Went here twice over the Labor Day weekend. My family and u were camping with friends in Plymouth. Pizza was great. True thin crust perfectly prepared with some of the freshest toppings. The sauce was nothing short of superb. Owners were great and made us feel at home The decorations were unique and very cool

Wonderful pizza, lovely staff, and fun location. The pizza is excellent. Very thin crust charred perfectly in a wood fire oven. Homemade sauce is terrific. Has a slight kick. Love this place.

Personally, I really like their pizza. It's a thin, wood fired pizza, but well done. I like the Diablo Pizza which is buffalo chicken. I have also had their veggie which I really like. A little on the expensive side for the size of the pizza, but in a small town with 4 pizza places, it is the top of the heap. They have a few different sauces and I have liked all that I have tried. I would like a little more spice in the red sauce, but it is still very good. If you are expecting a classic, NY Pizza, this isn't it. If you like a thin, wood fired pie, you should walk away happy.

Really good pizza. My wife and I shared a small veggie and it was fresh, tasty, and cooked just right. The staff is very nice and the place is nicely designed. The bathroom and floors could use a little attention, but nothing bad. The counter area was spotless.

We stumbled into this place after wanting something low key for dinner. We got a half and half pizza.. vegetarian on one side and BBQ chicken on the other. My husband finished his entire side before even leaving, it was that good!

I have been 2 x in the last year and both times had excellent wood fired pizza. The first time was Sept. 2014 just before traveling to Naples Italy the pizza's birthplace. We told the owner that we loved the pie but we're going to compare it with Naples and do a comparison. Well this place won easily. I would recommend this wood fired pizza to anyone and will definitely return. Cool decorations include a motorcycle and Rat Fink signs from the 60's if you remember that. Love it

I was on my way back to the city and was famished after a day of shredding at Killington. I saw a sign for wood fired pizza and pulled right in. The place has that relaxed, ski town vibe to it. The front counter is a modified VW bus. The first good sign was that they were open, the next good sign was that they served slices as I did not want to wait for a whole pizza and I did not want to eat a whole pizza. I ordered 2 slices of cheese. The pizza was cooked in a wood fired oven so it is a bit crispy on the bottom. My slices were a little burnt, but that was no big deal. The slice was tasty, maybe a little short on sauce, but I liked the cheese a lot. Definitely check this place out if you are in town and on the prowl for pizza.

Nice atmosphere, though not a lot of seating. The design of the place is nice, with music, a vintage motorcycle and large gas station signs. Pizza was slow side to come out and very heavy on the cheese. The pizza sauce was good. The calzone was burnt, had too much ricotta cheese and came with cold pizza sauce. Bring quarters, there is an arcade upstairs. I can't believe my wife beat me at Ms. Pac Man!

Service is always fast and friendly. Domenica is a great addition behind the counter! First off you can order from a vintage VW BUS! So cool! They've been in business for years but this their new location. I have to say the place looks awesome! Pool table l, vintage arcade games, old ski chairlifts for tables?!!! Now for the most important part: the pizza is out of this world! Wood fired using fresh ingredients many local and organic! The signature "rip curl" is soooo good! The best thing they added to their killer new location was serving wine and beer! So now they've got some of the best local Vermont beers on draft including switchback ale! But if you just want a cheap draft they've got PBR for $3!!! What else can I say about a locally owned family business that is cool and unique as Goodman's American Pie? The owners are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Do yourself a favor and make Goodman's American Pie your next stop for lunch or diner.

Kinda good pizza and they have good intentions, but they just don't know how to run a restaurant. One poor girl rolling dough while two other watch. A second girl then puts sauce and cheese on and passes to a third. The third puts it into the oven (4 pie max) and watches it cook!!!!! You can't make this up. They could EASILY double their output with less labor and cut the wait time in half. Did I mention good pizza!

Yo, coolest pizza joint ever. Front counter is made from an old VW bus. Surf board above the pool table. Grape Fanta in old school glass bottles. Tables with lift chairs for seats. You can't go wrong with Goodman's American Pie. Oh, and the pizza is mad good too.

Wish I could write about the food! Called to order a pizza on a slow Friday night around 7:30pm, and was told "sorry, were sold out" WTF? They close at nine and thrive only planned to make pizza - at a pizza joint - until 7:30!! I won't even try tomorrow, on a Sat urday night, they may run out by 5:00.

Went to Goodmans for the first time and left unimpressed. The pizza is just not very good. We ordered two pies - a plain cheese and the riptide. While the tomato sauce was good, the crust was a mix of sloppy and soft and burned. It was so mushy and undercooked that it was hard to eat - and the mushy mixed with burnt was a weird combo. The chicken reminded me of frozen Perdue style stuff - not wood fired as advertised. The pizza was cooked extremely fast but service was indifferent. You order all food and drinks at the counter which is annoying with drinks if you eat in. Given poor service and very limited seating, best to take out the pizza.

Went here after a long day of skiing based on a friends recommendation. She has family Up here and comes regularly when visiting. Our experience: We can in and ordered at the counter. We had a small pie and sodas. The pie was well cooked and the crust had a nice crunch. Ingredients were very fresh and tasty. Only down side is limited soda choices since it Is all bottled in a small fridge. But regardless the pie was great and we would definitely Go back next time we are here.

This rivals some of the best wood fired pizza I've had in Boston (not that Boston is the paradigm of pizza, but we do have the North End!). A few things make this a find. First, there's zero pretense--the 11 year old son of the owners served our pies, they only use paper plates and plastic cups. I'm not always a fan of that kind of low tech, but it works here. It lets the pizza do the heavy lifting of making a strong impression, which it does in spades. The pizza is delish. I had pepperoni and they deliver it piping hot with the cheese melting off the sides so that I could barely get it off the pan and on to my " paper plate. LOVE IT. It really ties the place together. With the cornerstone of fantastic pizza, every part of this place comes off with charm from the ski lift chairs to the upside down paddle board light fixture hanging over the bar. If you're looking for excellent pizza and an easy going family friendly experience, I recommend it highly.

We are from Long Island where there is five pizza places in each town, each just as good as the last. The pizza here is just as good if not better than any one of those places, we could taste the quality of the of fresh ingredients. The staff was also very welcoming and well mannered.

  • Nicole P.

Such a great family experience! Never thought getting some pizza with the family would be so much fun. Staff was very busy (NYE weekend), but very nice to all of us. They have the coolest chair lift booth seating, an arcade upstairs and a pool table downstairs. Wine and beer is served. Their pizza is delicious! A genuine good time with good food and drink. We will definitely make sure we stop in again.

I am not from around here, but was in Ludlow for vacation. I called in a pizza and was told it would take between 20 and 25 minutes to bake. After arriving 20 minutes later, the two teenage guys were fooling around and informed me they were just making my pizza then. Ten minutes later I was informed it was ready. When I got back to my hotel room and opened the pizza, the pizza was not cut into slices. The outer edges of the pizza were incredibly burnt (completely black on the bottom) and the center of the pizza was completely raw dough. We ended up having to throw away the entire pizza. The one good thing was after calling to complain about the pizza, they refunded my credit card. I have never had such an awful pizza in my life. I would not recommend this sad excuse for a pizza place to anyone in Ludlow. Go somewhere else!

The vegetarian pizza was super delish and had a nice crust. We took our pizza to go and enjoyed a drink on the patio while we waited. Not only did we devour our pizza, when I accidently left my purse behind, the owner had made every effort to reach me. I really appreciate the effort he put forward and was relieved to retrieve my purse all intact. This gem of a pizza place has a really great vibe and next time we're passing through, we'll definitely go back!

On a ski trip to Vermont this weekend, it was raining so instead of going out to dinner we decided to order in. We decided to give Goodman's a try, which was a really good call because apparently most of the other pizza shops in town close early. Since they don't deliver, we placed our order over the phone and went to pick it up. The location is great, it's fairly close to most of the shops and near the mountain, very spacious, with a pool table and these really cool tables to sit in where the chairs are like patio chairs. They have a wood fire oven which is pretty cool. And they make the pies and calzones right in front of you. The people working there are super sweet and very friendly. We ordered a couple of pies and some calzones. Everything was delicious. All the ingredients were fresh, you could just taste the difference! The tomatoes on the pizza and the spinach in our calzones were very fresh. I will definitely make it a point to return to this pizzeria on our next trip to Ludlow.

Great pizza but very quirky place. There is no seating or table service. You order at the counter and hope a table is available when you get the pizza. The pizzas were very good and the beers were priced right and ice cold. The kids were kept amused while waiting for a table. It is extremely disorganized and the laid back attitude may not please all. We did find a table in the end, very small seating area. the pizzas were great and worth the hassle. If you go in knowing this you will enjoy your meal much better so be prepared to wait, grab a beer and let kids play the games they have there.

We went for a quick bite on a saturday night with hungry kids and was originally told about 30 minutes for our pies. We decided to wait and just a few minutes later they told us that our plain pie would be out in ten minutes. The staff was very nice, the place looked clean and they have a few beers on tap. There is a pool table if you want to pass the time. The pizza was ok, not great, but could have been much worse. Overall not too bad if you are in the mood for pizza.

It's a slow March day in Ludlow but it took 56 minutes to get a cheese pizza and a calzone. The calzone was served with cold marinara that they say they have no way of warming up.

Found Goodman's on yelp and decided to give it a try after a cold ski day. They have about 5 tables and a pool table inside. We didn't have any problems finding a seat as there were only a couple of people there. We ordered at the counter - the large Arctic Cluck pizza. They brought the pizza out to the table. It was delicious. Crispy crust, delicious cheese. A definite A+. I will definitely visit again on my next ski trip!

American Pie is the BEST pizza spot in VT. Many folks have adapted the wood-fired genre of pizza, but the Goodman's have been doing it for a long time and in my opinion, the best. Craig and Jess the owners are a couple of hard-working and fun-loving people, that also raise money and awareness for causes they believe in. They make everything in-house. Support local and eat great pizza!

Been going to Goodman's American Pie for many years when we visit Ludlow. Generally we get a few pies to go. Well, they have now moved to a new, more spacious location which affords s great atmosphere to sit and eat pizza. Today, we split 2 pies and WoW what a treat. Good delicious pies, one topped with sweet, italian sausage, the other topped with chicken. Both were great. They also now serve tap beer and a small but nice selections of wine.
