Surprisingly good for a little remote location. Outside seating during warm days can be great (they also have heater posts for colder seasons). Their kabop and four cheese pizza are excellent. Wait staff is mostly average.

Came here for drinks and dinner with friends. This place has decent food and decent service. They have a great variety of selection but nothing in particular to make it stand out or "wow" anyone. Alcohol (specifically the cocktails) was delicious but weak though so may have to get two drinks to equal one. I did not meet the owner nor experienced bad service at this place like other reviewers have said. This place is just plain average. Although the decor is kind of strange. It's like a weird clash between trying to be upscale and then giving up half way through and making it a regular diner.

We've been to Rosemary's Thyme a few times before but before we were Yelpers! We were in the area running an errand and decided to stop for dinner. We were greeted when we walked in and told we could sit anywhere. Most of the empty tables were filthy. We chose one by the window that was dirty and then the hostess sighed as if we shouldn't have picked that one. Well then - you shouldnt' have offerred. One tv in the bar was on the Nats game so we asked if the other one could be put on the Caps game. They said, "of course'. They proceeded to turn the channel and the entire time we were the tv said.....your programming is not available. They never bothered to pay attention to what channel they put it on or to find another channel. - Just left it on a blank screen with that simple message. Now no one could watch anything! The waitress came to take out orders and I don't even remember what my husband ordered. It was fine whatever it was. i asked if someone was "good" and she frowned and said I don't like eggplant so I wouldn't know. NICE ANSWER. It was an unusual dish so I decided to try it anyway. It was actually pretty good. Once we got our food - our waitress was never to be seen again. It took forever to get a box for my leftovers and to get the check. I remembered the place being better. I guess I may have been wrong or it's going downhill. Not sure I would bother to try it again - in the neighborhood or not.

Went again last week and yes, all new wait staff. The turnover must be phenomenal. Will continue to only do take out for the pizzas until they get some stability. Too bad.

Restaurant for folks with low expectations.... Hey Mr. Owner, hear me out ! I read here that a lot of people were complaining about the blunt food taste. They are right. Food taste like of McDonalds.. Too many 86s.......place needs quality management. ...and improvement on food taste.. I was there at 8'clock .. Half of the foods I asked were 86. You have red pepper for customer alright.. But, cheap Italian pizzeria kind with seeds.. Good Lord..get some good quality seedless Turkish red pepper from Super H ... Doner on Iskender was half an inch thick. Darn! What planet are we on? It tastes like meatball not kebab..bad bad bad... Dough on pide was greatly done at least, BUT, pide itself had way too much mozzarella for its own good.. Less but quality Kassari cheese is warranted... Lahmacun as appetizer..OK..at least not terrible. Desserts were another disappointment. . . Thick chocolate mousse with cheap whipped cream..... It also had a very cheap chocolatty taste.. Packaged Jello mousse sold in Giant is much better tasting.. Romanoff sauce was alright with fresh berries. Nothing exciting but alright.... Waitress forgot to bring cutlery and napkins with appetizers. Restaurant with average check of $30 per person should also provide cloth napkin I believe. Will I come back again??... I do not think so.. Ah one last thing..most dishes are based on Turkish cuisine. I do not expect the taste to be exactly the same, but taking names of certain famous Turkish dishes yet leaving most of the taste behind is a huge mistake...at least, hire a Turkish or Greek chef to QC the food taste. It will do you and customers good..

Yes, I gave this restaurant one star. That is only because I have been coming here for 19 years and the food has been amazing. What I witnessed today was nothing short of disturbing. The owner yelling at an employee, belittling him in front of everyone, then when I told him to stop... He asked what he could do to make me happy. I asked him to apologize, he said: NEVER. So i told him I would NEVER be coming back.

I went here for lunch with some friends today. I have been here several times before, and I always enjoy the food. Food- I had the Adana Kabob with extra veggies instead of beans. I also had the tortilla soup. The soup was good with a strong tomato base and tortilla chips on top. The bread and tapenade looked delicious, but I'm trying to cut down on carbs so I forced myself to stay away from it. that kebab had a nice flavor and it had a slight kick to it which I liked. The next veggies were pretty good too... They weren't just steamed l or drowning in a butter sauce like in most restaurants. They had a bit of seasoning, and it tasted almost like it was cut with a little bit of wine. One friend had the Mediterranean salad with blackened chicken which looks delicious. She ordered a small size and couldn't even finish it. My other friend ordered the blackened shrimp pizza. She goes here all the time and she says it's a favorite of hers. Service - our server was very nice. He was personable and he got our order correct. My only complaint is that we had to wait a while for him to take our order and for our food to be served. People who came in after us were able to order before us and eat before us. I'm not sure if it had something to do with the type of food we ordered since I know that some salads can be made much quicker than a kebab. However, it seems like it took a lot longer then needed. Atmosphere - The restaurant was nice. When you walked in, you can see the kitchen straight through the back. There is a nice Mirow on one wall and the restaurant was clean. My only comment for the appearance was that when you walk to the back to the bathrooms, you pass a service station. One server was eating lunch at the service station. I've worked in restaurants for over a decade and we were never allowed to eat where customers could see us. Also, the service station was a little messy. There are dirty dishes and cups sitting on the counter. I definitely understand how Sarah stations can get busy and you don't have time to return dirty dishes all the way to the kitchen, But a bus person should at least be in charge of clearing the service station so it looks clean. Overall - I enjoyed my experience and the food. I don't know that this would be one of my favorite restaurants, but it was good!

We had brunch here on a Sunday morning. We arrived about five minutes after opening and service was slow but picked up as they seemed to get more organized. Our server was friendly and competent just the right blend of chatty but please leave me a lone I'm trying to eat here. :) The brunch menu was pretty expansive and included the regular brunch stapes e.g, eggs benedict, eggs, bacon, and quiche lorraine. The Eggs Benedicts was good but they overcooked the eggs we sent it back to the kitchen -- something they offered to do without even our suggestion -- I like that and the eggs were perfectly cooked the second time around. The hollandaise sauce was a bit off, not sure what the problem was but it was not the typical taste I am used to. The quiche lorraine was good but I prefer a flakier crust. Overall, this seems like an excellent neighborhood eating establishment but I would not make a special trip to dine here.

Had dinner last night with my family. Mixed emotions on the entire experience. The menu is expansive and requires some serious review if you are unfamiliar with Turkish/Greek cuisine. We mentioned to our server it was our first visit and she was most helpful in pointing out notable dishes. Overall, the food was good, not great. Like others, we generally found it to be somewhat bland and used the Pide sauce to boost the flavor of other dishes. The Adona Kabob was our favorite, the white pizza rather greasy and flavorless. The ambience of the restaurant is lacking. Tables are too close and too many hard surfaces made the noise level - in a practically empty restaurant - a little annoying. Some drapes or linen table cloths would help immensely. I am guessing the summertime outdoor dining is a more pleasant experience. We had to take setups from another table, as our server brought food and failed to notice we were without. Empty dishes were not removed when new ones were brought, a challenge on a small table. The owner of the restaurant was entertaining his own family and friends in the rear corner of the restaurant and it was clear the staff were expected to cater to that table, at the expense of other diners. They were loud and the "flute recital" by his daughter completely unnecessary. He failed to ever acknowledge other guests in the midst of his peacocking. Lastly, the place is filthy. The walk (past the boisterous family table) to the facilities takes you past a service station overflowing with dirty dishes and a storage area that needs some serious cleaning. The lights in the ladies room were nearly-burned out fluorescents, making it impossible to even see. My guess is that was a gift. Overall, this place has potential, but is beyond tired. The old dude owner needs to move in, entertain his guests at home and let someone takeover who will clean it up, breath some fresh energy into this place and max out its potential.

This is our favorite spot and we have to fight the urge to go there more than once a day. Everything we've had has been stellar. The only reason we branch out is seeing plates go by us to other tables. Service is tops. The bread and tapenade is worthy of being a meal itself. Our next item on the checklist is happy hour. I would recommend that first timers go for brunch on the weekend, because their specials are bomb. We regularly get the eggs benedict, steak and eggs, huevos rancheros, pides, and pancakes. The coffee is also noteworthy. For lunch/dinner, try the rollas and seafood pasta. Would go on, but we haven't made it through the whole menu yet. We've already resigned to driving here when we move closer to DC. If you have family in town, bring them here!

Aside from being in a shopping center, not that there's anything wrong with that, I enjoyed this spot. It didn't blow me away but I didn't expect it to. It pretty much met my expectations and here's why. 1. Although it was in a shopping center/ strip mall type setting, it had ample outdoor seating which is always nice. 2. The service was decent. They kept our glasses filled and checked back once or twice after the main course arrived. Our server and maybe the folks behind the bar didn't seem very enthusiastic about being there. No smiles, more of a robotic type of service but none the less, we didn't really lack anything. 3. The food was good. I had the Mediterranean Pizza (cooked in a brick oven) which had pesto, diff. cheeses, spinach, garlic and sun dried tomatoes. Very flavorful...a fun dish. My sister had the Pasta Bolognese with home made meet sauce although I'm not sure it was really home made...it as good, not great but good. All in all, a decent spot and I would return for a weekday dinner meal with family.

I'm quite disappointed in the doner kebab. It is clearly just burger not a kebab of any sort. The rice is not the best I've had. Also no apple tea, a stipple of Turkish culture. Not impressed whatsoever.

Frequent visitor, food was good as usual but staff was not on their A game. They were slow and many tables were not cleaned for some time.

Came for Mothers Day brunch. Waited a forty five minutes for drinks and a complete hour until I had to approach waitstaff as my grandmother was on the verge of passing out just to get some food another fifteen minutes later. Waitstaff is apologetic and I understand the rush of people on days like this but this service is completely ridiculous. Don't come if you expect food within any reasonable amount of time.

I'd definitely come back. The food was good, the service could have been better. Came here with my girlfriend for a light dinner (I had been before and really liked the cöp şiş), I had the corn chowder, she the shepherd's salad, and we split an order of the manti. All three were quite tasty, and perfect portions for what we wanted. For the service, it wasn't bad, but not outstanding. The server was friendly, but we were kind of off to the side, so I don't think we got quite as quick attention. The manti came out well after the soup and salad had arrived, and we didn't see our server for a longish stretch and I was starting to wonder if I should ask about it. I had to ask for a refill on my tea when she finally did come back around, but after she was quick on refills. Definitely go there. It's nice, it's got a good, quiet ambiance, and in the summer the outdoor patio seating is enjoyable.

I used to frequent at least once a month. I prefer to support locally owned restaurants. I go less now as I am Disappointed in this establishment. The quality of the food has diminished. They Nickel and dime when it comes to asking for an extra sauce ($2.75 extra for approximately 2 tablespoons of tzatziki - later refunded). And lastly on my last visit the owner was eating and appeared to be drinking at the bar with his back to the Dining room. Previously he is more often than not seated at a table in the corner of the restaurant with others that appear to be his friends/family. Having grown up in a restaurant family as well as having clients and friends in the business its not something I am used to seeing and frankly find it aloof and in disregard of the customer. An owner should be more involved in his restaurant. There are far better establishments nearby.

Food is very tasty. Eaten here a handful of times and no complaints. If I had to choose one it would be that they removed a asparagus/smoked salmon appetizer from their menu. It was yummy! Bring it back!

We waited more than a hour to get our food and the coordination between the kitchen and the waitresses were poor. Food was okay but not worth the wait. Disappointed...

Today I tried their Mediterranean Pide, and it was absolutely to-die-for! I'm sad that I didn't try it sooner! Feta, olives, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, and oven-roasted garlic atop a delectable house-made pita, alongside a flavorful tomato dipping sauce...how did I miss out on this for the past decade that I've been coming here? Oh well, I will make up for lost time and continue to order this masterpiece now that I know!

I ordered a Rolla Chicken Thai with a side of pasta salad. I was a little nervous to try a wrap which included traditional thai spices, peanut sauce, and MELTED CHEESE? To my delight, it was delicious. I nearly ate the entire gigantic wrap. The flatbread was soft and doughy, with a grainy texture of cornmeal. There were plenty of toppings. The pasta salad was a bit bland, but it was fresh. Our server was extremely attentive. It was a hot day, so I drank 4 glasses of water during my meal. But our server refilled my glass promptly each time. I would definitely revisit.

Everything here taste wonderful. It is def. the place to go when tired of the typical chain restaurants. The service is great but a bit not clean. I noticed spots on the wall... Could use some deep cleaning but overall I recommend this place!

I've been hearing about his place for years, so it was nice to finally stop by. Before restaurants started getting trendy around here, Rosemary seemed to be one of the old standbys for good dining in Northern Virginia (based on what I saw in local publications like Washingtonian). Since we were still stuffed from lunch, we decided to keep it light and order some small plates to share. We got the branzino, eggplant, and beans. The menu made me nervous because there seemed to be so many things going on. Crawfish saffron penne pasta on the same menu as manti (fried beef dumplings)? Ummm.... Much to my relief and pleasure, the dishes that we ordered were very tasty, and I can see why Rosemary's is a local favorite with a second location in DC. The branzino, which came with an arugula salad and dressing on the side, was light and flavorful. I thought the arugula could have been a little fresher, but overall it was a good dish. The great northern beans with tomato, red onion, and black olives was also tasty, a good snack. The star of all three plates was the eggplant. Stuffed with sun-roasted tomatoes, garlic, onions, and green pepper, it was just what my taste buds needed. They came alive with one bite! The sun-roasted tomatoes were key in giving the eggplants such an addictive quality. Next time, I'll probably get three plates... What's distinct about Rosemary's food, is the simpleness of it. They don't go crazy with sauces. Nothing is drowning in a liquid. They rely mainly on some classic combinations and the intermixing of American and more Mediterranean flavors. Our server wasn't that great, clearing the plate while I was mid bite. Normally, that would cost the restaurant a star or .5 a star, but from listening to the other servers, who were perfectly amiable, I think the issue is more her than the management.. Just an isolated case so not something to keep me from retuning, especially since the food is good and reasonably priced, and closeby.

"Mediocre, unseasoned food with a terrible, slow staff" Food: 2/5 Service: 1/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Parking: 5/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 Rosemary's Thyme seemed like an appealing place to eat at given the category of food they serve - Mediterranean dishes primarily - so my family and I decided to give it a shot after hearing about it online. I saw many other yelpers complaining of the poor service here and they were certainly not lying. We waited approximately 5-8 minutes at the host stand for someone to casually walk over and, without saying hi, asked "how many"? We responded "6". Upon hearing of the apparent large size of our group, she sighed and turned to walk us to our table.....interesting... Then, an additional 12-14 minutes passed before a server greeted us. We were on the verge of leaving! The server quickly took our orders without looking up and walked away and 20 minutes later, our food comes out. The real kicker? The place was nearly empty! It's not like they were rushing around under the pressure of 1,000 guests. Beyond the horrendous service throughout the meal, the food was so bland that I ended up having to add salt, pepper, red pepper, olive oil, and tzaiki sauce to even get a flavor on my tongue. My sister told me her fettuccine alfredo was bland (how can you mess up alfredo? C'mon hamburger helper can do it). My mom's sandwich? Again, bland, unseasoned. My friend's pasta? AGAIN, he reports it's bland bland bland. My dad's? without any noticeable trace of seasoning. The décor in here is nice and inviting, though they should really divide the place in two since it has a very cafeteria feel to it with one large space. The parking is excellent as it's stationed in a strip mall. However, I just cannot recommend this place to anyone. One slip-up on one dish is fine, but all 6 of us had 6 different things and we all thought they were bland. Thankfully, I won't be able to order it again as I don't have 45 minutes to deal with an unpleasant, slow, and inept staff.

This place is one of those hidden gems in centreville. Great for brunch. There food tastes fresh and servers are most helpful. One thing i recommend is to go when the weather is nice to sit outside instead of being inside; the inside design seemed dark and gloomy. Still delicious!!

The food was very good. Two of us had salads - warning: the large salad is really big- and the 3rd had an omelet from the brunch menu. The service was also good - multiple refills of iced tea without being reminded. The only negative was the host. I made a reservation for 3, confirmed it was 3, yet he only brought two menus and two silverware sets. Eventually he remembered and brought the 3rd. I would definitely eat there again.

Our visit was pretty forgettable. First of all, the tables are way too close to each other. Our appetizer of Ispanaklı was flavorless. They were out of the branzino, which was the main reason we chose this restaurant for dinner. The shrimp dish I ordered instead was overcooked. Maybe it was just a bad night. But, it was so not worth the drive from Burke.

I come here pretty regularly & have never been disappointed. It's close to my house & the food is always delicious! I've never had a problem with the service (I see a lot of reviews not happy with it) but I usually go for lunch or an early dinner so its typically pretty empty when I'm there, maybe that's why I've never felt neglected? There's always a different server when I go but they're usually really nice. I love love love the complimentary bread with olive oil & olive tapenade. The tapenade is so yummy! It's really hard not to fill up on this before your meal since they keep bringing you more if you finish! My favorite meal here is the 3 cheese agnolotti. Something about the fresh dill really sets off the dish. YUM!!! I've also had the feta meta salad (nice & light), the pan-fried manti appetizer (the dumplings aren't anything special but I really like the yogurt sauce it comes in. I wouldn't order it for a meal) & the kiymali pide (loved this, I thought the lamb was well seasoned). I wish I could say I've tried more things but I have a hard time getting away from the agnolotti *sigh*. Anyways, I think Rosemary's Thyme is delicious! Despite the mixed reviews I would recommend trying it out. If nothing else just for the yummy bread & tapenade :)

I typically don't wake up that early on the weekends but since the weather has warmed up, and I have a serious case of Spring fever, I was on the hunt for a local brunch spot that offered outside seating. I had vaguely remembered that Rosemary's served brunch and I knew they had outside seating so decided to check it out. Soo happy we did. The brunch menu has allot of variety, everything from soups and salads to a wide variety of egg, sausage and bacon dishes. The salads are amazing, by far the best salads offered in the area. The portions are very hearty, even the small salads are a good size. My favorite is the California salad. My husbands favorite brunch dish is the Ranchos Huervos! Most of there plates are under 10 dollars and we find the prices to be quite reasonable. The service is always prompt and courteous, not sure if its because I go later (like after 12:00) but we always find good seating. Easily said, Brunch at Rosemary's is BOMB.com I definitely will be back!

My entire family loves this place. Delicious pizza, insane homemade pasta, and great specialty items. The fettuccini Alfredo is seriously the best I've had, but each time I go I try something new b/c it's all so darn good. My most recent find that will send me back again and again are the stuffed mushrooms. Stuffed with mozzarella cheese and covering a layer of caramelized onions. SO good. I didn't give five stars simply because the service is acceptable but not outstanding. Mostly young servers who mean well, but don't always anticipate needs. They are always happy to get you what you need, but you may have to sake for things like butter and drink refills more than in other places with the comparable level of food quality.

This place serves Turkish / Mediterranean / Italian style food that is not all that great. In my last visit I had Iskender, which resembled nothing like the original Iskender. I could not finish my dish because the meat tasted funny and was too thick for that dish. However I remember having lahmacun at some point which was just ok. So they could be an acceptable spot for their oven specials probably.

Came here on a weekday night for a quick meal with a friend to catch up and I will definitely return to try some of the other enticing dishes. My only qualm is that some of the dishes seem a bit pricier than merited. Service was friendly and prompt. Our server was happy to answer any questions and never left our glasses empty. He also offered some great suggestions--we didn't take any of them, but they were at least offered! Everyone is given complimentary bread with olive oil/tapenade to dip in. The bread seems to have a bit of a foccacia texture/flavor, but it wasn't spectacular. I ate it because I was starving, but it seemed a bit stale and I wouldn't choose to eat it in a bread line-up. I ordered the spinach ravioli with tomato cream sauce. The tomato cream was ridiculously delicious--deep flavors of parmesan, fresh tomatoes, basil, and creamy goodness. It was definitely intense--not for the weak-hearted or dieting. The ravioli were also perfectly cooked--the spinach in side was not overcooked and the ravioli itself had a nice al dente texture. Despite being rich and full of flavor, the dish seemed to be a bit small for an entree portion--only six medium-sized ravioli! My friend ordered the Mediterranean Pide--basically a spin on a pizza/flatbread. The dough was fresh and crisp and the flavors layered on the mozzarella/olive oil base were delicious. Portions were great on the Pide and I'm glad that I was able to steal a few slices from my friend since my portions were a little skimp. My friend also says that the tiramisu is the best she's had state-side. I definitely will order it next time! This time though, we opted to try the cappuccino flan as recommended by a few other Yelpers. It was a lot denser than I had expected, but it had a delicious coffee flavor. If you're looking for a lighter dessert, this would not be the choice. Definitely would be a hit for the coffee aficionado (such as myself).

Above average food, prices are a little inconsistent. Service has been friendly and kid friendly. Only small issue is service can be a tad on the slow side and a bit unattentive. Shouldn't have to ask for drink refills or napkins. Higly reccomend the meat pizza and any of their pasta's with their homemade pasta substituted. Only gripe about the pasta is their portions tend to be on the small side. Salads look pretty good, try the Aegean salad with dates and pine nuts. All in all, a solid neighborhood joint serving better food than Outback and other chain restaurants. A bit more of a attentive staff would really help this place out.

We were able to sit outside which was nice, but the restaurant is located in a strip mall that includes a grocery store, so while it was nice to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather, essentially we were just sitting on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant with a view of the strip mall's parking lot, certainly not the nicest view. The complimentary bread that they brought out was good. It tasted kind of like focaccia bread, but was sliced. They serve it with olive oil and some type of olive spread, which was just ok. I ordered the eggplant pasta which you can customize with any type of pasta that you want. I ordered it with penne pasta. My friend ordered the ravioli that came with a pink sauce. I don't know what type of eggplant they used, but it was just one giant stalk laid across the top of the penne pasta and was not at all what I was expecting. While the penne and the pasta sauce tasted good, the so-called eggplant was interesting. I even had my friend taste it and she concluded it didn't taste much like eggplant either and wasn't the best way to present eggplant pasta. The waitress asked my friend and me if we wanted parmesan cheese on top of our pasta dishes and we both said yes. I was so surprised when she returned with a shaker of powdered parmesan cheese. Definitely made us feel like we were at a cheap pizza joint seeing most restaurants offer freshly grated parmesan cheese. If that's what they're going to offer, it should just be left on the table and don't bother asking patrons if they want parmesan cheese. Needless to say, neither of us used that "cheese." We had to ask a couple of times to get our water glasses refilled. When another waiter (or possibly busboy) came out with a pitcher of water to refill water glasses I had to yell toward him a couple of times to get mine refilled because he was just standing there zoning out. The one plus was that the food arrived quickly which was good seeing we needed to get to a movie after dinner. However, to top off our whole experience, the waitress brought back the bill with my credit card receipt and didn't bring a pen. I had to go inside to the hostess stand to borrow one to sign the check!

We are regulars here...we love their salads. Went on Valentine's day and unfortunately sat next to a table of 4 small kids (parents were in a table next to them) who were awful. Ran around and were loud...parents did nothing. Because it was full we couldn't move. I only wish the restaurant would have said something to the parents to control their children. My only other disappointment was I always pay $6 extra for grilled shrimp on top of my salad. There were 5 very small shrimp and was not worth the money. If this is the new size I won't be getting shrimp anymore. This will always be one of my favorite places to get a salad.

One of my favorite places to go to brunch. The staff is extremely friendly, the fresh bread and tapenade is delicious, and I LOVE their quiches. You never feel rushed when you visit - my husband and I can sit for a couple of hours with a cup of coffee, talking and relaxing. It's rare to find a restaurant that won't hurry you out the door so they can clear the table (especially in this area).

The food is pretty good in my experience. The manti is great. Last time I went the service was very slow, especially for a lunch. Probably too 45 minutes to get our food. The food was also more expensive that I expected. About $7 for a cup of soup, and $15 for a kebab that was tiny. I ordered a 'pasta salad' that was kind of just a normal salad with some penne under it. It was massive and $12. Would have loved a small version for maybe $7, and.. actually a pasta salad? I'd love to recommend this place but it's important to keep in mind the price and slow service, I guess. I work in the shopping centre so I may get food there again. Just wish they had more of the inexpensive salad/sandwiches/soup type stuff, they'd crush panera on quality if they could match the price. And if they'd deliver to my shop they'd have my money every day of the week. :) "A-OK."

I had such hopes for this restaurant. I am in desperate search for a great small business restaurant that I can call my go to place. Unfortunately, I have to cross this one off the list. The food was mediocre but not terrible. We started with the cream and white wine mussels that were way to creamy. We got complementary salad or soup with the entrees so I had the Caesar salad and my friend got the tortilla soup. Both were okay but nothing special. I had the lamb ribs, which had a fairly good bourbon glaze, and my friend had the pasta special, which was sausage and spinach. The pasta had no real flavor to it and I barely tasted the sausage. For dessert we got tiramisu and the original cheesecake. The tiramisu was nice and moist and the cheesecake was pretty good despite a little mixup with the service. The service is the main problem I had with this restaurant and after reading the reviews, in hindsight I shouldn't have even tried. The bottle of wine that we ordered was opened very poorly with the foil still on it which for me struck a little nerve but nothing too serious. After ordering, the appetizers came out quickly which was nice but then, not 4-5 minutes later, our entrees come out. There was no space on the table and, what seemed like the manager, made no apologies whatsoever and stuffed our plates on to the cramped table after just standing there while we tried to make room. I didn't even touch my entree for 10 minutes. The waiter says something to the sorts of "oops, oh well" and leaves it at that when I was clearly frustrated. No one even cleared the plates when we were finally done with our apps. No attention was being payed at all. We ordered the tiramisu but saw what looked to be a perfect cheesecake go by so I stood up and asked to add one to our order. What came out was a slab of cheesecake that didn't look the same, the waiter proceeded to tell us that was the "birthday" cheesecake. Wait, it needs to be my birthday for me to get a nice dessert? All in all, I could've MAYBE pushed aside the bland tasting food aspect and tried to come here again but the service ruined my experience. My search continues.

My boyfriend and I came here with high expectations, since this is a neighborhood staple and some of friends have raved about it. Rosemary's Thyme has the potential to be great, but some things made this experience just "good." Our waitress/hostess, although polite, seemed more focused on chatting with the rest of the staff than attending to us. She only checked up on us once - at the end of our meal - even though the restaurant wasn't busy and we were her only table. We ordered the Adana meze, or lamb skewers as an app. They weren't bad, but left much to be desired. We got three skewers - each had two teeny meatballs of lamb and a slice of red pepper on them. Not bad, but nothing to write home about here. Our main entrees were both good. Boyfriend had the Hunkar Begendi - pulled lamb on top of a bed of eggplant puree, served w/ rice and beans. This dish was wonderful. The lamb was seasoned perfectly and the pureed eggplant was unlike anything I've ever had. The flavors of this dish came to together very well. I had the Crawfish Saffron - penne pasta w/ crawfish in a saffron cream sauce. The dish was very satisfying, but I was expecting a bit more flavor in the saffron cream sauce. The desserts all sounded very tempting, but we were too full to try any. Overall, good food, a bit pricey, but I would come back again.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, which has largely good reviews and a very interesting menu. They were quickly dashed by the poor service, but I will get to that later. The food was very good overall. We tried the stuffed mushrooms, which sat on a bed of onions that were a bit salty for my taste. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly; nice little fungi of flavor. We both had Caesar salads with our dinner (that took forever; more than 10 minutes after our appetizer was finished) which were good, but very small and no croutons to speak of. I had the pasta special which was sausage, spinach, and cheese stuffed ravioli in a "saffron infused cream sauce". Turns out it was a saffron-laden sauce and it was phenomenal! After I devoured the 6 ravioli (which I was annoyed about until I saw how much saffron was in the sauce) I took the leftover sauce home. My husband had the salmon with whipped potatoes and a cucumber/onion/tomato salsa. He loved it and said the salmon was cooked perfectly. We indulged a bit and got two desserts: Tiramisu and chocolate mouse (that is how it was written on the menu). The tiramisu was good, but too light on the coffee & liqueur flavors to balance out the marscapone cheese that seemed too heavy. The "mouse" was also mysteriously heavy, so it gave it the consistency of chocolate frosting rather than a light & fluffy dessert. Now for the service issues. First, the restaurant is so packed with tables it is probably breaking some sort of fire code. We had to take a long loop around the dining room to get out , even though we were steps from the door. Second, we had the waitress with the least amount of tables (you could see the sheet the hostesses were using to keep track) yet had terribly slow service. She kept saying things like "The bar is really slow" and "The kitchen is so busy" , but other people who ordered similar things well after us got them before us. We waited a full 10 minutes after we finished our desserts before we even saw her again. Even though my husband had the credit card out, she still put the bill on the table and left for another 5 minutes. Third (and this is a pet peeve of mine) even though we were there for nearly 90 minutes, we never got our water glasses refilled even though we asked several different people (some more than once). I wouldn't come back here again.

We've been coming to RTB almost as long as we've lived in the area -- nearly 20 years. Went back on Saturday for the first time in a while. The food is still solid, some things better than others as you'd expect with a big menu fan (which is why I'm a smaller menu sort of guy). My wife really enjoyed the seafood tagliatelle, and I liked the lamb shish/adana combo plate. The small caesar salad that accompanied my dish was weak. Got two meze -- the spinach pie thing, and the manti (dumplings). Both good. Service is variable, again, to be expected at a place like this in a suburban shopping center. There are some more senior servers who seem willing to help the younguns out. Overall, RTB is more interesting than many places out here in the boonies. It's good for a date night or a family meal (my kids got cheese pizza and pasta with butter, respectively, off the kids menu). Good place for carbo-loading!

I love this place, I wish I could make it out there more often. Good mediterranean food is always delicious! We got their tzatziki appetizer (they call it something else, but it is the yogurt dip). So delicious, we asked for a side of veggies as a healthy dipper and they were happy to accommodate. We had a special which was sliced gyro meat over rice with a side of delicious white beans. Came with more of the delicious yogurt dip! Our server was great and attentive. We sat outside because the weather was nice. Another plus, we found out they have happy hour from 4-7pm 7 days a week so our bottle of wine was half price! Can't beat a good bottle of Pinot Noir for $19 at a restaurant!

My bf and I went here for the first time. We've always driven by and he finally decided to try it out. The atmosphere inside was kind of gloomy and very curry quiet. Our waitress was very very sweet she was delightful I can't remember her name but she was tall, caucasian with long brown hair. He ordered calamari and we awaited our meals when two staff members one standing in the kitchen and the waitress standing on the outside started arguing with each other. This made myself and the mister highly uncomfortable. We immediately cancelled out entrees and left. It's very unfortunate that happened I really had been looking forward to eating here. They really should look into hiring new staff. Also, the manager who was also very sweet did come over and apologize.

This was a disappointing meal exacerbated by careless staff. Bad Point#1: when we ordered our drinks (1 iced tea, 2 Diet Cokes, and a scotch), the waitress immediately poured water ACROSS THE TABLE for the scotch drinker and removed the other water glasses from the table. When I mentioned that I too would like a glass of water, she gave me a shocked look like I had stepped on her feet. Bad Point#2: my father asked for bread and was told "We only bring that out after you order." Bad Point#3: when asked about the salad dressing, we were told two choices: balsamic dressing, "which compliments the salad perfectly" and "some feta-something dressing." as a practicing rabbit, balsamic dressing compliments just about any generic salad. Bad Point#4: the servers flung our dinners at us. I caught mine before it hit my lap and the server kept insisting on trying to place it in my lap. Bad Point#5: I had to get up from the table to walk to the bar for straws to "compliment" our drinks "perfectly." Bad Point#6: How do you get dry chicken when it is on the verge of undercooked? The side of beans tasted metallic as if they dumped a tin of canned tomatoes on top of them. And my side veggies looked sad. I felt sad looking at them. I knew I would feel sad after eating them. Bad Point#7: I ordered hot tea. I don't have after-dinner coffee like my fellow diners, I prefer tea. So after taking the order for three coffees, my waitress looked aghast and asked: "It's pretty hot outside; you sure you want hot tea?" I answered in the affirmative, but don't worry fellow yelpers, I never received my tea. Bad Point#8: we only saw our waitress a handful of times. She rarely checked up on us, leaving it the job of everyone else to refill drinks. The fastest she moved was right after my father placed his credit card on the bill and returned very shortly with the credit card receipts. Bad Point#9: the wait staff either congregated at the door or behind the bar, laughing and joking. We went fairly early in the evening, which makes me wonder what happens when it gets busy. And they only serve from one side of the table. Bad Point#10: you have to walk past the kitchens to get to bathrooms. This begs a patron to take a looksee while waiting for their turn. I found it disorganized and dirty. Good Point: my sister's lamb ribs were delicious! That's why they got an additional star from me.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!! Had dinner here with my wife last night and it was horrible. The sea bass was so dry it sucked all moister out of your mouth and it was all over seasoned. The entrees tasted like a microwave dinners and the service was horrible.

This place has become our neighborhood go-to. It is very laid back and the happy hour specials are pretty good and are every day of the week! I have tried a lot of things on the menu, though some of the things that I get the most would have to be the lamb rolla and the baklava. I have also recently tried the pide with the cured beef (not exactly sure what it is called, but it's worth noting down). I would say that the food here is great and is decently priced. The reason that it only gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because I have found that sometimes there can be some inconsistency in the quality and sometimes there can be some service issues. Other than that, I have found the food is nicely spiced, tastes fresh, and when you do get served the service is pretty good.

Incredibly good...pizza?? I was surprised too. Well, first I was surprised that Clifton actually extends to the other side of Braddock Rd, and has a cheesy little strip mall with this restaurant in it, but after I got over that, the food took most of my impressions. It's got a great mix of Turkish, Italian, and unidentified fusion, and I was especially enthralled by the blackened shrimp pizza. It takes a special touch to pull off seafood on pizza, and Rosemary's Thyme did a great job. We also tried the Sigara Boregi and the calamari, and both tasted fresh with individual flavor. I agree with other reviewers that the tables are both too close together and a little sticky; I am momentarily using a walker, and I had quite the time negotiating the spaces between the tables, not to mention being terrified of biting it on my way to the potty due to the slick floors. But, that was overcome by the pleasant wait staff, and the reasonable prices. Rosemary, you need a bit of a decor update, but your food rocks.

One of the better restaurants in Centreville. I've tried just about all of their basic dishes and the kitchen handles the large variation of meals very well. Pizza to pasta, seafood to poultry, they'll have what you're hungry for. Ah, can't forget the soups - made from scratch, they have a new soup almost daily. Oh, also, half-price bottles of wine for happy hour during the week. The only downer about this place is when it gets crowded - loud, cramped and chaotic... Other than that, it's an excellent spot to hit for locals in Centreville and Clifton.

I've been to Rosemary's many times in the past 10 years or so as I live in the area. I have had varied experiences. The first thing that comes to mind, oddly, is that I'm often really hot in the restaurant as the entire front is windows and the sun is usually streaming in and heating the place up, and also if you sit at the wrong angle, you're being blinded by the sun constantly! Outside of that, though, the food is....ok. I've had some experiences where the chicken was clearly not cooked enough and was pink in the middle. I've had other experiences where I thought my meal was delicious, but I can't say it's consistent with any certainty. I still visit upon occasion, but there are other restaurants I'd rather go to most of the time.

Today was my third visit to RTB and I don't think I will go back again. The service was really not good. Our server had no personality, we had to ask for silverware and napkins twice. There was a bug in my friends coffee and the table stayed dirty while the check was dropped. The whole place seemed to have a fog in it, it was cloudy in the air which was weird. The other services seemed to not care about their tables as well and the food was just OK. Service needs a lot of work and the place seems dirty.

I went to RTB last week with a very dear, but relatively new friend. She picked a great place. We shared the Trio Med App that was a dish of classic hummus, baba ghanoush (hummus but with eggplant not chick peas) and a slightly spicy tomato-based dip. This was really wonderful and a great starter. Then we ordered salads, mine was the Aegean with tomatoes, dates, cukes, candied walnuts and Gorgonzola served with a mixture of romaine and mixed greens. It is served with a choice of pomegranate vinaigrette or creamy feta dressings. My waiter graciously accommodated my indecision by accepting my request for both. My friend had Rosemary's Chicken - the kicker here --you can choose roasted (cold) or grilled (hot) chicken. Let's just say, some like it hot...my friend, and some like it cold...me. I thought it was novel that they get that most people have a preference. For dessert, I had the coffee flan. It was a little, oh I wish I had a better word, "loose" but it was tasty. I would go back twice - to try the pizza that looked amazing and brunch. I hear they make a mean eggs Benedict.

Wow Yelp...it's been awhile. I came to Rosemary's Thyme about a month ago, in town with my girlfriend's family for a friends wedding. See, they've raved about this place ever since I've known them, as their favorite "hometown" brunch spot. I gotta admit, parts of it were outstanding, but, my meal was not particularly impressive, I'll blame myself. --the bread and olive oil is AWESOME!!! I dare you not to fill up on this --we ordered a calamari and tomato sauce appetizer--VERY VERY good. I don't think it was on the brunch menu, but they will still make it. --my girlfriends chicken alfredo was great--and seeing that she picks around the chicken (yea....weird...i know)...i had my fill of that. --I had one of their "roll-up" sandwiches...kind of like a gyro, but not nearly as good...STAY AWAY! So, all in all, I wasn't blown away by RT, but I got a good sense why people can love it so much!

Wow - sorry I didn't try this place sooner! I don't live too far away so this may be my new go to place. Food was incredible and the service was great. I had Chicken Iskender, delicious sauce on it, my husband had the chicken Shish, fresh vegetables came with it, both were great. Came with bread and salad or soup.

I've lived across the street from this place for over five years and just went for the first time. I went here with low expectations as my last mediterranean restaurant experience was bad. I was happily impressed. The menu is very large, I think they could make it smaller. I'm always suspicious of restaurants that have large menus, how are they able to execute every dish to par with so many items? Anyway, I got the adana kebab and it was great. The meat was tender and had a nice spicy flavor but not too much. The rice and vegetables were good too. My husband had the kebab combo with a chicken and lamb kebab. It was a little bland for him, he likes spice and more flavor. It's pretty loud and gets busy as there aren't a lot of dining options in Clifton. The prices are average. Service was average, the hosts and wait staff are mostly teenagers so their not always that attentive.

We came here for a friend's birthday - with reservations - and were seated immediately despite the place being busy and being 20 minutes early. The waiter took our drink order as soon as we sat down, and returned promptly as the rest of our party arrived. The waiter delivered fresh bread cooked with herbs and olive oil and tempanade (sp?) to dip the bread in - it was delicious. Seeing as we had a party of 10, we ordered an array of appetizers to share around the table, which included the Trio Med (hummus, baba ghanoush and tomato meze), Lahmucan (turkish pizza with minced lamb), three cheese borek, and the mussels chardonnay. While they were all very tasty, my favorites were the trio med and the borek, and I can easily see myself making that a meal next time I go. For an entree I had the pastirma and cheese pide which was pretty good, but I think I liked the dipping sauce it came with the most. I tried a piece of my friend's blackened shrimp pizza and a bite of lamb from another friend's doner kabab special, both very tasty. I don't eat a lot of lamb (unless smothered in tzatziki sauce in a gyro), but Rosemary's Thyme cooks it in a way that it is much more palatable to me. Another one of my friends had one of the rollas and said it was awesome. Despite trying bites from so many entrees, there wasn't one that particularly stood out so I'm thinking I'll need to go back and try something new until I do. I finished my meal with a turkish coffee, which despite being very hot and very strong, was very easy drink. Definitely a good after dinner drink (especially if you need to stay awake for anything). Overall, it was a good dinner. With two beers, two appetizers, one entree and the coffee my bill came out to under $50 before tip. Will definitely be back sooner than later.

So many good things to say about this place. For starters, I love the cozy intimate local small town feel of the restaurant. Just think the Mid Eastern version of Cheers. After a handful of visits, it feels like home where you know most if not all the servers, and maybe even chat-up with the tables around you too (hey why not, you've probably already seen each other a dozen times). The Mid Eastern servers here definitely complete the ensemble. They are so lax, and then there's Van who is just precious. I usually don't feel comfortable when a man in his 40s smile and try to converse with me, but he is someone you can't help but smile back at. There's also an oriental (sorry, I lack the fine skill in differentiating Asians) female server who is quite the source of entertainment. My family and I came in one night to celebrate the end of a dreadful long week and just simply wanted some cocktails and to have a good time, luckily for us, we were seated in her section and she knew exactly how to ice the crap out of the cake with her enviable energy and extroversive charm. Everything I have tried here so far (knock on wood) is delicious. ** Sheperd's salad is amaazing. Cool cucumbers and fresh tomatoes diced and tossed together in olive oil sprinkled with soft feta. ** Calamari is sauteed in a unique tomatoe/calamari sauce. Very delectable. ** Mussels chardonnay with white sauce. Ohhh wow. Fresh steamed in a bath of sauce. I havn't tried the red sauce, but the white one is out of this world. ** Chicken Iskender is fantastic. Delicious chicken cubes over a bed of pita chips covered with a blanket of tomato-yogurt sauce. ** Quattro-formaggio pizza is awesome. From my perspectives, if you're going to cheat on your diet, it better be damn worth it. Every bite is worth the carb intake. I'd pull the leftovers out from the fridge and reheat it 2 days later, it tastes just like when I first ordered it. ** Lamb ribs. very good but only once in a blue moon for me. There were some fat in the ribs which I had to eat around. I do like the side of potato poker chips that comes with it. ** Sucuk pide. It's a football pizza with Turkish sausages. ** Buffalo pizza - chicken wing, mozzarella stick, and celery all in one bite, every bite. ** Rolla lamb doner. Not "too" impressed with the rolla compared to the other dishes, but this definitely is very filling for a few dollars. ** Cappuccino flan. A must try especially if you are a coffee-aholic like me. ** Baklava. Love the crispy phyllo dough. ** Cosmo = Perfect

I usually come here for their breakfast/brunch food. Everything I have had has been pretty decent, but nothing extraordinary. Sometimes I get the small salad, and it is huge - so I really have no idea how big the large must be. The small Mediterranean salad was plenty enough for lunch. The huevos rancheros are also good. The service has been hit or miss, but definitely be cautious about your bill! We have had a server add on extra money to the tip amount when we payed with a credit card, so pay attention to how much money comes out of your account. The manager fixed the problem when we called and even gave us a small gift card, but it is definitely something to keep track of on your credit card statement.

Their lamb and pasta dishes are quite tasty and remind me of getting a home prepared type of meal. The ambiance is nice and makes it enjoyable to linger awhile with family and friends. From the several times I have been here, the service is a bit slow but always friendly. I patron there about every 1-2 months when looking for Mediterranean home made food and welcoming community atmosphere.

If this review was for the pizza only it would be about 3 stars. But, the rude terrible service here is not worth it. I'd rather stay at home and order Papa John's! The woman who seated us coped an attitude when I asked not to sit right by the door. The restaurant was mostly empty so this shouldn't have been a huge inconvenience. A waiter did not approach our table until at least 20 minutes after we sat down and that's only because I asked if someone could take our order. In the meantime, friends of the hostess came in and were seated at a quaint little table off to the corner and served bread and water immediately. I actually think they may have had their appetizers before someone even took our order! To make matters even worse, there was a table of high school students who appeared to be friends with a few of the waitresses so they kept sneaking over to their friends table to chat rather than paying attention to the costumers. We eventually got our food and it was ok. As I said, the pizza is good but not good enough.

I'm surprised by some of the bad reviews. This place has homemade pastas and clay oven pizzas that are the best around. The fish specials on Friday and Saturday night are awesome delicious. They have the very best soups I've ever tasted. The mediterranean salad is awesome and I don't even like salads. Add lamb on top and its killer. The lamb kabob entree is killer, and believe me, I have tried just about every highly rated lamb kabob place in northern VA. This is good lamb. The service is consistently among the best I've seen. The brunch is very good, although i'm not crazy about the potato hash. The eggs benedict is very good! We're so lucky to have it just around the corner from where we live. I just can't say enough about it. Strongly recommended!

Tucked in a non-descript shopping mall, Rosemary's Thyme in Clifton feels markedly different from the Dupont Circle's location, where the light air and breezy space offers a sense of mini-retreat. Despite the decor and efforts to paint creatively, the Clifton location feels dark and kind of leering. The menu is lengthy, and can feel a bit overwhelming. That said, it can be more affordable and satisfying to choose within the appetizers, salads, and pizzas. High praise for the bronzino appetizer - citrusy and fresh. The pizza was crispy with enough cheese, and was enough for two people. Because I went on a slower night, close to closing, service was not an issue at that time.

Visited RTB this morning for the first time. An acquaitance suggested meeting there for brunch. We arrived about 10:15. Few people were in the restaurant. We were able to sit anywhere. By the time we left after talking, the restaurant was quite crowded (around noonish). I ordered the create your own omelet. Also, I had a special request grilled chicken instead of breakfast meats and no salt in anything. RTB made the omelet (egg whites), grilled chicken and no salt as requested. It was good. The side of potatoes were good too. Personally, I didn't care for the bread. It was served warm which was great with olive oil. However, the bread was spicy. I don't care for spicy food. Service minus - The RTB server never mentioned that the bread was spicy. I would have not have eaten it. Overall, the food was good. I would return for brunch again.

When we arrived at the establishment we were immeadiatly seated by the hostess, however it was about 7 min before we were greeted and about 12 min before we had waters. The industry standard is 2 minites for greeting and 4 minutes for water. My guest and I decided to split an entree, after ordering our food we were treated poorly by the server, even blatently ignored, he was simply un-pleasent. Once our food arrived, it was inedible, simplly a joke, the pasta was overcooked to the point of being mush, and was still sent out to me. I told my waiter that my food was overcooked and he simply waled away. At that time, i took my plate and walked into the bar area and told someone that this pasta is inedible and i didnt want it any longer. So, I left without eating dinner, a nice waste of 1.5 hours, will NEVER RETURN.

Went there today for lunch and was seated outside very quickly. Our waiter was very friendly and answered all the questions we had (the menu lacks detail). Our food was very good and service was at a good pace. We thought about going to Panera next door first, but decided for the 'treat' for a restaurant instead. We made the right call on this pleasant Saturday lunch.

I keep going back here with the hope in my mind of "someone will have trained the staff in how to provide service." Nope. After 5 visits the food is hit or miss and the service is consistently poor. It's such a shame because this restaurant has the potential of being excellent, but if the folks running it don't make the effort to control the quality and improve service nothing will ever bring this place above mediocre.

I think anyone that gives this place 4 or more stars either burned their tongue in a scolding hot tea accident or works for this restaurant. The food here is not of the highest quality, I can tell you that right away. Just order the rice and you will discover why I say this. I have eaten here 3 times already in the last 4 months, every time with a different friend of mine to gauge their opinions and all 3 times, it was the same: HIGH PRICE, LACKLUSTER FOOD. By the grace of God, I'm a quarter Turkish so I have a soft spot in my stomach for Adana kebab, so I had to try it out here. Without wasting any more words, it was like a 5 out of 10 compared to other Adana's I have tried. The only thing it had going for it was that it was spicy and it was edible meat. I am also very picky about my rice, and this place must have the worst rice I have ever tasted. (Warning: the following line may be a bit vulgar for some people) Your 5 year old kid can take a box of Uncle Ben's, pour it into a pot, piss in the pot and overcook it, and it STILL might taste better than this rice. I do have to say though, that this place has good appetizers at least. Admittedly, it's hard to screw up calamari, but they actually do a good job with their sauteed calamari with arugula. Also, their Lahmacun (Turkish pizza) should be one of their entrees, as it's probably the best (and most authentic) meal they have to offer. I give it 3 stars for the appetizers and atmosphere, but the price and terrible rice make me want to give it 2.5 stars (YELP, you seriously need to allow half stars). I leave you with this final word; if you want some GOOD Adana kebab, go to this place in Fairfax called Temel restaurant, I might even review them one of these days.

On Saturday nights they have Turkish entertainment - which is GREAT fun, very romantic, very Turkish. The food is worth three-stars, nothing amazing or fabulous but it's still pretty good. Well, that's only a half-truth. The Calamari is out of this world. They do it a little differently - it's not fried, instead it comes in a stone dish with in a soup of red sauce and I believe it was cooked or broiled, so the calamari melts in your mouth. If you want something great, try the Pide (it's Turkish) instead of some silly salad or chicken dish (unless it's lamb or chicken shish, both are delicious). Their beer selection isn't fabulous, but at least they have Perroni. Tip - the Margaritas are excellent. I felt a little weird drinking a Margarita with Turkish food, and normally I don't touch Margaritas because I've never really had a good one. But this one was delicious. The staff were all very friendly, attentive, and accommodating - we didn't have any problems at all.

You cannot go wrong here for fresh Mediterranean food. I'll drive 20 miles from my house just to have some Rosemary's Thyme. Check out their special - a saffron sauce over ravioli. It's amazing!

I'll give it a 3 only because our hot waiter "Tarkan" was great. Not only was he easy on the eyes, but quite attentive. The three cheese cigars we had as appetizers were awesome; dinner however- not so much. I ordered the spicy chicken pasta and the chicken was so dry I thought I was chewing on chalk. All and all not too bad. Oh, beware of the hostess! What a piece of work. Didn't greet us, and sat us with an attitude. I hope she is related to the owner, otherwise she should be fired or demoted to dishwasher. That is all.

I am so so so disappointed with my last dining experience at Rosemary's Thyme in Centreville, VA. I was there for my birthday this past Tuesday with my husband, parents, & grandparents. The restaurant was empty with the exception of about 4 other tables. We arrived at 7:45pm and were not greeted until 8:00pm....and that only happened because my father got up to retrieve a server. Our server was a novice at best. He did not suggestively sell anything, lacked any level of enthusiasm or personality, and was not timely. We ordered the Hummus Trio & Bruscetta Duo to start...Neither were anything to write home about....Small portions for the hummus and it was served with a few pita triangles and tortilla chips....Tortilla chips and hummus??? Weird combination....The Bruschetta was oddly plated...with two large pieces of bread....One only topped with a mound of tomatoes...the other only topped with a mound of basil.... The soups were very good - hot & tasty. The entrees - again - not anything to write home about....We all ordered a shish of some sort...and each was served with rice & beans. The rice obviously had been sitting out for some times because there were ROCK hard chunks throughout. Back to the server....drinks refills were slow, drinks were nearly slammed onto the table, he brought my birthday cake (we furnished it) but did not offer to cut it - just handed me a knife from their kitchen and never wished me a Happy Birthday... But here is the kicker....at 9:55pm (I'm assuming they close at 10pm)....he approached our table to "inform" us that the restaurant would be closing in 5 minutes. He was very "flippant"... Last time I checked, this is one of the rudest things a server could do in any restaurant (with the exception of maybe McDonald's)....I was opening the last of my birthday presents, we were done with dessert and merely enjoying coffee....we obviously were going to be leaving soon yet he made a point to say that....I informed him of how rude I believed he was for saying that...His response was a very sarcastic, "It is protocol."....Honestly, I don't believe him but if it is Rosemary's Thyme needs to reexamine what it means to give good customer service.... We will not be back again for quite some time if ever. There are too many other restaurants that have much better food, ambiance....and most importantly, service.

I went to this restaurant on a Thursday night around 6pm and it was nearly emtpy. There were four waiters standing around and finally our waitress approached the table. The food was very disappointing and expensive even though they claimed it was a "HAPPY HOUR" menu. Honestly, I think 75% of their patrons can make better Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine. I would not recommend this place. Save your money or if you are really craving Mediterranean cuisine go to Cava,Zaytinya, Cafe Divan, anywhere but here.

We have gone to the location in Dupont Circle and loved it. This however, was our 2nd less than pleasant experience. There will not be a 3rd. The service is awful (waited 10mins before even being given water) and the food was mediocre. Was fairly annoyed by the small $7.95 appetizer caesar salad that consisted of just lettuce and a meager amount of dressing- no cheese or croutons.. The manager did not control (or ask the parent to control) the group of screaming kids on the ourdoor patio. This was distracting to diners trying to enjoy their dinner.

My step-mother had been raving about this place so we decided to take the whole family here for a holiday dinner. When we arrived we discovered that our reservation had been lost, the hostess apologized and said the guy taking reservations may have "thrown away the paper." The restaurant was full so we had to decide on whether to wait for a table or go to another restaurant. In the end we decided to stay. My step-mother only orders one thing on the menu and that's the Lamb Shish. The rest of us got the Chicken Shish, Pizza, Caesar salad with prawns and Chicken salad. Step-mom was happy with the Lamb but the rest of us thought our dishes were just OK. Mine in particular was served with what looked and tasted like instant rice.

I would give 4 stars for the food but 1 star for service. I've been here three times but only stayed for the food twice. The service is really spotty, my husband and I waited for over 10 minutes for our server to greet us and we decided to leave instead of dealing with such laziness. However, everything I've tasted there has been delicious! I loved their huevos rancheros, the eggs Benedict, their pides, and their bloody Mary was surprisingly tasty. I would love to try everything on their menu but may have to rely on take out to avoid the awful service.

My friend and I visited this nice little quaint restaurant to enjoy some appetizers and a few glasses of wine. We ordered a bottle of Sangiovese (very nice red by the way), along with the Spinach Kobet, Shrimp Med, and Calamari. The calamari was my favorite, it was sauteed in a delightful tomato and spinach based sauce topped with walnuts. The Spinach Kobet (similar to Greek spanakopita) was tasty but nothing extraordinary. The shrimp Med was delicious, very similar to a shrimp scampi dish. Our waitress was extremely helpful in recommending items from the menu, she was both pleasant and attentive. My friend and I will be back to enjoy this neighborhood restaurant. I prefer this small laid back restaurant rather that and Outback Steakhouse or Applebee's on a rainy Monday night.

I love this place! The bread with the olive tapenade and olive oil they bring out at the beginning is heavenly, and I highly recommend the lahmajun (Turkish pizza) -- perfectly spiced lamb and perfectly cooked dough. The spinach borek is also AMAZING, as are the spinach ravioli and the three-cheese agnolotti. Ask for the tomato-cream sauce if you get pasta, it's out of this world. Their cosmos are really strong, just one knocked me on my ass!

I would love to rate this restaurant higher but there are a few really good things and then many more not so good. First the good: daily soups are generally very good although not always a lot of difference in the flavor, the Rosemary's Chicken Salad is usually quite good, the bread and tapenade are good, several pastas are qute good and the kebabs are good, the Turkish beans are very good. Now the bad: service is frequently indifferent and slow even when they are empty. Food sometimes arrives cold as servers are chatting with patrons or amongst themselves. Soups are very overpriced given they are always a vegetable soup. The rollas are incredibly skimpy on the meat, especilally the lamb doner, it was packed full of Romaine and a small handful of meat. I am not someone who needs a ton of meat but this was ridiculous. I had a pide that had roasted garlic on it, and it was not roasted, it was just huge hunks of raw garlic, and when I complained the server actually argued with me! I wish this place was better as it is homey and cozy and there are a number of really tasty items, I would eat here a lot more than I do.

I really like going to this place. I have been several times. There was one time that I think they were having a bad night...service wasn't great and the pasta dish I ordered was not so great...but all the other times...totally yummy and satisfied. I love that it is a local place, has some different options for food, and while it seems to be getting more and more popular, there is never much of a wait. Good food, relaxing atmosphere and close to home. Check it out.
