What's your idea of Paradise? Utopia? Perfection? You certainly won't find it in the Paradise Salmon dish. My first time here, I wasn't impressed with the food. But their staff waa friendly and the decor exudes a quiet sophistication. Their bartender was great and talkative, perfect bartender. My second time here, I was very impressed. Impressed that a place that charges $16 for a dry over-cooked something (that maybe could as salmon in a chinese restaurant) qnd have the nerve to call it a Paradise Salmon. The dish was supposed to have a mango salsa with cilantro and mandarins. I had one drop of Mango salsa, one piece of cilantro, and a plethora of mandarins. When I asked for the dish to be spicy, I was told it was absolutely possible. What I got was dried red peppers like the ones you get from a red pepper packet at Pizza Hut sprinkled on top of my salmon. Man, if I had known that that red pepper was so expensive, I would have hoarded the packets I got from Pizza Hut. The mandarins did not go well with the dry crusty over-cooked and flavorless piece of salmon. I pushed it to the side and ate it for dessert. The only thing Made in Asia gave a hefty serving of was the brown rice that comes with the dish. Again, the consistency of the quality of the food was amazing- dry, unappetizing. I eat brown rice from a rice cooker from home every night. I know how it should taste. Thank god the Mandarins weren't dry. Over-priced, over-cooked. I suppose I should have known better than to depend on an Asian place to cook a salmon properly, but at $16 a pop, I figured these chefs MUST know what they're doing. Give me the $16 back. I'll go get my own salmon and cook it. All that said, the wait staff is still very friendly, calling out to you even as you leave fo you to have a great day. For that, I give it 2 stars. Thank god for the wait-staff.

Glorious food. Tempura fried maki rolls & delicious special rolls. The 3 special roll combo is a great deal!

I love this place. Fantastic sushi and excellent service. The food is served quickly and the prices are good. The passion rolls are to die for!

Got the sushi love meal with spicy tuna, spicy salmon and a variety of nigiri. Pretty darn good sushi. The spicy tuna was covered in this spicy sauce that was delicious. Overall, a fine sushi experience.

This sushi is excellent. Delicious food. I've had the calamari as well and loved it. Kids eat very well there too.

It was my first time having dinner at this place, I had the shrimp tempura & TomKha soup. There was nothing that 'wow' me about it, however it tasted good!

The food and sushi are good- even for take out. Love the chesterfield roll. Drinks are slightly overpriced. Service is decent but I'm not impressed with management at all. The encounters I've had with management have left me with a bad taste in my mouth, they were rude and seemed annoyed that I had questions. They have some nice outdoor seating in the back. I go back for the sushi.

The sushi is great but they are wayyyyyyyyy under staffed! Just a couple of the issues tonite were, drinks taking close to 15 mins in between, bartender looked visibly distraught and then no toilet paper in the women's bathroom as I found by listening to the table of 8 women next to us... All the while the owner/manager(I would assume) is just walking around looking cool instead of helping his staff keep the patrons happy!! So the 3 stars is for the sushi and the sushi alone because the service was sub par tonite!!

Ordered carryout tonight consisting of pad ped with chicken and panang curry with shrimp. The pad ped was messy with the eggplant cooked to mush. The chicken and vegetables looked like they were hacked up in a fit of anger. The panang had a sauce that was more like a chunky gravy than the delicate sauce I'm used to. Definitely a strike against going back.

The food was great so this review should end there. Unfortunately when trying to use a Living Social deal the wheels went off the cart. I specifically asked the hostess when seated if the voucher applied to happy hour food specials and she informed me that alcohol was not covered, which is clearly specified in the deal but she thought everything else was covered-unlike a lot of folks, I usually take the time to read the fine print. The food was not covered and the manager begrudgingly and sarcastically apologized saying that the "System" would not allow her to change it. Her attitude was defensive and uncaring (reiterated the happy hour exclusion, which we told her we asked about specifically). I don't blame the hostess, she was new, but the manager really didn't work very hard to correct or handle this situation. It's unfortunate because I've eaten there plenty without the use of discounts, but now I will get my Living Social voucher refunded and probably won't be back there for a long time. Summary: Food=Good. Management=Needs attention.

From the rolls, to the lettuce wraps, to the beer, to the staff and owners, Made in Asia never disappoints. My solid "go-to" and my wife loves it just as much as I do. Do YOURSELF a solid and go check it out!

  • Rod W.

Rude, snooty staff. Refused to seat us where we wanted, even though the table was empty. Waited over 20 minutes to be seated where 'they' wanted us to sit. We were going to leave and were quickly told we would wait just as long anywhere else we went. Probably true, but next time we go out for dinner, this is one restaurant that won't be getting our business. The food is good, but the attitude they can have. My beer was served in a 22oz PLASTIC glass. The bar itself appears to be plastic as well, so maybe there's a connection. For the prices they charge, there should be real glasses. Way too many other local places on Hull to eat at, with owners who appreciate you being there and not acting like their doing 'you' the favor.

This little gem in Midlothian is definitely a place I'll be going back to in a regular basis. I went there last night with my friend and we both loved it! When I first saw the place from the outside I was a bit skeptical. It's nested between a Taekwondo place and Johnny Rockets and the front does *not* do the place justice. So, after driving a bit further out than I had anticipated and seeing the front, I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and stood in the front of a classy, modern restaurant. The decor for this place was very calming and the low lighting added to the intimate feeling. I arrived before my friend so after taking in the initial "wow" I sat down at the bar for a drink. The bar tender, while being very busy, was able to give me drink/beer menu's (yes, plural) and give me a run down of the specials. I ordered a simple glass of white wine and was on my way to a blissful night of eating. A few sips later my friend showed up. Our waiter, Trevor, was the perfect amount of attentive. He was there when we needed him but didn't interrupt us at awkward moments (you know... those moments when servers ask you "how's the food?" right after you just shoved a bite into your mouth? Yeah, that didn't happen here). He was quick and and polite and had a wonderful attitude. Side note: he kind of looked like Charlie from Lost which was pretty awesome. Now, on to the food! We started off with an order of the fresh rolls and the shrimp tempura. The fresh rolls were good, nothing really to write home about but definitely had a good flavor. The shrimp tempura was excellent. The batter had a sweet taste to it and the sauce was paired perfectly. For our main course we had an order of the Yellowfish roll and the Bang Bang Shrimp. The sushi roll, although simple, tasted wonderful. The fish was fresh and I was able to see the sushi chef make it right in front of me. My friends shrimp plate was beautifully presented on a bed of greens and some little white, crunchy things (I don't know what those are but they are fun to eat). The shrimp was cooked to perfection and the sauce had the perfect amount of "bang". We both decided that we needed a dessert and asked Trevor for a menu. While giving us the menu he suggested that we try the tempura fried, red velvet cake. After a few intense seconds of consideration, we both agreed that this dish *had* to be tried. OH MY GOSH! This dish is the absolute BEST dessert I've had in a very, very long time. I don't know why or how, but the cake both exploded and melted in your mouth. The flavor from this was beyond words. I would honestly go back just for this dessert. After basically inhaling the little slice of heaven, the bar tender came by and said hi and recommended that we come back again for the cheesecake version of this dish. I intend to try it... very soon. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. I would absolutely go back and I hope everyone has a wonderful experience here. Pro Tip: if you check in on Yelp, you get a free dessert.

This is one of my family's favorite restaurants! All of their food and delicious and their sushi is the best and most fresh in town! Service can be a bit slow but I look at it as more time to spend with the people you are with! I never leave this place unsatisfied. Also, their fried rice is simply the best I have ever had... I am not sure what they do to it but it is amazing!

I've really enjoyed my meals from Made in Asia. Their Five-Spice Calamari is one of the best Calamari appetizers I've ever had, and their sushi is very good as well. They are not as good at take-out orders, as every time we've ordered takeout something has been wrong. Once, my husband's entree was replaced with something else entirely, and the last time we ordered (about a month ago), the fried rice that I had specifically requested as mild as possible was full of red pepper. Normally, it wouldn't be a problem, as both my husband and myself like spicy, but it was for our 5- and 9-year-olds who do not like any level of heat. Overall, a good local place, but may be better to eat in than take out.

  • Jeff G.

Food is good but the service was less than professional. We were ignored when we arrived at the bar for ten minutes. Our entre took forever but it was still good. We watched what appeared to be the manager pay more attention to the girl servers than to us as our drinks sat empty for too long. Then we were exposed to the wait staffs discussion about Midol! Nice touch. Then we got to enjoy watching the manager eat his dinner on the bar top with the bartender eating her food behind the bar too while still during serving hours. Good food but disappointed in the professionalism.

This place has amazing food! Whether you're in the mood for sushi, Thai or whatever... They have something that you'll enjoy. Service isn't really great but the food is!

Oh my. This place is phenomenal! Love the ambience, clean, super friendly staff, amazing food. It doesn't get much better. The sushi is so good and I tried the peanut curry noodles with chicken in it today and I was blown away. Try this place, you won't be sorry!

  • Kelly R.

Many have reviewed the restaurant and I agree, it's good food, nice atmosphere and service. I am a fan of the speciality roll combos, and the shrimp entree is amazing. The only thing that I haven't enjoyed was the Pad-Thai. For a party, you must get a platter! I ordered a platter and was beyond impressed for 59.99 (it was on special at the time) I recovered a few special rolls and 8 regular rolls. It was the perfect thing to serve for my dinner party. More people should look into the catering services at Made in Asia. I'm not sure that people are taking advantage of what a great deal they are!

Great flavor, huge portion & love the atmosphere. My husband and I came here for lunch and we were a little scared at first because the interior was really fancy looking and we were dressed for shopping. We sat down and the server was friendly and brought us menus and drinks right away. We ordered crab Rangoon for appetizer, it was delicious. I ordered Pad Thai & my husband got Drunken Noodle. We got wonton soup with our order and it was very flavorful. Some places just give you broth with some wontons, this soup had a hint of spicy and was really great being it was freezing outside! The portion size of my pad Thai was huge! I had enough to take home and have lunch the next day. My husband devoured his entire plate without a sound, which is a compliment from him because he is really picky! We will definitely come back :)

I am a sushi fanatic! I have had some not so great sushi and some FANTASTIC sushi- Made in Asia was FANTASTIC!! Their sushi rolls are a bit pricey, but they aren't the usual 5-6 piece roll, you'll get more like 6-7 pieces. The fish is fresh and delicious! The wait staff is very knowledgable and able to recommend rolls based on your fish preference. Their bar is fully stocked and drinks are modestly priced. I highly recommend the Chester roll and their sashimi. I have also used their take-out service which completely exceeded my expectations of sushi take-out. I was down the street getting my hair done and ordered 2 rolls to go. The gentleman that took my order said it would be ready in 15 min. My hair appointment didn't take as long as I had guessed and I headed right to the restaurant. They were busy (it was a Friday night) so I expected a significant wait. As soon as I approached the hostess station and told them I was there for pick up they said my order was all ready to go! My mind was blown- they managed to service a restaurant full of patrons and complete my take-out order in 10 min!! The only thing I didn't care for was the "take-out surcharge". I am a very good tipper but if they're going to charge me a fee for take-out I don't feel the need to tip. Made In Asia is now my new take-out/eat-in sushi restaurant- I won't go anywhere else!

This is a great restaurant for several reasons: - Great food. Probably the best sushi around this area - Great atmosphere. A combination of good food and great service makes it a really comfortable place - We had an issue once with them in several visits. The sushi seemed to be a different recipe and we were automatically credited for the sushi. We told them they didn't even have to and they still just wanted us to know they cared

After hearing so many great things about this place, we decided to check it out. The sushi was delicious! I enjoyed the orange chicken, my husband got the triple delight but wasn't blown away by it. The time we waited for food was a little slow but maybe we were just That hungry that it felt like forever lol I would go back, try other items on the menu, maybe even during lunch time to save some $$

Food is always good but service is hit and miss. Classic tonight was - as I'm sitting there on minute 40 since I ordered - the bartender (who handles take outs) argues with me about when I ordered and gives me attitude. I ask her not to get snippy and she responds "you ordered 25 minutes ago!" I respond with showing my phone log that she's either lying or sat on my order for 15 minutes. Horrendous customer service tonight for someone whose been here 30 or more times!!!!

I have been eating at Made in Asia for a few years now. They have the best sushi that I have had in the area as well as the beatvtasting asian cuisine. I have never been disappointed at the food or the staff. Everytime I go all is perfect. This is a great place to go on a date, hang out with friends at the bar for an upscale bar experience, or bring the family. It is all around dining!

My husband and I love to come here for a quick date night without the kids. Most people would never guess this unassuming restaurant in the Walmart shopping center was so great. The atmosphere and decor are spot on. We have tried numerous sushi, appetizers, soups and rice dishes. Services varies depending on the night, who is working and how crowded it is. But the majority of the time, it is good. Will continue to visit and enjoy MIA!

My favorite thai spot. Good food. Love the staff. Great atmosphere. Ive been going here since they opened. Never had a bad experience. Best Sushi on the southside.

Love the sushi!! Best sushi in chesterfield. Also love the Fried rice, spring rolls, and cashew chicken. The dining space is a little small and posh for my taste, but the service is great and food is wonderful. This is a great place to go if you have gluten issues, they are willing to alter a dish if they can to suit your needs.

Made In Asia is a beautiful modern restaurant. The atmosphere is comfortable and on weeknights it is easy to hold a nice dinner conversation. Friday and Saturday nights the restaurant and bar area fill up making it a louder, less relaxed spot. We have dined here several times and have always been pleased with the food. I recently tried the Holly Roll, named for one of the owners, and it was delicious. Their sushi is always beautifully plated and fresh. Their fried rice is a huge portion with a generous amount of the meat of your choice. As a side note, if you chose no meat the price does not change. They have happy hour during the week with both sushi and drink specials. Good deals and a nice time to try the restaurant out. Our service has been good. Once it was great but usually it is friendly and adequate

Finally a place I can go in Chesterfield and get some massaman curry. Instead of trekking to Henrico or Richmond, I can get my potato-y, spice-y, coconut milk-y, curry fix. The tofu was cooked perfectly and I loved that I could get a side of brown rice instead of white. This dish alone deserves a 5 star in my book. I only took a star off for the sushi I got. I had the spicy salmon roll and it wasn't as spicy as I normally like, but had great texture. On a sad note: I found a scale, no big deal, just odd- that's why I didn't point it out to the server. Other than that, this is my new Thai, Asian-fusion place on this side of the river. I'm aiming to go back and try some of the small plates that caught my eye.

Tucked away in a shopping strip on hull st, stopped in for dinner and was surprised to find a classy, somewhat trendy interior. It has a mix of sushi, thai and various curries. Wife had sushi and I had the pad pek, both were very good. The only complaint I have is that my food was not hot enough, which was probably a timing issue because the wife had sushi (so the the timing of the making of the dishes was probably off). The menu is very eclectic and for the price (under 35), will be place that we will be back to.

I have been to Made in Asia several times and each time the food and service has been great. Easily my favorite restaurant in the area and one of my favorites in the Richmond area.

I went here last night. I had the Spicy Crab, Spicy Salmon, and the New York roll for $15. I would say there was nothing really different about the Spicy Salmon, since I have had it at other restaurants. It was my first time trying the New York which had cream cheese, avocado, and crabmeat in it. It was good but for me I thought it was too much cream cheese and it overpowered the roll. The restaurant itself was really nice inside and I would go definitely go back to try some other items on their menu.

Finding this place was a scavenger hunt using a mix of Yelp and Google. In fact, we only found it when I had given up and started looking for a place to eat. It was across the street and a good quarter mile from where it was pinned on Google. Glad we found it though. We entered through the back entrance, passing the restrooms along the way. The narrow corridor opened up into a subtle contemporary environment. It was pleasant and conveyed the feel of an upscale restaurant. Upon receiving our drinks, we also received chips that were typical and only served as an interlude to our appetizer, Spring Rolls. The Spring rolls, along with the duck sauce served with them were tasty, although not perfectly cooked. For our main courses, my wife had the M.I.A. Curry Fried Rice, my son chicken fried rice and I, the General Tso's Chicken. Interestingly, I've listed them in order of goodness, from least to most. The M.I.A. Curry Fried Rice, which had a nice list of ingredients, but not an equivalent flavor. On the other end of the spectrum was the General Tso's Chicken. It was very well prepared at medium intensity. With the dish, you have the choice of brown or white rice. I selected the former and was rewarded with a side that was somewhat sweet tasting and went well with the main course. We visited here on the recommendation of folks here and we weren't disappointed. The next time we're in this part of town and hankering for Chinese, we will certainly visit here again.

Made In Asia is one of those places where your experience can differ greatly, but the food is almost always spot on. Over the past few years, I've gone at least twice a month and have enjoyed everything from their Thai dishes to extensive tastings of Sushi. The curry noodles, while not very spicy (even at Thai hot), are delicious and their sushi (I mostly order Spicy Tuna and Eel Avocado) has always been delightful and fresh. The only reason I didn't give the restaurant 5 stars is the service can vary greatly. Depending on who's working, you can be delighted by the staff or wait thirty minutes for the check. Make sure to check them out for happy hour, as well.

So, on Friday night, a friend and I tried their sushi. My goodness! It was AMAZING. Fresh, innovative, fairly reasonably priced. Our waitress was phenomenal too. I still quite love their Thai dishes, and their wonton soup really is that good. This restaurant is quite easily one of my top favorite in Virginia.

  • Jennifer H.

Been here many times. Love the MIA fried rice and drunken noodles. Dumplings and Rangoon apps are delicious and half price during HH, which I think runs til 6. Food is always fresh and hot. Tip: you can get your dishes in varying heat levels--no spice, mild, medium, hot, Thai spicy. I can handle some heat, but even the mild is too much for me is I get "no spice".

  • Christina D.

This place is amazing!! It has become a tradition for my boyfriend and I to go once a month to get the Special-3 sushi combo. The Iron Man roll and the B-52 roll are the best! The only reason why I didn't give them 5 stars is because they never seem to make an Old Fashion correctly (it's one of my boyfriend's favorite drinks). Customer service has always been great for us and Made In Asia will continue to be our favorite sushi restaurant in Midlothian.

  • Deb R.

Love their sushi and Pad Thai. The service is friendly and knowledgeable. They do take reservations online but usually it is not a problem to get a table unless it is a holiday.

Small place, no special character, but the food was great. Had California and New York sushi rolls, both which were very good. Wife had Pad Thai, also very good. I had the Thai Basil Fried Rice with Chicken, which we both agreed was awesome. They also make your dish at the requested spice level, and my medium-hot was just right. We can't wait to take our grown up kids there over the holidays.

I really wish i could remember the name of our waitress here, she was really really good. the most interesting thing we tried here was the snow white roll. it's really different and yummy. the regular menu skews towards Thai, which i'm not a huge fan of, so we stuck with the sushi rolls, and they were great. the interior feels pretty romantic, it's well decorated, and it has character. great service and good food. This place gets a thumbs up from us.

Um, no. Went here today for lunch. Unfortunately I got takeout so I could not "send my food back," since it was inedible. I got a tofu/veggie dish with brown rice and it came with a small bowl of wonton soup since it was lunch time. The soup tasted like chemicals and had one wonton. The food - it had like 3 small pieces of tofu, some vegetables, and dry tasting rice- with a really horrible tasting brown sauce, it was awful. I actually spit out the first bite. I ended up being starving at work the rest of the day since all I could manage to eat was some dry brown rice. Crossing this one off the list..... Ending on a positive - the bartender/hostess was very nice when she took my order.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. Though the service could have been better the food is worth a returned visit. I came here with a group of friends for lunch, and noticed the modern chic design of the place. A lot of neutral colors almost made the place seem...cold, not my style but the place was clean so I was good to go. I love that they have a little bit of everything here with a Thai twist. The chefs are pretty accurate with your spice preference which is a huge plus considering I only wanted mild due to my condition and it was perfect. They give you healthy portions too, I ordered chicken fried rice and it was pretty awesome. A friend of mine ordered the sushi and swears it's some of the best around the area so next time I definitely have to give it a try. My only complaint is that our waitress was just terrible. She would disappear for long periods of time act frantic as if she was swamped (there was practically no one there except for us) she would forget our drinks, no refills, just seemed disorganized and stressed. From the look of it I think it was either her first time or she's just not a good waitress. Regardless of that hic-up I still very much like this place and look forward to trying their sushi next go around.

Made in Asia is one of the nicer places to eat on Hull Street Road. It's location in a strip mall belies a surprisingly nice, contemporary decor. Their curries are tasty if not horribly authentic and their sushi is tasty and reasonably priced: $4.00 - $5.50 for most rolls. My biggest gripe is that their 5% "Convenience Fee" for take out orders is a bit petty.

Seriously great food. So far I've only tried the Chinese & Japanese cuisine..but they've done a great job. Japanese: Twice, I've had the chicken & shrimp Teriyaki (carry-out). Both times the flavor has been just right; once, the meat was overcooked :( Chinese: Dined in one night and tried the General Tso's chicken. Outstanding!! The flavor was perfect; the chef allows customers to request desired level of heat; and they use white meat chicken. I've avoided this dish most of my life because it's always served with chicken leftovers, usually over-breaded, overcooked, and over-spiced or under-seasoned. This Tso's dish is absolutely delightful. Flavorful, robust, saucy without being over-sauced, YUMMMM! This Friday night hubby had the teriyaki, meat was overcooked. This may be a common problem with this particular dish. Sushi: Chesterfield roll is the BEST roll you will ever eat in your life. Obvious exaggeration, but it's soo good - fresh salmon, spicy crab, & shrimp tempura in 1 roll...WINNER! Holly roll is a good 2nd choice - shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado & ebi...YUMMM! Going back for appetizers and Thai cuisine so I can give a thorough review, but if it weren't for the overcooked meats in the teriyaki (2 out of 4 times) this would be a 5 star review.

Seeing all the great reviews, we decided to go here for lunch on Father's Day. I don't know if my expectations were too high, but the food was a mixed bag. The five spice calamari was excellent. However the Thai iced tea was pure sugar with little tea flavor. Even my teenage children could not stomach it. All four of our main dishes were also sickly sweet. Must have gotten a good deal on sugar that week. Thai dishes did not even have Thai basil. The main flavor seemed to be sugar. We got the tempura cheesecake for dessert and that was quite good. If we had just gotten appetizer and dessert this place would have gotten good reviews. But the drinks and entrees left much to be desired.

Visited this restaurant with my Meetup group and we had a great time. It's a quaint place with really good food. I had the shrimp tempura, which wasn't the typical tempura. It was really crunchy and had a sweet taste, but it was good. I also had the Pad Thai which was great also. Our server, Ryan, was very knowlegeable and accomodating. He was able to recommend drink selection and was very prompt. It was about 10 of us dining that night and everyone enjoyed their food, and stated they would return. Typically, I go the PF Changs whenever I want some Asian food, but Made In Asia may be my new place.

I have tried at least a half dozen Thai restaurants and this is the best Thai I have had in Richmond. The tom yum soup and curries are fabulous. the spring roles are light, delicate, and not too greasy. A little pricy but well worth it.

  • Keefe L.

Down here on business from Long Island. Ordered the "special 3" and the specialty rolls were mediocre at best. Perhaps I'm judging unfairly from always having sushi on Long Island and Manhattan but this sushi was edible at best. Drove 20 minutes from Midlothian for what's rated as a 4/5 star sushi establishment. It was lacking in flavor and tasted as if it had been driven here from Japan on a very slow moving unrefrigerated truck that took a slow boat ride across the Pacific. Texture was poor and flavor was lackluster at best. Frankly I'm scared for what's to come from the remainder of my evening...gastroenteritis perhaps, I hope not... I might try a place in downtown richmond next time, maybe not.

Great upscale Asian food. Tasty rangoons. No old oil taste. My General Tsos was American spicy, below the top Thai spicy level. Excellent. A bit pricey, but top quality. Inside is much nicer than you'd expect at a strip mall at Walmart.

I have been here a few times. The food is pretty good. The service is a nightmare. The bar is too high (or the stools are too low) to eat at.... The bartender has an attitude.... I'm assuming she is the owner by her bad attitude. It's worth a try.. Just don't expect to get a drink refill or your check. Also, the red wine is served above room temperature which is ridiculous obviously.

My wife purchased a living social offer for Made In Asia so it was a great excuse to try another asian restaurant (which we love). It was mid-week so it was moderately busy. It's a small and very nice looking restaurant, i can see how it would get busy on weekends..great date night to impress. Our waitress Molly was wonderful and very attentive. The meals were terrific and my highlight was actually the appetizer, we tried their crab rangoons...WOW loved them. We were served 5 large rangoons that we perfectly fried and just spewed cream cheese and crab and the plum sauce finished it off perfectly. Also had a salmon nigiri appetizer, fresh not huge but very satisfyiing. Main course wanted to try one of their extensive curry selections, Molly recommended the peanut curry which I had kicked-up a bit and selected chicken, she also told us that the shrimp version was great. Loved every bit of it, blend of creamy peanut sauce, spice and fresh vegetable and very tender chicken. My wife had the pad thai which was sweeter than she is normally used to but really enjoyed it, She said that it was even better the next day for her work lunch. Highly recommend a good date night, just get there on a mid-week if possible and enjoy!

Went on a whim not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. Dark, modern decor, tables comfortably spaced, staff extremely courteous and on point. Dinner consisted of a bowl of miso followed by an incredible Thai Basil Fried Rice w/ chicken(med spice). This rice was phenomenal- taste, spice, texture- hands down delicious! I cannot aptly describe the flavors, but I would live off of this if I could. Next came the sushi- a Holly Roll and Paradise roll. Great portion size, the plating was fun and eye catching (plating is half of the experience for me) and the taste was delicate, melt-in-your-mouth sushi. Plain, w/ soy sauce and/or w/ wasabi, the sushi was delicious and well worth the price. I will most certainly return even though it is a bit far from Richmond.

Absolutely awesome! Will be back. Tried some seasonal spring rolls with seaweed salad in them - fantastic! Then we split the 3for on the speciality rolls which were great. Hoping to catch them when the toro and uni are back in! Only drawback is the insanity of hull st and the traffic pattern of the shopping center. Bummer you didn't pick Midlo or we'd be there all the time.

Horrible. Change is management is very evident. Could not eat my food, did not get half of what I ordered. Terrible experience. Felt sorry for the waiter had no clue how to handle it.

Looked great but I never got to try it. Hostess said 45 minutes and after 1 1/2 hours I left and it looked like another 45 min at least. Other patron reported similar problems on previous visits.

After hearing great things, finally crossed the river to give it a try for a friend's birthday. Staff could have been a little more helpful and friendly, starting with the hosts who didn't even say hello when we got in, just told us to "hold on." Ambience is very cool--gorgeous decoration. But we were seated in a very dark corner that nearly put us to sleep because of an exceedingly bright overhead light that caused us to stare at each other's shadows. The food was quite good. Definitely good value for what I considered to be reasonable prices. Even the sushi prices seemed pretty good. My choice of the panang curry with potatoes and green peppers was a little heavy for the hot summer evening (it'd be nice if they adjusted to use fresh seasonal ingredients given how tasty the curry sauce was), but it was a lot of food for the price, which was surprisingly reasonable. Green peppers were way underdone; tasted like they were thrown in at the last minute. And I'd caution against the Thai Iced Tea; I have a feeling the milk had been sitting out for a while. Overally, the variety of the menu and ambience were clues as to why it's been getting great reviews, but a bit more polish and boost in customer service would go a long way to me adding another star. They were nice enough to treat my friend to a birthday dessert too. Definitely willing to try it out again and recommend to others, but it's not going on my top 10 list anytime soon.

Excellent atmosphere, food, service!! I have been here twice and both times had great experiences! I love the drunken noodles, spicy tuna roll, and crab ragoons and pad see ew! The apple salad is huge and tastey too! I met the owner the second time I ate there and she was too cute! Our group had a great conversation with her and afterwards felt even more welcomed! If you haven't tried this place yet -go now! What are you waiting for!? Unfortanerly, they do not take reservations but they will however make sure your name is close to that time you need for your party so the wait time is very minimum.

Great food and great ambiance. I have tried most of the sushi rolls and other dishes off the menu and have never eaten something I didn't like. I live down the street from this place and have to stop myself from eating there every night. I highly recommend it.

Salty, not spicy. Service was kinda salty, too. Big dissapointment, doubt I'll be wasting another meal there. Sad, because they had potential.

Some of the best tasting Asian food I have eaten outside of Asia. The flavor they pack into the meals are amazing. Been there 3 times and it is a confirmed favorite of mine.

I was very surprised by this place which otherwise looks like any old chain restaurant in a strip mall but the food here is excellent. I had spring rolls (nice texture), massaman curry (so much flavor), and coconut ice cream and it was all great. Everything is made with spicy-ness to order. The food was presented beautifully. Our server was really nice and the manager was more than hospitable. (We actually stayed past closing and no one bothered us) They also have a great wine selection. The one negative from my point of view is that the restaurant is SO FAR from downtown and it takes half an hour get there. I hope they open a branch in the woodland heights area where I live (hint, hint). Beware using Yelp for directions-- wither the Yelp address is wrong or google navigator was really off because I got lost in some crazy, dark, suburban community complex!

Best place for Asian food in the area! As a vegetarian, this restaurant provides MANY options. Most menu items provide a chose of protein including tofu, which is rare. My favorite dish is the curry peanut tofu and appetizer is tofu Todd. Absolutely delicious! The service has been excellent also whether your order takeout or dine in.

Great food but needs more professional servers. Seems each of the times I've visited something has been wrong with my order.

For the price, it's not worth it. The panang curry was not bad, however, my bf found a rock in his food. The service was excellent, so I'll give it one more star than I would have. The pad see ew was mediocre.

Best, best, beeeeest Drunken Noodles in Richmond! Everything we have had has been amazing but you need to Rey the Drunken Noodles with a Singha beer. It is heavenly!

Better than expected. Good quality sushi. Generous portions. It's a bit far from Richmond for good eats. And the place is ridiculously packed, but i guess that means they're doing good business. Another minus, from what the girls say, is that the lychee martini isn't really made with real lychees nor does it taste like a lychee.

Overall a good Asian food restaurant. Sushi is better than average. The food is good quality and quite tasty. The restaurant has a very nice decor considering its location in a strip mall.

Food is great. However the bar tender is very rude. My husband and I frequent here and always have a glass of wine...and always get under poured. For $9 a glass should get 6 oz. But we always get between a 3-4 oz serving. When I asked what oz was I paying for, I was told no definitive answer. I have heard others complaine as well. You would think they would rather keep business than short you on a couple oz of wine.

Ambiance is nice. Service is welcoming but whatever you do ... Don't order tempura. It was tasteless and soggy. They made it again but no improvement. We needed to change our sushi order since we were afraid tempura would be as bad as the appetizer.

Had dinner here today. Arrived around 5 and was seated immediately. The service staff was friendly and helpful with the menu items. I was able to get my wine at happy hour prices. The Thai Basil Shrimp was delicious. I was able to use my Yelp coupon for a free dessert. I tried the Red Velvet Tempura.. Delish! I will definitely return.

I've been here before and it wasn't so bad, this time it was. I went at lunchtime with my Husband and we split two orders; The Pad See Eww and 3 rolls of sushi. The Pad See Eww was okay, the sushi was less than fresh. The Pad See Eww only had four pieces of brocolli. We ordered spicy tuna, spicy crabmeat and Salmon Avacodo roll. We recieved Spicy salmon instead of Spicy Tuna, but when we questioned it, they assured us it was Tuna, I've eaten Tuna enough to know the difference, and it was Salmon not Tuna. The Sushi rolls were thrown together, and not tightly rolled and the spicy mayo was splattered on too much. What upset me the most was that I ordered Hot Green tea and was disappointed to see that it was just one green tea bag. When I asked for more water, they gave me just that, hot water, no more tea. When I asked for a fresh tea bag they said they would have to charge me for another. Charging someone $1.99 for a hot green tea is fine if I'm getting loose tea leaves, but when I'm getting a cheap green tea bag, I should have not been charged for a second. Our server was too prompt. As we were only one of two tables, our server must have been bored becasue he was just watching us eat, which was very disconcerning. He took my plate as I was putting my chopsticks on the last piece of sushi, and then tried to ask me how everything was as I was taking my last bite. I know they teach servers to grab the finished plates, but at least make sure I'm actually finished. Watching me and then taking the plate before I even had time to put it in my mouth was just annoying. Next time I want decent asian food and decent service, I'm going to have to head to another part of town.

I've tried this place five times before writing a poor review. Dining in is "okay" but nothing exciting, certainly can get better sushi in town. The curry is pretty good but they don't serve it with rice, at least they don't give you rice. We have ordered pick-up four times in the past and tonight was the last; the food we had ordered Thai spicy and it's barely mild and we specified rice with the curry (it's even on the receipt) and we got home and of course no rice.

The fried rice is good, but the noodles have been soggy at times. Sometimes, they use too much sauce, I think. Love their dining room though, and they present the food beautifully. Lettuce wraps were good, as was the Thai iced tea. Won ton soup is FANTASTIC! Service has been hit or miss for us, but never awful.

This is the best food in Chesterfield: light, fresh and simply delicious. The chef should be on TV, yes it's that good. The wait staff are also exceptional. Great for dates too, wonderful ambiance and gorgeous decor.
