. Other guests on the patio received the same lack of attention and we all had a group laugh about it. NOT the experience you want to share with your fellow diners. Unless there's a music group I really want to see at Bake's, I won't be returning any time soon.

The bartenders are really friendly. The vibe is good. The food is pretty good on the happy hour menu. I especially enjoy the blue cheese dates wrapped in bacon and the truffle fries. Yum!

Great place to meet friends or bring out of town guests. I didn't even know they had a patio, what a great summertime spot! (If they could just move that one big building that blocks part of the afternoon sun it would be perfect) The day we went there was music outside until 9pm, then another band inside after 9. Great music, beautiful food and wonderful setting. No cover charge for this trip but I also came here for a birthday event where there was a band with a cover (well worth the $20). Not sure why they do not have a small dance floor because it is obvious there are people who would love to get up and dance later at night. Fun Place! I can't remember how I first got on the mailing list but I enjoy getting the emails keeping me informed what is going on. It motivates me to get out there and listen to some great music. The servers are super attentive. The fireplace seating on the patio is amazing for a group of 8-12.

Me likes it!!! Very civilized venue, tasty food, attentive service, and enjoyable entertainment too... Better than most pretentious over rated posing venues in downtown Bellevue!!! A little pricey of course, but that is Ok as long as they don't raise those prices any further in the near future... Also, keep that live music playing! That is the key to being four vs. three stars.. Nice job Bake... Your place is my place too now!!!

Here we go... I was at Bake's Place for a well-deserved company happy hour. I live in Dallas, but I remembered John, who took care of my group on a previous visit. Turns out, it was his last day. John introduced me to Craig and Laura, the owners of Bake's Place. My group left and Craig was gracious enough to ask me to join him, Laura and Chef Chris Peterson, John and a couple of others to celebrate John's last night as he moves to another great opportunity. Craig and Laura treated me as if I'd known them forever and I am not one to forget that rare type of kindness. The food is excellent, wine list amazing, but what I can never put a price on is good people. What Craig and Laura don't know is that I met an amazing person who was part of our group that night. We are on our way to becoming good friends. I will let them know how it goes... I highly recommend Bake's Place and you can bet it will be a stop of mine whenever I am in Bellevue. All the best to you from Dallas, TX. Charles

Went here to see Kalimba (great Earth Wind & Fire Tribute Band that plays there about once a month) and had a great time. The venue is really nice and it's really classy. It can be expensive for dinner + tickets to see the bands, but if you need a date night, this is a fun place to go. They also validated our parking, which helps when you come in from out of town.

Ambiance was great but food was not very good, especially for the price. We had the trout and the chicken - they were just OK. Also, not an impressive wine selection by the glass.

My new favorite place. I liked going there even before they opened the deck which is an awesome addition. I love sitting out there with a glass of wine, listening to music and visiting with friends. I also love that they serve a good happy hour wine with a good size pour. My favorite is the gourmet burger although I have thoroughly enjoyed almost all of the meals we have had. Fun, fun, place for a Friday or Saturday night to listen to live music.

First of all. I read about Bake's Place in 425 Magazine....I was very excited and couldn't wait to go! I LOVE music. I planned to have a few friends meet for my Fiance's birthday dinner and was so excited to surprise him with this place. The Con - Well here is my story - The owner Laura. I called in to make reservations and asked if they did anything for birthdays. She said no. I then said ok, well I guess I will just bring in my cake and that will be good enough. She then says "Oh, we don't allow outside food"...wtf? It's for a birthday, what restaurant doesn't allow a freakin birthday cake. She says they will loose revenue. (If I would have been smarted and found this out before 24 hours of my reservations...Laura would have lost revenue from me period). I told her I'm bringing it...it's for a birthday and the cake is already ordered. She then says I will have to charge you a cutting fee...I said I will cut my own cake, thank you. She wanted to argue with me. I am furious at this point and wanting to reach thru the phone and smack this person upside their head. Why is this person being so rude an difficult for what's supposed to be a happy occassion? Laura, your customer service SUCKS. She had an attitude almost the entire time on the phone. On top of this, later that night, our friends are seated and I bring in my Fiance. I then find out that 2 people have cancelled on me...great, now they want to charge me their cover charge plus a minimum food/drink fee which a total of $40. They also said why don't we just seat a couple a strangers at you table and they will waive the fee. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? I told them I would pay...whatever. Why in the hell would I let them interrupt a special occassion. IT ALL COMES DOWN TO MAKING MONEY. The owners do not care about customer service...just money. The Pro - Yes, I have Pros - The servers were at least very attentive and genuinely nice. The establishment itself has a great atmosphere and the band we saw (The Side Project) was great! (Except there was a female "groupie" that was clearly drunk and wanted to stand in front of me to take video. I kindly asked her 5 times to please move aside and she said wait. I held my composure because at this point I can flip out on anyone) Food is OK....not great. So...some points...don't have a special occasion celebration here, it will only cause your blood pressure to go up. Do go to listen to some great music with a glass of wine.

I opted for a take out lunch today. I ordered their grilled chicken club and, again, was very impressed. What makes this sandwich stand out from any other chicken sandwich is the delicious tomato jam (next time I'll ask for a side), the brioche bun and the apple smoked bacon. I chose potato salad as my side which is made with baby reds, bacon and green onions. Not a big fan of potato salad typically, however, I've ordered this twice in a row now. Get some!

This was the place for my Birthday celebration and I was very excited when I found out. My Fiance was actually quite upset about her experience in getting the reservations set up. She felt that it was more a concern about making money rather than helping the customer. I actually know the Owners and she forgot that I suppose. Anyhow, the ambiance is extremely impressive, as was the band on 11/9/13...my Bday. The food was honestly average but the variety was impressive. The 6 others that were there also were impressed with the set up and how lively and upbeat the entire place was. I typically go to Boxely's in North Bend but this is much nice and much closer. I'm giving this 4 stars because the ambiance and band was that impressive; the food can be fixed/improved I'm sure. I plan on going back next weekend and will update down or up 1 star, hopefully this place will be our new weekend hang out spot.

Beautiful Restaurant!!! The music is phenomenal! The food is fabulous!!! I would come every day for those bacon wrapped dates!!! The Rosemary Pork is the best pork dish I've ever had!!!! My husband and I rarely get out and after my experience here this is our absolute favorite spot in Bellevue. I can't wait till the weather is nice... The patio I hear is amazing!!

Decent summer spot for the patio seating but the interior space is a bit odd. The sandwiches were just okay and the service is a hit or a miss. Gave it a couple tries but there are plenty better spots in Bellevue - no good reason to go back.

Hold the phone... there is a $15 cover per person that isn't advertised (at the restaurant - I realize now it's online but when you're walking by and see the venue and decide to stop in it's not announced) or mentioned when you speak to hostess about seating, it just shows up on your bill!! The venue is so loud that my ears are ringing and probably will be for some time. I had no idea I was going to a concert, I thought it was going to be a medium loud to loud-ish event but this was louder than some rock concerts I've been to in Seattle. It took 20 minutes for one glass of wine and an hour from the time we ordered our dinner to the time it arrived. The food is okay but over priced. I had $10 gnocchi and cheese in a tomato sauce which I felt was a good deal but then I also ordered some $25 "crispy chicken" dish. It was a super dry chicken breast about the size of a thy in a bed of rice with what appeared to be Chinese broccoli. I realize this place has good reviews and for some people I'm sure it's an amazing experience but looking at the reviewers most of them have placed under 5 reviews. Coincidence? I would never go back and I would go out of my way to suggest other people don't go out of principal. The cover charge won't break my budget but don't make it a secret and then expect that I'm going to happily pay it.

Just went to Bake's Place last night for the first time and was completely blown away by the music from Charles Mack and company. The last song Charles said he sings for his mom was soul wrenching. The guitarist Raphael made his guitar cry like no one I've ever seen. There are great musicians and then there we those who Josephine Howell said are truly free to play from their soul. Charles Mack and company did just that and it was amazing to have witnessed their performance. The venue is extremely intimate placing you at most three tables away from the performers. It is also rather upscale which makes for a perfect place to celebrate those special occasions like our anniversary last night. The food was good and the pasta in particular was great! However, I wouldn't say this is a foodie's place to hang out but couple the good food with amazing music, Bake's Place rocks! If you are looking for a place to chat with friends, go someplace else. Because you are so close to the musicians, you can't hear any one other than the person right next to you. Some reviews here think this is a problem which of course it is if you aren't here to listen but to talk. If you are looking for some awesome music and great food, head over to Bake's Place and get ready to be entertained.

Finally! A fabulous jazz venue has opened in Bellevue! My husband and I had been planning to check out Bake's Place since we heard about it and our anniversary was the perfect occasion. The music provided by DoctorFunk was fantastic, sharp and tight. The saxaphones were sharp and sweet, the trumpets tight and the guitars and keyboard reminiscent of the best funk and R&B performers. They even played one of our favorites by Maceo Parker for us as an anniversary treat! The acoustics made being seated fairly close up comfortable and not overly loud. Food was very well prepared and a nice change from the fried and bar fare at many nightspots. The wine list was extensive and tastes of p/glass offerings help you choose just the right one. The host, Craig Baker, worked the room introducing himself to the guests which added the feeling of being "part of the family". Needless to say, we'll be back and not just on our anniversaries!

This was my second time at Bake's. Food, service, atmosphere, and music are great. I have to say that I sat next to Matt P, who also reviewed tonight. Gotta say he was an angry dude who complained about everything in spite of everyone going out of their way to make him happy. He even criticized the band, even though he said he had seen them 4 times! Anyway, the drink recommendations and wine selection were excellent, as were the cheese plate and service. I will be back again.

I took my fiancee to Bake's Place mainly to see the band, Impossible Bird, that was playing there last Saturday. The seating woman was very nice, and validated my parking slip, which wasn't something I was expecting. As I had made a reservation, we were seated immediately, and the service was prompt despite the amount of guests present. Some people have complained that the restaurant does not effectively notify guests of cover charges that are in effect for most weekend performances. If they would look at the website, they do notify guests of this, and show the amount whenever you make a reservation online. They also tell you what the cover charge will be if you make a reservation over the phone. Those people that say they didn't know about the cover charge until they arrived either weren't paying attention on the phone, online, or did not make a reservation at all (which for a place like this, it's kind of common sense to make a reservation in the first place). I was also fully aware of the $20 minimum for food and drink (per person), which I find completely fair. The restaurant makes no money off the cover charge, as that goes directly to the performer, and if people were to just show up and get water all night, the place would make no money. I realized shortly after we had arrived, that I probably should have worn something other than shorts, because I was starting to get condescending glances from some of the other guests at the restaurant. I was wearing a nice button-up shirt and plaid shorts, so I wasn't looking grubby in any way, but I am not used to the Bellevue culture, so I'm sure I was breaking some unspoken rule or something. Regardless, the staff did not treat me as such, and were very welcoming and attentive to our table. Now on to the food. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had. When they say gourmet, they mean it. I also had a beverage called the Dizzy Gillespie, which had coffee, Bailey's Irish Creme, and some other, much stronger, alcohol in it. My fiancee was also very happy with the food. I believe she got a chicken club of some kind. All in all, it was a wonderful night, and both my fiancee and I felt very well taken care of, and made sure to tip very well. I would definitely recommend this place for a fancy night-on-the-town.

Bake's is located in the building I work in, and I'm so glad! I don't think I would have otherwise found this great place. The service is friendly and gracious, and the food is really tasty. I have not had one thing I wasn't satisfied with. Prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is comfortable and unpretentious.

Awesome, I love the Burger and Beer night on thursdays. Also try the Duck Taco's...yeah Duck Taco's they are great. Good Music. No more cover on the weekdays! And I think it might be a bit easier to talk over the band now. This is a really cool spot and very classy, great place to take a date and get some brownie points ;).

Enjoyed going to the open of this fun new place! Adding yet a new flavor to Bellevue you better not be all about the VIP, because here it's all about the entertainer! With Dinner and live shows you must make a reservation, but it's worth it! Great menu and pricing!

If you're 85 years old and are craving some live music with no dance floor and awkward dining (people are eating a few feet from the band) this place is for you. To anyone born after 1893 I would suggest avoiding this place unless you're in the mood to destroy your evening off while wasting 50-60 bucks.

Okay, so the decor and venue are fab - love the wall behind the performers and the cozy atmosphere for relaxation and unwinding - the music itself was great, especially for the 40plus aged crowd who were there. However, a few huge negatives - one, the food - some of the worst I have had in Bellevue - bland, out of a package antipasti plate, fishy smelling crabcakes, overly smoky bacon wrapped dates and the ugliest looking pulled pork tacos I have ever seen...too bad to mention! Additionally, the singers that night looked like they needed to be thrown in the shower a few times to get rid of the grease build up - it was unappetizing to eat and watch them at the same time....expect a little more class in all aspects for a place in downtown B-View!

Best night me and my wife had in a long time! We had great service for the bar, we didn't eat but everything looked great and smelled better. The best part of the night was the live band the SOUL MATES they rocked the house all night!!! We defiantly will be back.

We saw Dr. Funk last night and has a great time. Beautiful place. Would have been 5 star except for my beer experience. Draft Stella poorly poured in a warm pounder glass. I expected better at such a nice place.

I was a little hesitant to try this place due to early reviews- I thought there was a cover every night and had heard that their menu was a little overpriced. We stopped by for drinks on a Thursday night and the music and energy was great! No cover and great live music. Exactly what we were looking for! We did scan the menu and the prices were a little high, especially for the appetizers- $4 for bread and butter?! We really enjoyed our time there though, so we will definitely be back- we might even order off the dinner menu next time. Apparently they were having a special on draft beers that night, but our bill didn't reflect that. Not a big deal as I think it was only 1-2 dollars off. Bake's is definitely a great addition to the Bellevue scene!

Great music but definitely not what I expected. This is more of a concert hall than a dinner/entertainment venue. Not recommended for groups looking to visit with each other. You are expected to shut your phone off and not make a sound during the performance. If you don't follow the rules you will be shushed or asked to leave. It is unfortunate since I was hoping to finally have a fun place to bring out-of-town guests for dinner and a show in Bellevue.

Had a wonderful time at Bake's tonight. Great atmosphere, service and food. The entertainment was well worth the $20 cover charge. Thanks Craig for taking time out to chat with us. Will definitely be back!

Last night was my first night at Bake's Place, and I was pleasantly surprised. I went by myself. The service was great, my glass was never empty. The food was fabulous - I had the baked Bree and the salmon chowder, which was simply amazing! The atmosphere made me feel right at home and welcome. The best part, however, had to be the music by far! It was dynamic and exciting and I never wanted it to end! I will for sure be coming back!

This is the place to go to on the Eastside. Blake's features jazz, blus, and Los skol rock and R and B. The food and service are excellent. Great menu and friendly attentive staff. I've been to many clubs like this all over the country and Bake's is among the best. One note:Any place is only as good as the people who go there. When you go please come ready to have a good time. Don't be afraid to say hi and welcome a stranger. Let's keep Bake's special.

hostess is chatting it up with drunks at the door. servers are making inappropriate jokes. food is undercooked, overcooked or messy. acoustic guitars cheesy-plucking "California Dreamin'". and $20 for a shot of whisky (that costs $14 down the street). damn. do you wonder why you only have 5 tables on a 70-degree night. where's your manager...

It's hard to beat the overall dining experience of Bake's Place. The decor is upbeat, modern yet comfortable and spacious, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating makes it a great venue for summer dining (especially this past summer). The staff is attentive and professional, the food is always sumptuous, the bar stocked with great wines, beers and my favorite vodkas; and as an added bonus... jazz and blues on a regular basis... now we're talking an over the top experience. Our family loves Bake's, a one of a kind food and music venue that keeps us coming back!

I have been to Bake's place a few times since their opening last May and every time I have been it has been an improvement! Every new place has things to work out whether it is their menu, ambiance or service but they have constantly been improving in all areas. Their new chef has added some amazing dishes including butternut squash gnocchi and salmon which were a great compliment to one another. The menu is diverse enough to suit whatever appetite you may have at several different price points. Early on they focused on upper end entrees but have brought more affordable options to the lineup. Also the first time or two I was there the music was dominating the ambiance but they have taken note of this and have been able to keep the sound level in check so table conversations are easier to have. Bake's Place was good to begin with but the subtle improvements they have made from menu to ambiance to cutting most cover charges on weekdays has made this a place I look forward to frequenting more often.

We recently celebrated our key manager's 60th birthday at Bakes. None of us had been there before, so we chose it because it was close to the office. The online menu also looked pretty decent. We made reservations and let them know we were celebrating a significant milestone. Not only was the atmosphere inviting, but the food was delicious and the service was exceptional! Thanks to everyone at Bakes who more than delivered! Highly recommend Bakes and will definitely go back!

First time there and I enjoyed myself. Band was spot-on with blues and jazz, and no, it wasn't "too loud." I ordered a nice tuna nicoise salad and it was excellent. Better than I expected. Good service, too. And you gotta love a place where the owner gets up to introduce the band members by name, individually.

Good venue, nice place, good music, and good food. The main thing I would say it would be better is if they lower the music level. I was quite loud the first time there. I would prefer that the music would be lowered but other than that, a really nice place to take someone out for some good food and music.

What can we say - this place is amazing. From the lighting and stage to the GRAMMY AWARD WINNING entertainment...this is as good as it gets! I always dreamed about living in the bygone era of supper clubs and now we have an updated version right here on the East Side (if only Rosemary Clooney would stroll by and sing me a song:). We started with a signature cocktail (which was lovely) and had the mussel appetizer - a thai coconut style dish - very tasty. The 2 salads we had - butter lettuce and jicama/watermelon/pineapple/cucumber were lovely and light. The portabello mushroom entree was one of the best vegetarian entrees I've had in a while! I will definitely be ordering it again! The menu clearly marks all vegetarian and gluten free items - a real bonus. Dessert was the molten chocolate cake...all I can say is SAVE ROOM! Let's keep live music alive and well - grab a date and GO! Thanks to the lovely owners who stop at each table to introduce themselves. It is brave people like you that are willing to take the risk to make the world a better place - one live music performance at a time. Bravo!

Our food was simply excellent, a good value for the quality, and interesting choices on the menu. The sound system and lighting are amazing, live music on the Eastside is SO needed! The wine list was wonderful, it was a great way to celebrate our daughters engagement. Do go on the website and see what type of music is playing six nights a week. Free parking and elevator to the restaurant was a great touch, plenty of parking. Will go back on a nice day to sit on the patio to enjoy dinner and live music. Try the Gnocci, it should on every plate!! So nice to be introduced and greeted by the owners, who have done wonders with a much needed cultural addition to Bellevue. Yum.

You Gotta Check it out! After many years at their intimate Providence Point location Craig and Laura Baker have moved and opened a stunning new venue in Downtown Bellevue. Although several times a large as their previous place, there is not a bad seat in the house. Plus, they now have a huge patio with great sun exposure where they will be serving lunch during nice weather. Opening weekend was smash featuring Dee Daniels with her unique style and a superb backup quartet. Bake's features a full menu for dinner - appetizers, salads, main course and dessert; along with a nice wine list featuring many Washington wines.. The fact that it was opening weekend showed in the table service, but I expect those will be ironed out quickly. Our gnocchi appetizer was superb and our salads (butter lettuce and chop) were fresh and crisp, however they forgot to put any dressing on the chop creating a dry experience. The petite filet was perfect size for us ~ 5 ounces and both were prepared to specification. Parking is free with validation - entrance for the parking is not self-evident being located on the downhill (107th Ave NE) side of the building. Craig and Laura are wonderful hosts and you will have a great time at their new place no matter who is performing.

Went back for HH on a Friday evening. Their HH menu selection is great. I tried the clams, truffle fries, flourless chocolate cake and mint julep. Food was delicious and service was accommodating of our our large group that formed over the course of a few hours.

I've had Bake's for lunch, dinner, takeout and happy hour. The staff is always friendly, attentive. And more than once my mom and I have been playful teased when we ordered too many (or just enough?) plates during happy hour. I love a waitstaff with a sense of humor. Food is amazing. I've yet to try anything I didn't like! The prices can be steep, but they have a daily lunch special for $7.95 that's a steal and good happy hour prices + nightly specials. The full prices are worth the high quality meal though! Free music T-Th provides excellent ambiance while still leaving decibels for conversation. And when the patio opens for summer, it's the place to be for a sunny weeknight dinner. Bonus for the sport fans: they have an extra large projector screen on which they'll broadcast big daytime games. My only complaint about this place is that they took their mac and cheese off the menu recently. It was the best I'd ever had. :(

The salted caramel martini so good I tripped walking upstairs and didn't even have heels on! The Thursday night burger is sooooo deliciously juicy. And the musicians play really soothing music. Next time I'll be ordering the pear Gorgonzola salad...yum. You must come!

Went there for dinner tonight. Food was great, service started out great then we felt that we got ignored. We had six people and ordered plenty of food and drinks. We honestly would have ordered more but our server stopped coming by. We had to hunt him down for our check and he made sure to tell us gratuity was included. When we first got there we were excited about the weekend events going on and we're planning on showing up but now I don't think I'll ever go there again and will not recommend this place for any event or dinner. Very disappointed. It would have been one thing if the place was packed but it was empty. Go to Earls or Pearl in Bellevue better. Don't waste your time.

Wow! A great hidden gem in downtown Bellevue! I've heard about this place before, in fact one of my gf was trying to get me to go here years ago, but our plans always fell through. I managed to finally visit this place last Friday with a few of my boys for a night cap and to enjoy some live music. Since it was a warm summer night, we opted to sit on the patio. We observed an older crowd, and it was pointed out to us, by the local guy in the group (he lives across the street), that was the norm. But it seems everyone was there just to just chill. It was relaxing and refreshing to have cold drinks on such a hot night. We also ordered calamari, but that left much to be desired, to me it wasn't quite cooked enough (still mushy). So about Bake's Place, the inside had a few booths and tables, and a bar/lounge area. The stage was front and center. The band was playing more Blues than Jazz that night, but it was still pretty cool. Our server said they rotate the bands that play here, so I would check their calendar. There were some people dancing, but it didn't seem there was a designated area for dancing. The restrooms are up the stairs (which could be an issue if you've had 1 too many...). Outside had a bar as well, and tables throughout the patio and a life size Jenga puzzle, too!!! There is also complementary parking in the garage. Bake's Place in Bellevue is cool place to have some drinks and enjoy some live music.

As T.I. says, "I don't want no mediocre." I came here Friday night and ordered the Manilla Clams. I consulted my server before placing my order and she assured me that the clams were going to be better than the $25 grilled prawn and marscapone polenta dish that I was also considering. I gladly accepted her recommendation. Sadly, these clams did not deliver. They were overcooked and extra salty. The crostinis offered on the side were bland and hardly toasted. Beyond the mediocrity of my dish the cocktails were ridiculously over-priced. A $14 cocktail? A $14 cocktail that's uninteresting and lacks complex flavor? My dinner companion shrugged her shoulders and said "Meh, Bellevue cocktail pricing is expensive." My final thoughts: mediocre and over-priced.

Very cool place near downtown Bellevue. They have an awesome outside patio that would be especially good in the warmer months. The inside has an authentic beer brewery feel while also having an upscale bar feel. Very cool. They have plenty of liquor to choose from and a good beer selection. We grabbed a two seat table near the bar and enjoyed a few beers. They also have live music performances on certain nights which just puts the icing on the cake. Awesome spot!

It's very classy inside. The employees do a great job waiting on customers. The music is great. The food is very tasty with small plate sizes. I've been back and forth with this place. They have made some great changes! The owner is in touch with his customers. The customer service is spot on and the owner is making changes that customers want to see. During the week, you can listen to music at a low level and have a drink without having to pay a cover! On the weekend there are 2 different "bands." The first is low key and the second is louder. I think they start at 9:00pm.

We had a very disappointing experience here tonight. As nearby residents of Bellevue, we wanted to check out a new restaurant close to home on our date night. After perusing the Yelp reviews, we decided to check it out. We started out with a few small plates including the orange & fennel salad. When the server brought out the salad, I noticed that it was no fennel but just arugula. I tasted it to make sure that it was arugula (it was). I then questioned my own knowledge of the greens and had to google an image just to confirm. I was right. I called over the server and asked her that this is not the salad I ordered because I ordered the orange & fennel. The server acts confused and tells me that she'll check with the kitchen. When she returns, rather than apologizing and saying that that was a mistake and that they will fix it or the like, she says: oh , this is a mix salad of fennel and arugula. I was pretty irritated by then. I picked up the salad plate and asked her to point out where the fennel was as there was only arugula in the salad plate. She then returns to check with the kitchen. Returns and says, oh we will make you another one. This is not the type of treatment I expect from a place with 4 stars Yelp review and 3 $$$. Very disappointing. We didn't end up ordering dinner. Paid for the drinks/small plates and left. We didn't appreciate the disrespect that the kitchen is showing its customers by substituting a major ingredient and not even bother to inform (or perhaps ask??) the customers if that'd be acceptable. More importantly, we didn't appreciate the fact that there was really no apology and only lying about the menu. The menu fully details what ingredients make up the salad; there was no "arugula" in that orange & fennel salad. I am not impressed.

Let me start by saying the service was excellent, the music was incredible, but the food was not good. They redeem a couple stars for their strengths. I ordered the burger with bacon and onion rings on the side. The burger was decent, but the bacon had these large slivers of inedible hardness in them. The bun was nothing special--decent texture, but no flavor to speak of. The onion rings were the breadcrumbed kind you get in a hospital cafeteria. My wife ordered the risotto with chicken. The chicken was just a small slab of chicken they threw on top. That'll be $7 extra, please. The chicken was overcooked in some parts and undercooked in others. Likely prepared from a frozen state. The risotto was bland, no notable spices in it and was thin, as though it were undercooked, had chunks of cheese in it, and had balsamic around it, which it seems someone probably heard makes things fancy. Another friend ordered it before we could warn her. Neither of them finished more than 1/2 of it. I wish we had sent it back after the first couple bites.

Came back here for my dad's birthday. Music was great, they had a giant Jenga set outside; perfect summer dinner feel. Everyone's food was delicious except for mine. The vegetable risotto was underwhelming (needed more seasoning); the rice was not cooked long enough to be called a risotto (more like overcooked rice and not creamy). But the TRUFFLE FRIES were divine-- the potato inside had a lovely creamy texture and a very crispy outside. So food was decent... but omg... like I mentioned in my last review, the service was so spotty. There weren't many people around the patio (no one was inside) and yet it took so long to get our orders, our drinks (maybe 20 min wait?), our food, our bill.. it was driving me nuts! The waitress seemed unprofessional and had forgotten an order and still didn't get it right after asking -______-# So overall, this place might be worth coming back to if the service gets a tune up or if you don't care about waiting around.

It's been a couple of years since I've been here and going tonight for a Latin music show performance by a coworker. The last time it was a local singer called Stacey Jones and the venue was acoustically perfect. Food was awesome from what I remember but I don't recall what I ordered. I'll update this after tonight's show. 5 star for previous visit !

This place is extremely expensive and good luck finding the bathroom I suggest the Jalapeño martini The music was feel good soul and its dark its a good place for a break up or a good place to take a date Whos not as attractive as you wanted them to be. " blind date" the outside deck is it's best feature however don't eat the calamari here awful and lack luster sauce eat something else my dirty gray goose martini was 17$

Decent, if overpriced, food. Happy hour is the time to visit so you score some semblance of a deal. But my favorite part about Bake's Place is the patio on a sunny day. It's a hidden gem; you often forget you're in downtown Bellevue. And thumbs up on the free validated parking under the building after 4p - makes it easy if your office isn't in walking distance.

  • Noyonima H.

The drinks were overpriced and the music was slow and in-between with long breaks. It's not exactly everything it was jazzed up to be. I haven't tried the food here so I can't really comment. In general it's a nice place with some good talents. The organization of events needs help. I won't be back. Not my cup of tea, but I do recommend others try it out to see if it might be theirs.

Had a great time during Jazz Fest on 5/29/15. Butch Harrison and Good company were playing some of the best jazz, R&B oldies, 80's and 90's ( including Prince)!!!! Food was good, mixed mature crowd and although there was no actual dance floor no one cared. People danced next to their tables and on the patio. No pretense, just good fun! Patio is gorgeous at night and the overall ambiance was awesome. Beautiful place. I tried as much as I could. Had one great martini with grand marnier in it and another drink that was not so good( forgot the name). Ordered the brisket burrito with no tortilla (ate meat, veggies not the rice since I was full). Boyfriend had some delicious pappardelle pasta and I dont eat much pasta. He loves fettuccine and agreed this was much better. Tried some desserts but the salted caramel pudding was way too sweet. So 4 out of 5 stars means I will be going back.

I came here for happy hour with a few friends after work and we all really enjoyed it! It was warm and sunny out, so it was awesome dining on the patio... with live music too! As for the food, it was good. We ordered most of the happy hour menu items - truffle fries, smoked wings, mac & cheesy, brussels sprouts, and a few different sliders. My friend also recommended the burger off the regular dinner menu so we shared that too. The bun was a little dry for my liking, but I guess it's better than soggy and falling apart. The meat was seasoned and cooked really juicy though, which is what matters to me more. Overall, Bake's has good service and food. I'll be back in the upcoming months for more relaxing, outdoor dining! TIPS: - Validated parking is available in the parking garage right under the restaurant. - Don't get the smoked chicken wings.. they're not so good. There should be a difference between smoked and burnt, right? Also, it's spicy. Not a complaint of mine, but a few of my friends weren't expecting that. - Service is on the slower side, so make sure you don't have somewhere to be right after. Take time to enjoy your meal and the music!

I guess this place has been in business for 2 years. Never even heard of it until I did a quick yelp search for happy hour. It's pretty nice inside and a lot of patio seating. No free parking in the building until after 4pm (as in enter after 4). That's crazy. This is downtown Bellevue! Should be free when dining anywhere! I got a Moscow mule. It was ok. Also tried the mu shu duck sliders. One order has 2 sliders. Not amazing. Too much bread. Also had the clams. Just alright. Prices aren't too cheap especially since it was supposed to be happy hour rates. See picture of hh menu. Just ok food, but if you want to sit outside then this is a good spot.

A friend recommended this place so I decided to set up a date night for my wife and I. Parking is validated for the Columbia parking garage, so be sure to take your ticket in with you. I made dinner reservations for 6:00pm ensuring us a table to view the live band at 7:00pm. Tickets for the band were $25 each plus an additional $2 in taxes. We both had to order a minimum of $20 in food/drink in order to have a seat in the dining area. The bar area is on a first come first serve basis. My wife ordered Mac and Jack for $6 a pint and I ordered the house Red for $8 a glass. We chose the clams for $13 for our appetizer. What a fabulous choice. A large bowl of clams in a savory broth loaded with bacon pieces, sauteed onions, red and yellow grape tomatoes and served with two slices of toasted baguette bread. Delish. For our meal we shared the Crispy Chicken Breast for $18. Half of a whole chicken served atop an ice cream spoonful of Yukon mashed potatoes. Seasonal vegetables were supposed to come alongside but was missing on our plate; however we still enjoyed our meal. I didn't bring the missing vegetables to our waitresses attention because I'm not the complaining type. For dessert we ordered the Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Pudding for $8. This layered dessert was served in a rocks size glass and was quite rich without being overly sweet. The caramel and salt paired with the chocolate and whipped cream was divine. We generally never order dessert so this was quite a treat for us. Between the two of us, we didn't even finish the dessert. We're just not dessert people. Every seat was taken in this venue (which isn't large) and the band started playing promptly at 7pm. The band played until about 8:30pm and had another show to do later that evening. The staff was attentive yet not over attentive. Our water glasses were always filled promptly. Dishes were cleared in a timely manner. Food was served in a timely manner (I hate when dinner is served while I'm still enjoying my appetizer). Staff members assisted their peers in clearing tables etc... It's always nice to see peers working together. We both thoroughly enjoyed our date night and will continue to frequent Bake's as well as recommend to our friends. Thank you Bake's for a great date night. Keep up the great work.

Great music lounge with wonderful ambiance located in downtown Bellevue. Drinks were good, service was great, music was awesome, but the food was SOOOO overpriced for the quality. Very bland food that is highly overcharged (the only reason I didn't give 5 stars). In the future I will go for the drinks and music and pass on the food. Wonderful place for live music. Also, very nice that parking is validated especially for the location.

It's one thing or another with this place. When I took people here, they stopped the live music, which was painful since it was my dating place to go. Now, they have live music back which is great but then the menu changed? I recall that they had a better fish selection and when I recently went back, the food items changed. So I decided to get the chicken and it came out as a small winged piece? Really? I already know I have large food requirements as a crazy foodie but, that was smaller than quail. Please, have better food and keep the live music for 5 stars. . I can't justify giving it a perfect rating otherwise. it has been a very rocky year with Bakes so far and I long for last years experience. As usual, I saw Mr. Baker there which is cool to see . . . but of course, even after going there so many times, I'm not even vaguely familiar to anyone there. It is an interesting concept. The place is predictably unpredictable. Oh, and BTW, our waitress disappeared . . so much that other staff members made that comment as well while I had to track down people every time I wanted assistance. I would dock another star but the entertainment and bus staff was excellent.

This is an awesome venue... so why 3 stars? Well as soon as we get to the greeters stand greeter used loosely considering it took a while for eye contact and then we were IMMEDIATELY told that we would have to spend 20 dollars per person. Okay, well we're here on a Saturday night with dinner reservations and one look at your menu prices make it very clear that I'm not getting out spending any less than that! Very cold. The band, atmosphere, and waiter Salvatore were awesome. The food, lackluster. Really too bad for a great music venue.

Finally we made it here! We met another couple on a Friday night, were seated at a great table to enjoy the music. Food was great, my boyfriend LOVED his lamb shank. Our server was friendly, helpful and really helped make the experience top notch. Band for the evening was a fun rock band ( can't recall the name) and we ended staying until the very end! (we are old folks...) It was a mixed group of young and old, which is always fun, so no one is out of place! Next sunny day I want to check out the patio and Happy Hour!

I've been here multiple times and usually have great service but was really disappointed when I took a friend there for lunch recently. We both ordered salads and my friend wanted to add salmon but they were out (bummer). The waitress recommended the halibut but failed to mention it would be an additional $21 to add the halibut instead of the salmon ($7). I was really surprised when the bill came and thought they had made a mistake. I was told that was the up charge for halibut and they didn't apologize or offer any other sort of compensation. I definitely wasn't expecting to pay $50+ for 2 salads for lunch and most likely won't be going back, which is unfortunate since I've always had good service until now.

Service is very lacking here. I'm not sure if it was because it was outside, but we had to wave down a waiter every single time we needed something. Barely got checked up on. I ordered their ribs (full rack), i've ordered it before, but this time it looked sad and small. The portion control here seemed to be lacking. When i ordered it not too long ago, it looked completely different and was presented a completely different way. Interesting. I had also asked for a little more rib sauce because it was barely even touched with it, and what i got was a cold bowl of bbq sauce... not even warm. Dinner time was surprisingly quiet, they might be going downhill. I like the live music though.

Note: My last visit here was a few months ago, but I felt I couldn't go without leaving a review for the handful of visits I did make. In short: This is where you take your date when you want to impress 'em. Bake's Place is pretty great. Yes, you will encounter a lot of "Bellevue" types up in here (and you might even feel under-dressed and under-classed), but the food and decor are both good, the service is quick and attentive, and the live jazz that's been kicking every time I've come in has been an extraordinarily pleasant surprise. The food isn't cheap but I also wouldn't call it expensive, either. No comment on the bar/drinks as I don't partake, but that seems to be the one thing most people complain about.

Ambiance was nice, music was great, service was wonderful, but food was just A-Okay. I ordered the Prawns with Risotto and the prawns were way over cooked and the risotto was a bit bland. We were there for a Wednesday night which I believe has some special for the ladies.

I personally like their creme brûlée the most but not a big fan of other options. And it is a place for elder group of people.

t was okay. Took myself out for a night of watching smooth jazz with a 'live' band. The place was nice. The food appetizers were waaaaay overpriced. Seriously $16 for some little bits of cheese and crackers with about 5-6 grapes. Shameful The ambiance was nice and if a date paid for me I would surely go again. My glass or shall I say half glass of wine ran me $9. Now I don't know the going rate for middle of the road wine but I can buy a whole bottle for that. It was a packed house and you just know with a $15 cover, they were raking in the $$$. Well next time a date will have to take me out. I stayed about 1 hour just enough to drink 2 half glasses and my appetizer plate. The server was awesome though. She got a nice tip from me.

Very disappointed in the risotto. When I told the waiter it was over cooked he just asked me if I wanted some salt. The music was fine. The waiter also rushed us to pay our bill.

This is an outstanding place to visit for live music, drinks and a cool atmosphere. Dimly lit, with comfy seating and super tall ceilings. Really great vibe for music and the service was good. Very attentive and quick. I did not eat here, but had some beverages and they were quite tasty. I look forward to my next return.

The ambiance is pretty cool in here. The staff is good, the food is excellent and the entertainment is outstanding. The music is a bit loud - but this is a live music venue, so I guess I can't complain. We have been here been 5 or so times, and we enjoy the friendliness of the employees. We got some wrong information from a server when asked about an event for which I received an email - he tried to tell me that the wine tasting was for staff only! I said, then why did I get the email for it? I double checked with another employee and they confirmed it was for patrons too. Weird. If you are a music lover, check out their website and look at the calendar. There is live music nightly. Some nights have a pretty steep cover charge, and there's a minimum for how much you need to spend on good/drinks too. That's why 4 stars and not 5.

Came here for a ladies evening of dessert and live music. The music was good, but the service was slow. The coffee came out way ahead of the dessert. The dessert was just okay, nothing memorable. When you find the underground parking lot, it's ample parking that is free with validation.

So this is a great summer spot because they have outdoor seating with music which is such a huge plus for boring Bellevue! The food is very American style, not that amused but hey it was tasty! The music was great I loved the vibe, the service and the location. Tons of parking and inside space. This would be a great place to do dinner on a rainy afternoon, because they have a stage indoors too for bands. Such a fun spot :-)

I've been to Bake's place twice now within the same week, and have to say I've come away really disappointed after my experience today, hence the 2 star rating. First of all, I think if you went there on your average sunny Friday evening, or Happy Hour during the week, you'll probably have an okay experience. They have good cocktails with fresh ingredients, and relatively good food. My first time there on a very nice Friday afternoon on the patio, featured an attentive server, quick service and good food. I had the Pasta with Gorgonzola and the salted caramel chocolate pudding- both awesome. My friends also enjoyed the lamb burger and the mushroom risotto, along with a few specialty cocktails too. If I was going on that experience alone- they'd get 5 stars. Because of our experience on Friday night, we went there today to watch the world cup final. We had made reservations Friday night for good seating. BIG mistake. It took 35 minutes for someone on staff to take our drink order- yes, 35 minutes. It then took another 15 for the drinks to arrive (beers- not hand-crafted anything special) I ordered a shaved Brussels sprout salad, which arrived, and oddly enough didn't contain one brussel sprout. It was on a giant bed of kale, which I hate, and the menu description didn't mention at all. Instead of waiting another 50 minutes for an alternate selection, (and not being asked how my food was by anyone on staff) I just choked it down. I finally flagged down a waiter, who would make a habit of hiding in the corner watching the game, but not working, and ordered a spicy, citrusy sounding drink that mentioned it was strained in the printed description... well, I received a glass of spicy, sweet vodka with a salad floating in it- complete with fresh jalapeno seeds. I spent $10 on a drink that was disgusting, told my server that it was supposed to be strained, and he just giggled and walked away. I then waited at the kiosk to have my parking validated for 10 minutes, and nobody on staff would make an appearance, so I ended up paying $9 additional bucks for the parking underneath the building. There are many other businesses in Bellevue with good food and drinks that you can choose from. I'm going to avoid spending my money on crappy service and mediocre food and drinks that aren't as described on the menu.

Great food, staff and atmosphere. I especially like lunch here since its quiet, compared to Purple café where you almost have to scream when having a conversation. I recently came here a friday night and the place was packed. Great live music and drinks. Mr Baker sure knows how to pick out good music for his place.
