We were up in the area over a long weekend and were looking for Italian food. Luckily we decided on this place because we had a great time! We got the sampler of local beers (on a VT shaped board--so cute!) and then each got a pint of what we liked most. We also got linguine with clams and a pizza that was half margherita, half peachy chicken. The food was good and the service was excellent. My only complaint is that the lighting kind of hurt our eyes. We would definitely go back if we find ourselves near Shelburne again.

Please skip this place. My primavera was so lemony I could finish it. The shrimp scampi that one of our party had was also very lemony. The carbonara only had very over cooked pancetta. My hubby had the chicken parm and it was decent. The only redeeming part of the meal was the appetizer of calamari. Drinks were terrible and only came after our appetizer was served.

Situated on a less busy part of Shelburne Road, this little place was a nice surprise. I love the Brussel sprouts.

Visited when in town on vacation. Great friendly service with a lot of recommendations for dinner as well as what is fun to do in town. Very family friendly. Quaint decor. The food was excellent. The sautéed brussle sprouts were the best ever. Thought about ordering a second helping. Kids loved them. Calamari was crisp and light. Pizza Margarita had fresh ingredients and crisp crust. Kids meals were good portions and reasonably priced using fresh pasta. Good drink selections. Local beer and ciders and decent wine list. Would definitely go back.

This place is one of my favorite places in the area. It is kid friendly and so delicious. No matter what you pick you will leave full and satisfied! It is a once a week must in my house whether it is pizza(the best in vt) or dining in I get a craving once a week! If you love pizza and a good NY style thin crust and big slices that you need to fold in half ( ya know what I mean) this is the place, the sauce is perfect & always cooked to perfection. Try the Pappardelle pasta it is a must.

I've been there a few times over the years and the food and service have always been okay. Not stellar but not bad either. Recently though, four of us got carry-out pizza and, although my friends say they didn't tip the boxes much at all, one of the pizzas had the ingredients sloshed to one side as if the box had been tipped over. So, if my friends didn't do it (which I believe) then it must have left the kitchen in that state. Furthermore, the Hawaiian pizza had black olives on it which was a first for us. Hawaiians, in my experience, are normally ham and pineapple (and sometimes green peppers). I called the restaurant in order to find out if that's normal for them. I'd never heard of black olives on a Hawaiian, so I wanted to know if I needed to keep this in mind for if/when we order from them again. Their response, "Hawaiians aren't one of our specialty pizzas, so we don't have a set way to make it. And it depends who cooks it". First, if it's not specifically on your menu, wouldn't you double check with the customer as to what they specifically have in mind? Second, why would it depend on who cooked it? When you go to a restaurant, you expect consistency, right? You wouldn't expect to find Alfredo sauce on a Chicken Parmesan because "Oh, well the chef who makes it with marinara is out tonight."

The pizza is pretty darn good, for Vermont anyway. I haven't had much else off the menu. I mostly order pizza to go and then sit at the nice bar and wait for it while drinking a beer. I consider this wait time well spent.

In general it's not bad, but it's not good neither... I would say it's average ... The food is a little bit salty...No changing station for kids, the ambiance is very good as well as the attention.

Upon first sight, this establishment looked like a quaint and lovely place to go for a glass of wine and a pizza with my sister after a long day at work. On the contrary, I have never had a more humiliating or embarrassing dining experience, ever. My sister and I are both over the age of 21 and have never had any issues with our out of state IDs in Vermont. This is the only place that has ever treated us like we were juvenile delinquents. We were subsequently judged and discriminated against when we sat down because of our appearances. We asked to speak to a manager to inquire why we were turned away and the manager was unwilling to work with us. We had multiple proofs of our names on important credit and debit cards, but nothing else government issued. Do not go to this place if you value your dignity.

Excellent pizza and homemade pasta. The decor could use a bit of work, but overall the restaurant is clean and unpretentious. The service was friendly, knowledgable, and attentive. The prices are reasonable, as well, with entrees running between $12-$17. I'd certainly recommend the restaurants to friends.

I rename this Cattivo Appetito. The Asparagus was overcooked and stringy, the ravioli was sitting in a 1/8inch of greasy oil, the walnut crema was beyond bland and cold and the service was impatient, uncommunicative and acted bored. If you want mediocre Italian go to Olive Garden, if you want good Italian go to Papa Franks or Amazing try Trattoria Delia. Avoid Buono. Advice to the owners, contact Robert Irvine's Restaurant Impossible. You have a good location, good food concepts, but poor leadership, poor recipe's and confusing, old and tacky decor. Good luck. foodnetwork.com/restaura…

I grew up eating Buono Appetito. I live in NYC now so my taste for pizza and italian in general has expanded, but when I go back to Vermont it is nice to know that there is a solid italian/pizza place where I can get good food that is a lot cheaper than NYC. The pizza is great, as are the pasta dishes. If you are in Shelburne, or driving north to Burlington on Shelburne RD (Route 7), stop by Buonos and you'll smell what I'm cooking with this review. Get take out, eat in, or sit at their bar in the back and drink some Vermont microbrews and what have you.

I had a" Ratatouille" moment. If you have seen the movie Ratatouille when the when food critic comes to the restaurant to evaluate the food. I ate the Italian sausage. OMG! Brought back memories from my childhood in Chicago, eating Italian sausage. Very Good!! I had the homemade lasagna. Superb!! Also the meatball that came with the meal, it was awesome as well. Met the owners and they are salt of the earth folks! It would be foolish to pass this place up if your close!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
