Inn at Clearwater Pond

The Inn at Clearwater Pond was excellent, I am so glad we decided to snap up the Eversave when we saw it. The innkeeper was very friendly and personable and I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the area. The main building has four guest quarters on the second floor. We had a HUGE room complete with sitting area, large windows and a spacious adjoining bathroom. The rest of the main building consisted of a large entry room, receiving room with lots of Vermont products for sale, kitchen, dining, game room, and a larger family type room. The whole house was surrounded by deep wrap around porches. There is also a cottage with two additional guest quarters, barns, a screened gazebo, a swimming pond full of frogs, horses, and some additional outbuildings. The property backs up to Quechee Gorge. Breakfast was different and very tasty each day. The first day was a spinach and egg dish, served with granola, fruit, coffee and yogurt. The second day was stuffed baked french toast with the same accompaniments. The innkeeper made reservations for us for dinner the second night we were there, just another great touch. The decor of the rooms was a little more modern than most B&Bs and I rather enjoyed it. Our room was outfitted with two nice leather chairs with ottomans, a substantial king sized bed with white, red and black linens, and some interesting artwork (little pewter and copper figurines on a shelf, etc). Such a nice time, I think we will splurge next summer at full price to get a weekend away here.

After briefly checking out the gorge we browsed through this cute little shop. They sold everything from fudge and eggs to gift cards and hats. I just had to try some authentic homeland fudge and Vermont maple syrup, yum.

The Pippin Inn is everything you want to find out of bed and breakfast in Vermont. And don't be concerned by the lack of reviews, they were not going to be open this year, by lucky for us they are!! The house is beautiful with all of the old finishings that are so unique to this area. We stayed in the beautiful suite which has tons of light and looks out over the garden. This house is nothing short of charming at every turn! Worth the two minute drive outside of town, it's an amazing place to relax and enjoy everything Vermont has to offer within a short distance. Mark was a wonderful host, we can't wait to come back again!

We stayed the night at the Parker House Inn, spent time at the bar, and ate a wonderful dinner. The hospitality, service, quality of the food was stupendous. As a visitor from California, this restaurant and inn is head and shoulders above a lot of places we've been to from one coast to the other. Thank you for such a great experience. .....we will be back. J and G
Quint inn, table overlooking river. Service was good, Fixed price menu at $70 pp was a rip off, more than individual items on regular menu. Food was good but not worth the price, it should have blown my socks off.
Food was great, service was okay. The smoked seafood board is really good, but only serves two - not a whole table. I got the crispy duck with blueberry compote and risotto - absolutely delicious. My sister had the seafood risotto and loved that as well. The salmon was also a hit at the table. The downside was that it was really hot that day, and the window unit air conditioner couldn't really keep up, and the waitress seemed to forget about us for long stretches of time so the heat got bothersome. I would go back though, especially during ski season. Most of the dishes have mashed potato as the side which is not my favorite, but I think they sub in other items pretty willingly.

My wife is from Vermont, and this location is quite close to her house. She has been visiting here for a decade or more, but today's visit was my first time in for something to eat. First thing I noticed was they have several beers on tap. Something like 10-12 different beers to choose from. But since I don't like my wife's driving, I opted not to drink on this stop. :-) The Setup: Pretty casual in here, with plenty of space, and a TV playing the ESPN Bowl Games. They've also got several 'old style' video games in here as well. Pinball machines and arcade games from the '80's era. Therefore, if you have kids, great place to stop in and let them play around a little bit. The Pizza: We ordered up a Vegetarian (for one of my sons who has now been a Vegetarian for - 2 days, wonder how long that kick lasts, bwahah!) And also a pizza with everything (for me). The vegetarian pizza was not greasy and very tasty actually, and the pizza with everything was greasier, but that is the way I would expect a pizza with a lot of meat and cheese toppings to be. Very good pizza, cooked right, and tasty. Summing it up: Nice little place to stop in with the kids (for video games), or without the kids (for a beer). And great pizza. Next time I visit VT, we'll be stopping in here again.
Having eaten at Pizza Chef before (pizza is ok) I decided I would order a small pizza for dinner the other night. The young lady told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later and they hadn't even started to make it. She couldn't find the ticket at first but then found it misplaced over at the preparers table. Despite that this was their screw-up, all she did was ask me to wait, that they would put the pizza in then. No offer of a free soda, or even a cup of water while I waited. This is what you get from 20 somethings who don't have a clue about running a business and customer service.
Stopped here after a trip to the Gorge. A standard pizza joint: pizza, beer, video games. We didn't expect much, but the pizza was surprisingly tasty. It passed the taste test from our picky eater kids. We're from NY, we eat a lot of pizza, not every one of our kids agree on pizza. They all liked this pizza. Deeper-dish crust, saucy, cheesy. A crowd pleaser for our whole family (ages 2,5 and 7). Plenty of seating. Standard fare, don't expect much more than fresh standard ingredients. I was glad to see the craft beers on tap and in bottles/cans. A bonus: great video games running on a quarter each. They have Double Dragon!

When you're visiting Vermont, you want a good Vermont-y breakfast. If you're around Quechee/Woodstock, Dana's is where you get it. I went there for breakfast Labor Day weekend ('08) and had a lovely meal with my family. It's a family-owned place that seems to be a favorite among locals as well as visitors, a place to be a regular. It's friendly, sunny, hearty (not at all heavy or greasy), comfortable and family-friendly. And I love the little quotes they have painted on the sugar boxes on the tables.
We stop by for breakfast once or twice a year. Good hearty traditional breakfast.
Stopped for breakfast. Food was very good. Price a little high but I would stop by again.

Came with the kids. Basic American-style food. Bar tender was serving the bar and dining room but was attentive and quick. Kids menu was well-rounded and they were happy (all you can ask for). Burger was one of the best I've ever had. Tender, loose, and a perfect medium. Fries were outstanding too.
The place had a sign on the door saying it had run out of propane earlier in the day but was open for business.. we were hungry so went it anyway.. Won't get into details because maybe they were just having a bad day (it was Friday 13th!) but we really should have gone somewhere else... Shepards pie was ok though.
This restaurant was right-next to our motel and open late, so we gave it a try despite the average reviews (we had no other options really). It was a Friday night and they had a live band which was actually pretty good. I ordered a steak which was below average and came with access to the self-service salad bar. The salad bar was a tragedy, at least by west coast standards. Quite honestly, they should just get rid of it and serve side-salads, because when you see the presentation you will want to cry a little. We sat out on the deck area, which was really dark and could've used some additional lighting. While getting eaten alive by mosquitoes, I found it difficult to talk to my fiancé, because of the large umbrellas on the table, which were unnecessary and obstructionist at night. This isn't reading like a a great review, right? Rest assured the wait staff is actually quite friendly, and the beer is really good.
