Love, love, LOVE the friendly service!! Both visits we took while in town for a work trip were great! Seated promptly, greeted sincerely, and even got recommendations on the servers favorites. #41 on the menu is WELL WORTH IT! Make sure to ask for more tortillas because you could fill way more than 3 with the generous amount of delicious rice and cream sauce the meal provides. This meal is also GREAT as a leftover. I would highly recommend Stopping by for a meal of you're in the area!

We love to come here and get the fajita salad. It's huge! We just shared it between three of us and felt satisfied.

The portions of food here clearly satisfy the masses. Unfortunately having access to great Mexican food in Southern California, Texas, and the southwest this food falls horribly short of good quality Mexican food. For the most part the food is bland and has no real taste our order was over cooked and mush. Service was very slow despite the fact the restaurant was nearly empty. The quality of the food is very pricey despite the large portions. To add confusion to the matter a sign fastened to the building boldly displays the business as being for sale despite the fact that they remain open. Perhaps that or the poor quality food explains the lack of customers. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this establishment.

So, I should preface this review by saying that I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican food. If you are too, you might want to pass this place up. The salsa had a lot of oregano in it, which was a quick turn off for me. Based on another yelp review, I decided to try the chili colorado. The menu said it was prepared with beef, but it was actually pork. When I mentioned to the waitress that it was pork, she said they had recently changed the recipe, but hasn't updated the menu. My husband ordered the tacos al carbon. The tortillas were greasy and just fall apart. The rice was very salty and the refried beans were flavorless. I really hate to leave bad reviews, but this $30 lunch was pretty disappointing.

I came here one time before and it was OK, nothing to special. I went back yesterday with my coworker and i got a little suprise. I was craving for good steak since there are not many good restaurants in town so I took a risk by ordering steak at the Mexican restaurant. It turns out the steak was well marinated and it was cooked to perfection ( after i sent it back the first time for over cook..haha). The portion was pretty big and it came with two side ( bean and guacamole. it was $16. Not bad at all. We talked to the waitress for a little bit. IT turned out she was from california. she was nice and friendly. I guess this will be my spot to go get steak the next time i am in town

Where to eat when you are passing through Tremonton on a sleepy Sunday and fast food just won't cut it? El Parral is a few miles into town from I-15 and based on the exterior we weren't quite sure what we were in for. First off, all four of us headed straight for the bathroom. El Parral has the CLEANEST PUBLIC RESTROOMS I've ever seen. The toilet was sparkling clean and the floor could have been eaten from. Upon entering the dining room, we noticed similar squeaky clean floors, booths and tables. The menu was substantial, lots of combinations and vegetarian options. They even have "American food" with hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fried prawns and grilled cheese. The prices were teetering on steep, especially for the area. Combinations start around $10.50 when similar restaurants of the same caliber might start around $8. Fresh chips and salsa (red and verde) were served after a bit of a wait. BIG plus: El Parral serves both Coke and Pepsi products. Not sure how they got away with it but you won't find me complaining about my icy cold Diet Coke. K really enjoyed his a la carte chicken burrito. "Very chicken-y" says he. K also ordered a chile relleno which was a pepper wrapped in a thin omelet covered with cheese and a light sauce. Kinda a different take on the classic deep-fried chile relleno but he still enjoyed it. His main complaint was the pile of cheese he had to dig through to find his food. C ordered the #60. A pick two vegetarian combo. Cheese enchilada, bean chimchanga topped with guacamole, lettuce and sour cream, rice and refried beans on the side and a strange companion: classic American cole slaw...weird...it didn't quite fit in with the rest of the meal. No matter the generous portion sizes, the beans were runny and bland, the cheese enchilada had no sauce, and again the amount of cheese on one plate was truly shocking. C ate about a 1/3 of it before giving up. The ankle biters shared a grilled cheese and fries, both really enjoyed their "American" food. The fries were pretty awesome. Overall, the service was slow but very friendly, the restaurant was busy and great for kids, and I'm sure the locals are glad to have options other than fast food and greasy spoon drive-ins.

This restaurant is clean, and the service is decent, with friendly staff. My partner and I each ordered different "Combination" meals -- my impression is that you won't get a bad meal here, but, on the other hand, the food seemed bland. Our plates arrived quickly on very hot plates, and beans, enchiladas, tamales, etc. all liberally covered with stringy melted cheese. Most similar restaurants would add chopped lettuce and tomatoes, but El Parral did not. The orchata is also different than most places we have tried, and it required constant stirring -- seemed like an instant mix that doesn't work very well.

I used to really love this restaurant. Better than average food. Portion size is large as it is in most Mexican restaurants, but still good flavors. The service is still good. The prices are still good as well. They just remodeled and replaced the flooring with beautiful tile, unfortunatley, it really echoes. Don't go at the regular lunch and dinner hours unless you want to shout to be heard over the screaming customers and their kids. Even the staff banging plates makes it feel edgy. That's why 4 stars.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
