Fun pickin' out on the patio. The patio is a different experience from the more subdued restaurant environs. I have eaten at both -- and the patio is where it's at! None of the reviews below mention the AYCE steamed blue crabs (which are ***only served on the patio***). #1 AYCE Jimmies (the big ones) were only $39 with hush puppies and some other stuff. I can only eat 4 or 5 steamed crabs (and ONLY the crabs) so I got a half dozen for $25. Spiced perfectly and served with hot sauce or butter or more Old Bay. The music was rockin' and when I told the server I was enjoying it, she came back with a complete handwritten playlist. All the wait staff do a great job of keeping the debris cleared so it doesn't get in the way of business. Drinks are cheap during happy hour out on the patio -- and one specialty is their Orange Crush (OJ, rum, triple sec, other stuff that makes it sooo yummo!) Great service, great food, great music, great drinks, friendly customers at nearby tables....what's not to like? Secret tip: Go early to get a parking space / seat -- and to take advantage of happy hour prices.

The country fried steak was not good at all. The crab cake sandwhich was amazing but the sweet potato fries were over cooked. Crabs were good in bulk. Also the watermelon and grapefruit crush were good. They also sell not your fathers root beer along with Coney Island root beer. Also to note there are NO changing tables in either bathrooms so we will not be coming back while our son is still in diapers

Check out their all you can eat crab night. Clay casinos were more like loaded potatoes, not my favorite, but not bad either.. Fresh seafood and mich better than Captain D's ir Long John Silvers.

My family and in-laws dined at Wicker's on 23-august based on Yelp reviews. - we were easily able to make a reservation for 10, 40 mins before arriving on a Saturday night - received excellent service from the aunt of the proprietor who made helpful recommendations for our selections - we sat inside, although the patio had a lively band and would've been our choice if not for the kids You must eat crab here. Getting anything else is a waste of a visit. Food highlights included: - she crab soup - soft crab dinner/ meal - crab cake meal (I'd recommend getting only 1 crab cake vs 2, unless you want to finish the other for dinner the next night, like I did) - made to order hush puppies (these were a big hit with the family) My wife picked up a banana pudding desert to go, but it wasn't anything to rave about. I highly recommend a lunch or dinner when in the VA Beach area. Be aware, the food takes a bit longer to be prepared because everything is made to order. However, I view that as a plus.

I was so excited to go to Wicker's with a group of my friends (8 of us to be exact)because I've heard the food was delicious. First of all, I made the mistake of not reserving a table because we were told the wait was 45-60 minutes as soon as we walked in the door. Then a minute later, the hostess offered us a high top in the patio room, so we graciously accepted. Our server was pretty quick and efficient in getting our drink and food orders. I definitely recommend getting the orange crush because it went deliciously with the seafood. My boyfriend and I ordered the crab dip and 1/2 dozen raw oysters as our appetizer. The oysters were very delicious and served with cocktail sauce and some lemon. The crab dip was delicious! It was melted with just enough cheese and paired with pita bread. For my entree, I was torn between the po'boy and wraps, so I ended up ordering the shrimp wrap with a size of baked potato with crab meat. I really liked the flavoring of everything on the shrimp wrap. I would compare it to a fish taco (except with shrimp of course) wrapped tightly so you don't spill everything. The baked potato fillings were so yummy! The crab meat definitely hit the spot. My boyfriend's lump crabcake sandwich was good, but nothing to differentiate on any other crabcake sandwich I've had. I really liked the chips they served with the old bay seasoning. Overall, I really enjoyed the food at this restaurant. So now comes the part as to why I chose to give this restaurant only 2 stars. Like several other Yelp reviewers, I was not impressed with the service. My friend received the wrong order, and the server insisted that she would be able to get the order in right away. Fast forward to another 20 minutes later, still no food. My friend ended up cancelling the order, and the server did offer something on the house, but it was way too late for that. I understand that it was busy, but it shouldn't take that long to fix a plate of nachos. It's such a shame this place has decent food because the staff definitely hindered my probability of coming back here.

I came here the other day for the first time with a good friend. I thought the location was a bit odd for a seafood restaurant.... but ok. When I came in I was informed that there was no lemonade or ice tea that day, so I ordered a Diet Coke. I also got the jambalaya soup. It wasn't terrible, but there just wasn't much to it and the fast was ok. The service was nice and attentive. I really did enjoy my time with my friend and they didn't kick us out even though we stayed talking past their closing time.

Looking for a crab cake that's more crab then cake? Find it at Wicker's Crab Pot. The crab balls are perfectly deep fried lumps of pure, fresh crab meat with just enough stuffing to hold it together. Oysters on the half shell are delicious and huge. The shrimp boat was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The fresh crab cake came with pure crab and zero filling with a tangy chipotle sauce. Delicious! Great waitress : very personable, quick, and knowledgible.

Best lunch ever. The she crab soup was amazing, buffalo shrimp was tasty and unique, the oysters fresh, and the crab cake sandwich cooked to perfection! Would recommend this place to anyone coming to town. The wait staff was attentive, sweet, and accommodating. Definitely going back!

This is a place you go when you want to eat a bunch of crabs and drink a bunch of liquor and just let loose and have fun! We got here kind of late and the server, Lauren was amazing! We started off with the she crab soup which was filled with crab, it was delicious and a great dip for the hush puppies. The soup freaked me out a little with the ingredients of female crabs and roe but once you overlook that you will never eat new england clam chowder again! Then we all ordered sandwiches topped with crab cakes, mine was the blackened chicken and my friends over the crab sandwich. They were all good, very solid bar food! For drinks I would stick to beer but if you wanna go a little crazy, order the rum runner which I think has like 10 different liquor varieties all mixer into one drink and well it takes you right back to college with your first sip. This is a great place to hang out when in Norfolk!

Pretty decent food. Ordered the Crab and Shrimp pot. What the heck is up with Virginia and non deveined shrimp?!?!?! I can't.... 50% of my shrimp still had the boo boo strip :(. So I only ate 25% because I already worked today! The crap was great! Juicy, sweet and cooked perfectly. We also ordered She Crab soup and crap dip..... Same dish lol!! Not enough menu options. Service was good. Oh oh.... They gave us a pack of baby wipes at the end of the meal....real baby wipes... With the baby on the pack lol!!

I was in Virginia Beach on Vacation and wanted really good seafood. I hit the jackpot. The crab dip is awesome and Im a seafood snob. The all you can est crabs were delish and the drinks were good. The customer service was awesome which I value. I cant remember our waitress name but she was super nice. If you are a seafood lover definitely dine here.

We did not care for the she crab soup at all. We were told it was their signature dish. It was very bland and the crab had a lot of shell in it. They were not cleaned well at all. The butterflies shrimp had too much salted spice on them. The crab dip was good but lacked crab. Sara our waitress was very nice and did a very fine job. The food just lacks goodness. Very disappointed.

There were 4 of us here and we had the tuna tacos, the pot pie and fried shrimp and we all loved. Hush Puppies come as an appetizer along with all of our meals. The cole slaw is fine. The pot pie tasted really good but the crust was not flaky - had to cut it with a knife. But I have a feeling that it was a fluke. And still worth it.

I came here on a Friday evening during the off season and had a great meal with a friend. We went around 6:30-7pm on a Friday and had no wait for a table in the dining room. The outside patio was very lively with music and lots of people. It seemed like a great time, but we were wanting something a little more quiet so we could catch up. It is pretty small inside, but I didn't feel like I was sitting on top of the table next to me. Our server was very friendly and made some recommendations for us when we said it was our first time. We both got drinks from the bar. They came in mason jars which was a fun touch. I think it had to do with the brand of whisky that was in the drinks. The drinks were tasty, not very strong. About what you would expect from a corporate restaurant. I kept it simple and got the crab legs and a baked potato. They were very good! Cooked well and they didn't flake apart inside the shell. My friend got the crab and butter, also very good! We didn't have room for dessert on this trip. We will definitely come back.

Excellent She Crab soup and side of Crab cake! Best crab cake I've had. The soup was creamy and I found out they catch all their own crab! I'd definitely come here again. Quaint and cozy atmosphere also.

After our visit last weekend, I felt an update was needed. The staff was great, very personable (even those that weren't our server) and on top of their game. The food was great. My husband and I split 1/2 dozen raw oysters to begin, pretty good. They brought us out a basket of hush puppies which didn't last long. I ordered the tuna tacos and my husband the shrimp wrap. We both enjoyed our dinners. The outdoor area is now updated with tables outside and even a place to play cornhole.

Hostess was our waitress. She knew nothing of anything. Longest wait for the smallest overpriced dinner. It'd dirty, it's crowded and loud. Wanted to leave but expected great things and only got over cooked corn on the cob and small amount of crab. Will never go back again.

Had dinner at Wickers. It was a great local place for seafood with some touches of old family recipes. Its the kind of place every tourist wants to visit. Classic without a tourist trap feel. Wish it had a view. Staff were friendly and helpful navigating the place, the menu and of course the crabs. We split alot of things to maximize the menu. Crab balls...ask for Chipotle ranch it was perfect, deviled crab and she crab soup man the crab was so sweet. Had the shrimp po boy with corn. Perfect. Crispy shrimp and perfectly done sweet corn. We finished with the experience of cracking crabs. Very messy but a great local experience . Great meal, highly recommend you visit.

This place is amazing!!!! Would 100% recommend. Visited on vacation and even tho the over all score is low (no clue why?!?!) we decided to go because the pictures looked exactly what we wanted! First walked into the dinning room thinking we had to go there to be seated on the patio as well, much more stuffy inside that's for sure. Sit on the patio! They had fans going so we where not hot and a live band! It was amazing. We had the buffalo chicken dip for an app (yum!) I had the shrimp and crab legs boil and bf had a cheese burger said it very very good for a seafood place. All our food was too notch. Service was great, she never let our drinks go down to far. Only thing- the tea was not sweet enough. We will deff be back next time! Also- everyone seemed to be eating blue crab which looked like a blast! Will have to give that a try too.

Could be better. For the food I ordered I didn't expect to finish it, I wanted to take it home for lunch the next day... But it wasn't worth the price. I was disappointed. She crab soup was real good though.

Been going here for years and it's always consistent with great food and seafood...Best she crab ever! I love their homemade chips with ranch seasoning, that's part of their side dishes. Came on a Friday night and it was packed! We just beat the rush when we came in. Waitress said it was a 3 hour wait that's because the restaurant is small! Only 55 seatings inside. So when you come it's all about timing. Since it was still winter and very cold outside, the inside was cold as well! customers was eating with their coats on! Dang Wickers can we have some heat?!

I went here for a family dinner on a Wednesday evening. Seating was fast. The waitress was on top of things, our drinks were never empty and she checked on us just enough. I had the she-crab soup which was very creamy (not as much crab as I would have liked though!!) my Mom would've preferred a little more sherry in hers. However, the crab legs were OMGoodness scrumptious. Definitely fresh, the meat fell right out. Had it with mac-n-cheese & a salad. Definitely will be going back!!!

I got my wisdom teeth removed the day before I came here and I was jonesing for something other than chicken broth that my mouth could handle. I read some reviews here and saw that the She Crab Soup came highly recommended. The building looks like an old beat down converted house and honestly if I was just driving by looking for food, I would not stop here. The inside looks old...really old...I ordered the baked devil crab and a big bowl of She Crab Soup. The soup is FILLING and delicious. They do not skimp on the crab and you can definitely tell it's homemade. Amazing soup. The baked devil crab was fantastic. I wish I ordered more because it was a small order but I was unsure if I would like it. Well, I did. it was great. The service was very nice and welcoming. The atmosphere reminds me of coming to someone's house...it looks like a local stop and I like it. I'll definitely be back to try their Steam Pot when my mouth is all healed up.

We Yelped this place and drove almost an hour to get their. When we arrived at Wicker's Crab Pot we were greeted and sat inside. We ordered our drinks and some oyster rockefellers. Then when my wife ordered blue crab we were advised that we could not eat blue crab in the restaurant because it makes a mess? It's an old place with very old carpet. Our hostess advised us nicely that the option was eat in the patio bar with live music about 2 to 3 volume notches to loud or eat outside in the smoking area. Because it was late we decided ear busting music was better then smelling smokers. They poured my beer in a plastic cup because glass wasn't allowed in the bar and we moved to the patio bar and sat down. I asked the waitress if the sound board could be 2 notches less and she came back and said that management said it was the level they want. We ordered, my wife ordered blue crab, my son soft shell crab, my daughter crab cakes, and me fried flounder with crab stuffed baked potato. While waiting for our dinner a very heavy set lady at the bar next to our table with a group of her friends was approached by a very dirty drunk tattooed skinny guy and he started cursing at her I immediately went into protective mode for my wife and kids. I was very uncomfortable but this did explain why they don't allow glass in the area. Whatever the argument was it ended with the dirty guy kissing the heavy girl. Now for the food. Oyster Rock's were not good at all, basically frozen spinach, and Mexican cheese melted almost over an oyster an IHop could do better. The blue crab came out cold, my flounder was great but the backed potato was half cooked. My sons soft shell crab was a sponge of old oil. My daughter who is 10 received her crab cakes and took 2 small bites and would not eat anymore. When my wife asked to taste the crab cake she found the crab cakes were deep fried and basically oil sponges. The waitress came by at the end and my wife told her the crab cakes didn't work out. Their was a little more then 1 and 2/3rds cakes left on the plate. The waitress then let us know that they can be cooked 2 different ways. Pan fried (which everyone knows) and deep fried. She never asked us how we would like it which is very weird to here after the fact. NOW its going to get even stranger. The waitress walks over to the heavy set girl and has a conference with her regarding our crab cakes. Then returns to us and tells us that the manager is going to charge us for half the crab cakes since one of the cakes have been partially eaten. SO I ask for the uneaten portion to be returned since they are going to charge me for it. They refused to return the uneaten portion. That's when the whole picture came together. The heavy set girl and all her friends hangout, drink, smoke and make their parents business their personal privet club. If you eat their your not at a professionally run establishment and will be exposed to poor food prepared with no care and an atmosphere that prison convicts would be better suited for. On the way out we noticed a sign advertising they sell crab for food stamps (ebt) I wish I would have noticed this on the way in.

I've eaten me a lot of hush puppies and onion rings in my time, but I tell you Wicker's has got them figured out. Arguably some of the best I've ever had. We actually went because a friend said it was the best She Crab Soup, but of course, it failed to live up to *that* claim. That's not to say it wasn't good, just I've had some that has been more to my taste. It's worth a cup though. What I love about Wicker's is when you arrive you see all the crab cages in the back and people out there diligently cleaning them from the days catch. Ambiance inside was, well, homey, since, it was a home. But seriously, they had on Nick Toons on the TV which was seriously a little strange! That being said, I did chuckle a few times at the gigantic purple creature thing that was on the TV. For my meal I went with the boat, hush puppies, onion rings and scallops. To be 100% honest, I was a little disapointed by the scallops, hence the 4 stars, but the other items lived up to and exceeded my expectations. Staff was perky, attentive and bright, always a plus on a lunch break from work. Overall, Wicker's is good, I'm certainly a fan and would go back.

I (Char) found this restaurant on Yelp. The best fried oysters, fried shrimp and hushpuppies since my childhood in Georgia. And my husband's crab cake was all crab/no filler. As good as the food was our hostess/waitress, Debbie, who told us all about Wicker's. how it carries on her family history. She is a treasure, the perfect person for the job, so warm and friendly. We're surely going to go there again when in the Norfolk/Chesapeake area.

We walked in and waited without anyone acknowledging that we were even there. We waited as we saw waitresses and people behind the bar continue on like we were not even standing there. I was beginning to think we were supposed to seat ourselves, and walked to the small bar and asked a lady if we were supposed to seat ourselves, she told me no, and someone would be with us in a little while. I walked back over to my family and waited. I saw a girl wiping a table off, and thought for sure she was getting it ready for us...wrong! We stood there looking at that table, and other free tables and wondered why we were still left to wait. I have to remind you, NOT one person said ANYTHING.....I couldn't believe they didn't even say, "Hi". We decided that they must now want our business and left.

Came on Saturday during a rush. Sat at bar, outside area. Waitress was attentive. Tried the crab dip that was recommended. Needs more crab.. main course was steak and cake. It's only a 6oz steak but they cut it thicker so medium rare like I asked. Crab cake was great. Prices are a tab high but I'm pleased with it. Will bring my family here anytime. Saturday $2 yuengling also

A friend of mine and I were going to stop and have a couple of crabs before we made our way to Richmond for a photo shoot. We walk in to the inside and sit down. The waitress comes to our table and we attempt to order fried crabs. She tells us that they don't allow people to eat fried crabs inside the restaurant because they are "too messy".. Last time I checked all crabs were messy. Well we went to the window to order our messy fried crabs. When they called our order. I wasn't impressed, the batter had no flavor and they were over cooked. Won't be going there anymore.

Great atmosphere and the service was amazing. Asks for Megan!! The She Crab soup is a must and the seafood was so fresh. The enclosed patio was very relaxing with a great local vibe!! Great menu selection to choose from and very reasonably priced. Megan explained everything to us and even gave us a lil history of the place. I was traveling for business and would definitely return again!! I highly recommend this place for a nice relaxing meal in a laid back atmosphere!!

Everything you want in a seafood restaurant - authentic handmade Crabcakes, fabulous hush puppies, garlic crab appetizer, fresh oysters. Finish it off with homemade carrot cake with made from scratch cream cheese icing (hint- ask for it to be warmed!). Special Sour Patch Kid Wickertini was great! Eat here if you visit Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. Don't miss this place! Debbie was a great waitress and gave us super recommendations.

Being an out-of-towner, we were told this was a good place to get seafood. It is not near the coast, so the prices looked good. However, we were hoping to sit our group of 15 on the patio, but were unable to after a large group sitting outside decided to stay longer at their table. This was a strange business decision to me and my friends since we were ready to sit, eat, and drink lots. The other group was taking up space. Inside it was difficult fir them to get tables together for our 8:45 pm reservation. They eventually sat us and we ate and drank lots. It appears inside menu is more expensive than the outside patio menu (bar vs. dining room?). Portions are not as bountiful as the price might suggest. Our server was decent, and the crab was a little better than decent. I would give a higher rating to this establishment if they could have accommodated us on the patio and if their portions were larger. Not sure if there's another seafood joint in the area, but I would investigate further.

I was excited to eat here. I had the crab cake sandwich and the crab Mac and cheese. The sandwich was okay but dry and the presentation was very ordinary. The crab Mac and cheese was delightful. It was really good. I've had their steamed crabs before. I bought a half dozen to put inside my gumbo and they were okay. Coming from Louisiana, they were just okay. They'll do. But they can't hold a candle to the crab boilers back home. I'd go back someday but not in the near future.

Terrible food. Way over priced. You're better off at long John silvers. Crappy beer for 6$? I had the scallops. Absolutely nothing special! Plus my fries were soggy. Yuck. The only thing I finished was the salad, if that says anything.

I really wanted some crab claws on this trip to VA, so we were directed to Wickers. It did not disappoint! We were able to get a tons of crab claws at a cheap price and some fried crabs. The disappointment was fried crabs are only sold at the to-go window so we ended up having to take our food back to the hotel. By the time stopped for something to drink, our food was lukewarm. Still, the claws were amazing! (My husband said they were on the dry side, but I had fun eating them eating them anyway.) The seasoning was plentiful and a bit on the spicy side. The fried crab was only so-so. I would definitely go back to try some of their other dishes.

I called in to order 1/2 dozen of steamed & 1/2 dozen of fried. The lady said "we don't do fried over the phone" To which I replied, well give me a dozen steamed. When I arrived, the order was a dozen fried. When I explained what happened, confirming with my friend who heard the entire conversation; not only did they refuse to make the steamed, we had to pay for the fried. Atop that! The fried crabs were disgusting. **POINT: THEIR CRABS & SERVICE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!***********

WICKER'S CRAB POT SEAFOOD visited twice for lunch. I was at work famished and looking for somewhere new to have lunch, preferably not a chain. I looked up the menu online, printed it out and highlighted six or seven items I wanted to try so I knew I'd be making more than one trip. FIRST VISIT: I walked up and saw a lady sitting outside on a bench at an order window. I asked her a few questions about the food and then placed an order once the guy was ready for me. I saw the enclosed-patio seating and the area was completely dark and all of the chairs were upside down on the table. So I was thinking they were closed or only open for takeout orders...it just wasn't clear to me at all having never been here. It was blazing hot outside 90s and there isn't anywhere to wait in the shade. I eventually saw [people walking around the other side of the building and I followed them up a ramp into the chilled indoor restaurant. I sat there for a while in the coolness perusing the full menu and chatted with an older lady about how much she loves having lunch dates there with her friend because she is a seafood lover. Thinking my food order was ready I went back to the window, it wasn't. I waited 20 minutes for my lunch and they did apologize for the long wait. The Crab Balls were deep fried puffs of deliciousness YUMMM. At $8 I had hoped for more than six hushpuppy size balls but I do understand that seafood isn't cheap. The southwest egg rolls were also good, crispy with a good kick. Second visit I wised up and called in my order of seafood macaroni and cheese and sweet baby rays wings. I was unimpressed with the wings. For future visits I will stick to the seafood, I trust I will enjoy those dishes. I'm looking forward to my next visit. You can call ahead and pick your order outside. You can eat in. They also have patio dining.

We came here with my brother while visiting him in Chesapeake. He lives there and hadn't been here before. I liked the menu and the reviews so we tried it out for lunch. We sat on the patio. It wasn't as hot as you'd expect...the fans were cooling enough. A few flies here and there but nothing too bad. We ordered a bunch of different things to try. Here's the list: She Crab Soup: Holy moly this was the BEST thing here. It was so good. I wished I had ordered a bowl instead of a cup. I was even considering getting some to go. This is one thing not to be missed. Clam chowder: Excellent but not nearly as great as the crab soup. Steamed clams: Very good. Came with melted butter. Snow crab legs: Really good also. However, they don't give you anything to open them except for a mallot thing that doesn't work so well. Really they should provide you something to make the opening process easier. Shrimp lunch boat: Fried shrimp with hushpuppies. I loved the hushpuppies. The shrimp was ok. I didn't realize it would also be fried but then again I didn't ask so it's my fault. It was a little weird because everything just came out whenever it was ready. So we got the fried shrimp first, then the soups, then the crab and all at separate times. I'd definitely come back. I felt the prices were reasonable. Also they have takeout and a steampot which I'd try if we were staying in the area with my brother.

Thanks fellow Yelpers for recommending this place! I had my first cup of She Crab Soup here and it was wonderful! Read a lot of reviews for other places that said the soup at other places is often as thick as dip...not the case here! Is was creamy and had a perfect consistency that was slightly above a standard chowder and loaded with lump crap meat! The waitress recommended the flounder dinner with Crab Cake. Awesome choice! I had it broiled, and it was perfectly cook! The crab cake escapes words as there was NO filler and it was simply outstanding! The hushpuppies were so good I wanted to order extra yo take home!!! If there was a short spot, it was the mac-n-cheese. They use shells vice elbow mac which i actually prefer, however the flavor was just good, not great. So this place still warrants 5-stars for its overall execution, taste, presentation, and volume of food! I will be back!!!! Side note: this place is crazy busy, yet the wait staff still manages to be extremely efficient and provide service with a smile!

This is the second time I've been here and it comes with a mixed review. First off, don't expect this to be a lavish place. It's a pretty worn down place but fortunately, their food is really good which is why I came back on this business trip. Last time I got the crab cakes (which were AMAZING). So this time I figured I'd try something different. I started with the cup of she crab soup. I had it last time so I knew it would be good. Unfortunately, it came out with my meal. That cost them a star. For my main course I ordered the broiled scallops. It came with a side and since I'm trying to be good, I got it with broccoli. Bad idea. It was overlooked and the ends were dirty. The scallops were a little overlooked and very salty. That cost them another star. The best parts of my meal were the service by my waitress. Despite not bringing my soup first, she was nice and brought me exactly 3 hush puppies (they're so good but it had to resist!) As you can see from my review, it isn't going to take much for Wicker's to earn those 2 extra stars. More timely courses and making dishes a little better. Last time was a better experience. Keep making those hush puppies, she crab soup, and the best crab cakes I've ever had, and I'll be back next trip. Just work on the above issues, that's all I ask!

they tend to run out of food sometimes but I think it's just because they have the best seafood in that area. the crab cakes are actually crab meat & so is that she crab soup. amazing! oh & can't forget the hush puppies. bomb!

Took my family here this last weekend, and It was definitely a good choice. Their service was quick and friendly. The food was fantastic and well portioned, and maybe most importantly their drinks were well made. Next time I'm in the mood for seafood I'll be going back.

Wicker's has the best steam crabs in the area...bar none! Great atmosphere and just a great place to get your crab on!!

I am from NY visiting VA and I stumbled on this place when I typed in seafood on Google maps. I read the reviews and decided to try it. I did call ahead for reservations I had a party of 14. Immediately when I walked in the door I was greeted by Sarah who was also our server. She was nice, pleasant and hospitable considering it was kinda late and we had a couple of sleepy children with us Sarah was very accommodating! The hush puppies were to die for!!!! I'm not a fan of hush puppies at all but these came out hot and buttery and she keep them coming. My food was also good. I had shrimp stuffed w/crab meat , steak, and a baked potato stuffed with crab meat and cheese!!!! I cleaned my plate. Everyone else had different things in which I sampled. It was all pretty good!

Locally owned with fresh caught and homemade everything! We've been here twice when we've visited the area, and have not been disappointed. We're vegetarians, which makes it difficult to find places to eat in a seafood-loving town, but they were very friendly and accommodating! My relatives had the seafood chili and said it was to die for! Really friendly staff, nice atmosphere, and a solid menu!

I can't say anything bad about this place. Wait staff is great, food is great. The hush puppies are awesome. Just Go!!!

Crab cake was real, no filler. Everything on my platter was fried crispy (not soggy at all). Wait staff was excellent. Getting our food was fast. Will definitely make this a normal place to frequent in my trips to the area.

I really love going to this spot because it's within walking distance from my house. The service here is always super friendly and on point. A quick tip for anybody coming to this spot for the first time - TRY THE SHE CRAB SOUP! ITS THE BEST! You can dine inside or outside on the patio. I generally eat out on the patio because I love to grab drinks from their outside bar. They have a lot of good musical acts in there but I enjoy watching any of the baseball or hockey games that are on that night.

This is one of the most solid seafood restaurants I've been to. Their homemade chips and fried deviled crab were ridiculously good. Wickers prices are amazing too. $5 for specialty cocktails including margaritas, Bahama mamas, and White Russians (the dude abides). Will definitely be coming back soon.

Wow. Was this good. The crab was perfect. Everything was better than I expected. Don't drive by. Come in.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Did I say WOW? Yes, indeed I did. We met up with some friends at Wickers on Saturday October 4, 2014 @ 6:30pm. Well, I must admit, it was more like 6:45pm, since it took us forever to get there. We're not familiar with the area - and thought we could find it on our own (without the GPS). WRONG! But thanks to our friends who arrived there before us - AND the nice lady that works there who gave us excellent directions. THANK YOU for being so patient. Seating: We made reservations - and as mentioned, our friends were there promptly at 6:30 and seated inside. I'm thankful we had an inside seat, as outside was quite loud and lots of smokiing. Once seated - we kinda/sorta thought we were being ignored - or they were mad at us for calling for directions. BUT - when Sarah finally showed up at our table - she took our drink orders, explained what they had on draft, etc. Once I ordered what I thought was a wheat beer, she came back to the table to verify that it was NOT a wheat beer - so I stuck with Blue Moon (can, not draft). If you've never been here, use the GPS - or follow someone who knows where they're going. :-) As others have stated, it's small - parking limited - parking overflow in the church down the street. It's a blue house. I mean, an actual with the restaurant in the bottom part. Pretty interesting. Close, tight knit, seating inside, but again - no smoking - so I was a happy customer. Food: Our table of four ordered tuna bites ($8.99) and Oysters Rockefeller ($8.99). One person ordered the flounder special (not sure of price), someone else ordered the Crabby Chicken ($18.99) with crabmeat and melted cheese on top - this dish looked incredible and he said it was very good. My husband ordered soft shell crabs (and since I don't have the receipt, I can't give the price of those). BUT, he enjoyed them. I ordered the Carolyn's Crab cake (just one), with steamed broccoli. YUMMY! YUMMY! YUMMY! Our entrees, along with the appetizers, and the hush puppies and the salads that come with the meal are MORE than enough food. If you leave here hungry, it's your fault. Oh, the hushpuppies - they were pretty good - but very sweet, too much sugar for my taste. Service: As previously stated, once Sarah arrived at our table she took very good care of us. Gave us enough time to visit with our friends, enjoy our appetizers and salads. The entrees did arrive in a very timely manner. At one point we had more food on the table than room. We stacked the dishes to allow more room. My husband and I usually go to Lucky Oyster for our seafood - this place is a bit more expensive - BUT, it's worth the drive and cost. I would HIGHLY (and I mean HIGHLY) recommend Wickers. we will definitely return - and even use the GPS! :-) Thank You Sarah - and Wickers' Owners for a great dinner.

Awesome and great friendly service. Was a cold environment... AC was turned down but still cold. Food was great. Fresh crab. Bland mac n cheese. Hush puppies were cooked with some nit cooked all the way. Green beans was quite salty. Refills keep coming. Calamari was delish. All in all... It was great. Great service with great food.

I went there for a to go order, got the crab cake dinner and I wasn't impressed. The food is ok and very pricy, $25.67 for 2 small crab cakes and 2 sides.

I went here on a Thursday night with friends. Didn't quite live up to my expectations. GOOD: -Server was friendly and generally helpful -Outdoor covered patio with picnic tables NOT-SO-GOOD: -There are separate menus for the outdoor and indoor seating. The outdoor menu is quite limited (think standard appetizers and steamed seafood) and you can't order from the other menu. So everything I was eyeing on the online menu (seafood pot pie, fried shrimp, wraps, scallops) was a no-go because I was sitting in the patio. -Deviled crab had an odd flavor and low-quality meat and the she-crab soup didn't have much crab or flavor. You know those little round plastic containers you get when you get food from the grocery store salad bar or deli? That's what my soup came in...weird, right? -Food took a long time to come out, to the point where the server was apologizing throughout the night. Friends seemed to enjoy their steamed crabs legs, shrimp and clams...so I guess that's where it's at.

Had the crab dip, crab cake sandwhich & sweet potato fries with a cajun honey mustard sauce today. Every was great & the service was good. I like that they make their own pita chips for the crab dip. I will be back.

Our server, Debbie, was on point, with the food and the wit, sharp gal; we also chatted up oyster farming with the gentleman who owned the place. The establishment is, close to the boat, as they say- good food, charming spot.

After driving by a few times and seeing the parking lot packed. We decided to try it out. Fast & friendly service. Comfortable atmosphere, very laid back. Ate here with family and everyone really enjoyed their dinner. Good raw oysters, soft shell crabs and flounder. Would eat here again!

Hush-puppies? yeah... get them, they are great. General consensus on this place? Its ok, its pricy, but seafood usually is. I dont come here to drink and have not hung out in the out door area just the inside area. Its small, cozy i guess? , Iv come here for lunch and dinner, at first i really liked it then i kind of grew out of it. Its good but not fantastic. service is usally good unless its busy then it can slack at bit but this may be due to not enough staff. The fried fish is very good, not greasy, i usually get a pound of steamed shrimp and they are great, its worth a try if your in the area. they also do a take out window you can order and go .

Loved this place! For both the food and the service! We came her for dinner since it was close to our hotel, Founder's Inn, and my friend was craving some type of soup. So we came here and ordered the she crab soup and their clam chowder. It was amazing, they don't skimp on the crab or the clams. The clams were big and juicy and were in a light delicate broth. The she crab soup was heavenly, if a touch salty. We liked it so much we came back two days alter and ordered some to take home with us. We also ordered the steam platter for two, yum. It came with clams, oysters, crab, potatoes and corn, it was definitely enough for two, unless, you're a big dude that's really hungry. They also gave us some hush puppies, which I usually don't like, but these were light and fluffy with a hint of sweetness. Our waiter also suggested the deviled crab, which was delish. Our waiter was awesome, I can't remember his name. All I know is that he was super sweet, took our picture without hesitation, suggested yummy food and most importantly gave us directions on where to park at Chic's Beach without getting towed. He gave very clear directions and we were able to go their the next day and found parking with no problem.

After moving from AZ we were pretty stoked about eating some fresh seafood. This place had pretty good reviews and we just happened to be in the area near this restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. First thing I noticed walking up was the patio area was packed with people. There was a man playing live music and although the majority of people on the patio was more of a younger crowd, I did notice a few families with kids sitting in the patio area as well. There weren't any seats left outside, so we sat inside. The dining area is pretty small and looks rather run down. Our waitress was polite and seemed to be somewhat savvy with questions we had regarding the menu. We both ordered and glass of wine and a combination seafood platter. She brought us water and our wine in plastic cups! Seemed kinda weird, but what ever. Our food was prepared fairly quick and our order was correct. The food was good, but not anything extraordinary. Based on reviews, we were expecting more than what we experienced. I don't think we will ever go back, not because the food or service was bad, but because it's one of those "been there, done that" type of restaurants that really didn't WOW me or my husband.

The seafood was great. The service was good. The waitress was very friendly. The only complaint would be that our drinks were weak. You should not be able to drink even one Long Island Iced tea and not feel it. We had 2 and it was like drinking a soda. But overall , loved it! The She crab soup was delicious!

  • Phillippa L.

Just had a sample of the she crab soup at Taste Of Chesapeake and it was delicious, so much so that several of us at the table voted them for tastiest dish. Hadn't heard of this place before but I'm excited to try it out and see if the rest of the menu is just as good as the soup!

I came here with my sister because we had a craving for some crabs. It's an eat I'm restaurant but it also offers and walk up window for take out. You place your order and are given a ticket, when your order is done your number is called and you take your order. I order a dozen crabs lightly seasoned. I hadn't eaten crabs in a while and I was not disappointed. When I come back Ill have to actually sit down and dine in.

We live right up the street from this place and just decided to have lunch there. Man we had no clue what we were missing. the seafood is fresh, the staff is very attentive and super nice. the price is very reasonable as well. The owner was there talking to all the customers making sure they were satisfied and thanked them for coming. I felt very comfortable here and will definitely be returning.

This was my first time here. The employee Langston clearly hates his job! He was rude and acted like I was a nuisance because I asked him a few questions! I bought a larger size jimmy when he was ringing me up he over charged me $7.20 I asked him why so much and he said he charged me to steam my crab. I told him I wanted them alive. He was upset with me and didn't want to refund my money of $7.20 I asked for a manager and she did refund the money however never received my change for the initial purchase. I bought 3 half dozen live jimmy med.size crabs. Got home to find out I was charged for the larger size but was given a smaller size! I called the restaurant and was told they ran out of the larger size. I was ripped off by not giving me my change back from the original purchase of $80.20 for 3 and a half dozen crabs then was ripped off by giving me the smaller crab when I paid for the larger jimmy's. When I got home and counted my 3 and a half dozen crabs I noticed I was short six crabs! This place took me! If you decide you want to try this place out watch out for the scamming employee that confuses you in hopes you don't remember your change and charges you to steam live crabs when you didn't want them cooked. There are so many places that don't treat you this way! Stay away from this place unless you like being treated like a child and don't mind being ripped off!

My family went to eat there yesterday, I had to stay home. It was a party of 7 and NO ONE enjoyed their meal. The food is over priced and low quality, and the service was terrible. I asked them to get me a pound of peel and eat shrimp. They had to remind the waitress 3 times and she still got the order wrong. I got a half pound. Those shrimp are keeping me close to the bathroom today. A few of my family got steaks and they all said it was the smallest steak they ever saw in a restaurant. So basically, if I were you, your money is better spent on ordering some pizzas.

Good place for lunch, I have not been for dinner or social hour. The shrimp and scallops were good. Their hush puppies are excellent. Small, dumpy kind of place that obviously used to be a house. Service is good and friendly. Sometimes it is really packed at lunch, go earlier than later

She Crab Soup hmmmm? My daughter ordered this here and she usually doesn't have food sent back. I tasted it and it was bland and of poor quality (too heavy on cream with no taste). My husband tasted it too, and he agreed. Waitress came over and said, "we have the best she crab soup ever". I about spit my drink out listening to the deluded waitress. My fish was bland, and my husband's food wasn't that good either. Overall two stars but won't go back because of food quality. Growing up as a daughter of a fisherman and coming from a family that own's several seafood restaurants, I cannot reccomend Wicker's Crab Pot. Folks that think the food is good here don't know what good seafood tastes like. When you know better you do better and the same goes for food. I guess people are getting used to high priced low quality as the norm.....sad.

The food was fairly decent, from all the reviews I read everyone raved about the She-Crab Soup, so I decided to try it since it seemed to be given such amazing reviews, but I was throughly disappointed with it. It was very bland and tasted more like crab dip to me rather than She-Crab soup. My mother and I shared the blackened tuna bites appetizer which were pretty tasty. My daughter and nephews ate steamed crab legs and loved them. BE WARNED...the margaritas are pretty bad! So I would avoid them. This is a pretty generic, run of the mill, seafood restaurant in a beachy/tourist area and honestly while the food wasn't horrible, it wasn't anything special and there are definitely MANY other seafood restaurant options in better locations, better food, and better views. So I think I will pass next time it's recommended.

We were visiting the area and after reading reviews we decided to try this place. When I called to check on the wait they were able to take a reservation which was great. The place is small, but it has plenty of room and the outside patio seems like a ton of fun with the live band. The raw oysters and the oyster Rockefeller were amazing and very fresh. The dungeness crabs were so sweet and it was my first time having it and I don't think I want to eat snow crabs again. The crab stuffed shrimp is by far my favorite and I feel like I could eat it all day. Our service was great even though our waitress apologized multiple times for the wait even though I didn't even notice since I was enjoying my wine. The night before we left we made sure to get to-go and got an amazing oyster poboy, chicken sandwich, and she crab soup. All great! If I visit the area again I Will definitely stop by again.

Service, Service, Service. Let me preface with the food was pretty good, it may have been better if the experience had been better. We went on Saturday night with a group of 4 adults and 2 small children. We entered the dining room and requested to be seated. We were greeted very warmly by a hostess who said she would seat us right away, before she could do so a woman who may have been a manager called her into the back room and said something to her. After a minute she came back and explained it would be a minute while a table was put together to accommodate us, and she proceeded to push two tables together and went and got 2 high chairs for the kids. We were asked for our drink orders by another very friendly waitress and after giving our orders, we overheard the woman who may have been a manager telling the table directly behind us how "people just don't realize how small this place is and bring small children without a reservation and expect us to accommodate them." She actually had the nerve to come by the table and tell my wife how cute our kids were after the other customers had left the dining area. How rude could you possibly be to talk about a customer within ear shot. Out of respect for my family I held my tongue and finished the meal, tipped my very nice waitress and left. We will not be back and we will share our experience with everyone we know. The bad part is, for about 30 minutes we were the only ones in the inside dining area. There are no signs saying you have to have a reservation to eat, and when the place got busy we were on our way out. The experience was bad enough for me that I could not enjoy my meal. No thank you Wicker's. PS we my wife and I had the $26 steamed pot for 2 which while small had a good selection of muscles, clams, a small amount of crab, shrimp, 2 small corn cobs, and potato's

No trip to the Tidewater area is complete without eating seafood, especially crab. Coming from landlocked Alberta, I was craving some delicious seafood. But I found Wicker's to be just okay. The crab dip was bland, though the crab trio was decent. Our server messed up our order and brought my sweetie fried flouder instead of blackened talapia. The flounder was quite good, just not what we ordered. For sides, the sweet biscuits are amazing, the potato salad is yummy, but the the coleslaw was boring. Best to avoid that.

FRIED CRABS??? GO SOME WHERE ELSE!!! Not the same Wickers from 30 years ago. I came to Wickers after trying a few other crab places. Honestly, I was VERY DISAPPOINTED.. Here a very short list of the reasons.... 1. The batter.....there was SO MUCH batter on the crabs, I could have made a cake.....seriously. 2. Wasn't advise of the size of the crabs. I guess the staff called themselves camouflaging the size with batter to make it look bigger than it was. DEFINITELY WRONG ANSWER!!! My advice to the staff...ask older customers and someones in your family how were the fried crabs were made. They will tell you that the batter just barely coated the crabs. The batter was there to accentuate, not overwhelm. SO SO DISAPPOINTED.

    (2)
  • Marina E.

Not bad but wasn't too impressed either. My she-crab soup was pretty good and my crab cakes were decent. I guess I didn't get the wow factor. Maybe it had to do with the 5 day old dry lemon wedge that came out with my meal or the somewhat "wet" sour cream that accompanied my baked potato.

In town on business and all I wanted was some fresh seafood... And MAN DID THEY DELIVER! I had the seafood chilli and snow crab legs. It was literally the best plate of crab legs I have ever had. My server was Super friendly and suggested the chilli . the owner came over to check on me. He informed me he has his own boat that he goes out an catches his own seafood! I will most DEF be back :)

Love this place!! Definitely loved going there when I lived in Chesapeake. It has wonderful food, great events and a nice big patio bar out back. Go there for a nice seafood dinner (caught fresh) or just a quick drink and delicious appetizers. Either way they are a great place to be.

  • Melissa L.

My husband and I met a small group of friends there on Thursday night. It was just delicious! I got the crab pot so I could sample everything on my first visit. My husband got the BQ plate and thought it was ok. (He's not a seafood eater like I am). I also got take out for my 13 y.o. son that was a fried seafood plate. He loved it. Fried to a golden crust with hush puppies. I can't wait to have a chance to go back.

Decided to take the advice from fellow Yelpers and gave this place a try! The host (which I believe is the owner) was really nice and took the time to give us a short history of the restaurant. Our server was friendly but forgot to tell us about the specials the restaurant was offering for the night (which is okay since we already knew what we wanted for dinner). The hush puppies were DELICIOUS!! My son ate about 5 hush puppies. The she-crab soup is also worth a try. If you like creamy soups - I would highly recommend the she-crab soup! For dinner I decided to go to try the Crab Cake! Jumbo lump crab meat is all you get in this crab cake....HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CRAB CAKE!! Would've loved to tried the Mac n' Cheese but it was all sold out...have to get there sooner!! =) I think the next time, I would like to try the take out window as the menu is different! We will definitely be back!! =)

I found out about this restaurant on yelp. My fam and I wanted some dElicious seafood without all the fluff and imitation crab meat and we found it! It was a little confusing at first because u can only have steamed seafood downstairs and fried food in the dining room upstairs. So everyone had to know exactly what we wanted... Please note that this is because of the two kitchens..its really small... (The restaurant used to be a house) but needless to say it was no biggie at all and the staff was SUPER NICE!!!! My mom is most def seafood conessuier and she enjoyed the all you can eat blue crabs with corn for only 16.99 ... I had the she crab soup which had plenty of crab meat..the hush puppies...a deviled crab which was ALL crab and a pound of steamed peel and eat shrimp. I ordered the kids menu sliders which she wasn't interested in... She was not a fan of the chips and my dad had hot wings... He's allergic to seafood.. He said they were ok. Oh and did I mention the $5 drink specials??? Fantastic! The ambience is really laid back picnic tables most people are eating crabs and having cocktails... Espn is on most tvs and the music is a mix of a lil country and top 40 although I must admit I wasn't bothered at all by it... Point blank if u r n the area... Stop by and enjoy some good ole down home seafood and some cocktails... U won't be disappointed I promise!!!

Have only tried it once.... dined inside...but the patio outside was pretty busy... their she crab soup was fantastic.... We had crab legs, and they were cook right... not rubbery. Hush puppies were good. Service was great...Someone called the place "dumpy' and I didn't get that at all... yes, it used to be a house (maybe...) but it wasn't bad inside at all. Family owned and operated... My only regret was that I love cheesecake, the waitress raved about it, and then they were out of it and someone else from the staff made a comment that they only make one per day... :(

I was very happy to learn that they have a small fish/shellfish market too. Unfortunately, it was closed when we went. For our lunch we had: the she crab soup, which was divine, "fish and chips" with flounder- very flaky, perfectly fried and yummy, homemade chips and hush puppies -both delicious! We also had the baked devil crab and steamed shrimp. The crab tasted very good but it's small for the price and I've had better steamed shrimp. My biggest complaint (and that's why I didn't rate it higher) is the strong smell of cigarette inside the place eventhough it has no smoking signs allover the place. I don't smoke and I have two little ones so that bothers me. Other than that, I would be back for lunch:)

She crab soup is the BEST! Must have this bowl as an appetizer.... The main dish my husband and I always get is the Steam Pot and we share this because its huge and packed with seafood. It has large snow crab leg clusters, oysters, clams, red potatoes, corn on the cob, and large succulent shrimp! And they serve this with a side of melted butter for dipping and cocktail sauce. They also have specials each day, and once we tried their lobster tails and they were delicious and reasonably priced. We only eat here from now on when we want seafood. Anywhere else is a disappointment. This restaurant puts Red L*bster to shame!

Crab cakes and soft shell were awesome. Hushpuppies were great. Crab dip was only disappointment. Was more of a cheese with ground up crab. Less cheese more crab chunks. Service was excellent. Prices and portions very reasonable.

Had the shrimp and crab platter. The veggies were bad (canned tomatoes in some weird sauce), the side salad was iceberg lettuce and equally canned feeling, but the seafood was fantastic. Some sort of Old Bay/Cajun seasoning on it, and the crab was cooked to perfection and deliciously messy. The shrimp was hot and equally fresh tasting. Not too heavy, took an hour to eat properly and exactly what we wanted - good seafood, interesting ambiance (takeout window, outer porch with smoking and a bad band, and then a cute kitschy indoor restaurant). Four stars for the crab alone.

Good seafood at reasonable prices. The owner stopped by our table to make sure we were satisfied. Our server was very attentive. We had the Crab Trio and Blackened Salmon entrees. Both were excellent. Asked for melted butter for the crab, but got melted margarine instead. We'll come back again.

We had high hopes for this charmingly decorated little seafood place. Upon walking in, everything looked as it should. Restaurant packed, which is always a good sign. We should have had a clue when we were directed to park in a church parking lot , but more about that later. We were seated in a big wood booth and waited patiently for a waitress , however, they seemed to be rather busy as they were crowded in a corner chatting away , probably about global warming or some other such important topic. Far be if from us to break up such an important meeting. Finally after about 5 minutes, one of the waitress glanced at us and begrudgingly trotted over to take our order. No big deal. We are patient people. We ordered appetizers first, the she crab soup and calamari. The soup came in a big bowl and had a generous serving. However, the top of the soup had a slight coating of pustular yellow fat that clung to the roof of my mouth with the oleaginous insistence of dentist's wax. I suspected that at least 1/2 the serving came from the tube of a liposuction patient at the local plastic surgeons office. Now on to the calamari. The geniuses in the kitchen must have run out of this dish, as what came instead were store bought rubber bands fried in old caustic oil that was no doubt removed from a car out front. It was not all bad though, I used one to hold my hair back in the ladies room. But more about that later. For our main dish we both ordered the oyster po boy sandwiches. At this point my husband asked for an ashtray, which the waitress replied "im sorry, there's a no smoking policy" he replied "its not to smoke, we want to lick it to get the taste of appetizers out of our mouth" The sandwiches finally arrived, Nothing I have eaten or heard of being eaten here prepared me for the arrival of these anorexic deplorable sandwiches. Cut into two, I bit into it and tasted bread and tomato. Huh? Lifting the top off, I was met with the sight on 1/2 oyster placed on my bun. I promptly called the waitress over and asked her if this was how the sandwich came. I revealed the naked bun and was asked "what do you want me to do about it?" Are you KIDDING? At this point I decided to eat my napkin as it was a better alternative to the sandwich. And I was HUNGRY! Being the typically positive person I am I thought, there HAS to be something redeeming in this place, so I ordered the key lime pie for dessert. The crust crumbles under the knife like plumber's putty and tastes faintly of roof tar. The filling itself was so tart it took a few days for my lips to un pucker. Then finally something excellent happened!! We got a check which was overpriced but we didn't give a flying ****! We saw it as our ticket outta there! We fled that restaurant like a bat outta hell and ran to our car that was properly parked in a place of prayer. We dropped to our knees and PRAYED to GOD that we should never darken the door way to Hells eatery!! Now, back to the rubber band in my hair. About 1/2 mile down the road I noticed my husband going 80 MPH trying to get home, about 30 seconds later I understood why. We fought for the bathroom as we both pushed our was into the doorway trying to outrun the other. The wicker pot restaurants final blow came out my husbands a$$ and for me out of my mouth, AVOID!

I've only taken out, so I'm reviewing the take-out window. The crab prices are reasonable. As of 6/11/2010, a dozen steamed females were $15.00 (they've always thrown in 2 extra for us, b/c my dad's old). It's convenient that you can buy a half dozen if you're not feeling too hungry. The hush puppies are INCREDIBLE! The oyster dinner was a little dry and the oysters were a little small, though fresh. Good value for the money.

I am a big seafood fan so when a few people mentioned Wicker's to me I decided to head on over. The parking lot was packed with mostly pickups and we parked in the overflow lot down the street. The place looked cool - a remodeled home turned into a restaurant with a large covered deck area and quaint inside seating. We ordered a wine and an Orange Crush to start. Good. I ordered the steamed oyster app. Overdone and rubbery with no taste at all. She had the fish taco platter and I had the Mahi Special. Her tuna was cut to include the bloodline and that ruined her meal. The owner came out to apologize and offered another plate but her appetite was gone. As the owner explained-away the mistake I was playing with the pubic hair in my plate of fish with my fork deciding not to mention it and never return. The place has real potential and I wish it was better because the seafood restaurants in the area are few and far between. The place needs to shake-up its kitchen staff and clean it up a bit. We had high hopes for a good dinner, based upon previous reviews and word of mouth but it was a total disappointment. Not recommended.

My friends and I drove by this place and decided to give it a go. The restaurant has a nice deck area, a take out window downstairs and a small full service restaurant upstairs. It looked promising for some fresh steamed crabs, clams and oysters based on the number of people waiting for takeout orders by the patio. We decided to sit inside though and enjoy a beer with our seafood. There were some disappointments, but also some redeeming features. Disappointments: 1. The inside restaurant does not offer fresh steamed crabs or fried crabs like the takeout window. The only way to get "crack-em yourself" crab was thru snow crab or dungeness leg clusters. Not sure why they could not bring them up from downstairs!? They also offered a steam pot for two with some leg clusters, 6 clams, 6 oysters, and the usual potatoes. The description didn't sound like enough for two. 2. We started with the steamed oysters appetizer. The price was right (4.99/half doz, 9.99/doz), but they were on the small side. I also did not see any raw oysters on the menu. 3. Still craving crab, we opted for the trio of broiled/baked crab in those little tin crab shells: Baked, imperial, and something else. It came with two side. One friend and myself ordered this. Both entrees came out luke warm and we had to send them back to get reheated. They were still not piping hot the 2nd time, but a little better. 4. My kid got the chicken tenders kids meal. Seemed a bit overpriced (5.95) for 2 tender strips and a handful of chips. 5. 3rd friend got the shrimp dinner, and while the shrimp were plentiful, they were a little on the dry side. Redeemers: 1. They have really good hush puppies, and you can gorge on as many as you want. They refilled our basket several times. On the larger side, but nicely fried to a deep brown with a moist center. 2. The wait staff were very accommodating and nice, even after we sent our food back. Conclusion: This place deserves another shot, but i am going to stick with the takeout window next time. That menu listed soft shells, steamed crabs, fried crabs, the whole gamut of what you would expect at a place called Crab Pot. It looked like that menu was more extensive than the inside menu.

I am i Chesapeake, VA on a business trip and was looking for some seafood. I was hoping to find something a little different and not a chain. What I found was Wicker's Crab Pot Seafood. I really wasn't sure what to expect, but i personally loved it from the moment I walked in. Everyone of the personnel, including the owner, was so nice and cordial. Debbie was our server and was just a sweet heart. She started us off with some hush puppies. Very good hush puppies. We were offered a cup of their she crab soup, incredible. For dinner I ordered the crab cakes. No filler here, just jumbo lump crab meat... also incredible! This was all around one of the best dinning experiences I have had in quite some time. I look forward to my next visit!

Came here just for a dozen crabs to-go. Medium male $27. Lots of small crabs in my bag and they were hardly seasoned. I'm not sure why we had to wait more than 15 minutes for crabs.

I found on yelp, while visiting on the chesapeake area. Great service and even better food. I'll be back for sure.

We decided to take our friend here for her birthday and no one was disappointed. We basically had it all. From fried fish, steamed and fried shrimp, and crab legs. Not to mention the complimentary hush puppies. Everything was delicious and Ms. Debbie couldn't have been nicer. The next time we're in town, we will definitely be dining here.

Food was great. Had a long wait to sit down but we wanted to try it. Wait staff was a little unorganized and our drinks never got refilled. Was an ok visit, and I would go again, but only because the food was good.

My wife and I had the rockfish and flounder dinners. The prices were average and the portions were adequate, although not as large as Pirates Cove or Surf Rider. The flavor was good but maybe a little over salted. The wait staff was very good but never asked us if we wanted dessert. The menu listed very few side items and we only got two hushpuppies each. The restaurant is and old house located on Indian River Rd. and not a great area. Somewhat disappointed after reading previous reviews.

Out of the way but worth the ride. Crab legs were awesome. Other crab dinners were very tasty.

Good food, fast service and great hush puppies. What more do you need in a seafood restaurant? Oh yea, a takeout window. They've got that too. We'll be back!

Cozy little seafood restaurant in an area filled with fast food places. The staff was very friendly, but the service was a little slow. The food was excellent and moderately priced. I was disappointed with the children's menu selections, but the adult menu was very diverse with excellent seafood and steak choices.
