This is a great burger-plus-other-options stand. We had some burgers and a chicken breast. The blue cheese burger was fantastic as was the mushroom burger. The fries were tasty too. The chicken breast was juicy and had good flavor. Also, the kids working here are really friendly and energetic. We sat at the sole picnic table in the grass with our dog. When my order was ready, one of the line cooks helped me carry our order to the grassy knoll. This is one of the better roadside stand food experiences I've had. We'll be back for sure.

I experienced several bad impressions before we even sat down. They don't accept their own Yelp offer. I was told that they can only accept the Yelp coupon if it was printed, which makes no sense. Several of the beverages were marked as "Out for the day." Also, They had no soup of the day. The food was, in general, very mediocre. The chili was grainy and did not have much flavor beyond the tomato. The burgers were significantly smaller than the bun, and included 2 very small strips of bacon. However, they did taste good. The chipotle sirloin sandwich also had a good taste. You won't be disappointed if you don't have any expectations. Upon reading the Yelp reviews, we were excited to come. But, in the end, it was disappointing.

What Archies lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for in consistently well cooked food. Is this fine dining? No, but they have the best burger buns in town, make decent fries, and have a fish sandwich to die for. (Seriously, we live no where near this place, but drive all the way there just for the fish sandwiches.) Is the fish frozen? Yup, but if I could buy a box of the fish they use, I'd do it gladly. Yum! Summer, winter, fall or spring -- Archies is consistently good, the people are friendly, the service is fast, and the prices are great. In warmer weather, they have a covered patio, and we like sitting out there. The best thing about it is that the owners are always trying to make it better. What more could you ask for? I love to eat out, and I love fine dining, but compared to every other restaurant in the Burlington area, Archies is the most dependable joint in town, hands down.

Never had a bad experience and I eat here frequently. Quaint, clean, right sized with a nice layout and theme. Turkey burger is off the charts, my favorite...consistently great, every time. I opt for the side salad Food is priced a little more than some but right for the quality you get. Love it, nice work!!!

My first time coming here and I will definitely be back. The sweet potato fries and chips are so delicious. My boyfriend got hot wings and he loved them. Big and meaty and great flavor. He asked for extra crispy and that's exactly what he got. I ordered a cheeseburger and it was very pink, dripping actually. The sign says medium or higher and this was on the more rare side. I prefer burgers well dkne. We brought it back and the cook remade the whole meal, including an extra side of fries. I could not ask for better service. He also came back and checked on us, something not typical for this place with its fast food feel. I'm overall very happy. Prices are great too.

I travel from Jersey to Vermont several times a year and plan my trip around Archie's both coming and going. The burgers are made from fresh local beef creatively prepared and delicious. I love the chips as well as the skin on fries. Their side salads provide a nice mix of greens and I highly recommend the Maple Zinfandel dressing. Archie's is vastly superior to run of the mill fast food options and a cut above better burger joints such as Five Guys.

Fast, fresh, and friendly service. Best burger and fries I've had in a while! Can't wait to go back!

Archies has fresh, local beef at a reasonable price! Not like $14 burgers downtown. The owner was great, the burgers fantastic! Onion rings, home made cole slaw, and chips all great! Highly recommend Archies for the good, fast, old fashioned grill experience. Don't mind the haters who went here for a salad. It's not a salad joint!

We are from out of town and came here for dinner. The building has a cute look to it inside and out. There is indoor and outdoor seating. My husband and I both got burgers. I got coleslaw and he got fries. They were delicious. My daughter got mozzarella sticks and fries. They were also good. The service was friendly and helpful. The outside seating was nice they say your name over the speaker when you eat outside so you can grab your food. Everything was great!!

After driving around Burlington looking for our original destination for dinner and coming out empty handed, we began our search for a different place. We ended up taking a turn towards Shelburne road, towards the end of the road we spotted Archies. Burgers and milkshakes? Sign me up! My SO gets chicken tenders with french fries and a vanilla shake. I get the Vermont bacon burger with chips and a strawberry shake. We split a side of Mozzarella sticks. Our cashier was wonderful, service with a smile and she just had a good attitude. It was a short wait to get our food. We took a seat outside and got down to business! The mozz. sticks were homemade, nice and melty, the breading had a little undertone of corn flakes, but they were expensive for the number of sticks we got: just 4 sticks for a little less than 5 bucks. We liked our milkshakes, but they were on the small side also. The tenders my SO got were good and his fries were average. Now for my meal, the Vermont bacon burger was a little lacking, maybe 1 1/2 strips of bacon, the size of the patty itself was small and burnt (but not inedible), the amount of cheese left me disappointed and other than a little splash of maple in the first bite it had disappeared as I finished the burger. Archie's homemade chips were perfectly salted and had quite a crunch! So a little good and a little bad. I'm sure the smaller portions were because of the local ingredients being more expensive but I was still in debate over to give 3 star rating or a 4 star rating. Someday I'll stop by and give them another shot at 4 stars or maybe 5 stars!

Archie's is great, I love their turkey burger with the side salad (the maple vinaigrette dressing is delish!). I usually grab take-out when I'm passing by. The sample in-house made potato chips are nice while you wait for your food to be cooked. They feature the same quality ingredients as the Farmhouse in Burlington, for a fraction of the cost. One thing that would make Archie's even better? A second location near the movie theater in Williston!!!

The food is always good, cooked right, philly steak, burgers, chicken, all good, only the fish and chips and BBQ pulled pork wasn't to my liking. They make their own chips, always hot, local and fresh.

2 Starts is only because they make a decent burger. The Onion rings are greasy and gross- frozen? Fries OK. DO NOT GET ANY FISH! Don't know what she was thinking, but Mom got fish. Frozen shaped-fish-product, super greasy, advertised as "fish n chips". My burger was OK.

The best chicken sandwiches and turkey burger we've ever had. Chips are really good too. This was great driving through Shelburne.

This place is obscenely warm. They have ceiling fans indoors that provide absolutely no circulation and have no windows open. I feel especially bad for the cooks who are next to the grill, you can see them covered in sweat. The layout inside isn't great and the line usually crosses the main entrance making it very awkward to enter or exit. The outdoor seating is also limited. In terms of the food, I found my burger to be quite dry. Although their smoothies weren't too bad.

Great burger joint. If you're looking for a good burger and some interesting sides, stop here. If you're looking for a great salad, don't stop here. Don't get me wrong, my menu of choice is the burger, no bun (gluten issues), fries and a side salad with the maple zinfandel dressing. If I'm in a crazy mood, the double burger with no bun and a baby swirled cremie. The meat is local, organic. Comes in on either wednesday or thursday so Thursday is a great day to go. Plus you avoid the weekend rush. The staff are a great bunch. We prefer going at non-rush times to chat a bit. If we're doing the flirt tour with out-of-town guests, this is one of our stops. It's a lot like Vermont, not pretentious, doing one thing very, very well, and doing the local-vore thing.

Just visited for the first time. Excellent service, friendly staff, fresh and locally sourced food at a great price... What's not to love?! The onion rings were crispy and hot: delicious. The fries were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside: great. My turkey burger was moist and divinely tasty. I hope to return, if only to try the soft serve ice cream on a hot afternoon or those freshly made chips that looked and smelled so nice.

Ok, let me be real clear here..this place is freaking GOOD. The burger is out of this freaking world kinda good. I see people bitch and moan about silly things like "temperature of the place" etc...get your awesome food to go if you must gripe cause the food here is great. Local ingredients and homemade chips that will knock your socks off. Out of all places Ive had burgers in, this is by far THE BEST, its different..even the bacon is awesome. Just get yo' ass in there and try it!

You won't find a better locally made burger for the price, and you can't beat the atmosphere of a good, old-fashioned burger joint with nice employees who enjoy serving good food to their neighbors. The fresh buns are a perfect texture and size for the burgers, I hate big burgers with buns that fall apart, or big chewy buns on a smaller burger. You don't want to die without trying their onion rings! There's an unusually large and eclectic menu selection compared to other burger places. I'm glad they're located a ways down Shelburne Road or else there would be hordes of burger lovers lining up to flee the good but overpriced burgers of downtown.

To the really " sweet" guy who took my order at this place just now. It's not my fault you work here, so don't be rude to me bc of it.....

We love going to Archies. The burgers are delish, juicy- espeically the guiness burger with blue cheese and onion rings right on the burger! is your mouth watering yet? It gets better. They do their own chips too. Everthing is very fresh, and the turn around is fast. You go in order at the counter, get your own fountain drink while you wait Seating can be tight if its busy, but there are picnic tables outside too. They also do ice cream and milk shakes.

The thing about Archie's that I really like is that they don't try to be something they're not. They offer good, fresh, locally sourced food that is served quickly. The menu is not really extensive, but for this type of place, I wouldn't want it to be all that long anyway. They rotate in a few specials every day, which is a good thing. It's an even better thing when they serve their Ranchero burger - topped with salsa and pepperjack cheese with a fried egg over top. Just delicious. They do have one or two vegetarian options as well. You get the option for fries, "Archie's Chips" or a salad with your meal. I've had each and prefer the salad. Their fries are good, the chips are really a matter of who cooks them, I think. It isn't easy to make potato chips by the order unless you've been at it for a while. It does taste like they change their fryer oil very often - always good. Since this is an alternative to the fast food chains, expect kids and expect volume. You can sit outside if the weather is nice.

Good, tasty burgers. I don't know if they're using local meat or not. Veggies that come with the burger are somewhat lacking - but they'll add jalapenos if you ask. The added fries fill up the basket and (if you came for a burger) you'll likely leave happy & full.

Eat here! On our way to Smuggler's Notch via the Essex Ferry.... Burgers were done to order and they have a unique list of burger options. I had the homemade bleu cheese and onion rings on mine and it was excellent. Traveled with my wife and 3 children (ages 1, 10 and 11) and all had an excellent meal.

I really want to like this place. We live nearby and wish for a good, fresh, local burger. The local beef us good. The salmon sandwich is good. But the place misses the mark in some key ways. The onion rings were good, but at $3.99, there were so few, they worked out to be about 75 cents each. The "lettuce" with our burgers was limp and slimy. And the chocolate creamy was inedibly gritty, with almost a plastic taste. What a disappointment. This was the second, and maybe last visit.

Have had lunch here twice now. A local burger that was pretty good and a cheesesteak that while I wouldn't call it bad, was different that what I expect a cheesesteak to taste like. Friendly place and a nice atmosphere, reasonably priced. Not a destination spot for me, but anytime I'm driving through Shelburne and it is lunch time, I'll stop in.

So this is a continuation of my last review. I don't understand why I can't find a good, decently-priced caesar salad in the Burlington area. I spent almost $10 on a salad that was, like the last one, the size of a side salad. I walk out to my car, look in the bag, and find it's a tiny takeout container halfway full of lettuce. There was no chicken. I walked back inside to get the chicken (I should have brought the whole thing back) and the cook told me he swore he put the chicken in the bag and asked me to go get the bag in my car and prove there was nothing in the bag. He then glanced over and saw the wrapped chicken sitting there. Honestly now. You don't make a customer turn around and go the their car and back to prove you made a mistake. Unbelievable. It's a good thing I'm made of money and wasn't hungry when I ordered this (sarcasm). Needless to say I will not eat here ever again. With that being said, I'm now on a mission to find a decent caesar salad in BTV.

This place boasts a fresh take on fast food however everything on the menu is frozen or pre made. Food was terrible and the staff was rude including the owner. dont waste your money here.

Fantastic burger, fresh ingredients and fast service. Had the Vermont cheddar burger, would highly recommend it! It was GOOD.

I love Archie's, they're fresh, delicious and local! The onion rings and chips are great, you can't go wrong with the specials. Although, my favorite is the Vermont Maple Burger. This is a perfect spot along Rt. 7, always a treat and they always have Switchback.

This place has the best burgers on a road full of nothing but chains. The service is so friendly no matter who's behind the counter. We come here frequently and love it! The buns are amazing as well as the homemade chips.

Great Burgers. Simple set up. Decor is odd however the food is top notch. This is a great place. They make some chips that are out of control. Highly recommended.
