Great stop south of the border. Friendly people and solid food.
The "subs" are really more like gourmet sandwiches. At its best the roast beef is about the best I've ever had. Everything they bake is terrific. Very friendly service though things get a bit chaotic at times. Portions are medium to small -- just right for me but maybe not the place to take the football team after the big game. BTW, the Yelp map I see shows this on the wrong side of the Interstate.
We happened upon this place while visiting relatives. It is now a regular stop for us every time we are up that way. They have the best donuts and crullers. We stopped by one day, and they only had one donut left, so they made us 6 fresh ones! Very friendly, great service, and great food & coffee.

What a gem! An absolute must in the NEK. We are in town visiting family and had a large group dinner here; 12 adults and one toddler. They put us in our own room and the service was stellar. They never winced at the brazen and energetic two-year-old running through the dining room! The food is spectacular as well - so many choices and all so authentic! Our whole family was impressed at the selection and the overall quality. Side note: the French fries were the BEST anyone had ever had! Additionally, the inn rooms upstairs are something to behold. They are immaculate, expertly decorated and have charm to spare. I am so impressed and pleased to see an establishment like this in the NEK and even more chuffed to see it doing so well. It's worth the jaunt to Derby Line, we can't wait to head back. Bravo to the Derby Line Village Inn!
Stopped in for drinks at their bar with family. Bartenders were slow on the uptake: didn't know the pronunciations of their on tap German beer selections. That would be fine, except this place is supposed to be about Austrian cuisine. Then both of them were very rude to my mom, who had expressed her disappointment about not being able to get the kind of drink she wanted. When I'm visiting next, will likely choose a different place for drinks
If you're visiting the North East Kingdom do yourself a favor a schedule a visit to this great place! Great people and amazing food.

Went here for lunch the other week. It was nice inside and the staff was very nice. Got a salad with added chicken and flight of 4 for $20. I would go back again. Hopefully they stay here longer than the last few places.
Tried this place for the first time February 2012. 3 adults & 2 kids cost $85 with tip. First the good: The place is very nice and the people are VERY friendly and accommodating. My friend had the pasta with Alfredo sauce and said it was very good. The kids' portion of chicken tenders was more than enough. Now the bad: - My wife and I wanted to split a pizza, but they "can't do halves on pizza toppings because the oven is 900 degrees and when the pizza is turned to check that it is cooked thoroughly, the toppings will all run into each other." - Why not just tell me you want to sell me two overpriced pizzas instead of one? - I ordered pepperoni pizza. When I got it, it was more like cheese bread with pepperoni. There was no indication of sauce. Pepperoni pizza is by nature greasy, but the sauce helps to masks the taste of the grease. All I could taste was bread, cheese and grease. It was VERY dry. - They offered to make me a new one, and when I declined, they gave me a $15 gift certificate since the bill had already been paid and I only ate 2 pieces. (as I mentioned - very accommodating) Also, I acknowledge that this could be a matter of opinion and dry pizza is not necessarily bad pizza to everyone. - My wife's pizza was also not very good. She ordered a veggie pizza, similar to what she orders regularly, but it just didn't taste very good. She drowned in with ranch because she was hungry. - The "homemade" bread served before dinner tasted like that from a bread machine, very dry and not very tasty. The olive oil dip was good. - My wife's wine tasted old and vinegary. In her opinion, it had been open too long to be served. - The total bill for 2 12-inch pizzas, 1 all-you-can-eat pasta meal, 1 kids' mac n' cheese, and 1 kids' chicken strips with fries (drinks 3 waters, 1 iced tea and 1 glass of wine) was $70!! Hopefully they'll look at their page here and take some criticism constructively. I mean, even Sally's Apizza in New Haven makes half & half pizzas!!
I came here a few weekends ago during a quick trip to Derby. I had the Vermont maple salad and my boyfriend had the Vermonter panini. Delicious! Both were so good, we even came back the next day for lunch again! Service was excellent, even during the height of lunch hour.

Absolutely love this place. The first time we went I had prime rib. It was perfectly cooked and awesome. The second time I had butternut raviolis in a maple Alfredo sauce. It was the best thing I have had in a long time. We brought a friend from out of town with us and he had the Delmonico steak. It was cooked perfectly as well. We had a great time with great food and will be back again even if it is an hour travel from our house!
Excellent service, Beef Tidbits are always yummy! My once a yr snowmobiling stop never disappoints:) Thank you Cow Palace! Thank you Sonya and Ericka!
Pros: Elk viewing free of charge in the barnyard. Elk burger, made from elk roaming outback, with home-made sweet potato fries are a must try. Servers are friendly and competent. Cons: Expect a long wait for your food if a tour group is present.

Just arrived home from a weekend stay at this amazing B&B and my fiancé and I are still raving about it. He has thanked me ten times for finding the place and I've thanked him just as many times for bringing me there! Enough about us! Inn Keepers Jo and Mo are incredible hosts and chefs. Made us feel so at home and welcome and we are looking forward to going back again. Their breakfasts were simply delicious and also so healthy. First morning homemade potato bread French toast with walnuts and berries and a grilled grapefruit to start. Second morning an extremely light and tasty tomato and cheese omelette, homemade bread, fresh pineapple, and a taste of Mo's cranberry sweet bread she'd been baking the night before and we had the pleasure of smelling! Their coffee is dessert like too, totally delicious. Food and presentation were so impressive we booked dinner there on Saturday night and were blown away. I had their signature dish rack of lamb with a balsamic rosemary sauce/reduction. Fiancé had crab stuffed chicken. Our intentions when we put our dinner order in that morning were to share the dishes but couldn't, we were both too happy and satisfied with our own plates. We both commented on our way home how well we slept in the Library Room and agreed it was the super comfy bed, the exquisitely soft sheets, the breeze from the lake, and the overall contented feeling we had staying there. If you ever find yourself in this area of VT so close to Canada, you have to stay here! Check out their website to view their spectacular menu and read about their award winning reviews.
Do not stay at this Inn!!!! They are rude and make you feel you are imposing and not welcome.

Anytime I visit My friend in Waterville Qc I take her to China Moon in Vt. We Both enjoy all the food and the price is reasonable, service is great, no complaints At all
We've tried this buffet seven times in the past and it varies each time (probably depending on who is cooking). Today was the last time we will ever go there again. First, we arrived around 3:15pm just as lunch was winding down. Sparse offerings at the buffet but sufficient for our party of three. My wife noticed that the tilapia was spoiled, due to a foul odor. Clearly, the fish was no good but they cooked and served it anyway. My wife quietly informed the waitress about it and they removed the dish, which was probably a good idea for the health of their customers. They stiffed us on the check and overcharged at the dinner rate, even though there was barely any food for lunch. To make a long story short, we will never go back...but perhaps the VT health department should!
This is the most infamous Chinese buffet I've seen in my entire life. I would happily pay for undoing the moment when I ran into this place online. Do a favour to your gastric system and do not go to this place.
