The Inn At Weston

Very nice meal the day after Xmas at the Inn. Very quiet, no buzz about the place for sure but that's not why you come here. The food was all very good and we had a nice server. Apps of mussels, duck confit tart, salad and curried cauliflower soup were great. The salmon was delicious as was the duck and ended with a good chocolate mousse. Prices are on the high side but it's a nice place for a quiet special meal.
We were happily greeted by Lexie! Her beautiful brown eyes, and red hair, and tail, wagging cheerfully! Bob and Linda made our visit everything it should be! They greeted us as old friends....and treated us as very welcomed guests.... The inn is in wonderful shape... Updated without taking away from the historic farmhouse! Linda's green thumb is evident throughout the entire property. Our room was well appointed, and very comfortable. Dinner, crafted by Chef Greg, was also a 10... The salmon special was perfectly prepared, and darling hubby had the freshly smoked chicken, (applewood) when they brought it out, the smell was heavenly. We had a dessert of Maple pudding like dessert... That was also amazing... George provided a lovely musical accompaniment to a relaxed evening... Great selection of music. Bob and Linda were on hand, and we enjoyed a lovely visit with them. After a quiet, and restful nights sleep in a comfortable bed, Linda prepared a lovely breakfast of home made granola, yogurt, fresh fruit, and a Vermont frittata, with Vermont cheddar, that was hearty, and fresh. Don't miss visiting The Vermont Country Store just down the street....
We went to the Inn when we decided not to have a formal wedding and found the elopement package. Bob and Linda tended to our every needs and made our day special, intimate, and relaxed. I feel very fortunate to have found this place. The rooms are lovely. We stayed in the carriage house where the rooms have a patio, which make relaxing on a summer day after hiking enjoyable. The chef at the inn is excellent. If you're going to the playhouse, which is five minutes away by foot, do not bother eating anywhere else in town. You will not find a better meal, bottle of wine, or cocktail than at the inn! My husband and I travel a lot. We've stayed at many inns, but we've never experienced staying at an inn where we've felt so welcomed and such warmth from the innkeepers and inn staff. Bob and Linda have created an inn that is not only lovely but a truly special space.

Bryant House Restaurant

Not even worth 1 star. First time I have sent food back in over a decade. Who puts (old, seemingly rotten) broccoli, carrots, and onion on an "artisan" flatbread? These vegetables were not only a terrible choice in terms of flavor, they tasted extremely unfresh. On top of them was a sprinkling of barely melted cheese, not even enough to mask the unsightly vegetables. Although I didn't want anything else off the menu, I felt guilty about sending my meal back, so I ordered a Caesar salad. By the time my family had finished eating, my salad finally appeared. It was edible, but the croutons were so garlicky (and clearly not homemade), that I could not eat them. My husband's fish dish was barely passable, and came with vegetables that looked worse than prison fare. This restaurant is to be avoided, despite the fun offerings in the VT Country Store next door. I am completely mystified by the positive ratings Bryant House has received from other reviewers. It is often the case that service is bad but food is good, at the BH, the opposite was true. Our server was fine, but the food was dreadful.
Delicious food! Homey atmosphere. Get there early it fills up fast! The Grill cheese sandwich and the Mac n Cheese were a real hit!
Very good NE clam chowder but the cheeseburger was awesome! Loved this place. everything is fresh and made in house. Can't wait to return and try the Dogwood wrap and some dessert.
