Great plaec to go watch the Caps practice and grab a cold beer and pizza. They also make some great fresh sandwiches. You have to try the hot dogs. New England style huge dogs served on a split top bun. Always friendly service. The offer Illy coffee and breakfast sandwiches and homemade muffins. The bagels come from NY and are made with that great NY water so you know they are good.

They make a great cup of coffee here. The store is clean, the staff is friendly and courteous and I get you in and out fast. If you get a chance come try them out its something different.
I've been coming here for the past few months because it's right across from my office and is a nice change of pace from the long lines and underwhelming coffee at Starbucks on the next block. I'm consistently delighted by the quality of coffee AND morning snacks that they offer. I also enjoy the "ambiance", if you will... there are not so many seats that, even if all of them were taken, it would feel crowded and the music is always great too. Really, at any time of day. Also, you should just come in and meet the wonderful guys that work here. Since my very first visit, they have always been so incredibly nice. They are on-point with the orders and timeliness, but the fact that they take a moment to genuinely ask you how you are doing today or say good morning, and remember you each time, is a characteristic that truly makes them stand out. Their sincere friendliness, coupled with a reasonably priced and also delicious cup of coffee, is the perfect pick-me-up for any day, and definitely the reason that I will continue going back.
They have the best coffee of any of the chains, and even though the company is owned by Starbucks, it's not even fair to compare the two because this is so much better. If Starbucks coffee wasn't so unpalatable on it's own (always tastes burnt) there might be room for comparison. I like that there are 5 different roasts to choose from; the level 4 is my favorite. They don't always have every level available but all of their coffee tastes so smooth that it doesn't really matter which one you get. The staff at this location are awesome too, very friendly and personable. I just wish there were more locations in DC because I don't make it out to this area anymore.

CREPES ANYONE ?! Love this place. I'm from the Bay Area and came to VA to visit my daughter. She knows I have a sweet tooth so she suggested that we swing by this place and try their crepes. So glad we did. Everything on the menu looked sinfully delicious. I got the fresh banana, strawberries and nutella. Soooo good my son decided to get two orders of this dish. My daughter got the Campfire S'mores - another good choice. We shared our orders and was tempted to get another one but that shall wait for the next visit. Came back one more time before I flew back to CA. Missing those crepes! Hi Oby! Mari misses you.
Food- Below average! We ordered a greek omelet which was very bad. How can you mess up a simple omelet. The mimosa was good. We also had the biscuits which wasn't great either. The place is overrated for food. Menu- Has a decent menu. Mostly a breakfast/brunch place. Ambience/ restaurant style- I would give this place 5 stars only for this. It has a very nice outdoor seating. You can enjoy the sun and have your mimosa's. The place has a good indoor seating too. Overall- just come down for a drink on a weekend afternoon and enjoy the sun. The food isn't worth it.
This place is adorable and everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful. They have a self-serve wine bar that looks like it's from the future, and everything is bright, colorful, and inviting inside. The drinks come in tall ceramic (I think?) glasses with silicone sleeves. The flavored lattes are delicious, and come with a big dollop of whipped cream, heavenly! There is a large crepe menu both savory and sweet, a pastry case, smoothies, frappes, and of course espresso beverages. I've only been here for coffee drinks and a small sampling of a shared crepe, but everything else looks delicious, too! There are 3 types of coffee in the self-serve big thermos things each day, and I like that there is usually at least one flavored kind, such as blueberry, in addition to a breakfast blend and another more typical flavor. There is a great outdoor seating area, and last time I went I sat at a table to wait for my coffee, and one of the waitresses brought out a carafe and glasses of water for me while I waited, great service!

Unfortunately, I think Pupatella is a huge hit or miss. Or according to the lady I spoke to on the phone from Pupatella, a complete utter miss. The last time we had Pupatella was a few months ago. The pizza was GREAT as popularly commented. However, we went to Pupatella a couple days ago and did some carry-out. You know, when you have faith in a place like Pupatella, you don't feel the need to humiliate yourself by checking the condition of the food before you leave. So we left, got home, and we opened our boxes to big disappointment. 70-80% of both our pizzas were burnt. And I don't mean slightly burnt, I mean really burnt. It looked burnt AND it tasted burnt. We have ordered from Pupatella many times in the past and have never experienced this! I called and spoke to a lady who said, "I'm sorry you were disappointed with our pizza but that is what Neapolitan pizza is. It's suppose to be a little burnt. I can give you a refund, but you need to bring back the pizzas uneaten." Sorry lady, but I'm not driving up to an hour during rush hour to get a refund for possibly one of the worst tasting pizzas I have ever seen and tasted. I stopped eating Domino's and Pizza Hut years ago but even THEY did not mess up pizza like this! Furthermore, I travel to Italy often and I have been to Naples and have tried authentic Neapolitan pizza and it never comes out THIS BURNT! It was already bad that the pizzas tasted and looked so burnt, but the lady's attitude and demeanor on the phone just totally burned this place into the ground for me. For those who order carry-out, I would CHECK your pizzas before leaving! Supposedly, according to the female employee, Neapolitan pizza is always "a little burnt" so if you like the taste of varying amounts of char on your food, this place may be perfect for you. Really disappointed in this place. Pictures attached so that you can see some of the burnt pieces. These are not even the worst pictures -- some of the slices were literally covered in black at the bottoms. Really gross and a complete shame.
Very popular spot. You order at the counter and take a seat. Don't be turned off by the line. It moves quickly. There were many delicious sounding pizza varieties. I ordered a Diavola (spicy salami, fresh mozzarella, basil) for $11. Neapolitan style thin crust for one. Delicious. I also ordered the side salad for $4, which was nothing special. House chianti was a nice accompaniment.
There are two cuisines I fancy myself an expert: Mexican food (see other reviews and last nme) and Neapolitan Pizza. Every city I visit or live in, I must find the best Neapolitan Pizza in town andI will be loyal to such place above all others (in that city). Pupatella is that place in DC. I almost find it insulting that other reviews compare it to Two Amy's which I think is atrocious. The dough at Pupatella is tasty and very crispy in the corners but has that softness that a Neapolitan Pizza should have. The sauce is sweet but never over powering and the quality of their cheese is top notch. Splurge a little and try the buffalo mozzarella. It does make a difference. I usually make my own pizza, prosciutto or pancetta with garlic. My husband is quite obsessed with the fried calzone which is always oozing when you cut into it. I love that they serve Dolci gelato since I think this local Gelato shop is outsanding and one of the most authentic I've had outside of Italy. Last year I was lucky enough to take a long trip across Italy and you bet your ass I tried pizza everywhere I went. I am being completely honest when I say, Pupatella is one of the best pizza's I've had and not just in the U.S.
