Good strong adult beverages at a good price compared to the surrounding competition and the deep fried asparagus half off appetizer tasted good. Going to go again soon and sit outside

Skip this dump. The bartenders are catty, gossip and lie about their customers and they are only friendly to locals. A rough crowd to say the least - plenty of missing teeth, etc. The salads are large and good - I'll give them that little bit. I just couldn't get passed how dirty it was. Also, I did not feel they were OPEN to anyone from different ethnic backgrounds, cities, etc. It's interesting how intolerable the staff was when the head bartender's son is in and out of jail and another bartender is gay. I could care less - but who are they to judge where we are from and who we are? Let the locals rule this place. Students and tourists stay AWAY! Just a bit of advice from a LA girl.

Steer clear of thier Mexican food. It's the most you will pay for subpar quality. Partly it's my fault for getting Mexican food at an Irish pub.

This place is just okay, nothing special in my opinion. It's very much a bar for locals and typically has a more mature crowd who frequents the bar. I only occasionally go here for the single pool table.

Great bar food and good drink specials. If u go before 7 on weekdays its half off appetizers. I am a chicken finger guy and they have the best ones around.

Came in for breakfast/brunch just looking for some good ole pub breakfast. Expectations weren't very high considering if I wanted a true brunch experience I would have gone to Sneakers Bistro or Magnolias. The service was a bit slow but expected because the overflow from other places just started to roll in. We ordered the Vermont Benedict and a ham and cheddar omelet with a side of hollandaise. The food arrived cold and the hollandaise is perhaps the worst I have ever tasted. In top of it all there was a piece of foil from what we guessed was a butter packet in the eggs Benedict. The only saving grace of the meal was the home fries. Great little dive bar but not worth the trip for food.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this dark, hole-in-the-wall pub. My husband, son and I wanted to grab a quick lunch in a sit down restaurant. I wanted a salad with protein and I needed to find a place that would also have food for my finicky son. Service was excellent. Food was also excellent. My son's BLT was served on thick slices of wonderful bread, not your typical bread and his hand-cut fries were a slightly over salty surprise. I admit I ate my fair share. My Chef's salad over flowed with turkey, ham and roast beef. The cheese was left off at my request and the underlying salad was much more than your average greens it had peppers, carrots and more. I will definitely be back if our son decides to attend UVM.

So, being in the food service industry myself, I like to think I'm a good tipper. And I tip for waitress service, not for a simple call-in pickup, because the kitchen staff typically makes more money than the waitstaff. The last time I got food there, it was a horrible experience. It wasn't obvious where to pick the food up, staff members kept staring at me and not asking if I needed help - I tried getting the attention of someone but they were "too busy" to help me. When the bartender finally decided to see what the hell I wanted, I made sure to be extra nice because it did seem busy and I just wanted to get out of there. I paid my bill and went home with my food and ate it. It was ok. I've never had anything phenomenal there, or even really good, but the food is fairly cheap and relatively fast. Ok. Fast forward a month. I get my credit card bill in the mail and - surprise! They tacked on a $20 tip for me. How nice of them, right? Except 1) I made sure to fill out my credit card slip correctly 2) The bill itself was less than $20 and 3) The food probably wasn't even worth the $15 I spent on it. So, in short: -Bad service -Bad food -Bad ethics Never, ever, ever even thinking of going there again. I'll be sure to tell my friends about this sneaky little move they pulled, too. This place is not worth your time or money. I'm kind of mad I spent 5 minutes writing this review, but this is probably the only way I'll be getting justice at this point. Really wish I could have that $20 back instead.

This is a corner bar, it is a bit dark, has home cooking and a deep fryer, it is a typical old bar. If you have those expectations it is a pretty good spot. If you are looking to get wine, you should probably go to the wine bar across the street and save everyone the hassle. The people seemed blue collar and were polite and nice when I swing in there midday to catch part of a game. I would definitely return and try their brunch if I am in town again.

McKee's pub is what it is...A dive bar! But a good dive bar over all! A few friends wanted to go for a few drinks this weekend and they picked McKee's. Now I have been here in the past but that was about 5 years ago. I used to come here got a quick bite to eat and drink before meeting up with my friends for our downtown nights out. So not much here as changed over the years. The best thing going for this bar is the lack of college kids. So by default its not to busy or over ran from what I could tell on a Friday nigh. So its very low key but I like that. It allows you to have a conversation with people unlike a lot of the bars downtown. The locals do show up here and it seems to be a popular hang out for them. However they didn't bother me. In fact many of them seemed pretty friendly over all. So for Winooski its not bad at all. I would differently go back to have a beer or 2 again. Even the bartenders are friendly and quick to serve you! So if your in the area and want a drink and some simple bar food check them out.

Best burgers in Winooski, and the best part is it's only $6 for a flatlander burger and fries on Monday nights! Fries seem to be hand cut and the ciabatta roll the burgers come on is fantastic. Also a huge fan of 1/2 off appetizers Monday-Friday from 4-10pm... the asparagus fries with the ranch/sriracha dipping sauce they come with is amazing. The service is a bit slow when it's busy, but the food is worth it and I have brought out of town family members here several times. Definitely a good local spot! :)

I started working in Vermont in August. I was living in Boston, and would come up every other week. On the weeks I was in Vermont, I made a stop at McKee's. I love the outdoor seating in the little town of Winooski. I would bring my notebook to practice writing, order a Switchback or a Guinness (or both) and I was set. The grub is good. The service is quick. The people are friendly. I've been inside only once, it was not a busy night, but I enjoyed the atmosphere. I will be back.

  • Jamie F.

Popular with the locals, it appears. Right in the "heart" of Winoooooooooooski. Service was nice but not speedy. Food was acceptable pub fare. It was good but nothing I'll remember. The fries were over-salted. Overall, if I was in the area I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go here, or tell me friends about it. We didn't sit outside, although the outside seating looks like a nice spot.

While staying in Colchester we found this little pub, the decorations inside were authentic and welcoming. The bartender who helped us was so sweet. We ordered half Caesar salads and split a chicken burrito platter. This was the perfect amount of food to share and extremely good. Definitely recommend this pub for a cold beer and some good food.

I love it here! We regularly go here Sunday's for the wing specials form 2:30 - 10:00 and sports! There food is great bar food but they do have salads and other dinners too! There is something for everyone!! In the summer it is great out on the patio for people watching or just enjoying the sun!

I really like this place. It's always busy and lively and the waitresses (almost) never seem put out by your presence. the food is typical pub grub- but on Mondays apps are half off and pool is free, which is pretty freaking sweet!

Fine. Cheap beer. Darts & pool. Locals. Irish pub & good time. No food after 10:00pm but we were able to order pizza delivered...

For a local joint, it's pretty good. There are weekly drink specials, so if you're looking for a cheap night out it's certainly a place to go. The Atmosphere is... okay, convenience is definitely a reason to come back here. There's a pretty decent selection for food, and there are some pretty good specials during the week (Sundays usually have 1/2 price wings, and it's 1/2 price apps all week until 6) They also have a Sunday brunch menu that's actually pretty good. It can get kind of crowded in there (not so much since they moved the Thursday night WZN stuff, but it can fill up at night). They also have outdoor seating in the summer which is a nice touch. The Spicy Teriyaki wings are great, you can't really go wrong with any of the appetizers, and the burgers are good for a bar (I'm a fan of the McPatty melt), They have some REALLY good corned beef hash on Sundays, and while I haven't been in a while, I've enjoyed my brunch trips there. Friendly service, cheap food and drink, but if you're not local, you might be better off going downtown.

The man and I went to brunch here yesterday and I was super impressed! First off, what lured us in was the outdoor seating on such a perfect Vermont summer day. It was wonderful to brunch outside in the sun! I ordered their Irish Benedict which has corned beef hash. Now, I fully expected it to be the ground mash from a can that seems typical whenever I order it out, so my expectations were low to say the least. Color me (happily) surprised when it was REAL chunks of corned beef, cut up with potatoes on top of my perfectly done benedict! It was delightful and I was raving about it for quite a while after leaving. The man had the Breakfast Burger which comes with an egg, and other toppings on an english muffin. It was the first time he had tried an egg on a burger and I think he enjoyed it also. Poor guy, I barely gave him any room to talk about it since I was super impressed with the Hash! Additionally, the home fries were yummy, but the Bloody Mary was an odd mixture of sweet and spicy. I love spicy Bloody Mary's, but the sweet was a little overpowering for me. I will definitely return for the Hash, but will not be getting another Bloody Mary.

Not a bad spot to stop for a pint and to watch a game. Interesting mix of Red Sox and Yankees fans last night but it was also Buzz night. Free pizza and 99 cent drafts will do that. The food is not bad but only available until 9pm. Basic pub food. Lots of TVs. The long, narrow bar doesn't have much space but there are lots of booths out back.

I love pub food. And I love a pub where I feel I can sit with my family (including my 7 year old son), watch a game, have a drink and not feel like an awful parent for bringing my child to a bar. A place that isn't trendy and full of college students, where it's not too loud so you can have an actual conversation with your friends. Oh, and I like to play pool. I have long been complaining that there is no place in Burlington that fits these simple (in my mind) requirements. Then I found out about McKees. It's not great - feels a little dingy. But the food is decent, the wait staff is nice, prices are reasonable. They have a seperate bar and dining area, so the kid can sit with us in the dining area, away from the alcohol. There are TVs everyone, though when I went there weren't any sports on. And there's a pool table. I have gone for lunch with a coworker, and for brunch with my family. Both times I was pleased. I'm not quite sure how it will stand the test of time, but I'll go back.
