So, in South Hill for a family matter. Looking for some good Chinese buffet. Hit up YELP and this place came up. Clean good food, and good price. Plus my son kept saying this place is AWESOME.
This is an interestingly unique location. It is a fairly tiny standard Chinese buffet. If you want Chinese and are in the area, it's a great choice. The staff appear a little overworked and the strip mall and associated restaurant building are old, but it is fairly clean and the food is fine. I give it 4 of 5 stars.
I have now eaten the food from this place twice. Once I did take out and the other time I ate at the restaurant. The inside was dated, but clean. The staff is very friendly even though the lady running the fronts English isn't too spectacular, none the less I was able to order both times without a fuss. I personally base a Chinese restaurant on two factors. Their general tsos chicken and their spring/egg rolls. I can forgive so-so egg rolls, but if I get general tsos smothered in that dark red, thick sticky gooey sauce I leave and never look back . However, for New China their spring rolls were very good. Their egg rolls were not the best I've ever had, but they were fine. Their general tsos chicken was awesome. Had great flavor and a nice kick to it. As far as quality of food everything I've had has been just fine. If you are in South Hill I highly recommended it. Its just off I-85 next to Food Lion. The only reason I gave this place three stars is because they advertise they have a buffet. However in the two times I've been there it wasn't been open and no where does it state the buffet is only for certain hours/days.

Brian's has served the best club sandwiches that I can remember every since I was a little girl! I was so glad to get to enjoy another one today and it was just as good as I remembered with hot crispy fries! Service was fast and friendly. An oldie but goody! Love this place still! My daughter had the chicken salad and it was delicious too! Never a bad meal here!

I'm writing this review for anyone traveling and driving through the area. This is a convenient and quick food option right off of the interstate. The restaurant and bathrooms are clean. There's a gas station next door and it's super easy to get right back on the road. Other than that, it's like any other Five Guys. All the workers were really nice. Burgers cost more than your average fast food joint. They have one of those fancy soda machines with the touch screen. If you're allergic to peanuts, I don't recommend you coming here or to any Five Guys location. Peanuts everywhere.
It's usually pretty good. Be prepared to spend a few bucks. I don't mind the price....when I get what I ordered. I ordered a lettuce wrap double patty hamburger. He rang it up as a single and I asked TWICE if it was going to be a double. What did I end up with? A single. How about pay attention instead of trying to talk to your friends while you're being paid to work.
Pricey for a burger joint! 3.39 for fries!?! $2.29 for a small drink!!? Food is standard greasy spoon fare. After being taken for $13.50 lunch, this will be my last time at a #5guys

Stopped here for dinner, since we could not find a local mom and pop pizza restaurant in South Hill (planning on going to Gino's in Clarksville when we come back in the fall). Our pizza was good. Better than the delivery that we get from our local Pizza Hut. This being a franchise location, is very limited in how they participate in the national ad campaign's, it appears. Place is steady busy with delivery and carry out (again, there does not seem to be another local alternative). Life is too short to eat bad pizza. While the pizza here is not bad, there has to be something better, locally. Meh. @Removeyourhat

The fam stopped in here on a recent drive down to NC because I was jonesing for some bbq. I got the bbq plate with coleslaw and hushpuppies. My husband got the bbq sandwich. I asked our server what her favorite side was and she said the okra so we got a plate of that too for good measure. The winner of the meal? The sweet tea. That stuff was spot on. The rest. Meh. I've experienced better. The fried okra, I'm pretty sure was poured straight out of a frozen bag into the deep frier. The hush puppies were tasty but the bbq fell short. They do have two sauces and I tried both. Meh. I like the kick of vinegar you usually get from good southern VA/NC bbq and this was lacking. So one star for the sweet tea and one star because nothing on the menu was over $5!
Holy hella, was this place good! I did the sliced BBQ lunch combo with applesauce and corn on the cob, and I was happily licking my chops after, wishing I had more of the sauce to guzzle. It seems to be the style in this part of the world to do a BBQ sauce that is part vinegar and part tomato, and I'm really starting to like it. And I will most certainly stop by here again the next time I pass through.
I love this place. Very reasonable. It's where the locals eat. That's worth 5 Stars in my review. I eat here every time I'm in the area.

Since I hadn't eaten sushi in almost a month, I stopped here today since it was the only Asian buffet in town. I didn't realize until after getting my table there was no ginger for the sushi (the selection of that itself was very limited). This place also doesn't have a salad bar but does have your usual Chinese fare like fried rice and egg rolls. The background music was all mellow R&B, which I thought was odd for an Asian restaurant. Overall, it's an okay place if you desperately crave all-you-can-eat Asian food. But if you just happen to be passing through South Hill, I suggest waiting and eating someplace else.

Funeral home quiet in here on a Friday night. I suspect the new Five Guys, right around the corner from here, has something to do with this. Normally, I would never think of eating at BK. Microwaved lettuce and tomato does not seem natural to me. However, since the national promotion is for a Fish sammich, and being in town for a short stay, we decided to give it a shot. Our food was good and hot. Well made. Took forever to get to us (read above, quiet as a funeral home inside..meaning the place was deserted..)..so I am not sure what that was all about. Not a fan of BK in general. Their fish is no where as good as it is at Arby's or Long John Silvers. But the lack of either of these choices, made this BK next up. Slow service. Decent fish. Your mileage may vary. @Removeyourhat
