Pros: -Good food for less than $10 -Fantastic coffee -Outdoor seating -Homemade kombucha! Cons: -Some sandwiches seem a little small for the price, though not all -Service seemed very fast for some sandwiches, very slow for others Highly recommend the ginger kombucha and the Vietnamese tofu wrap

Stopped here for lunch and got their signature roast beef sandwich. It was hand carved roast beef which I appreciated and the roll was pretty good also. However, if you're going to go through the trouble of doing hand carved then your veggies should be high quality too. Iceberg lettuce and a slice of tomato half the size of the bun does not make a good sandwich! The coleslaw was sort of bland and the cabbage was cut along the grain....it felt like I was eating spaghetti, but it was coleslaw. It was hard to eat as raw cabbage is not as malleable as cooked pasta.

Great meal in a pleasant setting for under $10? I'll have one of those, please. Stopped in for a weekday lunch and had a portobello panini. There were a lot of components to the sandwich and flavors were all well-balanced. The focaccia was fresh and delicious and the pickle was amazing. Bristol Bakery is a great example of the type of small-town business that makes Vermont such a pleasure to visit. Two thumbs up!

I dont know about you folks but when I go to a coffee house I expect STRONG, GOOD coffee. And for the price these folks charge for a cup of mocha latte, is quite shameful being the coffee was SO weak and the employee could do for a better/friendlier attitude as well. Nope, not going there again..that's for sure.

Great ambience and great coffee. I wouldn't travel out of the way for the place but if you're in the area and want a great window seat with some hot coffee or chocolate, I would suggest not passing it up. Food is three stars, everything else is four or better

Stumbled upon this place en route to Jersey from Burlington. Had a great meal. The prix fixe brunch was really good.

Stop here at least once a year on the way home or to the Mad River Valley. Always have a great breakfast in a friendly atmosphere. And I have to add some of the most attractive, friendly, wholesome locals anywhere.

This will be a quick one as Sue and I came in here on a little drive on a Monday morning to get a light bite to eat. Sue lived in Bristol at one point and the Bristol Bakery & Cafe was a place that although she might not frequent, she certainly came here a fair share of times. We both ordered breakfast bagels. I had a salt and pepper bagel and that came with 2 fried eggs and cheddar and your choice of meat ($3.50). I don't usually order bacon, but I did this time. The bagel was surprisingly good. They make them here. Not exactly a NY style bagel, but I wasn't expecting it to be. Nice assortment of other baked goods here. I probably should have gotten something else to sample, but I didn't. Next time.

Great menu. The chicken pot pie had a little too much crust for my liking, but the contents were tasty. The girl who took my order didn't seem too happy to be doing what she was doing on this particular day, but I understand we all have days like that.

Over priced for a mediocre product. Bagels are spongy, lack flavor and texture.

This place is totally adorable AND has amazing food and delicious coffee. As a new VT resident, I am without an internet connection and need to complete a big project. So, I popped in here and have had Breakfast AND Lunch. Scrambled eggs with sausage and toast and awesome homefries. Big portion, everything made to order, for 7 dollars??? Okay! Then a few hours later, a delish arugula salad with chicken salad. I don't know what the dressing was but it was so good! And again huge portion, and again less than 10 dollars..... The people here likely think I am insane, sitting here for 7 hours so far... but no one mentioned it... hahah! Love it! And will def be back!!!!

I frequent the bakery for a couple of reasons. I love their coffee and pastries, the free WiFi, and sitting outside in the Adirondack chairs on a warm sunny afternoon. My favorite drink is the cappuccino or the french roast. The bread is hearty and delicious. The bagels are fresh everyday They always seems to be jamming to some feel good music. I also love to see all the locals there. When I went there yesterday, I knew probably half of the people there. It is a great to go into an establishment and feel like it is an extension of your home. The bakery is cozy just like home. I love that it is a 3 minute walk from my home.

Bristol Bakery used to have the best bagels in the area. In the last 6 months the quality of the bagels have gone down hill. They are now "bready" instead of chewy and the toppings/flavors are sparse.

For a time, my bff was the spunky fire-cracker cream-cheesing your bagel. They serve great pastries and bread products and they make it all themselves. The dining area is high ceilinged and large windowed. I loved heading in there, when in Bristol, for breakfast that I could take out and sit on the adirondack chairs out front and watch the people go by. Bristol is definitely a pretty locals-only town tucked into the mountains, but I love it there.

what everyone else said, plus.... they've got the best chocolate cupcake ever. dark, not milk. yum. also, delicious soup, good portions and not overpriced considering the fresh and homemade factor.

Great atmosphere. Expensive high class prices. Free WI FI. They really should drop the prices and I am sure they would do better. Great food. High quality. Small portions. High price

A sunny, friendly cafe serving home-made pastries, bread, bagels, and great sandwiches. Mostly locals, but popular with tourists in summer. Free wifi, friendly staff, great light, plenty of seating. My home away from home.

Some places say come on in and stay a while... this is one of those places. Sunday Brunches are 10.00, hearty and healthy tasty, I like the tex mex burritos and mango smoothies. Regulars get warm welcomes and the mocha lattes/scones are very tasty! Free Wi Fi too.

The place is very spacious and could be comfortable. But being in VT it is as so many other places here patronized by regular crowds of always the same groups of people that give the place a weird feeling. Like entering a club. You get to know the people, but possibly you want a bit more, well surprise? Anonymity? So it feels because of that point a bit like a dive bar, even if it could be so much better. Reading through the menu and looking at the display one might think the food is great. You'll either have to drop your standards or will be disappointed quite some bit. Croissants cost almost 4$, a juice from the cooler, same, a special coffee... same. A BLT cost the average BLT price for the area, don't hold me down to it, I think it was in the 7$ range, and I am sorry to say this: their BLT is the grossest thing I have eaten in Vermont. OK, I will be more specific, or it is not fair to say this: you'll get two slashes of what may be hand baked there, but looks and tastes just like your generic supermarket bread, square, flat sponges. I have no idea what they do to their bacon in the kitchen, I can't say "behind closed doors", as they have windows to watch some of it. Anyways the bacon is some deep fried(?) weird hard brown yukk stuff. A tomato, some mayo, there you go, 7$ if you please. Really? We went recently, refusing to once again pay over 10$ per person for a special coffee, a juice and a croissant, so we stuck to a generic cup of coffee and a baguette to share between two people. The coffee was normal, but the baguette? Again I am wondering: are they actually baking the stuff there, or are they purchasing it pre-made deep frozen from some supermarket and just pushing it in the oven? Either way: it is really gross. I usually rate a place higher for atmosphere than for decorative aspects of food, as I think feeling is drastically underrated in this country. But this place, oh dear. It would be alright if the prices were really, really low. It would be fair. This is not fair. Staff. Mostly young frilly VT girls. Unfortunately what seems the head sales girl is really rude. It is possible that she does not realize how she comes across, that is fine, but her boss should realize it and eventually encourage her to smile once and a while at customers, instead of staring them down. Rumor has it, she has been witnessed smiling to certain people, but it is not clear, who these "certain people" would be. Hmmm. Not so god. Other kids working there are very friendly, so you might get lucky. Still, it is the most acceptable hang-out-place in the town of Bristol, and once the owner sells it and moves with his made fortune to the Cayman Islands and some wild hippies take it over and serve soul food (they may just keep the prices) it will be a great place. Right now it is not, but it has the potential, if only many things would be changed there, like food quality up, and the prices down, and the attitude of some more positive vibes and sometimes they seem to have AC issues, and it is one of the places where you smell like you worked in the kitchen for the day. So sorry folks. Try harder to convince me. They do have outdoor seating, which is rather nice and sunny. They have free WiFi and parking on the street is usually no problem. Next door is a nice little Hippie store with unique clothing, East Asian silver jewelry and other knick-knack, the shop after that a small, but well sorted bookstore, so you can do something else if you ran away from your BLT or the grumpy sales girl... apart from that: waiting for the day...
