Went here with my SO and mom for lunch! My mom had previous good experiences here and wanted me to come to write a review. First thing first! USB ports and outlets at the table in a easily accessed location, I love this idea! Great for chilling there for a while using your laptop or charging your phone. There was a TV right over the outlet, needless to say we enjoyed rewatching Wreck it Ralph. The food was average, unremarkable, but good enough that McGillicuddy's didn't lose any stars. Our waitress was very pleasant and nice. Food was timed perfectly, came at a perfect middle range where we had time to talk before chowing down. If the food was better it would be five stars! I think next time I'll try their chicken pot pie!

I live next to Maguillicuddy's and have eaten here several times. Also have sent family and friends to the restaurant. I have not had a bad meal nor have I heard a bad comment from anyone I recommended the restaurant. It has a nice pub atmosphere and the staff is friendly. There are plenty of TVs as well as a personal TV in each booth. The beer list is good and extensive.

Little expensive, but better food than last restaurant that was here. Hope they keep up the good work.

Just went there today for the first time for lunch. What a disaster. 5 of us ordered burgers, fish and chips and shepherd's pie. Here's a list of the problems with the food: - We ordered the burgers medium rare. They arrived really well-done. It was the driest and least flavorful burger I've ever attempted to eat. I didn't know it was possible to screw-up a burger this badly until I came to McGillicuddy's. - The bacon on the burger was very cheap bacon and not cooked correctly. It was soggy, sloppy and greasy. - The avocado on both California burgers was disgusting. Definitely not freshly cut.. it was 50% blackened. - The side-salad I ordered looked like it had been retrieved from a compost pile. The lettuce was brown, wilted and dry, the cucumber slices looked like they had been sitting around for weeks (completely dry and limp). The waitress agreed it looked awful. I sent it back. - The fries were heavy, burnt, old and extremely greasy. And obviously made from FROZEN potatoes!! Really.. how hard is it to make fresh french fries?? - The fish batter was completely inedible - thick, sloppy and greasy. - The fish was cooked for so long, it didn't even resemble fish any longer. And absolutely no flavor at all. - The shepherd's pie was one big sloppy insipid mess. There isn't a pub in Ireland that would serve anything like that.. In addition to the inexcusably yucky food, there were flies all over the place! We spent our entire time swatting flies away from ourselves, our drinks and our food. It was like we were eating in a horse barn. This is a sign of extremely poor hygiene. Why do people decide to open a restaurant and then serve food like this? Why?! I can only speculate that folks must come here for the beer, and then order food after 4 or 5 pints of ale. When you're sober the food is absolutely inedible. And at $12 for a burger, there is just no excuse for this terrible quality. In summary - This could not have been a worse dining experience if they had tried. I have no idea how this place is still in business. Never, ever again.

I know people say this often but if I could give this place a negative 5 stars, I absolutely without a doubt would. I can't remember the last time I was in an establishment like this... Right now, I am actually sitting in a booth at this place wondering why we are still here. To start, we arrived here around 1:25 PM on a Sunday. The place looked like it had a few patrons but it did not seem very busy. We asked for a table for 6 and were told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. Well 25 minutes later no one had bothered to talk to us and when one of the servers came by he quickly asked if we needed a drink. No. We need a table and after 35 minutes we finally got one. After being seated we waited at least 10-15 minutes more for the waitress to come by the table. When she came we ordered both drinks and our food. She brought the drinks over but forgot one- not a big deal she fixed it by immediately bringing the last drink over. At this point we have been at this place for over an hour. We also ordered our food about 30 minutes ago and still nothing is here. I guess the mozzarella stick appetizer made it out but that was not accompanied by anything else. We did not get any of those small plates nor extra napkins so we all had to hold into to the hot mozzarella sticks while our fingers cried out in pain. During this wait, my little brother made an excellent point; "why don't you write the review now? You have another hour wait here." Yes. He was right. So I asked the waitress if there was a wifi password. Her answer? "Oh I'm not sure. Let me check." Correct me if I'm wrong but, doesn't she work here? Shouldn't she just know the password? She had to check?! What?! This place is a mess. It's been an hour and 20 mins and still no meal. I'm anxious to see what comes out... To be continued. I also want to throw in that we overheard another couple near us mention that they waited for their food for an hour and a half! What?! This place isn't even busy right now- I'm horrified to even think about what happens when it's a busy night. Reflection: Okay. So we managed to survive this outing but have sworn it off- forever. The food that eventually made its way out to us was nothing to write home about. The four burgers were actually really dry and tasted burnt. I am pretty sure that I could make a better burger at home- on a stove. Also, the one grilled cheese was disgusting. The cheese slices on the inside were not melted- at all. Either they used frozen cheese or they just toasted each slice open face and hoped that once that slices were slapped together that the cheese would magically melt. But seriously, I have never seen someone mess up grilled cheese before...you just melt the cheese, that's the big secret! This place is literally unbelievable....

Although the food IS unspectacular, a McGillicuddy's is a very welcome sight in this spot, which had 2 very crappy restaurants prior. As far as it being a bar, it's really good. My Guinness was poured perfectly, & HD TVs everywhere are great for watching sports.

I ordered the shrimp basket and it was the absolute worst meal I've ever had. Shrimp batter was very greasy and mushy on the inside. For the 1st time in my dining life, I was happy to see so few shrimp in a basket.

Burgers and brew and, yes, salads! This is a great neighborhood pub with tons of good local brews on tap, great burgers, and very good boneless wings. Don't miss the fried dill pickle chips! They rock. The waitstaff here is also super friendly. Don't know what the first review of this place is talking about. This place is one of the cleanest pubs I've been in. I've been here fairly regularly since its opening and have only had positive experiences. When reading a negative review on Yelp, always look to the number of reviews the writer has created. If it's a small amount, it's probably a fake review and an account created just to disparage an establishment (for god knows what reason).

Writing for a friend who went last evening.. The Rueben sandwich was long, stringy cuts of meat poking out through the end of the bread. The meat was cut incorrectly and she said she was literally afraid if she took too large a bite, she would choke. Her companion had the fries, which were the big planks, and come from far away in frozen bags. The coleslaw was "a little off", though the waiter was polite and professional. My friend doesn't think she'll return..

McGillicuddy's on The Green is a great local spot to grab a craft beer and some solid food. The owner did a great job to improve upon the restaurant that was there before him. A great rotating beer list, one of the best TV set ups in the area to watch a game and a patio area that is great in the summer all make for reasons to stay local and go to MucGillicuddy's.

Been to this restaurant a few times. Excellent selection of Vermont draft beers and nice atmosphere. The food portions seem to be on the small side. We ordered sweet potato fries and the first order was almost burnt and dry. The second order was much better. When we compared our first order (the burnt ones) to the new ones, instead of offering to exchange them, the waitress just said, "I like them better that way myself". Philly Cheeseteak sandwich was small and just average. Much better places in the area for food but good for a couple beers.

Solid place to catch a game. Great local beers on tap. Food is mediocre. Nice layout, and they have an outdoor dining option if you're interested. Every booth has a small flat screen TV which is a nice feature, especially if you want to watch a game and have small kids (distracting with Disney Channel is key).

Great service, excellent sports selection, loved the Irish nachos! Lots of space too; will definitely return.

If you feel like wasting time and money, I would highly recommend going to this poor excuse of a restaurant. If I could give this restaurant negative stars, I would. We have been to the McGillicuddy's On The Green a few times since we live in the complex the restaurant is located in. The first time we went in, we left and said that we would never go back. We both ordered burgers, they took an extremely long time and were disgustingly overcooked. Service wasn't that great either. We went back a second time, as we had heard that the food and service were a lot better from a co-worker. Well, it was a little better. We ordered burgers again, and they came out cooked much better. The service was a little better also. Our last and final time chance for McGillicuddy's On The Green was just a disaster. We went in and were seated. Our server appeared approximately 10 minutes later, took our drink orders, brought our drinks over and walked away. We closed our menus hoping that he would take a hint and come take our food orders. No such luck. 30 minutes later we decided that it was time to leave. It was very nice of a few of the employees to thank us on our way out, although I'm not sure what exactly we were being thanked for. I hope that our server had fun talking to all of his friends on his phone and I also hope that his team won their game, since the tv was more entertaining then serving his customers. Thanks for walking by us a couple times to play on the computer too. If you're looking for somewhere better to eat and drink, try the Bowling Alley in Colchester. It has the same frozen food that you'll find at McGillicuddy's, but the service and atmosphere is a lot better.

Have eaten here many times and hope that whomever is in the kitchen could cook the burgers correctly........ I don't understand that every one I have ever had and almost always the grass fed meat that it comes out well done and dry...... I order medium rare and expect that. Is any place perfect, no, but I have probably since they opened had 10 burgers and NEVER cooked correctly and very disappointing..... As for fries it seems virtually NO restaurants in VT cook their fries to make them CRISPY....... I like the staff, other foods items have been very good and the place is clean and close by so I hope they can get a cooking staff that can do better, hope they are hearing it as it seems to be a consistent complaint about over cooked, dry burgers and soggy undercooked fries but that seems to be all over VT.

We love this place. We have tried the wings, Shephard's pie, salmon burger, sweet potato fries. All very good. The shrimp cocktail is really good, the cocktail sauce has a great kick to it. I can't say much about the pub side of it s far as the beer, etc. although it looks like they have a big selection.

Good tap lineup, but don't go for the food! I had the On the Green Burger. I woke up at 1am nauseous and sick sick to my stomach. They have only been open a few days and are already serving bad food! What a disappointment! I live within walking distance and was really looking forward to this place opening.
