Visited for breakfast at 8:30 AM on a Saturday morning. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was great, the staff was great, the food was great (and plentiful) and we even took sandwiches to go. While the atmosphere, food, and service were all approx. four Yelp stars, the sum of them when combined together do merit five Yelp stars. Especially as I have been thinking of this meal fondly ever since I had it.

Thanks to Yelp, we found this place that seemed like it was literally in the middle of nowhere (I know, Parsons, you'll forgive me). But just off the highway, across from a cool looking church and town, is a converted house that served terrific breakfast and lunch food. The whole family enjoyed dishes like the pancakes, or the croque monsieurs (with egg). Service was friendly and fairly prompt. Nothing overly fancy but this is a great place to stop if you're heading up North via I-91 or just in the area. Really glad we stopped by.

Wonderful. Stopped here this morning for an early breakfast on my way to Newport to do some cycling. Early? To me that's 7:30, but this place had been open for a couple of hours already! That tells me it's a standard breakfast hangout for local folks, not just tourists. Gigi behind the counter was very friendly, humorous and laid-back, and the vibe at the counter (there is no table seating that I recall seeing) was warm, welcoming and casual. My breakfast (French toast, hash, OJ and coffee) was delicious diner fare. Serving size was adequate (2 slices of bread in the Fr. T.); so if you're used to roadside diners that overstuff you, you might be disappointed. I'm a big fan of corned beef hash, and this was well above average - it had a nice tangy bit of onion topped off by a noticeable herbal flavor provided by fresh parsley. Good eats yes, but overall I'm loving Parson's Corner for the friendly, welcoming, homey ambiance. I wished I lived in Barton so it could become part of my daily routine!

This is an overachieving awesome spot. The food is high quality fresh & delicious. We stopped on a road trip and were happy to have the "breakfast all day" and lunch options. Burgers, omelettes and desserts were five star. The burger is angus meat from a local farm. The special omelette of the day was asparagus, goat cheese & smoked salmon. Delicious.

Breakfast is cooked to order so I looked forward to a delicious meal. Unfortunately, my order of French toast and bacon turned out subpar in quality. The French toast was made with thin cheap white bread. The egg dip wasn't done right resulting in having basically egg white stuck on dry bread. It also was not browned. The flavor wasn't right. Butter on top was fresh and was real butter. Real maple syrup was blah, to light in flavor, possibly low grade. My bacon was rubbery instead of crisp and tasted salty greasy. Cost was cheap, but I would prefer to pay more for better food. There was only one cook and he was very busy, which was probably one reason the food wasn't that great.

To whom it may concern, this restaurant has been recently purchased by a young guy who has worked in the kitchen for years. He has plans to update the place... keeping plenty of the tried and true classics of Parson's but also doing things with a more sustainable approach (less SYSCO truck, more locally sourced ingredients and seasonal harmony) . Anyway, I think this place is A-Ok. The coffee was just right! A lot of their items are homemade! I enjoyed the grilled carrot-raisin muffin made with a touch of whole wheat flour, served with good Cabot butter and regular strawberry jam. Coming from the West Coast I was absolutely floored when the bill for a 3 person breakfast came to $16.50!! Granted all I had was a $1.85 muffin and coffee. The other two both went for the hearty homemade corned beef and hash with eggs and toast. Parson's is truly a NEK gem. I love that the place opens bright and early at 5 am...we got there at 6:30. I liked the kinda ugly coral painted benches that contrasted brightly with the beautiful blue cupboard. It's just a little too beachy for the NEK! I also will always remember the woman who sat across the room from me and how she requested her toast to be made to her likenings... "BURN IT!!" When the waitress set her plate down the right way (like this waitress has been doing it morning after morning...) the woman lifted the toast into her mouth and had a foodgasm. I think stay away from the pricey pancakes and french toast and you'll be pleased. Who eats buttered flour covered with sugar syrup first thing in the morning anyway? Every diner knows that pancakes are a cash crop.

This food is prepared with care! The home fries are the best around because the chef-owner knows that patience pays off, and he'll have 'em ready for you with little wait. Don't miss this spot if you're near Barton.

Best cheeseburger I have had in years! Stopped here with the family while on a road trip along I-91. Its a small place tucked into an old house 2-3 minutes from the highway. It does not look like much from the outside and has a strange layout inside. Basic comfort food, breakfast and lunch only menu But who cares, the food was fantastic!. All three of my young kids loved their meals (a rare event) and that Angus burger was phenomenal. Fries were great, french toast was great, salad was good, soup was good. A hidden gem, would definitely recommend it for breakfast or lunch.

Excellent, excellent, excellent... The blueberry pancakes are the best. With a side of ham, nothing better. They use only local REAL syrup, AND don't charge extra for it as a lot of places do. I have been going there for quite a number of years, and have never had a bad meal. It is the best in the area, so on a Sunday mid morning, there may be a bit of a wait, but worth it. (I'm usually in there at about 6 or 7 am, so never a wait... ;) )

I've been going here since Crazy Eddie opened this place! It's the best food you're going to get in the area with reasonable prices. Obviously breakfast is probably the most popular. Just think of any breakfast food you like and come here and order it and it will be wonderful! Don't forget to add a side of fresh country ham while you're at it! To address Kelly K below - I was actually at Parsons just days after she posted her review last year. If she didn't like something or it was not to her taste - all she had to do was to tell Eddie and he would have recooked it up for her. And yes - he has been the only cook for breakfast since I've been going here - so that actually wasn't unusual. He works his butt off! As for the maple syrup - I'm originally from Vermont - I'm an absolute snob when it comes to maple syrup. If the maple syrup is very light in color and very light in flavor - that actually means it's a higher grade! I'm pretty positive that Eddie doesn't serve the Fancy grade of maple syrup (because that often is too light for those used to imitation syrups - though it is considered the highest quality). I think he serves the Medium Grade A amber which is still going to be mild in flavor and just a tad darker. The bottom line is - the lighter the flavor the higher the quality not vice versa.
