Far and away the best meal I have had in almost 10 years of coming to the area. We came in at almost 8pm on a Tuesday night, in the off-season with 9 people including 5 kids. We were a wait staff nightmare waiting to happen. We had to wait 15 minutes and they were full and already had 3 tables of 8-9 people seated, but 1 was finishing up. They kept apologizing saying they needed to wait for 1 table to leave to have enough room and had warned us when we got there. Once we say our waitress was EXCELLENT!!!! She wasn't bothered by the tired, hungry kids who we had kept from dinner for too long. Diane had a smile on her face the entire time and was more then helpful and accommodating. I had the Diablo burger which was cook to a nice medium-rare and very spicy. The jalapeno relish was not cut with pickles or anything so it had a lot of kick to it. The Parmesan truffle fries were good, but almost too much cheese on them. My wife had the BBQ chicken sandwich which was cooked well and she liked. Our friends had the fish tacos which they loved. They came in a crispy, fried shell rather than the typical soft, but they loved them. Others at the table had different burgers and everyone was more than happy. They rotate the Vermont beers on tap and had a nice selection. We had Fiddlehead IPA which is hard to find, but they had others like Magic Hat Single Chair Ale and Switchback. It is a bit pricey compared to the rest of town, but the food and the service made it well worth it and we will definitely be going back.

Great place to take the family for dinner! We went early on a Saturday night in the summer. The service was great. I had the grilled salmon and it was delicious. My son enjoyed the short ribs and my husband really enjoyed his burger. There were many families there at the same time and the waitress and host managed then all wonderfully.

We stopped here after a long day of driving. Truffle fries and shrimp tacos were great! My husband had the Darcy burger and couldn't get enough. Very good!

Just off the slopes and stroll into this gem of a place! I decided to get a manly meal and chose the Darcy (burger). The meal was accompanied with tasty crunchy oil fries! The burger was full of flavor and was a large portion resulting in me being completely full afterwords. The atmosphere is a tame classy warm one. The service was remarkably fast and polite containing the knowledge of all the selections on the menu. Overall I would recommend This establishment to anyone seeking a high quality moderately priced restaurant.

My husband and I were in VT for the weekend just to get away and passed Mr. Darcy's on the way to our destination. We noted several places that were open along our route and chose to come back here our first night for dinner. We were greeted with a smile and felt really welcomed. After we were seated we were a bit surprised that we sat for over 10 minutes before we were acknowledged by our server then another 5 to 10 minutes before she even took our drink order. Once the drink order was in it was smooth sailing. For an appetizer we ordered the Korean BBQ chicken wings and they didn't disappoint. They were really crispy and had wonderful flavor and was cooked to perfection. A+ on the wings. My husband had the pan seared salmon and an order of truffle fries. He love it all! The salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavors were great. His favorite was the truffle fries. We never had them before and found then simply delicious. I ordered the fog horn leg horn salad and it was really good. I love trying new things and was a bit skeptical about the balsamic dressing meshing with the cranberries and guacamole but it worked and I enjoyed every last bite. My only complaint would be that we found out after the fact they had dinner specials only because we overheard out server tell other diners about them. We were a bit disappointed but the food was great non the less. We moved to the bar and had an equally enjoyable experience. Next time were are in the area Mr. Darcy's will be on our list to visit again.

This was where we had our rehearsal dinner, Friday, May 23, 2014 at 7:30pm. Love Mr. Darcy's! We had eaten at Mr. Darcy's each summer for a few years prior and really loved the food and service, especially the truffle fries!! And we both are huge fans of cider and were happy they have that too. The owner is very nice, and his mom is too. While meeting with wedding vendors in the months prior to the wedding we came up to Vermont during MLK weekend 2014 and of course had dinner here, then again in early April 2014. Our Moms enjoyed the Darcy Burger and salad special and cocktails they had, including one with maple syrup. For our rehearsal dinner there was a chicken, fish, or steak option with sides served and drinks. Then there were assorted deserts ice cream, creme brûlée, and a third option I think a small pie. We were all upstairs in the top room and then some of the other friends and family who wanted to be nearby dined in the levels below. My husband and I stayed super late after most others had left because we ran into our good college friends at the bar and my friends who had flown in from Europe there as well! It was really a fun and glorious atmosphere. Thanks so so so much!

Pretty nice spot with two different areas and an upstairs. Very cozy and elegant with decent prices. I had a mushroom burger with melted VT cheese and a sweet chili sauce- it blended really well surprisingly. The Parmesan truffle fries is what they're known for and rightfully so. Very tasty! I've had similar attempts at some 5-star NY steakhouses and these were comparable if not better. The salmon was also nice but the accompanying wild rice was not that great... It came out cold as well. Other Weak points took it down to 3 stars: Slow service- but they were friendly! The Beet salad was also OKAY... Gluten free Pasta primavera was not good. The sauce had no flavor- no salt, no acidity, no pepper. I would recommend it for meat eaters since their burgers seemed very popular.

A really good experience overall. The staff were energetic and really nice and the food came fast. The food was excellent- good portions and simply tasty. The buffalo wings were just the right amount of spicy, the beef stroganoff was perfect, the butternut squash ravioli was sweet, and the drinks were a highlight. The chicken parm was pretty good but maybe not as good as everything else. Just a really great place, very welcoming atmosphere.

Great food at even better price. Service spot on. Had the Diablo burger. Just the right amount of heat to fend off with a couple points of draft. Bonus. They're known for their burgers and Parnassus fries but they didn't mention the best dill pickle I ever had.. Be sure to ask for maple syrup on the side off you have sweet potato fries.

Great service - Food was served super quick, waitress was just the right amount of attentive. Truffle Parmesan fries are excellent. I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese - SO GOOD. They definitely did not skimp on the lobster.

Food was okay, however our waitress Danielle was very very rude. Asked for a cheeseburger with ketchup and cheese only and it came out with everything on it, so I asked politely for a new one and she said grab a plate and take it off and walked away. Also asked for two honey mustards and she came up with one, I asked for another plate to pour some to split it, and she told us to just share. Checked on us once in an hour of being here. Also took 15 minutes to bring up a coke. Very very rude person and should not be waitressing here. She ruined my families experience.

I wish I could give zero stars. As of this moment our party has been waiting for our order for over 1 hour. Our waitress has been sullen and angry when she could have offered a drink maybe some bread. No, no bread in this establishment that does not require warming in the understaffed kitchen. So don't come here if you want a meal in an acceptable period if time, to be treated well with a sense of customer service or a kind or friendly waitress.

Came here to eat on our way home from northern VT. It was 3:51 PM and they said they had to close the kitchen because they had a busy lunch and needed to prep for dinner. Not sure why they couldn't prepare lunch for 4 people. Having worked in a restaurant lunch is a pretty easy prep. Wish we got to try the food. Just wanted to warn those of you that are traveling there since Mr. Darcy's posts that it's open from 9 am until 10 pm. I would call before you travel to this restaurant.

Just had a really good experience here with some friends. Their food was great and the Owner came and talked with us for some time. Great place and beter food and more affordable than the place next door. I'll be back

I came in from super high expectations after reading the Yelp reviews! I ordered the Mr. Darcy burger, especially after reading the reviews. I was disappointed that it was on a lackluster cold bun. Burgers are just so much better when on a warm bun - even better if it's on something as awesome as brioche! But yeah, I was disappointed in the burger, and ended up just eating the insides and leaving most of the bun behind. The truffle fries were an amazing touch (and I'm craving them still), and our drinks were great. I just wish there was a bit more oomph into "the best" burgers!

My fiance and I were planning our wedding at Castle Hill and happened upon this excellent eatery. We sat at the bar, had a few drinks, a couple of burgers, and --- of course -- the freakin' delicious fries! We met Mark Williams and quickly decided to have our rehearsal dinner at Mr. Darcy's. Fantastic time! We had about 35 for dinner, and then so many more from our wedding guest list trickled in. Mark and his staff were able to accommodate everyone. The food was excellent, the service was wonderful (Thanks for all the drinks, Diane!!), and the whole night, from appetizers in the bar area to dinner and drinks upstairs, was outstanding! And, to back up for one second, Mark was amazingly easy to deal with in planning our event. He gave us multiple menus to pick and choose from, accommodated every request, wouldn't accept a deposit (hand shake only), and delivered on every request. Much thanks to Mark and his staff for kicking off our weekend with class, style, and delicious food! We'll see you soon!

Great bar to get a brew and snack after the slopes. Bar wasnt a big space but managed to snag two seats at the bar. Had a great time. The food was tasty and my gingerbread UFO beer was unique and good.

2 of 4 of us didn't like our meals. Very slow service but pleasant. The two winners were burgers so that doesn't say a ton. Staff and decor etc were nice enough Wouldn't return

Stayed at the Castle Inn down the street so drove by this spot each day during our stay. Decided to check it out on our last night in Vermont because of the decent reviews. Food was very average. Our meals didn't taste like anything we couldn't have prepared at home (and we are not great cooks). I got chicken Marsala on special and my wife got the haddock. Wasn't awful, but just blah. Should've stuck with the suggestions (like truffle fries) people offered on Yelp, because we were disappointed.

Bartender/server Arthur was great! Truffle Parmesan fries are delicious. Perfect place for a burger and local beer after a day at the mountains.

Great spot for a dinner and a drink after a day of skiing. We sat at the bar, had a couple apps and a sandwich. Everything was delicious. Draft beer selection is small but all local, interesting beers. Tracy, the bartender, was great.

Mr. Darcy's was a little underwhelming, although they were PACKED every time we drove by. The Darcy burger was good, the truffle fries were the real winner there! The Mac and Cheese was ok, I thought it was pricy for what it was, it came out SO hot that I couldn't eat it for quite some time, and there was bacon...which I don't remember reading that it contained. Doesn't bother me a bit, but if you're vegetarian, you'd be upset! The drinks were good, you can taste the booze and they were a good size. The staff was knowledgable and friendly. Overall I felt it was a bit overpriced for the crowd and food, but you could do worse.

Sat at a table and waited 20 minutes to be greeted by our server. Waited another 20 minutes to get our drinks. Another 20 for our appetizer (the alibaba, which wasn't anything to write home about). We got the Darcy burger and lobster mac and cheese for dinner which was good. I wouldn't order either again but they were decent. Waited another 20 minutes just to see our server to get our plates cleared...ordered dessert to go and it was Terrible (see picture). Bread pudding was not edible and the "brownie sundae" was a soup of hot fudge with a store bought brownie, and no whipped cream. Pretty disappointing experience.

Another great night at Mr. Darcy's! Stopped in with friends (a party of 9) and we waited - but expected to since it was the Presidents week crazy rush. Food was excellent! From the burgers - to the salmon - to the steak! and everyone loves the fries! Great wedge salad and Mark is as friendly as could be! Always a warm smile and hello when we come in. If you are a party of 2 or a larger party of 10 or more - definitely give Mr. Darcy's a try! Yummo! oh and the Chocolate Mouse was a HUGE hit!!! :)

The haddock covered with panko bread crumbs was a very small portion served was cold sides that were suppose to be served hot. Salad with chicken had 3 small bits of chicken. The waitress brought out a small cup of additional shredded chicken when we complained. Generally waitress could care less... When we asked for separate checks - 2 couples - the checks arrived with a mandatory 20% service charge (tip) added. ...for splitting the check. Waitress said it says so at the bottom of the menu... except it didn't say that at all. It said, "groups of 6 or more and requesting separate checks".... we were 4 wanting 2 checks. she said...I'll give you the owners phone number... lol However, I hear the burgers are good. stick with those.

The sign out front of Mr. Darcys reads "the home of the truffle fries" I jubilantly yelled out to the entire car of sleeping people as we passed it in the fog at 11 pm on our drive into the resort Friday night. No one seemed excited. To my delight come Saturday night it was full on truffle fry fest with everyone pointing out to me that the menu reads they have famous truffle fries, as a few group baskets were being ordered for the table.... I nod knowingly. This place was really packed on a Saturday night, but honestly so was everything in the whole town. Small Town. Tons of Daytrippers. Feeding Frenzy. They were able to seat our group of 11 in just at 45 mins - which I think is pretty impressive given the crush of people getting hangry at the door and bar. The host was calm and collected and kept his promise. While waiting at the bar you can order several craft brews on tap, well drinks, wine or a house made infusion while watching sports on the tvs. They had pineapple infused stoli, which we felt was a little light on flavor and was missing that extra umpf of a second flavor note. The winner was the fireball whiskey infusion with some other cool flavors perhaps ginger, cinnamon and other spices.. Our table of friends quickly disseminated into three polarized camps. Short Ribs camp, Butternut Squash Ravioli w/ Sage Butter Sauce Camp (BSRSBS camp for short), and Burger Camp. All three camps were pretty die hard fans about what they had ordered and remained loyal in board game teams later that night, swearing the others just don't 'get it." Secretly I tried all three and I have to say they all rocked. Cool waitress, minus one for being sold out* of frickles. *yet suspiciously still serving sliced pickles on the sides of the burgers... hmmm....?

The evening we dined, it was winter break and the place was PACKED with families, most with young kids. The host was amazing in nudging the kids to stay out of the way of busy waiters and impatient customers. We got a drink and hot apple cider at the bar and watched the interactions of children and parents - another story all together. Our dining experience was good. Our waitress, despite being slammed with customers, was attentive and friendly. Our food came out at a reasonable pace. The price was a tad higher than warranted, but the food was pretty good. We ordered the New England Clam Corn Chowder, wedge salad, Farmhouse burger, Mr. Darcy burger, sweet potato fries, truffle parm fries, and mac and cheese. The chowder and mac and cheese were just okay. The wedge salad was tasty but the real standout were the truffle fries. Yum! One Yelper complained about the cold hamburger buns, which we at first thought was funny, but, yeah, a warm bun would have been better! Fresh tasting burgers but not wildly original. I'd come back for the fries and salad!

Exactly what you're looking for! In any ski town it can be tough to avoid over-priced tourist traps with crappy food. Mr Darcy's has relatively reasonable prices and the food is several notches above what you would expect. It is clear they actually care about the food and service quality. Salads and desserts were fresh and tasty and well above run of the mill. Burger meat was excellent and we ordered 4 burgers medium rare all of which were actually cooked properly. Teenage son had lobster mac and cheese that was on par with fare in top restaurants. Great local beer on tap for $5 a pint, another relative bargain where $8 is common and I got slammed for $11 at Jackson gore for a pint of ipa. Atmosphere is perfect for après ski and the waitress was excellent. Sure you may need to wait a bit for both your table and food but it is a pleasant spot and they are very busy. Oh yeah the truffle fries are great. I actually hate to post this review because I don't want it to be too crowded next time but these guys deserve kudos!

We had great food, excellent service and a nice time. I had the Darcy Burger (ground short ribs and beef with cheddar) and it was excellent. Also had fied mozz and fried green beans. Had the truffle fries with the burger. also excellent. The waitress was very good and the rest of the staff was also very friendly and efficient. I'll be back for sure. NB - I don't think the food is very original but it is very well done. Most of the items I recognized from other restaurants in southern new england. You will too if you're from there. I'm not taking anything away from Darcy's because they do everything perfect. I just thought it would be important to someone who is expecting original cuisine. Darcy's is like the cover band that plays the songs as well if not better than the original! Definitely make this a stop in Lubdlow! Skip DJ's if you have to!

My family and I will have dinner here at least once during each of our visits from NY. My sister in law and her husband who have a weekend house in Ludlow for the past 2 years now, know the (new!) owner by name and it is a very warm, friendly, family oriented atmosphere. The food is consistently wonderful and their specials are always changing! It is a quaint restaurant where you feel as if you are in a relatives dining room. So comfy! Their sangria is delicious and their Pearl Jam burger is quite the explosion of flavor on your taste buds. My sister in law and mother in law both rave about their salmon. My niece's favorite is the truffle fries and their brownie dessert.

Looking for an OK after ski place for burgers and beers? This is the place Not a culinary must-see but if a well cooked burger and a cold beer is what you crave then this will do. The wait staff are great - when we go there they told us the kitchen was a little backed up so we ordered some appetizers. The Korean chicken wings are really good. The main meal came out soon after and all were satisfied. My wife's burger was rare instead of the ordered medium, but no biggee. We sat upstairs because we were a table of 8 and they did not have the heat on, very cold. Sit downstairs if you can, more action and warmer.

This place was pretty decent...it's quiet up here right now & maybe that's why some things were off with this place. Service - friendly, casual, not super helpful but I don't get the impression they normally are...either way, they were nice. Wine - they were out of Reisling & Moscato so I went with a sweet (not really) Red after my 1/4 glass Reisling. Beer was "ok" according to my beer aficionado husband. The decor in the bar area was cool....I'd rather sit there than the restaurant area. Food was hit or miss. We started with the Mac n Cheese Jalapeño Bites...VERY fried, no jalapeño anywhere, and I didn't bite into any macaroni. It WAS spicy & cheesy...and fried...so I guess they met 1/2 the recipe. I had a salad that was good....not extraordinary but good. Hubby had a watered down version of Chicken Broccoli Alfredo. ..I don't really think the cook drained the pasta (note to chef: Drain the pasta)...the waitress did offer to take it back to her benefit but my hubby was pretty hungry and opted to just eat it. Dessert was Creme Brulee and Rum cake. The creme Brulee came with no garnish but it was really good. The rum cake was equally delicious but no taste of rum....great presentation though. All in all I can see why people would come for food here after a day on the slopes....it's not one of my top recommendations for this area but if you want to try some amazing truffle fries this is your place. Oh, and $80 for everything. ..plus tip. So be prepared to drop some cash

This place has a number of great beers as well as really good burgers!!! The folks who work there were very nice! The ambiance was good at first, then about half way through our dinner the bar area filled up and it became a quite loud. While the place seemed like an upscale comfort food restaurant, it then seemed like a loud saloon that all the rough necks go to after work. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it just didn't seem like that sort of place, so it was a surprise when it shifted... The place was a bit expensive, though it was good. Anyways, this place is ok... Definitely a good spot if you want a burger and a beer...

Great meal at a great price! I highly recommend the short ribs. They were delicious! Great service and averagely priced. And of course, can't forget the truffle fries...my mouth is watering just thinking about how delicious they were!

Attentive service, great management, clean, and oh the BURGERSSSS! Our waitress couldn't have been more perfect, the manager was non stop cleaning, and helping his staff out, and the bartender engaged all customers promptly. Sweet potato or truffle fries on the side were perfect for an accompaniment to my turkery burger special or my boyfriends Vermontster? We didn't feel like sitting in the stuffy pompous Castle Hill Restaurant while we there for a wedding this past weekend so we opted to come here based on the reviews. So happy we did! We are planning another trip and McDarcy's burgers will be our first stop when we get back to town!

I rarely give five stars, but it really isn't that difficult. Five stars means every aspect of the dining experience, from service to food quality for all courses, left me with no complaints, meaning my expectations for the cost were met or exceeded. Prices for all meals, sides, drinks, desserts...everything, were reasonable, and each dish we selected was good, from preparation to service to taste. The shrimp taco appetizer was very good...even my shrimp-averse wife liked them. They are not finger-foods, though; the wonton cracks and the taco will fall apart. That's really the only complaint I can come up with for our experience at Mr. Darcy's. The food was brought out very quickly...the appetizer was delivered within minutes of ordering. The salads (which were some of the freshest spring mix greens I've had in some time) and my son's M&C were delivered quickly, too, but the server knew to wait on our entree's to give us a minute to finish our app. The wife ordered Lobster M&C, which she said was uniquely tasty compared to others she's had in CT. I had the prime rib sandwich. I would have preferred a horseradish sauce with a little kick, but that's a personal preference. The parmesan truffle fries were very good, too. The special dessert I ordered was inventive (Grasshopper - brownie toped with mint ice cream with a chocolate cookie top and green whipped cream-for St. Patrick's Day, I'm sure), and the portion sizes for each of our desserts were spot on...not too large, not too small. We could go back and easily choose other items from the menu which looked appealing. The dessert menu was not particularly large or creative, save for that special of the day, though. Others have complained about the wait, and that certainly wasn't the case for us on an early Wednesday evening. We were in and out of there having had an appetizer, salads, main course, and dessert in ~90 minutes. There aren't a ton of choices for dining out in Ludlow, but Mr. Darcy's is a solid one.

Took the kids and was pleasantly surprised. They have a full bar and restaurant and we were seated promptly. We had a nachos appetizer that was fresh from the oven in something like five minutes. Everything came out promptly, the staff was attentive and accommodating and all of the food except the haddock was just fine. My son had fresh mac and cheese served in a bowl straight from the oven. The butternut squash was great with just the right amount of that good ole VT syrup. Would stop back.

Although our server, Danielle was nice, our Portobello and turkey burger were awful & the truffle fries are certainly not anything to write home about. The crowd here were rude, drunk and obnoxious. They gave us our first impression of Ludlow and unfortunately it's been the theme of our girls ski weekend! We can't catch a break in this town. Don't drink the water! Sorry Mr. Darcy but you're a weirdo!

Granted, I ate at Mr. Darcy's on New Years Eve with a prix fixe menu in place. However, between the quality of the food and the obviously rushed service, there is no way I can let Mr. Darcy's sit at a 4 star rating alongside Sam's steakhouse. The New England and corn chowder was good - not too heavy and by far the freshest item on the menu. The beet salad with gorgonzola over arugula was blah. I am still not sure it was even dressed or just salted and the beets were most definitely out of a can or some other container. We were half way through our salads when our entrees appeared and they were squeezed into any remaining space on the table. My son and I ordered the chicken sorrentino over angel hair pasta and my husband the eggplant parmesan over angel hair pasta. Both were the basic breaded and fried versions but what was truly sad was that they were both covered in red sauce that looked and tasted like it came directly out of a can. The dessert menu was virtually a mirror image of those offered at Sam's (with the exception of a vanilla fudge sundae instead of a brownie fudge sundae) and although they were decent, Sam's versions are superior. Mr. Darcys is located within a few hundred yards of Sam's. Having eaten at Sam's the previous two nights (again not on a holiday night), I would suggest you drive just a bit farther for food that is a step up.

Great burger place. Lively place. Nice decor. Excellent truffle fries. Not much to really say, it's a solid place. Good value. My son ordered the Mac and cheese.. Not good, too cheesy and not much flavor.. But not the item to order here. Get a burger and fries and beer.

There is nothing special about this restaurant. I ordered a pomegranate martini off the menu, they have a full bar, but it tasted like dirty tap water. If you plan on charging me NYC prices for drinks, the least you can do is make a decent drink. We decided to keep it simple regarding the food, Caesar salad was OK, very large portion; chicken wings were tasteless and greasy and the nachos were good but the chips were stale. The only thing that tasted good was the slice of chocolate cake which was probably store bought anyway. Save your money and skip this place altogether.

Was there 5/16/14. For dinner we ordered The Darcy Burger, Mac and Cheese, and Fish and Chips. Food was all good but nothing stunning. Service was good. Truffle fries were worth the stop.

The burgers are excellent and the Parmesan truffle fries are life changing. The staff is very friendly and they have a good selection of beer. I would make the 3hr trip back Ludlow just for Mr. Darcy's

My boyfriend and I went up to Vermont for a weekend and stayed at Castle Hill Resort and Spa (I've also Yelp reviewed them). We went to Mr. Darcy's Bar & Grill for dinner (it was literally 2-3 miles down the road), on a Sunday night and we were pleasantly surprised. The interior looked like it was recently renovated or redecorated; very cozy and inviting. There is a separate bar area to the left when you first walk in. It was pretty large and seemed to have a good selection to choose from. It also had two flat-screen TVs. The dining room was warm, well-lit, and not too busy. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. All of their meats and cheeses were local, and you could tell. The food was absolutely delicious! They had a 4-course meal for $13.95 special, so I got minestrone soup, a salad, beef stroganoff for dinner, and an ice cream sundae for dessert. It was all delicious, but the beef stroganoff was my favorite (I'm still dreaming about it). It was exactly the kind of comfort food you want to eat on a cold (32 degrees) Vermont night. I can't wait to go back to this place and eat more stroganoff!!

Great burgers, exceptional truffle fries, comfortable atmosphere, but a little pricey for a burger.

This restaurant is amazing!! Best restaurant in Ludlow.I had the rib eye steak and could have cut it with a butter knife. The truffle fries are also very good.

Ah, not the best meal or $80 I have ever spent that is for sure. There is not much in the area to begin with, so I can see why people tend to eat there. The place is really nice inside and clean. It has a good size bar area with a tv. The drinks were good, my husband got the apple sangria and it came is a very large wine goblet and he lovedd it. I got just a glass of wine that came in the same size goblet, so that was a good deal! The food however was not really good. Got the butternut squash ravioli, the waitress said it was great, I would have to disagree. Not homemade ravioli, which is fine, but the butter sage sauce was very bland. It tasted and looked like melted butter. Truffle fries, again a pretty big upset. The fry itself was very not fresh cut and very crispy and greasy. Macaroni and cheese was the biggest disappointment of the night. With all the mixes of cheeses it had in it, it was very sad looking and tasted like nothing. Not worth the money for sure, but again there is not much else in that area, so I guess it was not or a Chinese place down the road.

Came here from out of town with a group of 8 after a long day of rehearsal--and had a delightful dinner! The macaroni and cheese was delish. The rest of my table raved about the truffle fries. They had a ton of great beer and drink options and our server, Natalie, was not only knowledgeable but also funny and awesome. I had an English pale ale (delish) but a bunch of people in my group raved about the house-made sangria. I also loved the feel of this place! Awesome stone walls at the entrance, cool greige walls inside, great music--if I lived around here, this would definitely be a go-to.

Four of us went at about 7PM on the Friday night of biker weekend (no we don't ride...just in the area). The bar was busy but not crowded with a few high tops still open. The hostess was able to sit us right away and the dining room was about 80% full. Atmosphere: Nice, a little more upscale than you'd expect compared to the menu, but still comfortable. Menu: Mostly sandwiches and Apps, with about 8 entree's to choose from. This kind of lead to a sandwich meal, but OK saved me some money. Food: We split a flatbread appetizer which would have been too much for one but great for two - four. Tasty and crispy...good job. Sandwiches: Two folks got a special "Cajun Chicken" which they said was mostly a paprika flavor and no blackening spice, so while cooked well and good flavor, not the flavor they expected. I got a burger with bleu cheese and caramelized onions: Really good in my opinion. The fourth person got the prime rib sandwich special, and he thought it was good but not great. The service was very good, the waitress attentive and fun, but not overbearing which is exactly what we wanted. Go..eat...relax a little.

Did not spend much time there but had a few drinks and 2 apps. The bar tender was a really nice guy. Everyone drinking at the bar was super friendly and some great conversations. I had 2 beers on tap (something local - IPA) along with shrimp tacos and truffle fries and it was all great. I would have stayed for dinner if I did not have plans already.

Great pub grub, solid local beer selection and cozy atmosphere. Parm Truffle fries were great as was the burger. Next time I'm up there, I will definitely stop in to try more from the menu.

Didn't think it would be this amazing. Best burger EVER. No, seriously it is. Better than any ive had in nyc at least. I had the farmhouse and it was perfect. Cooked exactly like how I asked for and was juicy as well. Came with fries which were amazingggg. prices are extremely reasonable. you can NOT get a decent burger at this price in nyc

Solid casual dining in Ludlow. Fast good service. We enjoyed our Darcy burger that had just a thin layer of thousand island dressing and cheese. The fried pickles were spears rather than slices and a good twist on the fried pickle. Even the house salad was not overdressed and tasty

What a nice place to go for an upscale dinner at reasonable prices. Server was Danielle. Excellent and very helpful. We enjoyed the menu choices, the specials, everything was portioned very nicely, even the wine. Too many places give you big glasses with a drop of wine. Not here. nice sized glass, with an adequate portion of their house chardonay. Dessert was excellent. i We had a lemon cake that was definitely homemade. Not commissary type of food at all. We'll be back everytime we stay in the area. Hope you have a great season.

We ate at Mr. Darcy's while staying at the Castle Hill Resort. The service was good and the food was tasty comfort food, perfect for a chilly night. We started out with the nachos. They were good, my husband loved them. I had the wedge salad and that was right on point with lots of bacon and blue cheese dressing, a very generous portion. My husband had the macaroni and cheese and I had the Darcy burger. The burger was delish. The fries with truffle oil are awesome! My husband liked his mac & cheese too. I didn't sample it as I had too much to eat on my own. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience. The total for our bill was about $65 (we also had a side of garlic mashed and 2 drinks from the bar). This saved us at least $60 instead of eating at The Castle.

I was very disappointed in the steak I got, it was pan fried and seem like it had been strewing in the pan. It was a very think cut of meet and very fatty. One of the girls had ribs and it was amazing . The pumpkins and sage ravioli was good and the veggie burger they liked . The drinks were strong and decent. I just felt it was over priced

Went there during off-peak season and Mr. Darcy's did not disappoint. Juicy burgers, delicious truffle fries and craft beers make this a "no brainer" if you're in the Ludlow area anytime of the year.

Mr. Darcy's is a welcome treat in what is a pretty dismal food scene in Ludlow. We both had burgers. Mine the Farmhouse, with Apple wood smoked bacon, VT cheddar cheese and truly caramelized onions. I asked or medium rare and it was perfectly medium rare. Hers was Pearl Jam, with caramelized onion tomato jam (a fantastic floor profile!) and blue cheese crumbles and done a perfect medium, as ordered. I added a house salad and was really pleased with a plate of fresh greens with a little shaved parmesan and balsamic dressing - simple, fresh and clean tasting. A perfect prelude to the main attraction. We also had a bowl of superb New England Corn Clam Chowder. It was deliciously lush with a perfect hint of smoke (probably from apple smoked bacon). Also on the menu are some beautiful looking pasta dishes, hanger steak, braised short ribs, sole florentine plus several selections for kids. Our server, Tonimarie, was perfect for Mr. Darcy's and for us. She was friendly, knowledgable and made us feel welcome guests. The owner, Rick, came around to be sure we were satisfied and kept an eye on the floor operation. Mr. Darcy's features local brews and has very affordable wines. It's a warm and pleasant place to sit and enjoy a burger or an entree, not feel rushed and to contemplate on of several delicious sounding desserts.

Fantastic! We stopped by Darcy's on vacation, and that portabella burger is unreal. So flavorful! The atmosphere was sophisticated casual. Clean. Friendly staff. Good sized menu (not overwhelmingly big, but wide enough variety). Dear Mr. Darcy's Bar & Grill, want to open another restaurant in Southern CT? :-)

Pretty good food and excellent service. The burgers seem to be their main thing and they're pretty good but I've had better. They push the Parmesan fries and they're ok but nothing out of the ordinary.

Our Thurs. evening party of five was seated in the bar because the dining room was already pretty full. We didn't mind. Our server was friendly and solicitous. So was the manager. Both checked in on us with appropriate frequency during the meal. We did have a wait for the food, which the server explained was due to a private party on the second floor. Again, we weren't in a hurry, so fine. But kudos to the server for explaining the situation to us before we asked. We had a mix of burgers, salads, and pasta. All were quite good. The truffled thin-cut french fries were exceptionally good. The menu is not large, nor is it particularly interesting. But the whole experience was fine, relaxing, and enjoyable.

Large party, were not told that the chef would not cook burgers to order. They were put down with no regard to temp, when I said something the maitre'd just grabbed a different one off the tray. Wasn't happy with the attitude. If I was told ahead I would have ordered something else. My next door seat mate also asked for no starch, extra veg with her scallops and shrimp and did not get that either. Won't be back next visit to town. Oh, waitress was nice enough and didn't add the gratuity for 8 or more, we took care of her.

KA-CHING! Ludlow just scored a GREAT casual dining experience, courtesy of the near-perfect burgers being served at Mr. Darcy's! We stopped in for a late lunch on a sleepy Sunday afternoon and were immediately greeted by the owner, who seated us quickly. The waitress was also very friendly. As for the food, it delivers! I had the El Diablo burger, which was topped with heapings of fresh sliced jalapenos, pepper jack cheese, and a tasty red pepper mayo. The burger looked to be hand-packed, and was cooked to perfection. The bun was also pretty solid. Moving on to the fries...they were incredible, a reason to visit in and of themselves. Parmesan truffle fries, and worth every penny! The menu is a combination of burgers, pasta dishes, and some bigger entrees like steaks, fish, and chicken. Should be something for every one on this menu, really. Prices at Mr. Darcy's were very reasonable - my wife and I both had burgers and drinks, and were out of there for $30 before tip. It's really nice to see a relaxed, casual dining place like this come to Ludlow. Mr. Darcy's is going to be perfect for families looking to get a quick bite where Mom and Dad can still enjoy a cocktail or nice bottle of wine while the kids dine on Mac & Cheese or burgers.

Another upscale average Burger joint....so many burger joints in this town. Nothing special. Sent my burger back as it was over cooked. Would not return.

  • Courtney M.

Wow! The burgers here are AWESOME and cooked to perfection. We all ordered a different burger. The Diablo burger was out of this world - you didn't even need ketchup. My mother-in-law loved her burger with pineapple and i loved the Farmhouse. I would avoid the wings. Although the menu says "jumbo" they are far from large. They are small and you only get 6 for $8. Go with the empanados or shrimp tacos instead. Hopefully they'll start happy hour specials soon!

Went during blizzard like conditions but place was crowded. The diablo hamburger was good and spicy...which I liked. The kids' menu was limited though we ordered off it but portions were extremely small and nothing came with it besides the main dish. Kids were hungry after their meal. They had run out of some of their beers on a Thursday night.

A great addition to the Ludlow dining scene and, unlike a lot of the other restaurants in town, they take reservations! A 'must have' are the truffle oil fries. The burgers are terrific as are the Nachos. Mac and cheese is great, also.

You have to give 5 stars. Food is great, but when an owner is as involved as the owner of Mr Darceys you really have to take notice. The place was jammed, and service could have gone down the tubes, but the owner backed up the wait staff himself, and constantly panned the place for a visual of someone that looked unattended too. Great place support it. People like this deserve success . French fries in truffle oil.... Wow

Food is great! Great Vermont micro brews! Burgers are a thumbs up. Oh and the bartender Josh is a stud!

  • Luc D.

Yelp has lost it's credibility with providing 4.5 stars for Mr. Darcy's. The staff was friendly and accommodating. But the food and drinks are way overpriced for the quality and taste: a weak blue Hawaiian for the price of a burger, which was so so. Those "godly" Parmesan fries are nothing special and the salmon was sadly what one would expect from eating fish in Vermont.

  • Tom J.

This place takes no reservations.... Or at least that's what the owner/host will tell you. Pretty frustrating to be waiting an hour+, and continue to watch the hosts "friends" stroll through the door to be immediately seated. After the fifth time, decided to say something.... an arrogant reply of "they all made reservations months ago before we changed our policy." Really? C'mon buddy - I completely get that you're allowed to give some priority to people you know, but don't throw it in the face of the rest of your customer base, at least try to and make it less obvious. Once seated, better experience - food was pretty good, service was solid - was tough to get the bad taste from the host out of our mouths.

Great Food, Horrible Help! My family and I were staying in Ludlow for a weekend getaway and went to Mr. Darcy's for dinner the other night. I must say the food was fantastic, however I only gave this 3 stars as the waittress was horrendously rude and set the tone for the entire meal. We felt completely unwelcome there and were uncomfortable the whole time. I'll stick with Sam's Steakhouse next door where they know how to treat a customer.

  • Sonja K.

Pretty disappointed. The atmosphere is pleasant and the service relatively good (although a plate with some food left was taken away prematurely). We felt rushed, even though there were empty tables around. As for the food, the salad was underwhelming, with tasteless chicken and other bland ingredients, but the chocolate cake was good and so was kids' pizza. Waaaay overpriced.

Delicious. Best butternut squash ravioli in an amazing sauce- literally one of the best I've had. Came with warm bread and a great house salad with a surprisingly better-than-average vinaigrette. Burgers are also great, along with the fries. Excellent service.

Bar is a bit small, but still a cozy spot to have a beer or a casual sit down dinner. They do a lot of take out business, so it's not the fastest place on earth. The food is great. We enjoyed the wings, a yummy Darcy burger, and macs and cheese. The bartenders we had while sitting at the bar, Joe and Josh, were excellent and fun to talk to. Highly recommended.

I'd go back just for the hospitality! The new owner (took over in June of 2012) is so friendly and even though we had to wait a bit, the owner kept us up-to-date on our seating. Bartender also friendly along with patrons around the bar while we grabbed a drink for our wait. I had the salmon (cooked to perfection) which was accompanied by an interestingly different (looked like eggplant) buttery/cinnamon squash. My husband - a salad with shredded chicken, cranberries, avocado, and cheese, he liked it, although he thought there were too many cranberries. My son had the macaroni and cheese with bacon. Delicious! What a pleasant surprise and so close to The Pointe Hotel in Cavendish, where there's really nothing nearby except the The Castle which I know is pricey - so for casual family dining, we are more the Darcy's type. Love a friendly staff - a clean restaurant with a warm atmosphere - and the best part is good quality and reasonably priced food! The other reviews by Yelpers brought us here and everyone's review were dead on! I look forward to coming back and trying the burger that everyone on has raved about. I know that during peak ski season, its going to be EVEN HARDER to get a table here but it'll be worth it! We are wishing nothing but the best for this restaurant!

We enjoyed the burgers (very well prepared) and the truffle oil fries. I tried my husband's regular fries which were very good too! Nice to see that Ludlow has a restaurant that features handmade burgers with different topping options. The service was very good and the food was served fast The only negative was being seated next to a service area when there were other tables open.

My boyfriend and I visited Ludlow, VT for the first time a few days ago and, thankfully, found this restaurant! We tried to find it on yelp prior to visiting and were unsuccessful, but after sitting down at our table, the owner informed us that they had just opened the day before. The exterior of the restaurant is clean, inviting, and warm, and the inside is just the same! Beautiful lighting, cool, calm colors, and relaxing music fill the dining room. The prices are completely reasonable -- I had the "IZ" burger (pineapple, Vermont cheddar cheese, caramelized onion), and my boyfriend had the "El Diablo" burger (jalapeno relish, red pepper mayo, pepper jack cheese) and a Longtrail Blackberry Wheat beer, and our total was just $25! And the burgers were absolutely delicious! They also have steak, seafood, pastas, all of which sounded wonderful. We truly had a fantastic experience --the waitstaff was amiable, and totally fine with the fact that we arrived 20 minutes before close! My boyfriend said, and I agree, that if we ever end up back in Ludlow, VT, it would be because of Mr. Darcy's and the breathtaking views from the top of Okemo Mountain!
