My second time here and it was just as good as the first time. This place has a dark wood decor that allows for a relaxed hip setting and is perfect for a date or getting original cocktails or taking 6 guest from out of town. I tried the black pepper honey pizza, meatballs, flank steak and washed it all down with Smokey Rosa's. My guest ALL Raved about their food preparation and taste and service was on point by all who serviced our table.

What a pleasant surprise! Short pump is filled to the brim with chain restaurants. Name it and they've got it. Tazza is apparently a chain, but a local one at that. They locally source as much as possible and list their sources on the menu. We shared the nachos (fresh and crisp), I had the chard Caesar salad, and my partner had the fennel sausage pasta. Everything was delicious and surprisingly good. (We had some mediocre sushi/thai nearby last night). The meaty pasta sauce closely resembled the flavor I experienced from Italian home cooking as an au pair. I stole quite a bit from his plate :) Our service was wonderful. But the ambiance of this place really stole the show. They have put a lot of love (and living greenery!) in to decorating this place. The far back wall must be checked out :) We ate inside but admired the patio. Very cozy looking, with string lights and nice landscaping. Definitely a gem in a landscape filled with strip malls.

I have to admit, a small part of me wanted to boycott Tazza for a period of time. I loved Cafe Caturra, and while they are owned by the same people (and technically there is another CC in the area), I was going to miss having it so close to my house. But eventually I got over myself and it has become a great place to go, be it for a nice dinner or just drinks. If just going for drinks, and looking for some different, try the Blackberry Mojito. Its bright and refreshing. A perfect spring/summer drink. They also like to make drink specials all the time, to ask your waiter. As far as foods, I highly recommend the Fennel Sausage Pasta or any of the pizzas. Overall the size of the dishes are a little small for the price, but are delicious and high quality. The atmosphere is amazing, especially on the patio. You would think something outside right on Pump Road would be less than relaxing, but it really is beautiful, especially once the sun begins to set and the turn the patio lights on. It will truly wow you.

I love the look of Tazza Kitchen more specifically the patio and the bar! The bar has a decent amount of seats, a TV (maybe more than one but I don't recall), and a good view of the kitchen if that's your thing. The staff- timely and very nice- I really really really appreciate this one. FOOD! They have happy hour snacks and drinks that are actually good so that's a bonus. The happy hour menu is kind of small but at least the options they have are good. The guac is definitely a winner with a good strong lime taste. My fav drink isn't on the happy hour menu, but is worth the extra- Blackberry Mojito- downside.. there is tons of ice so the deliciousness is limited. The pizza is good, my favorite is the Spicy Sausage and Black Pepper Honey- very unique taste but it works.

We had dinner with our friends from Baltimore and everyone had the crab cakes. The crab cakes are all lump or back fin with practically no filler! Baltimore friends "The crab cakes were better than any that they have had in Baltimore, not to mention the great price." The combination of the crab cakes with the best top shelf margaritas in Richmond make the perfect evening out!

I came here for work during my conference in Richmond VA. So, we had our dinner meeting here with the coworkers. Surprisingly, this was big inside. From the outside, it looked small. The atmosphere was loud, but it was lively. I don't usually comment on the waitresses, but this place had a lot of pretty ones. Onto the food, we ordered appetizers. Meatballs. They weren't too bad. They were a little watery but overall good. There were quesadillas, and they weren't too bad either. Can't go wrong with them. For the main dish, I had a pizza. They were excellent as well and were great sizes for sharing. The Margarita pizza was amazing. The Sausage and Honey were delicious. The White with bacon awesomeness. On the menu, they don't sound pleasing to the ear, but when you take a taste of them, they were good. Definitely worth them. Rating Food: 4.5 Price: 4 Ambience: 4.5 Service: 5 Overall: 5 Thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. Not sure if I was more pleased with the food or the service. Both made it a good combination.

Worth it for the pizza alone, but then there's the bonus round of great guacamole, and plenty of wine and beer selections to keep you well oiled while enjoying Mexican/Italian fusion goodies. Service was warm and friendly, prices are very fair. Now I know why friends have raved about this place, and why they're expanding into northern VA, as well as south of the James.

The staff is fantastic! Hosted a baby shower on the patio and they helped us with every detail! Great food and wonderful atmosphere. Really nicely run restaurant!

Felt like we were in downtown Manhattan. Perfectly handcrafted cocktails, and bar appetizers that impressed. Meatballs as pillow-soft, flavorful, and bathed in a gravy any Italian grandma would be proud to serve, as good as any in Brooklyn, unexpected in a Virginia, seasonal concept joint. Shrimp and slaw tostadas were fresh and perfectly balanced. If not for the minimal amount ink on the bartenders arms, and their cheerful southern hospitality, I'd forget where I was.

Tazza Kitchen has everything a stellar restaurant should: excellent and unique food offerings, speedy and polite service, an inviting atmosphere, plentiful parking, and great happy hour deals for those who want to swing by after work. I am definitely the kind of guy who likes to plan ahead. However, while I had planned ahead for nearly every aspect of Valentine's Day, I somehow neglected getting a restaurant reservation until the last second. While this meant there was no way I was getting into the reservations-encouraged places like Cheesecake Factory or Maggiano's, and I would be waiting over an hour at places which didn't allow preparing to get there at all, Tazza Kitchen has an interesting "call ahead" policy: no reservations, though if you call about an hour before you're going to get there, they'll put you on their waiting list just as if you had walked in through their door. I called two hours ahead, asked politely to be put on that list, and they did so. Saved the day! (And my reputation with my lady friend!) This place is very conveniently located within Short Pump and isn't hard to find. Plenty of spaces made parking a snap despite how busy the area was, which was definitely a stress reliever. Went in through the interesting front door (HUGE WOODEN DOOR) and was politely greeted by the two hostesses who quickly found my "call ahead" and whisked my date and I to a table. The menus revealed an impressive selection of items: truly authentic pizzas (my lady friend swears they were no different from what she had in Italy, and the piece I tried made me want to steal the rest of her meal), novel combinations (amazing shrimp/polenta mix which I had), and many other options abound (including some tasty appetizers, one of which we indulged in). Speaking of that appetizer, it turns out it was on happy hour, which extends all the way to 6:30 pm and makes early-evening bites easy to come by and the drinks cheap as heck (most drafts are normally $5-$6 and happy hour knocks another dollar off). Devil's Backbone was my choice, though many local options were available as well (i.e. Hardywood). Our server was excellent and made frequent callbacks. I was particularly impressed by how efficient the service was despite the high volume of our visit time. They've got it down to a science here. While this place is on the pricey side, that is literally the only drawback, and even that is mitigated by the happy hour deals if you go early enough. This place is a strong 5.0 stars, to be sure. Come here! Overall: 5.0 stars ---------- Pros: - Excellent food, and very authentic pizza. - Great selection of drinks, made even more affordable during happy hour. - Top-notch service. - Inviting atmosphere. - Ample amounts of parking. - "Call ahead" option benefits those who plan ahead, though not TOO far ahead. Cons: - Food is a bit on the pricey side on non-happy hour items/times, though this is an upscale place, so that's to be expected. Still quite reasonable.

I had the pizza here and it was pretty good. The service was excellent--among some of the best in Short Pump. I was impressed. The food was pretty good, the menu was simple, but maybe a little too simple. I was hoping to see more options for dinner time. I'm not for sure if the menus are different for lunch/brunch. I'd like to see more vegetarian options as well as other options in general.

Good lord this place is good!! I travel to Richmond regularly for work and a coworker introduced me to this place. Initially I was 50 shades of angry that I had been missing out for years, but I was quickly so in love that I didn't care. I can't tell you if this is on a hip location or if it's a pain on the weekends, but I can tell you that the interior is fresh, the service is friendly, and the food is perfection. Oh and there's a fabulous patio and a fireplace inside! What more could you ask for!! I've actually never had an entree here as my group typically orders a few appetizers and pizzas to share. The roasted Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower are always a must (we've even converted a few folks that previously claimed to not like Brussels....clearly they were weirdos....). I also personally enjoy the goat cheese app mainly because I'm a bread whore and the stuff they serve with that dip is heaven. The pizzas are excellent as well and are a great size for sharing. My favorites are the Margarita, the Sausage and Honey, and the White with bacon. I honestly was skeptical about the honey on a pizza but it actually really works, I definitely recommend it! The cocktails are unique and delish and the wine list has plenty of options. Honestly if I had to come up with one downside, it'd be that their desserts are lacking but I'm always too full anyway. If you like great food and haven't tried this place, do yourself a favor and make a reservation now. You can thank me later! Oh and Tazza Kitchen gods - please come to Texas. Specifically Frisco or McKinney. Please???? I promise I'll be a regular! :)

HAPPY HOUR REVIEW They don't have a huge happy hour menu but what they do have is yummy! We ordered the cocktail with a grapefuit in it from the happy hour menu and it was the perfect combo of sweet and salty but a little too filled with ice. We switched to prosecco later. We ordered two appetizers to share, the goat cheese dip and flautas. They were both unique and yummy. Tazza definitely was 3 deep at the bar by the time we were leaving. The manager was definitely doing it all from hosting to bringing out food to checking on the guests. Great service! I wish they had a flatbread on the happy hour menu as that seemed to be what people rave about. Fun after work corporaty crowd but get there early for a seat.

I love the atmosphere of this place. I have been "Wowed" by everything I have tried as well. The spicy sausage and black pepper honey pizza is excellent. So are the drinks. Fun for a date night or a casual night out with friends.

Trendy, warm atmosphere; attentive and friendly service and (most importantly) incredibly fresh, innovative food and craft cocktails. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Two words: Bacon Butter!!!

I work out in Short Pump and Tazza is the ONLY place we go to eat out around here. The pizza is good, thin crust and cooked in a brick oven. Service is acceptable and usually the bar is ok, but careful to be gauged on the drinks. They'll serve too much ice and a light pour! (See photo)

Review update: After having several awesome happy hour experiences, I brought a few friends in for dinner. Not a good idea. While the small dishes continued to deliver at every level (see my previous review) the main entrees were very disappointing. I chose the new pesto pasta dish on the menu and a friend went with the shrimp and polenta. My pasta dish was way too salty and her shrimp dish was much too fishy. She only had a couple bites and had to leave the rest behind. The bottom line, I would come here for happy hour every time but probably never stick around for dinner. Order one of their great cocktails or a beer along with one of the many tasty pizza or taco options. For an unbelievable happy hour and small dish option I have to keep my rating at four stars but having such a poor dinner experience can make you question it.

Hip place, reminds me of the kind of place you see on a match.com commercial. Perfect for happy hour drinks and apps. They do not take reservations and get busy at peak times - 1+ hour wait. The pizzas are very good and reasonably price.

Great atmosphere and even better food!!! We had the black pepper honey chorizo pizza and the brick oven nachos. So many wonderful flavors! The waitress was sweet and helpful.

First visit so this will be brief for now. The decor here is wonderful and cozy. When you are inside you would never think that this was part of a strip mall off Broad Street. The outdoor patio is awesome for afternoon/evening dining! They have a small but nice selection of local beers available on top or bottled. The wine list is not too overwhelming either. :) My friend and I settled on two pizzas. I have the spicy sausage and black pepper honey pizza and she got the Margarita pizza. They have a brick over here which they also cook a few other dishes in like their crab cakes. Really great for bringing flavor to the pizza. The crust was a little soft in the middle, the slices drooped on me, but the flavors were awesome. Sweet and spicy balanced each other well on my pizza. Other plates that passed by look yummy as well. I want to go back soon to try the oven baked broccoli, crab cakes and scallops.

I was a little disappointed with this place. My husband and I decided to give it a try because we wanted a nice outdoor dinner and the other reviews were good. Our boys were out for the night so it was just the two of us and our 18 month old daughter. We were squished at a table that was made of two round tables that would normally seat two. I under stand two plus two equals four but not in this case. Then we got the menu. Small amount of choices with high prices. Couldn't find many of the items other reviewers had raved so much about. I ended up ordering a mojito and a pizza. The drink was great and worth the $8 price but the pizza looked like something that came frozen in a box. Defiantly not worth it's $10 price tag. It arrived at the table burnt with no toppings. On the bright side my daughter loved the watermelon topped with cheese that came with my husbands meal. He got tacos and left still hungry as they were quite small. My daughter also ate some of my pizza because there was no kids items on the menu. All in all it wasn't horrible but it was over priced, lacked quality and I don't see our family visiting again.

I probably never would've even noticed Tazza Kitchen or put it on my list of places to go, because I am a strip mall restaurant snob. But an acquaintance has been raving about it for months, so I finally made my way there. I went with a friend, who is NOT a strip mall restaurant snob, but even she commented on the weirdness of it being in a strip mall. Anyhow, the interior décor is nice. Not at all strip mall-ish. It's got a nice fireplace inside and wood and stone accents that make it feel very cozy. My friend arrived before me and apparently told the hosts she was expecting me. Maybe even gave them a description of what I looked like. I walked in and was asked something... I don't remember what, because everything that happened in the next few minutes was a blur. Mouth open to answer the question, but before I could, the host a little too excitedly said he knew who I was and would take me right to my friend. Now, that might sound like excellent service, but it was actually kind of creepy and took me aback. And why even ask me anything if you know who I am? Let me answer your question, or don't ask me at all. We arrive at the table, and the seat I'm supposed to sit in is crowded by a child at another seat crawling around all over the place. No, I'd rather not leave Tazza with food in my hair, or having to argue with some kid's parent for not managing their child, so I asked to be seated somewhere else. No problem. By reflex, I picked up the menu to take it with me to the new table, but the host exclaimed (just like he did at the door weird and creepy-like) not to take it. They'd handle moving everything over. Alrighty then. So anyway, we were seated and seconds after sitting, greeted by our waiter who was ready to take our order. Are you kidding? I literally just sat down. I haven't even looked at the menu! So, I had some pleasantries with my friend and seriously, the waiter came back again before we've even had a chance to look at the menu. We took advantage of his being there anyway and asked a few questions about the menu, and told him we needed another minute. His next visit back to the table was perfectly timed. After that, we barely saw him again and waited, and waited, and waited for the tab even after we'd asked for it and he'd walked by several times taking care of another table. As for the menu/food, there really weren't many choices on the Sunday lunch menu unless you want sandwiches or pizza. Also, I cannot stand tappas-like menus or menus where everything is a la carte. Nothing in the brunch section seemed like it was substantial enough. So we ended up both ordering the quiche (which we didn't know came with potatoes and a salad), and we supplemented with a three-sides option (each of us getting a pancake and sharing a side of bacon). The temperature of the food was barely warm. Not at all appetizing. The bacon was two strips and way too done. My friend thought way too salty. The quiche was okay (good crust). The salad was bitter. I think it was just arugula... should've been a mix. The potatoes were not good. They put syrup on the pancake for us. What if I didn't want any? What if want butter, too? At best, the food was okay. Needless to say, although the charred beef and scallops in the professional photos look delicious, I won't be back. Way better restaurants in Richmond to give my money to.

I am very glad we decided to go here and I wish I would have come sooner! The restaurant team is wonderful - lots of genuine warmth and customer service that is often missing from the dining experience. This place had a really nice vibe and I love the high chairs. We had two of the pizzas as our entrees as well as the chips and guacamole with pico de gallo and cocktails. The presentation of the blackberry mojito was very nice and my date said it was delicious. We had the spicy sausage, pepper and honey pizza as well as the white pizza that had bacon and caramelized onions. Everything was delicious- you can taste the quality and freshness in everything. I highly recommend this place - it is perfect for date night or anytime. There is also a nice sized patio with outdoor seating. There are other things on the menu I want to try so I will definitely be back soon.

Definitely recommend! Had a group of 8 people and they accommodated us well. Our waitress was spot on. Decent drink selection. I had the Steak & Peppercorn Potatoes. The Steak was a bit over cooked for my liking but still very good.

Found this Restaurant on Yelp while in the area and popped in for lunch (brunch) with my mother and 3 year old. Loved the decor and atmosphere for the location in Short Pump. I had the kale chili salad which was very tasty - zesty and spicy and a great cup of coffee (not the best combo in the world, however). While they do have a kids menu, I don't feel like it was a great bring-your-kid experience. Our food arrived way before my daughter's cheese pizza, which never goes over well. When it did arrive, it was straight out of the brick oven. I felt like I would have been much more comfortable with a cocktail and some girlfriends.

This is going to sound terrible, but I was surprised (in a very good way.) I got the kale/chile salad with chicken and nipped at my brother's brussels sprouts starter and it was delicious, filling, and the atmosphere in there was very pleasant. The service was very kind and cheerful and helpful and fast and efficient, and they support a lot of local farms and whatnot, which is always a plus. I will definitely come back for a salad again. (They got the pizzas, which looked great, but that's always a little too much cheese for me.)

How did I not go into this place sooner? I was starving and we were driving around Short Pump hunting down some grub. We sat at the bar, and I started with The Derby and the Hubs got an Old Fashioned. Both drinks were superb, but The Derby, with its mix of grapefruit, lemon, bourbon and honey, may be my favorite cocktail in the city. We ordered the roasted broccoli app which was delish. For dinner, hubs got the shrimp and crispy polenta and got the brick oven pork chop. Hubs enjoyed the shrimp, but the star of this dinner was the pork chop. The chop came with caramelized peaches, dandelion greens, and farro with sausage. I was told it was huge and I would have some left over for lunch the next day. umm I may be small and stature, but I ate (and enjoyed) every last incredible bite. The ambiance is really cool and I want to figure out how to get one of those brink ovens in my imaginary dream house. I already know that next time we hit up this place, I'm trying the spicy sausage and black pepper honey pizza.

Love this place! The guacamole appitizer is the best. The best entrees (IMHO) are Shrimp & Polenta or the Chicken Tacos. everything is great. Get there before 6 pm on a Friday or Saturday night, or tables may be scare. This is one of the primo restaurants in Short Pump.

Went for a brunch on a Saturday, and we enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. I had the breakfast pizza, and my wife the burrito. We both really like what we had. I've always like wood fired pizzzas, and theirs are very good. The restaurant itself is kind of a cool place, with a wood burning fireplace and indoor/outdoor seating. I look forward to going back sometime when the weather is warmer and we can eat outside. By the way, they also had several Devils Backbone and Hardywood beers on draft....always a plus.

AMAZING PLACE! I came into Richmond for a wedding one weekend, was literally there for 2 days and besides eating at the wedding, we ate here!! Pros: the food is absolutely delicious! The fresh, local ingredients in every dish really caught my eye and taste buds! I had brunch and dinner twice there. The pizza is so yummy! The cocktails are even better! Moonshine all the way! Cons: none! Tips: warmer months you can sit in their awesome outdoor space!

Went on Friday with my two girlfriends for my birthday. Greeted at the door with a smile by two lovely hostess. I'd called ahead top get our name on the list so our wait was short.got drink service quickly. The service was perfect all night by every staff member. Ordered the pork cheek Bolognese pasta , the white pizza and the shrimp and polenta. Pizza was pretty good. White sauce and bacon with the caramelized onions was very tasty. Perfectly seasoned. Crust could be better. Pasta had great potential but sauce was incredibly salty. Sauce for polenta was salty too. Polenta was creamy on the inside and nicely crisp on the outside. The the shrimp were cooked to perfection. Portions are on the small side. Overall/ food was uneven. We expected more from one is the top ranked restaurants in RVA. Would try again though since this was our first meal here.

Kale, why'd it have to be kale? Other than a fixation with that reprehensible vegetable, I've never had anything bad at Tazza. In fact, I've had some shockingly tasty things! Some delicious mushrooms! Some very good steaks! Some delicate desserts! But Tazza's literally never failed to deliver. In a town full of bright mavericks, clever failures, 80/20 preachers, and the irregularly brilliant, Tazza's precise. It might not hit the same loud and crazy high notes as the rest of our wonderful food scene, but it sings out its suppers every night.

Tazza is a fun place with a great outdoor dining space. The food is good but a little unique. It is not a place for picky eaters. They have great happy hour snacks and the pizza is yummy. Come early on nice evenings or you will find yourself waiting a while for a table!

We arrived as a group of 3 around 7:30 on a Saturday evening and had a 30 minute wait. We tried to get drinks from the bar, but couldn't get anyone's attention. Luckily, one of the outdoor bartenders noticed us and helped us get drinks. They had a small, good craft beer list of local brews (about 7 options). They also had a cocktails list and a wine list.. For how reasonably priced the beer was, the wine was a little more than I would have expected. We got the Brussels sprouts appetizer with mustard seeds which was very delicious and had a fun, interesting flavor. For dinner we had the sausage pizza that had a sweet drizzle on it. It was very delicious but the sausage was surprisingly spicy. We also got the pepperoni pizza that had spicy peppers and onions on it - really good, but again, much spicier than I was expecting. The food was great, the ambiance was fun and rustic, and the staff was friendly. I will definitely go back to try more of their menu.

What a breath of fresh air for the short pump area! I've been here a few times and every time it's been wonderful. The wait staff is extremely friendly and make good recommendations. The cocktails are so yummy. They use fresh squeezed juice . The outdoor area is really nice to sit at enjoy a drink on a nice day. The manager also came over and introduced himself. Very nice guy! The veggie pizza is really good and I'm not a vegetarian. The goat cheese appetizer is delicious. This would be a great place to go with a group of girlfriends for a fun dinner out. We will definitely be back here soon.

The atmosphere was pretty but a little noisy where we sat in the front. The menu was just big enough and there were a lot of good options. My husband got a beer and I got the Victory (very citrusy but tasty and strong). We had the guacamole appetizer very yummy. Both if us had something from the brick oven- crab cakes and prosciutto and arugula pizza. The crab cakes had a little too much char on the bottom, but was tasty, little smaller than we would have liked, glad we got an app. But the pizza was very tasty and had plenty of the toppings. Over all we spent $67 with tip not too bad.

Our server Hayley - was wonderful! Very knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. She gets 5 stars!! The grilled veggies (broccoli and cauliflower) were a delight. $6 We followed that with a thin crust, pizza with ingredients that tasted as if they were just picked! YUM. $14 The atmosphere is laid back, fun, with a cool neighborhood vibe!

Just a tad pricey, but food was delicious. My boyfriend and I had brunch on a Sunday - he had the Frittata and added a side of bacon. I had the breakfast pizza which had bacon & over easy eggs on it. Amazing! Love that it's cooked it a brick oven. The place is really cool too. Definitely try this place out if you want something different.

I never have a bad experience here. The service is always great, the ambiance is terrific (you'd never know you were in a strip mall in Short Pump.) They change their menu periodically (moment of silence for the Roasted Cauliflower with Mint and Pecorino- no longer on said menu), and always have great happy hour specials. Pizzas are worth the trip, and for a cold evening, get there early to get a seat by the fire. Love it!

Good place for happy hour, they offer a small menu of happy hour specials and fairly good price for drinks. The enclosed outdoor bar area was heated to borderline hot, services super! Only complaint my group had was that they don't have wings on the menu. We tried 5 different kinds of pizzas and all were quite good, and the chicken tacos were tasty. Can't wait to go back and try other food on the menu.

This was my first visit here and it was for brunch. Everything was phenomenal. I had the Huevo Rancheros and my friend had the Burrito. We also had the carafe of mimosa. The service was great, the food was delicious, the mimosa was not watered down and the manager and staff were friendly. The decor is lovely and everything about the visit was great. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends.

Unique and delicious food. Great atmosphere. Fast seeting on Saturday night for 2. Great place for date. My wife and I were surprised at how conservative the bill was even with adult beverages. Met one of the owners and had a great conversation. Would not recommend with young kids on weekend nights. More sheik, sophisticated wine crowd. Will be back soon. I drive from chesterfield just to eat here

Great night, great service and great food. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table, but had 3 servers ask us if we needed a drink while we waited. Once seated our waiter was awesome too. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu.

Outstanding service and awesome wood fired pizza! Arrived in time for happy hour and their Monday wine tasting which was really fun! The manager(?) was a super friendly guy that checked personally on our table several times and made us feel welcome. Will definitely return soon!

Came to Tazza after work for drinks. Really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere was cooler than my old self, but it made me happy. Great seats for people watching and hanging out with friends. Since it was on a Corporate Card, I sampled my way thru as much as possible. NOTHING was less than fantastic. I started with the mojito special. It tasted great, but there was so much ice in it I thought I was having a Mojito snow cone. I wouldn't have one again, but it tasted devine. The Crab Tostado was over the top incredible. It was on a crispy bread thing with an avacado slice. I could have eaten it all day. The hummus was good (how can you mess that up) with a nice crusty bread. I was less impressed with the Porchetta pizza. It just didn't hit the mark for me. On the otherhand, I would eat the sausage pizza ANY time. There was this lasagna type dip that a lot of folks enjoyed, but I was either too stuffed, gorged or didn't hit my desires. Overall a great place and I seriously need to come again.

Pizza is Amazing! food is pricey and appetizers are extremely small so you have to order a couple but definitely worth going to get pizza

First experience at this restaurant. Our food was excellent and served well. I like the chilled water bottles on your table. The inside was noisy and I should have taken a table outside. My only complaint was when ready to pay and leave, the server was no where to be found. We waited 10+ minutes to get our check. But sill - the taste and quality of the food was outstanding and we will return

This place is POPPING. People standing and chilling outside and through-out the inside of this brand new restaurant in the Martins Shopping Center in Short Pump. Wait time for two on a Friday night around 7.30PM, 45 mins to one hour. We put our name down and they text us about 15 mins later saying our table was ready. We get back to the restaurant about 4 mins after the text and our table is still available. Service: rude..? There was a little bit of an attitude from our waitress, who didn't even introduce herself and just started pouring us water. I asked for a limeade, and her tone was that of "you should know we dont have that here" but there is only ONE limeade drink on the menu. I then ordered the Risotto and she gave me another subtle attitude/tone like they didn't have it on their menu but again they have a scallops and risotto entree here. I'm not sure if she just didn't really know the menu or was just annoyed by something else but it's not what you say, it's how you say things to piss customers off. Ambiance: noise level is very very loud. It's just very crowded and people talking in all directions. It's very lively at this restaurant and kinda stands out from the norm of restaurants in Short Pump. My entree was not fulfilling at all. For 14 bucks I got four nicely sized scallops with a nice sear on top but the flavor was just kinda meh. The risotto was a little chunkier than I would have liked but it tasted nice but there was very little of it.. Limeade was FOUR dollars and it just tasted more minty than a limeade. This is a Mexican/Mediterranean inspired restaurant. I wanna come back and try some of their other dishes but hopefully that one waitress loses the tone and attitude.

Found this gem on yelp. Very happy and pleasantly surprised by the great food and even better service. It was happy hour and they had great options and prices. Awesome beer list for tap and cans. Enjoyed the cast iron goat cheese & nachos for the starters and the margarita pizza. The staff was kind and attentive. If you are in the area definitely stop by! The atmosphere is modern and inviting. We will definitely be back!!

I came here a few weekends after the opener and the place is gorgeous. We had pizza, salad, and some meatballs. I have to say, the food was good and the service was attentive. Expect an upscale establishment and 30s+ crowd. I will visit again and see how it holds up.

A friend from work recommended and I was not disappointed. We sat at the bar and enjoyed some great food. The wood burning oven made the spicy sausage and honey pizza taste amazing. Good wine selection and pricing. I will be back my nest business trip.

Came to Tazza Kitchen for brunch with my girl at the recommendation of a friend that is an excellent gourmand and cook. What a great place in every aspect. Beautiful and artfully done decor, bar, and overall space. We had the "breakfast pizza," and the "sausage and honey" pizza. Food and service were excellent and I love that they have Hardywood Singel on tap as well as Bold Rock Ale products. Great place.

Excellent atmosphere and restaurant. This place for one heck of a date night spot. It was a cool summer night so we took advantage of the outdoor dining which couldn't have been any more perfect for our date night. I ordered a pasta/sausage dish which was excellent and she ordered the chicken. The manager made an effort to drop by our table and personally engage us rather than your typical "How was everything?" and then move on like most do. We mentioned we found out about Tazza through yelp and he brought around a dessert for us to try. No complaints from us. Hell, if we weren't caught in the dinner rush we probably would have continued to drink and stay longer all while taking in the ambiance and enjoying a good conversation.

Seven of us attended for a girls' night out and birthday get together. I generally despise most things Short Pump, but Tazza Kitchen is a notable exception. Let's start with service: The service was absolutely phenomenal. We did call ahead seating, and our table was ready the minute we arrived. The server herself was fantastic, and the manager on duty made his presence known without being cloying or clingy. It was perfect--our water glasses were filled constantly, dishes were appropriately recommended, and choices were supported (as in, "The El Duderino from COTU Brewing is a great choice!") The server knew how to read the table--making inquiries when appropriate, but also leaving the table alone and not interrupting when no service was required. She was perfect. Next, food. Really, really good. It's fairly inexpensive, and was cooked perfectly. We tried three different appetizers, the goat cheese, Brussels sprouts, and guacamole. The guacamole was fresh and lime-infused, the goat cheese dip really tasty, and the brussel sprouts were OHMYGOD delicious. And I hate brussel sprouts. These were sweet and bacon-y and somehow the chopped egg just added to it. I could've eaten just these and been happy with my meal. But of course, we had to order an entrée, too. I had the scallops and risotto; they were both cooked very well and had great seasoning. I tasted some of the other dishes at the table, and was very impressed with the pork tacos and the sausage and black pepper honey pizza. In fact, the pizza was such a delicious and odd melding of flavors that I will order it next time. All of the entrée choices sounded so good that it was hard to choose. Dessert--there were only two on the menu, and at first, I felt as if that wasn't enough choice. I was wrong. Both were unbelievably delicious! The chocolate dish was rich, and reminded me of the inside of truffles. The salted caramel on top just made the whole thing delicious. But the gelato and cake??? It was the hit of the evening. The ingredients sounded weird, but it tasted like butter pecan and cake and more butter and cinnamon and total deliciousness. I can't even explain. Now, drinks. The beer and wine menu is not HUGE, but it doesn't need to be. Good choices of some of our local craft beers (see COTU mention above) and a couple of ones not so local. Nice cocktails, too. Next, price. I couldn't believe how inexpensive this place was for the quality of the food we had. Really good pricing. Finally, décor. It is a beautiful restaurant. It's apparent that the owners took a lot of time to make it feel inviting, and it does. Bottom line: in a town that has been cultivating great restaurants, it's fantastic to have found a great restaurant without having to go downtown. Don't get me wrong, I love being in the city, but this restaurant in Short Pump rivals all of them--and there is plenty of parking, unlike what one deals with downtown. Go to Tazza Kitchen. You won't be disappointed.

More to come...loved the attentive staff and fresh food....would have liked a bit more choice on the menu and a restaurant that didn't remind me of the floor of the commodities exchange in its crowdedness...good wine and beer selection and a staff that knows their stuff. Definitely will return...

Just checked this place out last week and it is a great find! Wife and I had a date night during the week and found it to crowded but enjoyable. Plank steak was amazing and their pizza is very tasty. Will definitely be back to enjoy patio this summer. Nice spot you would miss without knowing about it.

My girlfriend and I went to Tazza to see one of her friends whom works there. We were promptly seated after walking right in, at one of their busiest times. Our server was Wayne and he was an amazing server. He had great suggestions from the menus wine list and entree menu. We ordered the pizza and chicken tacos. The food came out at an expected rate but the drinks we ordered could have been faster. The 5 spice chicken tacos tasted of only one spicy and I would not order them again but the pizza was amazing and so was the desert. We order a flourless almond orange cake with salted caramel ice cream that was beyond our expectations. Overall the visit was amazing and would defiantly return. Great atmosphere and great service.

Even though the restaurant is located off from a strip mall, I felt that the inside was very well decorated and had a great ambiance to it! The food was good - I had the Pan Roasted Atlantic Cod which was a well sized portion. The staff that worked there were all very friendly!

Went tonight for dinner and was hoping to catch their happy hour. It ends at 6:30 just an fyi. But even though we missed happy hour our dinner was great! We were greeted by about 5 people throughout the resturaunt which was very welcoming. Everyone was extemely friendly, which is a breath of fresh air for the shortpump area. We got the goatcheese and tomato appetizer and to me it honestly wasnt anything special, but my mom loved it. Then we both had the crab cakes and they were hands down the best in the area! There was little to no breading and had yummy big lumps of crab in them which were delicious. The only draw back was the tables were very close so we heard our neighbors whole conversation and it was a little unpleasant. But all in all I cant wait to go back!

I was really excited to try this new restaurant because I've heard excellent things from others. My boyfriend and I checked out the menu beforehand; we're both pescatarians, so it's important that restaurants offer something we can eat. The menu is very unique--and even though we knew it might be a little crowded (it was Mother's Day), we headed inside. They sat the two of us outside on the patio--it was a really nice day, and they have umbrellas for shade. Both of us ordered a bloody mary... They make theirs with a homemade mixture that I really enjoyed. My boyfriend was not a fan of the "floaties" in his drink, and we both swore we didn't taste any vodka. When we were finally asked if we were ready to order (we had been there about 30 minutes), I ordered the Huevos Rancheros and my boyfriend ordered the Breakfast Pizza. Then, we waited. And, waited. And waited some more. Food runners were consistently bringing food out of the kitchen...but it took about 40 minutes for my boyfriend's pizza to arrive. My food didn't arrive until 30 minutes later. While I don't necessarily mind food coming out at separate times (within 3-5 minutes), it's difficult to make someone wait for you to eat when you're not sure if your food is ever going to arrive. My boyfriend was done with half of his pizza and full before mine got to the table. Again--I feel it is important to mention that this was Mother's Day and the restaurant was crowded; however, there were plenty of people working to accommodate for the large crowd. Not to mention, no one ever checked in to make sure everything came out correctly, to see if we needed more to drink, or to apologize for the extraordinarily slow service...and I saw the manager several times. Overall, the food here is delicious--both the pizza, and especially my Huevos Rancheros, were scrumptious! But, the speed of service definitely could use some assistance. We'll be back. At least once.

The statement of "meh" best captures my experience here. Design and decor wise, this place was very nice. You can tell the new owners put a lot of money and thought into the remodel (used to be Cafe Caturra) but it's nothing unique. They went for the standard American gastropub feel... gratuitous usage of wood, concrete, etc. That being said, it's still very nice (loved the indoor fireplace) and I'm sure the patio is awesome in the summer. Service was solid as well. Food was just ok. I don't consider myself a "foodie" or any other hip connotation of word, but all the dishes we tried were just ok. Not bad, not good. Just whatever. At a place like this, you expect the food to be amazing. Prices were standard for a restaurant of this type, but again, I wasn't thrilled with paying as much as I did for just mediocre food, especially the deviled eggs... Seriously, you have to TRY to mess up deviled eggs. Cocktails were decent as well. I only had one but the rest of the menu sounded like they could have been tasty. Would be willing to try another cocktail at this place in the future. Final verdict: go somewhere else. Richmond has a healthy variety of other dining options, many of which offer similarly priced items that were made with a lot more care and creativity.

Finally a great unique Richmond restaurant! Ignore the negative reviews you read...Richmond is used to Applebee's and maybe isn't used to a place like this. It's definitely a scene with some great dishes on the menu. I loved my dinner date here. The patio is a beautiful atmosphere lit with park lights and cozi-fied with a fire place. The service was great! My husband and I were catching a movie in 30 minutes so we let our server know we had to be quick. Our food was out in minutes! She was so attentive. Excellent food! Crostini for an ap, sausage and goat cheese pizza, and fish tacos. The pizza was off the hook!!! It had some really unique flavors that made it a total winner. Fish taco's were also really flavorful, something I'd order again after I try everything else on the menu. It even came with baked beans in their own little cast iron pot. Yum yum!

We've been here 4 x and each time the service is consistently great !The menu offers a wide variety with prices to please. The pizza's are delicious and made in a wood burning oven . All of the appetizers are so creative and tasty and the entrees offer something for everyone. The Brussels sprouts app with bacon is a must ! The drinks menu is such fun and the place is beautiful. Great energy and terrific atmosphere. Haven't tried brunch yet but that's next!

Went on a Saturday night at 6:00p which turned out to be the perfect time. We were greeted very graciously at the door, shown to a seat, didn't care for it and asked to be seated elsewhere which was not a problem. Waitress (Marissa) was promptly at our table; however (and this is a bit of a complaint but the girl was just doing her job!) she came over to us several times before we even had a chance to check the drinks menu, then for apps, then for dinner. We were looking for a more relaxed pace and she finally caught on. Marissa was an absolute delight, she rattled off the beer list for my date as if she had been there for years complete with comments on the beer, very thorough in her service. The guac was great as were our entrees (Margarhita pizza and pasta w/spicy sausage. My date tried several different alcoholic beverages and was pleased. I found a French rose on the menu and was impressed that they even had a rose on the menu - love it during the summer - and it was nice and dry, delicious! Overall a great evening, great food and wonderful service from everyone! Will most definitely be back!

I am to old for this. I did not enjoy my experience here. Service was bad and I felt I was at a French Restaurant, "Little Portions = High Price". Not worth what we paid. I was with a group of 6 and it took forever to be seated. It definately caters to the younger bar Socialites. The Bartender was going to make a Black Russian with Coke and when I asked the Waitress for it she said, "What's That?" The food wasn't worth taking a picture.

Visited Tazza Kitchen last night to celebrate my husband birthday as a group of 6. Arrived at 6:45 and asked for outdoor seating. Was told 30 minutes, and got seated after 45, but it was a pretty busy evening, and we were all chatting. I received a text to my phone when they were ready for us which was pretty neat. Our waitress was fairly unsure of what she was doing throughout our meal, but it was somewhat forgivable (at least at first) as they just opened a few weeks ago. After giving us water, she took our appetizer order while we looked over the drink menus (she never asked if we were ready to order drinks, but we WERE still looking). After our appetizers arrived (3 to share), and she STILL hadn't taken our drink order, one of us got up to flag her down so we could get something other than water. We also ordered our entrees. It was a VERY long wait till our entrees came out. Which wouldn't have been a big deal if we'd had something to drink, but the length of time with which it took to get a glass of wine (she actually forgot about one guy's wine order, and he had to remind her 20 minutes later) no one was really ordering anything. The pizzas came out first. My husband had ordered the sausage pizza for his entrée, and we'd also ordered a white pizza to share at the table. Five minutes went by, so he decided to start eating, and the rest of us started on the other pizza because we were starving and our entrees were not coming out. We actually polished off both pizzas before the rest of our entrees came out (at LEAST 10-15 min after the pizzas) and there was no apology or explanation as to the delay. The food was just meh. I ordered the scallops, and for $14, I expected more than three medium sized scallops (they couldn't have been more than 1.5" in diameter). One was cooked as it should be, but the other two were tough and rubbery. A friend ordered the fish tacos, and for $11, they were probably the best bet. Good amount of tasty food. All of the plates seemed small, which I don't mind, as I don't like getting stuffed when going out. But I don't like paying that much for that little unless the food is spectacular, and it was def subpar for what else you can find around Richmond. After we finished we waited, and waited, and waited for the check. We had told our waitress at the beginning that'd we'd just like to split the check into thirds. We finally got up and went inside (It was 9:15 at this point) to pay our check and leave. Someone asked us how our meal was, and we hesitated and said that'd we'd been waiting all night, on everything. Apparently our check had been split in ninths, so they had to reconstruct it and split in thirds. *sigh* BUT, they did tell us they took too bottles of wine off to compensate for our waiting. That's great, but we didn't order any bottles of wine... Double checking the check revealed they'd taken two GLASSES off... The two glasses we'd waited 20 minutes for anyways. Overall it was a terrible experience, and no one seemed terribly troubled to apologize or explain anything till right at the end when they kept saying sorry, we'll take a few bottles of wine off (that we never ordered). There are some things that are excusable being a new place, but there were just too many things to make us want to come back.

I have been here three times really wanting it to be good. Love the atmosphere, the staff and even the presentation, but the food is so unbelievably bland . My mouth was watering looking at the meatballs but when I tasted them I was completely underwhelmed. Some of the pizza was good but again not where it needs to be. I hope they can figure it out because it's a really nice place with an awesome staff but for me, unless I just want to go for a drink, that's not going to cut it.

Living in the West End of Richmond, this has become one of our three go-to places for great food at a good price. We absolutely love their brick oven pizzas, tacos, sausage fennel pasta, and cocktails. My husband absolutely loves their old-fashioned cocktail. They use fresh ingredients so everything is made to order. Their pasta is also made in house which makes a huge difference. They have a very friendly staff and gladly allow substitutions/special requests. Tazza has a nice bar and outdoor space. We have not been here for brunch yet but we hope to soon.

With all of the other choices in the area, I wouldn't waste my time or money here. $18 for 3 scallops, a house salad that is nothing more than lettuce out of a grocery store spring mix package, and pizza that was burned around the edges but raw in the middle. Really not worth the price and the noise. This was our second, but last, time.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this dining experience. Every point of service contact was pleasant and on point. The menu was simple in appearance, but it belied the subtle complexities of magical flavor pairings. The items we had were well balanced with rich flavors and a zen like matching if sweet with savory. The spicy sausage pizza with black pepper and honey was both simple and elegant. That drizzle of honey so tempered the palate against the pepper, sausage and fine cheese. The deserts were nothing I would have ordered on appearance, however, I am blown away by them. The Chocolate Budino with salt and swirled olive oil was crazy delicious as was the salted caramel gelato with orange flour less cake and basil. We will go back again!

The hors d'hoeuvres (Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, guacamole) were so delicious I can't believe I ate 1/2 my salad (chard & shrimp salad and kale salad were delicious!) and dessert (almond cake & stead caramel ice cream). With wine for everyone, dinner was only $35 a person! Will be a regular stop. Only issue is the wait. But worth it

Visited Tazza on a cool fall evening & had a wonderful dining experience. Our server, Wade, was delightful - he helped us choose a wonderful goat cheese skillet appetizer with olive oil drizzled bread that was delicious. Also had a margarita pizza which was only $5 on the happy hour menu & was cooked in a wood-fired oven. Dining room was very noisy, but otherwise pleasant.

Considering this place gave me food poisoning my first time going there, I would not recommend going! I had to be admitted to the the hospital it was so bad. All I had was an arugula salad with chicken. The manager was rude when I called back to inform them the next day. I would try some place else!

Came here after sampling their fair at a catered event. Used call-ahead seating so four of us only had to wait 10 minutes on a packed night. The wine selection was nice, the "signature" mixed drinks were creative, and the bar tenders made the drinks accurately. The wait staff was attentive without being disruptive and never broke into the conversation. For appetizers, we had the brussels sprouts and pork tostadas, and I'm torn which was my favorite. The tostada was so good, my wife was excited to try the chicken tacos. Unfortunately, they were so busy a few of their menu items were out of stock, including the tacos. The pork tacos were still VERY good (the beans weren't special, however), but since we already had the tostadas, they weren't "special" anymore. For entrées, the table ordered the crispy potato and arugula salad (greatest salad I've ever had. Seriously.), crab cakes (all lump, no junk, , with a delicious slaw), pancetta and arugula pizza (good, but I've had better when a vinaigrette is included on top), spicy sausage and black pepper honey pizza (simple, but FANTASTIC), and pork tacos (very good, mediocre beans) with a side of guacamole (very good). The crab cakes and the sausage pizza were the shining stars (again... the pork tacos would probably had been up there if we didn't already have the tostadas). For dessert we shared the chocolate budino. This was the richest chocolate pudding one can have before becoming "too rich." It was a very good balance of texture (smooth with crunch) and flavor (salty, sweet, savory). There was enough oil for the flavors to stick around in your mouth without being "oily." We were disappointed the gelato was sold out, but we quickly drowned our sorrows in chocolate bliss. Ever since meeting the chef/owner at the catered event, I had been watching the progress of Tazza, and hadn't been able to make it out until now. I was afraid I had built it up too much in my head, but they did not fail to disappoint. Food: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Decor: 9/10 Noise level: moderate, but not loud Crowd: 30's+ relaxed

Amazing food. Love the atmosphere. We spend at least $70 there just because we get multiple plates to share plus beverages! My husband and I have found our new date place. Staff is very friendly and they all seem to chip in and help each other out. You are well taken care of here!

Had heard good thing so tried it. Maybe not the best night, as it was Valentine's Day and it was mobbed. We were seated next to the kitchen and not far from the bar,, so the noise level could not have been louder. Seemed to cater to a 20s and 30s crowd, so us "senior citizens" were a bit out of place. Service was good. Menu is rather limited, with clever receipes. I had cod on a bed of black lentils with a sweet/very spicy accompaniment on the plate. Food was good but we thought it was pricey for what you got. Would give it another try on a quieter night, but for now can't count it as a 'go back to' place.

Last night was my third visit. Every time I have been there the place is packed. Did call ahead seating which helped. There is little to no place to wait. Only had to wait a few minutes before they took us to our table which was in a good spot to watch the crowd but still talk. Nice wine list, good food, and efficient service. It is a fun place to go but be prepared for the crowd. Once you are inside you forget you are in a Short Pump strip mall.

We came to Tazza Kitchen on a very busy Friday night. We were able to call ahead and only had to wait about 10 minutes. The employees greeted us with a smile, the service was incredible and we were so impress with how fast we got our food on a Friday night! We had the Margherita pizza and beef tacos. Both were excellent. We also really enjoyed the beer selections. Highly recommend!

Visited Tazza twice now and have been pleased. The menu is unique and fun, given the focus in the wood fired pizza oven. As a pescatarian, I appreciate their menu, which offers lots of options. Of note, the goat cheese appetizer, the roasted cauliflower and the crab cakes were delicious! Drink menu was fun and not too on the edge...plus LOVE the outdoor seating by the fire! Will be back soon!

Sooooo happy to have this place open! I live near it and we tried last Friday night at 8:00 pm...it's been busy every night of the week as I drive by it. They told us 20 minutes for a table outside and it was just about that long. the wait gave us time to get a good glass of Italian wine at the bar and enjoy the high top wooden block tables perfect for standing and not creeping out people in the bar seats just in front of you. They also have two high top tables out on the patio near the fireplace. The fireplace...patio...gorgeous. fence is high enough that you don't look out over the parking lot when seated and the landscaping makes it look a lot nicer. Inside is gorgeous too but a little noisier. with the ambient heating outside it can be used most of the year here. We loved the food...had Brussels sprouts as appetizer, spicy sausage pizza, and crab cakes. All awesome and so hot when they arrived (spaced nicely ) you couldn't eat it right away. Who's complaining about attentive service? It was quite nice. I have a policy of never visiting a new restaurants until the kinks are worked out. Give a few weeks and go back. Several owners/managers checked in on us while we were waiting and after seated and when done eating. No complaints for attention there....plenty of employees and the flow and cadence of the staff seemed great. We will return many times. Was looking for someplace better than a sports bar for a casual dinner and this just might be it.

I went with a friend on Sunday and we were disappointed that they only offered a very limited brunch menu at that time. We looked over the menu for quite a bit and finally ordered only to find out that they were out of what my friend wanted. It would have been nice to know a head of time. Anyway long story short food was only ok for the price. I feel like the four star ratings are employees etc.. Nine bucks for a tiny bloody mary was ridiculous. I am sure they would sell more if they lowered the price nothing was special about it and their so called homemade mix was not good at all.

Ridiculously loud inside, conversation is virtually impossible. Had the fish tacos which were bland beyond belief -- all I tasted was the burned tortilla. No seasoning, just a couple of scrubby lime wedges. These were accompanied by a strange heavy little baking pan of refried beans, I guess, that tasted just like canned baked beans. The whole ambience of the place is very heavy, very masculine or yang if you want to use feng shui terminology. The late lamented Caturra, in this same spot, had charm. This place has none.

The pizza was really good, I just had to wait an extra 15 minutes for mine while the rest of my party stared at their food bc the waiter put in the wrong order. I had to call the manager over to complain, he said mine would be taken care of and offered to reheat my friends pizza. But when my bill came, my waiter gave me a $3.54 credit??? Got it straight, food was good, service not so much.

Great little place to eat. We have been here twice now and have found the food to be eclectic and high-quality. Even our kids loved it! The staff is friendly and accommodating. The outdoor seating is very nice for the warmer weather, but they also have heaters when it is a little more chilly.

had the brick oven oysters topped with pesto pistachio vinaigrette. those were absolutely delicious. it's too bad it only came with 4 since they were $9. I also ordered the mushroom pizza. I definitely do not recommend getting the pizza at all..it was mediocre. Slightly burnt and barely any cheese was to be found. Sad pizza :( My friend let me try some of her scallops and risotto which were pretty good, but the portion was a bit small for 16.50. Overall, it was an okay experience with a nice atmosphere, lovely decor, and the staff was pretty friendly and attentive.

Tazza Kitchen is amazing! We have been here several times and have yet to be disappointed. The fresh bread and goat cheese dip is always a good start and the pizza (made with the same dough) is equally as good. The atmosphere is great and we can't wait for nicer weather to enjoy the outdoor patio (without the walls). This is a truly amazing restaurant with great service and ambiance. We will be back many more times in the future!

Outstanding brunch today. I had huevos rancheros and hubby had steak and eggs. Both dishes were tasty and the steak (a pasture-raised flat iron) was so tender and flavorful. The portions were great for the price and quality. This will become a regular brunch stop for us.

Cozy space, lovely staff with fantastic knowledge of menu and wines. Dined for both brunch and dinner, menu offers a great selection. Highly recommend the beet salad, meatball appetizer and the bread is amazing. Family friendly as well with a great margarita pizza for the kids.

This place is perfect. The big fireplace makes it a really nice place to hang out in the winter. The food is fresh and well prepared. The service is attentive, but not annoying. The wood-fired pizzas are truly the most delicious pizza available in Short Pump and easily some of the best I've had in RVA. It's authentic Neopolitan pizza and very fresh. My only wish is that Tazza accepted calls for take out orders. We can't stand the other so-called pizza in the neighborhood and it's a drag during the week to have to wait at the bar and order the pizza and wait instead of being able to call ahead and just pick it up. It's also refreshing that it doesn't feel like a chain and has a personality. It's nicely designed and contemporary. All around one of our favorite neighborhood joints that sets a standard of what options there should be proliferating throughout the 'hood.

Just ate at Tazza again yesterday. I did not eat anything all day and was starving for something quick. I rolled up there at 430pm and there were already folks in there. I was greeted by the friendly staff as always. I chose to sit at the bar as I was in a hurry. The chicken tacos I ordered were awesome and the bartender was extremely helpful and curtious even though all I had were the tacos and water to drink. We spoke about how I wished they were open for lunch and their Sunday and Saturday brunch that is fabulous as well. I was in and out in 20 minutes. Love this place.

I just had to update and give 5 stars again to Tazza kitchen for our first brunch experience here. I ordered the huevos rancheros and also tried the breakfast pizza. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. Our service was friendly and quite efficient. Tazza kitchen strives for and accomplishes a delightful blend of ambiance! attentive and friendly service and delicious food you can't find elsewhere. I find their prices to be quite reasonable.

As we arrived on opening night, we were greeted with a nice young man holding an umbrella for us (it was pouring) and walked us in. The rustic and very impressively designed restaurant itself, marries the Tuscan and modern vibes perfectly. We arrived for happy hour and decided to try the wines on the menu. Usually, happy hour wines are the cheap, not so great wines, but these were fantastic! Our bartender knew just what we liked as soon as we described our taste and was on point with timing and conversation. The tomato and goat cheese dip was AMAZING!! Local goat cheese with fresh, juicy roasted tomatoes is not what one would typically think is a good combo but this was wonderful. We then ordered the arugula and prosciutto pizza, another delight! Such a great new addition to the Cafe Caturra family, and the Short Pump area! Can't wait to bring the girlfriends there for dinner sometime soon.

I have been here twice for dinner and once for brunch. It's by far the best restaurant in Short Pump, and among my favorites in all of Richmond. Each time I've been, everyone I ate with thought their dish was fabulous, including my very picky husband. I have loved everything, too! You can't go wrong with anything on their menu, but the pizza is especially incredible. YUM!

Just had lunch with hubby. He had the HABAÑERO MAPLE CHILI . He liked it but I didn't think it was anything special about it. We had the SPICY SAUSAGE & BLACK PEPPER HONEY pizza. The pizza was burnt. The sitting arrangement was uncomfortable and tables are very near to each other. For the price they charged, I would expect better environment, if not the food.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
