Honey Butter's Kitchen shares the top spot on my "favorite diners" list with a competitor on the other side of town. I live on the HBK side of town though, so I spend a lot of my diner money here. It's simply a wonderful place to eat because it's clean, it's simple, it has great service, the food is delicious, and it's relatively inexpensive. First of all, the place is clean and neat. I've never seen dirty silverware or a dirty plate here. The tables are bussed promptly and wiped down immediately. The floor is kept clean and the decor is pleasant. It might be a little dark in there sometimes, but that's not a big deal. HBK offers simple food. It has a nice selection of sandwiches, including really good burgers and the best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had. It has some great entrees such as roast turkey, meatloaf, and BBQ pork. The breakfast food selections are all there - eggs, omelettes, waffles, pancakes, corncakes, french toast, etc. And nothing is fancied up beyond recognition. No one is trying to pull off eggs benedict or beef wellington here. They know what they're doing with everything they do. The service is really strong at HBK. I have liked each of the five different servers I remember interacting with there. The staff is pleasant, polite, and quick to help. As a bonus, most of them have had jovial personalities that, for me, make a meal even more enjoyable. Most importantly, the food is really good. My food has always been cooked perfectly and served at the right temperature. There are some real highlights on the menu too. At breakfast time, the corncakes with honey butter are delicious. The burgers are quite good, and they offer a "half-price burger night" on Wednesday, I believe. The thing I want to crow about most is the buffalo chicken sandwich. It is, without a doubt, my absolute favorite item on the menu. First of all, the pieces of chicken they select are some of the largest ones I've ever seen on a sandwich, and they cook them perfectly despite the high risk of overcooking a thick piece of chicken. The sauce is a glorious mixture of sweet and spicy, with the taste of a sweet buffalo sauce but the texture of something you might find on General Tso's chicken. It's perfect. I heartily recommend the sweet potato hash or the macaroni and cheese as sides. For dinner, the lovely Kayt and I walk out of there for about $30 including the tip. For breakfast, it's about $25 including the tip. I always feel like I got excellent value for what I spend there. I definitely recommend Honey Butter's Kitchen to anyone visiting from out of town who wants to enjoy solid American food with a Southern flare. It's pretty hard to beat this place without spending a lot more money.

Oh mama...anyplace I can get shrimp and grits for breakfast is the place for me. This place does them amazing! And for such a cheap price, you get a lot of shrimp on top of cheesy grits. They were seriously way better than anything I've had in northern Virginia. I'm not used to getting so much food for so little money. I couldn't finish the eggs and biscuit that came with it. We also got a side of corn cakes which were way worth getting if you're a corn bread lover like me. The cake was delicious and crumbly and paired perfectly with the honey butter. If you come on a Sunday morning, expect to wait for your food. I feel like food is well worth the wait though. We saw a family walk out and all their delicious breakfast was wasted so definitely make sure to stay. Will definitely come back when I visit so I can fall into that glorious food coma again.

Honey Butter's Kitchen is hands down one of the best places to eat breakfast at in Williamsburg. The last time I was vacationing in VA, I ate here twice. I hadn't been back in at least two years, but I was lucky enough to be in the area this past week. I'm from NJ, so diners are the norm. Garlic potatoes are spot on and the chicken livers are so tasty. My mom had the corn cakes. They are so flavorful! They have a variety of breakfast staples as well. Pricing is reasonable. Honey Butters is located in a strip mall, tucked away from the touristy stretch of Williamsburg where pancake houses are a dime a dozen. This place is simply the best and hopefully I'll be eating here again next summer.

Words can not describe this level of deliciousness! With all the breakfast places Williamsburg Va. have to offer you really have to do something to stand out. Well this place stands UP and stands OUT with the food they place before you. My wife swears by the shrimp and grits! I love it ALL!!!!!!!

OMG! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR Best southern breakfast in town hands down. Service is awesome.

  • Nathan P.

Food is better than expected. Probably because the menu is so boring to read. My buffalo chicken sandwich was actually done in a sweet and spicy buffalo sauce, no mention of that on the menu. Service is the only reason it's not a 5. Our greeting was blunt and cold, like we owed her our order before she even introduced herself. By the way she never told us her name. The service wouldn't fly in a top notch restaurant. Funny if this place had slightly better service and a much better looking menu it would be 5 stars.

  • Travis P.

The service is great, the portions are huge, and the environment is great. While waiting for my oil change to be done I went over with my son to have some breakfast. We had our drinks immediately which is nice. I ordered the 2 eggs, bacon, garlic potatoes, and toast meal. Everything was cooked perfectly. I ordered over medium eggs and actually got runny yolks with cooked whites, which shouldn't be so hard but in most places it is. I will warn you, the garlic potatoes are definitely garlic laden, so bring some gum if you want to have a conversation haha. Again this was a great experience with great food.

Great service, delicious food, big portions, low prices! We were there in a group of 5, lots of different items ordered. The shrimp and grits were a wonderful rich buttery flavor, included around 8 shrimp, well prepared. I wasn't as hungry, got a side salad and split a pecan bread pudding with ice cream - both excellent. We would have gone back the next day, but closed Sunday evening and Mondays. Went back with another group of five friends a few days later, got the chicken livers, also delicious, same excellent service, menu with good variety of southern style dishes, and looking forward to trying more! Highly recommended!

Great mom and pop joint. Basic American food menu. If you like Five Forks Diner then you'll like this place. I've had breakfast and dinner here and don't have too many complaints.

  • Jen D.

Delicious breakfast. We had the banana pancake, biscuits and gray, corn cakes and the special. Everything was awesome and the service was even better! We will definitely be back.

Awesome shrimp and grits! Husband says "burger was cooked to order, greasy as hell and one of the best I've had!"

This is more of a 3 1/2 star rounded up to 4 review. Surprising diner feel right in the heart of a strip mall. The place is spotless and the service was good although it took a long time for our food to arrive. The food was decent breakfast fare with a decided southern twist. There is also a lunch menu although we were primarily looking for breakfast. The menu is fairly simple with a few "unusual" items for a northerner like myself: chicken livers and shrimp and grits. This was a definite plus for me! I had the breakfast sandwich on a deliciously hearty sourdough along with the corn cakes. Corn cakes were very good - I would not put them in the "amazing" category as some reviewers have, but a solid choice. Others in my dining party tried the pancakes which were decent, the blueberry in particular. We tried the corned beef hash which appeared to be out of a can, which I love, but hardly original. My husband had a burger that was overlooked but edible. He reported the garlic potatoes were delicious. I'd be happy to return.

  • Matt D.

Really impressed with the food except for the small, curly hair in my son's eggs. My omelette with basil, tomato, mozzarella, and bacon was great. Shrimp and grits is awesome. Cockroaches in the dirty foyer is not so good. Service (Stacy) was very good.

    (3)
  • Kristina C.

I eat here all the time! They have the best grits in town and their pancakes are delicious. Awesome service, always make you feel like youre at home.

  • Kim G.

I have heard very good things about Honey Butter's Kitchen. In fact, I had been recommended to try out their salads. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Caesar Salad to go. It was affordable and very tasty. In fact, if my review were based on food alone they would receive 5 stars. There are two reasons why Honey Butter's Kitchen did not receive 5 stars from me. Even though my order was to go, the customer service I received upon entering and while waiting for my food was not the best. As one of the servers handed me my bag she asked if I needed utensils. I said yes and when I got home I noticed that there were none. The last reason why my visit didn't warrant 5 stars is because I saw cooks eating in the kitchen - while preparing food. Great salad - not so good service - curious about cleanliness.

  • Nikole S.

Holy cow! What an amazing place!! Diner atmosphere in as strip mall. The food is amazing. Shrimp and grits were to die for as well as the corned beef hash. They also have bloody Mary's and mimosas on weekends!

    (5)
  • Jonathan L.

We had breakfast and the food was good. The service was slow so I only rated a 3. If you have at least an hour to eat then this is your place for breakfast.

    (3)
  • Katie G.

I have only been for breakfast/brunch, but it is delicious!! Get the corn cakes with honey butter (unique and awesome) and the fried garlic potatoes (they are pretty garlic-y but very good and crispy). This place can get crowded with locals on the weekend so you may have to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth it!

  • Scott T.

We decided to go here based on the good reviews online, for some good classic american cuisine. We came here for lunch on a Thursday, and we were happy with the food, but not happy with the speed of service. We waited over 45 minutes from the time we ordered food to receiving it. Maybe they had to peel and cook our potatoes individually... I got the Fried Catfish hotplate, served with the mashed potatoes & gravy and the hushpuppies. My wife had the breakfast plate with the garlic fried potatoes. The portions were very generous, and I was very happy with some of the best hushpuppies I've had in a long time. The garlic fried potatoes my wife had were also fantastic. Overall, really happy with the food. This place would have gotten 5 stars from me if it wasn't for how slow the service was for just the two of us.

  • Beverly I G.

My hubby ordered eggs corn-dust, potatoes and Turkey sausage. Only bad thing on his dish was the corn bread it was really dry . I ordered eggs, sausage and biscuit was our first time here so was playing it safe. Service is fast .

    (4)
  • Jessica W.

This place gives you a great amount of food for the price and it is delicious. The eggs were a little flat which is the only reason it got four stars. But the fried chicken livers were great (one of the only places I've seen these). The corn bread was also great and everyone at the table loved their food.

    (4)
  • Tina F.

Always delicious! The corn cakes are a must have for breakfast. It's probably their most unique dish and always melts in your mouth.

    (4)
  • Scott L.

Absolutely amazing ... My wife and I were skeptical at first because it looked like chain type place ( not so diner like that we are use to ) but oh man oh man the food was amazing ... I had French toast and the wife had a omlet and neither of us were disappointed ... The home fries were awesome and the cornbread was fantastic ...

    (5)
  • Anna J.

I love eating here! I always come and get a corned beef Reuben. On my most recent visit, we were waited on by Rachel and she was an absolute delight. She is so sweet and attentive, I would definitely recommend requesting to sit in her section. The portions are size able, so I always have leftovers for lunch 2.0! The corned beef Reuben, monte cristo, pancakes and corned beef hash are all delicious. Come give it a try if you're in the area!!

  • Michelle L.

Delicious food, great prices, excellent service. Friends got Shrimp and Grits, I got the BBQ with mac and cheese on the side. The pecan bread pudding was worth every calorie. Thank you Yelp for helping me find a great local place to eat while on vacation. Everyone here is home made, down to the salad dressings.

    (5)
  • Justin P.

Food was fantastic as always. I got the patty melt and it was delicious ! The patty was thick unlike a majority of the patty melts I've had around here. Mashed potatoes are to die for! I wish they were open on monday! If you are getting dinner I would suggest the country fried chicken, rock fish, or oven roasted turkey.

    (5)
  • Caryn S.

Unassuming place -- but don't let that fool you. The food was amazing. I ordered the chicken livers and collards and they are by far the best ones I have ever had. My children loved their burgers. Everything is fresh - nothing is premed and we will definitely be back to try their lunch and breakfast menus. Staff was very friendly!

    (5)
  • W T.

Very tasty, the corn cakes are great! My egg, bacon and corn cake combo is a good price performance option. My wife got the same thing. The pancakes were good too my son ate them all. We tried to go back but they were closed on Monday. We will do again though

  • Lynn R.

This place was awesome. I went on a Sunday morning before going to the theme park. I wanted to go back the next day, but they are closed on Mondays. My boyfriend ordered waffles and pancakes and I ordered the Bacon, Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella omelette. Both orders were great and the honey butter was fantastic. Normally omelletes are underwhelming for me, but I actually liked mine! I wish I could have tried their dinner menu, b/c everything looked delicious. Service was ridiculous good - beyond normal good. I tipped her like 50%. A must try for anyone visiting Williamsburg!

    (5)
  • Rachel G.

Can't speak for the service since we got take-out, but the food was incredible and worth every penny, and it was ready before I got there! I had the steak salad. The steak was cooked just the way I wanted it, and the blend of flavors...just so good. I don't normally rave about salads, but this one was worth it. All the rest of the food that my friends got smelled amazing, and nobody had any complaints! Definitely want to come in for paleo breakfast one weekend :)

Visiting for vacation in the area with my husband and 16 year old son. Read the reviews on Yelp and decided to try it out Saturday night for dinner. It is diner style and sat in a booth. We had the half of chicken dinner, St. Louis ribs and Shredded bbq. Every meal was perfect, tasty and plentiful. Total bill with two beers and 3 meals came to $50. I would recommend this restaurant and hope to return.

  • Stan Y.

Think dinner and you get what you expect. We went around Sunday Brunch time - they were busy, so we sat at the full service bar and just ordered food. Service was fine. The omelets were fine. Bacon was requested 'crispy', but came regular. (Such is life)

    (3)
  • Tom G.

One of the best local restaurants in the area! A good home style meal with large portions and good flavor. Service was attentive and helpful. Reasonable prices.

Stopped in after going to Go Ape on a Sunday afternoon. Great staff, easygoing, friendly spot. Garlic potatoes and hush puppies were great. Would go back.

  • S H.

Very friendly service- think unpretentious southern hospitality. The corn cakes are my favorite breakfast item- unlike any other pancake you'll find in this city of many pancake houses. A great spot to sit and chat with friends over coffee. Also a good place to bring kids and still have a sit-down meal.

    (4)
  • Keira N.

Amazing food! The decor was nice, service was incredibly fast, and the food was delicious. My family and I were visiting Williamsburg from all over the country and wanted some real southern cooking - and we found this place to be perfect for that! We even joked about flying back some day just for this restaurant. I only give it four stars because the waitress could have been less terse. She wasn't unfriendly, but she was very lukewarm in demeanor.

    (4)
  • Bonnie B.

Honestly, this place is great. I've eaten here multiple times with family and friends and haven't been disappointed. The biscuits and gravy for breakfast, gumbo for dinner, etc. all hit the spot. Most recently, I had the pot roast and it was on point! I ate the entire bowl and sopped up the juices with the roll. Then I shared a piece of their apple pie, which doesn't look super special, but tastes SO good. I got comments on how fast I ate my dinner, but I really didn't care. This place is definitely local, down-to-earth, no frills and the food is done well.

    (5)
  • Ray J.

The food was ok here, but nothing exceptional. What earned the 1 star review was the slow service and waitress that seemed like she couldn't really care less about her job. I'm guessing this is one of those places that caters to the locals as everyone sitting around us, clearly locals, came in after we did and got their food well before we did. We are clearly not locals as evidenced by the tourism magazine we were flipping through. What a terrible way to run a restaurant, especially in an area filled with folks vacationing, and with the vast amount of online reviews. We ate a few days earlier at Victoria's, and wow what a pleasant experience there. Fresh, homemade food, super friendly staff, and an almost instant delivery of food. I wouldn't even consider Honey Butter again.

    (1)
  • Jesse F.

Two thumbs way, way up! If you want great comfort food after your visit to Colonial Williamsburg, come to this place and pick just about anything off the menu; you won't be disappointed. For dessert, I highly recommend the bread pudding.

  • Brittany S.

Doesn't seem like much from the outside, such a hidden gem. Love it! My favorite thing is the garlic fried potatoes.

    (4)
  • Michael S.

If there's no other reason to go, then go for the shrimp and grits. Wow! The seasoning was perfect, and the grits were cooked perfectly. Honey Butter is located in a shopping center/mall, but still has that local friendly feel to it. The service was great as were both of our breakfasts. Definitely a recommend!

    (4)
  • Bob N.

Super yummy breakfast place and the wait staff were very friendly / on top of it! I would suggest getting the corn cakes (if you really like cornbread). I'm definitely going to have to try lunch and dinner. It gets crowded in the mornings on the weekends, so go early.

    (4)
  • Sharon O.

When reviewing a restaurant, it's helpful to keep in mind what kind of establishment it is, and the price range. Other reviewers don't seem to be taking this into account. Honey Butter's is a locals diner, good food, good portions, at a reasonable price. The service is friendly and they have good beer on tap too! They have some killer lunch specials that are a far better deal than any fast food chain.

We tried to go here for lunch today. We wanted a nice family atmosphere. After 24 minutes without ordering we decided to head out.

I am in Williamsburg for vacation and my family and I stumbled in for a late dinner. I got the chicken fingers and fries. I took a bite and OMG they were so good! The fries had an awesome seasoning. And the service was INCREDIBLE. Our server was so nice to us. I spilled my drink on accident while we were talking to him and he rushed over to help clean the mess up. I would definitely recommend Honey Butter's kitchen

    (5)
  • Brian D.

We are in Williamsburg for vacation and stumbled onto Honey Butter's for a late dinner. The food and service was fantastic, especially for the price range. My fried chicken breast dinner was very good, and my wife (a very picky eater) loved her shrimp and grits. Both kids raved about their kids meals, which did look pretty tasty! The portions were very, very generous. In typical southern tradition, you won't leave hungry. Our server, Jacob, was extremely friendly and attentive. Definitely the best service we have encountered at any restaurant in quite a while. This is on our "repeat" list before head out of town.

The food is excellent with a lot of flavor and customer service is exceptional. I'm happy with staff members and nice for family and friends

  • Joe S.

We were looking for a non-chain breakfast diner not too far off course from our way home. These guys hit the spot with good coffee, nicely cooked eggs, and a no frills menu. I could have used a little more creativity with some of the breakfast items. I guess ive eaten Match Box brunch too many times.

    (3)
  • Nikki P.

Beef brisket and mac 'n cheese are tops. And don't get me started about the bread pudding. The only problem is that I think I ate 5000 calories for dinner. Love it!

The food and the service was great. The prices are reasonable. Thanks Michelle!!!!!!

I was visiting down for the weekend and I wanted to try something that's a little less chain restaurant and a little more home cooking. So I decide that I would try this place out. The "honey" part of the name just got to me. Any restaurant that's named honey, so far, has been delicious! (*knock on wood) Based on the suggestion of our waiter, I tried their House pork BBQ and corn bread with the side of mac and cheese and fries. My boyfriend got the home style pot roast. And all I can say is... Oh dear god this place is delicious. I wasn't feeling bbq food at first, but as soon as I took a bite of my food, my stomach was so happy, the butterflies in it was doing cartwheels. It is just so flavorful, tender and juicy. Definitely that home style cooking I was looking for. My boyfriend's food was delicious as well. But I was too busy scarfing down my food to steal his food :( . I was super stuffed, but could NOT miss out on dessert. I couldn't remember the exact name but it has to do with coconut pie. So so so delicious. So glad I didn't miss out on it!!! Plus their service was decent and quick. I only wish they had one closer to where I am so I can frequent this place. But alas, until next time!

Great service, bang for your buck food, cute diner feel. Highlights were the triple pork omelet, breakfast sandwich and the pancakes.

We had Shelly as our waitress this morning as we sat on the patio. Super friendly and professional. The food was awesome too-my friend got the French toast and eggs and I got the corn cakes and eggs. We genuinely enjoyed having Shelly as our waitress and she also gave us good suggestions for places to go tonight. Definitely come here and ask for Shelly! :)

  • Leslie D.

Ate here last night based on Yelp reviews. Service was great. Food was seasoned well and tasty, however, for us, the portions were small in relation to the pricing. Dtr ordered the fried chicken breast meal and got one medium sized (at best) boneless chicken breast which after cutting amounted to perhaps eight bite sized pieces. (pieces were cut into the approx the size of nuggets from Chick-fil-a) for $10.99. Granted, her meal came with 2 sides which were decently sized, but given the size of the chicken breast, 2 pieces would have been more in proportion. She was still hungry after finishing her meal. Hubby's meal was about 6 mini oysters and a small bowl of peas. Not enough to fill anyone's tummy. Thank goodness he also ordered a small salad which was a good size or he would have also left hungry. My chopped BBQ sandwich, however, was more than enough for me as it came on a kaiser roll and had a good amount of meat. My side of greens was adequate as well. We split the apple pie with ice cream and that was large enough for all three of us. Bottom line for us, order salads and sandwiches, not meals.

This place is SOO GOOD! Their Turkey dinner with Mac n Cheese is the BOMB!!! They also have AWESOME SWEET TEA!

  • Tom A.

The brunch here is as good as it gets. Traditional southern fare will good ingredients prepared well every single time. Kitchen is prompt, coffee cup is never empty. Come in three times and the staff will know your name. Hey and the dinner isn't bad either. Stick with the southern options and you wont be disappointed.

  • Jennifer K.

It's more of a 2.5 I guess because my cousins hummus plate looked pretty good. I had a monte crisco and it just didnt measure up. Was hoping to get breakfast food but at 3:05 it was a no-go (cut off was at three). And so it goes...

  • Jenn B.

Great home-cooking, everything is made from scratch. I ordered the beef brisket and fried okra, and oh lordy it was delightful and satisfying. Our waitress was really sweet, too. Also, the seasoning on the fries is great. So if you have a craving for diner food, this is a great place to go.

  • Mickie D.

Went there on a Sunday morning. and it was pretty busy. Was seated quickly. Food was mediocre and a bit over priced. Had the corned beef hash and wasnt very flavorful. Could use some seasoning on everything. Service was transactional and slow.

  • Matthew L.

This is a great spot for breakfast. Like the name of the restaurant, the house specialty is a honey butter. I recommend ordering the corn bread, which compliments it perfectly. A couple of other favorites are the corn beef hash. You have to see it to believe it. You're cardiologist will hate you, but you will love it. I also am a huge fan of the shrimp an grits. They are large grain grits, almost the consistency of mashed potatoes. This is combined with large shrimp in a delicious sauce. Fair prices. I will have to give dinner a try sometime.

  • Carol T.

Food was delicious, homemade and abundant. Love the coconut pie.

Best Reuben in town!! Love the Chesapeake Fries!!! Everything is FRESH and NOT FROZEN!! A real gem and hidden treasure in Williamsburg.

    (5)
  • Kelly B.

The corn cakes were light and delicious, eggs were perfect and bacon was crispy. Our only disappointment was that you can only get grits with cheese already cooked in.

    (4)
  • Tina P.

BEST BREAKFAST in town. If you like the diner-feel, greasy enough and cup of coffee always filled, this is your place. The people are friendly. We were regulars while we lived here. Miss it. Their sister place Five Forks is good too. Just not as much space there & hard to feel comfortable like you do at Honey Butter's.

    (5)
  • Marian P.

Yummy breakfast, I had the shrimp and grits with eggs and it was awesome. My son got a pancake that was bigger than his plate! Coffee was really good, as well. We'll be back with the rest of the family.

  • David F.

It was just like going home and eating mom's cooking right down to the frozen green beans, dinner rolls from a tube, and dry turkey!

    (3)
  • Brent d.

We had just flown into the area and were looking for a quick meal. When we looked at the menu, we thought it would be good home cooking. We were disappointed when it turned out to be second rate diner food. The name suggested good rolls with honey butter. The bread was cheap, over cooked rolls with cheap packaged margarine. In all, it was a bad choice for dinner.

  • TJ W.

Large portions, reasonable price, friendly service, and clean. Reccemend the Turkey Dinner and Corned Beef with rolls and Honey Butter.

I have tried to eat at this restaurant several times, yet they always seem to be closed. Might be a good spot but I do not eat dinner before 4 PM. I think I am done trying. Best of luck to any that are successful.

We arrived late in town and found this place in a shopping center. We had a bit of a mix up as my husband has food allergies and had to send his plate back, but they were more than accomodating and our dishes (carved turkey)were tasteful and the service was good.

    (4)
  • Susan C.

We went here for breakfast based on reviews I read here. The food was good. Our waitress, I believe, was new to serving. We had another waitress bring our food while our waitress stood in the back talking to someone else. Would try again. Maybe we'll get a better waitress next time:)

  • Swulski ..

I actually signed up on Yelp so I could write this review!! I was just in this restaurant for the second time tonight. Our first visit the food was ok. I ordered the turkey meal off the dinner menu and it was edible but nothing to write home about. I felt this place deserved a second visit. Tonight, I ordered the chicken and biscuits. There was not much gravy to it and the carrots and celery were cut into very large chunks which were still hard. I sent it back to the kitchen. Next I ordered the patty melt. It was the worst sandwich I ever had. The onions on patty melts are supposed to be caramelized and these were still crunchy! Plus the burger was still pink when I asked for no pink. Bottom line: I do not believe there is a professional chef that works at this establishment (as waitress stated) Way to many simple mistakes and she says this guy is always the chef cooking. I will not be coming. back to this place and could have had a better sandwich at McDonald's. I would not recommend.

Someone needs to add a picture of this place and do some advertising. Great corned beef hash, delicious biscuits and pancakes. Had the corncakes too and enjoyed them, different texture. Good coffee, fresh fruit and quality meats. This is the kind of place we kept looking for on our morning breakfast runs and finally found... Williamsburg has some old-time breakfast 'dives'... but Honey Butter's is really a solid place to eat. The waistaff could be a little more happy peppy and zippy... but by no means were they inattentive and that's really what matters. I have to say that I'm surprised by the one star review, just because the restaurant wasn't opened (which I don't understand because it's got typical restaurant hours), but I hope that the fellow that gave the one star tries to get to Honey Butter's just one more time! This place reminds me of a Jersey Diner, but with the southern twist.

Have enjoyed both dinner and breakfast at this restaurant. Great service, large portions of comfort food. Nothing fancy here but all choices very tasty. Garlic potatoes are special as are any of the breads (except for the rolls served with some of the entrees--all other breads are homemade). Haven't tried the desserts--no room! Not crowded very low key.

Excellent breakfast, very cheap, and a great discount for William & Mary students!

This place is fabulous. Wonderful staff, very friendly service. The beef brisket, cheeseburgers, and pork cutlet are my favorites, but honestly I've never had anythign bad from the menu.
