Saw this place on face book so I thought what the hell. Wow. What a great place tucked away, right off the main st in downtown Springfield . Homemade salads and chili, soups and great local bread ( real hard rolls ). Had a great Italian sub, asked them to toasted it and they said of course. I can go to a place that has pizza slices with out trying one. Hand roll dough and great sauce. Menu is good, glad to see they don't sale hamburgers. Best part is that the owners are there and are great people. Talked to them and they had a great vibe, passion for what they do. Will be back .
This is my favorite new lunch spot! Not only because the food is good, but the staff is very cheerful and inviting. My first time here, I tried a couple pieces of their gourmet pizza - yum! The second time, I got a cold roast beef sandwich and it was equally as good. They have tons of homemade salad options, fresh soups and a nice little coffee and tea bar, which I can't wait to try.
It all started with red curry sriracha stir fry. The epic mistake I had made last night led me to this place in A HURRY. Not for their delicious food, but for their restroom - like some kind of divine molten intervention. I crashed through the door at 10am on a Monday. We decided it was worth sticking around and having brunch based on the menu and prices. I had a brekky burrito, wife had a veggie sub. We all shared some wonderfully seasoned home fries. All around wonderful food and service. Had to walk across the street to an ATM because their swiper wasn't equipped for tipping. I won't be back through this town, but if I was, I'd make a point to stop here again.

Dunkin’ Donuts

Reviews:
As we were traveling through Vermont going to a wedding we needed to grab a snack so we decided to stop in at this Dunkin' Donuts located within the Penguin Fuels Gas Station. This particular Dunkin's had a great staff working behind the counter as well as a great seating area to finish your meal. We ordered a few breakfast sandwiches which were made quickly and correctly, as well as a coffee which was deliscious. The only thing I wish this location had was a tip jar. The policy here is that customers do not tip the staff. This is annoying because they definitely deserved to be recognized for the amazing service they provided us. In the end this will be our go-to Dunkin' Donuts when we are visiting friends in the Springfield VT area. The staff alone is enough to draw us back.
Good, inexpensive food, freshly made. During busy times, staff seem to ignore in-store customers while waiting on drive-thru customers. The convenience store the restaurant is located in, has a display (right by the Dunkin Donuts counter), selling ridiculously over-the-top gun-nut propaganda signs. Given the number of mass shootings and other gun violence incidents around the country in recent years, this unpleasant sight detracts from an otherwise, generally pleasant, experience. Parking is limited, but generally sufficient, except during very busy times (or when a tanker truck is refilling the tanks supplying the gas pumps, and thus blocking several parking spaces).

Came with a party of 12 this past weekend. Service was a 5. Great staff, very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the food was horrible. A few of us ordered burgers all of which were cooked well done not to the medium/medium rare we asked for. The buns tasted stale and others had entire ingredients left out of their orders. One of the girls ordered a creamy chicken with vegetables special which did not impress either. We still left a 20% tip but the food wasn't even diner level quality.
Saw the Ad in the hotel folder, and noticed the $1 taco Tuesday. Wife and I took a drive, kinda hard to find, but did...park in the bank lot next door and take the stairs down to the bar/restaurant... Kinda like the Cheers tv show. Very nice woman working , comp chips/salsa...nice touch, had a few beers and a few tacos. Tacos were good, an 8 on a 1-10 scale... I wanted to give it the 5th star, but what started as a really nice visit, got annoying...beer ran out, so the keg needed replacing..took awhile for that, beer wasn't that cold, then when the bill came, I threw my credit card in the Little folder ( half sticking out).. And we waited and waited and waited..annoying.. Still worth visiting...nice little place,
Four of us were visiting from out of state and this place was near where we were staying. Great find! The service was top notch and the special of fried chicken, baked beans, and fresh corn on the cob was a real treat. Definitely recommend it!

Just checked into the Hartness House and this is about the only place in town that delivers. Can't speak to the pizza but their pasta and sausage dinner entree was the bomb! The salad and garlic bread was just average... but seriously loved the pasta. It's a lot of food! I'm from L.A. and a month ago had the famous $24 spaghetti (linguine) at Scarpetta in Beverly Hills which is served a la carte and is about 1/5th the amount of pasta... and I liked Village Pizza's MUCH better! Great value on the pasta dinners. Also ordered the Greek salad for the next day's lunch as there's a $15 minimum and it was good. Plenty of feta cheese, olives and other goodies. Prepackaged creamy Greek dressing. I'll be back in Springfield and can't wait to try the pizza and other menu items. 5 stars for the pasta, 3 stars for the other items so I give this place 4 stars. 4/7/15 My 2nd visit here I had the sausage and peppers sandwich. Very good. I give it a 3.5-4 stars. Good size, good value and tastes good. So still have yet to try the pizza... next visit...
Just fine. I hadn't been in years and ordered a custom pie to go and was pleasantly surprised. The toppings were generous and the pizza was satisfying.
Parmesan sub was huge. Good value. Also had tuna salad. Very fresh veggies. Staff could have been more friendly. Took a long time for food even though we were the only ones there. But for the money was a good

Royal Diner & Pancake House

363 River St
Springfield, 05156
Reviews:
I'm surprised that the Springfield Royal Diner has not been Yelped yet. This is a very rare O'Mahoney diner which was originally located in the Hudson Valley (Kingston, NY) and was purchased and moved to Springfield VT. This diner opened several years ago, but closed down for about a year. The Springfield Royal Diner & Pancake House is currently under new ownership and management and is now open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The atmosphere inside is that of a classic 50s style diner with counter seating and booth seating in the original diner area and additional seating in the attached dining room decked out with posters of classic Americana including a color print of the 5 & 10 Diner, Elvis Presley, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn. Classic 1950s music is playing over the speakers. The menu offerings are typcial American diner fare including egg dishes, pancakes, crepes, French toast, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, comfort dishes (meatloaf, steaks, pasta, seafood, roast turkey), and desserts (ice cream, shakes, pies, puddings). The prices here are pretty fair, most items are under $10, except seafood, steaks, carne asada, and fettuccini alfredo with meat. A list of specials are offered too. From 5PM-8:30PM, it's Pasta Night (Thursdays), Prime Rib (Fridays), and Mexican food (Saturdays). I stopped here for an early dinner recently. I ordered an ice water and decided to go with a classic American comfort dish, which was a Homemade Meatloaf Dinner ($7.95) served with mashed potatoes & gravy and vegetable of the day. The food came out quickly and I could tell the food was zapped. The meatloaf was pretty standard, very firm with a dense mixture of ground beef, peppers, & onions. The mashed potatoes were seasoned and chunky. The gravy was slightly salty, so I used plenty of ketchup for the dish. The vegetable of the day was fresh broccoli. For dessert, I had a slice of Coconut Cream Pie ($2.95), which was very sweet and creamy with a soft graham cracker crust and topped with real whipped cream. Overall, the food was good and decent as expected, nothing bad. The service was efficient and prompt. I would probably return to this diner, if I was in the area again and hungry for a good standard meal at a reasonable price. It wasn't bad but it was easily forgettable. If I'm in the area and looking for a cup of coffee or breakfast I'd stop by over any other local options but I won't go out of my way to eat there.
Wow, worth the drive. Friendly service, good breakfast favs, and gigantic portions. Biggest pancakes I've seen since The Royal Canadian Pancake House. We had the 2x2x2. Enough food for two! The short stack is probably enough for 3 or 4.

We had a very cozy dinner here after a long, cold day of riding at Killington. Driving through Springfield, it was pretty much the only restaurant we saw open. We were seated by the window and enjoyed a great dinner! We shared a french onion soup, which had 4 cheese and just the right amount of onions. We loved it. Then I had the fried scallops, just to see what they were like. I've had all kinds of fried fish but never a scallop. They were good, but I think in general, scallops are meant to be sauteed to keep the flavor. My favorite part was the waitress offered to sub a garden salad for coleslaw! I feel like most restaurants would upcharge for that - especially a salad as good as theirs, with tomatos, cukes, mushrooms, and a delicious dressing - and it was very nice of them. My husband loved his burger. Drinks were VERY cheap. We couldn't believe how low the bill was. We definitely recommend it!
Excellent restaurant on Main street. The staff was attentive and speedy. The food was very tasty. I would definitely return.
Nice atmosphere, good food! Great homemade pot pie the bread crust was wonderful. Very unique. The staff was very friendly. We have gone three times and it's very consistent.

Excellent price for lunch meals. Fresh produce and good flavor. Great views while you eat. They aren't spending money on the interior that's for sure but I would come back. Everything tasted great. Fried rice could've been more flavorful
Owner/Waitress did not acknowledge our presence and did not say thank you when we left the restaurant. She also said "oh my" when we asked for more hot oil (which in most chinese place is a condiment that you can take as much as you need). Food was mediocre at best. Not recommended unless you have no other choice!
Best chinese food in the area and better than most of the places I've tried at or around this price point in Boston. If you ask my wife where she wants to go for dinner 11 out of 10 times she'll say the Oriental Palace. I like the Chicken and Cashews (spiced), the tea is made daily from loose leaf and is excellent. We regularly we get the egg rolls, fried dumplings, General Tso, Kung Pao, the lo main, and fried rices. Is it "real" chinese or the Americanized versions... I don't know and I don't care but I dig it. I don't know if Springfield just doesn't like ethnic food or maybe they're allergic to chop sticks. Every single time I visit there is never more than two other parties. So, If your in the area check this place out I'm sure you'll get a table immediately.

LOVE their Italian combo sandwich. I get it every day. Literally best Italian combo I've had.
Stopped here yesterday while I was in town own bussiness. There aren't really many options in this place to eat so I figured I would just risk it being away far from anything else. I had the small pastrami sub with a can of soda for $6.43 including tax. FYI they dont take amex. Anyway not a bad price the sub had plenty of pastami which was actually not all fatty! The cheese was a little burnt for my liking but the sub was overall enjoyable. Glad i Steered clear of the dollar taco place up the street!
The Sub-way has a good menu of comfort sandwiches. Perfect food after a ski trip, especially if you have hungry teenagers. The service was friendly, fast and reasonably price. This rating is based on the type of food, prices and service.

Subway

14 Missing Link Rd

Reviews:
The subs are good quality and well made. I like Subway's in general, because it's about the healthiest fast-food meals around (assuming you go heavy on the veggies, light on the meat and dressing), the subs taste good, and are a filling meal. One shortcoming of the chain is that they seem oblivious to the existence of soda that is both caffeine-free and diet. In terms of the food quality, and cleanliness, this is a fairly good franchise. During busy times, lines can be long, and wait-times can be long. The franchise is not equipped to handle its maximum customer load. A bit after 5:00pm on a weeknight seems about the worst time. Parking is in short supply, and sometimes difficult to find.
I should start by saying, I signed up for yelp specifically to write this review. Subway is never great, subway is the sandwich equivalent of an episode of Family Guy. You know it isn't the best but if nothing else is on you can at least expect it to be mediocre and that's usually okay for the purpose it serves. This subway, however, is the sandwich equivalent of being gang raped in prison. With every bite of this terrible sandwich, the firey rage deep in my soul is fuelled and further consumes me. My sandwich artist not only burned my bread, but also my cheese, to a dark, almost abyssal, black. I can only assume he did this because he needed to create a masterpiece of expressionist sandwich art that stood as a social narrative on the failures of modern man. He then set my sandwich down and waited 10 minutes for it get cold. More symbolism? Was I now part of an art project exposing the harsh realities of modern life? Then ANOTHER sandwich artist emerged and cut herself with a knife when I said I would like ranch. Why would a knife be required to put ranch on my sandwich at all? At the end of this process I had the most bleak and pathetic sandwich I had ever seen. When I looked at it, I felt it almost reaching out to me, pleading "just kill me."
