We have eaten here 5 or 6 time and have never been disappointed. The burrito, tacos and Po boys are our favorites. Don't miss the guacamole, it's fresh and flavorful. All fresh ingredients, watch the guys make your dish. Wine and beer are top quality. Love the atmosphere.

So some places do worse with time. Fortunately some get even better. Mojo has found its mojo. We stopped by recently again and I'm in love with this place! Great vibe, cool decor, friendly service. And awesome food. Mexican and Cajun with whatever else they love. Had the gumbo. And I haven't enjoyed a bowl of it so much since my days in New Orleans! And then an ahi tuna poke taco dish that was a perfect fusion dish. Throw in a few fresh jalapeños on it and loved this. With a little rice and seaweed salad too. Heaven. Dining companion got the shrimp and grits and could've licked the plate. They have kids options too. Overall just a great place in town. Hurrah!

The chicken po' boy is outstanding and don't miss the poblano rings. All of the ingredients are fresh and local except the shrimp he orders special. I've had 2 different Gumbos. I thought the Vegan Gumbo was good until I had the Jerk Chicken. The Andouille sausage over powered the chicken a bit, but the flavor was amazing. One of the owners is the chef and has an assistant and both pay attention to every details as they fresh prepare each meal. My wife had the chicken burrito which was big for the price, well spiced, and excellent. The customer service is great and you can always find the owners chatting with a customer about food or music or the topic of the day. Also, the rotating selection of craft beers that are hard to find like Lost Nation and Zero Gravity. Local VT microbrews. Enjoy!

Excellent tex mex in Southern Vermont? Not possible you say- not true. Mojo Cafe is outstanding. The first thing that struck me was the atmosphere-Chalkboard menu, technics record player, friendly (married) staff. The kitchen is open- more like an exposed food truck- atypical VT. I ordered the chicken mole and blackened catfish tacos. Both had layers of flavor and texture that my mouth happily chewed and wanted more of. Mojo is definitely two parts food and one part Rock'n'Roll - the bar is made of music supply trunk cases, the walls are peppered with memorabilia, and we listened to Talking Heads, Cake, Radiohead while we ate. This is now a standard stop when we are up again from NJ.

I was visiting my husband in Ludlow and he took me and couple of other friends to this restaurant. The place is not very big and there were very few tables followed by seating at the bar but it definitely is cozy. You have to order at the bar and py and then they deliver the food on the table. They serve only beer or wine so I definitely missed the having mojitos with mexican dineer but, oh well! The very first time I noticed as soon as I walked in, which is unique and neat, was the huge collection of different sauces from different brands set around the bar area that are free to try and some of them I tried for the very first time and they were awesome. We got chips and salsa platter for appetizer and I ordered Tequila Tofu Tacos and believe me when I say that those were the only veggie Tacos I had that did not have Fajita veggies and left burst of flavors in my mouth. I devoured it and ordered another serving for to go. Loved their unique concept, fresh and yummy food, quick service and friendly staff. Only thing I recommend is expansion of sitting area which is especially during ski season.

This place is a refreshing change from the mostly sub par restaurants and bars in the Killington/Ludlow area. It is very hard to get a table here on Saturdays, and it was confusing as to how tables are managed. When I went there it was the girl up front helping a line of people that managed the table. For the demand she had she did a good job. We got a table for 4 and ordered some beers while we waited. The food actually came out pretty fast for this area, and considering how busy it was. And as people said it is pretty creative. Prices are kinda high but you get what you pay for. They supposedly use local ingredients when possible. It would be nice if they added a few more tables somewhere, and served some mixed drinks as well. They are also closed on Sunday and Monday so it is rough for me to only be able to visit on Saturday when they are the busiest.

Great casual place to dine! I had their chicken burrito, which was excellent and quite unique. Their tortilla chips are perfectly seasoned and their draft beers are AWESOME! I would come back here for sure. The ambience is amazing as well- rock on!

Oh man. Not your traditional burrito but hit the spot and very good quality. Great spot for quick eats and good beer selection. We came with a group of six and everyone left raving about their meal. Most of us got burritos but someone got a PoBoy and said it was amazing. Wish we had a place like this where I live.

In the section of ludlow that seems to constantly rotate lies a restaurant that in my opinion should instantly be there forever. It's MOJO! Southwest fusion, vt style! I dig it. Beer selection heavy metal food (vt steak, po boys, chimichanga special) Decor Keep it up gentlemen!

Really liked the Mojo Cafe. Decent prices, funky atmosphere, good food and nice people. They have a bunch of hot sauces to try with your food and they even make 1 or 2 of their own which were really pretty good too. I was only in the area for a couple of days and while I wouldn't normally eat Mexican food twice in two days time, I did think about suggesting to my wife that we return again before we left town. Didn't do it, but if I'm up in the area again I will definitely go back to Mojo Cafe.

Awesome place to eat. Great food and great service. Nice atmosphere. I have been coming to Ludlow for 10 years and never really noticed the place. We will return and enjoy again within the next few weeks.

Mojo never disappoints. They have great flavors and textures in all their food. We had the taco salad today and the Ghost jerk snapper tacos. Both were excellent. The taco salad is huge and relatively healthy with lots of lean chicken and slaw. The snapper tacos had just enough ghost pepper to add some real flavor without any of the real heat you can get from that one.

We got catfish tacos (my personal favorite) and Alligator Etouffe. The tacos were expertly prepared, but the Alligator was off the charts amazing. Served with their creole sauce, Voodoo Shrimp, and a roasted baguette, it had so many flavors to blow your mind. They have a great but small selection of beers on tap, and their decor is so fun and original. The staff provided friendly and quick service, and their bathrooms are neat! We were fortunate to visit on a slow night, because they don't have more than 6 tables, but they do have a long counter / bar with stools to sit at.

Awesome food and great atmosphere. This little hole in the wall isn't a fancy restaurant but the quality is amazing. Had great food and tasty beer and excellent, friendly service

Oh, wow. Just had lunch here, and it was really, really good. I am in (chicken) burrito-coma-heaven. I ate the whooole thing, which is unusual - I am byo-tupperware kind of diner :D Got a great pilsner on draft - most of the beers were pretty high %, so not good for a lunch... but really hoping to come back for dinner & sample the IPA selection! They got another beer delivery while we ate...tantalizing. Also eyeing up those desserts, looking forward to next time. Good for kids - 21 month old ate a lot of the chicken out of my burrito (she would've had it all but Auntie was hungry!!), high chairs available, staff very friendly & helpful. Vermont can do Mexican food! I was starting to worry.

Great little place! The rojo sauce is delicious. We both had what is called an enchilada but was what would be called a baked wet burrito in California. One was shrimp and the other pork, very generous servings. Good Yelp recommendation.

The attention to detail is amazing! The decor, atmosphere, and physical facility was perfect. The music, which was rock and perfectly matching their theme, was just at the right volume. The food was excellent. Our party ordered burritos- shrimp, steak, and chicken. Everyone enjoyed the flavors of the meat. The burritos have beans, rice, meat, and good slaw. There was just the right amount of hot sauce in the burritos. Also, the tortilla was wrapped nicely so I never got a bite of just tortilla. I would definitely get it again. We also ordered poblano rings as an appetizer. Those are very similar to onion rings, but I think they are so much better. I highly recommend those too. If you are at Okemo Resort, you should try this place out.

Absolutely YES A well organized, focused, and creative option. Quick service Fantastic food quality Very nice creativity Great vibe (music and ambiance) Absolutely would go bald again and again I had the Mahi Fish tacos and maybe the best I've had. Very casual and enjoyable for kids, a date, or just take out. Can't go wrong

What a great place. The burritos and the enchiladas are belly busters. All the ingredients are locally sourced and or humanely raised. The ramen soup is a warm treat on a cold day. They also serve beer and wine.

I scoped out places to eat on our ski trip to Ludlow, VT. I saw that Mojo had great ratings and one reviewer in particular said she'd punch a baby for their poblano rings. She was so right. Not only would I punch a baby for the poblano rings, I'd trip a toddler for the voodoo shrimp Po boy. I was also in IPA heaven over their beer selection. But more than just the food, I was enthralled with the whole vibe of this restaurant. It was casual, friendly, and funky. While the food had an ethnic flavor, the atmosphere was so American that it made me smile. From the great rockabilly music playing to the Jim Morrison mural to the Christmas Story lamp in the window. The staff was super friendly and I can't help but wish them much success. I only wish I had more opportunities to eat there. So much great stuff on their menu, so little time!

It looked really really good. Great menu lots of good options, but there is no seating. You just order your food and hope to find a seat. I would recommend for take out, but after a long day skiing, you are looking for good food and good beer AND a place to sit relax and socialize with family and friends. This place has 2 out of 3. We ended up walking to Pot Belly. Where the food is not nearly as good, but plenty of seats and decent beer (Switchback Ale) on tap.

Super friendly fun place for the family or just for drafts. The food is unbelievable and the staff is extremely accommodating. Entertainment and location push Mojo's over the top. A MUST try if you are heading to the mountain or just in town.

Good tex-mex food. They had a lot of interesting combinations of sauces and salsas that turned out to be great, if a little overwhelming. The portions looked like they would be too small but they were actually quite big!

Can't say enough great things about this place....we've been here four times this season, and each time the food was perfection. We've had a variety of tacos, all of which are filled to the brim with protein. The burrito with lobster was unreal, and the tortilla chips are made in-house. Mac and cheese is also a favorite. The owners are the consummate professionals, and are really good, nice people. Every time we go in, we have a super pleasant experience and great food.

Walk up and order mexican with a variety of flavors. Tacos and po-boy sandwiches were way above average. Downsides: water cooler wasn't fresh and they left cilantro on when we asked them to hold it. Very tasty anyway after fixed.

I would literally punch a baby for their poblano rings! Perfect amount of lightly crispy tempura batter, with delicious ranch on the side. Also had the steak po'boy with the most delicious cheddar sauce on it--perfect combined with the tender steak and smoky andouille sausage! Love the atmosphere, love the food, and the owners are friendly and really care about their food and clientele. Can't wait to come back!

The vibe in Mojo is really nice and definitely appealed to the inner hipster in me. Lots of graffiti-type artwork and quirky drawings, interesting paraphernalia, craft beer, and classic American music while still maintaining a sense of authentic Mexican cuisine. On top of that, the food was really good and I'll go into a bit more detail about what we ordered. For appetizers, our group ordered Three Skulls (chips with salsa, guacamole, and queso) and poblano rings (chopped peppers dipped in batter and deep fried). The Three Skulls was your average chips 'n' dips, but the dips were served in skull-shaped dishes, which was a really nice touch. The poblano rings were incredible - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a tangy ranch dipping sauce. I'd echo some of the previous reviews and highly recommend ordering some of these. Our group was intrigued by the idea of lobster in Mexican food, so we ordered some lobster burritos, a lobster quesadilla, and lobster tacos. My family really enjoyed their tacos and quesadilla, and the lobster burrito I ordered was amazing. The tempura on the lobster was a bit much, but I'd still consider it the best burrito I've eaten. Order some extra ranch sauce on the side - it goes perfectly with the entrees! For dessert, we tried the chocolate cake with raspberry-jalapeno sauce and fried ice cream with lime sauce. The chocolate cake wasn't my cup of tea, but my brother seemed to enjoy it. I really enjoyed the fried ice cream and would highly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of citrus. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience and are definitely coming back next year.

Been here twice since their opening and have to commend them on their entrance into ludlow. It's not easy to start a new restaurant in a small town, but they have pulled it off well. I'd recommend the pork enchiladas, Mac & cheese with andouille sausage and the steak po boy. Also, their Gumbos change daily but if you have the opportunity to get the wild beer shrimp gumbo, don't think twice!! All in all, I'm very happy Mojo decided to open in ludlow.

This place rocks! Honestly, if anyone doesn't try this place out when you're in the area, you should question your existence. Very cool atmosphere...casual, laid back, friendly. Food.....outstanding. Fried poblanos were awesome. ..steak po boy and pork quesidilla. ..delicious. A few beers on tap...others bottled and wines. You order at the counter, go plant your butt down in a seat and look at the cool surroundings until your food comes. The mural I downloaded here went on my FB and Instagram I thought it was so cool. Yeah give this place a shot. Well worth it!

Mojo Cafe certainly delivered! Everything was fresh and delicious. The staff was helpful and friendly. I had the catfish tacos which were so big they fell apart by the last bite. All of the portions are large even the kids meals. Both my boys loved the kids chicken tacos and chicken burrito. The chicken is shredded and melts in your mouth. My husband had the chicken & mole tacos and the mole was full of flavor. We are definitely going back before our vacation week is up. If you are skiing at Okemo or even in a 30 mile radius, you must go to MOJO! My next choice will be the Shrimp Po'boy which the chef on our way out said is "the cadillac on the menu." I can't wait!

We came here two times in a 24 hour period - it was so good. My husband said the Lobster Burrito was one of the best things he has ever had - and I came to sustain an addiction to the Pablano Rings. I would detour 50 miles out of the way to come back here next time I am in Vermont. so good.

The decor and wide view into the slightly messy kitchen are not an immediate draw, but don't let that scare you away (it almost did for us). The food was very good and very reasonably priced. The taco salad with cabbage slaw was creative and delicious. Only thing we weren't crazy about was slightly browned guacamole. Beef burrito was excellent as was lamb gumbo. The bread pudding dessert was excellent. On the cons side, the place was quite empty but they staff didn't bus the tables, which would have been nice given that we had given a full tip at the register.

Mojo is a great place for a fairly quick lunch or dinner. They have a varied menu which I find a bit expensive, but I don't mind paying a bit more knowing they serve fresh, local ingredients. The only downside is that seating is hard to come by especially with a larger group and it's always very very cold inside.

Such a great little spot!! Funky, casual, and most importantly...pretty awesome food. I had the lobster quesadilla which was pretty good but the real star was the alligator poh boy that I had to steal bites of from my boyfriend. AMAZING. Absolutely delicious. Homemade chips too, and a bunch of local beers on tap. Definitely a place worth stopping for, we will be back!!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
