We have eaten here 5 or 6 time and have never been disappointed. The burrito, tacos and Po boys are our favorites. Don't miss the guacamole, it's fresh and flavorful. All fresh ingredients, watch the guys make your dish. Wine and beer are top quality. Love the atmosphere.
So some places do worse with time. Fortunately some get even better. Mojo has found its mojo. We stopped by recently again and I'm in love with this place! Great vibe, cool decor, friendly service. And awesome food. Mexican and Cajun with whatever else they love. Had the gumbo. And I haven't enjoyed a bowl of it so much since my days in New Orleans! And then an ahi tuna poke taco dish that was a perfect fusion dish. Throw in a few fresh jalapeños on it and loved this. With a little rice and seaweed salad too. Heaven. Dining companion got the shrimp and grits and could've licked the plate. They have kids options too. Overall just a great place in town. Hurrah!
The chicken po' boy is outstanding and don't miss the poblano rings. All of the ingredients are fresh and local except the shrimp he orders special. I've had 2 different Gumbos. I thought the Vegan Gumbo was good until I had the Jerk Chicken. The Andouille sausage over powered the chicken a bit, but the flavor was amazing. One of the owners is the chef and has an assistant and both pay attention to every details as they fresh prepare each meal. My wife had the chicken burrito which was big for the price, well spiced, and excellent. The customer service is great and you can always find the owners chatting with a customer about food or music or the topic of the day. Also, the rotating selection of craft beers that are hard to find like Lost Nation and Zero Gravity. Local VT microbrews. Enjoy!

The previous review couldn't be more wrong. I've been to the Echo Lake Inn four times, one of which was for my wedding weekend. The Inn is comfortable and welcoming, the staff is incredibly friendly and willing to go out of their way to make you happy, the location is perfect any time of the year, and the food is phenomenal. The Echo Lake Inn is a great place to get away and relax. Go skiing in the winter or canoeing or hiking in the summer and fall - this is a wonderful place any time of the year. You won't miss the TV. This is a quaint Vermont bed and breakfast - if that's what you're looking for, this is the place for you.
Great Inn (built in the 1800s from what I overheard), so expect the old building experience. The service and food were very good. My only thing was that my room seemed to have no heat, even though I turned up the thermostat. I'd stay here again, given the chance.
NO NO NO NO. Do not go here. I paid $185 dollars a night (the discounted rate, too!) for an old room with stained sheets. No amenities at all--no TV, no hair dryer, couldn't even find me a towel after using the same one for two days. I realize this is VT, and leaf peeping season, so maybe all that fancy stuff shouldn't be expected...nevertheless, I am convinced you could do better else where.

The owners are lovely and easy to work with. Michael always calls you back and is very responsive. Irene is warm and very caring. Rooms are super clean even from a critical person like me. Decorations are cute with nice sense as American country style. Location cannot be better for skiing, which the village shuttle bus stops, unless you stay along the slope. Only what can be improved is breakfast. If Inn is for "bed and breakfast", more enjoyable breakfast is desired. Especially for skiers who have to tolerate bad food at the ski restaurants on the mountain for lunch, good delicious breakfast is must. But overall we had a pleasant stay!
The perfect romantic getaway or indulgent retreat! My perfectly appointed room had a nice big whirlpool tub and a steam shower. Book well in advance to get the room of your choice and to book dinner reservations if you stay on the weekend. (Dinner is phenomenal! Be sure not to pass it up!) Plus an early booking affords the option to book a massage from a local massage therapist as well. The owners were incredibly gracious. I couldn't find one little thing that didn't meet or exceed my expectations. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
Probably the best food in the area. Attention to detail and beautiful dining area make this an exceptional dining experience.

Went here twice over the Labor Day weekend. My family and u were camping with friends in Plymouth. Pizza was great. True thin crust perfectly prepared with some of the freshest toppings. The sauce was nothing short of superb. Owners were great and made us feel at home The decorations were unique and very cool
Wonderful pizza, lovely staff, and fun location. The pizza is excellent. Very thin crust charred perfectly in a wood fire oven. Homemade sauce is terrific. Has a slight kick. Love this place.
Personally, I really like their pizza. It's a thin, wood fired pizza, but well done. I like the Diablo Pizza which is buffalo chicken. I have also had their veggie which I really like. A little on the expensive side for the size of the pizza, but in a small town with 4 pizza places, it is the top of the heap. They have a few different sauces and I have liked all that I have tried. I would like a little more spice in the red sauce, but it is still very good. If you are expecting a classic, NY Pizza, this isn't it. If you like a thin, wood fired pie, you should walk away happy.

Great people, service and food! We went on a Friday night to celebrate my son's birthday. They couldn't have been nicer - allowed us to bring in a few little decorations, used our birthday plates and napkins for dessert... Made it so special. Service couldn't have been better - Mary rocked everything and provided great advice. We had great wine at a good value. Food ranged from: oysters (so fresh) to prime rib, hangar, filet, and strip, with veggies on the side. Kids and adults loved the salad bar. Everything was cooked perfectly. Two years in a row having our son's birthday at Sam's...looking forward to next year.
We arrived and were immediately seated in the bar dining area. I probably would have preferred to have sat in the dining room but this was ok. Patty was our waitress and she was full of energy and knowledge. I had asked about prime rib vs hangar steak and her honest response won me over. She said that I could probably get a good prime rib at any Ludlow restaurant but the Prime Hangar was one of the best cuts available. It was fantastic. My son had the ribs and the meat was perfectly seasoned and just fell off the bone. We shared the seared tuna appetizer which was full of flavor and very nicely served. The salad bar, included with the meal, was full of fresh tasty items and the bleu cheese dressing was thick and chunky. Great place to have a filling tasty meal. I would like to be in the dining room next time as the only drawback was the dark lighting and noise level of the bar area. The dining room looked much more civilized.
We heard good things about Sam's from our hotel clerk so decided to try it for the first time on this trip over Labor Day. We wanted casual with kids menu and clerk said we'd be comfortable in shorts even though it looked like a fancy place. He was right. Was filled with families and couples dressed every which way on Sunday night so we fit right in. Salad bar caught our eye and was full of good looking veggies. Everything looked nice and our choices were fresh. Apps were oysters and shrimp cocktail. Both good but shrimp was enourmous! So big nest time we'll share one. Ordered filet mignon and my wife had baked lobster tail. The filet was amazingly tender and delicious and she raved about the sweetness of the lobster. Service was very friendly to us and our 5 year old which made for a very nice casual evening. We'll be back for skiing!

Far and away the best meal I have had in almost 10 years of coming to the area. We came in at almost 8pm on a Tuesday night, in the off-season with 9 people including 5 kids. We were a wait staff nightmare waiting to happen. We had to wait 15 minutes and they were full and already had 3 tables of 8-9 people seated, but 1 was finishing up. They kept apologizing saying they needed to wait for 1 table to leave to have enough room and had warned us when we got there. Once we say our waitress was EXCELLENT!!!! She wasn't bothered by the tired, hungry kids who we had kept from dinner for too long. Diane had a smile on her face the entire time and was more then helpful and accommodating. I had the Diablo burger which was cook to a nice medium-rare and very spicy. The jalapeno relish was not cut with pickles or anything so it had a lot of kick to it. The Parmesan truffle fries were good, but almost too much cheese on them. My wife had the BBQ chicken sandwich which was cooked well and she liked. Our friends had the fish tacos which they loved. They came in a crispy, fried shell rather than the typical soft, but they loved them. Others at the table had different burgers and everyone was more than happy. They rotate the Vermont beers on tap and had a nice selection. We had Fiddlehead IPA which is hard to find, but they had others like Magic Hat Single Chair Ale and Switchback. It is a bit pricey compared to the rest of town, but the food and the service made it well worth it and we will definitely be going back.
Arrived on a Sunday night after skiing. Daughter:Homemade kids Mac and three cheeses. Delicious and creamy! Son: angus burger with extra cheddar and Applewwood smoked bacon. It was the best cooked burger ever!!!!!!!! Dad: Darcy Burger. Nice and filling. Recommend. Good service, attentive, friendly staff. Mom: beet salad with lobster. Delectable!
Great place to take the family for dinner! We went early on a Saturday night in the summer. The service was great. I had the grilled salmon and it was delicious. My son enjoyed the short ribs and my husband really enjoyed his burger. There were many families there at the same time and the waitress and host managed then all wonderfully.

Went here twice the weekend of the spartan beast race. First time I got a sandwich, tasted horrible. next night went there and got a pizza. it was huge which was good, but the lady admitted she was new to cooking pizzas. the pizza came out horrible, all the cheese slid right off, it was like soup. the crust was undercooked. and it took 40 minutes to serve it to us...but the sign does say something about slow cooked food.... I wouldn't go here again unless it was to try their pastries.
Love this place. My staple coffee shop when I'm in ludlow. They usually have a coconut hazelnut by green mountain coffee which is delish. I've been going here for coffee when in the area for years, but ate lunch here the first time over the weekend and was not disappointed. Got the eggplant wrap. The sandwiches and pretty big but they offer a 1/2 sandwich and cup of soup deal which is the way to go.
10 p.m. on a Saturday night and not a pizza place open in sight or that wasn't charging a $5 cover to wait an hour for it! (see Outback pizza review). Just when we were about to give up hope, we see the flashing "pizza" sign outside Java Baba's. One would think this would be a coffee house serving microwavable pizzas or something and pass it by but at this point we were desperate and pleasantly surprised. Java Baba's has a huge menu of food items to choose from- Pizzas, hot and cold sandwhiches, homemade cookies and other desserts, I was shocked upon entering this large randomly decorated cofee house space. Even though they were slated to close at 10, the staff at Java stayed opened to accomodate the hungry concert goers and I am so glad they did! Although we had to wait almost 45 min for our food and it may not have been the best pizza or calzone I've had, It hit the spot and was clutch when we had just about lost hope on a town with no wawa's in to go to ( to their credit though, their gas stations carry booze!) The staff was super friendly and accomodating. I would be happy to return to Java's if and when I make my return to Ludlow!

This is everything you want from a cheap eatery. They provide wholesome food from a friendly staff. From pizza to sandwiches to ice cream and coffee, they've got it all. I was very impressed with their chicken pesto sandwich on a freshly baked French baguette. The pizza had great flavor, and was spiced and baked correctly.
Was good a good place, but breakfast sandwiches where only options in the am. Coffee was spectacular.
Great place for good breakfast sandwiches and coffee before we snowboard. Love their crossaints sandwiches. Their bakery is good as well.

best Guinness and best Boston strip steak ever. No doubt.
First and foremost we want to thank our ONE server for serving us at 10pm - apparently the kitchen closes at 10. But we had just come in from the Beast Spartan race in Killington. Unfortunately, I don't think the kitchen staff was all that thrilled that they had to cook. I had gotten 'fried' chicken tenders - since it was easier for them to fry than to grill. He ordered a BLT. While we waited for our food and drank our beer, I counted 15 more racers come into the bar, all of which were turned away because they weren't serving food anymore. While I thought this was a bad move from a business perspective - that is not why i gave this place 2 stars. My chicken tenders were super well done. Which I don't mind so much, but was curious as to how they got so 'well done' in such a short period of time. He had requested mashed potatoes with his BLT - when served they were gritty and cold. He didn't eat them and they ultimately took them off the bill. We do appreciate our server, she was pleasant and did not make us feel like a burden, however she was the only one who was that welcoming. Even the drunk guy sitting out in the parking lot swaying and smiling made us feel more welcomed.
It's a great place at the heart of downtown. Right crowd and it is in walking distance with the base lodge. Must visit bar in Ludlow. Service is awesome, If you find otherwise just shout out "Tyler". They are open yearlong and parking is never a problem, most of time.

This place would have gotten 5 stars if it had better parking. We wanted DD on our way home and this was the closest we could find to Killington! It was in a Mobil so we had to park in one of 3 parking spots by the pumps where some lady almost hit us because she was moving her car by the pump... ok lady... lol anyways, I can imagine this place if there were a coffee run. I mean, you'd expect more parking! But this place had a smaller selection of donuts, muffins and bagels compared to the regular DD because it was in a gas station, but it felt weird ordering food where cigarettes are kept behind the counter! Odd... but the donuts were good and the service was fast!
The parking lot is extremely tight which causes issues at this station due to the fact many stop here for their Dunkin fix. Since there is very little parking, a lot of people will block the gas pumps just to go inside and buy coffee, scratch tix, and anything else they may need. That leaves people wanting gas hanging out in the way of other patrons. Also people who do actually pull to the pumps to get gas will leave their cars while they too go in to buy coffee and donuts. There is almost always a log jam here. I avoid this place if I can, and to top it off the Dunkin coffee here is not up to par with other DD's I've been to over the years. My wife says, "What's with the 3 Munchkin minimum?" Yes, my wife buys just 1 Munchkin at DD.
If you really really need Dunkin Donuts, then its fine. The usual. But as a service place, you could do so much better. Slow checkout, unfriendly service. Terrible parking. With all the other local breakfast options here, this is one DD that I can do without.
