Pescados Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My husband and I went there the other night. The food was sooo good. We had the conch fritters for an appetizer and they were delicious. I couldn't get enough of the spicy sauce they came with. I had the crabcakes and my husband had the filet for dinner. We were both eating off each other's plates because the food was so good. The saffron potato cakes might be one of my new favorite things.

I adore this restaurant. I'm a local and get to Pescados as much as I can. The voodoo shrimp is awesome. I've ventured through most of the menu and love it all. Excellent seafood!

For my money, the best all-around food experience in Richmond, VA. There isn't anything on the menu that isn't ridiculously amazing. The food price is way low for the quality and taste you get here. Bone-Fish Grille or the Hard Shell aren't even in the same universe as Pescado's. The owner seems a little grumpy sometimes, but who cares - as long as she keeps this place running, and putting mind-blowing food on my plate, I will keep coming back!

Spring felt like it was here in Richmond! I wanted to find a restaurant that had a patio and what do you know? Pescados had one! Plus, I am a huge seafood fanatic (originally from Cape Cod) so I was over-the-moon excited that this restaurant was close by. I ordered the crab cakes and my goodness they were out of this world! They came with a lobster cream sauce over shredded cabbage with potato cakes and grilled broccoli. Before my order had arrived I asked my server, Derrick, for salt and pepper with the anticipation of my food needing a little seasoning- boy was I wrong! My food was absolutely scintillating, full of flavor and freshness. The prices were a bit steep but I have to admit it was all worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant, the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. My server, Derrick was very knowledgable on the menu and was very pleasant and kind.

Yum! Great seafood place. Loved my fish tacos and my husband loved his dish too. We shared the avocado key lime pie, which was so unique! Service was great, helpful with ordering and friendly too. No complaints, except from my husband who wants to go back ASAP to try their whole snapper dish!!

Love, love, love Pescado's. Snapper is delicious and fish tacos are best in town.! We also loved the avacado tart. Service is consistently good, and we've never had to wait long for a table (we only go on weekdays).

I won't go on in great detail as others have already done, but I crave Pescados at least once a week. Fantastic seafood prepared uniquely, great drinks, interesting wine list, friendly service and a fun casual atmosphere. I'm just annoyed that so many others have discovered the goodness and now I have to wait. Hmmm, scratch all that - this place STINKS - avoid at all cost...

I love good, fresh, authentic food. Pescado's offers this. I eat at Pescado's fairly regularly, going with friends, family and even clients. The only things that ever disappoint me are the wait and an occasional poor waitress.

I gathered here with a few friends for a birthday. (7 in our party) The birthday girl ordered the red snapper (a whole fish!) and she said it was quite tasty and not dry. I had the enchilada Acapulco, which was composed of shrimp, crab cake, and veggies. It came with a cream sauce that was supposed to be lobster/lime, but I didn't catch the lime in it. That being said it was quite good, but at 23$ for the plate I felt it was a tad overpriced compared to the medium amount of seafood stuffed into just one flour tortilla. The three potato cakes on the side were supposed to have saffron in them, but I could not taste it. We also ordered the chocolate cheesecake which was gluten free. Hands down, it was amazing. Best part of the meal by far and excellent presentation. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very typical private middle class kind of place, low-ish lights but a little dated. I would be comfortable in jeans, wearing heels I would say would be little overdressed. Service was great; we had a younger guy who had a good sense of humor and knew the menu well. That being said, I had a good experience but it wasn't so fantastic that I'll drive all the way to Midlo again anytime soon. Pros: Food is well made - you can tell it is fresh. Presentation of the food is high class and professional. Service was great Parking is easy as it is in a strip mall area right beside a grocery store Cons: A little overpriced for the amount of seafood on the plate Atmosphere is a little dated

The food taste really good without a question, but it's pricy for me. If I can afford a $65 (includes tip) for two people dinner once a week, this is the place I will go most of the time. There's no one at the host stand to greet us when we walked in (about seven-ish), so me and my brother waited awkwardly for a while. I don't like that, especially that's our first time there.

I went back recently for dinner and feel I have to update. The Beets, Tweets, and Sweets (Name?) is the most amazing appetizer ever. I haven't had great roasted beets since I lived in Seattle but this place nails it perfectly with some great goat cheese sauce. One of the most perfectly balanced dishes I've ever had. I also had the Voodoo Shrimp again, and while it was quite sweat inducing, it was amazing as always. The Pumpkin Bisque isn't a menu item, only a special, but if it's available I highly recommend it. It doesn't have that all too telling canned pumpkin taste that some places claim is fresh pumpkin, but instead has the less sweet, pumpkin flesh taste with a lot of great spice. Definitely a great bowl of soup for the fall. This is still my favorite restaurant in Richmond (Midlothian really).

Though Peacados is a bit on the pricier side, you can taste immediately the freshness of all the ingredients in every single dish! Everything was delicious but a bit sweet for my liking. Our waitress was right on point with her menu recommendations but not so much with the wine. Nevertheless, service was still great and food was uniquely tasty!

I heard good things about Pescados but I normally don't venture out to Midlothian so never had a reason to go. LivingSocial launched a deal so naturally, I jumped on that like a kid in a candy store. Of course, we waited until the very last week before the deal expired (don't ever do that, big no-no) and the place was PACKED on a Monday night at 6:00pm. I had called the week before to make a reservation but they only take rezzies for parties of 6 or more (I believe) so that was a bummer. We were seated 1 hour later but our server sure took her sweet time to take our order; I understand that it was a busy night, but she didn't really acknowledge that we were there and didn't even give us the specials for the night. At first I thought they ran out of specials, but after she took our order, I heard another (and more friendly) server read the specials to another table. Maybe our server was having an off-night, but yes, she was a little strange. You receive complimentary blue corn chips + salsa but we we still ordered a starter of conch fritters with mango-habañero aioli dipping sauce. If you've never had conch (rhymes with "honk"), they sort of taste like a combination of shrimp and scallop. These were PHENOMENAL - crispy yet tender on the inside and the dipping sauce was so good that I wish they'd give me the recipe because I'd slather it on everything. He ordered tilapia fish tacos with coconut black beans (super filling and fresh) and I got the Enchilada Acapulco with shrimp, crab cake, caramelized onions, lobster/lime cream sauce and potato saffron cakes. I loved every component of this dish! Rich, full of seafood, a little spicy but super unique and one of the best dishes I've had in awhile. Both our meals came with thick-cut, grilled zucchini slices (looked underwhelming but tasted divine) and I saved the potato saffron cakes for lunch the next day - still delish! If I were living in Midlothian, I would definitely make this a regular spot. Please check out Pescados next time you're in that area. I look forward to returning for my next meal (and maybe with a more attentive server).

This place is far off my usual track, but I've known about them since I was the emcee at Deguster back in November '07. What kind of dope am I that it took me almost FIVE YEARS to actually go to the restaurant, after falling in love with their food at that event? A big dope. But I digress. Finally went in this week, just making it in under the wire before they closed for the night. They get that 5th star because not only were we greeted with a smile, no one hovered/sighed/pouted while we worked our way through the app menu. Outstanding food (arepas, conch fritters, and fried oysters), a lovely service experience ... I cannot WAIT to go back.

Always fresh, inventive, and tasty. The seafood is prepared in imaginative ways and the presentation is superb. The atmosphere is lively and the waitstaff is knowledgeable. A great dining experience.

Tried out Pescados with a LivingSocial deal on a Thursday evening. It's located in the back of a shopping center off of Midlothian Turnpike but a nice outdoor patio greets you when you arrive. The restaurant has a similar atmosphere to Ironfish and since it was Cheap Date Night, there were a lot of filled tables. The menu describes their food as Latin/Caribbean inspired seafood and based on other reviews, we went with an appetizer of conch fritters, fish tacos, and mahi St. Martin. The conch fritters came out and the mango-habanero aioli dipping sauce saves this dish as the conch fritters by themselves are not that flavorful. The portion size is great for two however. The fish tacos were two large tacos filled with tilapia, greens, salsa, guacamole, and nestled in a sea of coconut black beans and grilled zucchini. At first you wouldn't think it to be filling but the portion size was just right and although messy, the tacos were pretty good but not the best I've had. The mahi mahi I felt was better with the herbed quinoa, grilled broccoli, and a coconut curry sauce. I could have eaten the quinoa alone but the mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. Overall, the price point for dinner was more expensive than I would usually pay and service was attentive the whole evening. I just didn't feel the flavors of our dishes appealed to me so I won't be returning back any time soon.

This place might be great, but after my experience I won't be going back. I went for lunch one day a while back. My dad and I were the only people there. We sat at the bar and were served by a woman who seemed to be either the owner or a manager. Everything on the menu sounded great, but not for me, but I will freely admit I'm a fairly picky eater. Regardless I ordered one of their enchiladas and asked for it with just meat and cheese which didn't seem like it should be a problem given we were the only people there but the woman serving us acted rather rude about it and tried to persuade me to order it normal. I politely declined yet when the food came out it she'd put it in how it came on the menu anyway and acted very rude about it when I asked to send it back. I simply paid for the beer I'd drank at that point and left. Otherwise the place seemed nice enough and from what I saw of the menu they seemed to have a lot of unique dishes for the area but if the owner is so uptight that they'll order something specifically against how you order it and then be rude about it I sure won't be coming back.

My wife and I live near here and took too long to try this place. Food is incredible. Two trips now and certainly will do more. A bit spendy, but no more than a good seafood restaurant. Easily the best seafood place in Richmond. The tacos were amazing and the indulgent enchilada is worth it. Don't let the odd location or the kitschy decor throw you off.

One of my favorite richmond area restaurants. I love the chips and salsa, sangria, and tilapia tacos. I live in California now, but visit pescados every time I'm in town visiting family.

I travel for business, and am very comfortable dining solo. Pescado's came highly recommended by a frequent customer, and though the food did not disappoint, the host would not seat me at a table. He said there were only larger tables available. I did not want to take up space that could be utilized by a larger party so I sat at the bar. From my seat, I could see 2 4tops that sat empty while I ate my dinner, and saw yet another empty as I left. The bar was not comfortable - it was not deep enough, so I had to twist to the side to sit up close enough to eat. The host is tall, I can't imagine he would be comfortable sitting at the bar to eat, either. I'll bet he sits at a table. I didn't ask for a table on a busy Saturday night - I was there early on a Wednesday. I won't be going back.

This is the best restaurant in the Richmond area (my review is based on the Midlothian location as I haven't tried the newer location in Richmond). The menu is imaginative, the ingredients are fresh, and the flavor profiles are spot on. I have always had a great dining experience here. This is not an elegant restaurant, but the food is wonderful, and the ambience is well suited to the cuisine. A bonus is that they always have a very nice, thoughtfully planned vegan entree on the menu instead of some bland vegan dish that many other restaurants seem to offer only as a bare nod to vegans. And the soups, which change according to what ingredients are fresh at the time, are very good!

I have never had a dish that I have not enjoyed. Definitely the type of food that you would not make at home thus it is a wonderful dining experience. Relaxed atmosphere with tantalizing taste to delight your tastebuds. Spicy yet deliciously done

Wow! The Food was extremely good! Most times I feel like I can match or surpass the food at a restaurant by cooking at home, but not so here. The Latin/Island combos of ingredients and flavors were fun and outstanding. The dining areas were clean. Service was excellent and accomodating for a family with little kids. The menu and specials all sounded great. I had the scallops and sweet potatos and they were the best I've ever had anywhere. I also tried a shrimp dip, grilled shrimp and chicken and the flavors were all awesome. There are many awards on the walls when you first walk in and there is no question as to why, they are well-deserved!

Service and food is always excellent. I had the lime scallops and my wife had the beets sweets and tweets salad. We had a dry Rose wine and finished off with a key lime pie. Food was fresh and well presented. We are already looking forward to going back!

Best seafood restaurant in Richmond. Period. INCREDIBLY creative dishes that always amaze us. We eat there several times a month just because there are so many different flavor combinations. The food is very fresh. It's small and cozy...we are huge fans of the place, and it has become our de facto restaurant of choice on "date night".

After just moving in to Chesterfield/Midlothian area, randomly stopped with the wife in for dinner while driving around and was blown away. The food was phenomenal. App: Grilled squid with jalapeno dipping sauce - Was seasoned very well, and the sauce was flavorful and had just the right kick to it. Dinner: Wife had the salmon and it was the first place outside of WA state that someone actually asked how you wanted it cooked (should always be medium rare imo) and she really liked it. I had he Jamaican chicken, which had a great jerk rub on it, along with a scotch bonnet chutney over top of it. The spice hit just the right notes to it, not over powering. Service: No complaints. Attentive and mindful. Overall: The food was great and it is definitely a place that my wife and I will be back to.

The best....not much else to say. If through some awful twist of fate I end up on death row, my final meal will include the Voodoo Shrimp. Might be the best thing I've ever eaten.

If I am ever on Death Row and asked what I want for my last meal, I would request voodoo shrimp, fish tacos and conch fritters from Pescado's. (please add the tres leches cake from Kuba Kuba for my last dessert)

Very quaint, clean restaurant. The Enchilada Acapulco was stellar, as was the Caesar salad, and the grilled chicken for my daughter. The portion size is not American, so don't expect to have a plate overflowing with food. It's style, presentation, preparation, and ingredients are all outstanding. According to the menu, they get the freshest seafood and organic ingredients whenever possible. I waited until the second visit to actually write a review, to see if they were consistently good. Yes, it's a little pricey. But I'm willing to pay a bit extra, when it comes to outstanding food. I'm far from a foodie, but this is clearly superior food. The service was fair to good, which knocks it down a star. Water glasses ran empty, and while the waitress didn't hover (which I appreciate), she didn't make herself as available as she probably should have on a slow Monday night. I don't know if that was just a bad night for her, but otherwise I was as pleased with the food the second time as I was the first.

I ordered the crab nachos, as an appetizer, and the mango mango mahi mahi as my entree. One word - Amazing. I asked to speak with the manager, and come to find out, the manager was the owner and master chef. Businesses aren't run like that any more, and it's a shame because the rest might be able to measure up like Pescado's if they were. As the owner of the only independent restaurant delivery service (Midlothian, Delivered!) in the Midlothian area, I recommend this restaurant, hands-down.

  • Jeff W.

Service was poor as was the food. I had the crabcakes. Don't bother...very little crab there. They were too salty as were the saffron potatoes.

Made reservations for Valentine's Day here as per some recommendations from fellow Yelpers, and well, because our first few times were outstanding. Like our previous visits, we were far from disappointed. If you've ever eaten at Pescado's on a restaurant heavy holiday like Valentine's Day, or Mother's Day, you are probably not shocked to learn this place was filled to the gills. And rightfully so. You can't get this combination of cuisine, for this price, and executed so well - anywhere on this side of town. Hell, maybe even in the entire metro area. Prove me wrong. Like every visit beforehand, the lady and I split the conch fritters. I can NOT get enough of these things. Seriously. Order them. Thank me later. I wanted to stray off the familiar "sea food" path that I've stuck to here, and try something a bit different. I had recalled some other reviews raving about a dish that is on the regular menu. So, feeling adventurous with a red wine I've never had before, I decided to play the same tune with the entree. Let me lay some foundation for you kids right quick. I went with the Horseradish Chimichurri Flank Steak. Marinated, char grilled 10 oz. flank steak, sweet potato puree, grilled broccoli, red onion, and horseradish/parsley chimichurri. And apparently, it is gluten free. But, I could care less about that part. That dish was BEYOND DELICIOUS. If there is one vegetable I hate, (next to anything pickled), it's sweet potato. And turning it in to something that reminds me of baby food? No thanks. But damn, this really blended some in-depth flavors that was making me sample each part of the dish on it's own, and sampling different flavor combinations. This dish was a journey. For real. My steak was cooked to a nice medium rare, topped with sauteed onions and that spicy horseradish chimichurri. Nestled on top of the grilled broccoli and potato puree. The grilled broccoli was INCREDIBLE. I know what you're thinking, "Dude, it's just grilled broccoli." No. You're wrong. Apparently they magic some sort of unicorn infused vinaigrette on them because I'd order 12 ounces of just that, and be content. Upon asking the waitress, she made a pretty vague response to it being drenched in a rosemary sauce of some sort. Incredible. Oh, go with the surf and turf option, too. Some grilled shrimp added to this dish was absolutely stellar. Glad I went off the familiar path and ordered this dish.

Great food can be found here. I love their fish tacos, and their appetizers (tuna goat cheese empanada) were delicious. The empanadas were served with a lemon andoule sauce that was just tasty. Don't shy away from their hot sauce, it's got a great mango sweetness.

If you like the type of food that they would serve on an island resort, this is the place to dine. The restaurant is a little small, so you may have to wait on busy nights. They served complimentary blue chips (sprinkled w/ sugar) and salsa. Some people might find that interesting, some might not like it at all. The salsa was more spicy than mild. The fish tacos were fresh and tasty and the vegetarian meal was very good. The only thing I did not like was the lemon meringue pie, it was too sweet and did not have a strong lemon flavor. You don't feel heavy after you eat here, the food is fresh and light.

  • Sarah R.

The food is phenomenal - we always get the fish tacos. They come with grilled zucchini and coconut black beans - all so good. The fish is lightly seasoned with pickled relish and guac on top. They also have blue corn tortillas for the gluten free peeps out there. I've had their ginger shrimp entree as well which was great. The voodoo shrimp is also great - so so spicy but delicious if you can handle it. It's a very unique app and the servers do a great job of explaining it. Why not 5 stars? Okay. I have worked in multiple restaurants that were extremely busy. We always made an effort to accommodate as many people as possible with the seating we had. That said, this restaurant has a somewhat large dining room but almost all of the tables are 6-tops. They seat groups of 2 and 4 at these tables and it drives me insane. Especially on a Thursday when the wait is almost 2hours. SEPARATE THE TABLES INTO TWO TOPS AND GET MORE SERVERS! You will make more money and customers will be happier. They sat my husband and I at a 6-top the first time we went and we felt so awkward. We could see people waiting for tables staring at us, probably wondering wtf. My suggestion would be to purchase all new 2 tops that are narrower so they don't crowd the space and put them in groups of one and 2 for seating 2-4 people. Then, when larger groups come in, other 2tops can be pulled over. Get rid of the 6-person round tops that just take up space. Most of the groups coming here are 2-4 people. Great food, poor floor plan.

Went here for lunch today, and loved everything I tried. The food is definitely focused around the idea of mixing sweet and spicy- lots of pineapple and jalepeno... I loved it. I kind of want to go back for dinner tonight, it was that good. Shrimp nachos- huge portion, the medium spicy isn't all that spicy at all, and I really loved that these nachos weren't softened by too much cheese- there was a perfect ratio of ingredients. And the slightly sweet Caribbean sauce was delicious. Arepas- four in an order, so totally share-able... got a little kick to them, the pork was tender but could have used a little salt... definitely saved by the great sweet/spicy salsa and the perfect corncakes that the pork sat on. Happy Oysters- I think these oysters are happy because they are deep fried in a sweet cornmeal batter... they definitely made me happy. The oysters were tender, slightly sweet, with no fishy briny taste, creamy and practically melted in my mouth. They were exactly like a very fresh oyster should be... and now that I know what that tastes like, I'll be comparing all future fried oysters to these. They were served with grilled zucchini that was perfectly cooked, and saffron potato cakes that I could have eaten all by themselves. They were also deep fried, but the saffron added a great flavor and they were slightly sweet as well. They were also creamy in the middle, not overly starchy- like perfectly made lump mashed potatoes that have been deep fried. And not that this makes or breaks a restaurant in my opinion, but everything was served really nicely... each dish was like a little mini work of art. More importantly, they get almost all their ingredients locally, and they make everything in house (even hot sauces). So overall, this is one of my new favorite places.

We've consistently had great food here. Fish tacos, chicken burrito (not on the menu) and enchilada acapulco are good choices - all tasty very fresh. The voodoo shrimp has an amazing combination of flavors...if you're up for a little heat. A little more expensive than other local restaurants so tend to come here on more special occasions.

It's quite a drive to get to this place but it's well worth it and I knew that just from reading all the great reviews but my only reason for making it a priority to get here were the Bushwackers, I mean I have been trying to find a bar that serves this drink since I first had it in Pensacola back in the 90's so kudo's on that....that alone is worth the drive. Now on to the food....simply delish as all the previous reviews have already stated. The enchilada acapulco is heaven on a plate! I'd like to shake the hand of the person who came up with this masterpiece of shrimp and a crabcake wrapped together, I must admit I had to get use to the potato cakes but they were ok....ah and the famous fish tacos...again this place is worth the drive. I didn't give it 5 stars as the service was slow.

My family is vegetarian so this review only applies to those dishes. Pescados became one of our favorite restaurants the first time we ate there. They're very creative and make use of healthy ingredients. We usually order the beat salad, tacu tacu (black bean and quinoa cakes on sweet potato puree) and mushroom (vice fish) tacos. Every bite is amazing, every time. And the unique beer list is a great added bonus. Can't say enough about this place, good food and great service. If you're vegetarian you'll be pleasantly surprised despite the seafood inspired name!

First off it is worthwhile to say that there is nothing else like this place around here at all, which is a very good thing. From the outside it looks completely non-descript. It is in the middle of a strip mall on Midlothian between 288 and Courthouse. I have probably driven by it 15-20 times and never even noticed it. Even if I did notice it I probably just assumed it was another small Mexican restaurant and didn't think twice about it. Inside it is rather small, but has seemed pretty well maintained. Not a lot of large tables or private dining rooms. Staff has always been courteous and attentive to whatever we have needed. Now onto the important stuff... The food here is really good and is pretty unique for this area. I had never really had any sort of latin seafood that didn't involve someone using margarita mix and fish, so it was nice to try new things. I've been twice and I don't think any of the dishes my wife or I have ordered has disappointed at all. This last visit I had the enchilda Acapulco with shrimp and crab and it was just ridiculously good. There was (I believe) a lobster cream sauce on top and it really was just delicious. It was served with the saffron potato cakes that are worth a visit by themselves. My wife had the Mahi Martinique which was good, but we both liked the Enchilda better. Not to say this was a bad dish or anything, but the enchilada was really just that good. We haven't made it to dessert yet. :)

I have always heard the Pescados is great and finally managed to visit last week. First of all, I found the prices to be much less than I expected. This is a very reasonable place to eat. I had the Chicken Jamaica and it was awesome! The chicken was perfectly tender and juicy and everything else on the plate was yummy. My date had the fish tacos and they were also delicious. Service was good, too. I will definitely come back! Also, Thursday is "cheap date night" ... and there's a little bit of outdoor seating too, although it's a parking lot view.

Finally had a chance to stop by Pescados for date night with my boyfriend... We stopped in on a Wednesday at around 7:30 or 8pm. We were greeted at the host stand, and put on the waiting list (bout a half hour wait) So we made our way over to the bar. We could already tell how popular this place was, because of the full restaurant, and full bar. The decor inside is very homey, and beach inspired. It looks like a great place to bring the whole family; more of a mom and pop joint rather than a swanky restaurant. Which was actually a nice change for the two of us. We felt very comfortable right when we walked in the door. There's a nice little stand directly behind the bar to stand and set your drinks on when the bar's full, which was nice. We looked over the menu for a while, and examined the cocktail list. While it's full of fun different drinks, most of them are just tropical type drinks, lots of rum. We decided to try the mango mojito and the carribean cosmo. We were seated before our drinks were ready, but the bartender had already taken our name and simply transferred the drinks to our table. I had drink envy with the mojito, it was so good! The carribean cosmo had too much coconut rum for my taste, but was still good. Our waitress greeted us right away, filled our waters, and since we already new what appetizer we wanted, we went ahead and ordered that. Because of the reviews I read earlier, we had to try the crab nachos. We were definitely not disappointed. I would reccommend this as an appetizer for more than just one or two though; because it's huge! It's served with melted jack cheese, freshly diced tomatoes (which you can really taste how fresh they are), lump crab meat, fresh guacamole, cabbage and served with their blue corn chips. Their chips are dusted with sugar, which I didn't know how I'd feel about, but man were they good!! The combination of the flavors in this dish is really great, but don't fill up! We had to box up half of it because it was way too much for the two of us. For entrees, I ordered the sea scallops... SO good. They were served with their signature saffron potato cakes, tomatoes, and your choice of zuccini or broccoli (I picked the grilled zuccini). The scallops were cooked to perfection! They melted in my mouth, a lot of scallops if they aren't cooked right are very rubbery, but these were anything but! So good. And the saffron potato cakes were delicious as well. My boyfriend got one of the specials, which was alaskan halibut. YUM! First of all, the presentation was beautiful. It was served over a risotto cake, with an avacado sauce, roasted fennel, and a blood orange reduction. It was so good! I kept eating off his place, this dish was fantastic. We didn't leave enough room for dessert, I'll know better next time! There are a ton more options I want to try out, so I am definitely putting this place on my list of favorites! Delicious fine dining food in a laid back casual environment... exactly what I've been looking for! I'm so excited for the new location in Oregon Hill!

Made our first visit today for lunch. Shrimp nacho appetizer was plentiful and delicious with a nice mix of flavors. Wife had the Cubano sandwich and rated it an 11 out of 10; I felt the same about my pork tacos. We loved the way the different textures and tastes were combined. The great food was complemented by a friendly and attractive dining area. Service was first-rate as well. Put this place on your list of " must go there" restaurants!

After another new disappointment with the next best trendy restaurant in RVA I always find myself saying, "I should have just gone to Pescados". This place is authentic. It's not a Disneyfied/cartoonish tropical themed restaurant in a redneck outdoor shop. It's not an ironic nod to the parrothead lifestyle a la Conch Republic. It respects seafood by not breading it and frying it into bland obscurity. It's a bona fide temple to seafood and the coast. The dishes are creative, fresh, and constantly changing (particularly the chalkboard specials). I've never had something I disliked here. Never. The flavor-mingling, portions, variety... are all perfect. The drinks could use a dose of the same creativity and a little more oomph. Margaritas should not be delivered from a pitcher made with mix. I'm sorry, but a good margarita/daiquiri blender with drinks made fresh would just send this place totally over the top. Perhaps this is a testament to their devotion to the food. The avocado key-lime pie dessert is absolutely brilliant.

Best latin/miami food in Richmond without question. I always forget about this place as it is in a aging retail strip center. It would probably do better in a larger, stand alone venue. Can't beat the wine list for pricing. You also cannot beat the fresh and spicey seafood dishes. Sadly, I have only been twice and forget about it way too much. Need to get back in there. Try it. You will not be disappointed. Worth the drive if you do not live in the Midlothian area.

Split the fried oysters and calamari appetizers here with my husband. Absolutely amazing. Best fried oysters I have EVER had! Service was great, prices were good. I would definitely recommend it.

My friend chose this restaurant for his going away lunch party. With high expectations, the results were ironic. The dishes I felt were the best, were non-fish appetizers (saffron cakes and arepas). The reason why I rated this place relatively low is not because the taste or quality wasn't good, it's because my least favorite dishes were all the seafood dishes we ordered. I do recommend the conch fritters, but the calamar was not a developed dish. The Tilapia from Sherry Tilapia was slightly overcooked. The voodoo shrimp intentions were to have an egg yolk spill graciously and blend with the sauce, but I was disappointed with an overcooked egg (one of my pet peeves). The los cabos was sub-par, but I think my friends were idiots for ordering a $10 salad; I'm glad none of my friends are psychic. However, the service was phenomenal and the food came out fast. I am being a bit harsh for lunch, but I would come back to try their dinner. I understand it's safer to overcook seafood than for it to be undercooked, but with high expectations and great reviews I judged harshly.

Excellent food, great service and really friendly staff. We had theConch fritters which was superb, the Tamales were OK, I guess they were overshadowed by the Conch. I had the enchilada which was packed with prawn and crab, the sauce was excellent as was the presentation. My daughter had the scallops which was cooked to perfection and my wife the Mahi Mahi which again was cooked beautifully. Great value for money as well.

After a "foodie" friends review of Pescados, I decided to go on a date night. The restaurant was small on the interior but it really emphasized a lively, social atmosphere. While waiting to be seated we got a drink (or two) at the bar where the bartender was friendly and engaging. I love fruity libations so I ordered the Cruzan Voodoo Juice which had the right kick and a perfect balance of sweet. Dinner service was great from the right balance of attention from the server to her also giving us space and time to have conversation and enjoy the meal. I ordered the VooDoo Shrimp because I love spicy foods and in spite of the fact that I am not a fan of soft fried egg. When I cut into the egg it lent an additional creaminess to the bite of shrimp, chorizo and spices. I loved the dish and can't say enough about the presentation. My partner loved his dish as well. I have to say the location creates additional shock about the tasty fine dining experience. To find this food quality, presentation and fun ambiance in a Midlo strip mall was pretty surprising. I would definitely return.

I finally got to go here, and it's as good as the Oregon Hill location, cementing its place in the absolute top tier of Richmond restaurants. We came with seven people and everyone was thoroughly impressed. All dishes were excellent; I had the fish tacos. A thing I love about this place is that it works on every level. People who want a sort of swanky atmosphere will be happy, people who care about food presentation will be happy, conservative eaters will be happy, and people who like to eat very well and inventively will be happy. It's a place I can bring picky in-laws to, and a place to which I can bring adventurous out-of-towners.

I came here for my birthday after visiting Eat and falling in love. If I was judging food alone this place would be 5+++ stars. This restaurant combines two of my favorite things in the world, Latin tastes and seafood. You just can not do better than that. Heaven. The reason I took a star away is because the ambiance is missing. Pescados is tucked away in a strip mall and the decor and service didn't quite match the out of this world food. Either way, it won't stop me from eating here because with food like this I'm happy to make the trek to Midlothian many times over. It's definitely worth the hype.

Everything about this restaurant works. Great food. I mean really great food. Knowledgable , accommodating service, fair prices. Energetic atmosphere though. Not an ideal place for a quiet dinner. Wait can be lengthy on weekends , and for good reason. Pescados is top notch .

The only complaint that I have ever had about this restaurant, and I have been several times since convincing my mum to make dinner one of my 21st birthday presents, is that I still yearn for the crabcake towers with fried green tomatoes I had at that landmark dinner and haven't seen them since. The menu changes reasonably regularly, though there are staples that remain constant, though I admit I don't eat out regularly, it's a treat for me... and always worth what I pay and more. The ambiance is warm and friendly without being loud and annoying, the food is absolutely delectable and comes in decent sized portions so you don't feel overcharged at all [my yellow cliff shrimp and sweet potatoes and suchlike made for marvelous breakfast as well last time, for example] and the combinations of main dish and sides they put together always mesh beautifully. I frankly love even the free nibbles though it took me a while to figure out what was 'odd' about the chips- they have sugar on them which compliments the fabulous salsa wonderfully. The staff is always lovely and apologetic about the often considerable wait. They do not take reservations, so I try to go on, say, a thursday when it's not too packed.

This is, hands down, my favorite restaurant on the Southside. Surprisingly, my mom told me about it and we tried it out on a Friday evening. There was a little wait, but we sat at the bar and tried their ecletic mojito selection. I had the strawberry basil mojito and she had tha mango mint mojito. So good. Once our table was ready, they transferred the tab and we were served hot chips and a very good pico de gallo. I love pico de gallo. We ordered the angry goat for an app that was served with a tangy ceviche and the combination of both was DELICIOUS. They also have a selective wine list, considering its a bit more of a casual place. For entrees we got the skewer trio and the shrimp/scallop banderillas. The scallops and tilapia were cooked beautifully. The accompanying sauces were so good and the saffron potato cakes were tasty. I wish we'd had room for dessert to try the avacado tart but perhaps another time. If you're ever in Midlothian, this is the place to go.

Was in search of a place to grab a bite to eat after a long day of business travel/work in the Richmond area and Yelp guided me to Pescados. It's located in a strip mall but that was about par for the course. I walked in and sat at the bar and was tended to immediately. I decided on the Mahi St. Martin. The dish came out and I was impressed immediately. It was a nice piece of fish on top of curry spiced quinoa with roasted vegetables. It was fantastic and exactly what I was looking for in a healthy meal out. I could not have asked for anything better. I also really like the atmosphere of the place and was impressed by the large copper bar. I would definitely recommend pescados for anyone who is not familiar with the area!

I have always loved Pescados in Midlo. Just wished it wasn't so far away, it has different food and drink menus than the one on china street. But I went last night for the SEVA GRREAT(golden retriever) fundraiser and it was again really good. The jalapeno margarita, which was comparable to the drink before named salty chihuahua, was abit too intense, so decided on the bushwhacker. Even though they call it the St. Croix bushwhacker, it so reminds me of the drink you have to have when you go to Pensacola, FL. I had ordered the acapulco enchiladas before which was a massive plate of fabulousness, but decided to go for something abit lighter. I had the mahi mahi martinique, which was light, but oh so good. Just the right serving size and the saffron polenta was just the right nutty texture. I loved the coriander crusting on the mahi mahi. Always a good staple and worth the drive; the fact that they have their fish flown in fresh daily definitely says something. glad it's lasted through the recession.

A bit pricey but had a Groupon coupon- in future would just get an appetizer or entree as it is a lot of food. Worth it though. Thanks to reviews here I tried the Vodoo Shrimp which elevated this review from a 4 to 5. I found it to be very hot- waitress advised eating the banana and bread to cut the heat. Bread bowl had some kind of seeds in it- very good. Waitress very friendly and helpful. Entree was the enchilado which was good- a lot of food and took home leftovers. my husband have the steak which was overcooked to M-MW instead of MR. He didn't seem to care though. It was OK- likely would have been better if MR. Took advice of others on drinks and only ordered the $3 happy hour shiraz- which was excellent for price. Table next to me complained about their weak (non-happy hour) cocktails. Only complaint would be the drinks need to be greatly improved with an inventive bartender. Some quality creative rum based drinks with banana or mango would have been perfect. Definately will come back again. Next time may make a meal out of the Voodo Shrimp- nice rum flavor in that. Warning it gets busy- we avoided the rush by getting there by 6.

Delicious! Don't let the strip mall location and bar in the front door deter you. The shrimp and fish were amazing and the broccoli app was terrific. Will definately make a point to return here.

I've been accused of being a woefully picky eater. I like to think of myself as discerning; the BF uses the pejorative "neurotic". Whatever. I was really wondering what the BF was thinking/smoking when he took my "neurotic" ass all the way out to Midlothian for some nourishment. I held my tongue though; mostly because the inevitable sideways glare or *fingers crossed* smack to the side of the head wasn't on my personal menu that night. But I digress. Wow. Good thing I kept my trap shut. Pescados reads at an advanced level - it's the bombdiggity, yo! Wonderfully, innovatively scrumptious. Period. Ever heard of a saffron potato cake? Now you have. Now go try it. They play delightful, melt in your mouth second fiddle to some of the most delicious, fresh sea creatures served in Richmond: Mahi Mahi, Crab Cakes, Enchilada Acapulco, Sherry Scallops, Calamar a la Parilla - omg, get in my belly. All of you are welcome. Simply put, this establishment is basic in trappings, exceptional in cuisine. I've also heard through the grapevine that another venue is opening up in Richmond proper. And I, for one, can't wait to fatten up like the Christmas goose I was born to be when that fateful day materializes.

I was hesitant to go to Pescados as it is mainly a seafood restaurant and being a vegetarian I din't think I will find anything good for dinner. But I was pleasantly surprised by the few but really good veg options. My friends I started with the Macho Nachos. The hugeee heap of Blue corn tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa.. seriously good.. Next, we tried Pastelon which is plaintain strips with veggies and some carribean sauce.. more like lasagna.. I have never had plaintain in this form and it was very tasty. Oh and their chips and salsa was pretty good too.. liked the sugar sprinkled blue chips.. My friend had the Los Cabos salad which had mangoes and pine nuts with goat cheese and enchilada acapulco which she said was realllyyy good.. As for desserts, we had some dessert which has mango in rum cinnamon/brown sugar sauce with icecream and it was pretty amazing.. The avocado key lime tart was awesome.. I would definitely come back!!

I tried to go to this restaurant on the last day (a Thursday) that my Amazon Local Voucher was valid. Although we arrived at what I thought to be early (5:20 p.m.) there was an hour wait. I asked if I could get the food to go and the hostess told me to order at the bar. After standing there for 15 minutes the Manager told me that takeout was not possible via the voucher. I told her it was fine as long as my voucher could be extended for a day or week (I had a meeting I had to go to later that evening and couldn't wait for hours). She refused to do this saying that I had 3 months, indicating it was my fault for coming in the last day and it would just have to expire. At this point the line had wrapped well outside the building and based on the size of the restaurant it was likely a two hour wait. They were obviously unprepared for such a crowd but the restaurant should have given a day or week's extension rather than making potential customers miserable. There was not even a place to sit in order to wait and I am undergoing cancer treatments and easily fatigued. Evidently even my kerchief covered bald head didn't faze her, she expected me to stand on my feet for a couple of hours !

My first 5 stars! We went there for our anniversary and it was very, very good. The decor is not pretentious. Our hostess was sweet and the waitress was just right. It was date night so we shared a bottle of wine and a desert for $9. We had the voodoo shrimp appetizer. My wife had a seafood enchilada and I had ginger scallops. The food was beautiful and excellent. Our bill was very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. A perfect evening!!

Amazing! Pescado's is by far one of my favorite Richmond restaurants. It boasts having the freshest fish around, mostly all wild caught. The greens served for their salads come from a farm right down the road. Both of these facts make it good, but the food takes it up to another level. All of the dishes that I've had have been exquisite in both preparation, presentation and taste. The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable. Defintely worth a visit!

We stopped here on a snowy Saturday. Tired of the typical Richmond Mexican fare, we located Pecados on the Yelp iPhone app. When we arrived, there was a couple and the cook, who stated that he was also waiting that day on account of the weather. Started with the chips and salsa. The chips were uneventful, but the salsa was very tasty. For the entry, my wife ordered beef tacos, I the chicken burrito and my son the chicken nuggets. The grilled veggies were prepared perfectly and were tasty enough that my anti-vegetable wife even ate some of it. The black beans had a base that was part coconut milk. It was by far the richest and best tasting black beans I've had. The reason for the four stars was based on the main course for both of us. My burrito was interesting and would have rated better, were it not for chorizo, which did not complement the other ingredients of the burrito. As for the beef tacos, it just didn't work. We most certainly will visit here again, but the next time, we'll try one of the fish dishes!

if you're not 'ascared' of spice, get the voodoo shrimp appetizer. it's one of my favorite meals in all of rva. banana and shrimp done right with habanero peppers and brandy sauce over a thick piece of toast with a lightly fried egg on top. when you break the yolk it just oozes into the rest of the dish creating THE PERFECT MEAL. and to top it all off? chorizo is thrown in the mix. WHAAAAAAT!

A friend recommended this restaurant, but since it's a fairly significant drive from home, it took me a while to make it out here. The restaurant has really interesting decor (e.g. eclectic paintings on the wall), but definitely has the atmosphere of a nice seafood place. Our waitress was friendly, but seemed a bit artificial. Every time she turned around, I could see the smile on her face quickly disappear; she may have thought I didn't notice, but I could see the side of her face even after she turned around, and I definitely noticed. She was cordial during the entire dinner, but it just didn't seem very genuine. But, the food was excellent. I ordered the Enchilada Acapulco, which had some quality pieces of seafood in it, but was a bit small and therefore not that filling for me. I had to stock up on the complimentary blue tortilla chips and salsa. I much preferred my friend's fish dish, one of the specials that evening. The other friend ordered the whole fried fish, was tasty but the fish was a little overdone in my opinion. Overall, the dishes are on the pricier side, but the quality of the food is excellent.

  • Lauri T.

Absolutely, positively delicious. I can't remember the last time I had such a unique dish that stole my heart. The Enchilada Acapulco is what has me oh so excited about Pescados! This is the perfect marriage of seafood and Caribbean cuisine. Can you imagine the flavor explosions that are possible when you combine those two types of food? Well, you don't have to imagine because I'm about to tell ya! The Enchilada Acapulco is an enchilada filled with a crab cake (gasp!), wild caught shrimp (double gasp!), and carmelized onion, served in a flour tortilla with saffron potato cakes, grilled zucchini and lobster/lime cream. If that sounds like a genius creation, it's because it is. My favorite things in life are crab cakes. Put one inside an enchilada and I'm sold. Every single bite was seriously unbelievable. It was sweet, salty, soft, and firm at the same time. I didn't have to wait long, so I was afraid that my food might have been sitting under a heat lamp for hours or something. I was wrong; it was unbelievably fresh. The crab cake was perfectly meaty and well-seasoned. The lobster/lime cream sauce added a flavorful touch and the dish wouldn't have been the same without it. I'm pretty sure the potato cakes had crack in them (SO good!), and the zucchini was plump and juicy (albeit a little scarce). Other thoughts? The service was impeccable. I brought my laptop along to do some work while I ate my lunch. She seemed to be super aware that I was in deep thought, but she still managed to be very attentive and helpful. I'm coming back as soon as I can to try other items on the menu. Next time, I'm bringing the whole fam with me! :)

If the atmosphere and décor matched the food, this would be a 5-star rating. I've only been to Pescados once and for lunch, but sometimes you can tell when a menu is solid. I got the Los Cabos salad, which is field greens, pine nuts, goat cheese, red onion, avocado, mango, mango vinaigrette. DELICIOUS! What great complementary flavors. I also go the braised pork tacos with jack cheese, cabbage, tomato, pickled red onion, coconut black beans, grilled zucchini, and spicy jalapeño. This came with black beans and sliced grilled zucchini. FULL OF AMAZING FLAVOR! The service was nice and relaxed. The atmosphere and décor are just plain strange. A restaurant with carpet is just weird. Take up the carpet, put in hardwood floors, paint over the strange murals on the walls and it'd be a vast improvement without changing a stick of furniture or fixture. Better yet, relocate to a cool Fan location and get out of this strip mall. For the food and the accompanying price, you just expect to have a nicer atmosphere to complete the experience. I cannot stress more that the food. is. incredible. This could be an LG Top 10, but not in Midlothian, and not without a fresher look.

I ordered the Chicken Jamaica. It had a hint of spice, but was sooooooooo salty! I was was so hungry (hadn't eaten all day, traveling into Richmond from Chicago), I seriously had to just eat it. Other than that, service was good and staff was very friendly.

First impressions are lacking. Highly. For such high reviews I'm assuming that all of these outrageous reviews are based solely on the food... The wait staff is dressed unprofessionally, the kitchen is essentially in the bar... If you want a full restuarant experience don't park up here at the bar. I think for the insane prices that the restaurant should reflect the prices, but it didn't. There was a dusty palm tree behind the bar, and stacks of papers and crap behind the bar, glasses drying on the bar and the general feel of the restaurant was "meh", based on the carelessness of the interior it makes me second guess the food. The nachos were good, fresh and lots of them, but again with the basic dirty view of the place I didn't want to eat any more food here.

  • Dionysica S.

AMAZING!!! The appetizers and entrées were delicious. It was a very friendly atmosphere. Our waitress Meghan was very friendly and attentive. The Macho Nachos were very tasty. They also have an outdoor seating area which was very nice. The food will keep you coming back for more.

I ate here based on the high reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The menu selections were very complex so forgive my simplistic descriptions. For apps we had Tangy Cauliflower and Chicken Soup which was amazing, and Black Bean and Cheese Dip. The dip was outstanding and I was so pleased that it was melted shredded cheese instead of "cheese sauce." Our entrees were Snook (fish) over Coconut Rice with Asparagus and Crab Cakes with Potato Cakes, and Asparagus. Again, both dishes were outstanding. I highly recommend you visit Pascados, this is not your ordinary cuisine and there are lots of opportunities to be adventurous.

Lots of great reviews finally got me motivated to head south-side to give this place a go. Came at lunch on a weekday and it was not busy. The decor was ok and you can tell it was not something the owner pumped money into (which is ok with me). We started with the conch fritters which were very good. The conch was meaty and did not have a fishy taste. The mango-habenero aioli was killer. I could not tell which was better the fritter or the aioli. However, both together were great! If I had listened to my server I would have probably rated this place a 4 star joint! However, I did not listen and ordered the Voodoo Shrimp. The server was recommending I go with the Mahi St Martin and get it spicy. Nope, I did not listen and wish I did. The shrimp in the Voodoo dish was tasty and great flavor to go with it. It was the bananas in the sweet and savory sauce on top of a multi-grain bread that threw it all off for me. Pescados is on the pricier side of restaurants. The seafood was fresh and had great taste. The service was 4 stars, the recommendation was 4 stars but it was choice that gave it a 3. I will definitely try it again and update the review.

Only stayed long enough for drinks and apps, which may have been a mistake... All the entrees coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Just a few things didn't keep us in our seats to complete our meal. One: our waitress/bartender was bluntly cold and rude. No eye contact, inability to make small talk, couldn't be bothered type attitude. Wanted to give her a big F off, but killed her with kindness instead. Two: Ordered two apps that where so spicy I knew diarrhea was in true works. Check please.

I have always love this restaurant! Then I downgraded it because the menu slipped [maybe food prices, I am not sure] I went in the other night and had sheepshead fish over lemon couscous; I am back in love. I am glad they are still part of our food community!!

Dining at Pescado's truly makes any occasion a special one. The service is always excellent--knowledgeable, helpful, and very personable. The food is always inventive, skillfully executed, and well-thought-out from start to finish. You would never imagine that such a gem was hidden in this typical-looking plaza. I love the Latin Caribbean flair. Everything on the menu has the perfect touch of spice, citrus-y pop, and just the right balance of fruit-kissed sweetness. So far, I have tried the beets, tweets, and sweets green plate and the ever-so-popular red snapper. They are both absolutely delicious! Watch out though because if you come late, the snapper will be sold out. The snapper is a delicious whole snapper covered in a slightly citrusy glaze that tastes like it has a hint of mango fried up crispy with a moist, tender flesh. All of this is served in a citrusy lemon-rosemary mojo with crispy saffron potato cakes. To get this meal gluten-free, you just sub the potato cakes with something else. I thought the fish was delicious, but I did feel like it was missing a hint of something green, maybe like green onion in the sauce or even a hint of fresh citrus after cooking. It truly was a delicious special treat! I would recommend the dish to anyone. The beets n tweets, or roasted beets, sweet potatoes, and chicken made me love beets. I hated them, but they are perfect with sweet potatoes. Mmm, mmmm, mmm! As far as desserts, I've had the mango with the ice cream, which is mango sauteed in a cinnamon glaze over vanilla ice cream with cinnamon sugar tortilla chips. It is such a delicious, light, but very special treat! For a gluten-free option, just ask for it without the chips. It's still delightful! The avocado tart, however, is just purely amazing, even as much as I loved the mango. The avocado is creamy, slightly tart, and just perfect in every way, especially with the spiced up guava glaze and a crunchy and flavorful graham crust. It is not gluten-free, but I tasted a some of my husband's filling. Wonderful! You have never had anything like this before, but it sure is divine! It's most similar to key lime pie, but wayyyyy better. I hate key lime pie and loved this! As far as libations are concerned, they have a really great variety of beers and mixed drinks. I don't drink, but my husband enjoyed the Crabby's (gluten-free), which even I didn't think was bad (that says a lot coming from me because I do not drink ever), and my husband loved the sangria too. The Crabby's actually tasted a bit like homemade ginger ale. It was very refreshing. Happy hour here is a really great deal, and it lasts for a good amount of time as well. The only con I find at Pescado's is that I find the portion of sides to be very unbalanced in comparison to the size of the entree. Some people may find this to be a plus, but it's just not the way that I prefer to eat. I like to have a balance of veggies and meat. Their entrees tend to be more protein-focused with a couple bites of veggies. Just the same, the veggies are always perfectly-cooked and absolutely delicious! Pescado's is the perfect date-night restaurant, and I love that, getting there doesn't involve fighting too much traffic, like those places out in Short Pump. The prices are high, of course, but the quality is very much worth it! If you want to make someone feel special, take them to Pescado's! It never disappoints!

On yesterday while I was paying the wonderful town of Midlothian a visit, I decided to stop by Pescados. I've heard much about this place and the only time I tried to dine at this place, I was told the wait time would be 30 minutes, so I decided to leave. But on yesterday there was no wait time and I was seated immediately. How did my experience go? Read below to find out. The Good: Service- Upon walking into the restaurant, I was greeted by a friendly hostess who seemed eager to see me. I was seated and then greeted by my server. My server was very knowledgeable of the menu and was able to answer any of my questions. After placing my order, the food came out within 10 minutes which was a plus. There wasnt much more I could have asked out of the service for that experience. Taste- I ordered the Fish Tacos, which comes with two tacos, beans and some garnishes. Everything on the plate was freshly made. The flavors were very nice and I can honestly say this is the best Fish Taco that I have ever had (using Alamo BBQ and Ruby Tuesdays as comparison). Food Presentation- Too often there are restaurants that take little effort in making sure the food on dishes looks presentable. Pescados goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that their food looks great. It seems as though everything on the Fish Taco dish was strategically placed in certain areas which had to have taken some time and attention to detail. The dish looked so good I was almost afraid to eat it. The Not So Good: Price/Portion- When eating one of the best Fish Taco dishes that Ive ever had, I couldnt help but notice that the dish (two tacos and beans) cost $17. While the flavors may be able to justify such a high price, the portion size certainly does not. A person could have gotten two fish tacos and a side of beans from Alamo BBQ for about $7 less. Of course it wouldnt be the same quality, but for those on a budget, $17 can go a long way towards feeding someone. Overall- Very nice experience with great service, great food but can be somewhat pricy. If you have the money then this is a nice place to go for any occasion. If you dont have the money, then this is a place to go for special occasions. FOUR STARS.

Quaint, understated and worth the try. We started with Macho Nachos. Which was piled high with fresh ingredients topped with the tastiest guacamole. Our main course included Mojo Salmon and Guava Lime Scallops. Each dish was absolutely delicious to say the least. I cleaned my plate! It was so damn tasty! Plus the way the food is displayed is exquisite. Definitely a must try. I went for a date night and it was perfect. We also sat near a family with children and they seemed completely happy with their service and food options.

Tonight I downsized to small plate of rockfish salmon ceveche with fennel and grapefruit. The acidity of this was counterd by the sweet potato and beet salad. The combination will be on my mind until the next time...

Pescados is always delicious. I had the Artic Char (special for last night ) and it was amazing. The chefs never disappoint. Our waiter made sure our glasses were never empty despite the packed house. I would go there every night if I could. Love this restaurant!

We went to Pescado's in Midlothian, VA today for Jesse's birthday. We had the Voodoo shrimp and it was delisherous. It was spicy and the egg gave it a rich flavor that complimented the shrimp and banana very well. Next we had the mango, vanilla ice cream, with crisper strips. The sweet sauce tasted excellent.. I believe it had brandy. The Maryland rockfish was also very good. Pescados is not for everyone. If you like to try new flavors, and explore different concoctions, you will love Pescados. They have some foods that push the limit of the sweet and the spicy. I have been to this restaurant several times and have had very good experiences. One time the dessert crispy chipers were larger and dessert didnt taste as it should. That was once out of probably 12 visits. All and all I feel that this is one of the best restaurants in Richmond, if not the best.

We are in out of town for a lacrosse tourney in the area and found this place as we wanted something local. We tried it for lunch and then made our way back for dinner. The seafood is fresh with plenty of options for all kinds of tastes. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I always rate places on price to value and this establishment gets the 5 stars.

Great food! Nice to find healthy mix options built in to each dish. Suggest dinner plate price should be lowered to the $14-$15 range though, instead of $17-$19.

Pescados is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I used to go to the one in Oregon Hill near The Fan until it closed down. Great quality food with tasty flavors. Definitely worth visiting if you've never been.

Grosssssssssssssss! Maybe I'm just too picky... everything is SUPER different. Ordered nachos & hated them. Then tried the crabcakes... hated it. Hated my sides as well. The chips and salsa and unsweet tea were pretty good though :/ & the service was good. I'm just too picky of an eater for how different this is from most seafood places around the area. I prefer Hardshell or Water Grill for sure.

Amazing! I had the Voodoo Shrimp which was a marriage of heat and sweet. Very unique dish which would bring me back by itself. For the main course, I had to try the much lauded Fish Tacos. No disappointment. GF had the Enchiladas Alcapulco which were absolutely delicious. Nice beer selection, comfortable seating, and friendly waitstaff. What's not to love?

Wow! + Ow! = Voodoo Shrimp. It's super spicy, almost painful, but the combination of flavors keeps me wanting more. I like to cool off between bites with a muddled Jalapeño Margarita, oh yea it's good! I have been to Pescados at least a dozen times, each time I find a favorite dish.
