We saw this from the side of the road and decided to check out the Yelp reviews. We walked to the restaurant from our hotel (Comfort Inn) since it has adjacent parking lots. The outside of the restaurant is a little odd, seems like it is in an office building but once you are inside looks like a fancy steakhouse. The restaurant only had a few min wait for 2people on a Fri night. The bar was busy and loud. It was an interesting mix of customers, saw a few babies but none were a nuisance! I had a signature cocktail (sparkling pear something), Caesar salad (huge, fed two!) and the Southside burger. I really liked the "coleslaw" which I think was a kale (?) salad. My boyfriend enjoyed his prime rib. Friendly, nice, good food, I would come back.

Wine list excellent! Bar and restaurant beautifully designed. Love the wall of wine. Had a great time. My food cooked to perfection. I'm pretty picky and do not write very many reviews. I'm can't wait to go back. Wally brought a great restaurant back to the old South Station.

Very good service and food. Quick to be seated and for our food to arrive. Candied bacon for life, burger was a little too pink for my liking but still delicious.

We had just arrived in rutland after a very long trip from NJ. Looked at Yelp and frond this wonderful restaurant just a right turn off rt 4/7. Enormous board in the foyer announces what in the house that night. Inside the dining room is simple yet welcoming and comfortable. Out host, Patrick could not have been nicer getting us to a table. And then our server showed up...Debbie! Well she could not have been more helpful. She guided us through the menu and was so much fun. Nice to see someone enjoy their job for a change. Everything was brought out quickly but not at all rushed! And very delicious. But one of the secrets is that Patrick makes all the desserts and the breads. I would have been happy with a basket full of Irish Soda bread myself as it was the best I've had. We will definitely got there again. I know my husband thought so much of it he brought his 4 friends there just this past week. Bravo!

This place is really unique in the Rutland area. By that I mean there isn't really another restaurant that fills the same niche in terms of a upscale steakhouse. The service here was great, and the people were very friendly. I gave it four stars because of the prices. It is definitely not a budget-friendly restaurant, but the quality is good, so in the end it's worth it. Some of the prices just didn't make sense to me though. Definitely try some of the homemade breads, they're awesome. Also a great selection of wines. Given the chance, I'd revisit this place for a great steak.

Great experience overall! Nice people, excellent service, phenomenal food! Here's what we absolutely loved: ahi tuna, meatball lollipops, shrimp cocktail, Mac and cheese appetizers, scallops risotto entrée. What was ok: desert (frozen cappuccino, chocolate cake), burger, chicken tenders.

I decided to stop here based on other Yelp reviews and because I was staying at the nearby Comfort Inn Trolley Square. I was incredibly pleased with the entire experience from start to finish. I visited at 7:45 PM on a holiday weekend and got a table for two very quickly. The host was very friendly and seated us quickly. The decor was upscale and the restaurant was mostly quiet. They had an exceptional wine and cocktail selection. We each had a signature cocktail and they were great! I had a Bacardi cocktail and my friend had a basil sour. Both were expertly mixed and perfectly strong. Worth the premium price. We tried the ricotta fritters for an appetizer. They were much better than I expected for something so simple. The sauce served on them was a perfect pairing and not too hot. The house bread was tasty. For dinner, I had a Southside Burger, served medium. It came with coleslaw and truffle oil fries. My burger was cooked perfectly and was truly delicious. The fries had a hint of earthy truffle flavor and were dusted with partisan cheese. The coleslaw was home made and among the best I've had in some time. It was not overly sauced nor overly sweet and they used a mixture of greens beyond the normal cabbage and carrots. My friend had a salmon filet which was also perfectly cooked and paired with a tasty risotto side. Service was excellent and attentive from start to finish. On leaving, I asked the host for a good local ski shop open late and he was able to give me a few options and was willing to call to see if they had what I was after. This was above and beyond. The total price for the meal was incredibly reasonable and an amazing value. I will definitely return again and recommend this restaurant to friends.

I've eaten here twice. Both times lousy service! I was compensated last time and told 21 minutes was acceptable for medium filet at 36 bucks. No, not when people getting burgers next to me that came in after me, got their food. I'll never eat there again and if you're from out of town here, try table 24 for steak. The price doesn't equal the product here.

I had a good steak frites and my wife got salmon over risotto. Both were good; the steak was better. It was nice and medium rare with a char grilled flavor on the outside. Waitress was very caring and attentive. Would definitely come back.

We've eaten here twice after skiing, and had a great meal both times. Attentive service, delicious steaks, burgers, chops, and salad (especially the Wedge), reasonable prices, spacious dining area, beautiful decor, and quiet ambiance make this a much better dining choice than the noisy ripoff that is the Wobbly Barn in Killington. This is the place to go for a sit-down dinner after a day of heavy skiing.

Three friends from NYC and ATX meet up at Killington for some ski and snow. Came here b/c of the reviews and well us guys needed meat! Place was nice and clean, staff was friendly and nice, however, the steak although good was NOT dry aged. We've all had dry aged steak and we all agreed that it was not and was under seasoned and an over priced lie. I've also worked at a steakhouse for years so I would know. Very disappointed.

Rutland Vermont has not had a good place to get a great steak since the Sirloin Saloon got bought and run into the ground. Last night, I had the best dry aged steak that I have ever had! This restaurant has just recently been remodeled contemporary American. It is very cozy and comfortable. It may be a bit out of place for Rutland, Vt, but I really enjoyed it! I cant wait to go back again and have one of the delicious looking burgers they have on the menu! Oh, Those Truffle Fries, that came with my steak, Incredible! Maybe a bit pricy. But I am willing to pay good money for a Great Steak!

There is an error as there are two entries on Yelp for this restaurant. So here is my review again. I am not sure whether to give four or five stars. I did four as it was a long wait for a table as they were very busy but they don't take reservations for parties of less that eight, maybe they should. Good decor with the upmarket feel of an established restaurant. Menu good with a wide selection and pleasant and friendly staff. The food was very good, I had a bone in ribeye and it was perfect. I will go again. If you have to wait for a table then take the five minute walk down the road to the Tap House and have a beer or three.

We were here for a ski trip and lived in the comfort inn just cross the restaurant. At the beginning, we were not sure about the restaurant as it seems big and high-end (which makes you think it is a hotel trap). Husband persuaded me to go as he wants steak after skiing for the whole day. I am so glad that he made the right decision. The restaurant is beautiful - with a wine wall. Nice decro and classic. The bread basket is delicious, i.e. the raisin one. The portion is huge and price is incredibly reasonable. We got $28 dollar rib eye and it can feed 2 people easily. The steak is juicy and flavorful even without putting on any special sauce. We were joking that a steak like this would be charged at least $40-50 in a restaurant in NYC. I got the smoke house burger. It is delicious and well executed. I asked medium rare and it is not overcooked. the fries and cole slaw coming it is so delicious and it is not those normal things you get at a diner. The fries are parmesan flavored and the cole slaw has greens and no over-dressing. Service is outstanding as well. The waitress filled our bread without being asked and split the salad into two portions for us. This changed my vision about food in Rutland Vermont!!!
