This is a fabulous little gem! Friendly staff, great dogs and lots of toppings. 2 loaded dogs, bag o chips and a drink for under $7! Crozet is SO lucky. I'll be back to check out the fries, bbq, etc. too full from deez dogs, man. #boom
About a 2-2.5: Sam's Hot Dog Stand is a franchise that started out in Huntington, WV. The owner, Frank Lucente, founded the original recipe from an elderly woman that lived in his town and have been serving with his dog ever since. As the hubs and I were in the area, we decided to give this hot dog place a try. The menu offers build-your-own dogs, Chicago Style, pulled pork BBQ sandwiches, mini corn dogs, nuggets, sides (french fries, onion rings, potato chips, etc.), and drinks. We tried their popular chili cheese slaw dog (all their hot dogs are all-beef) with a drink. The dog itself was more on the underwhelming side, as the slaw was really watery and had no flavor (not sweet or tangy); it sat on top of a mound of chili that had minced ground meat, which also had no flavor to it. I wasn't really a fan of the hot dog, either, as it didn't taste anything like beef; we actually ended up throwing it away after a couple of bites. The place was empty when we came in, and the service was pretty quiet and stiff. It's not a stand, but part of a small plaza off of Notch'd Road. I am curious in trying out their original location out in Huntington, but won't be back to this particular one! +watery slaw T___T +un-savory chili T___T +underwhelming dogs T____T +part of the plaza off of Notch'd Road
Good hot dogs with tasty chili. They have excellent french fries- just crispy enough. Reasonably priced and courteous and quick service, I have been there several times and it is always super clean.

Excellent all around. I grew up in c-ville & only get back a couple of times a year, but this is a MUST every time I get east. I can't say I've been home without a meal at Sal's. The pizza is astounding - starting with the perfect thin crust and the homemade sauce. Other favorites are a giant greek salad and the chicken cacciatore (when available). I hear there is a new turbo-charged cheesesteak called "The Don". Haven't seen one to be sure yet, but I will before I leave next time. The staff might as well be family - not much more to say. Give them a try - you won't go anywhere else.
AWESOME!! It's a cute little place. It was good atmosphere, and good food. It was loud, but not an obnoxious loud, it was just loud like people having a god time. It was fun, and The staff is friendly. I was a little bummed that they had no Cal zones, but the Stromboli was a fabulous substitute. The pizza was very good as well.
I don't even know where to begin. I'm from New York and I can tell you what good pizza it is and Sal's doesn't even come close. I have to try to keep the pizza down after eating it. The pizza itself is just disgusting to say the least. The sauce is terrible, the cheese falls off, and the pizza is soggy. The place itself is old and dirty.

My fiancee and I have gotten take out from here. We really like it, the veggies all seem fresh, and the portions are large. Most people will have trouble finishing a full size meal in one sitting, even without any appetizers. Most quart size regular menu items are $8-10, lunch specials $5.25. Consider it a take-out only place, as they only have one small table.
We eat here regularly. The food is fresh, made to order and reasonably priced. It's your typical neighborhood Chinese food. Not too fancy but consistent. My family lives in Crozet, so it represents a twice a month meal for us when we don't have time to cook. The Beef/Broccoli is good. My wife orders that for the kids, but I find it over cooked at times. The Kung Pao Chicken is very good. The Sweet & Sour Chicken is well cooked, but I would like it more if they added pickles and carrots as it is traditionally made. Egg rolls are not my favorite and are 90% cabbage; I usually pass. I would recommend the Hot/sour soup. It is family owned and operated. The are all business, so don't expect a deep conversation. On the other hand, they are fast and efficient... No nonsense. If your order is large they often throw in Crab Rangoon. Still, I recommend.
This is your typical Chinese takeout. The service is fast, and they are known to add in wontons, extra fortune cookies, or rangoons to the bag - awesome. If you walk in and order you won't have to wait very long, but we usually call about 20 minutes ahead of time and it's all ready to go by the time we walk in. All of the chicken is cooked perfectly, and they add just the right amount of sauce to their dishes.

I ordered two pizzas, pepperoni and cheese stuffed crust, and a veggie pizza hand tossed with no sauce on the crust. The pizza was decent but they put garlic butter sauce on my veggie pizza and this was the second time they did it. I won't order from them again.
