My wife surprised me with a weekend getaway to Golden Stage Inn for our 25th anniversary. I can't say enough about the innkeepers Julie and Mike - from the minute we arrived they made us feel welcomed and comfortable. The inn was very homey and clean. Our room (Otis' room) was like new - spacious and inviting. Breakfast was delicious and homemade. The location was great - lots to do (and eat) nearby. We are looking forward to visiting again soon - and telling all our friends about it.
My husband and I stayed at the Golden Stage Inn from a Sunday to Friday and had a lovely time. Julie and Mike were wonderful hosts! The two course breakfast varied every day and was delicious. We looked forward to Julie's homemade soups in the afternoon - and the hot cider and cookies! Our only regret is we weren't there on a Saturday for the chocolate cake! We had the Otis Room (recently remodeled) and it was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were definitely "Comphy Sheets". The bathroom had a Bain bubble tub which was enjoyed apres skiing. This room also had two chairs. I enjoyed the downstairs living room... great daylight to read or knit. The room had nice gas fireplace to keep you cozy. We have enjoyed traveling to many B&Bs over the years and I rank this one the nicest that I have stayed in. Hospitality - 5 Star Cleanliness - 5 Star Delicious Food - 5 Star Comfort - 5 Star We will be back!
We stayed here for the night and it was fantastic! Lynn and Michael are the loveliest of hosts (and chefs!) and the place is just super. Super cosy living room with board games and a fire place, and the bedrooms are a thing of beauty. Fireplace and a great jacuzzi, plus a wonderful bed on top of that. We'll be back soon!

This has become our favorite breakfast place in the Ludlow area. The morning staff is friendly and welcoming. This is one of those place where local regulars are treated by name and first timers are greeted with a hello and a smile - just what you want as good customer service, especially in the morning. The breakfast pastry selection is mouth watering - beautiful to look at and better to eat. This is a scratch bakery and all the products have the look of hands on baking - thank you! The breakfast menu covers all the basic offerings but it's the deliver on the promise that's so refreshing. Eggs exactly as you order them, home fries uniformly cut and with great flavor and bacon with just the right amount of smokiness. It also has to be one of the few remaining places on earth that you can get real cooked (not instant, microwaved) oatmeal! The coffee is smooth, with a good deep flavor and no trace of harshness. We took a couple of lemon squares back to the hotel for an evening snack and they were super. Rich lemon flavor, smooth and balanced between tart and sweet. As a bakery and breakfast/lunch place this one is high on our visit again and again list
I've been traveling to this area for almost a decade and am thrilled to find a lovely, quiet place where every thing was simply delicious. Broccoli quiche where you could taste every components and old fashioned coffee cake.
This place was good! We were originally going to go to a breakfast place down the street but it was closed for the day so they could "run errands." Anyways, this place was open and it was very good. There's nothing very extravagant about the menu, but the food that they did have was good. The most amazing part of it all though was the fresh made bread! It was super tasty! The other baked goods were worth buying and taking for our road trip! The ambiance was nice as well, as it was a very cute place... Again, nothing special though... But definitely a go-to if your hungry in Protersville Vermont (Which by the way is the middle of no where...)
