Friendly place and good hearty breakfast. Only challenge was that all the food was pretty greasy.

Best breakfast in Killington for sure! Such a cozy, homey family place with warm service and great food and coffee. Come hungry bc the portions are big. Can't wait to come back!

I had the "banana bread pancakes"... off the chart!!! OMG. ... It has cream cheese, walnuts, bannanas and warm maple syrup.... It's a little pricey... but worth it. The hours are rotten ... only open breakfast on Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon.

Satisfying but nothing that blew me away. Major pros: -Cute atmosphere with that log cabin feel you probably want if you're in vt -Several unusual items on the menu... One of my brunch pet peeves is how many restaurants offer the exact same 10 dishes (egg sandwich, Benedict, pancakes, bla bla bla). This place had at least 3 or 4 creative and unusual choices, both savory and sweet. - Fast friendly service Not 5 stars because I found it a tad overpriced and the flavor was just ok, nothing to write home about.

Meh. Not sure what the good reviews are about. It's an ok greasy spoon but nothing really to jump up and down about. Packaged land o lakes butter, processed syrup (I can get real syrup for more $), environmental disastrous half n half little creamers and the pancakes are meh average. It's a fine diner like joint but not the kick arse VT pancake house I wish it was. No local ingredients, in 2015??? Come on. Prices are on point for what you get but I'd pay more for higher grade local ingredients and another server to manage the AM rush. Also the always have this one overly hyper loud waiter who always seems to be on the verge of a heart attack. He's nice enough but the overbearing one man show is a little stressful to take on first thing in the AM. It took him 20 mins to bring us water which he brought us in two trips, I guess he has an issue with using a tray? Ps the peanut butter pancakes are gross. Definitely don't get them.

Pretty good food but ready for a long wait. Even on a busy post ski day Sunday morning, the line for a table wasn't that long and we were seated quickly. However, it took almost 30 minutes to have our order taken and over an hour for the food to come out. The decor is great with bear and deer heads and a nice back country theme. The coffee was hot and tasty though again, the milk took a long time to come out and the coffee was cold by then. The food was all great and were huge portions. The breakfast burrito was very good, though entirely vegetarian, so I ordered a side of chorizo to add in and it never came. The maple syrup hot sauce they have and sell is phenomenal. I regret not bringing some home. Makes a good breakfast if not in a rush and to go along with a long day skiing.

Great breakfast! My whole family loved it! I had omelette with homemade fries, my son had waffles, eggs, bacon, my daughter something else and my husband something else! It doesn't matter what you order, it is great! The crew is nice and very accommodating! Will definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Stopped in here for breakfast on Fathers Day after checking out the other Yelp reviews. Got seated immediately but it had a waiting line by the time we left around 10:30. Don't be deterred by other negative reviews-this is a solid breakfast spot. The menu is pretty extensive including a variety of omelets, pancakes, waffles and sides. The specials looked great and you can get a nice spiked coffee or alcoholic beverage if you are so inclined. I had the French Toast which was very nice with the delicious warn Vermont maple syrup. My husband had a horseradish omelet which also got positive reviews. Both the strawberry and blueberry pancakes that went by looked great. The only negative was the service was a little slow but I did hear the waitress say they weren't expecting such a big crowd (offseason) in the Killington area. So go ahead and give Backcountry a try if you're in the area. Play a round of golf at Green Mountain National after and make a day of it!

Huge wait when I went on a Sunday morning but I needed coffee & food. I ordered waffles & my boyfriend ordered an omelette. Both of us enjoyed what we got. His omelette was probably one of the best I've ever had. I couldn't stop stealing his food. I also enjoyed the cute homey feeling of the place. They had awesome deer heads up. Very perfect for Vermont. Will for sure come next when I'm in town again. Great staff, everyone was super nice.

Stopped here on start of travel up rt 100 to see fall leaves. Excellent food -- our family got blueberry pancakes, Belgian waffle, Mexican scramble plus extras. My husband said the blueberry pancakes were the best he's ever had, same for me and Mexican scramble. Good mix of basic breakfast staples w some very interesting alternative -- amaretto french toast w strawberries & mascarpone cheese, that calorie concerns kept me from trying. Good prices for excellent food ($50 for 4), perfectly sized (and not oversized) portions. A great find.

We were in Killington for a wedding and went to the cafe for two mornings because it was so great. Dan remembered us the next day and really made it a great experience. The food comes quick and there is plenty of it.

Had a great breakfast here on our way out of town after a week of skiing. Great service, very bright and sunny seating area, and they don't skimp on the portions! Great amount of food for the money. I had eggs and chocolate chip pancakes, and I was full until dinner! We were there on a Friday morning, no wait and quick service.

This was a great find the last time I visited. The Italian omelet was excellent. Nice ski lodge ambiance and friendly staff. Looking forward to going there this weekend. Perfect way to start the day.
