This place has such a good concept...and good food as well ! I love pizza, and I love the idea of making your own pizza, without the hassel of having to make the crust and waiting for it to bake. The "chipotle style" makes your experience fast, and their pizza is SO GOOD A+

MY 100th review!!! I've been saving my review of &pizza for my hundredth because it is worth being noted for this occasion. But less about me and more about &pizza They make me feel like I am an artisan pizza creator with the design ability of Davinci and the culinary sensitivities of Alain Ducasse. Picking out my ingredients, paring them with the finishing oils or herbs. I was proud of my creation. It was delicious. The pizza came out perfect and it definitely sated my appetite. All I can say is that it's really, REALLY good.

I love &pizza! Same concept as Chipotle which I LOVE because you can order what you want and can see what they're exactly doing with your meal. It makes ordering my pizza so much easier. I have not been disappointed with everything I've ever ordered from them! All their ingredients are so fresh and delicious. I'm addicted to their handcrafted sodas they offer. Which means something because I don't usually crave soda. The only fit I have with them is the customer service. They're either really nice, patient and attentive or they're really snappy or rude. But that will not stop me from getting my &pizza!

About a 2-2.5: This particular &pizza is located at Springfield Mall, adjacent to Nando's. I came here with my newfound love for their seasonal Bacon Cheeseburger pizza. There was a lack of attention to the customization (just way too much of the ramesco sauce that it made the pizza a bit too soggy T___T). Some of their craft soda was a little flat as well (such as the Pear & Fig Elixir) T___T The staff were super friendly and nice, though! There were plenty of tables, including the communal table, but the tops weren't well-kept. I would like to give this place another try, as it seems as if the other locations all have stepped it up! +lack of customization T___T +flat soda T___T +friendly staff +parking in mall lot

Ah, &pizza, the place where lame suburbanite parents, Latino guys with tats, and me can all enjoy a meal. That being said, apparently little girls who like cheddar cheese cannot; the one behind me in line saw some and asked for it, and was told no, apparently because it was only for the new specialty pizza and nothing else. If this is policy, this is a strange policy, but even if it is, when a five-year-old girl asks nicely for something inconsequential, *make an exception*. Customer service, people. &pizza's done enough right that I'm only deducting one star in the hope that the people at this outlet will lighten up. That being said, this location is buried in a suburban mall, which yields a few observations. One, suburban malls still exist. Two, it lacks the cool neighborhood vibe of the urban locations, because it isn't in a cool neighborhood. Three, it has more space, albeit still hardly enough for the evening crowd. The pizza is pretty much what I've come to expect. I was all spiced out from earlier exploits and went with a less spicy pizza than I usually do, but even the B team of ingredients is awfully good. Always more vegetarian options than I can eat. I keep waiting for someone to tell me I've exceeded the number of toppings one is allowed, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards. I don't find myself in suburban Virginia all that often, but the people out here are lucky they have an &pizza.

My first time here, I was with a Yelp event. Everything was great, from service to food to environment. Thus I decided to pay another visit couple weeks later. It certainly was not the same experience. Despite the fact that I attended a Yelp event, where we were treated like VIPs, it was just bad the second time I went. The staffs seemed incompetent, not fully knowing what to do. They certainly did not seem happy to be there nor have any enthusiasm making pizza and very rude. One staff was wearing the same pair of gloves until we asked her to change them. She was doing everything from picking up food, holding the cutter, picking up the pan, touching/opening cabinets, and picking up other things. I mean I'm not shocked about it, I'm sure everyone does that when they're behind the scene in the kitchen, but don't do that in front of your customers! Nonetheless, the pizza was pretty good.

I love that you can build and have your ideal pizza in minutes! They provide many options for the type of dough, sauce, cheese, and toppings - and it's all for under $10! You can also buy one of their signature pizzas, but I usually just create my own. My usual consists of traditional dough, either mushroom truffle or basil spinach pesto as the sauce, mozzarella cheese, spinach, artichoke, marinated mushroom blend, kalamata olives, caramelized onions, roasted tomato, basil, feta and sometimes sausage. Some of the craft sodas are pretty good as well. My favorite is the ginger berry lemonade!

I came here recently as part of a Yelp Event. This was on brunch stop #4 and we were able to sample about 5 pizza's and sample the salads as well. The pizza's are shaped in a sort of rectangle shape, not your typical round circular. I thought that was intriguing and unique. Sampled the following pizza's: - The Farmers Daughter - which contained sausage, mushrooms, cheese, very hearty flavors. - Back Yard Garden - a veggie pizza with spicy arugula greens, fresh tomatoes, cheese - Maverick - spicy sausage and pepperoni - The Lori Lane - dessert pizza with ricotta and blueberries...delish The pizza's were fresh, hot, thin crust, very fresh. I was not able to try the salads. Honestly, I was blown away by the excellent customer service. The General Manager - Stephanie did an wonderful job educating the group, keeping everyone engaged, and managing the lunch rush in the restaurant as well. There have additional locations around DC as well. I was impressed with the unique soda machine on site.

Let me tell you this, I have tried &pizza at the airport and I had an absolutely horrible experience. At the airport I ran into an unpleasant employee. And thus, I couldn't even enjoy my pizza because I was so bitter about the service provided to me. At that moment, I thought that my vacation was down the drain. (Yes, I have dramatic tendencies.) But once I finished my pizza I had forgotten all about my negative encounter at &pizza, until I ate at their Springfield location. At this Springfield mall location, the employees are so professional and so friendly... Far from my first encounter. They are accommodating and very detail oriented. The food is delicious and it is clear that they utilize the freshest of ingredients for their topping options. The space itself is small but in a cozy way. The restaurant is cozy and has a homey vibe. It's a great place to get a personal pizza!!!

Over the weekend I took the hubby to Springfield Mall with a couple of missions in mind -- one was introducing him to &pizza. He was skeptical going in, comparing it to other places, unsure why it was a place I wanted him to try. Once we got started he was enjoying it. He might have gone a little overboard on the toppings, but honestly, isn't that part of the fun? He enjoyed it and is already talking about what combinations to try next time. I went with a spicy tomato / garlic combination of sauces on the multi grain crust to start and worked with the Farmer's Daughter as my basic (without the egg -- I just can't get into the egg on pizza idea). I added some chicken and after oven seasoning. It was very good. In addition to the yummy and personalized eats there is also the wonderful staff. I don't know what &pizza does to keep the team so happy and engaged but they should definitely keep it up. From the initial selections, to the after oven toppings, to the check-out, to the women who was cleaning up the tables, they were all engaged. I particularly appreciated the women who was removing plates and wiping tables, its not a fun activity but she saw still engaged and asked if we had enjoyed our pizzas (& when I responded she replied which really, really impressed me). &pizza gets two thumbs up and may even make me a Springfield Mall regular, something I never thought I would even consider.

I came here for a Yelp event. The manager was really friendly and gave us a lot of information. I love how customizeable it is, and the crust really is very good. The craft sodas are also super yummy, especially the rootbeer! We were served a number of salads and pizzas and the standouts for me were the Gnarlic and the Lori Lane dessert pizza.

I was invited to try the springfield location and so I went and I have to say. It was a good experience. I still can't say enough about making your own $10 pizza. Get the spicy tomato, house cheese and meatballs with garlic oil and you will have a great pizza. Also there dessert pizza is still great. So... I will admit... I wanted to have something to complain about since I was invited to try there new location. And i have met resistance about toppings on a pizza when I want more of a particular topping. The stars and moons must be aligned because the young lady behind the counter was more than happy to give me more! Walked out with no complaints. Pizza was good. People working there were polite. All in all... great pizza for the price and i look forward to more!

This is my favorite pizza place! A friend took me here and ever since, can't stop coming back. Their mushroom truffle is my favorite sauce. Friendly staff with a smile on their face no matter how crowded. 5 star. You guys deserve it.

In traditional &pizza style... Another stellar experience!!! I am so happy they have come to the burbs and I begged every time I went to any other location! Job absolutely perfectly done! I Had my traditional combination of the kiss and fire with the half gnarlic with meatballs... OMG....LEGENDARY!!! And then the hubby had the kiss and fire on wheat crust and the kids had a kiss and fire with the original sauce. I have been here twice in one weekend and both times the staff are all smiles, singing and most importantly, they know their pizza!!! The patience for our desire to craft the perfect pie knows no end! I can check another location off my list and nothing but perfection!!!

In order for me to give a restaurant a five star rating, something has to be unique about that restaurant that I haven't experienced anywhere else. The uniqueness can be anything-maybe the restaurant has a dish that no one else has, maybe the location is a hole in the wall that you would never think of stopping at, or maybe they specialize and excel in exactly one kind of food. For all of my previous five star reviews, each restaurant had exactly one defining, unique aspect that made it special. &pizza is the first restaurant I have been to that has multiple unique aspects that make it special and five star worthy. Here's my list of what makes &pizza a five star location. -Sit down, restaurant quality pizza served at the speed of a fast (think college town fast) Chipotle. In fact, this pizza is BETTER than pizza I've ordered in restaurants. Try the gnarlic and tell me I'm wrong. The crust was cooked perfectly. Incredibly fresh ingredients that you can actually taste. Tangy cheese. Served hot out of the oven. Nothing about this kind of setup should work. You just don't get this kind of food, at this level of quality, THIS quickly. -Restaurant design that is tailored exactly to the food. The pizza is rectangular here, and it so follows that literally every aspect of the restaurant is tailored the same way. The building space itself is a long rectangle. The tables are long, thin rectangles. The take out boxes are rectangular. Check out the font of the &pizza logo when you walk through the doors. Notice anything different? The i isn't dotted in "pizza". Even the font follows the theme. This is Apple-esque design in a pizza place. -Unmatched taste and value for the price. For about $11 dollars a person, you get one whole pizza and a drink. (Assuming you don't go nuts with extra toppings) I could not believe the quality of the pizza I was eating after paying only $11. They could charge $15 a pizza and it would STILL be a good value. Will these prices last? I don't know. But right now this is one of the best deals in town. I'd like to go on longer about &pizza, but let's just wrap things up here. &pizza is a must-go right now in Northern Virginia. It is, without question, exceptional.

Everything about my visit to & pizza today was awesome. The farmers daughter pizza was yummy. The only thing I found strange was if you get your eggs sunny side up on the pizza they toss all of the amazing egg white. Seems like a big waste and a disappointment for someone who would've wanted it. I also wish they had larger size soda options a 16oz craft soda just isn't enough. The team was very polite.

Coming from New York, I love a good pizza, but have had trouble finding places that can satisfy my high standards. I am pleased to say that &pizza lived up to my expectations! The pizza here is quite tasty. If you can appreciate different toppings, I suggest experimenting with the Maverick or Farmer's Daughter pizzas--they are awesome! The craft soda fountain, is something that definitely sets &pizza apart. There are a few different flavors, which change seasonally. If this kind of thing wets your whistle, I suggest stopping in!

There was once upon a time when I didn't even like pizza... but &pizza gave me a change of heart. I've been to the original location on H Street once and I didn't know what I was doing so I ended up with a customized pizza -- but it still ended up being delicious! Luckily, &pizza decided to open their first location outside of the District just 5 minutes away from my house in Springfield Town Center (it's right next to Nando's and on the same side as Maggiano's and Yardhouse). There's an entrance from the mall as well as from the outside. You start by choosing your dough -- traditional, ancient grains, or gluten-free. You can order a customized pizza or one of their signature pizzas -- my favorite is the Maverick, but I also liked the Farmer's Daughter. You can even add additional toppings to your signature pizza if you wish! The staff was friendly when I visited and the manager even checked up on us. They also have a handcrafted soda machine with out of ordinary flavors like dark cherry, mango passion, etc. If you're ever in the area, you should definitely check &pizza out!

&pizza? And no place I will ever frequent. I called to place an order for a half dozen pizzas for a party and they don't take orders to go. Seriously?! What kind of pizza joint doesn't have pizza you can order to go? Even if they have tasty pizzas I'm not going to go in just to wait for a large order. Next.

Hard to beat a thin crust pizza cooking to order while you mix lemonades out of the fountain on a hot day. There are vegetarian options here. I tried a basil pesto sauce on wheat with spinach, broccoli and house-made mozzarella for a delicious green pizza that made people jealous. Look at the menu before you go. The fans are too loud to hear much of anything from the assemblers, so there will be pointing involved. Things in general are not very clear to first-timers during a rush.

  • Stephanie J.

Two thumbs up to &pizza. Bottom line, every member of your party gets a custom pizza, don't like olives? Well, that's no problem at all. Each pizza is an individual oval (very non-traditional shape) and the crust is definitely on the thin side, which i certainly prefer. Once you order, the assembly line engages and you get to custom pick the toppings for your pie. Let's see, they have 8 different types of sauces e.g., classic, mushroom truffle, various pestos and ricotta; three different cheese selections, numerous vegetable (mushrooms, broccoli, artichokes, jalepenos), protein (pepperoni, bacon, sausage, falafel, eggs, etc.) and finishes (arugula, tomoatoes, figs, olives, balsamic) and oils. Once you've made your selection your hand crafted pizza is gently placed into the conveyor style oven and pops out the other side in cooked right perfection. From ordering to check out it takes about 7 minutes -- pretty darned awesome for a custom-designed pizza! They offer both eat in or take out service. The staff is friendly, the place is clean - and I highly endorse &pizza.

Went to &pizza for the first time and was very impressed. Custom made Pizza with fresh toppings. (Think of Chipotle but for Pizza). I tried the Maverick and added a little jalapeño. Very tasty. I will definitely be back.

Good and ok-ish things here. Good things were that the pizza is real tasty, a big portion for a single person, and customizable. I got the Farmer's Daughter and I loveed the big mozzarella pieces. I do love cheese in general so I could used some extra cheese too. You could watch them make the fresh dough and it tasted so fresh also.. mine had a spicy sauce and added a nice touch. I tried my friends' pizzas too - don't remember exactly what they were, but they were were meaty and super delicious. A not so good thing was that the employees seemed very confused during the entire ordering process. They didn't seem to keep track of who ordered what, were serving people out of order in line..kind of chaotic and made the wait a bit longer. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it was just because they were busy on a Friday night, so maybe the next time will be a little easier to go through the line. Pizza still delicious so 4 stars. Yay!

This was my first time here, I decided to come here based on Yelp reviews - and I was glad I did. What a cool just like Chipotle but with pizza. Nice fresh ingredients, fresh dough, tasty sauces, and a pizza with the toppings you want, cooked in less than 10 mins and under $10. Great portion size too. Cons: 1) For the pepsi and coke lovers, they did not have coke or pepsi products, 2) the tables were all long benches and there was not a lot of seating, and there were trays/pizza remains left by dine in customers that had not been cleaned up as I sat there for the entire 1/2 hr. However, a guy did come wipe down the other side of the table - and while he did that, asked me how everything was. Good customer service from everyone there. I didnt know what to order, it can definitely be a little overwhelming with all the choices (everything looks and sounds so good!), but the lady was patient with me as I finally decided upon a kiss & fire. It was a little hot for my taste but still delicious. I will go back again when I am in the area, and also recommend others to do so.

&Hello! You come for pizza &you discover they have just a little bit more to offer this isn't a Sbarros, this is expertly crafted freshness with fun & interesting flavors ready to tantalize your taste buds with each bite! The Farmer's daughter, the Gnarlic, & the Maverick are MUST tries, seriously, they even have a little kick to them which make me squeal with delight! You don't have to get their signature pizzas if you have something else in mind, they are fully prepared to make any kind of pizza you want with the ingredients on premise, everything is customizable here, if you're disappointed at the end, maybe it was your choice in toppings. :P &Drinks, yes they have soda but not that average everyday stuff or that cheap generic kind, these are handcrafted bubblies packed with refreshing flavors like the Pear Elixir or Black Cherry Cola. Personally I recommend having the RootBeer, it's got that just-made-yesterday bite that makes your tongue smile. This location is still new but they are working to bring in beer and wines which will include mostly local craft brews from around the DMV and a house-label wine that the company itself is seem to be really excited about. If their pizza &sodas are any inclination, there will only be more WOW factors to come! Did I mention they make their own mozzarella too, you can watch them preparing, pulling, mixing it at a little station to the right as soon as you walk in. Really neat to see how it's done. Which brings me to another quick comment, you can watch your pizza being made fresh from the exact moment you order it starting with a dough bal. There's nothing hidden here, FRESH &FRESH &FRESH!

As part of a Yelp event, we got to try several menu items. It is based out of NY and there are a few in DC. This is the first one in VA. I liked the Don Goat salad. It was well mixed and every bite was flavorful. I liked the roasted onion dressing. The flat bread it is served with was surprisingly simple and delicious. We tried the back yard garden pizza (my favorite), the the farmers daughter pizza (spicy!), and the maverick pizza (meat lovers). The crust is thin and toppings plentiful. The house made craft sodas are good. I tried the pear and fig elixir (my favorite), the mango passion, and the dark cherry cola. We tried the dessert pizza, the Lori lane. It was delicious and tasted like pie. I recommend it! Bathroom was a single and very clean. Love loud music in a bathroom! Prefer paper towels to the wind drying my hands. Hook on the back of the bathroom door was precariously small to hold my big purse Free postcards. Loved it! I'll be back!

Our first stop on our Yelp elite restaurant tasting tour was here to &Pizza!! This was my second time to &Pizza- the first location I visited was on K street in NW DC and both times experienced friendly staff with great positive attitudes and welcoming feeling. I have to start by saying Nick-associate and Stephanie- manager did a fantastic job with explaining the concept, history of where the company started (NY) and describing the wonderful ingredients in their food. We tried three pizza variations which were the backyard garden pizza, farmers market pizza with choice of you would like your egg on your pizza and the maverick with meats. Tried two salads and for dessert we had the Lori Lane: which is a mind blowing White Chocolate Sauce, Four Berry Blend, White Chocolate Sweet Ricotta Cream, Powdered Sugar, Agave Syrup, and to wash all this down was my favorite the crafted soda machine with dazzling flavors: mango&passion fruit, pear&fig elixir, and the modern take of my childhood fav burdock&anise root beer yummy!!!

So friendly so helpful and so good! Had the Greek pizza. You go thru the line and pick your crust, type of pizza and toppings. Basically all for one price. Load it up if you want. Switch out things suggested to other things... they make it right there. So its hot when you get it! It just takes a little while. But enough time to download the app and fill out all the info. Its kind of a rewards program. Enter your credit card and pay with the app... and at certain milestones you get rewards. So pizza was ready. And it was delicious! Its kind of fun to play with what toppings you want! Not a huge fan of the fountain drinks though. Not to my taste. But they will give you a cup for water. Eating is family style to be prepared to share a table with other unless you are doing take out.

Our first time to try the pizza here. It's personalize pizza and you can top with so many different sauce from original tomato, spicy tomato, garlic, spinach pesto and so much more. You have the option to put shredded cheese or fresh mozzarella with many toppings as you wish. At the end when the pizza is done, they ask you if you want more grated Parmesan cheese on top. They also have home made soda to your satisfaction. The price is a bit high but I do have to say we did enjoy our pizza.

&pizza crosses the bridge and finds another home at Springfield Town Center. Like other &pizza locations, this one is small with the centerpiece being the pizza assembly line. It's the Chipotle of pizza. I did the create your own pizza and my fiance did one of their meat pizzas. He was very impressed with the value and quality of the pizza. I loved my make my own. I did the traditional crust, basil pesto sauce, spinach, broccoli, bacon, house made mozzarella, cracked egg, and arugula. Gooey and messy, it brings back childhood memories of eating pizza, but with grown up flavors and tastes. My fiance had one suggestion, they should give pagers at this location. You really have to keep track of your pizza because if you're not careful, someone might walk off with your pizza. But overall, welcome to STC &pizza.

I've only been here one time, but that one time was enough to make me a believer. It may seem like a gimmicky concept, but the quality and taste of the ingredients is what makes it different. You have 2 options when you come here: a pizza off of their menu w/ set toppings, or a custom one. I opted for the custom one, and chose the whole grain crust with classic tomato sauce, mozzarella lots of veggies, chicken, feta cheese, and basil. They pre-roll out a fresh pizza crust before adding most of the toppings, although there are still topping options like oils/herbs to put on top after it's come out of the oven. I'm normally not someone who craves pizza, but I would definitely return here over and over again! The crust was thin, but still chewy, and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. They definitely don't skimp on toppings either; if you ask for chicken you will get chicken in every bite. I also love that they don't charge extra no matter how many toppings you get (unless you want shrimp). I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu! The possibilities are seriously endless.

I have to say, this is some of the best vegan pizza I've ever had. I'm an avid Brixx fan, but finally I've found something even better. &pizza has falafel and vegan imitation beef crumbles, Brixx doesn't. They also have authentic Daiya cheese. I speak for veg heads everywhere, THANK YOU. Also, their soda is pretty good and I don't usually drink soda. My only dilemma is the space, it's so crowded. The tables are not of good quality. When you're serving such great pizza, you should have a decent atmosphere to complement the masterpiece.

By far the best place you can get pizza in town. They have thin crust pizza that they make right in front of you and the best part is that you can choose from endless toppings that they have and they let you put as many topping you want on your pizza!(They only charge extra for the shrimp). First you decide on the type of pizza dough you want. They have a traditional dough and an ancient grain (looks like whole wheat?), and gluten free dough. After you pick the dough you want, they let you choose from so many sauces. They even let you do different sauces on half the pizza or they let you mix sauces! You can be super creative here! Then you get to pick all the toppings you want! They have so many toppings for you to choose from. They have an assortment of vegetables like mushrooms, peppers, onions, spinach, so much more. And then you pick all the protein you want! Yes, this is crazy but true. They have chicken, sausage, bacon, and even eggs! (They put TWO eggs on your pizza for you!) Then, they put your pizza through an oven and make it fresh and hot for you right in front of your eyes! Okay... And that's not all... After you pizza is done, then they ask you for what toppings you want on top of your cooked pizza. They have a separate topping bar for that! At this step, they have olives, arugula, basil, sun dried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, and so many different sauces! What an awesome and fun place to enjoy some good quality pizza at a low cost (about 10$) and great service too! Workers were super friendly and eager to help you out/ explain everything. Seriously go right now and give this place a try if you haven't yet!!:)

First time at &pizza and it lived up to the hype. My 7yr old step son and I shared a pizza with spinach, mushrooms & pepperoni and even he gobbled it up. Can't wait to try more variations!

I got the Farmers Daughter and enjoyed each bite. I probably should have stopped about halfway, but it was so good I kept right on eating. I chose a speciality, but loved the idea that you could pick your own toppings from their endless array of fresh items. Next time I will definitely try building my own. Also, I have to give a shout out to their fresh mozzarella. Whatever pizza you get, make sure to get mozzarella. After digesting a bit... I upgraded from 4 stars to 5! The combination of taste, quality and convenience can't be beat!

You really can't go wrong with pizza and defiantly can't go wrong with pizza made/designed to order!! Winner!! There are a couple locations through the dc area so the pizza joint branched off and has a location at the mall. Quick, hot, fresh pizza under $10. You can also choose to have one of there homemade soda choices. They have a 8 signature pizzas to choose from and the one that sang to me was the garlicky one. Sooooo tasty!!! The best part of this whole deal is you can add or take away as much or as little as you want!! Bring your creative mind and adventurous appetite!!

Wow what a first time! The concept here is like Pizzanese and Spinfire if you have ever had those. It's basically a Chipotle, where you go down the line and choose your own personal pizza with toppings. Goes through the oven for a couple minutes and then arrives at your table hot. I really enjoy this concept and I also love that their soda machine is all homemade sodas like black cherry cola, root beer and mango passionfruit soda, which was my favorite. Came here with my family and we ordered 3 pizzas. One of the staff came to me and said we are making you another one because yours got stuck going through the oven. I laughed because I thought maybe I put too much meat. So I'm waiting while my family eats their pizza and she comes and brings me this pizza with all this mushroom (which I hate extremely). I'm like ok maybe they thought one of the meats was actually mushroom? So I went back to the employee and told her what I put on my pizza and this definitely wasn't it. A guy overheard me, came over and he's like oh I think that might be my pizza...while he's eating one of my slices. So I wait another couple minutes for a new pizza while my family is on their last 2 pieces. The manager overheard what happened and he gave me a card for a free pizza next time, which was really nice. Also, the employee who dealt with me came over and offered me a cookie which would be on her. Everyone was very kind and apologetic. They both came over after and made sure I enjoyed the pizza. I did enjoy the pizza but I probably wouldn't get the chicken again. It was still cold after and it just didn't taste right with the pizza. The pizza itself was hot but the chicken was cold, weird? Besides that the pizza itself was delicious, the dough was a crispy thin crust, not flemsy at all. Big pieces of italian sausage and pepperoni. And they don't skimp on the toppings! I tried my moms pizza, The Maverick with the basil pesto on top...sooo good! It gives a nice finishing touch to the pizza. Definitely have to get that on my next pizza. I love this concept of getting a custom pizza and it was very cheap ($9/pizza) and a good size too. I would come here again if I came to Springfield Mall.

I love love LOVE that you can build your own pizza and so does my bf who is a pizza fanatic! Thankfully, &pizza is now located in Springfield Town Center so that we both don't have to drive into DC just to try this place out (we both hate driving into DC unless we have to). Anywho, my bf got one of their specialty pizzas while I chose to make my own! I love how you can choose the dough, sauce, and toppings that you want! Both of our pizzas were DELICIOUS and I loved the soda selections from the fountain as well. Will definitely be back! Probably one of the best pizza's I've ever had lol..

I am so glad finally in my area there is an amazing pizza place. My husband and I got one and shared it was very filling. Can't get any fresher than that. They are super fast too so if the line is long don't leave, stay in line and try this pizza. They also have their own "soft drinks." I didn't try them but I will next time now that I know they are customized drinks. By the way you can customize any pizza but I just ordered off the menu. Very good. Seats are community style so don't be shy about squeezing yourself in. But beware there are no room for big groups.

The Chipotle of (enter cuisine type) is my favorite food concept ever. Thank goodness for &pizza for introducing us to the pizza iteration of this awesome and amazing idea. This location has a small shop but the line moves quickly. Communal seating. Delicious and very diverse menu of crusts/sauces/toppings. Superb staff and friendliness. Modern, industrial, chic looking space. Such a nice change from a lot of low-ambiance, snobby pizza joints. The quality of ingredients is surprisingly good. Love that you can customize everything to your heart's content (even add on to the signature pies). I sampled the Farmer's Daughter and Maverick (two most popular choices), the Lori Lane dessert pizza (soo good), and a new salad option (good and all but...you could be eating pizza!). All pretty darn tasty. The pizza is such a great value considering the options/price of under $10! I think I'd prefer to make my own pizza combo next time (half and half pie) since the signature selection of sauces/meat toppings just didn't appeal to me. The classic tomato sauce is really good here (liked it better than the spicy). Once I make my own pie up, I'll be updating this review (hopefully with 5 stars). Also there's a range of colorful, house-made fusion sodas. Mango passion fruit, fig berry, etc. They are kind of one note in flavor though so not as exciting as I was expecting. They currently have 15 total locations in the DMV with a majority in DC. I recommend going on their facebook page to suggest that they open in other locations that you prefer. They're very much in an expansion phase right now and looking for feedback from customers.

Great pizza! Even has dairy free/gluten free cheeses/bread for those with allergies. I got the spicy version (without the mushrooms) and it tasted really good with the strawberry balsamic sauce or whatever. Some of the girls working there didn't look too happy about their job (maybe because they were tired since the place was about to close for the day), but the guys working there seemed to be really nice/enthusiastic. One guy was going around to every table while he was wiping them down and asking folks if they were enjoying their pizza.

Great pizza place absolutely love the concept. You create your own pizza from the very beginning. You pick the dough, sauce, meat, toppings, and there so many choices! The first time I was a bit disappointed but that was my own fault. Be careful with what you choose and you can even ask for samples to taste a sauce etc before they add it on to your pizza. It's fresh and delicious!

This place deserves each and every star! This location us easy to get to with ample parking. The staff was real welcoming and patient with me as this was my first visit. The dough was thin, chewy, and expertly made. They have a variety of sauces, toppings, and cheeses. I chose the make your own and it was delicious!

Mama Mia it's a delicious pizza! Hands down, my favorite pizza spot, EVER! You can choose your own crust, sauce and toppings. Everything is fresh and delicious! The soda selection is on point and they even have a delicious bottled mint green tea. SOLD!

YUMMY! That's all I can really say about this place. One of the my loves in my life is of pizza, one of my favorite foods. &Pizza is such a unique concept it is hard to find any other pizza place that compares. Except, it being the Chipotle of pizzas. The menu consists of salads, and pizza recipes already created, or the option of concocting your own. The create-your-own option allows you to choose the dough, sauce, toppings and basically anything else you want. There is so many options so feel free to pile it on. And it's all under $10! About 8 slices in a pizza so it can be shared. &Pizza also has unique soda flavors. My favorite was the Mango Passionfruit and Ginger Berry Lemonade. I had a pizza on traditional dough, with spicy tomato sauce, 39 Day Aged Pepperoni, salami, roasted red peppers, Quattro Formaggi blend cheese, extra Parmesan Cheese, and topped off with the garlic oil. It was wonderful! I wish I could of brought home the leftovers, but it would not have survived the ride back home in the terrible heat. Extremely prompt service, clean, and tasty. Can't wait to go back!

Came here and sampled several delicious pizzas. I love the customized pizza concept, for you select it all: dough, toppings, and sauce, for pizza magic. That's right, little chefs, you select the ingredients and send your creation down the conveyor belt oven. The result is a pizza that is all yours; however, if playing master pizza-maker is not your thing, then order off &pizza's set menu, which was what we did, and we were not disappointed in the least. : I thought all of the pizzas we sampled were deliciously unique. Although &pizza's dessert pizza was amazing--who doesn't love berries and cream--my favorite pie was the garlic cheese bad boy...Yum and double Yum! When I am in the area again, I'm certain that I will drop in for another superb pizza experience. I believe this little ditty, a homage to the Beverly Hillbillies and pizza, pretty much sums up my satisfaction with &pizza and the elite event: Come and listen to a story about a man named Jeff A poor pizza boy, barely kept his addiction fed, Then one day he was looking for some grub, And out of &pizza's oven came something tastier than a sub. Pizza that is, cheesy gold, Italian nauch Well the first thing you know ol Jeff's without a pizza care, Fellow Yelpers said "Jeff they've got more than just pepperoni over here" Said "&pizza is the place you ought to be" So they loaded up a plate that was just for me. Pizza, that is. Mozzarella cheese, artisan crust.

Fresh ingredients and great pizza! Reasonably priced, spend 24 dollars when my boyfriend and i each get our own pizza, 12 if we share. Definitely allows for thinking outside the box with eggs as a pizza topping choice. I definitely recommend trying a menu item at least once, they look like crazy creations but they taste soooo good! Otherwise they have vegan and vegetarian options. Great craft sodas. And you can definitely create your own. I found the spicy tomato sauce and fresh jalapeño combo to be too much spice for me (they leave seeds in peppers). But it was still really good. Always great service and haven't had to wait in too long of lines. They really keep the line moving! Favorite pizza place thus far! Can't wait for dave and busters to open, then i'll eat pizza before heading over to play games! There is also tutti frutti across hall if yo crave dessert after. &Pizza has dessert but i'll admit i'm always too full to try it... One of these days though i'll order it!

Customizable, artisanal pizzas for ~$10?! SIGN ME UP! &pizza is a relatively new addition to Springfield Town Center (it's located on the 1st floor across from Tutti Frutti). I definitely think I visited &pizza on an off day because the service was pretty lackluster. The line moves really, REALLY slow. This pizzas don't spend that much time in the oven, so I'm not too sure what's slowing down the assembly line. Anyway, my brother, my boyfriend, and I each ordered one of their signature pizzas (2 Mavericks, 1 Gnarlic). Upon ordering any of their signature pizzas, the guy working the dough shouts your order down to the toppings people in the assembly line, so they can quickly throw the pre-fixed toppings onto the pizza. We get to the toppings people and they give us blank stares. "What do you want on the pizza?" My boyfriend tells them that he ordered 2 Mavericks and 1 Gnarlic. Again, blank stares and another, "What do you want on the pizza". I then had to jump in and clarify that since we ordered the signature pizzas, we want what's listed on the menu. Bit of a struggle there just to order 3 pizzas. My pizza (Gnarlic) turned out just fine. I thought it was a decent pizza, and I mean you can't really beat $10 for a fancy schmancy pizza, can you? Plus, the pizzas are pretty generous, perfect for taking home as leftovers. My boyfriend and brother also really enjoyed their pizza...except for the fact that their pizzas were unbearably spicy. So spicy that they were sweating and had to stop in between bites. I'll preface this by saying that my boyfriend and brother are pretty accustomed to spicy foods, so I was pretty surprised to see them having such a hard time eating. I tried a bite, and it was the Spicy Tomato spread that was so spicy. Not sure why their pizzas had the Spicy Tomato spread on it to begin with when the menu clearly states that the Maverick comes with their Classic Tomato spread. TL;DR - I'm gonna give them the benefit of the doubt and say that they were having an off day. Pizzas were good. Service was not. I'm definitely willing to give &pizza another go, but for now my rating stands at 3 stars.

Let me get this out of the way: order the Maverick signature pizza. Thank me later. Stopped by here a couple of days ago and got the Maverick and also created our own pizza. There seemed to be a manager's meeting going on and they stopped what they were doing to make sure our pizza came out how we liked it and to explain the finishes on the pizza. Customer service at its finest! Now let's see if they come through on that &pizza crewneck... :)

This is like a chipotle for pizza! You pick your dough, sauce, cheese and your toppings and then even garnishes at the end and by the time you get to the end of the line, your pizza comes out fresh! Good value for the money...I wish they had combo specials! The only other thing I could criticize is this Asian lady at the assembly line was not pleasant (did toppings) and a little rude grr..everyone else was fine. For the flavor and how good the sauce, mozzarella etc. was I will def go back!

This is really REALLY good pizza! It's quick, customizable, and delicious. For under $10, you can get unlimited toppings for a personal pizza or pick one from &pizza's specialty list. Some toppings are run of the mill - tomatoes, mushrooms, spinach, meats - but others are unique - basil, fig marsala, spicy chickpeas, and strawberry balsamic. There are different sauces to choose from - I got the spicy tomato sauce (it wasn't spicy to me) and the red chili oil (spicy, but my mouth wasn't burning). The fig marsala is FANTASTIC. The basil leaves are fresh, and the chick peas are a nice little add on. The possibilities are truly endless here. I've also heard the dessert pizza is great. It has berries and a honey drizzle. It isn't too sweet and a nice ending to a pizza meal. Furthermore, the sodas here are interesting flavors. I like the berry ginger beverage - even though there isn't much ginger flavor, it's sweet and refreshing alongside a savory pizza. The people working here are peppy and friendly. They speak clearly and are patient while you make your decisions. They do not skimp on the toppings! On my most recent visit, my pizza had too much of a crust on the tail ends of the pizza. I wish it didn't, but it was still very tasty. This particular location is very clean. I wish it was larger and had more tables though. Bottom line: if you're in the area and are looking for a quick meal, this place will do the trick! It's faster than nearby Nando's Peri Peri and other sit down restaurants. There are so many options here; you will be pleased!

I have been waiting patiently for an $pizza to arrive closer to Springfield, but one in Springfield, outstanding. My wife was lucky enough to hit this location before I did. She brought me in a few days later and grabbed three pizzas. For me, the Kiss & Fire, extra meatball, no mushroom. Fantastic. I ordered the same for my kids but with the original sauce instead of spicy. The staff here was amazing. They were totally upbeat and worked together as a team. I mean they were pumping these pizzas out like crazy. The standard fair of &pizza's fantastic selection of toppings is available so no disappointment there. Also, they have multigrain crust available and it is just about as awesome as the original. This is great place to stop in. &pizza serves up some of my favorite pizza and it's now available in Springfield.

If you want a fresh pizza with all fresh ingredients, handmade in front of you, the way you like it, you will absolutely love this place!!! The workers are nice and attentive. They also have a nice selection of drinks and handmade crafted sodas. The pink lemonade and ginger was my favorite.

I have been hearing alot of buzz about &pizza and seen it featured at a couple of Yelp events, but I never had the chance to try it (due to really long lines at the events) until now. I have no idea why it took me so long! This create-your-own pizza is super affordable and yummy. All the ingreditents are fresh and it's made your way right in front of you. The staff was really friendly and helpful and made good recommendations with what pairs well together. Best flatbread pizza I have had.

Total perfection in pizza form, that's what &pizza's brand spankin' new Springfield Town Center location offers. From the fresh, hand-made mozzarella (you can see it being rolled yourself!) to the plethora of amazing toppings, the sky's the limit when it comes to delicious 'za! There are several preset pizza combinations you can choose from, or if you're more of a Choose Your Own Adventure type, you can go rogue and design your pizza from scratch! First up, choose from their traditional crust or ancient grain crust (fancy), and then move down the assembly line to, uh, assemble your pie. Heh. You move along the the row adding this and that until your creation is complete. First, it's time to get saucey. You choose from traditional or spicy tomato sauce, pesto, truffle sauce (OMG SO GOOD), and a couple others I didn't ask about. Then you can add a layer of spinach to be baked under the cheese (I'm all about that hidden nutrition!), and your cheese -- either a four-cheese blend, their house-made mozzarella, or even Daiya vegan cheese for those who are dairy-free! There are a few other toppings that you can add at this point too: mushrooms, grilled onions, and your meats. They've got a good assortment of the usual: chicken, spicy sausage, pepperoni, etc. Then, your pizza goes through the toaster thingamajigger, and comes out the other side all fresh-baked and beautiful! Now you can add some finishing touches: want to sprinkle some proscuitto on there? Add a few sundried or cherry tomatoes? How about some arugula or fresh basil? Or maybe a little extra cheesiness in the form of goat cheese or feta? Seriously, the topping options are seemingly endless. Finally, you can add a little extra drizzle of deliciousness on at the end in the form of some garlic oil, marsala fig reduction, or other delicious sounding things. Whew! So, my very first custom &pizza creation ended up looking like this: grain crust, truffle sauce, spinach, both types of cheese (teehee), chicken, proscuitto, cherry tomatoes, and a drizzle of garlic oil at the end. It. Was. Phenomenal. I ate the entire thing. Well, I ate half of it... and then really did try to be good and boxed up the rest to take home... but then totally housed the rest in the car. NO JUDGING. All of this for less than $9 really is a great deal, especially because you're getting fresh, quality ingredients that can very easily add up to a rather high-end pizza! The trickiest part is not overdoing it on the toppings front, frankly! &pizza also offers an awesome, unique soda fountain, with awesome flavors like pear and fig, mango-something, and a seriously delicious old-fashioned root beer. The physical location itself isn't huge, but it's got a nice communal table to enjoy your pie in-house, or if you're picking up to go, it's right on the outside of the (also shiny and new) Springfield Town Center so it's very easy to pop in and out. I personally am PSYCHED that &pizza is finally setting down roots in Northern VA, and I'm sure I'll be a very frequent customer. I've got so many flavor combos to try, after all!

Went here recently. Holy grail of pizza. It was 9.50 for unlimited toppings which was great for me because i pretty much like every topping in the book. The crust was perfectly crisp and not too doughy. The sauces were incredible. I really can't say enough. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!

&Pizza is sort of a pizza version of a Subway or Chipotle. Its "fast food" style pizzas aren't nearly as good as those from restaurants that use a wood fired oven. However, I like the &Pizza's concept, and they still serve up a pretty decent pizza. They have about a half dozen suggested pizza recipes, or you can select everything yourself -- from a couple dough options, to several sauces, a few cheeses, and about a dozen (maybe more, I didn't count) toppings. The toppings include most expected items (sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, etc), but also include some less common items (examples: falafel, broccoli, fresh jalapeños). However, curiously, some common items are absent (examples: no green peppers, no raw onions). They also have several "finishers" -- toppings you can add after the pizza comes out of the oven (examples: arugula, prosciutto, etc.). One cheese option is house-made mozzarella, which I had on my pizza. Although I like the concept of house-made mozzarella, it's execution was a little off. The mozzarella came in a ball and the person who assembled my pizza tore off pieces and put them on my pie. Unfortunately, the pieces were quite large and they didn't melt very well in the oven. Speaking of the oven, I believe that is the biggest drawback to &Pizza's concept. They use small conveyor-belt style electric ovens and the pizza is only inside for 2-3 minutes. A combination of the baking time and temperature wasn't enough to crisp the entire crust, nor sufficiently melt my mozzarella. My four-star rating is a bit generous -- the pizza I had was three stars (at best) -- however, like I mentioned at the beginning, I like &Pizza's concept.

First of all I LOVE that they have an alternative pizza dough dubbed "Ancient Grains" which is stone milled flour. This place has just so many options it's almost overwhelming-- from their signature pizzas along with the option to build your own, the possibilities are endless! To build your own you choose a type of dough, sauce/spread, cheese, protein toppings, and vegetable toppings. (They cater to vegetarians and vegans as well). Everything is readily made in front of you with fresh ingredients and the wait for the food is hardly a long one. It is located inside the mall and the place is not big itself, so seating is somewhat limited. Not the absolute best pizza I've ever had, but nonetheless still delicious, very convenient, and inexpensive! We piled on so many things and it came out to be a tasty concoction; one pizza is big enough to share between 2 hungry individuals. They also have interesting sodas like mango passion, etc. Suffice it to say, I'll be back if ever I have a craving for some truffle oil pizza! PS: Really good place for Type A/ extra particular people like myself :P

I love love love & Pizza !! When I was sitting at a red light on day and this bus pulled up next to me showing a advertisement for & Pizza at the Springfield Town Center I was sooooooooooooo happy !!!! I travel all the way to H st in Washington DC to have it !! This location is clean and neat. friendly staff & the lines aren't quit as long, so that was a plus to be in and out !! Better try soon bc I'm sure the lines will be crazy out the door for this hidden gem! Creat your own pizza- fresh ingredients and you can add how much of whatever you want !!!! Plus it's reasonable and won't break your pockets !!

Have you ever feel in love and then had your heartbroken??? That's how I feel about this place. My friends told me this was a great place and best of all it had GLUTEN FREE and LACTOSE free pizza with the freshest ingredients. You know healthy me was super excited to make this my family's go to pizza place AND my cheat meal spot. The first time I went they rAn out of GF but feeling determined I came back. The GF pizza was the best. I had spinach, artichoke, eggplant and mushrooms. YUM. I was in love. The next time I went there after crazing it for weeks. I stood in a long line (which would of been week worth it) until the manager told me no more GF pizza. They were only trying it out for a month. And the only place they had it was in Rockville. (Of course it would of been nice to be told that... When I they ate there the last time.) So if you have food sensitivities, you may feel me when I say.... That I was not so happy having to drive home with pizzas for the rest of my family and for me.... I had to go home and make dinner. Maybe they will bring it back!

First time it did not make me sick yesterday. I'm not sure what causes me to be ill from this menu but yesterday was great! I usually get the same thing so perhaps there were less flies in the ingredients this time. I didn't see any like I usually do. Great job.

Love this place! Unlimited toppings for $9 is such a deal and the pizzas are freshly baked which I love. I ordered the truffle mushroom pizza with smoked bacon and arugula and my bf ordered the gnarlic pizza with salami I think? Both were amazing and I was stuffed after eating half the pizza! Even though their pizza crust is more like a naan I actually really liked it. Little crispy and a little chewy. They have their own house made sodas which are okay, a little to sweet for me. Definitely will be going back whenever I'm craving pizza!

Stumbled across this pizza joint after writing a review for another venue at Springfield town center and glad I did. It's rad to find a pizzeria that offers other than the usual pepperoni smothered pie. For my first time I opted to try a signature pizza; Farmer's daughter on ancient grains, as my husband had the maverick. Never would I think to have farm eggs on a pizza, but wow it was good. The drinks are amazing too. My family and I will be repeat customers at least until we move back to the west coast in April. Hopefully, one day, the owners will consider opening a place like this on the west (San Diego , Ca).

Exceptional experience. Something about crafting your own gourmet pizza is rewarding in itself. But the quality of ingredients and the truly unique selection really drive home the experience. Communal tables and involved and passionate employees are terrific benefits. Private label soda and oil for the pizzas are other well thought out touches. I enjoyed the spicy sauce and every meat ever. But there's something for everyone quite honestly. The portions are far more than fair. I highly recommend.

Bottomline: If there are a lot of people in line don't expect good customer service. If you don't mind repeating yourself, perhaps waiting longer for them to make the correct pizza you requested in the first place this place won't disappoint you. I visited &pizza shortly after it opened and I had a bad experience my first time. You can read my prior review if you want to know what happened exactly. After reading my Yelp review, Sam the manager reached out to me and offered to provide me 3 pizza vouchers for me to give them another chance. I have held onto them for a long time but just yesterday I decided to use those vouchers to see if things have changed. My gf and I ordered the Maverick and Backyard Garden, the party in front of us ordered 4 pizzas so there was major confusion between the staff. One of the pizzas they requested was the farmers daughter, however instead of making a farmers daughter they made a backyard garden (confusion between my order and theirs). When the pizzas came out of the oven they were short one and there was an extra backyard garden. The staff was apologetic and told them they were going to remake one however it seemed like they weren't in the mood to wait any longer so they just opted to take the backyard garden. This time the staff did not mess up my order, I just had to wait a bit for them to sort out the confusion but that's expected. The quality of the pizza was decent especially for the price you pay. I think &pizza can improve their service drastically if they stop yelling out the orders down the line. In this case I believe going back to the good old paper and pen method would very beneficial or even using technology to take the orders. I don't necessarily blame the workers for messing up especially when it is busy. On a brighter note, I can attest and say that all their signature pizzas are delicious. I was able to try all of them at a Yelp elite event. Decent pizza for a decent price but poor service, especially when it is crowded. If you look past the service then &pizza is a great addition to Springfield Town Center.

This place has an excellent concept in making pizza. You customize your pizza by ordering it like chipotle style. You choose your dough...sauces...then cheeses...then protein...let it bake...then throw on some oils. I got the grain dough...with four cheese blend...topped with sausage, salami ,and mushrooms and oregano.oil. It took less than 10 mins to make. I love pizza...and I.have my favorite spots...but this place made me smile. It all costs around $10 and they make their own sodas. I recommend! Can you guys make one in Tampa bay area ?

The pizza dough is ancient grain or regular. Toppings we always fresh and you can add anything to them. I like the Farmer's Daughter, a sausage pizza with two eggs cooked to order and add basil at the end. The specialty sodas are good but nothing to call home about.

My wife and I were visiting DC for a couple days and were in the mood for pizza. Used Yelp to help with a choice of restaurant for really good pizza. We settled on &pizza and we were not disappoint. First let me say that this not a sit down and order place, I would liken it to Subway with pizza but higher quality ingredients. My wife had the traditional crust with classic tomato sauce, four cheese blend, and sausage. I had the traditional crust Maverick (sausage, pepperoni, and salami) with mushrooms added, classic tomato sauce, and fresh mozzarella. I would suggest one pizza per person because the crust is quite thin and most people could easily eat one. My wife really liked hers, however she thought the sausage was a little spicy, she cannot handle spice at all so I would take that with a grain of salt on the spiciness factor. Mine was fantastic also however it was a little watery which I would contribute to the fresh mozzarella, but still a great pizza. Now as far as the crust goes we thought it was excellent. We are from St. Louis and love thin crust pizza, I would say &pizza's crust between a thin and traditional crust. The crust was crunch and not too doughy, which I find perfect. Also, get the homemade soda that is from a fountain. My wife had the root, which we both thought was some of best we have ever had, I went with the black cherry cola, again fantastic. I would give this a five star rating however it is pricey and you do all the work.

Awesome service!! It was my first time here and Everyone there was sweet and helpful. Not sure if he was manager or not, but he but tall dark skinned person. He came up to us asking how everything was going and if we liked that pizza. He allow us to try all the different type of sodas that &pizza made, which was phenomenal! I would awesomely come back to try different other types of pizza!

This place is the chipotle of pizza, but don't get the egg if you don't like yours runny and uncooked :x but my boyf and I have been here about 5x and every single time we have had a great experience. We also get to try everything because the toppings are free and you can make it as you want. I have nothing else to say because everyone in this place is EXTREMELY nice and it's great. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the egg and the fact that they don't have any other locations near me aka in Cville.

Ever since the fantastic elite event at &pizza, I've been telling everyone about it and finally someone wanted to join me for dinner! haha What's better than a chipotle style restaurant? A chipotle style restaurant that creates amazing pizzas. This was my first time actually ordering from start to finish; the girl behind the counter walked my friend and I through the process, we both got original crust; I opted for the Gnarlic (it was my favorite from the event) and my friend did a make your own. I was asked if I wanted salami and I said no...it came with salami and I am SO glad it did..it added a great flavor and separation from garlic and sauce. My friend did the spicy tomato sauce, and loaded the toppings up, it was a little spicy but pretty delish! We got a couple of the neat sodas, I tried the lemonade- sooooo good, and my friend did the root beer, I'm not a fan of that flavor but apparently it was awesome too! I love the seating arrangement, I don't mind sitting next to strangers and enjoying a meal, I would've even loved if anyone wanted to chat (they didn't hahah). We left full and happy and I can't wait to bring more friends here.

If I could give this place six stars I would. This is the second trip here in less than two weeks, and I've already explained how fresh and expansive the topping selection is and how friendly the staff is, but I have to call out Christine who made our pies...I think I added over a dozen toppings and she was so cool about it. And the MOD was James who was also great. If I went anywhere else to get a pizza with a dozen toppings, it would cost more than twice as much, but here I got the ultimate pizza for under $10. Falafel crumbles and tzatziki sauce? Fig marsala finish? This place is the Sweet Frog of pizza joints...

&pizza specializes in "fast food" customizable pizza - genius - and are a welcomed addition to Springfield Town Center, the first location outside of the District. This was my first time eating at &pizza and it's rather embarrassing to admit considering its siblings have been in the city for quite a while. I have sampled all of their signature pizzas: Gnarlic, Kiss & Fire, Farmer's Daughter, Grecian Market, Moonstruck, Maverick, Backyard Garden, and Redvine (vegan). The Gnarlic, Farmer's Daughter, Maverick, and Redvine were my favorites (in that order). I would recommend Gnarlic to anyone who is a fan of garlic - I'm talkin' roasted garlic puree AND garlic oil. I would customize that one in the future by adding sausage. The Redvine pizza was my introduction to Daiya mozzarella cheese, which is vegan -- in fact, the entire pizza's vegan. You would've never guessed it! If you are picky, you can customize your pizza to your heart's desire for about $10. You'd be hard-pressed to find better mall dining options. Dessert was their Lori Lane, which is a sweet pizza consisting of white chocolate sauce, four kinds of berries, sweet ricotta (the bizness), powdered sugar, and agave syrup. Warm, flavorful, and amazing textures. I will order this and a savory pizza to share in the future. &pizza has soda fountain featuring the coolest of flavors: dark cherry cola, root beer, fig & pear, mango & passion fruit, ginger berry lemonade, and diet cola. I was able to try the root beer, fig & pear, and mango & passion fruit -- all very refreshing and most probably made with cane sugar (except the diet variety, of course). &pizza is located conveniently by one of the main doors, so you do not have to wander around the mall to find it. The space is on the small side, but I don't think finding a table will be that difficult. Staff are friendly and accommodating. I will be back!

mm ...hand crafted pies made before your eyes...assembled like the sub shop...,Actually quite good...not your average mall pizza...craft soda to top it off....Springfield town center has a winner...

For those of us who are old enough to recall Seinfeld being the most groundbreaking comedy to hit the tube in the 90s, who could forget Kramer's brilliant idea of pitching a business where one makes their own pizza pies customized to their own particular whim and fancy? Kramer: I'm telling you, people really want to make their own pizza pie. Jerry: I can't imagine anyone, in any walk of life, under any circumstance, wanting to make their own pizza pie -- but that's me. Kramer: One day, you'll beg me to make your own pie. Folks, that day has arrived @ &pizza, with its seventh location in the DMV in Springfield Town Center and several more locations slated to pop up. While I tend to approach semi-fast food joints focused on customizable dishes with caution since it's easy to label them as a "[insert ethnic cuisine] version of Chipotle", I don't think that label quite does this place justice since &pizza goes the extra mile with little touches in quality without compromising value and efficiency. Located at the front entrance of the mall, it is easy to access and even though the dining space is not too large, the long communal tables provide ample room to pack in more people and encouraging smells of everyone's personal pizza creations to be wafted amongst each other. Onto more important things, namely the pizza. One has the choice of 3 types of dough including a gluten-free option, 8 sauces including standards such as tomato and pesto while also veering into innovative ones such as mushroom truffle and red chickpea, and choice of 3 cheeses (housemade mozzarella, 4 cheese blend, and a vegan mozzarella) which can be mixed together on request. There is a plethora of fresh toppings that can then be added at this point including the usual suspects as well as farm fresh eggs, falafel crumbles, and shrimp. The pizza passes through a conveyer belt oven and one then has the option to apply finishing touches ranging from the traditional (parmesan reggiano, arugula, capers) to more adventurous drizzles of fig marsala, pineapple salsa, or tsasiki yogurt. I'll admit that pizza purists may shun this place and argue these pies tiptoe dangerously on the border of being mediterranean flatbreads, but if one were to close their eyes and take a bite, the crust can easily be mistaken for a decent Neopolitan crust with blistery pockets of dough and charred edges and a nice toothsome texture with just the right balance of structure and bite. For those who have traveled to Seattle, I would compare these to a poor man's Serious Pie. My advice for first-timers is to keep it simple rather than going crazy with too many toppings paired with finishing touches that may not necessarily harmonize together. For the indecisive, they have some signature combinations to keep one's head from exploding. Bonus points for their fountain drink section with homemade sodas including pear/fig, mango/passion fruit, burdock/anise rootbeer, and ginger/berry lemonade as well as a downloadable app that incentivizes loyal customers. Fortunately one does not have to shove one's own arms into a six hundred degree oven or worry about the guy pounding the dough not washing his hands, but @ &pizza one can make some serious artisanal pies for under 10 bucks that would garner Cosmo Kramer's "giddyup" of approval.

Great price, great service/hospitality, and great food! I'm so excited for this fast-casual create-your-own pizza concept! A large portion pizza with unlimited toppings for $9?! What a steal! Plus every employee asked us how our days were... and the manager even came around to ask us if we needed anything + take away our trash! I'll definitely be back and I'd recommend it to everyone! Try the ''gnarlic'' with salami, arugula, prosciutto & parmesan on top!

I loveeeeeeeeeeee this place. It's basically a Chipotle-style restaurant, but it's pizza. And it's really good. You have a lot of different choices in sauces and toppings. I went like ... 3 times in a week after first discovering it. Good quality, ingredients, service, and I think the price is a good match for what you get! Will definitely be coming back here whenever I want to get myself some pizza :)

Definitely one of my new go-to pizza places! Basically personal-sized pizzas made right in front of you. They have a list of their signature pizzas or you can create-your-own. The few times I've been here, I've made my own & my pizzas have always turned out great! You start by choosing your dough (traditional, ancient grains, or gluten-free), then you let them know whether you're creating your own & choose your sauce or choosing a signature pizza. If you choose to create-your-own, you choose from a variety of sauces, then choose which proteins & select toppings you want & it goes through the oven to be baked in a matter of seconds. The final step is to add finishes toppings (you can choose as many as you want & the toppings are so fresh) & then pre-cutting the pizza for you! My create-your-own pizza included ancient grains, traditional sauce, one of the types of mozzarella cheese, chicken, mushrooms, spinach, arugula, pineapple salsa (disappointed that they didn't have pineapple chucks but this will do), & sun-dried tomatoes. Also try the Lori Lane Dessert Pizza! So yummy & not too sweet but very savory! The staff is super friendly & I was surprised that even the guy that was making the mozzarella cheese greeted me & asked me how my day was. Overall, I love this pizza place & will definitely be back several times in the near future! Definitely recommending this place to all of my friends, keep up the great work guys!

This place is really great. Take the concept of chipotle and apply it to pizza and it'll give you &pizza. You can customize your own pizzas with any toppings and sauces you like with you choice of whole wheat or regular dough. It's fast and super delicious. They've got great selections of drinks as well all of which are craft unique flavors. You won't regret going.

This. Place. Is. Awesome!! The pizzas are perfectly sized to share or eat on your own. They have tons of gourmet artisan styles or you can make your own using a ton of gourmet artisan ingredients! Plus, it is so inexpensive, especially given the quality. The pizzas are baked right in front of you and surprisingly don't take very long! Make sure you try one of their homemade sodas - DELICIOUS! If they put one of these in Clarendon, it would make a killing and I would be there at least once a week!!!

  • Art N.

Went in somewhat dubious about a chipotle style pizza place but was pleasantly surprised with &pizza. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but came away somewhat surprised. You pick between two types of dough, eight types of sauces, three types of cheeses and numerous other toppings. It comes out in about three minutes, nice crust, cooked well..in my book a nice-tasting bargain for under 10 bucks---we'll be back!

This is the BEST & Pizza location ever in the history of the world. If you are in the area (or even if your not) go there, you won't regret it. James the manager is the Bomb, and the employees are friendly and helpful. Seriously the best pizza, it's amazeballs. #imnotevenkidding #pizzalove

This place is pretty neat. Its a Chipotle style pizzeria. You can choose from thier signature pizzas or build your own. You choose your dough and they have a huge selection of toppings as well as sauces. Tjey also have a special house made mozzarella that you can see being made. I love the house made soda. Its definitely worth checking out.

Guess what I had after a long day of Christmas shopping? Yes, &pizza! I went here for the first time today and I'm a happy camper! Their menu is simple... Choose a pizza combination or choose your own dough and toppings. They make it right in front of you and they make it FAST! Mine was a custom made and a traditional dough and a drink all for only $12! Very affordable! They also have handmade craft sodas. I had the burdock and anise rootbeer. They need more chairs though cause next time I'm bringing the whole family! Overall great place, great service, and great pizza joint! Awesome sauce!!! :)

This pizza place has something for everyone. 3 different types of crust and lots of toppings. The only down side is the line is always long.

Great pizza. Had a Backyard Garden with artichoke hearts and caramelized onions. Great price too...and one pizza is enough for two people.

I had heard great things about &pizza before the Springfield location opened, and it has more than lived up to my expectations! Nowhere else can you make a 20+ topping pizza for under $10. All of the sauces and ingredients are fresh and delicious, allowing you to create a unique combination every time! I really love the spicy tomato sauce... adds a tasty kick to every bite! The staff is incredible - consistently friendly and welcoming, providing superior customer service. Special recognition goes to Khrystine for knowing what it takes to go above and beyond! (If I could give a 6-star rating I would because of her!) I will be a loyal (and frequent) customer for years to come, as this is now my #1 go-to pizza place!

I had never visited the other &pizza location in DC prior to this visit so this was my first time trying them. I really really enjoyed this. I mentioned to some of the employees that this was my first time and was looking for them to help steer me in the right direction of what to choose because there are many options to choose from. I am happy to report, they were more than helpful and the recommendation they made was a home run. I had the Maverick. You can choose one of their signature pizzas or create your own. All the pizzas are the same size and i must say, I really like the one size fits all mentality here because the menu isn't cluttered with so many different size options you can really focus on the type of pizza you will be ordering. I paid close to $9 for my one man pizza but i found it to be very filling even for a big guy like myself. The flavors really popped. Everything tasted so fresh. Very memorable. They even had homemade soda. I only tired the cherry soda and it was good. Didn't give me the bloated feeling that a Coke or Pepsi would. All in all, it's so nice to have a pizza place back in Springfield Mall. It's just another home run addition to the already powerful resturant lineup they have with Chuy's, Yardhouse & Maggianos. Although I miss the old mall for nostalgic reasons, the dining options are one thing the new mall beats the old mall out of the water with.

&pizza was an amazing experience! I ordered the maverick pizza but I was able to add whatever I wanted to it, so I got the marinated mushrooms, extra cheese, kalmata olives, arugula, and goat cheese on top. The employees were all very friendly, and patient with me because I didn't quite know what I was doing when I was ordering. The pizza was AMAZING, the crust was chewy and golden, toppings cooked to perfection. It was so cheap too for what you get since the pizza is pretty huge! I also got the fig and pear elixir which was pretty tasty. I can't wait to come back and create new pizza combinations!

  • Vivian T.

I love this place! It's so conveniently close to my house. I love the toppings offered and the finished product has never disappointed. So perfectly thin and crispy :-) I was never a huge pizza person but &Pizza had changed that for me. I find myself craving it some days. the only down side is that there are peak hours when you could be waiting in line for a while :-/

  • Jodie L.

Love the crisp crust. Enough for a lite meal to share.a good selection of ingredients or get one of their combinations. I did not like their handcrafted diet cola. Try the berry ginger lemonade. Pizza is quick and hot. The manager, James is friend and endearing. We are in town for only a week and we are already regulars

I went back and did NOT get the egg on my pizza and WOW! I love the pizza. I think that this place really depends on ordering the perfect combo of ingredients for YOU. The staff. They were great! They led my buddy with dietary restrictions to a pizza he gave a 9/10. They were very friendly and joked around with us. The Soda! I come here for a medium cheat meal. The soda makes it worth it. All of the home made sodas are amazing!!! Next time I will have to try the cookies.

I've found my pizza! I just wish they delivered. I recently took a trip to NYC and ate delicious pizza. I have craved that taste ever since. I know about a few local spots that do NY style, but their crusts are always soggy. This place was perfect. The pizza is made to order. It's hot and crispy. The traditional tomato sauce is delicious. The cheese is perfect and I even like the grease level (You know it adds to the taste). I ordered the Maverick because I found all of the options overwhelming and just wanted to test their most traditional pepperoni-style pizza. I grabbed a menu so I could study and prepare for my next visit. Yes, I am serious about this pizza. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I explained that I had never eaten at &pizza and the cook explained the whole process. The other employees offered smiles and didn't seem bothered by my two toddler-age boys. The drink selection is a little odd. I'd probably just go for water or a root beer. My boys give the pizzelles 4 thumbs up.

  • Maggie M.

I love the ancient grains crust, the spicy tomato sauce, the house made mozarella, and all of the veggies. Everything is good, made to order, and fresh. The crust is pressed out thin so it's not overwhelming. Yum, yum!

Giving it three stars... Pizza is good; however, the style is just not for me... I prefer pizzas with big puffy, yeasty and tenacious crusts. Although the dough is fresh - - that style is just not here... Regardless recommend trying the place and checking it out for yourself. I can see why it is popular... Establishment is similar in style to a Subway or Chipotle. People go through a line, select ingredients and watch their pizza being made in real time. There is a wide variety of fresh ingredients and several sauces to choose from. By the time you pay the pizza is ready to go.

  • Aaron P.

Oh &pizza. You delicious so and so. I'm a guy. Guys like stuff. &pizza allows you to put as much stuff on your pizza as you want for a flat cost. Basically, I get enough meat on my pizza so that I can make the pizza stretch to two meals (and I eat a lot, like usually a Chipotle burrito doesn't completely fill me up). There's enough toppings that you will find some mixture of things you like, but it might take a few trips to figure out what that is. It's also large enough to split. It's like the Chipotle of pizza places. I would advise against getting the egg as it doesn't always cook and leaves half cooked egg all over your pizza which is pretty gross.

    (4)
  • Denise Z.

I would highly recommend this place if your looking for good quality artisan pizza. The ancient grain crust is crispy with enough hold for the toppings. I had the moonstruck because I'm a big consumer of cheese and fig sauce. Great choice with lots of fresh ingredients. The staff is very very friendly and efficient!

  • Steven L.

For fast, customizable, and vegetarian options this place has great pizza. The way it works is kind of like Potbelly's. You select the type of dough, then what type of pizza, you can also change the signature pizzas to accommodate your own tastes for example I got the gnarlic with shrimp instead of salami and it was quite tasty. The hand crafted sodas are also very good especially mango and passion fruit flavor. Now to the pitfalls of this place. 1) communal tables and not many seats so if you're shy or its busy make sure to take your pizza to go. 2) think crust only - custom pizza in less than 5 minutes so what can you expect? I'm a fan of pan or Chicago style pizza therefore I can only give four stars. Otherwise hit this place up for some tasty pizza and soda and then hit up the tutti frutti across the entrance.

  • Ellington W.

Always delicious. I really love their concept. What I don't love are some of the employees who are clearly miserable. The cashier was absolutely dreadful today.

My 3rd time here. It was my husband's first time and he didn't know what to get. I suggested the maverick since that was the first pizza that I ever ordered from here. He added a few touches like shredded mozzarella , feta and parm. He is a cheese guy lol. I split a create your own with my daughter. Husband said it was the best pizza he ever had.

    (5)
  • Lynn L.

Custom making a pizza is such a great idea! With suggestions from staff, we made the best pizza I had ever had. They have a variety of sauces and a ton of fresh ingredients. Very reasonable prices. Two people can easily split one pizza. Will definitely make &pizza a regular pit stop.

  • Jim N.

Awesome. Recently read about this place and thought we would check it out for lunch. Got the tour of the process from GM James who is a nice guy. Entire staff was great. Pizzas were fabulous and so were the craft sodas. Ordered the Maverick and farmers daughter. I liked the spicy tomatoes. They also have a rewards app you can download. Definitely going back and will tell all my friends.

This is one of our new favorite places! Every time we go, I'm impressed. Super fresh ingredients, pizza made kind of like chipotle makes burritos

    (5)
  • Nelson B.

Its Chipotle but for pizza. Huge variety of toppings for a single price. Typically for pizza, you'll see tiered pricing based on amount of toppings but you can get as much as you want here. That's the beauty of it. Every time you visit, your order is essentially a blank slate and you can get a different pizza no matter how many times you've been there.

  • Jason W.

Disclaimer I save 5 stars for elite and unique. That said this place surprised me with such a wide variety of ingredients. The first bite explained why the joint was so busy.

I went to the original location, H & Pizza, the day it opened. It was awesome! This place is just as good but easier to get to. I will be going often because there are so many combinations to try. Very Happy this company is on the grow.

  • Adan R.

It was really good. Went with a few friends. Was about a 10mins process with people ahead of me. Employees were very nice. Some of my friends had the specialty pizza (the maverick) while others built their own pizza (including me). I had a just a regular chicken and sausage pizza with the classic sauce and house made mozzarella. Its was good. My friend has the maverick which was good. Anything thats says its spicy has kick to so don't take it lightly. Their soda machine has their own soda flavors (no major brand names). Only criticism I have is the actual dining area to sit and eat. Its small. Maybe they can expand and put tables outside the place in the mall hallways?

  • Thomas J.

Tried to call in a take-out order. First problem is that the phone number on the &pizza app for the Springfield location is wrong. It's an invalid phone number. So, I took the time to find the phone number elsewhere. The number on their website matches the number on Yelp. I called that number and it rang for 5 minutes with no answer or answering machine. So, I tried again. Same thing. I'd rather you answer and tell me you're too busy to take an order (if that was the case) than to not even answer the phone. For a new pizza place in a new community (who claim they care about the community), it doesn't matter how good your pizza is if people can't get through to place an order. And to have a wrong number on the App, a feature you push to the extent of hoping people use to pay for the pizza? That's a sad failure in this day in age. Wish I could tell you the pizza is worth eating, but their customer service is so bad, no one ever answered the phone to take my order.

I loved loved loved it! Amazing pizza, amazing staff. The staff kept everythi clean and we're very polite. They were paitent with me and helped me through making my pizza which was a little overwhelming with all the choices. If you like chipotle and subway then you'll love &pizza as you can choose any toppings you want for the same price. It was quick through the oven and the lined moved fast. They even make their own sodas. I am vegitarian so I love that it's vegitarian friendly and once I told them everyone in line changed their gloves. Great communication! One issue was when I first ordered the first worker yelled down the order and later the other co-worker complained that he didn't hear it, but he looked at her after she yelled it. Other than that great work! I will definitely be ordering again.

I usually don't bother leaving reviews, but the customer service at this place moved me so much that I felt guilty not leaving a review to support them. This place is the most vegan friendly establishment I've been to and has one of the most helpful staff ever! I originally found out about &pizza while looking for a vegan friendly pizza place and tried the &pizza in Bethesda, MD. When I heard that it was coming to Springfield, I had to try it out because I loved the food and loved the idea of choosing your own toppings. The first thing that really stood out at the Springfield location was that the staff were very friendly. When I chose daiya cheese as the cheese type, one of the staff members asked vegan? And when I said yes, the person called out to the other staff members saying "Vegan! Vegan coming!" and each of the staff members started taking of their gloves. Each of the staff members were very careful in handling our food. I was amazed and did not expect this level of care for their customers. This is something I wouldn't have asked for, but deeply appreciated. I will be returning here again and again because not only is the food top notch, the customer service is the best I've ever seen in my life at a casual dining type restaurant.

Ok, I don't normally do this but WOW! Delicious food, excellent service and fun crowd! This is probably the best pizza joint in the area! Ask them to explain the process and the drinks. Bravo!

  • Ginger S.

The pizza tasted great. I like how you can pick any toppings you want for under $9. The only downside was one of the staff was not friendly. I think she was probably hungry and couldn't wait for customers who have never been here try to understand the options. She made her own pizza and sat near us at the table a few minutes later.

  • James T.

Hands down one of the best pizzas I ever had. They make the pizza right in front of you and you get to choose as many toppings as you like for one low price. Only a couple toppings are extra like shrimp. You can either choose one of their signature pizzas or build your own. I normally get the maverick, which is basically a meat lovers. and add bacon and broccoli to it. The pizza takes just minutes to cook. They make their own sodas here and I would say hands down the best soda I ever had. I mixed the mango & passion fruit with ginger berry lemonade and it was one of the best decisions I made so far in life. Can't say enough good things about this place. Only downside is limited seating and no pineapples. Ordering is just like ordering at a Chipotle, but with pizza. One pizza is enough to feed two people unless you're really hungry. Definitely check &pizza out, you'll be glad that you did.

  • Jake R.

New favorite local pizza joint. We have been there 3 times. Awesome that you get unlimited toppings for no additional cost. Dough, cheese, and toppings are phenomenal. Great homemade sodas also. Customer service is also top notch

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large.
