The food was really great. I had the fondue and the beef stroganoff. My husband had French onion soup and Pasta Swiss Inn. Everything was delicious and they have a great VT beers on tap. My wine was fine. And it's priced very reasonably. We got apps, drinks, entrees, desserts, and a kid's pasta for $100. The two reasons I'm giving it 4 stars: one, they have no kids' menu. Which I understand, but they advertise being kid-friendly on their website. And to be fair, they made her a plate of plain pasta...with no sides (I guess I should have ordered them. My fault). And two, they're understaffed. The wait staff was amazing and worked their butts off, but there were only two servers for a very large restaurant. We totally didn't mind waiting for stuff given the situation! I just wish they had more help.

We stopped by by Swiss Inn for dinner because it seemed different enough (not usual burghers and grill like most places in the area). Sure enough it was different: My brother and I both ordered meet dishes- veal and beef. Both were good. What I appreciated was the option of smaller portion- many places give you a lot of food (more expensive) which is too much to finish so you wind up wasting or taking to go, which isn't ideal if you're staying in hotel and not going home. Salad (Boston salad) was a disappointment for 8 bucks. Bread that came with the meal was actually very good, possibly the best thing of the meal. One annoying thing was that the owner or manager was very loud- he was sweet talking to his friends or people staying at the inn- but he was so loud I couldn't hear myself chew. But hey, at least I know all about his kids, what college they went to, how much he had to pay for college loans. Useful information, really. We didn't get to dessert but it looked pretty good. Also, they seem to specialize in all kinds of fondues, which we didn't try. But think it's a great break from regular food in the moose country. Bottom line, stop by for dinner if you want something different from burghers and fries. Otherwise, if you prefer comfort food, I'd say, skip it.

Just had dinner at the Swiss Inn, haven't been there in a while. It's like stepping into your grandmothers dinning room, with the wall paper dim lighting...comfy I decided on the three course pre fixe dinner $29.00 - appetizer, entree and dessert, House Pate, Geschnetzeltes - Veal a la Swiss and Chocolate Creme Brûlée respectively. The pate arrived. The portion was HUGE enough for four - should have known better having traveled through Switzerland and Austria. The pate was served with toast points, chopped tomato & onion & cornichons. The pate was ok, ate half of it and took the rest home needed to have room for the rest of the meal. The entree - Geschnetseltes arrived with rosti (shredded potato pancake) & broccoli, nice portion size. Veal was nice and tender, plenty of mushrooms in the cream sauce, nothing to complain about. Finally the dessert, big portion of chocolate creme brûlée - delish All in all a good meal. If you're looking for a nice home cooked comfort food with a twist without breaking the bank try the Swiss Inn, you will not be disappointed OH BTW on the entrees, you have the option of 1/2 portions which is nice. There is also a $6 entree sharing charge.

I stayed here for two nights to ski at Okemo and it was the best experience ever. The hotel has a FULL SIT-DOWN WITH MENU breakfast and you can order as much as you want. Of course, it is nice to finish all that you order! The blueberry pancakes were the best I've ever had. I had them and oatmeal both mornings and also had their great French toast and fruit juices. Upstairs, the room is warm and cozy, not extravagant by any means, but certainly not lacking in anything (hair dryers available as well). Shelves of books line the hallways and jigsaw puzzles and board games also appear on the shelves, all for guests to enjoy. It really made both the hotel-time and ski-time a great experience. Don't forget about the free WiFi.. The drive to Okemo isn't very long and on our way home, we passed by Bromley not far from the hotel as well. Will definitely return!

Ate at the restaurant of this small little inn/hotel The host (prob the owner), greeted our group with a hearty welcome. The place definitely seems family run. Food was pretty good. I had the fish with the spetzal. The portion size could be larger for the pricing. Not sure why other reviewers had an opposite opinion on the portion size. Did not try the fondue but the table next to us went that route. Looked OK, but again i would say the melting pot chain probably had better fondue (though i am no fondue aficionado). Probably would not be back since it wasn't very memorable. Though you are limited in local dinner options in this part of vermont.

The restaurant at the Swiss Inn offers excellent Swiss/German cuisine with a great view of the snow covered woods in back in the winter. The atmosphere and food are a perfect combination especially after skiing. The menu offers special dishes such as several types fondue and a nice raclette. There is a very tender weiner schnizel and the veal is also offered as geschnetzeltes, thin strips of veal in a cream and mushroom sauce. The portions are ample and the Swiss Inn lists smaller servings for all of its entrees. I regret that I had to leave after four dinners there because I didn't have time to work my way through all the special dishes that I don't see often in the U S. The restaurant does offer chicken, steak and fish standards that are well prepared and the tavern at the Swiss Inn offers sandwiches and lighter fare. If you are in Southern Vermont and wanted to have an excellent meal with very special dishes, it's worth the drive to the Swiss Inn.
