Space is recently renovated or reconstructed, I believe -- much nicer space than noted by Matt R.'s review. Service is friendly, food is a mixed bag somewhat. Very tasty mussels and other appetizers. Curiously small meat portions for the entrees, but not badly prepared.

Nice Italian restaurant, feels "old school" but in a good way. Good place for groups and families. I gave it 4 stars compared with other dining options in Killington.

Ok, Peppinos is not 1 star. And it is not 5 stars. The sauce is not out of a jar. And it is most definitely not the best selection of craft beer on the access road. That would be The Garlic, or Domenic's. Or go to Griffin's in Rutland with 20 taps. But I digress. The flavors are good, and tend to be muted, as opposed to bold. The ingredients are decent quality, and the staff is friendly. It's a decent quality restaurant in a resort town at resort prices. I think if you go with that in mind, you'll be fine. If you expect big city 5 star Italian food, you will not be happy.

Great staff and good food for Vermont. Drinks are good, wine list could be a little more extensive. We have been there a number of times in the years we have been going to Killington and every year it seems to only get better.

This is a super cozy joint on the side of Mount Killington. This is a good place to unwind if you have been skiing all day. The food was quite decent. My hot girlfriend and I split this canneloni stuffed with various meat products and the Steak Barolo, which is the flagship dish at this joint, priced quite reasonably at $28.95. Everything else on the menu was cheaper than that. The steak had an awesome red wine, mushroom reduction. The meat itself was good, not amazing, but I wasn't expecting Grill 23. It was a tad underseasoned, but the sauce carried the dish. The service was mediocre. Very friendly older waiter, but he didn't shine. I had to grab the pepper grinder because the crew was napping, and he spilled 1/4 of my manhattan all over my menu and blamed my hot girlfriend for the positioning of her purse. He didn't check up enough on us. To top it off, the cheap bastards I was eating with shorted their portion of the bill and I got stuck overpaying. Overall, I'd recommend this place for those tired skiiers who are near by. Definitely not a destination type of restaurant. Hope you get better service than we did.

Excellent hospitality and customer service. The ziti vodka was delicious as well as the meatballs. We will definitely return.

GREAT place. We enjoyed the mozzarella fritti appetizer. The menu says it is not frozen and made fresh daily. I believe it. It was tasty and the cheese was perfectly melted. Then, we shared the penne vodka, which, was AMAZING. Best course of the night. Penne cooked perfectly with a flavorful sauce that was just the right balance of tomato and cream. A hint of red pepper flakes made the dish. For dinner we had the veal parm and the shrimp fra diavolo. At this point the chef came out to ask if I wanted to skip my pasta with the veal since we had eaten so much. Yes I said! He was kind enough to give me a side of meatballs as a substitution. The shrimp and linguini was also very good. The best dish of the night was the penne vodka. Highly recommend it. The service, from the hostess to the waiter, to the chef, was top notch. We will definitely come back if we are ever in the area again. Great meal and great service.

Not a bad italian place. We went on christmas eve, and it was pretty crowded. Pasta with clams and the veal were both good. More reviews here: tripadvisor.com/ShowUser…

I've read reviews that say "Just like the North End of Boston or Arthur Ave in the Bronx." Not even close. Thats the funniest thing I have ever heard. My impression was more like "Elementary School Cafeteria Food" Was not impressed by their service or food. Their marinara sauce tastes like Ragu from the can. I thought their food tasted like it was premade and had been sitting under a heater for hours to keep it warm. Not impressed.

Pretty standard traditional Italian joint, with your huge plates of pasta and meat entrees choices. I suppose it's one of the "nicer" restaurants in Killington, but I had a bit of sticker shock, to be honest. $15 for a plate of marinara and noodles just seems a bit absurd. But pasta was what we needed, and it filled a hole, so no complaints. Service was attentive and super friendly despite it being packed that night. Set up is rather cramped, but that could have also been due to the large crowds.

Coming from NY, we're pretty spoiled when it comes to Italian restaurants. We liked this place so much we came back twice for dinner during a 4 day weekend! Whether you're looking to refuel after a long hike/ride/day on the slopes or want to do something a little above par the neighboring taverns, this place hits the spot. Warm, friendly service and delicious food w a great Italian wine list/craft beer selection. Will spend a little more than some other restos but the quality definitely merits it. Will be back! Third time is the charm :) PS: try the garlic bread!

Service was slow. Food just average. Had to wait an obnoxiously long time for the check after we were finished. Perhaps I've been spoiled by real authentic Italian...this is not it. On par or just a little bit above an Olive Garden. But hey, it's a restaurant in a slow moving resort town (in the middle of nowhere)...can't expect that much more.

The absolute best Italian in Killington , VT.! I have been here a few times over the last 20 years or so and it always is a hit. I met the owner/ chef, Louis on a recent visit . He has run this place for the last 24 years. His longevity in a basically 1 season resort town tells you something about his abilities. The flatbread appetizer was tasty and the salad fresh. My tortollini alfredo with peas and prosciutto was creamy and satisfying. Perfection. One reviewer mentioned that this is no 5 star ,big city Italian restaurant. Well no kidding. It doesn't pretend to be. It's great Italian food in a pleasing atmosphere and just right after a day on the slopes !

This is a very good place to eat. The place is quiet and great real Itallian food. The veil parmigiana was really good and so was the tartufo. The bread and salads were also really good. They had a good olive oil sauce and great service! I highly recommend coming here!

Nice staff. Family feel. Half the people came in were regulars and the staff greeted them by name. The waiter recommended the vodka sauce and it was awesome. My wife had chicken parm. Also great.

great food and great service! Meatball parmigiana as appetizer was nicely done. Seafood pasta was perfectly done with lots of shellfishes.

Totally agree with one of the previous reviewers - above average prices for below average food. Tasteless osso bucco, strange tasting mussels linguine - I mean really, how can you screw up seafood linguine so bad? We've tried both of these dishes many times before in various Italian restaurants, and I would say this one managed to get into our "worst experiences" list with ease. Total bill before tip for just these 2 plates was about $53. Stay away.

Pretty much a standard Italian restaurant in Killington. We showed up without reservations for a table for 6 around 8pm on a Saturday night. The wait was about 20 minutes, so we hung out at the bar until they were ready for us. Salads and pasta were solid, but nothing special. The service was fine, but nothing to rave about. I thought for the money, it wasn't quite worth it. Had we not been so exhausted from all the snowboarding, we could have definitely made salads and pasta for at least 1/3 of the total bill.

Excellent. Nice atmosphere. Great food. Good service. We've eaten here many times on two ski trips to Killington. So warm and friendly. Every dish we've had is excellent. And they also have a nice selection of craft beers. Just the right place after a long say on the slopes.

Two adults and two kids and we had an awesome meal! The antipasti was excellent and Lluigi treated us right. We made reservation for tomorrow. Pete (my son) said it was amazing! He had penne and meatballs.

Had a delicious dining experience. Heard great reviews about this restaurant and after dining there I agree with all of them. The food is delicious. The meatballs are to die for. I am not even a meatball fan and couldn't stop eating them. My reservation was for 8 but bc it was a holiday weekend, we didn't get our table until 9. However, I didn't even mind it bc the hostess was very apologetic and kept coming up to us at the bar to make sure that we were okay and to provide updates. The wait staff was very nice when we got to our table and brought a few appetizers out for free because of the wait. Soooo nice. They were very attentive and every dish came out hot. And i was with a party of 10 people! I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for good food in a friendly atmosphere after hitting the slopes.

Perfect portions. We ordered appetizers, had salads, main dish and had room for dessert! Loved their Italian pilsner draft. Definitely worth a stop.

O.K. If you are expecting Little Italy, you are in the wrong part of the country. That being said, the food was good, and the portions reasonable. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was cozy, which is just what the doctor ordered on a rainy, chilly night in October. We would definitely return.

Did you know this is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE RESTAURANT ANYWHERE? Yes, it's true. It's the highlight of my trip every year! My dad and I do an annual birthday ski trip here, and Peppino's is by far the best restaurant in town. My family has been frequenting Killington for over 30 years. My dad and mom talk about the days of yore, about all the changes, what has come, what has gone. My dad loves this place as well. See, I'm a vegan. Annoying right? Well, this place doesn't make me feel annoying. I always order something that is not on the menu, and they always gladly make it for me. I order a pasta primavera with garlic and oil, and it is divine every time. They throw some sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, basil, broccoli, onions, fresh tomatoes, fresh peas..... OH MY GAH is it good! They also go out of their way to make their garlic bread with oil for me, instead of the usual butter. I truly appreciate how they go out of their way. My dad usually orders the meat dishes, and he is always very pleased. Back in the day when I ate cheese, I used to order the baked ziti, which was also a party in my mouth. I love this place. It's cozy, welcoming. It's the highlight of my year, and there's nowhere else I'd rather be enjoying my carb-o-licious birthday dinner than Pippino's. Another reviewer here spoke to the modest decor. Honestly, if that stuff is important to you, Killington is not the ski hill for you. Try Aspen, there are plenty of splashy places there. Mmmmmm Peppino's. [drooling] Hint: this place has three fireplaces. Make a reservation and request to sit near one if it's available.

I was at Peppino's last weekend during a company ski outing and both the service and the food were amazing! Our reservation was for 20 people at 8:30pm on a Saturday but, after a full day of skiing, we were famished and part of the group arrived early. We crowded out the bar but they were very polite. We were seated promptly at 8:30 in a spacious, private room in the back. Not eating pork, Italian is often a challenge for me. It usually results in me just not eating half the dishes but I was blown away by the level of accommodation at Peppino's. I asked one of the waiters about what I would be able to eat on our pre-fix menu and he just told me most of it was ok and not to worry about it (wasn't hopeful at that point). But, when each dish came out, he came over and personally signed off on each dish (veal meatballs were delicious) and, if there was a dish I couldn't eat, he would make me my own generous portion of something else. The taste and portions were great overall and we came away stuffed. They had a long list of desserts and I was happy with the few I tried. Overall, I really appreciated their commitment to service (not to mention delicious food).

OMG the vodka ziti ranks up there as one of the best things I have ever had in my mouth. Served with Pork Chop Gorgonzola (a thick fried pork chop topped with a cream gorgonzola sauce) HEAVEN!!!! I do think Louie (the owner) should offer a pair of stretchy pants when you order it though. Everything here is top-notch, but being an Italian who makes a lot myself, there are a couple items that I prefer my Nana's versions of, but so what. You must come to Peppino's when in Killington! I also love his mussels, eggplant rolatini, calamari, scallop dish in a cream sauce, haddock with a lovely tomato-caper topping, homemade fried mozzarella, any veal dish, shrimp fra diablo, this dessert called a "bomba" raspberry and mango sorbet encased in a white chocolate shell, and of course Juanita's TIARAMISU!!!! I am moving away and Peppino's is the only restaurant I'll miss.

Was here over new years weekend, with a different than normal holiday menu. The Cannelloni hit the spot after a half day of boarding. It took about 15 minutes after we got seated to put our order in, but they are on point with the water refills. Waitress was nice.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
