My wife and I were in the midst of a long drive home from a family trip with our two girls, aged 8 and 10. We wanted pizza, had been in the car 3 1/2 hours, and Bennington was the best place to stop on the way to find it, right on the main drag downtown. We also wanted t keep our spending down, if possible. We found Ramunto's on the web, and it was awesome. Thin-crust NY-style pizza, self-serve fountain drinks, and good-sized salads and calzones. They have a very good lunch special: 7 days a week, you get two cheese slices and a free refill fountain soda for $3.50. M-F, same deal, except you can two specialty slices, and it is $5. The two slices will be large - almost certainly enough for most adults, and definitely enough for any kid. We ordered a large Greek salad, as well, and at $6.50, we felt it was a very good value. My wife and I were able to take about 1/3 each of it, and my kids split the other third, and we were satisfied with our portions as a pre-pizza salad. All of it was very tasty. There is free on-street parking, right on Main Street (Rt. 9) downtown. The ambiance is very casual. About half of the floor space is for a bar, with two big TVs that had football games on. Although we didn't have any beer on this visit, I was impressed by the variety of beers on tap, and would definitely come back for a dinner if I was in the area sometime. You can eat at the bar. The other half of the customer area is a number of finished picnic tables, plus several traditional four-seat square tables. There are two more big TVs, which also had football on. It is not a sports bar, per se, but the ambiance, posters, etc., are very sports-centric. The bar was about full, with eight or 10 people clearly taking their time, watching football, and socializing. Definitely local residents. The dining room had several families and small groups of teenagers , none of them terribly interested in the football games. The service was very good. The pizza came out very quickly, fresh from the oven, and the young woman who took our order was very friendly. The bill for four lunch specials and a large Greek salad was $22 - you can't beat that. My only complaint is that the football games were extremely loud. It is not a very big place, but the volume was VERY high, to the point where my wife and kids were getting annoyed. I am a huge football fan, and even I was a little annoyed by the level of volume. A very small thing, though, for an excellent restaurant - highly recommended for families, couples, or an individual looking to have a relaxing, casual meal in a friendly, local environment. We will return.

Great pizza place for a small town that doesn't have much going on. Order by slice or get a whole pizza. They also have a nice little bar inside too. We got a couple slices (pepperoni and white sun dried tomato with spinach and feta). Both were very good. Pretty New Yorky which surprised us. We also ordered the wings which were decent as well and the garlic knots which were delicious. Service is quick and prices are reasonable. Solid place.

Decent pizza place in a sleepy town. Ordered the spinach dip appetizer, half salad, and large meat-lovers pizza. The cashier warned us the spinach would take a while, but we were in no rush. The spinach dip was GIGANTIC - could have been a meal. The pizza was adequate - not bad, not amazing. Good beer selection and bar area. Main complaint is the lack of table service - makes ordering confusing. Order your food up front, open a tab so you can order beer at the bar, you're on your own as far as refills, napkins, silverware, etc. Go back to the cashier when you're ready to leave... etc. Just a lot of work for the customer.

Pretty sure this is the only place that delivers in this town. Ordered a chicken parmigiana plate with linguini and a tomato & mozzarella salad with balsamic vinaigrette ok the side. What was delivered was a chicken parmigiana sub and there was no dressing for the salad. Very disappointed. Didn't bother to call to correct the order. The salad was also just lettuce with three pieces of mozzarella and thinly sliced tomatoes (what you would put on a sandwich) that were wilted. I'm sure I'll be forced to order from here again if I want delivery and don't want to leave my hotel. Next time I'll try pizza.

Garlic-y NY style pizza with a good VT selection of beers. A good bar for Bennington's small downtown. Nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about. Strong local presence here. The best Ramunto's of all time is the Rutland, VT location. For some reason, the pizza is far better at that location.

The pizza and salads were extremely delicious. The service was a little strange, but everyone was perfectly nice.

We were visiting from NYC and read about Ramunto's on yelp. We recommend this place. The food is good, there are many options and the prices are reasonable. The staff is also friendly.

Walked in here randomly. Happily surprised to find it was affordable and delicious! The staff was friendly. There was lots of seating (indoor and out). Everyone inside was in a good mood and there were tons of different beers on tap (which is always a plus). To make things even better though, they were having some sort of trivia night and they had certain brews for $3.50. I also saw that you could get two slices of pizza and a soda for $5 during certain times which is really a killer deal given how stellar their pizza was.

In town a few weeks ago doing some house-hunting and after day 1 of hunting (9 houses!) we got a pie from this spot. My sentimentality made it hard to commit since I always loved Alldays & Onions when living in Bennington years ago but I was talking into it. Actually, I don't know if I had a choice. I'm a New Yorker so I don't understand the whole toppings thing - we went with plain cheese, ordered some garlic knots, and enjoyed with a two liter of coke, the way pizza is supposed to be enjoyed. Gotta say: not bad! Not bad at all. The crust was crisp, the sauce was balanced, the pie had oregano (pizza without oregano is like a Jewish Pope), and it was cooked exactly right. I'm looking forward to going INTO the restaurant because the beer list is pretty good from what I've heard. While we haven't attended yet, we have Ramunto's Trivia Nights on our to do list for once we're back in town. The other food is supposed to be good, too, but I think I'll stick to the plain cheese pie... it's impossible to get a good one of those out here in the midwest!

My husband and I have been to Ramuntos a few times now when we visit my family's ski house in the area. We absolutely love it. The pizza & wings are delicious, beers on tab selection is awesome, and atmosphere is terrific.

My family and I stopped here on our way home from our ski weekend, and the food was delicious! As New Yorkers, we are very particular about our pizza, but we loved the pizza here. We ordered a whole bunch of dishes for the table so everyone got to taste a bunch of stuff. The chicken wings were phenomenal, the ones we got had this great crispy garlic coating. The meatballs were homemade and filled with flavor. They tasted like an italian grandmother prepared them! I LOVED the steak bomb sandwich. Definitely give that one a try. We finished the meal with these cinnamon knots that I haven't stopped thinking about, they melt in your mouth, and they are pretty addicting. The bar has a huge selection of Beers on tap, and the prices were great. We will definitely be coming back here on our next Vermont trip :)

It is almost impossible to find good pizza in this area. This is great pizza at a good price and the wings and sides we got were good too. Friendly service and quick turnaround and a good beer list. Hard to go anywhere else in Bennington where most of the food is so so.

Usually a great pizza joint, sometimes the pizza is a bit flat.... joke not intended!

We stop here every year on our ski trip. Great selection of draft beers and great pizza. A must stop!

We ordered 4 large pizzas. Each one as delicious as the next. Loved the white pizza. Caramelized onions and meatballs were sooooo good. I do have to say the garlic knots were to die for. I have lived in NJ and frequented NYC and I have to say the quality was equivalent to top pizzerias there if not better. Can't wait to stop there on my way through again.

Average NY Style pizza. My wife got buffalo chicken salad. Salad was fresh and had a lot of chicken on it. Not too hot. Bar area and four tv's.

This is the best pizza and standard Italian in the area. I'm a New Yorker and I waited for almost a decade for a true NY pizza shop to come into town. They also have a great selection of beers on tap.

I was excited to hear about a new local pizza place attempting to bring life to a small town like Bennington. Ramuntos has exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. The owners are incredibly kind and personable and put much love into their food. The bar is a nice place to enjoy time with a few friends and watch a sports game. Places like this can help rebuild a struggling town like Bennington.

A few things about this place really annoy me. First, they charge a "surcharge" for using a credit card. Second, lunch sandwiches should NEVER take 30 minutes to make on a slow day at a pizza place.

Ramunto's Pizza opened up a new location in the former Alldays & Onions space. They have several independently owned and operated locations throughout VT and NH. I've enjoyed the pizza at the other Ramunto's locations in NH (Hanover and Lebanon). This Ramunto's serves up New York and Sicilian pizzas (by the slice & pie), calzones, hot & cold hoagies, pasta, salads, appetizers, Coke beverages, and desserts. A children's menu is available and lunch specials on the blackboard are offered Mon-Fri until 3PM including 2 specialty pizza slices and a soft drink for $5. 20 beers on tap and wine by the glass are also offered. The prices here are moderate and the pizza prices tend to be on the higher side, starting at $12.95 for a large 16" cheese pizza and $15.99 for a Sicilian pizza. See the menu & pricing (PDF) at ramuntos.com/MENUS/ramun… While passing through Bennington, I stopped at Ramunto's Pizza for dinner takeout. The place was fairly busy on a Monday night. The place is cozy and casual which has finished picnic table seating in the front dining area and a bar section. Also noted, the other Ramunto's locations I've been to use brick ovens, while this location uses conventional pizza ovens (hence no "Brick Oven" in the name). The selection of specialty pizza slices behind the glass counter was pretty good. I decided to order 2 specialty slices (1 NY pizza slice and 1 Sicilian pizza slice) for carryout. The pizza slices were not huge and warmed up quickly in the oven and the total came out to $5.45 with tax. Both pizza slices tasted good, but definitely could've been hotter temperaturewise. The NY slice was topped with sundried tomatoes, grilled chicken, pepperoni, broccoli, red sauce, and plenty of cheese (browned on top), the crust was thicker and soft along the edge, and firm and thin towards the point. The Sicilian pizza slice was topped with green peppers, onions, ground sausage, black olives, sauce and plenty of melted cheese on top, the thick crust was crisp on the bottom and soft inside with a dry texture. Overall, the pizza slices at this location were decent and counter service was very prompt.

Very good thin crust pizza. I had a slice of Hawaiian and a slice of veggie with garlic knot crust. Both were filled with quality toppings and the veggie had caramelized onions... The garlic knot crust was a bonus with piles of minced garlic. For $5 for the two slices and a fountain drink, Ramuntos's lunch special is the best bang for your buck in town and quite delicious too.

THIS IS AN UPDATE-June 2015 I have been a regular customer at Rumuntos for a few years. I was sorry to see the original owner leave. Marie was always friendly and made her customers feel welcome. Since the place has been sold I don't know who the new owners are. I just see mostly new people. My main issue with the new owners, whoever they are, are the new prices. My husband and had dinner there on Sunday. I ordered my usual eggplant parm. and my husband ordered the chicken cutlet parm. What a disappointment. The eggplant consisted of three extremely small slices of eggplant. The chicken portion was also smaller than usual. And to make matters worse, the price has gone up over a $1.00 since they took over. Most restaurants charge less for eggplant than chicken. They can keep their garlic knots which were rubbery and oily. Rumuntos is good for one thing, that is pizza, which by the way tastes a little different than it was. It is usual practice to bus ones table in a pizza restaurant, But, when I am charged $30.00 for 2 dinners and a soda I expect service to be provided by the staff. If you want pretty good pizza go to Rumuntos, for dinners, try to find another place. THIS WAS MY FIRST REVIEW After having resided downstate NY for most of my life it was a surprise to find excellent New York style pizza in Vermont. I have traveled around the USA and Ramunto's Pizza is the closest pizza to the wonderful pizza found in NYC and Long Island. The sandwiches are also excellent. I enjoy either lunch or dinner at least once a week at this restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. I recommend this restaurant for a casual meal of truly enjoyable Italian food. The only negative is that the pizza servers pick up the pizza with their hands after handling filthy money. I only hope the pizza ovens kill the germs. The tables aren't cleaned after each customer leaves so watch where you sit.

When Ramunto's first opened their food was fantastic! I mean like you could live off their food it was so good. But as time ( a very short time) has passed the food just isn't the same. There is no consistency, one day you may get a pound of meat in a calzone and the next day a few ounces. We had cheesy bacon fries that were so burned you could not get them out of the delivery container. We ordered a "dozen" wings, which was how they use to sell them. Well no one told us they upped the price and lowered the number you get when we ordered. Their staff do NOT listen when you place your orders. I have every time asked to have extra sauce on the side and not once did I get it. It's really a shame how bad the food has gotten, this USE to be a great pizza shop. It's bad when Dominos has spanked your ass. I gave this place too many chances, won't go back.

Well.....is it a bar or a pizza place? I'm not sure. The pizza was very good considering you are three hours for NYC. The pick nick tables in side the dinning room are great if that's your kind of thing. I for one have three kids so I didn't bother me. I could see how it might through you if you are looking for something else. The bar is so overpowering!! I'm still not sure if it doubles as a local watering hole at night. It was just so in your face, and I'm not a bitch about booze. All this considered the place was really good. The only reason I'm giving it two stars was the owner. She was an probably still is a gigantic bitch!!! The list is so long... To sum it up, she was over entitled, and really had no idea what customer service was supposed to look or feel like. See if they deliver!!

My stomach is still angry from my visit to Ramuntos of Bennington last night. Heard positive reviews of this place from various sources, students at Bennington mostly, who probably have more spare money to eat out with than I do and do not mind spending a lot on food that is maybe a notch above cafeteria food. We ordered a meatball sub and an eggplant parmesan sub and then sat at the bar and ordered beers. We finished our first and, still waiting for our sandwiches, had to order a second round because we were so hungry! I got some kind of stout made by a brewery apparently located behind the brick building that houses Off the Wall Gym, which tasted like root beer made in an old boot. We were aware that the place closes at 9 on Sunday, but we thought that ordering two relatively uncomplicated sandwiches at 8:15 would not present a problem. So, we got our food at ten to 9, and while we were guzzling the rest of our second beers and eating our sandwiches the waitress came right over and asked if I wanted the sandwich that was halfway to my mouth to go. $35--see ya! Ramuntos had as much ambience as the place where you get free breakfast at a Holiday Inn. We passed Man of Kent on our way home, wishing we had not decided to try Ramuntos but had instead gone to one of our favorite places in Bennington.

Super posi vibes and great pizza with lots of variety. A little expensive (for pizza), but you definitely get what you pay for. Positive, laid back atmosphere and a great selection of beers at the bar.

Best pizza in Bennington and it's just like I remember from when I was in high school and went to their Lebanon and Quechee locations. Twenty (mostly local) beers on tap. The beer list changes from season to season, so there is often something new to try.

Best pizza and garlic knots EVER! Cinnamon knots are good as well. Loved this place. Can't wait to go back. If they wanted to open one in Rochester, NY I'd be first in line.
