This is everything you want from a cheap eatery. They provide wholesome food from a friendly staff. From pizza to sandwiches to ice cream and coffee, they've got it all. I was very impressed with their chicken pesto sandwich on a freshly baked French baguette. The pizza had great flavor, and was spiced and baked correctly.

Was good a good place, but breakfast sandwiches where only options in the am. Coffee was spectacular.

Great place for good breakfast sandwiches and coffee before we snowboard. Love their crossaints sandwiches. Their bakery is good as well.

Perfect place for great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Well priced, plenty of parking and seats. Fast courteous service and a fabulous breakfast. They have wifi as well which makes it a must stop.

I have to say that for a place at the bottom of the mountain where one would think you don't necessarily have to be good to stick around if you have the right location, this place was a welcome surprise. The southwest steak wrap was delicious, juicy and well seasoned. The coconut hazelnut coffee was particularly good and I had to go back for seconds. Try it, you'll like it Mikey. Lol

We've been here a couple of times over just one weekend. Personable staff, good service. Sandwiches are quite good, and a decent value. Specials like the quiche were excellent. The ice cream - yes!! "Deep Sea Treasure" is highly recommended.

Conveniently located in the strip plaza directly opposite the entry road to Okemo, this somewhat dimly lit, haphazard space does offer a reasonable selection of breakfast and lunch items for before or after the slopes. The breakfast sandwiches are freshly made to order, better than a lot of the ski area grab and go foil wrapped soggy varieties that are so common. Coffee is decent and prices reasonable.

A longtime favorite, Java Baba's delivers good wraps and a mean cinnamon role. The gazpacho soup remains quite good as well. It's not fancy but its solid, reliable and a good place in town for a cup of Joe.

Got a make your own turkey sandwich. Bread choices were just sliced bread or a French roll, got the French roll because the price was pretty high and I couldn't justify spending $9 on a regular bread sandwich. Had turkey, lettuce, tomato, pesto mayo and cheese. Turkey was dry as a bone and old tasting. Construction of the sandwich was horrific- had to take it all apart and rebuild just to get in my mouth. Got maybe 5 ruffled chips with my sandwich, my neighbor had a huge mound. Over not impressed. Will not go back.

A local favorite, went here twice this past weekend, truly an Okemo Mtn staple. After a full day on the slopes and a much needed post slopes glass of wine in the hot tubs I was looking like I was going to be asleep by the early bird special hour of 7 pm. Cue Java Baba's Macchiato to the rescue. Located at the base of the mountain right at the main turn to the Okemo resort it is uber convenient to get to and next to two very great snowboard and ski rental shops, read this as a morning one stop shop. Post Java I was back up and running in no time for dinner and even hung in there for some 2 am sledding. The following day we came to Java Baba's for lunch at the recommendation of the guy at the Nordic Center. He said the soup and 1/2 sandwich** could not be missed and he was correct. Small bowl of tomato basil with parm and a hammy whammy (get it baba's style with the onions!) was pretty much heaven sent after getting my physical fitness on all morning long. In true green Vermont fashion they have tons of recycling options and yes they even have soy milk, horray. The staff is super nice, free wifi and local art on the walls. This place has everything a big group of people could ever want. Healthy route, soups, sandwiches or pizza. Tons and tons of specialty drinks in the cold fridge, local baked goods, teas, and even home made ice cream. **Note - everything is bigger in VT. ** A HALF sandwich looks like a regular sandwich, cut in half and you get both halves. I saw a FULL sandwich and it looks like what a lumberjack's wife might pack him before he sets out into the woods for a solid 8 hour shift... This made me smile.

I've been here twice and never again! The counter help is miserable. Mostly teen and 20 something girls with terrible attitudes. Save yourself a slow painful experience and stay away!

My new favorite coffee shop and bakery! The friendliest staff ever! Great baked goods and tremendous coffee! All the locals (construction, law enforcement, etc.) come here and for good reason. Everything is excellent~! We only got here twice but I'll get here every day when I'm in Ludlow and soon enough they'll have 5 stars from me. I'm sure they are going to be around for a long time!

Spend three nights in Ludlow and on the last day when we were preparing to leave I asked the Innkeeper at the Andrie Rose B & B where was a good place to pick up sandwiches or the drive home. Without a moments hesitation he directed us to Java Bubas. We picked up great sandwiches and coleslaw for the trip back to NY. They were amazing. I especially enjoyed the VT turkey with stuffing and cranberry sauce to which I added red onion and a slice of swiss cheese. Tom enjoyed the Italian combo. Made the drivve home tasty. Next trip we'll get to Bubas much earlier.

Excellent lattes Great sandwiches: try the Hot Ham Wammy - Bob's Way; or fried egg on a grilled roll with bacon and cheese among many others The soups are always good And someone who loves desert makes these things: they are all Good The young people who take your order (and deliver it to your table!) are universally very personable and welcoming. If you go, you'll like it.

10 p.m. on a Saturday night and not a pizza place open in sight or that wasn't charging a $5 cover to wait an hour for it! (see Outback pizza review). Just when we were about to give up hope, we see the flashing "pizza" sign outside Java Baba's. One would think this would be a coffee house serving microwavable pizzas or something and pass it by but at this point we were desperate and pleasantly surprised. Java Baba's has a huge menu of food items to choose from- Pizzas, hot and cold sandwhiches, homemade cookies and other desserts, I was shocked upon entering this large randomly decorated cofee house space. Even though they were slated to close at 10, the staff at Java stayed opened to accomodate the hungry concert goers and I am so glad they did! Although we had to wait almost 45 min for our food and it may not have been the best pizza or calzone I've had, It hit the spot and was clutch when we had just about lost hope on a town with no wawa's in to go to ( to their credit though, their gas stations carry booze!) The staff was super friendly and accomodating. I would be happy to return to Java's if and when I make my return to Ludlow!

Not too familiar with Okemo and am in town for two days of skiing. Found what I was looking for at Java's, which is located DIRECTLY across the Okemo Mountain pass way. Java's has great made to order sandwiches (to-go too), pizza, breakfast sandwiches, soups and a range of hot drinks from Hot Coco, Chai Flavored Tea to a variety of coffees as well. There is about 30 seats at 8 tables so you can eat in if a seat is free; however, I was looking to take-out. That said, the lunch line is long (8 mins approx?!) and the wait time for food was about 15 minutes for 5 sandwiches (zero sandwiches were "hot"). So, HAD I KNOWN their menu and/or what they served I would've called a head and placed an order for pick-up. To "Yelp" check their menus here: javababas.com

Three stars is pretty generous. Meh coffee, meh breakfast sandwich. Went here a couple times but didn't have the pizza (I just don't get the thought process behind a coffee shop slash pizza place). I guess the 3 stars comes from the fact that it's an a-ok place to sit and have a meh cup of coffee and a meh breakfast sandwich at the base of Okemo.

Sand which menu is extensive, location is great, right off mountain, price is also just right. The service is a little slow but friendly. The pizza is good and is almost like the old "wicked pizza" which is closed. Apparently the owner and the oven made their way there, so the pizza is pretty good, NY style and tasty. The coffee drinks are very good as well. highly recommend coming here after a long day of skiing for a nice hefty lunch that won't break your wallet.

Loved this place. We stayed a friends house nearby. Since I was the only decaf drinker I ventured out to get my own coffee. As I stood waiting to pay for my coffee I noticed all the goodies for sale on the counter and in the case. This led to my daily trip for coffee and a treat. By the third day I walked into the house and was told "Where's the cake...if you didn't get something just turn around and go back!!"

Went here twice the weekend of the spartan beast race. First time I got a sandwich, tasted horrible. next night went there and got a pizza. it was huge which was good, but the lady admitted she was new to cooking pizzas. the pizza came out horrible, all the cheese slid right off, it was like soup. the crust was undercooked. and it took 40 minutes to serve it to us...but the sign does say something about slow cooked food.... I wouldn't go here again unless it was to try their pastries.

Love this place. My staple coffee shop when I'm in ludlow. They usually have a coconut hazelnut by green mountain coffee which is delish. I've been going here for coffee when in the area for years, but ate lunch here the first time over the weekend and was not disappointed. Got the eggplant wrap. The sandwiches and pretty big but they offer a 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup deal which is the way to go.

Reasonable prices. Stopped in at noon on a Sunday. There was one type of coffee ready at the self service bar. Had to wait for regular coffee. Had a berry muffin which was good. Staff seemed young and easily confused, but it was fine overall.

Baba's is essentially a large deli with a super-hip sandwich menu. The Eggplant Woozie and Ruben are both heavy but tasty. Their homemade fruit salad serves as a nice balance to an otherwise greasy plate. Locate at the entrance to Okemo Mountain, this place doesn't shy away from taking advantage of the ski crowd - even in the summer. Everything is just a little too expensive. Even the internet usage fee seems exorbitant at $2 per 1/2 hour. All in all, "A-OK."

like the local community feel. more interesting than a chain coffee shop or generic deli. stopped in for a late night tea. good tea selection; more than your average green, earl grey, etc. i had scottish caramel toffee pu-erh. staff was nice and helpful. coffee and food selection looks good, want to come back for breakfast,

Fantastic spot to hit for espresso based drinks. The mocha peppermint is fantastic! Wish we would've tried some food.

This place is very "granola" in that Vermont / Maine way - you get the feeling everyone behind the counter is wearing Birkenstocks and wool socks. It is much more than a coffee shop, despite the name. Really a sandwich / breakfast shop with coffee. The food has a decidedly home made feel, with the type of sandwiches typical for a sandwich place near a private New England college. Breads are quite fresh, and the soups good. The decoration is a bit eclectic / grandma's attic, but clean and open. There is sometimes a bit of a clash of cultures when some of the most pampered Okemo skiers stop by -- New-England-self-suffiecient-crunchy-relaxed-not-sure-who-is-next-in-line-or-what-the-big-rush-is versus pampered-expect-everything-perfect-right-away-yuppy doesn't always mix well. It is a great place to relax and have some good home-made-tasting food before you jump back into your jeep or subaru or minivan or pick-up and head up to the slopes or to kayak or fish. Not so good if you are expecting a "barrista" and need to get the kids back in the Lexus right away. Sometimes people find the Java Baba's approach to eating in confusing: If you plan to eat in, you order at the counter, then take a seat and they bring you the food. (They encourage you to bus your own table.) So, skip the franchises and stop for some home-made local flavor.

We stopped by for coffee on our way through Ludlow. The iced coffee was delicious and the chocolate chai was heavenly. The service was very friendly and everything was very clean. The menu of sandwiches and wraps looked so good I almost ordered something, despite having recently eaten a large lunch. I am tempted to plan my next trip so that I am driving by at lunch time. Definitely a good option for a quick pit stop while traveling 103. I will keep it in mind.

Don't spend your days off the slopes here. Not very friendly or helpful. Just can't be bothered. Plus pretty high charges for wireless! Have not tried food yet, hopefully will make up for the lousy service!

Nice local place with a lot of interior flavor. The food, treats and cafe beverages are great for the entire family. Friendly folks and Internet access (for a small but reasonable fee, free would have given it 5 stars) tie it all together for a good review. If I ever travel through Ludlow again, it is a must stop spot!!

Been to this place a few times, mainly because of its location right off the access road. The staff behind the counter acts miserable/annoyed and is always so RUDE, especially the woman with the long brown/black hair. I have never appreciated the attitude from this place and have never seen anyone smile; never, ever! The food is marginal and it takes a very long time to come out. If you only have 15-20 minutes to grab a sandwich, this is not your place. After another rude stint this past weekend, I am not likely to return. When I am away for the weekend, the last thing I am looking for is verbal abuse and attitude.

Java Baba has the best chilli I ever ate and I am a very picky person. I can't wait to go back to Okemo. I met chef Bob on the last day and I told him not to change a thing - I would love to get his recipe. Java Baba's chilli is one of the things that make me wanna go back to Okemo.

When I need a fast sandwich or a great cup of coffee, this is my first choice. Not much in the way of ambiance, but great sandwiches and sides. Fast service. I've even eaten in a few times and they bring your order right to the table.
