Our second trip to the Frog's Leap was by far one of the most memorable weekends of my life! Last Saturday at the summit of Mount Equinox, my boyfriend of 4 years asked me to be his wife! You may assume that that experience would have nothing to do with my stay at the Frog's Leap, but you would be mistaken. Unbeknownst to me, my fiance has been in communication with Kraig and Dorenna about this weekend for months. Not only was the establishment just as wonderful and inviting as the last time, but with Kraig's assistance and guidance, my then boyfriend managed to leave me speechless, which is no small feat. They assisted him in picking out which peak to climb that would have the most powerful views, which restaurant to have our engagement dinner, and he even set up an amazing charcuterie spread, equipped with chilled Champaigne waiting for us in the room after the hike. It was a magical weekend, and it couldnt have happened at a more lovely location. The Frog's Leap certainly went out of their way to ensure that everything went off without a hitch. We hope to spend our anniversaries there for many years to come! Thank you both so much! Dan and Katherine

A rating of five stars, in some circles, represents the poshest of the posh, the fanciest of the fancy. That's not what my rating represents. Instead, it denotes a high expectation regarding an experience that was not only met, but exceeded. Having spent the first two days of our vacation in an upscale Burlington B&B, we were looking forward to a more casual, laid-back stay at Frog's Leap Inn, which is about a mile or so from Londonderry, the nearest town. On arrival, we were immediately greeted by Kraig Hart, proprietor of Frog's Leap, as well as his two dogs, Charlie and Angel (real names!). Affable, funny, and thoughtful, Kraig quickly asked us what time we wanted breakfast (late morning, please!) and offered to leave a thermos of coffee and a cup of cream outside our door early the next morning. And the breakfasts were uniformly spectacular--Swedish pancakes were featured one day, followed by a variety of french toast preparations the next two (along with eggs and some fantastic fresh fruit). Breakfast was easily our largest meal of the day each day of our stay, and by design. Each morning, Kraig asked us our plans, gently guiding us to points of interest but also allowing us ample opportunity to explore the state on our own. The Frog's Leap property is lovely--a sprawling mix of forest, informal gardens, and resort (including a pool and a basketball court; we didn't swim, but shooting hoops was a great way to wind down before sunset). The rooms, though not "fancy," are clean, attractive, and comfortable; in addition to the bedroom and bathroom, our suite contained a separate sitting/reading room, and the main building also had a cozy den. Would we return? Absolutely. I can't wait.

Frog's Leap Inn is Kraig Hart - plain and simple. There may be slightly nicer accommodations in the southern Vermont area, but you would be foolish to bypass Frog's Leap. Kraig is the perfect host and is obviously doing exactly what he was meant to do is this life -- entertain his guests as family members. He's engaging, down-to-earth and flat out makes the BEST breakfasts my wife and I have ever enjoyed. Sleep in? Who wants to do that when you're eager to see what Kraig has concocted for his guests each morning! My wife is an amazing cook, but even she came away excited about trying Kraig's recipes back home in Texas. Do yourself a favor ... make a new friend for life by letting Kraig take care of you while in the Londonderry area. You'll be sad to leave!

Frog's Leap Inn gets five stars as an overall experience: Clean and comfortable accommodations, lovely pool, reasonable rates, and truly FANTASTIC breakfast as cooked by the owner, Kraig. He honors the concept of hospitality to its core and will forever have my business any time I'm in this area of Vermont.

Awesome, just awesome. The price was a great value, the front of the house was extremely friendly and helpful. He knew all the restaurants in the area, and recommended several different types. We ate at one of his recommendations and they were awesome as well! (A perfect wife). We hope to come back.

The Harts are lovely, unpretentious and so accommodating. It's not the Ritz but who needs that when you're dropping hundreds on lift tix. If you like a tidy, reasonable spot with wonderful hosts, look no further. Now the hidden secret... We must echo the review about the breakfast by a factor of 2. Not only are the innkeepers very accommodating and genial. Web had no idea what lay in store for us at breakfast. When Kraig showed us to our room he mentioned a buffet breakfast. Usually when we've heard that we are prepared for lackluster assortment of the usual suspects: hard, hours-old scrambled eggs, cold toast... you know the drill. Well prepare yourself to be bowled over. Dorenna is a CIA-trained chef and it shows. Ask her nicely and MAYBE she'll knock your socks off with genuine (NOT the IHOP variety) Swedish plett, small fluffy crispy little gems sort of a cross between a silver dollar pancake and a cloud! The Cottage is lovely w/ a 2 bedroom suite, kitchen and sitting area. Londonderry is also a nice, cozy little town away from the madness of Stratton and only a hop and a skip to our fav family mtn, Bromley. We've found our new favorite spot!

This quaint establishment in the Vermont hills was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. First, our room had both a bedroom and a sitting room, which allowed me to nap while my fiancee wrote postcards. Next, the owners were more than helpful in telling us where to eat, recommending a number of places in town that were fantastic. In the morning, there was the most amazing gourmet breakfast. In fact, I don't know that I've ever had a better breakfast in a bed and breakfast! Crepes, omlettes, bacon that melted in your mouth, french toast....mmmm! On our way out, we got directions into New Hampshire along a beautiful route. The fall foliage didn't disappoint, thanks to the guide we got from the owners. All in all, a wonderful stay.
