I've been a routine customer of Bean Tree Cafe since they opened. They consistently provide high-quality drinks and food along with friendly, knowledgeable customer service. They have free Wi-Fi and abundant tables with outlets to work. Much of what the source is local, including the coffee, which is from a Lynchburg coffee roaster called Rosetta Coffee. I will be back!

It's a really cool place! I stopped by on a road trip after grabbing lunch and noticed it. The staff was so friendly and talkative, which was nice for a change. The prices for all of their drinks and food is very reasonable (mainly in comparison to Starbucks). I ordered an iced chai tea latte and it was pretty neat to see the barista hand-stirring it while we were chatting. Once it was finished and I tasted it, my taste buds rejoiced! The blend of spices, tea, and milk were absolutely delicious and unique. Then my family and friend also ordered some drinks and they were very pleased. The atmosphere is trendy, chill, and relaxing, as a coffee shop should be. There was a wide selection of drinks, foods, and treats which was impressing. The only negative thing I have to say is that it's not close enough to home! Highly recommend if you are in the area.

I had high hopes for this up and coming cafe, but I was incredibly disappointed. I went with a few friends on a night that it was packed out for a concert. Since there was no seating left in the cafe (which is awesome for the business, good job!), we attempted to sit at the outdoor seating area. Unfortunately, all of the smokers stood directly outside of the exit. Not only am I allergic to smoke, but one of my friends is pregnant. We had to sit outside of the pizza shop down the lane in order to get away from the thick cigarette smoke. Although none of this was overly desirable, it was fine. The most disappointing portion of my visit to The Bean Tree was my drink. I ordered the equivalent of a caramel frappuccino. I was really excited. It looked delicious. Turns out, I should not have been so excited. The topping (whipped cream and caramel drizzle) was wonderful...but that is where the wonder ended. The drink tasted like water and cream. It was disgusting. I could not taste even a hint of coffee or caramel. It was SO disgusting that after about 3 sips I gave up trying to choke it down (even though I forked out nearly $5 for it). I thought that it might appeal to the taste buds of my friends (even though it held no appeal to mine), so I offered it to them...a free, nearly untouched drink. They both excitedly tried it (hoping for a free frappuccino). By their own admissions, neither of them are picky (at all). After one sip each, they both concurred with my original decision, the drink was nasty. In the end, the $5 waste went into the trash. Had the entrance to the cafe not been blocked by thick cigarette smoke I may have gone in to talk with the manager about it, but my sinuses were more important. I will not go there again.

2nd visit here (first time there wasn't a yelp for them). New place. Awesome atmosphere. There coffee beans aren't roasted on site, but still roasted locally. Free WiFi. Reasonable prices. Their drip coffee is very good as well as the hot chai tea latte. Love that they offer almond milk! Got a punch card because I definitely intend to come back. They also have "question of the day" special that can get you extra punches on your loyalty card if you answer it correctly without cheating. What an awesome idea! Got 2 extra today! Score! Only gave four stars because I have yet to try any of their food selections, which range from normal pastries and breakfast sandwiches to salads, special lunch choices, and awesome sweets like s'mores. Also appreciate all their gluten free options! Will re-do review once I try their food.

Cool new coffee shop in the developing Cornerstone community. Small and cozy with excellent decor, I highly recommend you give this spot a chance. It has a couple of outdoor seats, a long bar, and five or six tables. There is well balanced menu of coffee, specialty drinks, and food including many gluten free options. I recommend the chai tea latte with almond milk. One of the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and helpful. I do wish they had more outdoor and indoor seating. A problem with most coffee shops in Lynchburg. Also it lacks that eccentric character that I love in a good coffee shop. Overall very good though!

The service is always good, even in the early mornings. The servers are super sweet. The coffee is awesome and even has little designs AND you can even use a real coffee mug. It doesn't get much homier than that.

BLUF: Sandwich was good but overpriced. Not bad, but only beats White Hart and Muse if you live close by. I went to Bean Tree primarily for a concert (just a couple acoustic artists) on a Tuesday night. It's a fairly small space without a lot of seating, so luckily not many people showed up and I was able to actually get a seat. If I still lived nearby (before it opened, I was a 2-3 minute walk from the location, now it's about a 15 minute drive), I could see myself stopping in fairly often. Now, I'd just go to White Hart or Muse, which in my opinion are both superior in quality and atmosphere. There's nothing wrong with Bean Tree, I just prefer the other two. I ordered a lavender lemonade and a Cornerstone sandwich. The lemonade was good, and at $2.25 the large felt well priced. The sandwich was also pretty good, but it felt a bit small for a $7.75 price tag. I didn't check their tea or coffee selection, so I can't comment on those (furthermore, I'm not a coffee person, so I wouldn't be helpful in that anyways lol). In short, it's not a bad spot to grab a bite and a drink if you're there for a show or other coffee shops are out of the way, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. If Muse and White Hart weren't around, Bean Tree might be able to snag another star from me, but as it stands it's just not worth skipping those.
