Vinny’s Italian Grill & Pizzeria Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I love this Vinny's. I have been eating here for years and it remains my go-to restaurant in Stafford because of the quality of the food, service, and family friendly environment . The eggplant parm is one of my favorites (order a side of meatballs and you can have a second meal with the side of pasta) as well as their daily specials. If available, I highly recommend getting the gnocchi served with bacon in a tomato Alfredo sauce. Seriously, I was ready to lick the bowel. The pizza is great too and a large can feed a whole family. They also have a decent selection of wine and beer as well as a full bar and now have several sections for groups. Enjoy

Very average Italian food. Went here with a large amount of people and while I think some of them were quite pleased with the food, I thought it was just okay. And for $18, very overpriced for average Italian. The ambiance of the restaurant is quite pleasant. Easy lighting and a very intimate atmosphere. Then I went to the bar and got their beer special. Sorry to say I wasn't impressed. It was too watery and not easy to swallow. I got through about half before I went with the baked ziti and chicken Marsala. I'll be frank; the baked ziti was pretty decent. Sauce was not over rich and the cheese was good, and the pasta was not overdone. But the chicken Marsala had no taste and the mushrooms didn't either. The person next to me who ordered their penne Alfredo wasn't impressed as the sauce looked runny and lacked the thick consistency the sauce is supposed to have. I know there's plenty of local establishments of this place, but this one was just okay at best for pricey food.

Disclaimer: I was born and raised in New Jersey and have pretty high standards for REAL Italian food and pizza especially. Ambiance is pretty standard for an Italian restaurant with cans of tomato sauce and bottles of wine on the shelves and ledges. Food is okay. You can tell it's not homemade but frozen so don't set your standards too high. Everything from the calamari to the cannelloni and ravioli arrive in huge boxes from an outside supplier. There is NOTHING remarkable whatsoever about the food. Tomato sauce is made in house and is pretty good. The one item that stands out is the calzone which is very reminiscent of "home", filled with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses and ham (Vinny's Original Calzone). The garlic bread is nothing short of pathetic. Margarine spread on lightly toasted Italian bread slices and sprinkled with garlic powder. Seriously, I've NEVER, EVER seen this at ANY Italian restaurant and I've easily been to several dozen over my few decades in this Earth. How hard is it to minced garlic and use olive oil?! The staff is luke warm at best and we had to search out our server to get drink refills and a small side of sauce. She seemed bothered by us even though she only has two other tables. Given the portions and location (it's STAFFORD County, not Alexandria or somewhere else "inside the beltway"), the prices are a bit higher than warranted. One of owners was there counting the cash register with a cashier and didn't even bother to look up to say "thanks for coming" or "see you again soon" as we walked out. Rude, just rude.

We ordered to go, I got the Vinny's club sandwich and the hubby got the steak and cheese sub. The vinny's club was just a turkey and ham sandwich. You can't really mess up a sandwich, it didn't taste great or anything, just OK. The sandwich is cut into 4 wedges and it's toasted. The steak and cheese sub was soggy due to the box being closed. He said it was OK, but we both agreed that the homemade like chips that came with the entrees were delicious. They were lightly sprinkled with old bay seasoning. A few of the potato chips were soggy and soft. I'm sure it's more tasty if you dine in. We definitely will give this place another try, perhaps I'll try something more Italian like pasta and pizza.

I went to Vinny's to meet some colleagues for a short meeting and some beers. We sat in the bar area, ordered beers, garlic bread and chicken wings. The bartender/waitress was very nice and personable; beer was cold, and food tasty. What more could you ask for at such a reasonable price??

Let's just start off with "Try the lasagna!" It's fantastic. Every-time I stop in for lunch this place is buzzing with activity. It's a pretty traditional non-chain Italian restaurant with good food, good service and reasonable prices. I've always been cared for well by the staff and the managers swoop by frequently to check on everything. The environment is good for a quick meeting or relaxing with friends.

Food is okay and has good seasoning. A little greasy. Staff is quick and helpful. Very courteous. The place can use a DEEP clean. Dust bunnies are everywhere.

I am a frequent costumer here. being originally from New York City I am alway very critical of the pizza I eat. They make the only pizza in my opinion that not only tastes and looks like New York Pizza, it is New York Pizza!!! I've only have had the Pizza here and only carry out so I can't comment on anything else. The price is good and the staff is very nice. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

Great calamari; great mozzarella sticks; great tortellini; great marinara sauce; great chicken primavera - see a theme here? Attentive service by a server who obviously liked her job. Keep your Carabas for those who have limited taste buds and give me a little restaurant with great food like this every time.

I've dined in once and ordered take out on many occasions from here and it is always very good. The cashiers/girls who answer the phone are always quick, accurate, polite and professional! The calzone is very good and it's huge. One night they had an older gentleman playing the accordion and we all thought that was cool. It's right outside the side gate of MCB Quantico.

This is the first place that i have gone to that serves you more than enough garlic bread. the service was good, and the plates we ordered were delicious. I had the salmon and it was juicy and the sauce on it was mouthwatering. even thinking of it now makes me salivate.

  • Isabella T.

Been here last night and food wasn't good at all. The garlic toast which they brought out was not garlic toast but rather butter toast topped with parsley. Not only they weren't good but they were cold. Who would eat cold toast. I ordered a chicken marsala and it was loaded with liquid. If they they say this is authentic Italian then they should go back to Italy for culinary school. I asked waitress for some alfredo sauce and it was watery too. I was upset with my meal. Nothing is appeasing at all. Won't go back here again. I rather go to Carrabba's where I can really good food for this same price.

Best Stafford has to offer; Casual; Nice Atmosphere. Great Authentic Italian Food. Locally-Owned & Operated; 610 Landmark for years

Great pizza, reasonable prices! Unlimited garlic bread was nice. House salad was good bt nothing special.

Not bad pizza. Calzones are ok. Baked spagetti is good. For the cost, I recommend it. It just doesn't have the "WOW"!

Went there when we first moved to this area and will not come back. Not original Italian food. Pasta marinara eatable. Pizza ok for no picky kids. Service ok.

So this was my first time at vinny's. it was an experience that I will not likely forget in the near future. the young lady that greeted and sat my friend and I was professional, curious, and above all had all of her teeth. my waitress "Blanket" was amazing, prompt, and obviously cared about the service she was giving us. The bread is amazing, blanket said the she had made it herself I would not have doubted her but she had no flour on her pants. Which is a clear indicator of bread making. I had the chicken Philly which was pretty good. But all in all I give the service a 10 and the food an 8. Thanks again Blanket you're Awesome. -Vinny

With small kids we ordered out. WOW! Food was great, this has become our family's new favorite. Portions were great and the quality of the food was way above what I expected.

In town on business; gave Vinny's a try. Delicious calzones! Great service even when busy.

Vinnie's has always been a favorite of ours. Some of the food is mediocre but most is good. Service is excellent and staff is friendly. Although sometime there is a wait to sit, it's usually not that long.

Had a birthday party for the wife here.... our reservation was for 20 people and we had family dining with four trays of different foods. All tasted good but the dishes were all luke cold.

Gordon Ramsay, my culinary idol, says there are at least two things that make a restaurant suspect: one is being located in a strip mall. The other is having pictures of its food in its menu. Vinny's is both located in a strip mall and has pictures of the food in its menu. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by both the size and taste of the lasagna. Huge portion and greasy as can be, but delicious. The wine list sucks, but at least it was cheap. And what can you really expect for Stafford, VA? The complementary bread was also good, as was the service. Overall, I couldn't believe how cheap the prices were. $9.95 for the lasagna, which came with a salad. And the bottle of Malbec I ordered was one of the more expensive bottles at $22. If you're equally suspicious of strip mall restaurants and the tacky menus displaying the food, do yourself a favor if you're in the area and give this place a chance. Considering the other Italian options in the area, this is one of the better places to eat.

This place was dee-liscious! Well the Calzone was. Probably one of the best I've had. Loaded with cheese and peperoni. They did not hold back. Service was good too. Little slow at one point but not a game changer. Decent prices too. Check it out of you are in the area.

Outstanding Italian restuarant! I have been there several times with my family. Very kid friendly, but still a classic setting for a good date. Great prices, kids pizza is 1.99. Fabulous service as well!

  • Kristina G.

We eat here all the time. My family's favorite. Usually get the orinal calzone. It is one of the best I have eaten. Kids get pizza. My child one time even wanted a mad pizza face and they did that. Servers always bring out bread before the meal. Big portions. Some servers are lacking. I wish I remembered one servers name. He is the best I have ever had in VA area. He was young looking and full of smiles. Was always helpful and watchful of drinks and empty plates. I highly recommend this place. I have even taken my out of state family here too!!

My family has been going to Vinny's for over ten years. It's ALWAYS been at least a 4.5 star experience, but a 5-star rating is typical. Great pizza, salads, and everything we've ever tried has always been really good. Always clean, with good, friendly service, very pleasant decor, and good music to match. What else can you ask for? This Vinny's restaurant is a family dining experience that shouldn't be missed.

Always very happy to eat here. We tried Rosetta down the street, which is supposed to be a high end restaurant. My husband said Vinny's did the eggplant parm better! Happy customer here!

Disgusting bland food and terrible service. I gave them 3 chances because everyone rants and raves about this place, but it's awful. Don't bother.

I don't normally write reviews, but this restaurant visit warranted a review indefinitely. First time and last time husband and I will dine-in at Vinny's better yet order take-out from this restaurant. The reason we will NOT revisit Vinny's is due to management. By far the worse management I have encountered in any industry to include retailI and that says a lot. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and sadly enough the dish did not meet my expectations. The two serving dish was served with undercooked noodles to include a tasteless generic tomato sauce and needless to say I was expecting more of an authentic Italian taste than what was served. I promptly asked the waitress to remove the spaghetti dish and I ordered a basket of Italian wings at which my husband ordered as well. The waitress took away the spaghetti and spoke with management regarding taking back the order. Management agreed to remove the order and send the Italian wings in replace of. Turning Point: When the waitress returned with check, the spaghetti dish was listed on on the bill. I ask the waitress why the spaghetti was listed on the bill considering I refused to eat the dish and promptly asked if she would remove the spaghetti dish and ordered a replacement. At this point, I ask to speak with the manager and that's when things took a turn for the worst . The manager took personal offense to the reason why I was dissatisfied with the spaghetti. The manager showed no sense of professionalism in the least bit. I was totally shocked with the behavior the manager displayed. The manager had begun to go into a rant of who was going to pay for the the spaghetti dish not being consumed. Are you serious??!!! Is this how a manager responds to its customers, seriously! I simply responded by saying this is not for you to discuss with a dissatisfied customer but instead to bill my husband and I for the food we had consumed. His next response which I did not see coming was, "Vinny's serves thousands of customers and everyone likes his spaghetti and my husband and I were in the one percentile." His response was beyond disrespectful and showed his lack of professionalism as a restaurant manager and lack thereof for customer service. He continued on his rant and became even more irate which caused my husband to intervene. It's extremely clear the manager does not take kindly to his customers refusing to consume unsatisfactory prepared dishes. Why he felt it was fitting to express his discontent to the customer is beyond me. The manager's response to my concern raised a huge red flag for both my husband and I. Nevertheless, we will not be returning to Vinny's because in our view, the customer is always wrong at Vinny's.

Friendly place with plenty of room for a large party, friendly cashiers and waiting service, and they show you your carry-out pizza before leaving the restaurant. My sister wanted to try the taco pizza today, and figured why not. It wasn't bad, but expected a more taco pizza kinda thing rather than some taco toppings on a pizza. Still a decent place to some pies.

Usually love this place, but tonight my salmon took at least 20 minutes to get out of the kitchen. it was so dry I had to send it back. I don't usually do that. Perhaps a bad night for the kitchen. (This review is actually from back in June. For some reason it didn't post and was still draft.) Love their Pizza

  • Mark D.

Food is good, prices are fair and i'm guessing service is a lot better with smaller groups. both times i've been here were with 25+ people so i cant say the service was bad, just double check your order, they did make a couple of mistakes...including mine :( pizza is good, appetizer's are large, servings are plenty. being italian, i'm picky for italian food but this passes and i'd return the next time i'm in stafford.

Get the Spinach and Artichoke dip!!!! This is a great local place. The staff is always friendly.

This place is great. I love the pizza . Oh ya the guy in charges name is not vinny lol. Sit inside or outside. The service is fantastic and the place is so clean. The staff takes time with you as if your the #1 customer. They make you feel at home.

Ordered a pizza. Not great by any means. Service was good, though. For Italian, there's a better option in town.

Sad I won't get to try. I requested a fax of the menu and the manager and server had a major attitude and problem with it and told me to go online in a snippy tone. I know I could have gone online, but I requested a fax. Customer service at its worst!

It's a hole in the wall and probably wouldn't of noticed it if someone didn't tell me about. It's awesome though and has great menu selection and the staff was very nice. It was quaint and the food was good I had the blackened chicken pasta and it was good; a little spicy but that's okay

Well, we are new to stafford, of course coming from a small town to a smaller town, not impressed with the restaurant choices. Heard rave reviews from my husband who goes to Vinnys for lunch often. So excited to try a real Italian restaurant with deep dish pizza. Very unimpressed, tasted like bread/dough with tomato sauce, so disappointed!:(( Loved the big chef salad though, have ordered it as a carry out a couple times, my 7yr old loves it too. Will try the thin crust soon, feel that Vinnys is still s great local restaurant in the stafford area and not writing it off yet :)

I went there with my family the waitress was every tentative since we have a large group of people. The service and food were excellent. The pizza is a must! We are only visit, but if they had a Vinny's in Chicago would definitely go again.

I grew up eating at the Vinny's down in Spotsy, but when I'm with my boyfriend's family up in Stafford, I love going to this particular Vinny's even more. This one gives you complimentary bread, which is nice, and it's also larger than the other Vinny's, and seems to have more staff. My boyfriend's parents know the managers, and they are nice, good people. There are always a ton of people we know there besides the managers, and one time they even had a nice old man playing the accordion. I thought that was pretty neat--he even came to our table and sang and played a song just for me! If you see him, be sure to give him a nice tip, he's a sweet guy. Now for the food: I've been here so many times, and I've loved everything I've tried. One thing I really like about Vinny's is that there are reasonably healthy options as well as the typical belly-busting, rich, delicious fare. Whatever mood I'm in, there's something perfect for me to eat at Vinny's. And it's GREAT for picky eaters! There's something for everyone here. No complaints whatsoever--I could eat here every week!

The pizza was okay but the Chicken Marsala was very disappointing. My wife really liked the place but I was very surprised to see they used canned ingredients (like mushrooms) on their pizza and in their Marsala. For the price of the food, they should be using much higher quality toppings. The place was real busy and seemed to be enjoyed by many. I will likely go back (wife liked it) but will try other menu items and hopefully find something worth the traffic on I-95.

Love Vinny's - Always had great food and service and the food is priced reasonably. Their rollatini (when ever they feature it) is to die for....

This place is awesome! Good food, good service, good atmosphere. This time we came here for my daughter's birthday dinner and had about 10 kids with us. The pizza was great as usual and the service was better than that! The icing on the cake was that they let us bring in our own cupcakes (pun intended).

  • Justin W.

The unlimited breadstick were great. I think the baked pasta dishes were a little small but the other entrees were massive. Definitely filling and hits the spot if you're looking for a filling meal. I liked the service too and came here a decent amount for lunch.

  • Sherry D.

Just ate at Vinny's after living in Stafford for 1 year. The pictures shown don't do Vinny's justice. It is huge, the atmosphere is fantastic and the food is fabulous. My husband liked their chicken parm better than Olive Garden. I had a calzone and a dinner salad. They bring bread to your table, the service was great. We will definitely return for more delicious food at Vinny's!

  • Robert G.

Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere with typical pizza shop decor. Ordered a reuben sandwich which included twice a much bread as pastrami. This sandwich shouldn't be billed NY reuben, it would embarrass even an upstate new yorker. The pastrami actually tasted like bologna, a first and a true disappointment. Side order of fries were middle of the road frozen to fry but I wasn't expecting made from scratch at the local pizza place. The place was very busy with a local crowd, obviously there must be better items on the menu, live and learn. I give this two stars only the service saved it from a one.

  • Kaylen K.

I have since been here several times and have had delicious food each and every time. We love everything we've ever eaten here (except the free, un-buttered garlic bread that comes to your table). My only change to this place would be to have the server take care of your bill so that the customer doesn't have to wait in a confusing line of people that are: waiting for a table, trying to pay their check or paying for their to-go orders.

  • Lia M.

I feel like this is the 3rd time I am writing a review for this place - but I guess I just keep forgetting! I have actually been here 3 times - once in Fall 2009 for lunch, and then twice since for pizza, all take-out. Staff is very friendly and this is a casual restaurant. Restaurant was busy all three times, all around noon or 1pm on weekdays. They definitely do a good business. Pizza is really good - cheese is golden brown & sauce is minimal. I love it - I would give them 4 stars for the pizza, but 3 for the entrees. The entrees are not awful, I've just had better. I had the chicken primavera with scampi sauce & my husband had chicken broccoli ziti with arrabiata (not on the menu). Mine did not have much flavor, but my husbands was more flavorful. Will definitely get the pizza again, and might try a different entree.

We love Vinny's! Haven't had a bad experience yet. The service is amazing, you just don't get the warm and wonderful welcome when you go anywhere else. They really do treat you like family. Been there a few times and the food has always been good, huge portions too, you will not leave hungry that's for sure. You never feel rushed either, there's nothing I hate worse than your salad coming right out before your appetizer, or your entree coming out on top of your appetizer, they know how to stagger your meal, and I never have to ask for anything, all the servers watch each others tables and I love that.

Had been to Vinny's a few times and had really enjoyed going there since it is a locally owned restaurant. This evening for Mothers Day my children took me there. Unfortunately my daughter found a long black hair in her food. The waitress took the food away in a huff, never offered something else then upset that I wasn't finishing my lasagna after being turned off by the hair. The waitress never offered a replacement for my daughter nor did she offer to remove the dish from our bill. The waitress was very curt with us after the hair. The manager, owner or chef did not come over to apologize nor did the waitress apologize. The bill arrived and sure enough the dish with the hair was there. So I paid $53 for a meal that my daughter could not eat while being subjected to rude waitstaff.

Best pizza in stafford. Everything they make is quality and taste good. If you are tired of the same old processed chain restraunt food try it you'll love it. Got beer so that is a big plus for me I gotta have beer with a pizza.

One of our family's all time favorite local restaurants. Our kids know that on a Friday night there is a good chance they will find us at Vinny's. Good Pasta, Good Pizza, Good Sandwichs, what more could you want! It is a local favorite, so make sure you get there early on a the weekend or you may have to wait await. They also have a great take business.

I just came back from a lunch with coworkers at Vinny's. I ate too much bread and needless to say...I have the "itis" ( urbandictionary.com if you don't know what that means). So this review will be short and sweet: For the good: the buttered-texas-toast-like bread basket The fried calamari-It was so good that I ate more than everyone else and had no shame about it The sweet tea-it wasn't too sweet The customer service was excellent The so-so: My baked spaghetti was decent albeit a bit watery underneath. Nothing really stood out about it but it wasn't bad. For the not-so good: Ceasar salad--the dressing looked like a man climaxed all over my lettuce. It wasn't really creamy. It looked viscous. The taste was decent though (yes I still tasted it..I had to see if it tasted like it looked) Only one toilet in each bathroom-when you gulp down like 3 glasses of that sweet tea...there needs to be an available toilet at all times! Would I go back? Yes, so I could try the pizza and eat more of that buttered bread and calamari. It gets pretty crowded in there so I'm guessing that people love this place.

The easiest way to rate Vinny's is to compare it to a fast food place. As a fast food casual restaurant, it blows away Subway, Pizza Hut and MacDonalds. If you're looking for a quick cheap meal that's better than the large chain fast food alternative, then Vinny's is the place for you.

This was my first experience with Vinny's. I'll be honest, the food was very good. We ordered three pizzas and all were good. If I were to do it again though, I would have stuck with 3 of the meat feast pizzas. The reason I'm giving them three stars is the the service. All of our table ordered beers off of their draft menu. The only beer they had available was Blue Moon. The other beers were brought out in bottles, but charged at the draft price. The Blue Moon did not come with the usual Orange, and they were out of cold glasses, so the beer was put in warm glasses. The worst part was the price. The Blue Moon on the menu was priced at $3.00. We had multiple glasses, and then when the check was brought out, they were priced at $3.75. I immediately brought this up to the waitress and she told us that it was very popular, so they had to raise the price. I asked her why they hadn't changed the menu, and all she said was she couldn't do anything, and that it was popular beer because it was brewed in Fredericksburg. Aside from being completely wrong about where Blue Moon is brewed (try Golden, CO), there was no offer to subtract that .75 per Blue Moon and no apology. In the grand scheme of things, it was only a couple of bucks, but it was the fact that she made no mention of the price being different from the menu. She just brought the check out without saying anything. Needless to say, they were tipped the appropriate amount (with the .75 per beer subtracted) and we left.

This restaurant is a hit or miss. When it is good, it is really good. When it is bad, well...you get it. The consistently good: Calamari, Mild or Hot Wings, Chef Salad with house dressing, Blackened Chicken Caesar Salad, Baked Spaghetti with meat sauce, Lasagna, and Blackened Chicken Pasta Primavera. Often, their specials are your best choice. The questionable stuff: Everything else. I kid you not. Sandwich fillings are low quality. Stringy stuff came out of the Philly Steak Sub the last time we ordered it. Looked like chopped up rubberbands...weird! The pizza is rather bland, I think because the sauce doesn't seem to have any spices in it. It's just not interesting. Also, the crust is soft and bread-like rather than crispy...almost like it was steamed instead of baked. Bottom-line: EVERY time we eat at this restaurant, they get AT LEAST one thing wrong. Given the general lack of quality restaurants in the Stafford area, I am willing to deal with the fact that something in the order will be flat-out wrong. That's just the way that it is. I just tend to order the consistently good stuff, including the specials to minimize the frustration of staff errors. On the up-side, the owners are incredibly friendly people and have taken things off the bill or ensured that we got a suitable replacement when they knew about the errors. The wait staff are very friendly and attentive. The kitchen staff usually make the mistakes. Menu: vinnysofstafford.com

If I had to pick any restaurant to get a solid 3-stars, this place is it. I think it's the neighborhood pizza/Italian joint because it was packed when we went. The food is decent - we got fried calamari, half-cheese & half-pepperoni pizza, and a calzone. The calamari was great with generous portions. The pizza was decent - it actually tasted better the next day than it did fresh. And the calzone was pretty good, too. Let me put it this way: when there is good food in front of me, I continue stuffing myself until I feel sick or the food runs out, and my husband rolls me out of the restaurant with no regrets or shame whatsoever. This place did not do that for me, but I didn't feel like I had wasted my time or a meal. (Money is irrelevant when it comes to food.) There were pizza places in Jersey that we more-or-less became regulars of, but I don't think Vinny's it is for us. I'll continue looking around...

Vinny's is a decent Italian restaurant. I have been there dozens of times over the years, and I have never been disappointed. I especially like their thick crust pizza which is a real bargain. The staff is always attentive and pleasant. I choose Vinny's over the other pizza shops in the area.

Not a bad place! My fiance and I stopped here on a 8 hour road trip home for lunch. I have a gluten and dairy allergy, so was trying to find a place where he could have his pizza (his favorite) and I could have something gluten-free. Well the website said they had gluten-free breads, pizza and pasta, but turns out they only had gluten-free pasta and pizza (can't eat the GF pizza anyway because of the cheese). So a little dissapointed, but decided to go with the salmon which came with GF penne pasta, and veggies. Also couldnt have the sauce on the salmon and pasta, because it had dairy in it. So after talking with the waitress, the chef made me a special sauce for my allergies and it was REALLY GOOD. My fiance said his pizza was "ok," but we are from the north so he is VERY picky about his pizza... he said it was somewhere between NY pizza and NC pizza. Since we were in VA, I guess that is fair. haha. It was nothing spectacular, but the staff was super friendly, and it was a great stop for lunch. And of course, always an A+ to an italian place with GF foods. Would love to see them add some GF breads though :)

Vinnys is a great family restaurant that meets all of my qualifications. They have great food, service, and the main general flow of the restaurant is generally laid back. I live near here and have been visiting vinnys ever since I was a little 5-year old kid and I have never had a bad experince. Vinyl will always get four stars on my list.

Vinnie's needs faster, more efficient service and larger food portions for the price. I am a local customer that dines out frequently in North Stafford and Vinnie's is a local favorite. It's probably because of the variety on the menu and you usually see someone you know there. HOWEVER, the food is MEDIOCRE Italian fare and there are some more negatives to mention. We don't care for their pizza- its not like New York style we are use to. A major consistent frustration each time we go is the long wait for the servers to take and then bring us our drink order (beer, wine). Even though no one is at the bar, it takes another 10 minutes to finally serve us our beer. I usually see our beer/wine order waiting at the edge of the bar, getting warm, while our waitress is no where to be found. Why not have the lonely bartender (or available server) walk it over to our table...he's not doing anything. The inattentive service is because the waitresses have their tables scattered all over the restaurant, rather than efficiently assigned tables all in one section. Customers must wait or resort to looking around to flag their server's attention. And boy, the tiny pasta portion served with the entrées is pathetic. Prices are too high for the small entree portions. I do like the hoagies, eggplant and veal.

Good food, good portions. Stafford is really limited but Vinny's is our go to choice once we have made the rounds to the limited restaurants in the area and we don't want to travel to Fredericksburg. Staff is pretty good and place is consistent in service and quality.

I've gone to Vinny's Italian Grill twice and I have come away unimpressed thus far. I don't understand what all the people eating there (both times I've gone, the place was packed) see in the place. The pizza is decent, probably the best I've had in Stafford so far, but the entrees didn't wow me. On my second visit, I ordered the "baked red sauce penne with sausage" lunch special of the day which cost $7. It came with a side salad as well. On this visit they seemed to be very busy with a large party in the backroom. The FBI was having some congratulatory luncheon. So after ordering I had to wait quite a bit for my food. Luckily they bring each table a bread basket (was hoping for olive oil). The bread was bought-in but it wasn't bad. After waiting a while, my waitress brought my pasta and the salad. I really would have liked my salad first. The salad came with Italian dressing, which was just ok. The pasta was served in a dish with Italian sausage and covered with cheese making for a pretty greasy time (ah, just like in Michigan). The sauce, cheese, and pasta were good, but I didn't like the sausage, which was a deal-breaker for me. The sausage was clearly not made in-house and it was served in its casing. Serving Sausage in casing is ok for sandwiches, but not really for pizza or pasta. The texture just doesn't feel right. I also bit into a few pieces of gristle. Since Vinny's is pretty much the best you can find out in the sticks, the pizza is worth returning for. If you don't plan on getting the pizza, I wouldn't recommend going to Vinny's.

Third time. Strike Three! I am sorry but I must be that customer who seems to experience something bad every time we go to the same place. I have to be on Garrisonville rd. area a lot for work. I think this operation wants to be Italian, wants to act Italian, or wants you to believe their recipes are from Italy, but the food at this Vinny's so so different from the one on Leavells's road in Spotsy, I wonder what the difference might be? Maybe this manager buys cheaper ingredients and trys to fake you out. Baked Ziti, Spinach Pizza, Chicken Marsala and even the basic Steak and Cheese Subs are not up to par with other Vinnys. Maybe this manager, being a short drive from the other Vinnys, takes the liberty to run the thing his way, like sauce from a can, cheaper steak for the subs or cheaper cheese... I am looking for another restaurant and if anyone who lives near here can suggest something Id appreciate it. Thanks.

Decent food, most of the wait staff are good, and the atmosphere is improving. We go here often because the food is pretty cheap. It's an easy go-to restaurant.

If I had to order a "Last Meal", it would be Vinny's Four Cheese Ravioli with spicy marinara sauce, and a chocolate cannoli.

Good food (good selection), nice atmosphere and close to home - what's not to love? The grilled chicken Caesar salad is great and so are the wraps. Pizza is good. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Service is usually pretty good too. Some times there's a wait for a seat on a Friday or Saturday night. They also have a "party" room in the back.

Vinny's always has good food and service. I really like the tortellini campagnola. Yummy roasted pepper sauce.

My husband and I always try and eat here before we run a race - regardless of the distance. The staff is usually really good (although there have been maybe 3 times in the past 3 years when we have had to wait 5 minutes before someone comes to our table) and they are really kid-friendly. If you're going here on a Friday or Saturday night, I suggest you get there before 5:30 otherwise you'll probably be waiting to be seated. My husband and i have been eating at Vinny's for 4 or 5 years now - the first several years at one of their Fredericksburg locations. When we moved up to Stafford we were super excited to find a Vinny's on Garrisonville Road. Their seating area seemed fairly small considering the size of the business they get, but they recently expanded and were still working on completing those renovations when we were last there. I used to order their baked spaghetti every time I came here. Occasionally (like once in a blue moon!) they have had a pasta dish with shrimp, crab meat, and a pink sauce...heavenly!!!...but the last time I saw that was on Valentine's Day. The other special I usually go for when I see it is their ravioli with the butternut squash sauce...delicious!! I am so really addicted to their lasagna. Their side salads are the prefect size and my daughter loves their bread (besides - $2 for a kids' pizza?? can't beat that!).

Ah, Vinny's. A friend of my husband's had recommended Vinny's for Italian, so we thought we'd try it out. We really liked it here. It's just a little store in a strip mall, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being just great. It was even kind of, dare I say, homey. Checked tablecloths, lots of stuff on the walls. We went on a Friday night and it was fairly busy, but I think we waited less than 10 minutes for a seat. There were couples and families there, a good mix of people. We got a pitcher of beer and some appetizers. Lots of fried food with the appetizer (the Pot O' God, little bit of everything one), but really good! But beware, it was also really hot when they bring it out, since it was just cooked in oil. They also bring you garlic toast, just thin pieces of bread, but really yummy nonetheless. The rest of the food was good, too. They have salads, sandwiches, pastas and other italian entrees, pizzas, calzones. I ordered lasagna. It wasn't the most spectacular Italian I've ever had, but it was really filling, so nothing to complain about. It was exactly what were were looking for. I'd definitely recommend Vinny's if you want to have a casual and relaxing dinner, for a pretty great price. They also do carry-out here. A lot of people were coming in and picking up pizzas.

Stafford has limited options when it comes to Italian. Little Caesar's is our usual pizza joint but when wanting more options and cozy environment to chill in with a beer in hand - Vinny's is the place. One night we were brave and ordered the Sicilian - a 16" square DEEP dish. It requires extra cooking and we now know why. It was gynormous! Once slice and we were done! We had leftovers for days. It was good but not my thing, I'd rather a thin slice any day. I like their Stuffed Shells, Ravioli and Salmon entrees. Highly recommended. As Paul C says, "quaint and pleasant."

Whenever in Stafford (I live in MD), I make it a priority to stop at Vinny's. Quaint and pleasant, Vinny's serves some of the best pizza I've had in VA. My family of four eats well for around $25. I haven't tried much of the menu but if you want a good slice, check it out.

If you're in the mood for casual family dining at an italian place this is it it! We just moved to Stafford and based on reviews and friends I was very apprehensive of the dining available in Stafford. I've been pleasantly surprised and Vinnies was our first stop. The decor is nice but it's definitely one of those 'awesome hole in the wall places. It's in a strip mall near sherwin williams. I had the blackened chicken primavera and it was really good. Fresh ingredients, crunchy veggies, loved it! I read from reviews before going that sauces were watery but this is not Olive Garden or any of those other ' open a can and perfect food comes out'. These sauces are made fresh and will be thiner than the processed ones. My husband had pizza and he liked it. Our family of 6 would have had to wait a while since it was crowded but the owner brought us to the back and we were seated within 5 minutes. He was so nice by the way. I think the next time we go we'll all try the pizza or maybe the baked spaghetti. Either way we're definitely going back.

Vinny's is my local favorite for pizza or light Italian food in Stafford VA. The price is right, service is fair, garlic bread is warm and the food is always great. Vinny's uses the best and most fresh ingredientes for all food and it shows best on thier pizza... Highly recommended!

The food was fantastic, the restaurant was clean, and our waitress was lovely. I only give it 4 stars instead of 5 because the food did take a long time to arrive at the table. We sat down at 6:40 and didn't eat until 7:30. Granted, the food was all fresh and prepared right then, and was DELICIOUS, but still a little long. I was with all adults, thank goodness. I don't think my two-year-old would have made it if he had been with me.

Hmm, I'm on the border with this one. Yes our entrees were good, but maybe it was just because we were so hungry. The pizza did look decent, but we opted for pasta primavera (it came with alfredo sauce, so I asked for marinara instead--no problem), shrip with fettucini (sooo good, a pink sauce), and the chicken marsala. The house salads were iceberg, which I don't like but the olive oil was extra virgin (thank goodness). We ordered the bruschetta, and it was disgusting. Sorry, but true. It was a fat piece of bread topped with cheddar and mozzarella and then they CHARGED us 75 cents for tomato/basil topping (which was not that good). I couldn't believe it. Our waitress did ask us if we liked it and when my friend said it wasn't good (still can't believe he actually SAID that), she was basically offended. She wouldn't remove it from our table even though we asked her to. Then they charged us for it. Annoying.

Good good food. Fast friendly service. More often than not, short waiting times even on very busy nights. Nice place to land when your tired after a hard day and really want to relax and eat a good meal with family and friends. Warm atmosphere, and wonderful smells from the kitchen. Prices are reasonable.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
