Chicken lettuce wraps, salt and pepper calamari, steamed dumplings, AND crispy green beans...what a great dinner G and I had. My hubby had the Dali Chicken...which is the hotttest dish on the menu. They make sure you know that. Still not hot enough for him, he uses the special sauce they mix up as a little extra. He was glad they had brought that dish back though. It wasn't on the menu the last time I was there. The also have a drink called a PF-X, which I love. Also, not on the menu but they will make it for you. It has a mango rum or something in it, other stuff, and a splash of Sprite. :) That's always how I explain it and don't forget the splash of sprite. Nice summer drink, but be careful, it creeps up on you because it's tasty, the alcohol hits quickly. One with dinner is good for me. Have always had good food here. I definately recommend you call ahead for seating. We called at 6p and the first available they had was 7:45. When we walked in at 10 minutes before our time the wait for walk-ins was 2 hours. Unless you are going at 11am or 4pm...use the phone and call! It will save you many headaches and frustration. You may want to bring a light sweater or something as it usually seems a little chilly inside. For group dinners, most, if not all, of your party needs to be there before you will be seated. So, you may want to underestimate if some haven't fully committed to coming.

This was not a good experience. I had been here a couple of years ago and it was much better then. The waiter was very slow and he said he had to chase a Peeping Tom. (I wish I were I were kidding!). I ordered the Mongolian beef. It was over cooked and dry. The tables around us were not being cleaned as the patrons left. When we finally got out of the restaurant there were 3 table that had dirty dishes on them. The manager came over to see if I wanted my dish re cooked. The waiter was trying to be nice but he seemed stressed.

Went there on a Sunday around 11:00am. Not crowded during that time. Had the spare ribs appetizer and the meat was to tasty and tender, I looked past the 5000 mg of sodium in them. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and the portion given was very generous. It was so much food, I needed to take some home and I rarely take any extra food home. The Chicken Fried Rice contained 100% chicken which is always a plus. I recommend going to this place if you are looking for a more upscale Americanized Chinese Restaurant.

My family and I ate here last night. We enjoy the atmosphere so we eat here a few times a year. They initially seated us near the kitchen/ bathroom corner, they were happy to accommodate our request to be reseated elsewhere. Julian was our waiter, he was very affable and attentive. We started with 3 apps: Dynamite shrimp Lettuce wraps Ahi tuna All were very good, and delivered to us quickly - we were starving! Main course: 2 Changs chicken Beef and broccoli Wok charred beef The Changs chicken was average, that's normal. The 2 beef dishes were very tasty with lots of beef, crispy broccoli and peppers. Tons of food, a few good deserts - great night!

This is the friendliest PF Changs I have been to! Me and my husband ordered online for takeout, love the convenience! They had an extra order of dynamite shrimp and decided to give it to us. That made my night and that's also one of my favorite appetizers! The sichuan shrimp and the dan dan noodles are the dishes that never fail me. We have been to this restaurant on the weekend which may not be a nice experience because the wait is usually an hour or more... probably due to this being the only one in Richmond... correct me if I am wrong! So don't go expecting to eat right away! The good thing is the location... you can do some shopping while you wait! The managers and servers are very friendly and attentive... again, one of the best PF Changs I have been to!!

I've been dragged to this excuse of a Chinese restaurant several times now. Vegans can eat here, but while the menu options are pretty numerous compared to most chain restaurants, the dishes are lacking. Many other LOCAL restaurants perform much better. Buddha's feast: The tofu was cold and the seasoning (allegedly chinese five spice) was lacking Ma Po Tofu: Worst Ma Po Tofu ever, just go to China panda and save yourself the money and time. Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps: Actually very good, and probably the only good vegan thing on the menu. However, if you have to go here for work, ask for a pile of napkins. The good thing about this place is that you can have Chinese food and a company meeting without seeming ridiculously cheap (cheap PF Changs is not). The atmosphere is nice and during the lunch hour reservations are recommended. This is one of those places where you will love it or hate it. I like the atmosphere and the bathrooms, but the food seems to come in last place. It sounds like the priorities are a little off here.

P.F. Changs. Very good eats, fairly slow service and cold inside. The food is worth it, though. It's a different take on Chinese food and it works. Just try it already!

Ok but not worth a 45min drive again

Service is always okay if not a little too regimented. Food is below middle of the road. Out of 5 meals, one got eaten and was enjoyed - the rest were not bad enough to send back but not good enough to eat. Over-rated fast food.

After an enjoyable evening taking her friend out to dinner for her birthday, my mother found that within 36 hours of leaving PF Chang's, the credit card had used had been used 3 -4 times by someone other than her. One item was of significant value. Fortunately she uses a credit card company that monitors her use and they contacted her immediately. At first she was reluctant to say anything to PF Chang's as she didn't want to get her server in trouble. She thought that maybe someone on Wi-Fi in the area had hacked into the system and got her info. The bank informed her that those transmissions are hard wired and the only way that anything happened was directly or indirectly by her server. Some may disagree but I am only communicating what her bank said. She contacted the manager at this particular PF Chang's about what happened and he told her that they had never had anything like that happen before. She found out that he had only been there a few weeks. So what does he know? Now granted I am paraphrasing her comments, but making them as accurate as I can. I am sure all the employees will go nuts over this, but I am telling you BEWARE! My mother is 79 years old and I think possibly the server thought SUCKER because of her age. Not trying to be mean, but again, beware. My mom is very sharp regarding her credit cards. Be aware of yours.

Love the food! Offer a great gluten free menu. But it never fails that we receive bad service! Each time I go, I have to brace myself for poor service and just hope I will be surprised with decent service. But I can't stay completely away from this restaurant because it is the only gluten free chinese food around this area.

Very disappointing experience. Beautiful day in Richmond so decided to be seated outside. Initially, the waiter rushed us with decisions on drinks and appetizers, then disappeared. I ordered the lemon grass salmon cooked medium...poor choice. Fish was over cooked, dry and asparagus beyond recognition. My husbands meal, Chang's chicken was okay, nothing special. The waiter NEVER returned to the table to ask how food was or did we need anything. We asked another waiter to send the manager over..he did offer to let me choose something else..20 minutes after being served. The salmon and VERY sweet tea were removed from our bill. I expected more from this once fine restaurant.

  • Faith A.

I've been three times now with groups with this expectation that it's terrific. But I always leave disappointed. The food tastes premade and hardly unique. You may as well just buy their frozen food. Nothing tastes fresh. Granted, it's not as greasy as some Chinese takeout places (the reason for 2 stars versus 1), but there's nothing about P.F. Chang's that makes me want to spend money (and time--always a long wait!) on their underwhelming drab food versus other local Chinese and Asian restaurants (Full Kee, Mama Wok, Da Lat) that are full of flavor, character and better value. I guess it's group friendly, but sitting around eating underwhelming food doesn't really add to the experience.

If no stars were available, I would click it. PF Changs ruined a beautiful thing called Chinese Food, to cater to all the upper class people who refuse to walk into a place called Hongs BBQ House. The fried rice is so bland, the spring rolls (UGH)!!!! I get better food and service @ a chinese buffet, aside from buffet fried rice which I don't like. I went here 2 weeks ago with my kids, while the hostesses looked at us like we were lost. We were dressed fine, just not blinged out wearing Juicy Couture, Chanel etc. I don't need to dress in thousands of dollars to enjoy good food. After the TSA hostesses passed us through the checkpoint, one seated us. I was ready to leave after this, but the hostesses aren't the servers. Talk about passing an interview, how did our server pass his? He doesn't talk, no smile. From what little came from his mouth was.... Here's my sauce (as he mixed his creation) I like mine spicy, what can I get you? I felt like my family and I were commiting a crime by breathing the same air as other customers. Food was horrible, we ordered Chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and 2 kids meals of breaded chicken. We will not being going back needless to say. For some reason, PF Changs convinced the upper class this is what REAL Chinese food is about. I'd say, go out and explore other restaraunts before you make a decision. Everyone has different taste buds, my taste buds won't be tasting PF Changs again.

Chinese for Westerners. Simple tastes presented in exotic ways. The decor is great and the service is always A-1. It's not a bad place to bring an easily impressed date. I really do like the spare rib appatizer. I also recommend the house cocktails.

    (3)
  • John K.

Matthew L's critique just sums it up. It's definitely "Chinese for Westerners". I've had alot of exposure to eastern/southeastern asian cuisine and I think P.F. Chang does an O.K. job maintaining the food taste/quality for Americans. Some of the dishes on the menu are a bit greasy for me which left me to deducted a point. Another thing about this place is that the service was just horrible. It was packed when I went, the waitress had a hard time keeping up with the tempo of the restaurant -- 50% or more of the waitresses are students, not really much of the "experienced" waiter type. I just wasn't satisifed enough with the service, but definitely make a reservation before you go, this place is busy. The cost of the food is a bit overpriced, but P.F. Changs is dubbed an upper scale restaurant. Overall, it's a nice restaurant to take your date, family, friends. The food is tasty. However, always consider: If the restaurant is a chain, 90% of the time, it will not be a top-notch restaurant. P.F. Chang's is A-OK.

I have been to P. F. Chang's many times with my husband and a small group of girlfriends and liked it. My husband was graduating after 4 years of hard work and receiving his master's degree last Saturday, and he requested that we do a family dinner to celebrate at P. F. Chang's. So, I made a reservation for 5 people at 6:00, no problem. A few days later, I found out that my brother and his family were going to be able to come into town that weekend, so I called to increase the reservation to 9 people (3 of whom are children, and one of them is an 18 month-old in a high chair). P. F. Chang's told me that they consider any group over 5 people to be a large party and that they can only take one "large party" every 30 minutes. They apparently already had a "large party" booked for every time slot that night except for 4:30. Well, I'm sorry, but we did not want to eat dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon. The manager said that she could make a separate reservation for my brother and his family, but we might not be able to sit with them! This is a family graduation dinner celebration! I have never heard something like this from a restaurant before. It's not like I was trying to increase our reservation by 20 people. I was trying to add 4 people (2 of whom are small children) to an existing reservation of 5 people, for a total of 9. If they were willing to make a separate reservation for my brother's family of 4, that tells me that the kitchen could handle the 4 extra people, and they were not fully "booked," but that they basically were unwilling to push two table together. Needless to say, we went somewhere else. P. F. Chang's, your food is fine, but it's not good enough to treat your customers like this. I can get lettuce wraps elsewhere. You've lost a customer (actually, 9 customers).

First off, there was no one at the hostess station when we got there and a server told us someone would be right with us. This was a Thursday night. As we waited a couple of minutes we noticed there were a lot of empty tables and we still had a 30 minute wait. They have a 4 course dinner for two for 39.95, great deal! We ordered the sweet & sour soup, crab wontons, orange peel beef (wife), sesame chicken (me), and the mini cheesecake and wall of chocolate. The soup tasted like it look, not good. The crab wontons were ok, I like the plum sauce but I have been to Changs before and the wontons seemed to have more filling in them than these. The orange peel beef was very good and spicy, the sesame chicken was very bland. They advertise it as spicy but it was far from it. Our waiter came back after 5 minutes bringing us our entrees and asked were we done....uhh NO! You can choose one full dessert to share or the mini desserts consists of whatever you pick in a tall shot glass. Both of the desserts were very good. I gave it stars for the dinner for two special. I would order the beef again but would have to find another entree for the sesame chicken.

This review will be intentionally short for empahsis: Awesome Food - Consistently. Call Ahead for a reservation. Y'all will also be proud to give Chang's 5 stars. Good Job GM Alan!

Consistently enjoyable restaurant even thought I am hesitant to give the food alone a 5-star rating. Its a geat place to entertain friends and family and business associates. The wait-staff is young and friendly and has a professional approach. Keep in mind this is not a neighborhood, strip-mall Chinese restaurant. It is upscale with upscale prices. My lunch today hit $54 (before tip!). No alcohol. One appetizer, two entrees, and one hot tea. And two of the now popular mini-desserts. I'm a fan, though, so I give 4-stars. Extra tip: Allen, the general manager, is one of the best around. If you have any problems--and that is not likely--ask for Allen. He is one of the hands-on type so you will probably see him whenever you dine there.

I am not a fan of Chinese food, but my husband loves it. So for our anniversary I suggested grabbing lunch there. It is quite possibly the best food in Richmond. You MUST try the lettuce wraps. Good times.

Family ordered takeout from the curbside to-go service here, and they couldn't be more impressed. Ordered the chicken lo mein and egg rolls...the lo mein was very well prepared and the portion size was huge, enough for two people with leftovers. The egg rolls were stuffed full of vegetables, and if I had just one little recommendation it would be for them to reduce the cooking time for the egg rolls because they were a little overly brown on the outside for our tastes - but they were delicious. The best part of the meal was the prompt curbside to-go service - the lady who brought us out our food could not have been more helpful or nice. When asked she brought out an extra small container of sweet and sour sauce for us to use on our lo mein free of charge - very classy. She also asked if there was anything else we needed as far as condments to make our meal complete - really attentive and helpful and makes us want to return here to eat.

Love PF Changs! The menu is amazing and lots of stuff to try. The dishes are served family style, so its the best to order a coupld of items for the table and then share. You get to try lots of stuff. The chicken lettuce wraps are a must. The best you'll find. Staff is very friendly. Tip: Dining room can get very busy but we usually just sit at the bar and have dinner. Bartenders are the best there! I have recently moved to Hampton Roads, but I still think the PF Changs in Richmond is the best. Better layout.

This particular P.F. Chang's location is absolutely beautiful. It was like it was feng shui'd to maximize your Chinese dining experience. However, it can be deemed a little too dark for some people, even though there are candles lit on each tables to give that intimate element. The food there is just tastefully delicious! My colleagues and I went there after an all-day workshop. We all ordered something different and traded plates to sample the dishes. They were all delicious! The fried dumplings were sweet and done nicely. The Spicy Chicken was ok. When I want something spicy, then I expect my nose to be runny, ya know. Nothing! The Lemon Chicken was like the best I've ever eaten. The Mongolian Beef was fabulous! The Dan-Dan Noodles were surprisingly good! The only thing I wasnt' too crazy about was the Chengdu Spiced Lamb. There's a slight aftertaste that wasn't pleasing. (It could be that it's what lamb tastes like. I haven't had much experience eating lamb.) What I liked best about P.F. was that brown rice was offered along with white rice. I do not know of any other restaurants that offer brown rice. P.F. did brown rice really good because it can be difficult to make them come out just right. We got like the best waiter of the entire restaurant. He came out and explained the different sauces on our tables. He made a couple suggestions as well as putting on a couple of demonstrations. He was attentive and friendly. Great service! Their men's room was beautiful. It's like you could stay in there and have a conversation with your friends and not feel rushed to get the heck outta there. If you go to this P.F. location, you will definitely have a wonderful dining experience, supplemented with a great service.

The dimly lit restaurant sets the perfect mood for a first date or a relaxing night out. The service was great for always being so crowded. Their menu has an EXCELLENT selection of vegetarian and vegan options. Food is quite delicious too! Call ahead on a weekend night, it's worth every penny. I recommend: Vegetarian Lettuce Wraps (or chicken, they're good from what I hear) Harvest Spring Rolls Vegetable Steamed Dumplings Coconut Curry Vegetables Vegetarian Ma Po Tofu Vegetable Chow Fun Their Banana Springs Rolls have also gotten raves!

Well, I gave it another shot. I ordered their Lobster fried rice to go (~$17). 45 minutes later the meal was ready. Inside I found a moderate portion of fried rich with about 10 popcorn sized pieces of lobster and the incredibly disgusting lobster's empty exoskeleton buried under the rice. Montezuma's revenge again! Wow. I am really not hard to please and I felt so strongly compelled to follow up. Disaster.

New menu is nice but I think it's a bit pricier. The service was fast. We arrived around 3:00 which is a great time. The lunch menu was still available and the happy hour was just beginning. Note to self!! Made a great deal for lunch, drinks and appetizers. I had the shrimp and brocalli with brown rice and egg drop soup. Yum!

Our waiter, Hung, was awesome! The food was good and the service was great. Happy Hour ends at 6 so that's not the best. Also a few of the desserts had a hint of ginger.. not the best.

We loved this place and had been going for years. However I think things went down hill. The honey shrimp were overly sweet. The lettuce wraps are still good. Got a discount for eating outside. They did not mix the sauces on our table like they did before. I got the sesame chicken. Not good. Rubbery and seemed like left over from the day before. Quite chewy. I hate rubber chicken. So I think we wont be going back any time soon.

Took my friend for lunch today. I told her how good it was. I was so embarrassed when our lunch came. I had honey chicken and it was 5 small chucks and 2 tiny pieces of chicken. It looked life half of the lunch was missing. They gave no sauces for our dishes. I have been going to the Virginia Beach location for years and it was never like this! Don't think my friend will be returning.

Every experience at P.F. Chang's is a great one. My husband loves the broccoli and chicken and rarely tries anything new, BUT I am also open to seeing what something might taste like (unless I know its spicy). This girl cant take spice! The one thing I have learned and take advantage of is making a reservation. Especially on the weekends. There will be a 3 hour wait otherwise. Sometimes I'll feel bad walking through 30 people, saying my name and getting immediately sat, but make reservations people, make reservations! I always look forward to the lettuce wraps for an app or even my meal if I'm not starved. As messy as they are (spooning the meat in but wrapping it all up with your hands, and taking bites, feeling the excess mixture and water from the lettuce drip out haha), they are worth it! This Time I got the fried frice and sweet and sour chicken. THe fried rice was awesome and a good portion, and the chicken was good too. A little TOO fried, but I just ate less at dinner which meant...LEFTOVERS :)

I've been to PF Chang's in Brea, CA and now Richmond, VA. I've been to the California location several times and the Richmond location exactly three times. In all those times I've never once had a deviance from service or food quality. It's absolutely perfect every time. Maybe I need to go more often or during a really busy time? I don't know. This place certainly is has always taken care of me. I've spent two romantic dinners here with my lady love and the experience was absolutely perfect. The lettuce wraps are flawless, the Mongolian beef is divine, and the Tiramisu is in a class all its own. Our waiter was fantastic and I frankly can't even think of any more nice things to say about this place. If I keep thinking about it I might drive down there right now and gorge myself on lettuce wraps. Will you be dining alone sir? Yes. I would also like three orders of lettuce wraps.

I came here for a group lunch and it was not my choice to come here. I didn't think I would like it, but I was so wrong. They have a huge menu with lots of delicious Asian dishes. I was surprised to see that you could get sushi, Thai, and Japanese dishes because I thought they only did Chinese. The scene is upscale but slightly casual (no white table cloths) and the dining room is elegant with comfortable seating. We had a group of 12 and everyone loved their dish. I had a hard time choosing, which is how I know I have to go back, but I got egg drop soup, egg rolls, and shrimp pad thai. All very delicious and distinctively different from your typical take-out places. I tried beef and broccoli and that was delicious too. Our server was not so great, however. We had to ask for all refills. We were given one bowl of white rice for 12 people. Two people received their apps 10 min after everyone else. We were not a demanding group yet he failed to meet the basics of serving.

We caught them late on a very busy night (2 1/2 hour wait when we called for reservations) and we helped break in a brand new server who had just graduated from back waiting there, so the service was not perfect (thus the 4 instead of 5 stars), but the food was delicious, hot and fresh flavorful and prepared with great consistency throughout. My wife ordered the Changs Chicken and I ate the Beef Sechuan. It comes family style so you can share which really intensifies the dining experience for us. We also enjoyed the Northern dry rub spare rib appetizers, which were quite visually pleasing in the way they were stacked ... and very meaty, tender and tasty. The famous Wall of Chocolate completed our meal; it is a giant wedge of layered chocolate cake, moist and thick, with fudge type icing which is almost but not quite just a pleasingly bit too much for two people.

Never got to eat anything so this won't help if you want to know about food quality. The place was not that busy, but we waited 15 minutes (plus) to be seated. The Host was rude and acted like he was tired.from partying. We waited another 15-20 minutes before the waiter took our drink order. While he was away getting drinks, people were seated at the table next to us. He came by shortly after and took their drink order. He came back with our drinks, sat them on our table went straight to their table with their. Drinks and started taking their order! We just left. Won't be going back there.

I LOVE this restaurant. I honestly don't understand how it's not a 5 star. I go here for every birthday, Valentines day, even proms in the past. The lettuce wraps are a must have appetizer. Also, every entree I've tried is amazing but I really recommend Chang's Spicy Chicken. Amazing Chili sauce taste with green onions all around but not overwhelming it. I think its perfect.

Chinese food made by people who aren't chinese is easy to spot if you're a fan of Asian cuisine. P.F. Changs is strangely expensive for a place whose basic dishes like soup and fried rice lack any small resemblance to the strong flavors of authentic chinese restaraunts. The egg drop soup does not have the thick consistency common with average egg drop soup, as it is very watered down with 3 floating strings of carrots...carrots in egg drop soup?! Moral of the story is, if you're in the mood for chinese food, do not go here; spend far less money for the actual real thing at any number of Chinese restaraunts in the Richmond area. If you're hungry for any other type of food, then by all means go here.

First let me say the service was pretty good and the atmosphere was very nice. And the price is what I expect to pay for casual dining. I'm not very picky eater and I usually don't give bad reviews. Now with that being said the food left much to be desired. I found that the food was very salty and the egg rolls we order had a weird fatty meat inside. I'm sure plenty of people love the food but it just isn't for me. I would have enjoyed Chens or little Szechuan much more. I suggest everyone tries it for themselves it's obviously a very popular restaurant.

Only confused Asians will eat at PF Chang. That's all I have to say about this place and this is more than enough to convey my opinion on this restaurant but yelp says it's too short so I hope this is long enough.

Overrated and overpriced. Way overpriced. I've had better Chinese from cathay gourmet off huguenot and Forest Hill. Yes the food is fancier, but it's definitely not better than most other places

Went to P.F. Chang with a friend for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately even though the restaurant was crowded. We enjoyed their hand made dumplings, which were excellent. My friend ordered the walnut shrimp with melon in a light Asian aioli with warm candied walnuts and cool honeydew melon. The flavors were an excellent combination of seafood and fruit with the crispy walnuts to add texture. I ordered shrimp with lobster sauce which was tossed with Chinese black beans, peas, scallions, Asian mushrooms and egg. The subtle herbs in this dish resulted in heightening the flavor of the vegetables to equal that of the shrimp--altogether an outstanding flavor adventure. The service was very good as well.

The food here is good but the service is what really makes this place stand out! My friend and I went here last night and we sampled a few items. We had the edamame, pork spring roll, and chicken lettuce wraps. The lettuce wraps were definitely my favorite dish out of all of them. The flavors were perfectly blended and the lettuce was nice and crisp!! The pork spring roll came out on what looked like a sushi platter. I absolutely LOVED the plating of this dish! The actual roll was quite tasty as well. The meat was tender and the sauce that was paired with it tasted perfectly. The disappointment for the evening, though, was the edamame. It was overcooked and hard to get out of the shell. I'm sure this doesn't happen all the time, but it was disappointing. The service was WONDERFUL! We sat at the bar and the two bartenders, Sam and Dylan, were quick, friendly, and made very tasty drinks. I tried the Garden 88 Martini and it was delightful! It's a wonderful summer drink; light and crisp and perfect for the hot weather. I would absolutely recommend this place to people! The happy hour here with the Dim Sum is wonderful and food prices are absolutely reasonable.

We got take out from P.F. Changs for a family dinner last night. I can only comment on the food and not service or decor. Chang's Chicken Soup - the pin rice noodles look like slugs which isn't exactly the most appetizing thing. The broth in the soup is basically a hot and sour. Not my favorite. Multiple times while we were eating this the family would cough. Might have been the spice but just didn't really love the flavor. Steamed Dumplings - Standard. Nothing great but not bad either. Chang's Spare Ribs - Lots of Hoisin flavor. Didn't think I liked it at first but it grew on me and I ended up eating a few of these. Good size and plenty of meat. Kung Pao Chicken - Kinda left me wanting more. Needed some vegetables throw in. Medium heat level. Beef and Broccoli - My favorite dish. Big pieces of meat that were tender. Lemon Chicken - Blah. My least favorite. Lacked flavor and the lemon flavor it did have tasted artificial. The fortune cookies were pretty humorous: "Eat more Kung Pao Chicken" "A Crab Wonton a Day keeps the Doctor away." P.F. Chang's won't be my first choice for Asian food when I'm back in Richmond.

This restaurant is your pretty typical Chinese food restaurant. You won't go wrong by going here, but don't expect anything more out of the ordinary then you're used to it other restaurants. I did find their general Tso's chicken to be quite good, something I have in most Chinese restaurants I've been to. The orange chicken was quite good as well. Service and staff were excellent, and their prices weren't too expensive.

I love this place! We eat here frequently and the entire staff is always friendly. We miss a few of the old menu items (wok charred beef) but other than that would eat here everyday if we could!

This place is jam packed during lunch hours - don't chance it. However during evening hours, it's amazing and the food is great. I love this place!

This chain has your typical Chinese food but with an upscale price. The atmosphere is beautiful though. So if you're on a date, this place is probably a good choice. But if you're just hungry and looking for good Asian food, you'll find better tasting food elsewhere and you'll save so much more money. I prefer to go to a local Asian restaurant than this franchise. I would only come back here for corporate functions or special occasions since they can hold large parties.

I ate here a couple of months ago with my sister, and we did not like the food at all. Everything had a strange spicy / vinegar - y taste. We got a variety of things like their noodles and spring rolls, but nothing tasted good. I do not think we will come here again.

This is only my second visit to PF Changs and my first visit was several years ago and I don't remember my experience then. Came here for lunch with my whole team from work and arrived around 11.30 and was seated in a few minutes. All the employees were very friendly and courteous. The decor is a little too dim/dark for my liking and most of the people at our table had trouble reading the menu.. lol. There are several statues of like Ancient Chinese warriors which I am not sure really goes with the restaurant b/c it's supposed to "classy." Side note, it's pretty cold in here and I see from previous reviews that it's a frequent problem.. I got an Arnold Palmer for my drink which was pretty good, but just a tad too sweet for an Arnold Palmer. A+ for our waitress for doing a great job refilling everyone's drinks. Even though we had a party if 9, our waitress was attentive and was able to split all of our checks as well. I also go the hot and sour soup which was probably the worst I've ever had... it was really dark looking and too salty for my liking. It was kind of hard to distinguish the ingredients b/c the salty flavor was masking it. The Calamari was decent, but it wasn't the best i've ever had. The portion was definitely on the smaller side and it was strands of Calamari which I wasn't really expecting. 18 bucks with tip for lunch for a meal that was just ok was definitely not worth it.. I noticed that all the lunch portions my co-workers received were small and was definitely expecting more. Side Note: my manager got the shrimp fried rice I think and it LITERALLY came with only one piece of shrimp. We didn't mention the issue, but seriously? Someone needs to make sure that each dish that comes out is fair/proportional. Also, I got a stomach ache after lunch.. just saying. Won't be coming back for sure.

The Stony Point location has the feel and taste of any bland chain restaurant. The waitress was very nice, but just a bit too much for my taste; it was the management's protocol as I had to hear other servers also overworking it. I had to request an improvement to the sauce; that took forever. Our booth should have been cozy, but we were essentially looking out at the floor tables and had the feel of a cafeteria.

Ordered take out and the experience was solid. Based on my phone number they knew what I had ordered before and asked if I was interested in the same thing. That was impressive! I ordered the shrimp with lobster sauce. This one of the lowest calorie items on the menu (1 order is 500 calories - if you eat it all) and one of the tastiest. This combined with their amazing brown rice was such a solid meal. On a lazy day off this is always a go to meal - since they do curb side pick up! Next time you are in the area and are thinking about P.F's try the Shrimp with Lobster Sauce!

You can't go wrong with P.F. Chang's.Good atmosphere and service. The mongolian beef is my favorite dish. The chicken wraps are amazing. The 2 for 39.95 is a great deal.If the deal is running, don't hesitate to take advantage. Its a lot of food and you probably will bag some up to go. P.F. Chang's also have a really good happy hour.During happy hour and weekends, P.F. Chang's can become really crowded.Getting an early start is usually a smart choice. On nice evenings, waiting times can be well over an hour.Get in early & enjoy!

What's up with this place? The food is good, the service is good, but the host/hostesses have no clue what they are doing during high traffic times. Although I would argue the Tyson's Corner location is better in every way possible, the quality of the food at PF Chang's hardly ever deviates and is good at every location. Crispy honey chicken is my favorite. I also enjoy the blackberry jasmine green tea, but it is not on the menu at this location but remains on the menu at others. Not sure, what is up with that but it put a real damper on my meal. The host/hostesses also are not capable of dealing with high volume of customers. They would quote times to people and although this is an imperfect science, the times were way off. Also, it was unclear what their method for seating people was. There was a group of four women seated waiting when we walked in the door and were finally seated well over 1.5 hours later. People without reservations also came in and were seated before us. Like I said, I'm not certain what their procedure is and when they were asked, it seemed like they seat people in times rather than as tables become available. My boyfriend and I were told at 7:30 after 1.5 hours of waiting (our quoted waiting time) that we might get seated at 7:40 or we might be seated at 8:10. They also had to go around asking who people were because they had screwed up names. There has to be a better way and more organization.

One of my favorite places to eat. The lettuce wraps are DELICIOUS. The service is always great, the lighting is dim so it's not awkward, and I've never had a bad selection from the menu. We loveeee the spicy chicken and orange peel beef. The spicy green beans are different & fun. Their red velvet cake is mouth-watering. :)

I was expecting so much more eating here after all the hype but it is no better than your average Chinese Restaurant, just way more expensive! Our waiter was pretty knowledgable but our wait to be seated here was way too long! We kept asking lady at front desk how much longer and she kept saying 15 more minutes but we were staring at a few empty tables! They didn't have reserve signs on them or anything and we almost walked out. You would think we had this ultra long hour and a half wait on a Friday night because it is THAT good but it wasn't. Would prob eat here again but not on a Friday night and maybe lunch time, they might have a cheaper menu? Definitely overrated and overpriced. 3 stars instead of 2 because the food wasn't bad just not all that...

Went on a Sunday for an early dinner, and the place was more crowded than I expected. Had not problem getting in, but service was slow. Our poor waitress had at least 5 large tables in this particular corner of the restaurant, but tried her best. The hot & sour soup was very good. The spring rolls were greasy and sub par. The orange peel chicken was pretty good, but the kung pao shrimp was average at best. For the money, I would rather go to one of my favorite strip mall chinese places. Changs is overpriced, and overrated.

Two words. Lettuce. Wraps! I love this place for Chinese food,...the ambiance, the service and the food are always great... I have eaten here several times and I have enjoyed it each time. I usually go for the shrimp and share what everyone else is having at my table... Makes for a great dinner party!

I've never had P.F. Chang's before, but decided to try it going off of recommendations from friends of mine. The decor inside for a restaurant is nice, and the drinks are not too bad. The food? Sigh. Maybe it's because of my half-Asian side that sighs in disappointment. Basically, if you're the kind of person who considers Taco Bell to be good Mexican food or Olive Garden to be a great Italian experience, then you will love P.F. Chang's. However there are umpteen million Chinese restaurants out there that lack the corporate marketing, but put P.F. Chang's to shame food-wise. The service was great though. Good servers who were attentive and nice, while giving space and yet not absent. All in all, if you're the kind of person who feels uncomfortable in different cultural surroundings but wants to try something different and test the waters, then P.F. Chang's is right for you. P.F. Chang's to Chinese food is like Lil Wayne to rap music: not very good but marketed correctly, resulting in very good sales from a rather culturally ignorant crowd. If you want great Chinese food, look up other places run by Chinese families. You get the homey feeling and typically quaint atmospheres, along with amazing and delicious food that your Asian mother could make if you had an Asian mother.

i am a big fan of p. f. chang's! i have had many great evenings and experiences at their locations in the southeast. but, one thing i have noticed lately is the price of their drinks. they are now charging as much as more expensive restaurants, such as fleming's steak house.

I had been to a P.F. Chang's in Atlanta, and was pretty stoked to try this one in Richmond after moving here. It definitely was a positive experience, and I'd recommend it (with a few words of warning). All the food was excellent, fresh, and well presented. My table ordered a variety of dishes that all seemed to satisfy everyone. The Lettuce Wraps were quite popular, as was the Egg Drop Soup. Wait staff was very good, no complaints there at all. Only area that was an issue was our final bill. There were several issues with incorrect pricing or putting things on the wrong check. It took quite a few minutes to iron out but it all came together in the end. So basically, go and enjoy the great food, just double check your ticket before you pay!

We opted to do the four course meal for $40. Which, is a pretty good deal when you're getting soup, appetizer, two entrees, and dessert (although the desserts are tiny, but you DO have the option of upgrading to a regular dessert for a couple bucks). Started with hot and sour soup which was decent. It had a lot of ingredients in it, but not the ones I expected. If I recall correctly, I didn't taste any bamboo shoots, which I look forward to in my hot and sour soup usually. It was definitely missing the spice and sour that I'm used to. But then again, this isn't super authentic Chinese. Followed up with the steamed shrimp dumplings, which were fine. I do have to say their sauce demonstration doesn't do it for me. The flavor that comes out when they make it for you is just not good. Possibly awful if you had a heavy handed waiter. I fixed the sauce by the end of the dumplings by adding a few things to it. We also had Chang's spicy chicken and crispy honey shrimp. Both were tasty, but again, this isn't authentic Chinese, so know that going in. A note: I do like the option to have brown rice with your meal. We finished off the meal with banana spring rolls, which was bananas wrapped in spring roll wrappers and then fried. It came with coconut pineapple, drizzled with caramel and some berries. That was probably one of the best parts of the meal. Service was good, though some might have found our experience to be undesirable. We engaged our waiter in conversation and he told us about his band and such. He also went into what some might consider long winded descriptions of items. We probably spent an extra 5-10 minutes listening to him over the course of dinner. Which, to be honest, made us late for our movie, but he was enthusiastic and considerate, so it is what it is. I definitely agree with everyone else, though... We came in the middle of summer and it was COLD. Luckily we knew this ahead of time and both wore long sleeves. PF Chang's, for the type of food it is, is tasty (and no mystery meat or language barriers). The food is consistent and the service was good. I wouldn't go here regularly, but it's usually a happy compromise when dining with someone at Stony Point.

There are few nationwide chains that I have never been to before. P.F. Chang's was one of those chains. For one reason or another, I had never graced P.F. Chang's with my presence. Luckily for P.F., that changed last night. When I walked into establishment, I began to admire the ambience. I like the way the place is decorated. I ordered the monoglian steak while my friend ordered the scallops. Both entrees were scrumptious. Before we left, one of the managers gave me a 10 dollar gift card since I was a first-timer. That was a really nice gesture. I plan on using that g.c. in the future.

Typical PF Chang's... Attentive wait staff and very well prepared food selection. You really can't beat this combination, for the same price as what you would spend at Outback. Dynamite Shrimp are always delicious (just wish it was a slightly larger serving) and the entrees are almost always perfectly prepared.

Okay, before I say anything else, this place is COLD! Bring a sweater or you won't be able to focus on the food! Now, that's sort of a lie because the food is so delicious. The shrimp dumplings, the beef with broccoli...I can't remember everything we ordered, but it was all very tasty! We did the pick 2 deal, whatever its called, and I have to say, the dessert wasn't that great. I got the cheesecake and it was loaded with that fake cherry shit on top. If I had known it was going to come with that, I would have asked for them to take it off. The location is pretty nice as well. I've never been to the Stony Point Fashion Park before, and there was a wait so we got to walk around a little. Walked over to the Cinebistro and had a drink in their outdoor patio area.

My wife and I have been very fond of your restaurant in Richmond, Virginia and have gone there on a regular basis for at least the last year. We had an unfortunate and frustrating experience when we went there this past Saturday. We made a reservation for seven o'clock and requested a booth. We had a drink at the bar and were seated about 10 or 15 min. after seven, which was fine. We ordered soup for starters, lettuce wrap for an appetizer, an entrée, and dessert as part of the 2-for-1 $40 multicourse meal. Not long after the soup arrived, our lettuce wrap was delivered. This was not ideal, but not really a big deal. After finishing these dishes, we waited - and waited - for our entrées. We noticed customers at several tables nearby also looking around, with no food on the table. In the meantime, I had ordered a beer and one or two miscellaneous items which were not brought. We became so frustrated about this lack of prompt service that we asked the manager to please make our food to go. He was apologetic and offered to waive all charges, which was very nice and much appreciated. As we were leaving, a young man presented himself and, essentially, asked what the problem what was. He identified himself as "the other" manager. We told him what the problem was with terribly slow/absent delivery of food and added that the other gentleman forgave the charges. He proceeded to argue with me, implying that the fact that we had ordered a different beef dish had slowed down the arrival of our food. He followed me out the door saying "I'm not happy with this. I'm not happy with this." We were not happy with this either! Although we will continue to patronize PF Chang restaurants, my wife and I won't return to the one in Richmond. The service and dining experience used to be excellent. Several months ago the manager, our friend Gabe, was replaced by the present management, which coincides with the deterioration in service. I should add that our impression was that the waiter did a good job. The problem lay with the kitchen not being able to prepare meals in a timely manner.

Get your saline drip ready... because you'll be so dehydrated after consuming so much salt. I wouldn't be shocked if I found someone cutting lines of MSG in the bathroom. Let's not beat around the bush, this food is bad.

Had my first PF Chang experience last night with a group of 14 ppl from work. I loved the look of it from the outside with all the statues... And the staff was very friendly and welcoming. They treated us well and we never once had to ask for anything or wait very long to get it. The food was delicious .. We had a variety of things... Spicy chicken, mongolian beef, wonton, lamb, Chicken lettuce wrap sesame chicken, moo goo gai pan, , And many more.. I can't even remember all the meals. They were all good...the best thing on the table as far as taste was the salt & pepper shrimp... The only complaint I have was my martini.. I asked for any kind of berry one and they made me a rasberry one.. I think because it wasn't on the menu they didn't know how to make it.. It didn't taste like rasberry at all.. It was nasty... And before I could ask her she came and asked me if I liked it and since she asked I told her the truth. I didn't like it so she took it back and made me a new one that was much better.. Still not the martinis I am used to getting when I'm out but it was okay. Rating food - delicious Rating service-perfect Would I refer others - absolutely Will I go back- yes.

We ate take out last Sunday. Everything we ordered was terrible. Spring rolls were mushy even taking into account it was take out, poor container choice. The spicy sautéed string beans were not spicy and should be called ginger sautéed string beans. Possibly error on cooks part where he/she dumped the entire bowl of ginger in the beans. Sweet & Sour Tofu may have been the best of the worst, but our friends got chicken and their portion size was double. We hardly had enough to fill the bottom of the small container. Lastly the curry vegetables...if I could find a picture of an emoticon hurling, it would articulate the flavor and the rawness of this cooked vegetable dish. Never again! We had to order from another Asian restaurant the next night to rectify the disaster of PF Changs dinner! Not to mention way to costly from PF Changs for such terrible food. We were warned, but thought we'd give it a shot. Poor decision!

What you would expect from Asian fusion chain restaurant... great apps, blah overpriced entrees. Love the chicken lettuce wraps, and thats about it. The rest is just Americanized ok food. Not authentic, not too flavorful. The decor is nice, restaurant is clean, the wait is long. They have a gluten-free menu so that's a plus!

The only thing that saved this review was the food. Service was terrible. My mom and I went to PF Changs while visiting this mall. We went around 4pm and were just going to get a few appetizers. We were seated quickly because we had made a reservation. Waitress came over to take our drink orders and was shocked that we wanted time to look at the drink menu. After we got our drinks we looked at the menu. I asked a question about the dumpling appetizer. On the menu they are listed by filling 'pork' 'shrimp' etc. I asked the waitress if they contained anything else besides what is said, like any sort of cabbage or onions, things you may find in chinese appetizers at other places. She rudely responded 'Well what is in them is what is says, so the pork has pork, the chicken has chicken, the shrimp has shrimp and the vegetable has vegetable". Obviously I knew that, it says that on the menu. I wanted to know if there were additional ingredients in the filling. Nonetheless we ordered out crispy green beans and the pork dumplings pan fried. I asked for them extra fried/crispy and the waitress gave me a dirty look and said they couldn't do that. We said that was it and the waitress said "That's all you are getting? in a really snarky , rude tone. Our food didn't come out at the same time. Green beans came out first and they were great as usual. Dumplings came out about 10 minutes later. The young man that brought one out accidentally spilled and knocked one onto the serving tray. Instead of returning to the kitchen to get a new one, he said "I promise the tray is really clean, does one of you want to pick it off?" We were in such shock that a restaurant would ask someone to take and eat food off the serving tray that my mom just took her fork and stabbed it off the serving tray. Nothing was ever done to correct this. The dumplings were delicious too (minus the one dumped on the tray). In summary, food here is great, service, not so great. Unfortunately this is the only PF Changs anywhere near where I live.

This location is super small for their chain. Once we forgot that it was Saturday and got there during prime time (7:30pm) and was told the wait was 2.5 hours. Totally not worth waiting that long. The second time we went for lunch and were seated immediately. You know you must have Chicken Lettuce Wrap! I've tried Garlic Noodle, Beef & Broccoli, Mongolian Beef (just beef & giant green onions...very salty and not my favorite) so this time we got the Singapore Street Noodles (the noodles are not very soft but the flavor was good, not overly salty); Shrimp with Lobster Sauce (OMG gotta have it again awesome!!); Sweet & Sour Chicken (my hubby inhaled it so it must have been great). Service has always been great at all P.F. Chang's I've been. I must say, I'm impressed with their consistency. There was plenty of food for two meals for two of us with three entrees and an appetizer. You can't really go wrong with P.F.Chang's :)

I love Chinese food, but what P.F. Chang's has done to it is a crime. In 7 trips to this restaurant (the last five visits being dragged), I have tried 7 different dishes, only to find myself leaving hungry each time. The food was not just bad, it was horrible. I could not choke it down. The last time I went, I had plain fried rice. I wanted to vomit. I mean, how do you mess up fried rice? Once, I could forgive. Twice, and I am hesitant. I have gone seven - SEVEN - times and never once did I enjoy my meal. That is not merely a bad experience, nor is it a trend. That is just the way it is. People have tried to convince me that the food here is great. I have heard every argument in support of this place that's possible. In the end, they are unconvincing, since it is not my brain or heart that are dissatisfied; it is my taste buds and stomach, and ultimately, my wallet. The only item that I can recommend is the wonton soup. It is WONDERFUL. The decor is fantastic, the service is spot on and the overall ambiance is great. The bad thing is, I can't eat any of those things, and if the food isn't good, then none of those intangibles matter! My wife happens to like this place, as do most of my friends, so in their opinion, something must be wrong with me, however, I love to eat and I WANT to enjoy this food. Yet, in the end, all I'm stuck with...is soup.

This restaurant was very crowded for an early dinner on a Tuesday evening. The decor was lovely but the seating is all one large open room and the tables were rather close together. Not having partitions throughout made it VERY noisy. We couldn't have a comfortable conversation at our table without talking louder than normal and feeling like we were sharing information with our neighboring table guests. The staff was very attentive. Almost to the point of annoying. There seemed to be more staff than actually needed for the service. The food presentation was very pretty and the portions were OK. I was not impressed with the food itself. It didn't taste as fresh as other Asian restaurants that I've been to in the area. Overall I thought the meals were largely overpriced. The waitress mixed a sauce at the table side and suggested we use it with our meal. It was terrible and would have destroyed the flavors of the meal itself. I was not impressed given the price and hype of this restaurant. There are many small mom and pop Asian restaurants in the area that serve much fresher tasting and more authentic food.

Pros: Our waitress was wonderful! The panfried noodle was great, and their "happy hour" food is good! Cons: Their food is very oily, and it always leaves my stomach feeling slightly ill afterward...this could also be because I ate too much last time though! All in all, a great place for a date. It's fun to order different dishes and eat "family style"

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
