Stopped on the way to Canada and wasn't expecting much. We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality and taste of the pizza and a stromboli. The staff is very friendly and really made sure we were taken care of. The food was so good that we made it a point to stop again for lunch on the way back from Quebec. If you are coming through this way, I would highly recommend making this a planned pit stop.

Stopped in for pizza, wait staff is friendly, pizza has a nice crust and an above average flavor. Pleasantly surprised. Prices are reasonable as well.

Never been here before. Went with my husband, step daughter and her two, friends before graduation. I was pleasantly surprised with so ,any choices on the menu. I had a small chef salad and two meatballs, everyone else had a steak and cheese calzone. Meatballs were bad. Everything else was great.

Food and taste of it has changed, not as good as it used to be. Nothing changes, wouldn't make a special calzone from another hoagies, over priced it when I asked them to make it for me... (Like begged).

Pizza was good but not enough to eclipse bad meat balls pasta. Friendly staff and free fountain drink refills. Hot sub and hoagie menu is interesting. Venue could use a little facelift, better tables and maybe a coat or two of paint but then again this might drive the locals away.

I ordered a Meatball Calzone and thought it was quite good. I haven't actually had anything else on the menu so my review is reflective of just my Calzone. Very friendly waitress. I will be back next time I'm visiting my parents (who live in the area).

We stopped here for lunch after asking a local if it was good. We had a small pizza for lunch and a couple beers. The pizza is as good as we get at home. Not thin crust although it is available but he hate thin crust. Sandwiches looked good as well as the pasta.

The thin crust cheese pizza is my favorite. There pesto pizza is actually pretty good as well and the buffalo chicken salad is worth trying. The ricotta and spinach and chicken and broccoli calzones are to die for. Just to throw some suggestions your way!

Hoagie's is one of my favorite stops when in Vermont. Anyone coming here for pizza should know that it's Greek-style, pan pizza. And for what it is, it's delicious. Don't come here and expect New Haven-style pizza. (Don't go to VT Pie & Pasta Co either for that - go to Ramunto's in St. J) Anyway, Hoagie's has an extensive menu, most of which my wife or I have tried. The only fault I can mention is that their calzones have no ricotta cheese (except for the spinach & ricotta). They have only mozzarella cheese. ??? Other than that, everything is usually perfect. The garlic knots are AMAZING! The cheesy breadsticks are very good! If you want something a little healthier, get a turkey sandwich. They'll grill it if you want. Very good! And the staff is always VERY friendly and accommodating!

I would not get pizza here. You can just see it is like Pizza Hut but at cheaper prices. We go there rarely and only when nothing else is open and order from the menu poutine is passable or pick from the buffet the quality is homemade like going to eat at a friend's home not nearly professional quality but not the worst. Believe me you can do worse in these parts.

This place serves the worst pizza. The pizza tastes like cardboard with watered down tomatoes slathered on top. They skimp on the toppings as well. Additionally, the counter service is horrible. This is one of 2 Hoagie's pizza shops in the area. The other (equally bad) Hoagie's is up on Main Street in Derby, VT., next to the I-90 exit. Avoid both places as you definitely do not get what you pay for at Hoagie's. The best pizza in the Newport / Derby area is at the Price Chopper grocery store (72 Commons Drive in Derby). Go there and avoid Hoagie's pizza.

stopped here with the family en route to New Hampshire in the summer. we were all hungry after spending hours in the car driving out of Montreal and dealing with the devil that is passport control. I'll say I've had better pizza, though it was a bit too saucy and messy, but it wasn't terrible either. You can tell when you're in there that the place has its regulars because the staff knows them, but it was adequate for what my family was looking for, and when we find a restaruant when we're all together where we can find something to satisfy everyone, that's huge.

A-OK, that rating option sums up Hoagies. So long as you know that you are in for a local-style, fast-food, fast-service, joint, you'll be okay. Ordering is a little odd and the place is often crowded. Just go to the counter, order and pay. They'll bring out your fixings a bit later. The food isn't extraordinary but the prices are reasonable. Think of Hoagies as a local version of Dominos. This is the locals joint for pizza and beer. I don't love the pizza but I don't hate it either. All-in-all, worth a stop if this is the type of food you are searching for. We go there a few times each season -- either eat in or take out -- while we are in town visiting our lake house.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
