Stumbled upon this place after another place closeby had a substantial wait for breakfast. There was a "Sunday Brunch" sign, so we stopped in. We were seated immediately, and both of us ordered the tomato and cheddar omelet. Ordering an unfamiliar omelet can be a gamble, but this one paid off. It was piping hot, eggs were extremely fluffy, and the cheese was plentiful, gooey, and tasted so fresh. The English muffins were also delicious, and might have been homemade. What a great idea to stop in here on our way home.

We've been coming to the Roadhouse for years. Good, dependable food, and lots of it. They've introduced a "Lite" menu, but their classic includes thick, hearty bread with a huge slab of butter, choice of soups, salad, entree with sides, and then a modest-sized dessert. Even as someone who often over-stuffs, there are times I can't finish everything. I don't drink but people I'm with enjoy their wine and beer selection. They have live (but quiet) music on Friday nights in the bar. Lots of James Taylor. There are seats nearby and at the far end of the restaurant, out of earshot, for those who prefer no music. Nice wait staff. Casual.

No trip to Mount Snow is compete without a visit to The Roadhouse. We've eaten here many times over the past decade or so. This time our party of 15 had dinner on Friday night and they took a reservation which was nice (not all area restaurants do.) Our hostess Pam was lovely and friendly and handed us off to Paula, our server, who was incredibly efficient in single-handedly handling our entire group. The atmosphere is warm and cozy with lots of tchatchkies and antiques; it is a very comfortable and inviting place. Now the food. Their homemade bread is outstanding; you could make a meal out of this and the butter. We were delighted to find a Friday night special of a free plate of peel-and-eat shrimp with each entree. They brought it out for each of us and we went to town. It was a very nice touch! All entrees also come with soup and salad; dessert is an extra $3.95. One of that night's soup selections - the butternut squash and apple soup - was the lowlight of the meal. It was, truth be told, really awful. With 15 of us, we had a good representative sampling of their entrees, most of which were excellent (one did not like their lamb dish - too bland, and one did not fully enjoy their stuffed trout - the skin was left on and the presentation was lacking.) The chicken Celtic is slightly sweet, but very hearty and satisfying. Several loved the steak, scallops and salmon dishes. Overall, The Roadhouse is a terrific and cozy place, a delightful dining experience and a reasonable value. (The bar area is also warm and inviting. They had a guitarist playing while we were there and it was very pleasant.) We will continue to be back to one of our favorite Wilmington spots.

We made a reservation for 9 people and the staff was very accommodating. The food was very good as we all enjoyed our meals. The restaurant was very clean and nicely decorated. Will certainly plan to add this to our local favorites list.

So our reservation was at 8pm. We were seated very quickly. I cannot agree with how quickly it took for a waiter to come take our order. Approximately 20 minutes. The bread came. This bread changed my life. A beautiful honey wheat loaf that was spectacular. Cheers to the baker. Then the soup. I bet if you put it in the oven at 375 you would have a seafood cupcake. The roux was underdone and the flour was raw. We took the main course home. I waited so long for this experience that i decided to write this review while waiting for the dessert. The check came the fastest. Shame.

Food was ok. I ordered the chicken parm and instead of a house salad I asked for it to be caesar. The bill came and they charged me 5$ on top of the overpriced meal. Keep driving im sure you'll find something better

The nightly specials are the best part! I had the most amazing venison shank that was fall of the bone amazing. Their fresh bread is the best! By far the best meal for the price around mount snow. We will be back!

While the food was actually pretty good, the service was too terrible to allow us to appreciate any of it. Literally the worst I've ever experienced. We had a reservation for a party of 18 people and they had to break us up into two tables. Our waitress was an elderly woman who was clearly overwhelmed by a table of ten given that the restaurant doesn't even have bus boys. Everything took forever, including the drink orders. We waited 45 minutes to get a bottle of wine, which ended up being a Malbec, not the cab that we ordered. The appetizers took another 30 min (so hour and 15 min after being seated) and the main entrees came out 30 min later, all of which were either luke warm or cold. Some were sent back because they were cold and just unappetizing at that point or people were full on bread and wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. The other table we were split up from had already paid the check before our entrees came out and went to the bar to wait for us. It was truly an unbelievable experience. Even though our waitress was terrible at her job, disappeared for long periods of time, knew nothing about the menu or wine list, and talked back to us if we reminded her about anything or were anything but overly polite (which we were most of the time because we actually felt bad that the restaurant would put this woman who was clearly struggling on a large table), it was so ridiculous that you had to blame the restaurant's management. I don't know how they didn't realize that something was wrong. Our entrees were clearly sitting there quite a while before they were brought over us, how did no one notice that? Or the fact that a table that we came in with and had 2 less people finished with everything an hour before us. Like come on. You're serving $26-$40 seafood entrees, not burger and fries. Completely unacceptable for any business. The experience completely ruined everyone's night. Some people even got into huge arguments over what tip to leave. We ended up leaving 20%, but unanimously felt something much lower if anything at all was deserved. Just bad. Go somewhere else or buy a frozen pizza. Seriously.

Great food. Prime Rib for $18 on Wednesdays. Nice little restaurant to stop by after a day on the mountain.

Great meals, I had stuffed haddock, delicious, and my wife had the prime rib. She had to get an end cut to get it medium rare, center cuts were very rare. Good value and the Friday night special was a free shrimp cocktail. The only negative was that I requested that I get no vegetables and the waitress said the chef would probably put them on anyway, and he did.

We had a pretty good experience here. Nothing awful. We arrived at 6:30 for dinner during the comparatively slow summer months and were seated right away by a waitress who seemed tight-lipped but who grew more friendly as the meal progressed. We didn't realize we had arrived on a popular special evening when for $34.95 the restaurant offers two entrees, salad, veggies, bread and desserts and a bottle of wine. Pretty good deal--as long as you understand the wine bottles are either a) a chardonnay or b) a merlot. We took the chardonnay; it was drinkable. Could you expect more given the price? The blackened chicken and tilapia were tasty, and the homemade bread was crusty and good. The chocolate cake for dessert seemed homemade, but not sure. The regularly priced entrees range between $17 and 28, so we figured we came out fine. Parents with kids note there is a special child's menu. We'd give Road House a modest recommendation, but then our comments are based on only one dining experience.

If you're hungry after a long day of skiing or biking at nearby Mount Snow, stop by the Road House for a hearty, filling and affordable meal. There are many entrees from which you can choose--seafood, steak, schnitzel (my favorite), eggplant parm (also delicious), and poultry. Each entree comes with soup, salad, mouth-watering homemade bread, and dessert. Road House is often crowded, so you might have to sit in the bar for a little while. Copper Ale is on tap; the martinis are dry and overflowing; the cosmopolitans are sweet and tasty (so says my wife). After a long day of skiing, you might prefer a scotch or a nice glass of Chianti. The bartenders mostly work at the mountain--ask for Ringo--and (if you ask) they'll give you interesting information about conditions, local politics, etc. While you might be tempted to order an appetizer for yourself--the venison sausages are a carnivore's delight--it's best to share one or two apps for a party of four, five or six people... This way you're not full before the rest of the food is paraded out in good timing. Also, as much as you'll be tempted to do so, don't fill up on the bread. Wednesday nights are especially affordable, with a special that includes a bottle of wine (from a limited selection) and an entree (with all the other good stuff described above) for less than $30 for TWO PEOPLE. That's right folks, you read that correctly. By the time you get to dessert you might be full, and that's ok. Dessert is not the best part of the Road House experience. Your best bet is to top off your tummy with the apple crumble: It's better than the indifferent carrot cake and the dry chocolate cake.

Ate there again last week. Different waitress, but still great service. Different meal and it was even better than the first. Just a nice place!

Service was not just bad, it was aggressively rude. Over an hour after our party having been seated, we finally started receiving our food despite having ordered the childrens' dishes on arrival to expedite the process. The server had been missing in action throughout the interlude, leading us to assume that she was avoiding us. When we finally inquired her about the delay, she freaked out about the crowds. We then spoke to the manager, who insinuated that the delay was our fault - the size of our party and complexity of our order, which included such "custom" dishes as three orders of the prime rib daily special. As if it weren't enough, she returned after an interlude to aggressively confront us again! To top it off, the food was mediocre. The prime rib, for instance, was tasteless - not promising since it was advertised as their pride and joy. Stay away if you want a pleasant experience. They clearly looked at us as tourists for whom decent service was wasted upon.

Big portions, solid food, hearty home classics. Friendly service. Pleasant atmosphere. Bread is very good as our vegetables.

Great place to stop by for an apres ski drink! The bartender was really cool - and made a HEFTY Old Fashioned for us... we didn't try the food, but the place was packed and seemed like a great neighborhood favorite. Try to score the cozy bench by the window in the bar and you'll wind up staying there for hours!
