I've been to Wimpys twice now, ate in once and ordered Togo tonight! It was awesome! Better then Freddie's burgers by far! It may not be the most presentable place but hey like they say don't judge a book by its cover

As a devotee of the small town burger shack, I was more than excited to see this old-school, off-the-beaten-track place when I was in Vernal. It's up in Maeser, which is just a few minutes off of the main Highway 40. Driving up, it was pure perfection. Kinda run-down, and old Wimpy (the character from Popeye) on the sign, and when you enter it's a counter, a few old seats, and a jukebox with a large collection of '80s hits and '90s pop. A dollar brought the glory of Achy Breaky Heart and some classic Wang Chung. So far so good. I had a double cheeseburger, and it was okay. No complaints from me, except that they had run out of lettuce. The fries, however, were struggling. They suffered from limp fry syndrome, and held more than their fair share of oil with less than their fair share of crisp. I also got to try the Wimpy Burger, and to put it kindly, would not order it. It lacked any flavor but grill, and though it was a generous size, and plenty of will, it didn't get eaten. Since I combo mealed, I got a drink. Which is okay, but do note that they charge for refills as well as extra sauce. I'm glad I went--and perhaps I should have ordered a shake to top things off, but next time in town I'll explore a little more and see what other options are available for my road-trippin' tummy.

Delicious raspberry shake (with scoop ice cream), good fries and burgers. Jukebox has good tunes. A couple of arcade games (Galaga and Ms. Pac-man). Kids meals are a good deal. Bathroom is behind the counter, but they're cool about it.

We just moved to the area from a place I loved. I'm pretty much devastated but we stumbled upon wimpys last night and what a relief. A break from the dressed up diners trying to be steakhouses and breweries. The burgers were excellent - huge and greasy. Like rickies. And the fries and onion rings. Can wait to come back for a shake. And another burger as big as my head. I wish there were more places in vernal that would just be good at what they do.

It is what it is. HUGE BURGERS and good onion rings. The interior is probably the worst I have ever seen in a functioning restaurant but the food was great. It is not a romantic spot so maybe on a date you should do take-out.

I would give this place 1/2 a star but I guess you can't do that..I've ate here acouple of times and I've never been impressed, I've tried a cheeseburger and the Philly cheese steak and the meat tastes like its dirty I don't think they have ever cleaned the grill ..would not recommend eating here

Come hungry!! The burgers are huge but SO good! The fries are homemade and are just delicious. We found a gem while driving through Vernal...if you have 20 minutes, stop! You won't regret it. I was too full for a shake but they looked amazing!

Ya, this place hits the spot. Fresh cut fries, goof shakes and excellent burgers. Limited seating, so take out is a good option. Well done Maeser.
