Its a great location right in the mist of mosiac district. I love to sit at the window and enjoy my favorite salad Guacamole Greens

My FAVORITE place to eat. I eat here about 3-4 times a week. Have nothing bad to say about this place. The seasonal salads right now are amazing. The peach and goat cheese salad is my go to currently but guacamole greens, rad thai and the earth bowl are some of my staple favorites! Try it, you won't regret it!

I've been coming to Sweetgreen for years and am never disappointed. Majority of ingredients are local and seasonal. Every salad I've had is delicious and satisfying. My favorite is the spicy sabzi and my husband's favorite is the kale caeser. You can also create your own salad, but I recommend trying one off the menu first. They have a seasonal lemonade that's really good, too; my favorite is blueberry basil. So proud to know that this chain started in Georgetown and is growing so fast!

I remember being in boston trying to get Sweetgreen with lines out the door and salad engineers who were slow as shit. This location is so much quicker, carefree, and efficient. Best part about being in DC area in the summer / fall? Crab sourced locally that I can use to load up my sweetgreen salads. Boolah!

Would I pay $11 for a bowl of leaves? It might make my wallet cry, but I'll fork over my hardearned monayy if I'm looking for something low calorie and relatively filling to offset some naughty food shenanigans without having to make a trip to the grocery store (aka, I'm desperate). I had the Rad Thai salad and while there was nothing remotely Asian-inspired about it other than some bean sprouts, the veggies were phresh to death and there was an abundance of shramp. When it's salad dressing time, I suggest asking for light/medium veggie soakage as even the light was a little too much dressing for my liking. I appreciate the slice of complimentary bread they throw in with your order. They must know that deep down inside - even those who seek leafy greens cannot resist the satisfaction of carbs. I'll most likely be back to try some of their other options; I highly recommend getting some of their seasonal toppings. Will C. had some in-season baby tomatoes in his salad and they were deliciously sweet!

Big fan of Sweetgreen, not so much the Merrifield location. Customer service seriously needs improvement. They meander behind the counter, uncaring that there are people waiting. On my very last visit I made a comment about the portion size. The staff had the nerve to talk back at me, then proceeded to mumble under his breath. Hey buddy, I eat at Sweetgreen once a week, do not take me for a fool. Sweetgreen makes a decent salad but I would skip this location. I have no interest in a business that utterly fails at customer service.

i have tried this place several times in different locations and though it is a little pricey, i'm a fan! today i tried a seasonal salad, the peach with goat cheese. It had toasted almonds and basil and I added chicken. The combo of peach goat cheese the toasted almond and basil was SO delicious! Can't wait to try the watermelon and feta one and many others!

First time here and had high hopes for this place. I tried the guacamole greens salad, as I'm a big fan of avocados. The salad was just okay and small portion relative to its cost. Great healthy meal choice though. I noticed a wide variety of ingredients. So if I do come back, I would skip the feature salads and make my own salad with quinoa, whole eggs, avocado, and double the roasted chicken :)

  • Yan W.

The salad and soup I got was good, but it definitely was not $17 good... I think for that price, i could have gotten lunch at BOTH chipotle (across the street) AND Cave Mezza Grill (next door). I use LevelUP (and they have a sweetgreen app which is pretty much the same thing), so my purchase after the 5$ discount was $12, but I still think $12 is too much for a soup and salad from a "fast food" establishment.

  • Frank F.

Too expensive for what you're getting. They actually got rid of the Agave Dijon dressing???!!!!! BAD MOVE!!! That was an all time favorite. Not sure if I'll return again....especially now that my fav dressing is no longer available. Head over to Cava next door

  • Xinyi T.

I went to sweet green couple times when i feel like i need to do some de-toxing. It's very healthy and fresh. Of course healthy doesnt mean it taste good. I's pretty pricey for just raw vegetable put together. You can go to MOM a block away and get everything with the same quality for much cheaper.

I love this place. I'm so into " green" so this is definitely my kind of food. I love the concept they have and the fact that they are creating a consious about taking care of our home ( the planet). I also love that people that works there is happy people, always smiling and very nice. One of my best rest. in Mosaic

  • Joan P.

Great salads and a super clean store, love their staff!

    (5)
  • Kim P.

I mean... I don't know. It's a ridiculously overpriced salad that I could make better myself at home, for way less. $12 for a salad and a drink? That's ridiculous. The restaurant was very clean though, and staff very friendly. That's about all they have going for them.

    (2)
  • Jessica L.

Loved the "Earth Bowl" here as well as the bread that was served with it. Salads here are definitely on the pricier side at ~$13-14 a serving, but I didn't mind splurging a little on a salad with such fresh ingredients, tasty quinoa, and an amazing pesto dressing. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because the fresh berry lemonade tasted more like grass than lemonade. If that's what organic lemonade tastes like, no thanks! Not sure what happened, but after leaving the vicinity my girlfriend and I both just tossed ours. So skip the lemonade! Next time I come I'd really like to try their froyo, I'll let you guys know how it is!

My first experience at Sweetgreen was maybe about 5 years ago in Georgetown. Never been back to a Sweetgreen since. I am a total Chopt girl. I have definitely worn out my frequent choppers card (which is now level up, also used by Sweetgreen woo) While I do wish there was a Chopt in Mosiac (sorry, I do!) I gave Sweetgreen another try, upon the recommendation by Lia M, who swears by it. I was pleasantly surprised to see my experience was better than it was a few years ago. I'd even consider putting into my rotation of other lunch time loves (Cava and Taylor)

  • Layla L.

Their food is good but they raised their prices and I just can't justify $10-12 for a salad.... And tell me how this makes sense: Roasted turkey and fall greens salad $9.35 Greens Brussels sprouts Sweet potato Turkey Vs. Custom salad $6.35 Greens 4 ingredients (so let's say brussel sprouts, sweet potato plus 2 others) Add chicken $2.25 =$8.60 which is actually more for less So you can get the exact same thing for different prices it all depends how you order...

    (3)
  • Kim T.

I love sweetgreen! It is on the pricier sides, but all their ingredient are brought in locally or they will indicate the location. I usually go here after my workout at the Xsport fitness center next door. Great way to refuel after a long session at the gym! Stay strong, stay SWEET and GREEN!

  • Melissa D.

My gf and I stopped in after a fitness class (I wanted pizza but was forced into lettuce). The decor and set up is really cute, hip, and tidy, definitely a hipster hangout in Mosaic. I was a bit confused about the ordering process- some items were listed in hand-writing that was a bit too small to read, or may my eyes aren't as good as everyone else's. I also couldn't locate a hand-held menu so when it was my turn I winged it and it turned out alright! My base salad was $6 and some change which includes lettuce, veg, and a protein..or so I thought? Again, it was hard to make sense of the items listed on the boards. I opted for romaine and added cucumber, peppers, chicken, and cheese mixed in cucumber dressing..cheese is an additional charge which I wasn't aware of either at the time. My reasonable, fairly bare salad came to over $10..it's not like I was getting a chunk of chicken and cheese in every bite, it was just a little pricey for what I got. I will definitely be back and more prepared for ordering next time- the salad was quite big and lasted me for a couple hours.

I really like the Kale Caesar Salad from here. The kale tastes surprisingly good together with the romaine lettuce and the caesar dressing. I went medium on the dressing and thought it was good enough. It was came with shaved (better than shredded) Parmesan cheese. And the Parmesan crisp was amazing! Everything went very well together.

If you want a meal that tastes great and leaves you feeling better after you finish, Sweetgreen is your place. What makes their salads a great combination of tastes are the ingredients they offer. For the first time, go with a salad with the ingredient choices already made. The choices of the topping ingredients change seasonally, but their choices of bases and greens remain the same. I love their warm grain base of quinoa and farro, it goes with all their greens and all the toppings. It is the quality of their toppings that leaves you feeling satisfied, but never heavy or sleepy. Everything is REALLY fresh and REALLY from a nearby farm. For example, I don't like the taste of feta cheese, except I love feta at Sweetgreen where it complements the greens and is never bitter. Their bread is really yummy, so always say yes when they offer it.

  • Jane P.

I love this place. You can get fresh and healthy food options within seconds. Everything here tastes delicious and I am always satisfied. I usually get the create your own creation. For this you get to choose the greens you want, four toppings, a cheese, and dressing. You can get a choice of protein on the side and even half of an avocado! I got the chicken with my salad and I choose carrots, grapes, onions, and tomatoes as my toppings. I would recommend you get grapes if you love sweet and salty combinations. The grapes are perfect with the salad because it adds the perfect sweetness. They had so many dressing choices and I asked the guy which one was the most popular dressing and he said it was the lime cilantro dressing. This was really good! I also tried their frozen yogurt! You have to try this. I love how the yogurt was no sweet, but it tasted like real yogurt that was frozen. I got three topping and it made the froyo taste even better!!! I put toasted coconut, toasted almonds, and to add sweetness a drizzle of agave. Going back to get more! The only downfall is the price. It's pretty pricy, but I guess for good quality food, that's what you have to pay. Still worth it and will always crave!

  • Elina Y.

Love coming to this place for salads. Fresh local produce and super healthy. Can't go wrong with Sweetgreen. The average price for a salad with protein is around $10. I love how easy it is to swap toppings. I got the Guacamole Greens salad and loved all the ingredients in it (avocado, kale, grape tomatoes, roasted chicken, lime juice, red onions) except for the mesclun and tortilla chips but they easily swapped those two out and I got spinach and alfalfa sprouts instead. No problemo. The only downer is that I got specks of roasted chicken cubes. But it was just too delicious to put a damper on my lunch session. And the lime cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette is SUPERB. Just the right amount of tanginess with a little kick. UGH. SO GOOD. Plus, it comes with a slice of buckwheat bread. Super soft and moist (hate using that word but "spongy" would just sound weird).

  • Sarah P.

Every time I'm in the area I go here Love the salads. As I should for a $10-$14 one, but so worth it every once in a while.

Who knew that the secret to tolerating beets and and kale is to cut them up into tiny little morsels and sprinkle them like colorful, glittering gems over a hearty salad? Lesson learned, lesson learned. Kale always felt so leathery and difficult to chew, almost like more work than it was worth - not so anymore. And beets with their gorgeous drenched color are usually so slippery. Alas, I noshed on the SPICY SABZI, and learned many things about proper salad prep. I ordered it with a medium amount of dressing and a medium dose of sriracha hot sauce. It was just the perfect degree of heat. Nice and crunchy and completely filling. (Ingredients, for the curious reader: organic baby spinach + shredded kale with spicy quinoa, spicy broccoli, carrots, raw beets, basil, sprouts and roasted tofu; topped with a carrot chili vinaigrette and a squeeze of sriracha hot sauce.) And don't miss their fro-yo at the end of your meal. It's unlike any frozen yogurt that I've ever experienced before. It actually tastes like YOGURT! Yup, I said it. Tart, slightly sweet, and super d-lish. Sweetgreen is the real deal. Do your health a flavor and hit this place up on the reg.

I literally like everything here! My go to is the kale caesar. So fresh and hearty at a caloric discount. The spicy sabzi and rad Thai and guacamole greens are also very good. Basically everything on their menu rocks, service is fast, and they source locally. Their seasonal salads (like the roasted turkey) arts also very good. This place is much better than chopt.

  • Nixia T.

First timer here. I'm impressed with the freshness of my salad. I couldn't tell the organic aspects of it, but honestly I don't think anyone really can. I created my own salad with roasted salmon, spinach, avocado, and so on. The salmon is well marinated even tho the portion in on the smaller side. Very generous portion of avocado, thank you Sweetgreen. The rest of the ingredients are just purely fresh, and honestly that's all I ever wanted in a salad besides trying to eat healthy. I will go back whenever I crave a bowl of green for sure.

  • Emily T.

I got the rad thai and subbed shrimp for chicken. The salad was delicious, but didn't really taste like pad thai, which the salad was an homage to. The sunflower seeds didn't add anything special and made the salad higher in calories. When asked for either light, medium, or heavy salad dressing, I requested a medium amount - big mistake. There was way too much dressing. I suspect you can make this salad for cheaper by just making a custom salad considering there isn't really that much red cabbage and the sunflower seeds are unnecessary. This place was nice. The service was quick, the establishment was clean, and the salad was delicious. I do think the salad was way too expensive (around $11.00). Even though it's a big salad, it's not really enough to justify spending that kind of money on a salad. I might return if I'm craving a salad on the go, but this wont ever be something I go out of my way for. I have a Chop't near my apartment and I can get way more salad for less money and the quality is about the same.

So I can walk to sweetgreen from my place, and unfortunately I would rather get in the car and drive to sweet leaf in Vienna. I'm not sure what happened to sweetgreen but, Im no longer a fan. They change their menu often but, take away the really good things like ranch and Krispy kale. Seems the portions are also smaller and the price has certainly increased. I'm only giving 3 stars because I appreciate good service. However, in the future I will opt of sweet leaf or chopt once they finally open in Vienna.

    (3)
  • Caroline F.

Everything here is great. Definitely get the warm bread on the side. The only thing is the price- it can get as high as 11 or 12 for one salad.

  • Tom T.

Salad in and of itself was a destination drive for me. The non-present help at 1:45pm on 12/23/2014 was as much as speaking to a box of rocks. Complete apathy with me, her job and really put this place low on my salad destinations in the future... Perhaps in the summer when she is sure to have quit or fired by then. Salad-1. Help-0

  • Gemi H.

I've had pretty bad luck with being overcharged here on 2 occasions . Very frustrating when my $7 salad somehow got charged as $15. This location needs a new cashier . Not a fan of this location.

  • Eboni B.

For the prices of the salads (that you can either make yourself OR visit another venue), I would've expected better service. I did not even get to order a salad because the service was bad as soon as I walked in the door. I end up ordering just lemonade. There will not be a return visit for me because customer service is a must. High prices, high calories (for a salad) and bad service. They can keep it! Perhaps the place overall had a bad day...hope you experience better.

Living the sweetlife! Thank you Sweetgreen for feeding me today. Sweetgreen participated in a Yelp event tonight and were awesome host. They salads were wonderful. So many fresh options to put in my salad, to include several different types of protein. If I crave salad, I will definitely come to sweetgreen. And the service was great as well.

Yay! Another Sweetgreen opened near me. I'm really loving the new Mosaic District and all the "DC" spots that are opening up here. It's really going to be a great spot. On one of the days I was exploring the new spots that had opened, I stopped into Sweetgreen for lunch. Aesthetically, the design of the place is nice, but it's really small. If it's busy and there's a line, you have to wrap around a cluster of tables. I'd feel awkward if I was sitting there. The guy who made my salad was awesome. He was very enthusiastic and excited that I was the first "March Salad" order that he got. However the girl who mixed the salad annoyed me. First, the guy told her that I didn't want cheese. Got it. She asked if I wanted bread and I said "no, thank you." Then she threw in the cheese. !!! I tried to stop her before she dumped it in, but I was too late. She tried to scoop out as much as she could. Then she asked me if I wanted bread again. Maybe she was just having a bad day or something but going from the assembly guy who was awesome, to this girl who couldn't remember something as simple as "no cheese and no bread" was disappointing. Once I made it through the check out line, the place was pretty busy so I struggled to find a place to sit. Aside from the cluster of chairs right by the line/ordering area, the windows are lined with seats and then there are are a few small tables in the back corner. I sat at the table past those. Basically, in the back alley by the bathroom. It was really awkward. However, the salad was amazing!! Kudos to that! The March Salad was a mix of greens, sweet potato, bacon, caramelized onion, candied pecans, and what was left of the blue cheese the girl couldn't scoop out. Everything blended well perfectly and it was a tasty salad. I'm pretty sure I licked my bowl clean. I want to give this place 4 or 5 stars because I really do love Sweetgreen and their delicious salads, drinks, and froyo. But I wish the layout was a little better and maybe some of the staff should work on their listening skills.

Pretty expensive salads but worth the splurge every once in a while. The District Cobb is by far favorite. You can choose from one of their creations or create your own. All salads come with a slice of warm bread that adds that little extra oomph to the meal. When the weather is nice, they'll open up the window front which is pretty cool.

  • Tiffany N.

Expensive in comparison to Panera Bread, but the salad all basic b*tches want to get when they want to be fit and feel beautiful on the inside (digestive system-wise). I'm absolutely in love with their Parmesan crisp, with a grilled chicken salad. It's really good combining a bunch of things you like to make it seem healthy. I'm not really sure if it is healthy, since I add a lot of the Parmesan crisp and pita chips on there :p But good stuff!

I'm not really into salad. Happened to eat their Santorini when they opened, as they were handing out free salads. Yeah so, I may not be a salad fan, but I'm definitely a Santorini fan. Tried a few other salads here since they've opened and I've always been pleasantly surprised. Prices are a bit high, but likely what you'd expect given the type of restaurant & location.

I LOVE this place! I work nearby and about once a week or so I normally walk over and eat there. They have a lovely selection and everything is fresh. I have never had an issue with my salads or customer service.

I ordered a salad here for the first time on 07/07/14. After placing my order online, 10mins later, I received a call that this place is under renovation and not to pick up my food. I called back 5 days after finding out that I was charged for the salad I did not get. I called the store and I was told that I will have store credit and I can just order whenever I'm ready. After a a couple of days or so, I called back to place an order and get my store credit. I was told that I don't have any credit and was asked to download the sweetgreen app and email customer support so I can get a refund and how the store staff has nothing to do with the refund. I emailed the customer support from the app on 08/05/14 about what happened, have not heard back from anyone at all and they still owe me $9.39. It's been over a month now and I still don't have my money back. Such a waste of time and bad customer service.

My girlfriend loves their salads. I, however, will avoid at all costs. It was a long long time ago and I forgot which salad I had ordered... but I do remember violently vomiting just a couple hours later that evening. Maybe it was the beet juice my mother had made me drink? I'm not quite sure, so for that, I will give them the benefit of the doubt... three stars.

Not bad. A bit expensive. Less food than Chop't but not one around here. Standard new wave salad place.

    (3)
  • Zara M.

Salads are good-especially the guacamole greens. A bit over priced though. If you substitute anything they charge a $1+ more.

  • Radhika K.

One of my fave places to eat. I just love the salads. Every time I get a different one made and each time it's just delicious! The ingredients are always fresh. I go here at least once a week. Yum!!

  • Sim A.

I love Sweetgreen. The Earth Bowl is my favorite - it has warm grains over a bed of cold salad. Great service. Good spot for lunch. The Merrifield location has a cool outdoor/indoor bar setup where you can sit and eat your salad. The only part that got me upset is that they charge $9 for the pressed juice. $9 is ridiculously expensive - Sweetgreen should lower their price on those.

  • Joe S.

I have had unpleasant experiences with the staff here.first i have been completely ignored. It was so obvious as they were looking right at my family. On another visit they wouldn't allow me to order microgreens in my salad although I ordered the same salad three weeks prior at this same location. The woman placing my order lied and stated they haven't had micro greens in 6 months! Even though it is on the list of local produce on their menu. Then she said it was only for the gazpacho. Which is it? I fine with a. Paying more for micro greens as a salad "base" or b. The store just not having it or changing their policy. I just don't like being lied to.

I love going to sweet green its just something about the natural rawness of the ingredients. And the fact that I can support local farms and have a great salad, now that is a winning day. However....my visit this time was not as pleasant. The girl who prepared my salad wasn't very welcoming...she didn't bother to ask me if I wanted bread or a water cup. The other cashier who rung up a friend of mine offered a water cup and ask if she would like bread. It was then that the other girl offered me bread. As she was ringing me up I asked her about the rewards program she didn't seem like she knew very much and didn't seem like she wanted to promote the app. Overall my salad was great but customer service wise it was mediocre. Lucky for me I love sweet green so I'll be coming back for yogurt or salad I just hope that I get a more pleasant person helping me.

Typically I like Sweetgreen! The one in Ballston is good. I admit, I have high standards, but only considering the fact that their salads are 10-12 dollars. If I'm paying that much for a salad, I would like it to be very good. I got the District Cobb. The lady didn't give me the whole avocado half and there was still some peel on it (like the exterior peel). Next she gave me small amounts of both bacon and chicken. I mean, I'm paying 12 bucks for a salad, give me full scoops! Also, when I ate the salad, it had lettuce that was old/brown. Not a lot, but some there. Also, the bacon bits were all stuck together in a ball of grease. Why? The other locations don't do that. Lettuce has to be the cheapest thing to keep fresh. They need to do some QUALITY CONTROL at this location.

I finally had the chance to try this place out the other day for lunch. You can customize your own salads, or you can choose one from the menu. Since I wasn't feeling creative, I opted for the misoba salad, which consists of soba noodles, avocado, corn, carrots, seed mix, miso sesame vinaigrette, and sriracha -- at first, I thought it was kind of odd to have all of those ingredients mixed together, but it actually tasted pretty good! (The sriracha added an extra kick to the salad) You're also offered complimentary buckwheat bread with your salad. They also offer frozen yogurt and drinks here. I really like the "green" philosophy that Sweet Green promotes, from using biodegradable silverware, bags, and dishware to using vegetables from organic and local farmers. It can get pretty pricey just for lunch because their salads can go from $8-12+, (not including drinks!) but at least you know you're eating healthy.

  • Darlene H.

I love that a Sweetgreen opened so close to where I live! I was a little intimidated by the menu at first. (Also, I've always been a little suspicious of healthy food in general, namely that I think it will never taste good, but I'm glad to find out I was wrong!) The staff here is always friendly and really helpful when I ask questions. I've never had a bad meal here and I love that they feature a different salad every month.

One of the employees helping us seemed ready to fall asleep. And I just didn't find the chocolate yogurt to be that great.

3.5 stars I guess when you can make salad and vegetables taste this good, you can afford to charge like crazy. I have to say that compared to chop't, I kinda like the entertainment of watching my salad literally getting chopped into chunks at its competitor. But, I have to say that the two salads that I have tried at sweetgreen were delicious. Pricey oh-so-very pricey, but delicious. We got the January Salad (onions, avocado, carrots, seeds, smoked salmon, lentils, and miso sesame ginger dressing) in a wrap. Everything balanced really wonderfully and it was delicious. We also got the Guacomole Greens which has all the usual guacamole suspects, chicken (if you please), tortilla chips, and a lime vinaigrette. It was delicious though almost slightly too tangy. I got the dressing on the side and saved it for another salad the next day. Love their dressings! The salads are served with a side of bread and I think the salads have more than the wraps, but maybe that's just perception. Anyway, their food is delicious, fresh, and organic but it comes with a heavy price tag. Also, pretty skimpy on some of the more quality toppings like meat! :(

I love Sweetgreens but for some reason this location always gives me under-cooked shrimp. Additionally, their lime and lemon squeezes keep getting smaller and smaller. Go to the one in the Galleria mall, never had any problems there.

  • June S.

Had the portobello mushroom salad. It has a great flavor, but they are very skimpy on the mushroom and veggies, hence a mighty small portion for $9.50+. Could've had two of them!

We -- a party of three -- were all happy with our choices of healthy, hearty salads served with a slice of whole grain baguette. Service was quick, perhaps because they were not very busy on Christmas Eve. Limited seating so we took our lunches "to go."

Sweetgreen has great, high quality ingredients and dressings. I just wish they didn't charge so much for their salads.

  • Kim H.

love love love! It's sooo hard to eat healthy when eating out. This is my go to place when I'm feeling guilty. They offer a good amount of standard salads and you can also make your own. My personal favorite is the MiSoba, I love the sesame ginger vinegarette mixed with soba noodles, corn, avocado, cilantro mm mmmm mmm!!! Sourced by local farmers, the ingredients are fresh and plentiful. This means the prices are a little higher - standard salads are $8.50-$11.50. I subtracted one star for the service. It's hit or miss. Make sure you pay attention to them making your salad, there was one time where the guy missed three ingredients from my salad!! They also serve frozen yogurt. Not many flavors though.

Newly opened in Merrifield, Sweetgreen offers every combination of salad imaginable to man! You can go with their "special of the month," the pre-set menu, or create your own salad or wrap. I personally like to make my own (base, up to 4 toppings, optional meat, choice of dressing, free wheat french bread). My favorite is the arugula with quinoa and roast chicken... so refreshing and healthy! However, $10/salad can be pretty hefty... I guess being healthy always comes at a price. They also offer iced teas and frozen yogurt and the employees definitely know what they're talking about if you have any questions! Tip: If you download the Sweetgreen app and save your CC info, you get $5 off your first order and rewards depending on how often you come!

My two visits to this location have been sub-standard. On March 9th, the frozen yogurt machine broke, and they couldn't serve a second cup to us. Today, I swung by again, figuring that their kinks had been worked out. I ordered the monthly special salad, and asked to swap out the shrimp for chicken. When I got my order, the person taking my order hadn't listened and didn't make the swap. After we were done, we decided to get some frozen yogurt. I placed two orders - one for a small naked cone, and another for a large cup. I stated twice that I just want toasted coconut and agave as my toppings. She starts to make mine, and puts regular coconut on there. Rather than have her throw the whole thing away, I just said that she could scrape off that little bit and just correct it. No big deal? That really confused her, and she insisted on making another one. When she tried to make another, the machine...broke, yet again. After waiting, I insisted that she just leave the cup as is, and just add on to the incorrect cup. She put a third toasted coconut, and then had to ask what agave is. She then put a little bit in there, and called it quits. By that point, I was just glad to get *anything* and cut my losses and paid. Oddly, there was someone sleeping in the corner at a table during our entire visit. They were dressed all in black, but I couldn't make out if they worked there or not. With as many food choices on the same block as them, I hope that the service there will improve because the food itself is great. $22 for two salads and multiple visits with poor service doesn't sit well.

I tried sweet green for the first time this week, and I was thoroughly impressed. All of the ingredients were so fresh and top quality. I 'made my own' with mesclun, avocado, spicy broccoli, carrots and sprouts - all of which were perfect. I added the citrus shrimp, and they were very tasty and large! I could tell the shrimp were fresh and not frozen. The cilantro and jalapeño dressing complemented the salad perfectly. At first, I thought I was crazy for spending $12 on a salad, but it was completely filling and worth it. Will be stopping at sweet green any time I'm in their vicinity.

Sweetgreen at Mosaic District is pretty much a ritual now pre-movie at Angelika Mosaic. Despite the prices, which can add up, we continue to go. The salads are fresh and the soups tend to be mostly tasty (nothing stellar, but tasty). We normally make our own, so things add up quickly, but it's hard not to add more stuff since we like the ingredients. With that said, if you are going to charge me $x for a certain measure of ingredient, then you better give me at least the measure of ingredient and not skimp out, regardless how many items I am piling up on my salad. The mixing bowl is sufficiently large to mix everything, and by the time you dress it, it will all fit in the serving bowl, so stop skimping on my ingredients. I like the fact using there app automatically deducts any points built up, which makes the program very user friendly.

Huge fan. I've been here twice this month. Always thinking about my next salad. The August seasonal and Spicy Sabzi have been spot on. Their tofu is seasoned well and has great texture. As it does get packed, and the line wraps around the store, it is an awkward seating arrangement as others have mentioned. Also, the high stools aren't comfortable. Employees tend to keep the line moving and are generally kind, though. The prices are...not terrible. More than I'd like to pay for lunch, but with several organic items and a fresh, large selection, I'll be back. Recently downloaded their rewards app, hoping to save a few bucks that way.

The quality of the food is good (4-star), but the prices? Wow...don't expect to walk out under $10. For a salad. It's good...but I can make one cheaper at home. And, $2.50 for an Honest Tea. I get them at Whole Foods for 1/2 the price. I really wanted to like it, but can't justify the price.

so happy they opened a sweetgreen in the new mosaic district! this area is in need of more food options which will come as more stuff opens in the coming months. i went on opening day and tried to order for my officemates. bad idea. knowing that it was opening day, i tried to prepare myself by having everyone pick out a salad online (no special orders). some of the salads offered online were no longer available. perhaps in the future they can have an online ordering system like chipotle's. i went back the following day because i needed sweetgreen redemption. it was much better. i prefer the custom salads, in particular the grain bowl with quinoa. it was filling. yes, it is a little pricey for a salad but you are paying for convenience and healthy food which is never cheap. also, they only have healthier drink options and light dressings! don't expect to find a soda or creamy dressing at sweetgreen :)

I'm ONLY giving 4 stay because spending 12 bucks on a salad. Other than that I love this place. I loved all the toppings and various greens to choose from. Also the different dressings was so hard to choose from. I will continue to visit but not as much as my pockets will allow.

My first time at Sweetgreen and I'm pretty darn happy. This time of year I crave lettuce & fresh, raw greens like a ravenous rabbit, so after months of thinking I should try Sweetgreen, I finally did. I had the misoba salad which totally hit the spot as far as my craving for greens. The mesclun was tender, fresh, and plentiful. The raw seeds and rich, ripe avocado made the salad both tasty and satisfying. The sesame ginger vinaigrette reminded me of that from some of my favorite sushi restaurants -- my only complaint is that I should have had them add more. Cooked soba noodles were a little weird on salad, but I hardly noticed them while eating. Maybe they made the salad more of a meal. Side of bread let me sop up a little of the avocado and dressing combo. Yum! I wish it cost less, but can't complain too much as it filled me up, and a tub of organic greens from the grocers isn't cheap either. I'll have to be careful when I try a make-your-own salad as all the yummy stuff could really add up, but I'm willing to risk it. Nice to know they compost their paper & plastics. Service was great -- friendly & helpful. Hope it all stays that good in the future!

I'm not normally one to frequent salad places, but I've been to Sweetgreen a few times. I always make my own wrap because all of the pre-made menu options have something on them that I don't want. The very first time I made my own, I realized it was the best wrap I've ever eaten since I loved everything on it. My main concern is that it costs me nearly $10 every time. Ten dollars for a wrap seems a little excessive. Maybe if it came with a side and a drink for more bang for my buck, but it doesn't. It's not a small wrap, but just seems overpriced to me.

I love the food at this place, but really really wish they'd lower their prices! My favorite salad is the district cobb - I get it without corn or goat cheese and add parmesan cheese. I love the avocado, bacon, TENDER chicken (seriously so moist) and the agave Dijon mustard. The salad with no drink came out to over 12 dollars. I just think that's not reasonable for this type of place. I will rarely go because I don't think its worth $12 but its still yummy once in a while. They could get a lot more business if they dropped their salads to under 10 dollars.

I'm a big fan of these places where you can make your own salad. Merrifield has changed a lot in the last few years, but I can't say that I think the Mosaic center is all that great. Anyways, Sweetgreen is ok. It's really cute inside (and very clean) and they have a bunch of toppings, but compared to others I've tried this one isn't that great. There aren't as many toppings and many things tasted really bland, including some of the dressings. The frozen yogurt tastes funny, we were told by the person working there that it doesn't taste good on its own and that you need to put 'stuff' on it. The space is really small. There aren't too many tables. There are a few seats outside but that's about it. But I wouldn't say that this is the type of place you would grab and go anyway because I don't think you can take your salad into the movie theatre. It's fine, but there are better places for a healthy lunch.

I had the guacamole greens salad with shrimp, and it was decent and would get it again. If I had just ordered the salad, I would have given this place 4 stars. However, I made the mistake of ordering their frozen yogurt. They advertised that there was chocolate, but there was really only plain...fine, no biggie. I ordered the plain with strawberries, coconut and waffle cone crumbles. The cashier, the same cashier that rang me up for my salad, was also responsible for serving the frozen yogurt. With his unwashed, ungloved, "I have just been handling people's nasty money" hand, he proceeded to scoop up the waffle cone crumbles and sprinkled them over my yogurt. If the guy wasn't already a nervous wreck, I would have told him that I will pass on the yogurt, but I politely paid, left and threw out the tainted yogurt back at the office. Totally disgusted!

I was here for lunch today, they just opened last Friday. Had the seasonal salad and butternut squash soup! Very friendly staff and delicious salad. I'm glad they opened a healthy place for lunch near work, I'll be back for sure!

I took a coworker from another office here today b/c I loved it the first time I tried this place. I got the Kale Cesar this time and I'm not regreting it. It was delicious. I loved the variety between the kale and romaine. I also love the little parmesan chips that accompanied the big slices of fresh parmesan cheese. My friend loved the avocado salad. This is a great location and also a great place to get something healthy without breaking the bank. When it warms up, I want to try their organic frozen yogurt.

I've eaten here twice and had good experiences, and the best part is the excellent salad. I like the small menu (makes it easy to choose) and the fact that you can customize or substitute anything as they make it fresh in front of you. The service is always friendly and fast. The salad was so large and delicious that I didn't feel like I was missing out on a "real" meal, as sometimes happens with salads. The seating is a bit uncomfortable, as they only have tables with fixed stools. In an ideal world, they'd replace them with something less austere and softer. I recommend trying their food - it's high quality and delicious.

My bowl had some crud on the outside of it which was not a good start to my meal. Secondly, the seating is very uncomfortable -- if I'm going to pay premium prices for a salad wrap, I at least want to sit comfortably enough to enjoy it. Lastly, and most importantly, the bathroom had no lock on the door and No Paper Towels!!! How are the employees to maintain cleanliness? There is a sign in the "WC" that states that employees must wash hands before returning to their jobs SERVING FOOD... but they probably don't wash up if there are no TOWELS! I'm certainly not going back there!

The people who work in this place aren't so sweet, at least when I went there. I think it's a really bad business model, ... the menu is completely confusing as is the pricing and the staff persons working there don't bother explaining it, or are too confused themselves to explain it. Instead, in response to any questions I asked, all I got was attitude and barked at. Is this normal? So, my guess the staff is underpaid and don't get free food,... because none of them could tell me about the food nor did they even offer a taste. I asked what kind of cheese they had, they didn't really know,... the cheddar looked ok, but I wanted to know if it was a sharp cheddar or mild as it looked a bit crumbly, the guy told me it was "white" cheddar, haha...duh, I could see it was white!! ALso, no kid friendly treats, or ideas. It's nice to have good salad, but the execution of making a good salad at this place and then seeing the price on my way out means way too much of a hassle for me on a hot VA day... . You can get a better salad across the way at the pizza joint for way less hassle, better service, and less money... tip included. Maybe Mosaic should consider lowering its rents so that these restaurants can hire better people and stay in business for awhile.

Make it a 3.5. Paid my first visit to the Sweetgreen in the Mosaic District this weekend before catching a movie at the Angelika. The space is stylishly industrial but very small. The service was pleasant. My salad was comparable to the salads I've had at other Sweetgreen locations. The ultra-fresh greens are the highlight, particularly the arugula! I miss the Biondi salad that was cycled off the menu last year, but I can definitely still make a meal here. I'll be back.

I loved the ease involved in ordering. The quality of the salad components were really fresh and flavorful. We were excited to see a good selection of proteins & cheeses. The staff was fast helpful and courteous. The place was clean and conveniently located and I really enjoyed the pesto dressing. The prices are pretty steep but the portion sizes are extremely ample.

My new favorite lunch time go-to. I just wish it were cheaper-i would be there all the time! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff...I love this place. I often recommend Sweetgreen to coworkers who have been just as happy with their offerings. Parking is bit of a pain (also unfortunately another reason I do not go more often). I have visited a SweetGreen in D.C. and was just as happy with my lunch. They have a great app that helps you track your rewards too.

I love Sweetgreen, and this location is no exception. I've been here several times and the salads have been good every time. My only complaint is that there are always flies buzzing around and landing on the food. It's nice when they open the big windows up front when the weather is nice, but I find the flies to be very off-putting.
