I learned about Rosita's from the taco truck that sets up at the Big Top Flea Market. The taco truck was pretty good and the kid running it said that his family also ran Rosita's. After checking out the Facebook page, it seemed authentic and definitely worth a try. So, I talked a couple of colleagues into going recently. The menu is fairly limited but we all decided to go with the safe bet, tacos. The price is right, $1.50 per taco. I ordered two with carnitas and one with chicken. I also ordered another dish, I wish I could remember the name. It was basically egg, carne asada, and cheese in a thick flour tortilla. It was similar to a quesadilla but was named something else. The tacos were OK. They came with onion, cilantro, and radish (interesting) on corn tortilla but the meat was pretty dry, to be honest. And the sauces they provided (green and red) had literally no flavor to them. The tacos at the taco truck were way better than these. The egg dish was pretty good and I would get it again. My colleague ordered a couple of chicken tacos and picked out no fewer than three bones from them, one that was actually pretty big. I've been to alot of taco trucks and such and never seen bones in tacos. Definitely not something one wants to deal with. I really wanted to like Rosita's. The girl that waited on us was very sweet but the I think we all left a little disappointed in the experience. I would love for these guys to be successful at this location but I doubt I'd go back.

Went today for the first time. I am Mexican and also from California, so I would like to think I know good (legit) Mexican food. The place is very typical for a taqueria, limited seating and menu. The lady working was very nice and took my order with haste. I got (2) Tongue Tacos and (2) Carne Asada Gorditas. You can't beat the 1.50 taco and 2.50 gordita price. Within 10 minutes I had my meal and was out the door. Got home and was happy to see that the tacos had a good amount of meat, cilantro, lime and radish. Radish is actually very typical to put on tacos depending on what state the Mexican cuisine is from. The beef tongue was flavorful and juicy. The red and green salsa were actually flavorful and had a nice kick. The best part of the meal were my gorditas. They were cooked perfectly and had a great taste. I am not sure why this place doesn't have more Yelp reviews. I am giving it a 5 due to the fact it is legit Mexican and you can't beat the price.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
