Not sure why I have taken so long to check this BBQ restaurant out. Took my daughter for lunch yesterday and I was bowled over by the food AND the pleasantness of the staff. First class ribs that fell off the bone. My daughter raved over the pulled pork. This is their first anniversary weekend, and I cannot speak highly enough of the experience. The chocolate cake that my daughter chose was both enormous and very moist and tasty. And only $2 Really pleased with this find. Lovely people running it.

First off, this place is my favorite BBQ joint north of RVA. I love this place so much that Sibby's catered our reception this past weekend. Oh yes, I got Sibby's brisket on my wedding day :o) Not only did dozens of our guests make a point of telling us how delicious the food was, but Jolly and his team of servers were 110% on the ball and made dinner service come off without a hitch. I can't even begin to fully describe how impressed I was by them and their food. It's rare that you can just trust a person to do their job with no oversight, but they did and I can't recommend them enough for either a meal at their restaurant or as caterers. Don't think, just enjoy!!

Real southern bbq served by really friendly, genuine people. My whole family loves it! Even my wife who grew up on N.C. barbecue. A little light on the fries tho... they're too good to skimp on!

Excellent pulled pork sandwich that came with fries and a pickle. The pork was very tender. The extra spicy sauce was not overly spicy and was appropriate while not overwhelming the meat. The sweet tea was also great. The service that I received is what got the fifth star - keeping the sweet tea topped off. I hope that Sibby's can keep it up.

They catered at the 4th of July Great Meadows Fireworks event yesterday and I was unimpressed and got ill from their food. They were really unorganized in their processes, had to ask me at least 4 times what I ordered, and worst of all I got sick from their food. I should have known better because the meat containers were out in the open and temperature control did not seem like a priority. I will not be visiting their restaurant and they should retire their catering business or get a manager to help streamline their process and serve SAFE food. Yuck!

After reading some of the reviews I had hope that I actually found decent barbecue in the area. The first alert should have been that there was no barbecue smell in our outside of the restaurant. Boy was I disappointed. I had a barbecue sandwich and fries with what I was told was a Coke My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and Mac n cheese. My drink was not a Coke, but must have been a Wal-mart brand from a can. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly but went downhill from there. The barbecue looked good but had zero flavor. The sauce on the side was too sweet. The pork was inconsistent and fattier than it should be. The fries were good. My daughter said the mac and cheese was disgusting. The waitress apologized and brought her fries. Her burger looked decent but unfortunately it was way too heavily seasoned with pepper and not edible. It was also one of the greasiest burgers I have seen in a long time. The waitress was polite and apologized. She did remove the burger and fries from our bill. I will not be back.

Stopped in Sibby's while passing through town with a group of seven of us. Was looking for BBQ and saw the Yelp reviews. Wow this place is awesome. Corn bread was just a hint of what we were in for. Pulled pork, ribs, and brisket were all notably impressive. The spicy BBQ sauce was great. All the sides we tried were very good. The collards in particular were some of the best I've had in recent memory. Just as great as all the food was the service. Seemed like a family running it and they were so kind and generous. Definitely recommend this place.

Oh wow, Sibby's rocks. We have eaten here multiple times and the food is always great. The bands and weekly entertainment add a great feel to the place. Sibby's is popular with the locals, and that says something about how they are still open after a few years in a location that other places have come and gone.

Excellent BBQ And customer service!! Highly recommend this restaurant if you want food you can smell from blocks away. Very reasonably priced and delicious!!!

Let's get right down to it: Sibby's has great barbeque. And that's exactly what you should come here for -- not for the ambiance, which is fairly bare bones (think wall-to-wall carpet and a few TVs on mute) or the drinks (they've got basic beer and wine, but that's about it). But what does it matter? The tender meat and delicious sides are worth the visit. I recommend the tender pulled pork with mild sauce, which has a lot of sweetness. My boyfriend had the brisket with spicy sauce, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Skip the mixed veggies and the baked beans and opt instead for mac and cheese or mashed potatoes as your sides. Service is friendly and quick -- plus, you get Peppermint Patty's with your check. Total bonus.

I have eaten barbeque throughout the South - and Sibby's has become a new favorite. I knew I'd be pleased when delicious aroma of barbeque hit us even before we walked in. I only tried the spicy sauce - but I'm sure the mild would be just as good - both the sauce and meat were wonderful even when eaten the next day as leftovers. The sides were amazing - from the delicious mac and cheese and flavorful collards to the sweet potato casserole (so sweet it could be dessert!) I loved the family atmosphere the most, however. It's over an hour from my home in DC, but it definitely deserves another visit.

Just had lunch at Sibby's and it was outstanding! I had the delicious grilled salmon and dipped it in BBQ sauce. The corn bread was fresh, hot and very moist. The mashed potatoes were "real" and delicious with gravy. My hubby had the mixed grill with ribs, brisket and pulled pork....all he said the entire time he was eating was... mmmmmm. Mashed sweet potatoes were incredible. Ms. Sibby and her family run the restaurant and they were delightful. It was like having a meal at grandma's house. 5 Stars and thank you Ms. Sibby!

Best pulled pork barbecue I have ever enjoyed. Smokey, well-shredded juicy pork, served on a crisp-toasted bun that had some crumb to it. I chose the spicy sauce. There's a hint of sweet with the spices, and a niiiice low level heat shows up a little later. Hubby enjoyed the fried chicken - too hot to handle when it first arrived, crispy skin, juicy meat, and only the lightest coating. He had cole slaw, and it went very well as a side, on the pork. Good size chunks of veggies, lightly dressed. The mac n cheese, and French fries, were each perfectly fine - but the barbecue, chicken, and slaw were superb. It was still busy after 2 on a Saturday afternoon, keeping the two servers on the run. They were doing a brisk carry-out business, too. The decor is low-key and the restaurant was clean and maintained. Will definitely be back for the barbecue - and would really like to try the brisket, and bread pudding. Yummmm.

Oh my husband and I LOVE SIBBY's. We moved into town about a year ago and decided to get lunch their one Sunday after church. Good heavens, the cornbread is entirely worth the visit. I now recommend this fantastic hole in the wall place to anyone who needs a good bite. Keep it up. -Good old bbq place, not a "fancy" date night out

  • Irene K.

First found this place while winery-hopping in 2013, and had a meat craving. It was fantastic in 2013. Returned two years later, and it's as awesome! We ate there both nights we were in town, and I had their TO-DIE-FOR ribs both nights, while my friend had the brisket. Just so we could share and taste both. I know some folks expressed displeasure that some nights they run out of brisket or ribs. But that is solely because each batch is SLOW-smoked to perfection... and they are not limitless due to the painstaking slow process. Sibby served us herself - a true indication of family touch! Their sides are fairly ordinary, (but who has room for sides when you have a 16" rack of ribs), although I would love it if they had a more "soulful" side selection like fried okra. Definitely returning next time we're in town.

  • Jason R.

Sibby's ribs were perfect, the best I have ever had. The sides and salads were good. The waitress was very kind, even though we inadvertantly arrived just before close. I look forward to going to Sibby's again soon, and recommend anyone that enjoys good, smoked ribs to check this place out

    (5)
  • Michael P.

Average barbeque. Nothing fancy but then again it shouldnt need to be. Would prefer it to have a bit more of a smokey flavor to it but its pretty simple tasting. We have only had it once so maybe it was just a bad night for them but unfortunately will stick with Bad to the Bone in Gainesville for now. Good smokey flavored barbeque and their wings are amazing (Bad to the Bone that is)

  • Nikol G.

We had dinner at Sibby's tonight and LOVED it!!! I had the brisket entree with mashed potatoes and collard greens. Everything was delicious! My husband had the 1/2 rack of ribs that just fell off the bone. His side of coleslaw was bland and didn't have much flavor, but everything else he said was delicious. We are already planning our next meal here.

  • Joshua W.

Thank you for all the corn bread! The fried fish was awesome and not too salty at all. Amazing corn bread, I'll be back for sure.

  • Suzannah S.

When it comes to good brisket, I'm a snob... but I think Sibbys is some of the best I've ever had. They smoke ring is just right, and the black peppered crust is delightful. Hands down a true brisket masterpiece. If you've ever dreamt about having a southern grandma, you need to stop by. The food is out of this world good, only to be surpassed by the warm and friendly service. We had brisket, fried chicken (which are huge pieces), collard greens (super fresh), sweet potatoes and slaw.. I won't be eating dinner tonight and I certainly don't think it would be satisfying after this meal. Make the drive and get some absolutely satisfying comfort food.

Found this place on yelp when in the area and so glad that we stopped! We got the onion petals, crabby Mac, brisket and pulled pork. It was amazing!! I will definitely go there again!

Best steak around hands down! Plus the homemade mac and cheese is amazing. Great service too!

  • Christine S.

Outstanding....best BBQ in Fauquier, hands down! Cornbread is delicious and ribs are amazing. No one at our table had anything left on their plates. Come hungry and leave happy!

  • Philip B.

The atmosphere was very home like. It gives off a cheerful attitude. The corn bread was out of this world! Some delicious pulled pork, baked beans, and collared greens to top it off. Wonderful BBQ spot!

After almost getting lynched at a rest stop with 'BBQ' about 15 minutes away, I am definitely glad Yelp helped me find Sibby's. I would have never found this place on my out. Found on a quiet side street, Sibby's is pretty well hidden. I knew the place was going to be wonderful as soon as I could smell the smoke coming from the kitchen. The corn bread was great, just the right amount of sweetness. The BBQ sampler plate was a great choice. Everything was great. My wife had the fried chicken and it was also excellent. The staff was warm and welcoming. It took a while to get the check. They seemed a bit slammed because they were running out of a lot of food options and it took a while to get someone's attention. I think this place may be worth the drive from DC just for the BBQ.

Service: Incredibly friendly & accommodating! Food: UH-MAY-ZING! Best BBQ we've had since we moved to VA. Ribs - incredibly tender, juicy, delicious flavor & sauce Mashed potatoes - creamy & had depth Baked beans - delicious & savory Cornbread - moist & perfect balance of light sweetness Pulled pork - my husband said it was very good (I'm not a fan of pp so) Catfish - unique breading & juicy however could use more spice Collard greens - could use more seasoning & a bit more acidity Mac n cheese - could use more cheese and flavor / my least favorite Decor: It could use an overhaul but all and all the food makes up for it 1000x over! If you love Bbq & you're in the area you definitely need to stop in!! We have been contemplating making the trip just to try some of their other dishes (it's that good!).

  • Mark O.

Dear lordie Sibby, best ribs we have ever had anywhere! Even better as leftovers the next day. And the quality doesn't stop with the ribs, all the sides are amazing too. Best cornbread ever! We can't wait to come back.

  • Robert L.

First time there and we were not disappointed. Yelp reviews were right on target. Owner was very cordial and accommodating. Pulled pork platter was KICK BUTT!! Collard greens were #1, the cole slaw was crisp and the corn bread was moist and sweet! We're definitely going back. This is how to run a restaurant. Friendly folks that are accommodating friendly AND the food is great. What else could you ask for?

Solid BBQ -- we stopped in on our way back from shenandoah, and were the first ones there when it opened at noon although it quickly filled up. The decor is a bit... senior housing dining hall-ish, but the service is quick and friendly. I ordered a brisket sub and my partner ordered the ribs (they were out of pulled pork, sadly). The brisket was only so-so (not a ton of flavor, the chop didn't do anything for the texture), but the ribs! Amazing, moist, fall off the bone, flavorful rub, nice crust. The sauce (we both got spicy) was also excellent -- spicy without blowing out your tastebuds, not too sweet but tons of flavor. Slaw was not great -- too sweet, but I tend to like tangier slaw. Would return for the ribs, and to try the pulled pork!

Get here!!! If you're thinking about coming to visit, don't think. At all. Just come and visit. There, now that I have your attention, we will get down to the nitty gritty. My fiancée and I are in the neighborhood, and we're foodies. So pulling up most of the places on Yelp leads us to chain places we hate. And then I mentioned the magic word "barbecue," and her hunger overrode her thought process. Which led us here. It's a unique building off the beaten path. Which means a side road off Main Street. We walk in and there are the standard tables. Not a lot was spent on the decor, and none was needed. It all went into the food. My fiancée had the beef brisket, and I had the pulled pork. Both servings were enormous, and the sweet barbecue sauce was incredible in it's own right. The Mach and cheese and baked beans were homemade, the mashed potatoes were freshly made, and the corn bread? Don't even get me started. I'd have eaten the whole tray if they'd brought it. But I feel like I've said too much. The service from Miss Sibby herself was excellent. The food was stellar. And if I didn't live eight hours away, I'd visit all the time. Just go. You'll thank me later. I promise!

They're not kidding when they advertise 16 hours if cooking for their pulled pork -- that stuff is juicy! My parents and I came here on a road trip through small towns in VA (quite specific, I know), and we're not disappointed. The weather was awful, so when we got there it was empty. However, that didn't stop our waitress from being so, so friendly and upbeat. Her warmth helped us escape from the cold outside :) The BBQ sauce was my favorite part. Usually, all barbecue sauces taste pretty equal to me, but this one had a complexity that both complimented and added something to the pulled pork as well as was able to be a delicious singular entity. I got the regular and my parents got the spicy -- both were equally amazing (the spicy, rather than just attempting to burn your tounge, had a just slight tingle that was very tasty!) I had some of my dad's brisket which cut like butter. Yes, it was a little fatty, but, hey, that doesn't make it bad. The Mac and cheese was a good side, and the side salad was nice if you want something light (everything is pretty heavy as good BBQ usually is). Best part: you get York peppermint patty's with the check! This restaurant is for your "no calories count today" day. Thanks Sibby's!

Wasn't blown away by it but it was good. Would have loved outdoor seating, the building needs to be updated on the inside (really old musty carpet and old tired bar). Food was good and cheap.

Stopped by on my way to Shenandoah. I had pulled pork with baked beans and mashed potatoes. It was amazing. The people working there were super friendly too. 10/10 will come again when I'm in the area.

Sibby's is located on a side street off of Main Street in Old Town Warrenton. It's in the space previously occupied by Smokie Joe's Cafe. They opened for business last Saturday - a group of us met there for lunch. I ordered the pulled pork BBQ sandwich with a side of collard greens and a glass of water. My friends ordered the beef brisket, pulled pork, fried catfish, ribs - with sides of macaroni and cheese, cole slaw, and collard greens. The pulled pork was incredible! Smoky, tender, and moist - the texture and flavor was so enjoyable. I skipped the bun and dipped my pork in the side of spicy BBQ sauce (you get a choice between a regular BBQ sauce and the spicy). The spicy sauce had a nice bite to it without overwhelming your taste buds with heat. The collard greens were succulent! They had this rich, savory, buttery aspect to them - but were not dripping in butter. And they were so very tender! I could've eaten a gallon of 'em! Best collard greens I've ever had! I also tasted the smoked beef brisket and the catfish. The brisket was thinly sliced, also very tender, and had a rich, pronounced smokiness to it! The fried catfish was fresh, hot, crisp - without being greasy - very good! There is a small bar that seats 4 people with a TV on the wall behind it. I asked if their was a free Wifi network for customers - I was advised at the time there was not - but would be soon. They accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, but do not accept American Express. Service was very friendly and attentive. We met Miss Sibby - she is warm, friendly and a lot of fun! This is a place that deserved your business! Try them out! I know I will be back again!

So I'm on a high protein diet and was sick of all the lean meats!!! I had a sudden urge for a cheat meal so, I came here on St. Patty's for some ribs! I picked up my sisters after school and we made a detour before heading home. Checked them out on yelp and they seemed food enough to risk. We walked in with no other patrons there except for us. I was immediately concerned but, decided to stay. I ordered a half rack and the Alaskan salmon. I should've checked to make sure it was wild caught. The ribs were meaty and well seasoned. No sauce on mine but the lovely employee offered a smile, great service and extra BBQ sauce in case I wanted any. She was very professional and kind. There's nothing like good customer service. Give it a try....won't be disappointed! Each item came with 2 sides and cornbread. I gave them to my sisters for their after school snacks and they loves them...sweet warm and moist. Best cornbread they ever had!!! We'll take their words for it! I got 2 side salads and 2 collard greens. They also had mac n cheese, which I'm sure was good. Definitely will be back. I'm surprised the place wasn't extremely busy!

Absolutely wonderful service and food! Best southern food around. Sweet mashed potatoes are amazing, great cornbread, Baked beans are lovely. Best southern sweet tea in Virginia (there is a difference between sweet tea & southern sweet tea). Fried catfish is perfectly cooked. Brisket and pulled pork are perfectly seasoned and cooked.

Soooo...I am going to put myself out there and say this is the best BBQ I have eaten in NOVA since I moved here in 2010. I lived in Texas for a stint and ate what would probably amount to 10 years off my life (calorically) of BBQ and tex-mex. This also means I am horribly biased and judgmental when it comes to my preference of BBQ. Imagine how delighted I was when I discovered that the rib meat fell off the bone, the corn bread was succulent, the collard greens were perfectly prepared, and the pulled pork was moist and well-flavored. And the sweet tea! Heaven! I would go before or after the lunch rush (especially on the weekends) because it appears to be family owned and family run (meaning an onslaught of customers may tax the poor waitress/waiter). Please go! This puts Famous Daves/Red Hot & Blue/Everywhere Else to shame.

Best BBQ in the area - by FAR! Sibby's is down a tiny side street in an old Elks Club building in old town Warrenton. It looks like it should be on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and it should be - as the food is OUTSTANDING! Daughter and I went Friday together. Their half-rack of ribs is so big you must take a box home. Catfish fillets were tender, perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection. LOVE their beans! Mac and cheese is good, as is the cole-slaw. Brought daughter back tonight as she begged and hubby and son joined us. They serve the BEST cornbread - soft, hot, not cornbready and not too sweet - perfection! The ending is the best - their bread pudding. This from someone who would not touch bread pudding before I tried theirs. Hubby and son are also now fans. The price is great - under $20 per person for so much food you nearly need to be rolled down the steep hill they are situated on.

If you are in Warrenton you have got to try this place. I had the pulled bbq, collared greens and mac&cheese, oh so good! The bbq was well prepped, moist, tasty, and is well complimented and not overpowerred with the spicy sauce, the collared greens (hamhocks I confirmed) awesome, cooked well and not "fibry". The mac and cheese, just melts in your mouth...tasty NOT salty! The corn bread that I was not expecting (I forgot) was moist and just spot on, and served warm. If you want the full soul experience, got to have the sweet iced tea to wah all this down. After the meal, you just want to seat back, smile with delight and say, that was a good meal.

  • Dine N. D.

Five stars because the pork bbq is THE best I have had, ever! They were out of ribs, so didnt get to try those, but if he bbq is any indication, Im sure they are incredible. The brisket was good, as well. Can't say enough about this place from the food to the people. The service was a bit slow, but that didnt bother us - everyone was just so friendly. Excited to return for the ribs!!

Went to Sibby's last week for the first time (found them on Yelp!). I had the half rack of ribs w/ garden salad & mac and cheese. The ribs were huge and fell off the bone! (the indication of some great ribs!) My bf got the brisket sandwich. The food was so delicious and the staff were very friendly. Will definitely be back!

Would've gotten 4 stars if they weren't out of brisket! WTH! They said they were out of ribs too, then checked, and came back to say they were wrong. Ribs were good and tender. The greens were good, so were the mashed potatoes and cornbread. The baked beans and mac/cheese were less than stellar. Service was great. And they had TVs to watch the NCAA games!

  • Cory F.

We were met at the door with big warm smiles as soon as we walked in. We were sat at an older table that wobbled and the decor really needed updating. Our waitress was Sibby and she was very attentive. The crab soup was out of this world. I will be dreaming about it until I can have it again. Portions were plentiful. The pulled pork and cornbread were delicious. Kids burger was huge. I wanted BBQ pork ribs though. The kind that are big and meaty, not the baby back ribs that are on the menu. Oh and they were out of collard greens. Gasp!

  • Sarah P.

I saw the positive reviews for Sibby's and decided to check it out to satisfy my craving for BBQ. I had the beef brisket and my husband hand the pulled pork. Both were delicious, tender, and moist. I would definitely order either one again, although I did prefer the pulled pork to the brisket. I recommend the spicy sauce. The cornbread they serve before the meal was also very good - fresh and sweet and melted in your mouth. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area!

After looking for a BBQ joint and reading the reviews on Yelp we picked Sibby's for lunch today. Delicious delicious delicious. The staff is so friendly and helpful it's hard not to love this place. I just wish we lived closer so we could go more often!

My family and I went today and it was great. I had ribs, my husband had fried catfish and both were perfect. We also had our little boys with us and they had the mac and cheese and loved it. My husband also tried the bbq hotdog and the pulled pork on it was awesome. My boys were stealing my ribs, even they loved them. We will definately be back. The corn bread is sweet and yummy. The sweet potato mash was to die for and so were the baked beans. My new fav!!

  • Elliott J.

I got a pulled pork sandwich to go for lunch today and it was delicious! The bun was tasty too. Excellent sandwich! I opted for a side of cole slaw instead of fries. I thought the cole slaw could have used a little more dressing, but it still had a really good flavor. I'm looking forward to going back and trying other menu items. The staff was really warm and welcoming.

Went yesterday and it was very disappointing. We had the pulled pork and chicken and both were extremely dry. The Mac and cheese were okay but the collards were totally tasteless. My colleague had the catfish and stated that it had a very funny taste to it. The service was okay and the owner/manager seemed very friendly. I know that had just opened recently but don't know if we will give it another try

Outstanding food with cozy atmospere! Family run opertion, and the care, pride & attention shows. We had a terrific pulled pork sandwhich platters - they smoke the pork daily so its very savory. loved it!

I have been there twice and both times had the pulled pork with baked beans and it was awesome. The pulled pork was perfect by itself but dipping it in the spicy BBQ sauce adds another level. As a BBQ lover I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place. Next time I go I'm going to try the ribs.

Wow ! What a great find Yelp. I was down hunting with friends and we needed a late lunch and rolled into Sibby's about 1300. Good local beer selection and the pulled pork and beef brisket were as good as I can recall eating in a long time. The greens and baked beans deserve special shout outs as authentic and delicious. As others have mentioned the Spicy BBQ sauce is clearly house made and does a great job of balancing spicy and sweet in perfect fashion. Clearly made that way with thought and care and not just the sweet sauce with heat added. Staff was great and the atmosphere is down home. Highly recommended. Would never have found it without the Yelp app on my phone.

We were loyal repeat customers until we received overcooked and burnt ribs. The price increased which is normal to keep up with the economy but the consistency of the ribs and sides are not. First time and 3-5 visits the later the ribs were getting tough and chewy and the sides were getting smaller in size. We counted about 10-15 fries and cup of greens all for the whopping price of $22.00 -$25.00. We enjoy the spirits with our meal but there are no visible pricing for alcohol so the drinks seemed to be more expensive and less ounces. We are greatly disappointed in this once upon a time happening soul food restaurant. The pictures look great on the site but the food does not represent the portions.

Found this place because Black Bear Bistro was an hour wait and I have to say that in glad. Sibby's offered delicious food especially the corn bread. Beyond the delicious food was the very friendly and prompt service.

Was craving Sibby's brisket, so we made the 1 hour trek out here for dinner this weekend. Food was still wonderful, but I am knocking a star off my review because more than 1/2 my brisket platter was pure fat and not edible. I was actually shocked the chef served it like that and didn't at least cut some of the fat off the meat. When the server took my plate back she asked if I wanted the leftovers and I said no - it was a huge pile of just FAT. Also; for a party of 3 the server gave us 2 cornbreads and made some comment about them running low (which I have to wonder about because at least 4 more families came in as we were eating so did they not get cornbread or get less too or was some still in the oven?) It was just kinda weird and since we love their cornbread, it was a bit disappointing. I did hear a family order the fried chicken and Sibby herself gave them a headsup that it takes about 20 mins for the chicken to be ready because it is hand breaded/fried etc. there "to order" (which sounds awesome!) As much as I love brisket, my recent visit has me thinking that I may just want to try that chicken next time. Bread pudding did NOT disappoint - heaven...pure heaven!! Vegetable sides, homemade mashed potatoes and gravy and the collard greens were oh so yummy too.

A genuine local treasure. Hubby and I tried them for lunch with pulled pork sandwiches. The sauce was tangy and savory at the same time. We liked it so much we arranged catering for a BBQ party at home. Very generous portions, incredible ribs, and the potato salad would make your grandmother jealous. The prices were very modest. I grew up on Texas BBQ, and this place stacks up credibly against my Lone Star favorites

I was impressed by the food and the service. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The ribs were excellent and highly recommended. They were very tender but not overcooked. The brisket had enough flavor that I did not need to put any BBQ sauce on it. I will definitely return to this restaurant.

I wish I'd had a chance to actually try the food here because it looks yummy (and I hear from my parents that it is!), but alas, I was only at Sibby's for drinks and karaoke. The owners - Sibby, Jolley, and Poncho - really have heart and you can tell they want to be a part of this community. The above mentioned karaoke is a new way to hopefully bring folks in and get them to come back. Karaoke will be every Thursday from 8-11pm, but I hear they have plans to also have live music on Saturday nights. If you're looking for something different to do in OTW and you want a very reasonably priced drink (or two) while you do it, head over to Sibby's sometime. The friendly staff will be happy to see you. Next time I'm in town, I'll try the food!

Sibby's is my next stop on my search for good BBQ. I have to admit I am placing a pin on the map fir Sibby's. Great location for out of owners or locals. My favorite piece is the ambiance. It is in the basement of an old building. It gave me the feeling this was a couples dream ciming to reality. I had the brisket since so many reviews mentioned it. I also had ribs. Both were good and the sweet sauce was excellent. My on real criticism was the mac and cheese. Not a traditional baked mac and cheese but the collards and backed beans made up for it. They use hickory wood and a barrel style reverse flow smoker. Another complaint would be the lack of smoked chicken. I didnt get any pulled pork but I would bet is was good too. If your looking for a nice evening out try Warrington and Sibby's.

Sooooo good. Two words will change your life - Crabby Mac. They take delicious, creamy mac&cheese and combine it with their fantastic crab soup. Its one of the best things EVER. I also love their pulled pork and collard greens. Never disappointed here!

We have been here only once, and we will be back. Pulled pork platter was generously portioned. Collard greens was cooked so delicious like I never had before. Onion petals fried was different and great. This is not a fast food place, nor it is inexpensive. But I'm worth it.

I'll keep this simple...best BBQ in 50 mile radius. What else do you need to know?

So happy to have found this place! Sibby, the owner, was warm & friendly. Her staff was also great! The pulled pork was smokey & yummy! My husband loved the catfish & our girls even finished their chicken strips! Next time we are in Warrenton we will definitely go back!!

Sibby, one of the owners, greeted and seated us immediatly. The brisket melts in your mouth, and the ribs were excellent. The place was super clean. Not on the main drag but not hard to find either. Will definitely be back.

What a hidden treasure! Just finished my meal and I am in heaven! My husband ordered the ribs with mashed sweet potatoes and collards and I had the catfish with baked beans and collards. The experience began on a high note with the most delicious cornbread I have ever had. We would highly recommend Sibby's. You best believe we will be back. Excellent service too. Pam--you were great!

We usually stop in at another restaurant when in Warrenton. For some reason we decided to hit a different one and chose Sibby's. It now is our new favorite!. The people are nice and genuine, the food is to die for. We had coleslaw that had to be homemade and the pork BBQ was what the definition of "awesomeness" should be. The pork BBQ came with our choice of sauce on the side. We had outdoor seating and for that reason I have no input on the indoor decor. It was the perfect day for it. We will be back, hopefully next Thursday!

Best BBQ we've had in Virginia in over six years. Being from Texas, it's really hard to get/find great BBQ in this area. We found this place while heading to a pizza parlor and literally the street signed pointed the way down the back road...we took a chance. The restaurant itself is a dive, but clean and kept up with. At first glance you may think you're in for just an ok meal. Just stick it out and you'll be rewarded. Corn bread - winner winner chicken dinner Brisket - best I've had in years, I've almost given up on finding any in NOVA. Pulled pork - wife's sandwich looked like a mountain of meat and the sauce was perfect. Sides were good as well. Serve was great and friendly. We'll be back. I'm too lazy to write all the details, but read Neal E.'s review below...spot on.

Celebrated Father's Day having some awesome barbecue. The briskets were delicious as well as the pulled pork I snagged from my son while he was not looking. Service was great and the price per person is fair and reasonable. Highly recommend to visit and try the food.

We were excited to try this place and were not disappointed. The staff were very nice. Ordered the ribs with collard greens and mashed potatoes. Everything was very good. Husband had the same excepted instead of potatoes he had the Mac and cheese which he loved. Looking forward to coming back.

Holy deliciousness! This place is not seen from the main road so I think people overlook it but, it was the best brisket I've ever had and the cram mac and cheese was outstanding. We will definitely be coming here again.

I visited Sibby's over the weekend for lunch. Upon entering I was a little surprised, the ambiance is not that of a place serving great bbq (soft jazz and purple walls). There's a small bar and about 16 tables. The menu has all the usual suspects, pork, brisket, ribs, chicken, and more sides than your typical joint. I really wanted to try both the brisket and pulled pork but alas, they do not have a combo platter on the menu. I settled on the pulled pork, it comes with fries and a pickle. Upon ordering your offered either mild or spicy sauce, it came on the side. The sandwich can be eaten without the sauce, it was super tender. The hot sauce was not overly hot and was still quite sweet and tangy. Fries were great dipped in the sauce, but the pickle was pretty sorry looking. The mac n cheese, which i sampled from my daughters plate was actually penne and was OK. I'm going to try the brisket next time and probably baked beans & potato salad. They cater and have whole hog.

Don't be swayed by the rather ordinary ambiance. The food and service was really good. This is not fancy French food this is fantastic, home made BBQ type food. My wife had a half rack of ribs, they were delicious. Also the rack was big and meaty so she took half of it home. I had a burger that was great too. Good to feel like your at your aunts house eating. The aunt that can cook.

Found Sibby's on Yelp. Saw the reviews and decided to try it. Rolled up to an old white building 15 minutes before closing time. Entered an average looking restaurant (suspicion starting to build). Expected the standard denial that they would be closing soon but met Sibby who welcomed us in like it was her own home. We were served some of the best barbecue brisket tasted to date. This is not factory, chain style barbecue. This is home loved perfection. We had the barbecued brisket with two different sauces. The flavor of the meat and the wood that it's smoked with will fulfill immediate expectations and more. The coleslaw tasted like it was picked out of someone's garden that day. Most restaurants have the stuff floating in a white sugar/mayo compound that is sickly sweet. NOT HERE! Sweet potato mash and ice tea. We will be coming back for more. This was southern hospitality and barbecue wonderful goodness. Easy Five star eating and hospitality plus plus. Update...we first tried Sibby's in May...went back today (Aug 2) and my memory and review still stands. Brisket and chicken...all outstanding plus their selection of jazz music is excellent. We drove one hour to get here...that's how good it gets.

The first time I visited Sibby's and read on the menu that the meat is cooked over wood from Lawrenceville, Va., I wondered to my self "what difference could it make?" It makes a HUGE difference! I lived in a town just to the east of Lawrenceville for several years and fell in love with the flavor of the pork barbeque. When I moved to the northern Virginia area I found that it just didn't taste the same. The first bite of the pork at Sibby's was like heaven! We have been back multiple times and have introduced many friends to the restaurant, and they all agree, it's the best pork barbeque they've ever tasted! I don't even use any sauce on mine, I want to taste the meat! Love this place and I hope it stays around for years to come!!

Excellent mom 'n pop BBQ joint! The place is simply decorated but very clean. And the service is very friendly, like you are visiting someone's home. On our last visit, I had the brisket and my wife ordered the salmon. The brisket was smoky, tender and juicy with a beautiful red smoke ring around the edges of each slice. Both the sweet and spicy sauces were excellent accompaniments to the meat. The salmon fillet was generous and well-grilled. We both ordered the same sides -- collard greens and mashed sweet potatoes -- and thought both were among the best we have had. The greens especially were perfectly cooked and seasoned, with just a little bit of heat. I should also mention the cornbread, served hot right from the oven with just the right amount of sweetness. All in all, exactly what you want from a BBQ joint: Homey, friendly with great food and generous portions.

Fantastic BBQ. They have some good attention to detail too. The corn bread they give you is fantastic, but the packets of butter are actually warm so it spreads. So many restaurants will give you packets right out of the fridge, so it's a hard little puck. My wife had pulled pork, which she loved. I had a full rack of ribs, which were also great.

Excellent brisket, melt in your mouth, and generous portions at this new Warrenton BBQ hot spot. My spouse and I were staying at Airlie Center and sampling the local dining options and had decided on another very well rated restaurant we had researched on the web for Saturday dinner. We walked up 2nd street and past the restaurant. The Chef, Poncho, was sitting on the porch and the smells from the smoker were superb, we stopped, chatted and took a menu. We changed our minds as to our dinning choice as the dearth of excellent Q in Northern Virginia is a great sadness. We have had BBQ in the major hubs of KC, TX, NC and TN, and the brisket on this night, was equal to the top ten in each of them. It is a great brisket, we had a better than expected house salad, very good mashed potatoes, and a light, not overly sweet cornbread that could be a break out recipe if made available. Two sauces were available, one sweet, one spicy, one of us prefers no sauce, the spicy sauce was thin, not overly tomatoey and I had it on the side to manage the balance. Limited but decent adult beverage selection. Family owned, great service, excellent value. CGR

Took my husband, daughter, and her fiancé for lunch today. Three of us got barbeque; one of us ordered ribs, and we were all very happy with our dinners. The barbeque was slow cooked, tender, and flavorful. My collard greens were tender and so tasty! The bourban bread pudding was, in my husband's words, "the best I've ever had." The service was wonderful. Sibby was our waitress, and she made us feel very welcome and cared for. George Jolly came to our table and visited a few minutes and seemed really pleased that we were enjoying our experience. Prices were reasonable; food was delightful; service was warm and attentive. You KNOW we're going back again!

Good Que in Old Town Warrenton. In the space that was formerly occupied by Smokie Joes. My and my co-worker Jimmy went here for lunch today. We both had the pulled pork sandwich...wow, it was delicious. This is whole hog and smoked for full flavor. This is quality que and comes with your choice of sides, cole slaw, french fries, potato salad or collard greens. I had the collards and they were delicious. Topped off with a side of sweet tea that was very good as well. Service was a little spotty and a bit slow. It started out really good and then half the Warrenton Police Department came in and they almost forgot about us.

Great BBQ! Came for dinner after a long day of hiking and it hit the spot! The ribs were out of this world. Pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, collards and sweet mashed potatoes also great. Will definitely come back the next time I'm passing through.

What a great BBQ place! We found this restaurant while riding the motorcycle in downtown Warrenton, and smelling their BBQ. My wife and I had the Pulled-Pork BBQ sandwich, with their spicy sauce. That was as good of a BBQ sandwich than I have ever had. I ordered the side of Mac and Cheese, while my wife had their cole slaw. Everything is delicious, and you can tell it is made in the restaurant, fresh. We confirmed that with the person who was attending our table, As a matter of fact, she makes the sauce herself. We will definitely go back, and bring the whole family some day soon. If you like BBQ, I highly recommend you try this restaurant.

After searching for the best places to get bbq between DC and Charlottesville I finally settled on Sibby's in Warrenton. I stopped in for a quick bite on the drive about an hour before they closed on a weekday. Though the place is plainly decorated and slightly uninviting at first glance I was immediately greeted by a smiling face who assured me she'd help me in just a moment (it was rather busy in there for a sleepy Wednesday night). She came over promptly with a menu and asked if I had any questions. After a few moments with the menu I didn't see any sort of combination platter with multiple meats so I asked if they had one, expecting the answer to be no, and lo and behold they did - a platter with their famous pulled pork, brisket, and baby back ribs. As the self-titled Barbequeen, naturally I went with that. It's not on the menu so if you want to sample all of their meats in one meal make sure to ask for the sampler platter. It comes with two sides and two pieces of corn bread and can easily feed two reasonably hungry people for less than $18. Once I got my barbecue any misgivings I had about the lackluster atmosphere were quickly forgotten. I dug into the peppery, spicy, and fatty part of the brisket first. It was perfectly seasoned, and had a chewy, blackened outer edge which cradled the melt-in-your-mouth fatty bites between the bulk of the meat beautifully. I will mention that there were a couple pieces of brisket that seemed slightly dry because they didn't have enough of that decadent blackened outer edge and soft fat. The flavor was great though - smoky and obviously from a pit. The only other negative thing I will mention is that the pulled pork was also a bit dry in certain bites, but that was easily made up for by the perfectly balanced smokey flavor, and quickly remedied with a couple drops of their spicy bbq sauce. Next came the baby back ribs. A feeling of sadness and despair is currently washing over me as I realize that I just ate the last bite from my to-go box for tomorrow's lunch 5 minutes ago. Of the dozens and dozens of different baby back ribs I've tried in my life these effortlessly rank among the top 3. The meat was cooked perfectly - not quite fall off the bone, but also not attached to the bone so that I had to scrape any meat off with my teeth. The flavor and texture were spot on, with a tangy, sweet bbq sauce glazed sparingly on the top so as to not compromise the smokiness and quality of the meat. It is so hard to find well-cooked ribs where the sauce adds to and doesn't detract from the flavor of the meat in it's purest form. Sibby's nails it. If I had to rank the overall quality of all bbq and sides I tried I'd probably give Sibby's 4 stars, but those ribs, man...Also my server (a tall lady with short blond hair) was excellent - friendly, eager to help, and checked in on me frequently. The corn bread was ok and the collard greens were pretty good, especially when topped with the vinegar they serve upon request. The mashed sweet potatoes were pretty good, too. Oh yeah! You get a peppermint patty with your check. What a delicious and thoughtful touch. I left Sibby's impressed, satisfied, and eager to return. What more could I ask for?

This BBQ joint is right in downtown Warrenton and had great Yelp reviews, so we decided to check it out. We went there for lunch around 12:30 on a Sunday and we were immediately told that they didn't have ribs or brisket, so we were a bit bummed by that. We went for the pulled pork and that came with 2 sides. I got the mac & cheese and sweet mashed potatoes. The pulled pork was awesome, full of flavor and tender. The bbq sauce that came on the side was good and a little sweet. The sides were good and I could tell they were homemade. The service was good and our waitress was nice, but it was clear that she was working short handed and needed help. The decor of the place isn't great, but we came to eat good BBQ and not necessarily enjoy the decor, but just be warned that Martha Stewart didn't decorate this place. It has good BBQ and I look forward to come back and get to try the ribs.

Pulled pork and brisket was very good. Mashed potatoes tasted real and not instant. Fries were cooked well. Mild barbecue sauce was good, kind of like a non sweet baby rays. House salad was just lettuce and lots of a cucumbers. Corn bread was moist. Will be back to try other things. Would like to give 4 1/2 stars.

Ok, let me start off by saying the brisket here is the best I've ever had. I may not be a world-class BBQ connoisseur, but I usually find brisket dry and bland at most restaurants. Not here. It's so tender your fork can barely lift it without it disintegrating... Ribs. Let's talk about ribs. Now, I like my ribs to be NOT-QUITE fall off the bone... but that's a personal preference. At Sibby's you can just tug on the bone, I mean you can't even lift one off the plate as the bone just separates from the meat! This makes it easy to eat, anything that doesn't melt like butter is either bone or cartilage, something you probably don't want to eat. We split a rack between three people and everyone loved it. The ONLY ribs I liked better than Sibby's was at Pappy's in STL. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed!

We stopped in here for an early dinner on a Wednesday in June and had a fabulous meal. We had the Beef Brisket, nicely seasoned and smoked, and a half Rack of Smoked Baby Back Ribs. The ribs were the best I've ever had, meaty and expertly smoked. For sides, we had French fries (very good), mixed vegetables (very good), and the best Collard Greens I've ever had. Hard to beat two all-time bests in one meal! The owner, Sibby herself, served us. This "mom & pop" place is doing everything right.

WOW!! AMAZING!!!! My friends and I found this place on Yelp as we were driving back after a day of hiking. This was the perfect place to gain back all those calories that we had just hiked away! I got the half rack of baby back ribs, mac and cheese and veggies, and I couldn't be happier! My friend got a whole rack, and he couldn't even finish half of it! Someone got the pulled pork and that looked and smelled amazing. My other friend got salmon, and it may have been good, but you don't go to Sibby's for salmon. ;-) Definitely order one of their bbq meat dishes. That's the only way to go. Our waitress was also amazing. We asked if her mom cooked everything, she said no. Her dad does and her mom makes all the sauces! Amazing!!! Sounds like such a great family business. I will definitely go back if I'm ever around Warrenton again.
