I absolutely love this place. Take out soul food spot which never disappoints. The food is well seasoned and they have great portions. I have never had a bad experience and have been here several times. Homemade desserts are scrumptious and my favorite is the banana pudding. They also have daily lunch specials. If you want good soul food, this is your place.

The food was great! I had fried pork chops, greens, and mac&cheese. Everything was delicious. My husband who doesn't eat pork had fried turkey chops and he loved it also. The cornbread taste like cake. It use to be take out only but they have a small dinning area and live music after a certain time. It's a small dimond in the ruff. Service was good. We are truckers from Cali just passing through so we got our food to go but from the moment we walked in. We were greeted and thanked at least 3x for our support. Love it!

This was a nice little spot. The food was good and the service was nice. You would never go to this spot unless you had business in this shopping center or you Yelped. I love small businesses so I will go out of my way to visit them. I got the fried turkey chops, Mac and Cheese with cabbage. It didn't take long to come out. The chops were very flavorful. The sides were not salty like so many other soul food spots. There are a lot of potholes in their parking lot so be careful. The owner of the shopping center would serve the businesses well if he fixed the shipping center up. It's a hole in the wall but they make pretty good food. I'll visit this place again when I'm in the area and ill try something new and give you an update.

The food here is really good I was quite impressed. This establishment is Take out only! The service is of take out quality but still nice & polite nonetheless. it's best to call in your order so you don't have to wait too long when you arrive. Ordered the grilled turkey chop with peppers and onions, cabbage and Yams :) the turkey chop was magnificent, I love that they give you the options of having it fried, grilled or smothered. While the turkey chops were a good size, the side portions were small (I wanted more!) Or maybe I was just being greedy. My only complaint was the Cornbread..I don't know how ya'll messed this up..ok it was white, waaaaaaaay too sweet and tasted nothing like cornbread..it taste like...a yeast roll with a cake-like texture..wtf! (It was good tho, ate all of it..then started bouncing off the walls like Roger rabbit) too much sugar! Please tell me they just put the wrong thing in my box, I know I ordered cornbread, my receipt says cornbread but I don't know what this is...it can't be..say it ain't so.. I will order from here again, and even though the "cornbread" was good I doubt I'd order it again.

I fell upon this place by accident as I was in the middle of getting my hair done. If you have no intentions of coming to this side of military highway across from the mall then you will likely miss it. I ordered the fried whiting with fries and macaroni and cheese. The fish was cooked fresh and was piping hot, however there were several bones that were not removed. The fries were seasoned well, with what seemed like a very light but noticeable cajun flavor. The macaroni and cheese was undesirable. Very milky so much that the "cheese" was cottage cheese in texture. Corn bread as another reviewer said was more of a cake, very sweet not like traditional cornbread. It was a decent meal that cost 8 dollars but not one that I would returm for.

So you could easily miss this place if you don't know exactly where to look. But it's absolutely worth it when you do. It's on N. Military Hwy southbound side next to Braid Expert. This location is take out only and we got our food in less then 10 mins, 30 mins before close on a Friday. The woman behind the counter informed me that there were some items they were out of for the day, but that just let me know their food is good enough to sell out! I had the whiting dinner with rice and potato salad (they were out of collards). The meal also came with cornbread that was a bit sweet, but I enjoyed it. The rice was cooked perfectly and the whiting was immaculately seasoned. I also got a piece of lemon cake that I haven't tried yet because I was too stuffed. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good 'soul food' take out. Easy on the wallet and yummy for the tummy.
