This B&B was wonderful! 4 of my friends and I decided to take a roadtrip and booked last minute but we still got a suite that fit all of us so comfortably and was so reasonably priced, I couldn't believe it!! I wasn't expecting much, but the place was really clean and the owners were so nice--they welcomed us as soon as we got there, showed us around, recommended a delicious place for dinner, and made us breakfast the next morning. They chatted with us for a while, while also being sure to give us our privacy. I would recommend that everyone stay here if you want a cozy, cute hotel!

When we walked into the sitting room at the Auberge, we were greeted by an old, friendly dog...then by an equally friendly cat. Friendly pets usually means friendly people and this is the case. Shawn and Chantal are lovely, personable people who actually take time to chat without becoming intrusive. Breakfast was lovely - good coffee, muffins, croissants, fruit, cereal and a frittata like cheese dish that included a few fiddleheads from Chantal's garden. She also makes her own jams, which are wonderful. The place is not new, this is true, and there's no TV in the rooms. But it's homey, clean and a good place to put your head after a busy day. There's a 'fridge to put beverages and glasses in the sitting room, so if you want to relax with a glass of wine, you can. The back yard encompasses Chantal's garden (gooseberries and black & red currants for the jam) and goes to a lovely brook. Given the ridiculous prices for other inns and B&Bs in Stowe, this one is a good find for the money. My only wish is that there were sidewalks along the road so as to be able to walk into town without getting run down on rte. 100.

Family of four stayed in the king suite. Perfect! The area with the king-sized bed is away from the front of the house, so very little road noise. No complaints from the boys in the front room. There was a 24" screen set up with Netflix, Amazon, and local channels, which was a nice touch. Innkeepers accommodated a slightly earlier than norm breakfast so we could get going. Croissant and homemade gooseberry jam were very yummy. Located close to a little downtown area of Stowe. Not luxurious, but comfortable, clean, affordable, and just what we needed.

This place was perfect for me as I went to Stowe for the first time in many years as a minister for a wedding. Loved its location, price and that it had all I needed. Nothing fancy but clean and friendly. Enjoyed talking to the innkeepers . Hope to go back!

i came here twice last year with a group of friends. this was my first b&b experience, and it has definitely set the bar. atmosphere is chill, and the innkeepers are so nice and feed you well. after a day on the mountain, a hot tub is all you can ask for!!

My first time to Stowe and we stayed at Auberge. The most cost effective lodging in Stowe, as the area is generally pretty expensive. (For example, when I looked at the price of a room at the resort on the Mtn, it was $600 per night. Other accommodations we saw were well over $200 per night for a room.) Auberge is a family run B&B and is modestly decorated, very well located and includes all the essentials and more. There were four of us and we were able to get two adjoining rooms for ~$200 per night total. We had access to a communal living room and hot tub that came in handy after snowboarding (or trying to) all day. Breakfast was included, which was helpful for getting ready quickly to get out to the mountain as soon as possible to make sure to beat the crowds. The Inn Keepers were husband and wife and were personable and very happy to provide recommendations and advice on the best places and ways to see Stowe and the surrounding area. The interior was very no frills, but that was fine, as we had everything we needed.

i give this B&B a 4 because of its price and how convenient it is to drive to downtown stowe and mt mansfield/spruce (compared to all the other resorts and expensive places in the area). the place itself wasn't extremely nice, but it was fine and homey. we had 4 people and the price was great for the two rooms that were joined together by a shared bathroom. the owners very nice and talkative. they made suggestions...we liked one, which was the sunset grill restaurant where the food is great and there were plenty of tvs to watch the bowl games. the other suggestions were odd. for example, the guy suggested we get a class/lift ticket/rental package at the mountain, but when we got there, they did not offer rentals included in the class package and it ended up being a lot more expensive for that person that day(opposed to renting from one of the places on the way instead of onsite). we suspected maybe they were getting kickbacks from recomendations... they had a very friendly dog named max, which i liked to have around bc i am a dog lover there is a 4 person hot tub out back on the deck, which i must say was very nice after a day of skiing, but it smelled funny..like dog shampoo, could have been the chemicals they used to clean it, i dont know..it seemed clean. in the front was a community room by a wood stove to talk, and in the back near the hot tub was a satellite tv and big couch for everyone..but we didnt use it, we just watched the one channel we picked up on the rabbit ear tv in our room. the breakfasts weren't fantastic but i enjoyed them, basically a continental with one dish the lady made each morning, like some sort of bread, muffins, or bread pudding. this was a budget trip so if i were to take another one, i would definately consider this place, you get what you pay for. if you are looking for something nice you may want to consider paying more for other places
