This is a great little place when you're looking for something informal and fast. If you have more than four in your party, there's only one table you'll fit at together, otherwise you'll need to split up. The pancake list has lots of variety and is sure to please even the pickiest child. Everything is very affordable. Don't expect a fine dining experience, it's a diner after all. The waitresses are often yelling across the restaurant to each other or to customers. However, they'll also remember you when you come back, and if you're a regular, they'll even remember your order.
This price is cheap, the staff are friendly, and the food was delicious! I would recommend for anyone in the area who wants brunch. They offer a wide variety of breakfast options so it's sure to please the whole group.
first meal at the diner....great breakfast and service. Homefries...poached eggs....sausage...all tasty. Waitresses friendly and efficient..

You can't go wrong here!!! Went there Sat. night, called ahead for a table, which was a good idea. Got seated immediately. The food is incredible, my daughter had Lobster Mac & Cheese, husband had scallops, and I had the crab cakes. Everything was fantastic, BUT the icing on the cake is DO NOT LEAVE without having the Peanut Butter Parfait!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's like dying and going to heaven and returning for a second trip!!!! Highly recommend it, do leave without it, if you are full, take it to go!
Amazing. I've never had anything disappointing here. Fish n chips (best tartar sauce ever!), calamari, swordfish tacos, salads, pork burgers - all are great. I highly recommend visiting on a Tuesday night when you can get $5 house or black bean burgers (my favorite) along w their hand cut fries. Citizen Cider on tap sweetens the deal, along with a long list of draft beers. The desert jars made by the local culinary program are delectable as well.
Ate there on a Thursday evening, party of four. The good: My brother's duck burger was excellent, my husband's fish and chips was very good (fries excellent) and massive portion, my sister's salad was delicious. My scallops were delectable. Scallops cooked perfectly, with a nice browning outside and buttery tender inside, on a bed of light citrusy risotto. Cooking scallops perfectly must not be easy, because it doesn't happen often. I'd go again just for that. The rest: Our waitress was a little brusque but competent. My first glass of water smelled faintly of bleach, and we did have to ask several times to get a replacement. It was busy, but still. The replacement was fine, no off smells or tastes. Noise levels not bad. Plenty of elbow room between tables. Nice woodsy pub decor.

Never judge a book by Its cover. When my guy pulled in the parking lot , I was like, I dont think so! Looked like a little dive from the outside. I decided stop being such a snob and went inside, very clean and cute. Good menu. I got the chicken pesto sandwich on foccacis roll. OMG AMAZING,!!!!!! Perfection. Chicken was tender. Tomato mustve been fresh picked . Perfectly melted mozzarella cheese. I'm salivating reliving this meal. Came with a crisp pickle and a generous serving of chips. The food was so good, I went back the next day for lunch and got same dish. Then again for dinner for the pizza. Pizza was also good, steak tip salad was amazing. This cook either owns the place or got tired of working in restaurants. His food is just too good to not have a serious vested interest! The waitress was fantastic, she was friendly, and very knowledgeable on the menu. She was as personable to us mass newbies as she was to the regulars. You can tell she loves her job. There was a different waitress the next day who was also as nice. She remembered me at dinner, from being there earlier. The takeout is carefully packaged to keep what needs to be crisp, crisp. All in all this place is 5 star. I can't wait to go back!! Sooo glad I gave them a chance!
Stopped to get takeout to bring to Thunder Road. Steak bomb special was good, but not as good as the rustic chicken on focaccia which was FANTASTIC! Highly recommended.
Yes it looks like a dump, a dive, seedy...but if you can get past the decor, you'll be treated to excellent food served by a perky waitress. Or, skip the decor and get your food to go, or delivered. We had a delicious meatball pizza and an excellent Greek salad. Not bad for a strip mall dive! Very reasonable prices too. If you're hungry for a good New York style pizza, you can't go wrong with Basil's.

I have been here many times and have never been disappointed by the experience. The staff is always extremely friendly and service is fairly quick. Then there's the food. Everything from pizza to pasta has been downright delicious and if you are looking for a perfect dessert, their cheesecake is to die for! The atmosphere is comfortable, the prices are reasonable, and its a great place to take people for a taste of Vermont!
1. This restaurant has a cool, modern vibe. 2. Food portions are large enough. 3. Noisy environment. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with bacon. Tasty and enjoyable. It came with a huge serving of french fries... (more than I was willing to eat). Overall, I was surprised and impressed with the cool vibe of the place. You will get a quality meal at Positive Pie. Though be prepared to have poor quality conversations. Nothing absorbs the noise here. The sound waves bounce off of everything. So hearing what your guest(s) are saying will be a struggle. It's a cool place, though.
I was worried when we got yet another pizza place in town. Positive Pie is so much more! Nothing here has been a disappointment yet. The fried Brussel sprouts are amazing. The granite chicken is juicier than I thought a chunk of chicken could ever be. I love the black bean burgers (with a cilantro pesto) and hand cut fries. If you sign up for their specials via text message you'll get about a message every week, usually w some sort of pizza special that will save you a ton. The first one I got was $15 for three pizzas ($52 original price!). Despite it being yet another pizza place, the pizza here is actually really good. Thin but chewy crust, New York style. They have an interesting variety of specialty pizzas too. Each night there is a different special too. Monday is 1/2 price kids meals, making them $3.50. The kids pizzas are huge!!

We got the cashew chicken, beef broccoli and vegetable fried rice. It was wonderful! The portions were huge- one would have been more than enough for the two of us. It was busy, but didn't take long to wait for it to go. The restaurant is small- only 4 tables- so I would recommend takeout. It was very popular for a Wednesday night, so people must like it!
The generals chicken was good, and the chicken with broccoli was OK but everything else we had was way too sweet. I have never had sweet shrimp lo mein before and I hope to never have it again. We have had Chinese food in about 40 other States and this was one of the lower ranking.
I'm giving this five stars not because it is the most amazing Chinese food ever, but it is the best take out Chinese food I've had so far in Vermont. The places in Waterbury have been disappointing, and House of Tang in Montpelier is over-rated. It isn't gourmet, but it is good: anything fried is crispy and not greasy, the sauces have a lot of flavor, and things taste fresh. It is definitely going to be our go-to Chinese take out place. Only way it could get better is if they offered delivery!

Half lost and on our way back to Stanstead, Quebec, Canada, we found this place by accident. A local resident had recommended a sub place on main street, but we saw a sign for burritos on the way up. We were't expecting something delicious, but hadn't had much luck finding other food in the area after a busy day. We were impressed! Two Loco Guys is a delicious and fun little place. Between our large family (2 cars full), we all tried something different and loved it. Food was ready quickly (made in front of us) and tasted fresh. Service was friendly, and helped us get un-lost after! Happy for a good and healthy fast-food dinner experience.
Just discovered this place. Nice location. Good food. Smiling faces. Kind servers. Great food for the price. 10/10 would eat here again. The service was professional.
Always the best. I get the Southern bowl with chicken every time I go. The portion sizes are perfect. And the ratio of ingredients is right on. My most favorite thing to eat, ever!

Good atmosphere. Burger was great. Wish the chicken tenders were beer battered instead of breaded. Fried tender and popper breading was way overdone, while the inside was perfectly cooked. French onion soup had rye bread croutons, which I thought gave it a unique flavor I did not enjoy and whatever cheese there was melted and sank before it browned and was masked by the caraway seeds from the bread. I would go back for another burger.
This place is quite unique. An old firehouse made into a restaurant.. The decor is true to form, and it's fun to look at historical fire department pictures while dining. The 12" pizza and sweet potato fries were enough for me and my boyfriend, and the waitresses were very friendly. The wood-fire oven style really made this worth the stop! My only tip is to make sure you know where the park. Their parking is located in the back, and as a tourist in the area it was a little unsettling not knowing where to go. But definitely recommend for a chill environment with wonderful food!
This is our go-to for dinner out. The atmosphere is beautiful, and there is live music on Thursdays. In the summer, there are three patio areas as well. Most of the staff are wonderful and very friendly. I've yet to order anything I didn't like. My recommendations are fried pickles, roast beef quesadilla w homemade horseradish ranch, or the roast beef sandwich. I've also heard rave reviews about the burgers. Kids meals come w a cup of Hood ice cream or an ice cream sandwich (if you get the super awesome wait-staff, they'll even put it on a plate w chocolate/caramel sauce and whipped cream!) There's an extensive gluten free section, but it's pricey. The one area of disappointment for me is their desserts. Nothing is made in house and all taste like they come frozen and full of preservatives.

Ok Service, So,So, Coffee....As Most Restaraunts BUT VERY PLAIN, DRY PANCAKES,....Yuk !!! Been Telling Them This For YEARS on Our VISITS UP Here in Barre...But No Changes to Improve Them,...Really Too Bad !! BEST PANCAKES ( Blueberry ) Are to Be Found @ "Mariners Grill" in Downtown Camden, Maine !!!!!, Sooooo Delicious !!!!
This place is great. It is welcoming and has the only salad bar in all of Barre. I had the reuben sandwich with fries and a side cup of clam chowder. My spoon didn't stand up straight on its own, but the chowdah was still really good. The rueben was good...solid sandwich and the fries were really good also. It had been raining and cold the day I went, so anything hot and comforting would have made me happy, but I've never been disappointed by this place.
I've just been a couple of times. Hot roast beef sandwich with fries and gravy everywhere. absolute heaven, I'd rate this over the hot turkey sandwich. The service was outstanding the second time I went, good on the first. They were both friendly and I really felt at home here. Hot Roast Beef Sandwich.....just thinking about creates an uncontrollable urge to go back, but it's 10pm and surely they are closed by now.

This bakery is under relatively new management/ownership, but the new owner is NOT new to the business. As a NECI trained chef, Tim is taking Delicate Decadence to a whole new level, offering family style take out meals on Wednesday evenings. With a price of about $20-26 for a meal for four people (generous portions, often w leftovers), it's easier to justify taking a night off from cooking. We have had (so far) pulled pork sandwiches on the most amazing fresh rolls; enchiladas with beans and rice; lemon chicken on jasmine rice w steamed beans and carrots; chicken piccata w beans and carrots; fajitas; Shepard's pie; meatloaf (best ever!!). My children rarely agree on a meal, but they have loved everything from here so far! From the bakery side of things, I recommend the tiramisu, the millionaire bars (shortbread, caramel, chocolate), the salted caramel bars, and the chocolate fudge.
We came here to order a cake for my parent's renewal ceremony and it was awful from start to finish. We arrived for a consultation and received a very cold welcome until they realized we were on their schedule, after which we were rushed through the process because the woman had "things to make for someone else". When the cake was delivered to us, the woman drove across the lawn and left the cake without so much as asking where it needed to be placed. The cake itself wasn't even close to what we ordered. What should have been a 3 layer cake of chocolate, white, and red velvet was all chocolate and instead of buttercream icing, we received fondant; something none of use could stand to eat. Not to mention it was covered in pink when we asked for no color at all. As I said, the experience was awful straight through and we won't be going back.
After employee grabbed my cash he proceeded to touch my bagel without applying gloves or washing hands.

We wanted to go to Cornerstone, but they were closed and we were hungry. This seemed like one of the only places around that was open. It's certainly not bad. They were out of chicken wings so we opted for the "boneless" wings. It's been a long time since I've had boneless wings so I can't compare them in my head to anything. I felt like they were probably bought at Costco and tossed in a reasonably good buffalo sauce. The portion was generous though. The pizza we had was not horrible. It lacked character, but it was a safe palatable affair. The crust was thick, light and bready. Think Pizza Hut, if only it weren't soaked in grease. The sauce was sort of bland, but there were plenty of toppings on the pizza. The guy working seemed friendly enough. It's not going to be my first choice to go to if I'm ever in Barre again, but I certainly wouldn't avoid it if nothing else is open.
Stopped for few burgers and a beer. Ordered a Medium and Medium Rare Burger. Both came out, after a 20 minute wait, well done. I sent mine back my wife are hers. Very dry. Another 25 minutes and we wave the waiter over from the bar where he's flirting with a customer. He says I'm sorry it's not ready yet do you want it to go. I said yes and if it's been cooking for 25 minutes it's not going to be medium rare. Of course I checked it before we left. Burnt this time and very well done!!! Never going back there again!!!
Mr Zs is an OK place to eat. Their prices are alright for the barre area. Pizza is not so great but their chicken tenders are good.
