Outstanding small restaurant! The ingredients were all very fresh and local. I had a spinach ravioli with chicken in a cheese sauce. It was well prepared, some of the best food I've had in Vermont. The homemade maple cream pie was outstanding! On top of the food, the service was both friendly and excellent. The place was very very clean and but still maintained a rustic and homegrown feeling. I highly recommend this place! As of this review, they take American Express.

Came here with my mom for dinner. We made a reservation and the owner was very nice and accommodating. In fact, everyone we encountered there was. Our waitress was great, very conversational and attentive. The salad and soup we ordered (kale and Parmesan) were delicious and so fresh. The main entrees though, veggie pasta and the seafood newburg (lobster, scallops, etc.) was in a creamy red pepper sauce we were not very fond of. It was clearly fresh though, just not our cup of tea. Mine was also a bit on the room temperature side and not hot. I will definitely come back to try a different entree though despite that.

Food is 5 stars. Only drawback is the small space "in the bar" is quite dark and very noisy.

+Friendly service. -Dark indoor atmosphere downstairs. +Stiff, large vodka tonic - great! +Delicious scallops! -NY strip steak was very disappointing. -Overall - too pricey. $100 for two with wine and a shared desert. +Maple cream pie was awesome.

My husband and I ate dinner here on the recommendation of the owner of a B+B we were staying in. He recommended we eat downstairs (there are two floors). It was a lovely space. Romantically lit by candlight, it was divided into several small rooms that made it feel more intimate. There were fresh flowers at each table. The menu was written on a black board (apparently it changes nightly) and was small- 4 appetizers and maybe 8 entrees to choose from. When we came into the restaurant I didn't really know what I was hungry for. I glanced at the menu and thought it would be fine, but, I realized once we sat down that I really was in the mood for a big salad with fish or shrimp on it and a cup of soup-- not an option on the menu (they didn't have a salad selection- just the option of a side salad or soup included with every entree, or a soup, salad + bread option). I was having a difficult time deciding and we were considering just ordering drinks and leaving, but the space was so lovely we really wanted to stay. So I asked our waitress if there was any way I could get a big salad and add grilled shrimp to it, and she said it was not a problem. I was very grateful that they were so accommodating! I had a glass of the pinot grigio. It was not terrific- it had a funny aftertaste and came in one of those small glasses that is meant for red wine (I hate to be snobbish, but I do feel if I am going out to a nice meal and paying $7 or more for a glass of wine, I like to enjoy it out of the big glass it was meant to be served in). My husband had a Harpoon Celtic Ale (one of the two beers on tap). I had a bowl of their soup of the night, a creamy tomato with pasta which was really excellent (and I am normally wary of "creamy" soups because they tend to be heavy, but this was perfect, delicious and really hit the spot after a 7-mile hike in the snow.) My salad with shrimp and my husband's steak -which came with fries and broccoli and string beans- were satisfying but nothing to write home about. I am giving The Creamery 4 stars because although our food wasn't spectacular, the excellent service and cozy decor made the dining experience a pleasant one overall.

I took my mother here for her birthday and the meal was delicious! It was a bit on the pricey side for my slim wallet, but it was worth it.
