We live nearby during the summer and have been coming to the Redmill for dinners out for decades! This summer the menu is fantastic and varied, the food exceptional and the service exemplary. We are coming back frequently. Thank you to the entire staff at the Redmill for a wonderful dinner.

I am a local (live in Lincoln, VT) and really want to love this place, but was less than happy with my meal earlier this evening. First of all, I will say that the atmosphere is pleasant, although I wish the view was of something other than a children's playground. Our server was friendly and prompt and my ice tea glass was always refilled, so that was a plus. Also, my house salad was delicious and I enjoyed the homemade blue cheese dressing. I also ordered the grilled Brussels sprouts, which were quite good. For my entree I ordered the gnocchi. I normally LOVE gnocchi, but this was not good gnocchi. It had an unpleasant burned taste, and the gnocchi itself was pasty and dense -- not light and airy and fluffy like it should be. It had obviously been grilled, and many of the pieces were burnt. I was able to send it back and was not charged for it, hence the 3-star rating. Next time I will stick with a burger!

This was my first trip to the Red Mill, a place I had been meaning to eat at for quite awhile. Our sever was friendly and delivered drinks and a bread basket right away. The table we were sat at had fold down (or up) sides. It had apparent use and subsequently left me with an uneven spot to eat my meal. I started with a cup of the Cheddar Ale Soup which was amazing, I could have had several. For an entree I ordered the turkey club sandwich and fries. The ingredients were advertised as local but the sandwich itself left a lot of be desired. The white bread was heavily toasted and somewhat greasy. The toasting was purposeful but took away from the sandwich. The bacon from Dakin Farms was great but the local turkey tasted rubbery and slimily. The savior was the basil garlic aioli. I dinned with four others, two enjoyed their meal very much while the other two said there was a little to be left desired. I want to return again to try a different menu item and give it another shot.

We love going to Basin Harbor and the Red Mill is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal from burgers to gourmet dinners. Great bar and the staff is always so friendly. Playground for small children to enjoy and you never know when you will see a plane land or take off at their airfield.

Great spot for families! Great food, excellent service and atmosphere. My kids love going there...it's also so exciting to see the planes land on the natural airstrip...my kids love that.

Inspired burgers and sandwiches, delicious appetizers, weekend entertainment. Great atmosphere and good food. Bartenders are friendly and make a good drink. Live entertainment and DJs most weekends of the summer. The menu changes seasonally, I really enjoy the variety and the fact that ingredients are sourced locally. Brussel sprout appetizer is incredible, corn-flake crusted chicken tenders are a great late night snack!

Poorly prepared food in a relaxed atmosphere. Good playground for the kids and occasionally a plane lands at the grass air strip. Did I mention overpriced food poorly prepared? Yet we go back at the kids request.

ugh! First off I still cant figure out why we waited 30 mins for a table. Anyway, the food was ok at best. One of our party had a burger that was very good. The shepherds pie was ok and my "grilled" chicken sandwich was rubbery. The entire meal was over priced and the place reminded us all of sitting in a Red Lobster. 2-stars because of the burger.

While this place fits the generally pompous, overpriced and bland character of the entire Basin Harbor Resort cuisine, this restaurant earns an especially poor rating for: 1) food that looks and tastes like it must just be warmed up frozen meals 2) trying to be the "dive" at this pretentious (but beautiful and charming) resort and charging 3-4 star restaurant prices for their meals Avoid this place, the resort main dining room is at least a little better quality food but not good enough to earn 2 stars (expect to pay even more) but has a view.
